12 Best Cafes in Fuengirola

Fuengirola’s café scene has evolved far beyond the simple Spanish barra. Over the last decade, this stretch of the Costa del Sol has quietly become a haven for specialty roasters, artisan bakers, and health-conscious brunch spots that rival those in Málaga or Marbella.

The beauty of café culture here is its diversity. In a single morning, you can move from a traditional churro stand to a Scandinavian-style coffee house, then finish with an acai bowl overlooking the Mediterranean.

Because Fuengirola is home to a large international community, the standards for coffee and service are exceptionally high. You will find single-origin beans, alternative milks, and gluten-free options alongside classic Spanish café con leche.

The best neighborhoods for café hopping are Los Boliches, the port area, and the quiet residential streets near the Sohail Castle. Each zone offers a different pace and atmosphere, from lively terraces to hidden garden patios.

Whether you are a digital nomad looking for reliable Wi-Fi, a parent needing a stroller-friendly terrace, or a foodie hunting the perfect flat white, this guide will point you in the right direction.

We have visited each location multiple times, assessed the consistency of the espresso, and paid attention to details like water service, seating comfort, and how the staff treats solo visitors.

Below is a curated list of the best spots in the city right now, chosen for their quality, atmosphere, and ability to deliver a memorable experience every single time.

All in all it was a marvelous experience. It all started as a casual brunch but we ended up spending more than 2 hours at this place chatting with the staff and trying their amazing dishes. So much positive energy and magnificent ambiance that it is unparalleled to anything I’ve experienced in a while. On top of that they have a wide variety of gluten free options including their desserts which are enormous. In my view their sweets are for at least 2 people 😅 excited to return and enjoy their delightful company as well as their food very soon ❤️ Köszönöm 🙏🏾

We came here for lunch on vacation. Our group consists of two vegetarians and there was a really amazing choice of food and choices for everyone. We also loved the drinks selection as there was choices of smooties, including protein powder in them, and frappes which we loved. The atmosphere was great and all the staff seemed passionate and funny and really cared for us.

This place is a gem on this waterfront strip!!! The best and healthiest food can be found here! A lot of options for people with any food allergies or certain ingredients. They can customize your irder to your needs. An amazing place to have breakfast m, lunch and brunch. The owner is so great very positive attitude and atmosphere. Strongly recommend this place to everyone.

This place was a special find. Only place in Fuengirola you can get great quality whole foods, juices poke bowls. The coffee is incredible but what’s even better are the staff. Family ran and so friendly and passionate about what they. Get there early or reserve a table as it gets busy. We went for drinks in the morning and were so impressed we reserved a table to come back for lunch. The best place we have been during our stay. Special mention to the owner’s daughter who works so hard but is so friendly and helpful.

Amazing food! Tastes as good as it looks, staff & owners extremely friendly and helpful, a MUST visit… missed a star off in error… if I could I would give more than 5 stars for EVERYTHING!

We have been coming to Torreblanca for the last 10 years. On this trip we recently discovered Royal Dough. We have been here multiple times on this trip because it is our new favourite place! The place itself is lovely, the food is incredible!!! And Maria the owner is the loveliest, kindest and most attentive person and made our experience here so enjoyable. She makes this place! We love it! Couldn’t recommend more.
Jen Weigand★★★★★
What an incredible place! The drinks were large portions and for a bargain price. The tapas were great too, with an amazing atmosphere, cute photo ops, and the most incredibly attentive and kind service. 10/10 would recommend!
Hanna Eklund★★★★★
New favorite spot on the beachfront! I just tried out Royal Dough, a fantastic new place right along Paseo Marítimo that has been open for only 6 weeks, and it’s safe to say this spot is bound for success! It is a beautiful corner shop with an absolutely amazing location and gorgeous sea views. Because it’s right on the corner, there is a wonderful, refreshing sea breeze, making it a lovely place to sit outside on the terrace even on the hottest days. The interior is super fresh and spotless. I especially loved the bold and successful color scheme, where pink tones, neon lights, and a stunning flower wall give the place a unique and stylish character. Accessibility has also been wonderfully taken care of: the venue is wheelchair-friendly, and the restrooms were exemplary clean. The food and drink selection completely blew me away—there is literally something for everyone, and it's much more than just cold refreshments! They serve fresh salads, more filling, hearty food, and as their specialty, freshly toasted filled bagels (starting from just €5.90!). On the drink side, they have everything from health drinks and milkshakes to an incredible cocktail list with up to 300 different drinks. For sports fans: there is a large TV inside, making it the perfect place to watch games while enjoying a cold drink and great food. We loved it so much that we already booked a table for tonight’s Spain vs. Argentina World Cup match! The place is run by a wonderful and warm-hearted couple who are true polyglots, speaking fluent Finnish, Swedish, English, and Spanish. Highly recommended—hurry up to try it out and support this great new business! 🥂⚽✨
Nikodem SpringPrzem83★★★★★
Delicious food, especially the handmade ice cream and drinks like the Royal Berry made with real fruit, which I had the pleasure of tasting. The place is clean and the service is very friendly, in fact the best I've ever encountered. While I was there, I also ordered chocolate ice cream, but unfortunately, they were out of it, so I received two servings of strawberry ice cream instead. This is a great example of a company that cares about its customers, I highly recommend it!

Very good service, personelle and drinks. 5 stars from here and I would really go here next time im in Fuengirola!

Beautiful decor, there is a very welcoming vibe in this sweet café. Owner puts his heart into everything he makes, very caring person. It felt like home 🤗. Undoubtedly great coffee and everything we tried so far was tasty. Looking forward to go there as long as we are in Fuengirola. Highly recommended place.

Amazing coffee, super kind staff, and strong WiFi. I came here not expecting much and left impressed. David, the owner, is very knowledgeable about coffee and makes super strong iced lattes. They have space for coworking and the WiFi is strong. I highly recommend.

Went for breakfast. Amazing olive oil, tasty tomatoes, good coffee. The man who runs it really cares about the quality and origen of each ingredient. It's nice for a cafe to actually want to give the clients the best instead of just the cheapest and still maintain reasonable prices.
Therese Lind★★★★★
A beautiful and cozy café with a relaxed, stylish atmosphere. The coffee was excellent and it’s the perfect place to slow down and enjoy the moment. David, the owner, is not only very welcoming but also incredibly charming – the kind of person who makes you want to stay a little longer than planned. Thank you for the warm welcome… I might just come back again soon ☕️

A newly opened hidden gem. The guy running the place is one of the nicest, most helpful guys you can imagine. Food was simple, fresh and absolutely delicious. Coffee was the best bean juice in town. If you want to go to a nice tapas/breakfast Cafe with amazing everything and reasonable prices, then this place is it. I'm a certified broke student, and sitting here working on my laptop for 3 hours didn't ruin me.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ A wonderful place for breakfast! The food was fresh, healthy, and full of flavor. The menu offers great nutritious options, and everything was beautifully presented. The atmosphere was calm, cozy, and perfect for starting the day. The staff were friendly and welcoming, making the whole experience even better. I highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a delicious and healthy breakfast in a beautiful setting. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Fantastic coffee and eggs Benedict 😋. Parking is difficult but it's worth finding somewhere and walking 20mins!! The hollandaise sauce tasted homemade and lots of love (lamb lettuce) on the plate. My brunch was made with pride and so was the coffee. ❤️
Ali★★★★★
This cozy coffee shop is in a peaceful area, with a beautiful park right in front of it, allowing you to enjoy your order in a lovely setting. There’s also an indoor play area for children, perfect if you prefer they play inside rather than outside the park. The staff offers a warm welcome, and the coffee and pastries are delightful. It’s a great place to relax and enjoy your day leisurely. The menu is a combination of French and East European. I ordered Syrniki and Napoleon Cake for the first time, and I would say they were good, and I liked it; they promised to add Medovik and Quiche.
Neha Singh★★★★★
The best coffee in Mijas/Fuengirola hands down! Do ask for the double shot latte, it is just amazing 🙂 and of course the spicy shakshuka which bursts with flavor. The owner is very friendly and kind, and the cafe also has a play area for kids which my 3 year old absolutely loved. We will continue to come back here on our future visits to the area.
Yvonne Wilson★★★★★
A wonderful experience. The owner, Julian, provided us with excellent service. The eggs Benedict was tasty. Loved that the brioche was not sweet like some others I tasted. The restaurant is small but comfortable. Took home a slice of pistachio cheesecake that I am looking forward to eating. Definitely will go back.

Absolutely love this place - a family favourite for brunch! Plenty of options, and everything is fresh and beautifully presented. The cocktails and speciality coffees & smoothies etc are just as impressive - really well made and feel like a little treat! The staff are always friendly and attentive. Highly recommend!
Oona Vatjus★★★★★
Woow so nice food and staff!! The location is nice, right next to the beach. It was a little bit hot because there was not aircon. A perfect place for a brunch, when you want something good and well presented. Prices are a bot high compared to spanish cafes but the portions were very beautiful and good size + big menu. Worth to try! Smoothies were great 😍

We visited Brunch La Bohemia by Copa d’Oro twice and both times we enjoyed sitting outside on the terrace. The first time we had the Moroccan breakfast and the Trio La Bohemia, both very tasty. The cappuccino was good as well, and the orange juice was nice and fresh, served in a large glass with ice. The second time, the club sandwich was really good; you could clearly taste all the ingredients. The croquettes were a bit disappointing though, quite bland and lacking flavor, even with the sauce. Overall, good service and a nice place to sit. I would definitely recommend it.
Melinda Lipták★★★★★
I had the home made lemonade, asian poke bowl with pulled pork and of course at the end a delicious dessert New York Roll with Nutella + coffee. Lots of selection for breakfast and lunch, presentation on the plate is beautiful, waiting time for food is good, no long waiting definitely, prices are very friendly, staff kind, helpful. Highly recommended!
D Elson★★★★★
Lovely food, very fresh reasonably priced and looked as good as it tasted. Staff were friendly and polite. Would recommend and would definitely visit again as the menu had plenty of choices.

Excellent oat cappuccino. I have tried all the different beans including decaf and all were really good. Each cappuccino was prepared with attention and love, the consistency over 3 days was incredible. That shows real love for what someone does. I can also highly recommend the alfajores, so tasty, not too sweet and a very nice addition to the coffee. I also had an avocado toast - delicious again. It can get full due to limited space, so be prepared for some waiting in case you want a seat outside. The location is also nice, just a little away from the main street and therefore relatively quiet. I will certainly come back once in the area.
Cristina Uzunia★★★★★
Such a lovely place! We enjoyed everything! The coffee was so good and also the lemon pie and the gluten free muffin were amazing! Very friendly staff, clean place and pleasant atmosphere.

A fantastic spot for specialty coffee in Fuengirola! The coffee was expertly prepared. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming, creating a relaxed atmosphere from the moment we arrived. A real hidden gem for coffee lovers.

Fantastic cafe!! 👌 Nice and cozy place! One of the best coffee we have ever tried ☕️ (They must use very good quality coffee grains, I'm sure 😁) Cafe offers HOMEMADE cakes as well. We tried vanilla and blueberry muffins and banana bread. Yummy 😋! Very friendly and welcoming owner of the cafe adviced us where to find good churros and local fish restaurant 👌 Recommend! 👍

Best tapas restaurant in Fuengirola. The gnocchi and the panini sandwiches are fantastic. Has to try. Signature cocktails and the staff is very polite. Just sit and enjoy the day with a seaview.

Fairplay, it looks nice, great position. Thats it. The missus and I ordered the 5 tapas deal they had running, with a seperate olive, cheese and tomato tapa. The olive, cheese and tomato plate is the only one we saw. It was underwhelming to say the least. We waited thinking the rest would follow. It never did. Meanwhile, 2 members of our family joined us. They ordered Piña colada's. They arrived with 80% foam in them. After asking for the bill, I asked the waiter to check his device to see if he ever put our order for the 5 tapas deal through. He didn't. No apology or anything, just smiled at me. Then I noticed on the bill that they charged me €33+ for 3 rum and cokes. The whole bill came to €99+ Not great value, rubbish service and there's plenty of better options nearby.

Nice place close to the beach! Good tasty food, friendly service, we enjoyed our dinner there. Also close to the beach.
Dave Savage★★★★★
We found this place by accident as it was our first day in Fuengirola and it was chucking down with rain. We took shelter here as the place was very busy so that was a good sign for me. The decor is modern and welcoming. We didn’t eat any mains as we needed a sugar rush so opted for the desserts. The presentation was great and the desserts were freshly prepared. I have a sweet tooth and I was not disappointed. The crepe was light and tasty. The brownie was to die for! Very rich and contained nuts together with the vanilla ice cream, I was in heaven! A great start to our holiday!
Sean Mayes★★★★☆
Modern cafe bar with beautiful decor and fantastic menu. We ordered nachos, chicken quesadillas and a club sandwich as well as the drinks in the photos. All were made to a high standard and there was plenty of food with each portion. This is a lovely place with friendly, helpful staff. Highly recommended.

By far the worst English breakfast I have had. Sausages were strange small can sausages and the beans tasted sour with strange bubbles in the sauce and eggs were undercooked. For 8.95 euro you would expect a descent English breakfast and not this.

Absolute Amazing experience, The owner Scott is a true gent, and he had Irn Bru! His burger and chips were fab and the conversation was great, Will definitely go again when I'm back in Spain, no request was too much for even the fussiest eater!
David Murphy★★★★★
I have to be honest, I’m ridiculously fussy when it comes to food. If there’s something wrong with a breakfast, I’ll find it! So after seeing Scoffers mentioned time and time again while searching for the best English breakfast in Fuengirola, I thought I’d put the reviews to the test. Well, I’m happy to report that the reviews weren’t lying. Scoffers Café serves, without a doubt, the best breakfast in Fuengirola. Everything was spot on, from the quality of the food to the generous portions and friendly service. Finding a breakfast this good is rarer than finding a sunbed by the pool in July, so if you're in Fuengirola, do yourself a favour and pay them a visit. Just remember, when you're sitting there enjoying the best breakfast in town, you can quietly thank me for pointing you in the right direction!

Wonderful cafe for meals Staff are excellent and friendly, you always get a warm welcome from Scott and the staff. They also really appreciate your custom. They are busy throughout the day, but they will always try and get you a table or let you know approximately how long you may have to wait. The quality of the food is excellent, we have never had a bad experience here. Well worth giving them ago.

Was looking for a new place for brunch. Although the restaurant was very busy we found a seat The cafe is open an airy. The menu has excellent choices for breakfast. We choose the eggs Benedict. It was tasty and large enough to share. There was a lovely display counter filled with good looking pastries. I will be back

I’m sitting here right now in the middle of the best brunch I’ve ever had. Everything we’ve ordered has been spectacular. The drinks are perfect, the food is phenomenal, the vibes immaculate. The servers are so friendly. If you told me that this would cost 500eur it’d be worth it, and the best part is it’s so well priced. I’m delighted to have found this spot

This is our 5th time to the Caffe. It’s a very unique spot, with really amazing and tasty food. For me the shakshuka is by far the best you will try and find on the whole coast! The staff is amazing, kind and attentive. The food never disappoints. A definit place to try and worth the travel!
Hamad Al Ali★★★★★
We arrived at the place which was recommended by a friend and we greeted by Yolanda who made us feel extremely welcomed, and when it was time for us to order the food, she was very attentive to our requests and was very patient in taking the time to explain everything and give us something particular to our request. Once the food arrived, the presentation was immaculate, everything smelled amazing and all the glasses and utensils were clean (didn’t smell of eggs like many other brunch breakfast places we’ve been to) When we started eating the food we were shocked with how it was so delicious, we literally enjoyed every bite. This is easily the best breakfast place I’ve been to in Costa Del Sol. Everything was on point, from the amazing service by Yolanda to the scrumptious food. I highly recommend this place and with the team all the best !

The food was delicious and the service quick & friendly! Our waiter was patient with our Spanish, though he spoke good English. There are tables on the sidewalk with umbrellas & fun seating inside with a beach vibe.
Mr Farrell★★★☆☆
Right. So. We wandered into Lorena Café in Fuengirola one morning, and you could tell straight away this place is the real deal. Absolutely packed with locals — a proper change from the usual beach spots peddling sad excuses for breakfast. We went for the eight-euro breakfast deal, which included fruit, a coffee, and either a soft drink or juice. My mate went for the orange juice and an espresso, trying to look like a sophisticated gentleman, while I went for the classic cappuccino and a Coke — a combination that would probably make most baristas weep. The deal itself? Great value. The sandwiches were tasty, the coffee was proper, and it all looked fairly decent... except for my piece of fruit. The apple looked like it had just come back from a war — absolutely battered, bruised all over, and barely clinging to life. I almost felt bad for eating it. The service? Utter chaos. The lad taking the order completely forgot about the water, so we ended up getting our sandwiches about ten minutes after the coffees, and no napkins arrived. If you’ve got a beard, be prepared to either wear half your sandwich or start begging for napkins in advance. Then, when it came time to pay, they tried to charge us twice for the water — the same water that had mysteriously vanished earlier. Absolutely bizarre. That said, the place was buzzing. The terrace was full of life, locals chatting away, and it all felt properly authentic. I, of course, got stuck at the corner table, roasting in the sun, nearly melting my giant Irish head. Luckily, we eventually got the water just in time to stop me from evaporating. If they could sort out the napkins, bring the food and coffee at the same time, and maybe show a bit of mercy to the fruit, it would be an absolute top spot. All in all, Lorena Café is lively, local, and worth the chaos — just come prepared with sunscreen, patience, and maybe your own apple.
Darren★★★★★
Honestly had one of the best sandwiches I’ve had in Spain. The Serranito Iberico is what I would recommend.
Paul Andrews★★☆☆☆
Pretty disapointed really and I feel that this place has gone down hill since last year, the food good, but the service awfull, must because I'm english and they prefer the locals

We had afternoon snack, drinks, juice, milkshakes & chocolate donuts 🍩 They were ok, The price was above Spanish price. Prepare to pay back home prices.

Practical Tips for Enjoying Fuengirola’s Café Culture

To make the most of your café visits in Fuengirola, it helps to understand a few local rhythms and customs that shape the experience. The following tips will save you time, help you avoid tourist traps, and ensure you get the same quality that keeps locals coming back.

  1. Learn the local coffee vocabulary. A café con leche is half coffee and half hot milk, while a cortado is a small espresso with just a splash of milk. If you want a large filter coffee, ask for café americano or look for specialty shops that offer batch brew.

  2. Timing matters for a quiet table. Spanish breakfast hours run from about 8:00 to 11:00, but many trendy brunch cafés don’t fill up until 10:30. Arrive before 10:00 if you want to secure a shaded terrace seat without waiting.

  3. Bring cash for smaller traditional bars. While most modern cafés accept cards and mobile payments, some family-run churrerías and older bars in Los Boliches still operate on a cash-only basis for small orders.

  4. Look for the “menú del día” sign at lunch. Several excellent cafés pivot to a fixed-price lunch menu between 13:00 and 16:00. These menus often include a coffee, a main dish, and a dessert for less than the price of two separate brunch items.

  5. Don’t be afraid to ask for tap water. In Spain, it is normal to request agua del grifo alongside your coffee. Most reputable cafés in Fuengirola will happily provide a glass or bottle of filtered tap water free of charge.

  6. Check the terrace orientation before sitting down. The afternoon sun can be intense, especially from June through September. A table that looks perfect at 9:00 may be unbearable by noon, so glance at where the shade will move before you commit.

  7. Use the café as a base for exploring. Many of the best cafés sit within a ten-minute walk of the Sohail Castle, the Bioparc, or the Paseo Marítimo. Grab your coffee to go and walk the coastal path, or plan a stop before visiting the Tuesday market.

Fuengirola’s café scene rewards curiosity. The best experiences often happen when you step away from the main promenade and wander one street inland, where quieter plazas and family-run roasters serve some of the most carefully crafted coffee on the coast.

Take your time, order a second cup, and let the rhythm of the city slow you down. That, after all, is exactly what a good café is supposed to do.
