Wandering through the historic streets around Plaza de Toros de la Real Maestranza in Seville, you are standing at the crossroads of monumental grandeur and authentic Andalusian daily life. The bullring’s iconic white and ochre facade anchors the scenic banks of the Guadalquivir River, making it a natural starting point for exploring the Barrio del Arenal. This neighborhood, once home to the sailors and silversmiths who shaped Seville’s golden age, now hums with the aroma of freshly pulled espresso and toasted bread drizzled with olive oil.
The local breakfast culture is a cherished ritual that stretches well beyond the typical hotel buffet. Sevillanos often start light with a café con leche and a tostada, but brunch has evolved into a vibrant weekend social event. Understanding the difference between a quick, standing breakfast at a bar and a leisurely seated brunch will help you navigate the area like a local rather than a tourist.
Because the Maestranza sits so close to the river and the Cathedral, foot traffic is constant, and quality can vary wildly from one doorway to the next. The best tables are rarely the ones with the biggest neon signs; they are the ones filled with the chatter of neighbors and the clinking of ceramic cups. You want to find places that respect the raw ingredients—ripe tomatoes, cured Iberian ham, and freshly baked bread—without charging a premium simply for the view.
In this guide, we focus on spots that offer genuine value, consistency, and a warm welcome. Whether you need a quick fuel-up before visiting the bullring or a long, lazy brunch after a morning run along the river, the immediate radius of the Maestranza offers surprising variety. From traditional Andalusian bars that have barely changed in decades to modern, health-conscious cafes, there is a table for every mood.
Navigating the narrow, shaded alleys around Calle Adriano and Calle Antonia Díaz reveals a dense concentration of culinary talent. You will notice that many of the classic options serve "media tostadas" or "montaditos," which allow you to sample multiple flavors without committing to one heavy plate. Meanwhile, the newer establishments cater to international palates with eggs benedict, avocado toast, and specialty coffee.
The proximity to the river breeze makes outdoor seating particularly pleasant in the morning, before the Andalusian sun reaches its peak intensity. However, securing a terrace table on a Sunday requires patience or an early start. Locals tend to brunch late, often arriving around 11:30 AM, so arriving just after opening can secure you a prime spot without the wait.
Finally, remember that breakfast in Seville is rarely rushed. Waiters will not bring the check until you ask for it, and lingering over a second coffee is not just accepted but expected. The goal of this list is to highlight places where the food is excellent, but the atmosphere allows you to soak in the unique energy of the Arenal district.
Here are the best breakfast and brunch spots near Plaza de Toros de la Real Maestranza, chosen for their consistency, atmosphere, and authentic local flavor.

Went with a group and ordered variety of items. It's amazing how they are able to perfect the different food options
Highly recommend pancakes and french toast if you want sweet
Pistachio latte was delicious
Mala and impossible burger were amazing as well
You can't go wrong with any options
Only caveat the wait is long. Took us 45 min to get a table. Come early !

Absolutely the best food I’ve ever had! Every dish was incredibly delicious, and the presentation was simply outstanding. You can tell that every detail is carefully thought out. The atmosphere was amazing, the service was excellent, and I can’t wait to come back. Highly recommended!

My favourite breakfast / brunch place in Seville! The food is amazing and a good price. It tastes so fresh and there are English menu’s if needed. The staff also speak English which is very helpful and there are lots of good food options available. Sometimes it can take a while to pay if the place is busy but I definitely recommend it (especially the mascarpone pancakes and orange juice). It is also worth noting that it can get busy quite early on in the day so if you’re coming for breakfast, I recommend coming as soon as it opens to avoid queues.

For two days in a row went for brunch there. Saturday was bit busier so had to wait in line for about 10 min but it was definitely worth the wait. Portions great, menu big and actually interesting and representation amazing. Highly recommend it and cannot wait to come back.

Excellent place for breakfast. Our favourite throughout our stay in Seville. The poached eggs are perfectly cooked. Offers good value in today's climate.

Uğurcan MALGAZ★★★★★
We had a wonderful breakfast experience at La Mala Brunch! We customized their Eggs Benedict toast by asking them to remove the bacon, and it was absolutely amazing with its sauce and bread. The pistachio cream croissant was also really good. Based on the reviews, we ordered the mascarpone pancake, and it was delicious too. In short, no matter what you order here, it is truly flavorful. The staff is very friendly, welcoming, and solution-oriented. A fantastic breakfast spot in Seville that I highly recommend without hesitation!
Yayi Girl★★★★★
Delicious! Our waiter was very kind and attentive from the moment we sat down. Everything is made to order, which you can really taste in the quality. The coffee was also a standout — made just the way you like it. We’ll definitely be back!

Excellent brunch at La Mala Brunch!
We had several breakfasts there during our stay and everything was absolutely perfect. The place is modern and pleasant, although it can get a bit noisy during busy hours, which also shows how popular the restaurant is.
The menu is very varied, with both indulgent and healthy options: pancakes, bagels, bowls, brunch burgers, fresh smoothies… it’s hard to choose because everything looks delicious.
The products are fresh, beautifully presented, and the portions are generous.
A real favorite in Seville, both for the quality of the food and the atmosphere. This place truly deserves its excellent Google rating. We would definitely recommend it and gladly come back!

During my stay in Seville, this hidden gem was right in front of the apartment we rented. I initially stopped by for a coffee, but the menu looked so appetizing that I decided to order the club sandwich as well, and it was amazing! They offer both indoor and outdoor seating. The staff were super friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. A very cool spot with excellent food and coffee. Highly recommended!

One of the best and delicious brunch ever had.
The place is a little bit busy and there is a waiting list, but definitely worth the wait.
Coffee came hot and strong, food was super tasty, fresh and delicious too.
Everything was top notch quality indeed.
This is a highly recognizable place in Seville.

Anna Archetti★★★★★
Perfect spot for brunch, with options for every taste, both savory and sweet. They also offer many vegetarian options for savory dishes. It’s located in a central area of the city and is small but well-designed. There are seats both indoors and outdoors, making it perfect for a meal that’s a little different from the usual. The service was reasonably fast, and all the staff were kind and polite. I highly recommend it.
Hannah Balogun★★★★★
I visited Moya today for breakfast, and it was amazing!! Not only was the cafe really aesthetically pleasing and beuatiful, the food was amazing, the drinks were great, the vibes were nice, the staff was amazing, especially Jara. She was really friendly, accomodating, and sweet.
Overall, amazing vibes, I would definitely come back! I got the waffle, eggs, avocado, and bacon, and just a great start to my day overall. Thank you, Jara and Moya once again for your great hospitality.
Sanne★★★★★
We absolutely loved Moya — so much that we came here every single day during our week in Sevilla. My brother had recommended it from a previous trip, and he was absolutely right.
I ordered the Açaí Bowl every morning, he always took the Tropical Smoothie Bowl, and another in our group went for the hummus avocado toast. All of it was consistently delicious, fresh, and beautifully prepared. The coffee was also really good — we tried both regular‑milk and oat‑milk cappuccinos (the small ones) and both were excellent.
The juices were a bit on the sour side for my taste, but everything else was perfect.
The staff were genuinely friendly and attentive. By the end of the week, they didn’t even need to ask for my order anymore — they remembered it.
The vibe isn’t traditional Spanish; it’s more of a Bali‑style, pink, “Instagrammable” brunch spot. Not usually my type of atmosphere, but the food is absolutely amazing, so it didn’t matter at all.
Truly highly, highly, highly recommend. One of our favourite breakfast places in Sevilla.
Pieter Cools★★★★★
What a pleasant surprise to discover near our hotel. A vibrant place with pink accents that immediately lightens up your day. We took the waffle with omelette and avocado and the açaí bowl. Both were freshly made and delicious. But the real star was the coffee, a Burundi origin coffee with nice floral notes and a pleasant non bitter finish. Will come back here tomorrow!
Sonia Petrini★★★★☆
Lovely spot in a small street 🙂 exactly what I was looking for. The chai latte had the perfect sweetness and temperature, and the corn fritters were good, although the avocado could've been better. I had no problem finding a place to eat, and it was not too crowded despite being Sunday. Overall very good experience! Service was very welcoming.

The food is fresh, healthy, and packed with flavor. Their coffee is fantastic, and the attention to detail is top-notch. What truly makes this place special, though, is the staff. They are exceptionally kind, professional, and welcoming. If you are looking for a great start to your morning in Seville, do not miss this lovely spot.
Highly recommended! 😊

We found this vibrant cafe, tucked into a street near our hotel. A perfect place to stop for fresh, healthy food with such a variety! We visited twice and would recommend. Really sets you up for a great start to a busy day. The food and coffee were excellent and the service quick, considering options and variety being prepared. A busy corner but we only waited 5 mins for a table to be cleared. Staff were so friendly and thanks to the Irishman who encouraged me to speak in Spanish! We’ll visit again on a future trip. Disfrutes… give it a try!
Savannah Cooper★★★★★
What a cozy cutie vibe, not the mention the food was very yummy too! We shared an açaí bowl, the Mediterranean tostada, and mango bagel sandwich. All were super delicious and had a great presentation. The golden latte felt like it was made of tumeric and milk, which was not for us, but they had many other drinks. The staff were also very kind. A good place for locals and tourists as they had an English menu and were understanding with my rough Spanish.
Ömer G.★★★★★
Foods were absolutely delicious. The person who served us was very kind and friendly. If you’re looking to enjoy a tasty and relaxing brunch in a cozy, boutique spot on a quiet street, I would definitely recommend this place.
Claudia Decicco★★★★★
We had the pleasure to enjoy a breakfast at Chia. The quality of ingredients is great, both for sweet and salty options. The place is tiny but comfortable and the two guys managing are making their best to give the best experience to the people on the inside. No queue in front of the place, they will accomodate you only if there is space to give everyone the best experience

We had an amazing breakfast here! Everything was fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. The food exceeded our expectations, and the atmosphere made the whole experience even better.
A special thank you to Enrique for his outstanding service. He was friendly, attentive, and professional, making us feel genuinely welcome from start to finish. His excellent customer service made our visit even more enjoyable.
Highly recommended—we’ll definitely be back!

We visited for Sunday breakfast at opening time to avoid the busy period. We have visited the Barcelona site 2 years earlier and were pleased to recognise the same style, menu and details in Sevilla. The Eggs Benedict is lovely as are the fluffy pancakes. However, a whole portion can be a struggle to finish for one person as they are quite thick and the portion size is huge for a sweet plate of food! The avocado toast was also enjoyed and we loved the sheet of chia that was cleverly incorporated into the dish! Drinks are also good with a decent selection of hot and iced coffees to kickstart the day.
Ankur Verma★★★★★
Finally, we ended up going to this place that was really close to our hotel. It was recommended by a friend of ours, and honestly, it turned out to be one of the best places to just relax and unwind. The atmosphere was incredibly peaceful, the vibes were amazing, and the food was genuinely good too. After a long day, it was exactly the kind of spot we needed.
And the best part — they had free internet finally! The staff also spoke English, which made everything so much easier and more comfortable for us. Overall, we had an amazing time there and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a chill and cozy place to enjoy good food and relax.
Anna Skelding★★★★★
Ate here twice as it was so good! All of the staff are very attentive and welcoming as well as speedy with the service! The food was very reasonably priced as were drinks which made the experience even better.

Great brunch place with variety of options in the menu. The superfood omelette (spinach, kale, parsley) was very delicious served with tasty sourdough bread and it is generous in portion! Coffee was average in taste, could have been better.
Next time I will definitely try out their fluffy pancakes which also looks amazing!

A popular breakfast place with indoor and outdoor seating. The servers are very friendly and they try to accommodate any requests/changes to orders. The service was fast and the food did not disappoint. The eggs benedict was really good, the eggs were perfectly cooked, the bacon and hollandaise sauce tasted good together. The pancakes were warm and fluffy and delicious! The omelette was seasoned well and the Moroccan tea transported me back to Morocco.

I had the Superfood Omelette, and I found it to be extremely fresh and filling. I also ordered the red detox, which was refreshing and tasty. Enrique’s customer service is top notch; he is very warm and friendly. The outdoor seating is great. I’d definitely recommend this place and I would come back here again!
Zahira Moukhlis★☆☆☆☆
The presentation of the dishes was beautiful, but unfortunately that was the only positive part of the experience. The food had almost no flavour and was very bland. The coffee also had a strange, unpleasant taste. To make matters worse, the egg dishes served during brunch had a very strong smell, which made them difficult to enjoy. Overall, the restaurant looks nice, but the quality and taste of the food were very disappointing.

We had an absolutely amazing breakfast at Billy Brunch! The food was fantastic, but what really stood out was the incredible service. The gentleman who served us was outstanding, especially with our children. He was so friendly, welcoming and attentive, which made the whole experience even better.
We would definitely recommend Billy Brunch to anyone looking for a great breakfast and excellent service. We will 100% be going back again! Thank you for making our visit so enjoyable. 🙌🍳🥓

Absolutely outstanding brunch experience in Seville!
We visited Billy Brunch on a beautiful morning in Seville and it instantly became one of the highlights of our trip. From the moment we walked in, the vibrant yet relaxed atmosphere, stylish decor, and mouthwatering menu had us excited.
The food was exceptional — generous portions, fresh ingredients, and perfectly executed dishes. The pancakes were fluffy and decadent, the Eggs Benedict had that perfect runny yolk, and the avocado toast was elevated with delicious toppings. Everything was packed with flavor, and they had great options for different dietary preferences too. The coffee was strong and smooth — exactly what we needed to start the day right.
But what truly made our visit special was our incredible server, Rocio. She was amazing from start to finish! So friendly, attentive, and full of great recommendations. Rocio made us feel genuinely welcome, checked in at the perfect moments, and had the warmest smile the whole time. Her service went above and beyond — she made our meal feel personal and extra enjoyable. Thank you, Rocio!
Billy Brunch is a must-visit if you’re in Seville. Whether you’re craving all-day breakfast, healthy options, or something indulgent, this place delivers on every level. We’ll definitely be back on our next trip to Andalusia.
Highly recommend — 10/10!

This is our second time back. We came back for the sangria. Tried sangria at multiple places and this was by far the best. The Greek salad and the pastrami sandwich was fantastic. The service was on pint and the atmosphere relaxing and cool as they had ac inside. It was hot outside but the ac was refreshing. If it wasn’t hot the patio was adorable. Definitely a go back place.

This was perfect for what I was looking for as I strolled seeking breakfast. I didn’t get anything fancy, just bacon & eggs with a Berries Smoothie. The smoothie was refreshing and had no added sugar. We ate at a cute little table with a window which was perfect for people watching. The waiter was courteous, and the service was fast!

If you’re looking for the best brunch in Seville, Milky Way deserves a spot on your list. From the food to the service, everything was excellent.
My daughter ordered the Energizer Açaí Bowl and rated it a 10/10. The pistachio pancakes were fluffy and flavorful, the matcha tea was perfectly prepared, and the Caprese burrata sandwich was fresh, filling, and delicious. My caramel macchiato was the perfect complement to brunch.
What made the experience even better was the customer service. We had just arrived in Seville and were waiting for check-in at our Airbnb. The staff graciously welcomed us and our luggage, making us feel comfortable and cared for from the moment we walked in.
For anyone searching for a top-rated brunch restaurant in Seville with great coffee, açaí bowls, specialty drinks, pancakes, sandwiches, and exceptional service, Milky Way is an easy recommendation. The fact that we ate everything before remembering to take photos says it all.
M Ra7bi★★★★☆
I visited this place for breakfast. The space is large, clean, and operates on a self-service system where you order via QR code and pay directly, which is quite convenient. They offer a good variety of food options.
I ordered a flat white, but the coffee was not very well executed. I believe there is room for improvement, both in the choice of beans and the preparation.
The food, however, was very delicious and clearly made with care. The staff were also very friendly.
I am giving this place 4 stars mainly because the coffee could be improved.
Harsh Patel★★★★☆
Our first brunch stop of the day and we had planned ahead with a reservation. Seated right away and ordered conveniently via phone.
Here's what we ordered:
Choco Acai Bowl: Pretty mid overall. The acai came out a bit watery, though the housemade peanut butter was a saving grace and absolutely delicious.
Caprese Panini: The best burrata I've ever had. Perfectly crispy sandwich with a fresh and flavorful combination of ingredients. A must order.
The bowls have room to improve but the panini more than made up for it. Worth a visit for that alone!
starczynski★★★★★
One of the best breakfast I had in Seville. Lots of options even do vegans and vegetarians. Smoothie bowls, sandwiches, bagels! You get good food for low price!
Try pickles, they are so good!
Dinesh Patel★★★★★
The restaurant from outside looked appealing, and once inside, very clean and great atmosphere.
We being vegetarian, were not sure, but very quickly Manuel and Carmen quickly assured us, they will customise to our requirements.
We ordered off menu, and each time quality was great. Panini, croissants, bagels
We returned here every morning for 5 days for our breakfast, greeted very warmly by everyone.
No lunch as would not be in the area after breakfast.
Tips for Enjoying Breakfast and Brunch Near the Maestranza
Knowing a few local customs can elevate your morning from a simple meal to a truly authentic experience. The rhythm of Seville’s breakfast scene is unique, and small adjustments to your timing and ordering style can save you time and money while ensuring you eat like an insider. Use these practical strategies to navigate the area’s culinary landscape with confidence.
Timing is Everything
If you want a quiet, relaxed breakfast, go before 10:00 AM. The local rush for the first coffee of the day happens early, but the brunch crowd peaks between 11:30 AM and 1:00 PM. On weekends, expect to wait for a table at the most popular spots if you arrive after 11:00 AM.
Order the Local Staple First
While many places offer international brunch items, you should try the traditional Andalusian breakfast at least once. Ask for a "tostada con tomate y aceite" (toasted bread with crushed tomato and olive oil) or a "mollete" (a soft, flat roll) with Iberian ham. It is simple, affordable, and often the best item on the menu.
Choose Your Coffee Wisely
Coffee in Spain is strong and served in specific styles. "Café con leche" is half coffee, half hot milk. "Café solo" is a strong espresso. If you want a larger, weaker coffee like an Americano, ask for a "café americano." For iced coffee in the summer, order a "café con hielo," which comes with a glass of ice.
Look for the "Desayuno" Special
Many traditional bars offer a breakfast combo that includes coffee, juice, and a toast for a fixed price. This is usually the best value in the area. Check the chalkboards outside or ask for the "desayuno especial" before ordering à la carte items, which can add up quickly.
Respect the Terrace Etiquette
Sitting outside costs more than standing at the bar or sitting inside at many traditional establishments. If you are on a budget or in a hurry, eat at the bar like a local. If you choose the terrace, you are paying for the real estate and the view, so take your time and enjoy it.
The area surrounding the Plaza de Toros de la Real Maestranza is a living, breathing part of Seville’s culinary identity. It offers a rare blend of history and modernity, where you can sip a specialty latte in a minimalist café while looking out at a building that has stood for centuries. The energy here is different from the more tourist-heavy streets near the Cathedral; it feels slightly more grounded and residential.
As you finish your meal, consider taking a slow walk along the Paseo de Cristóbal Colón to digest and watch the rowers on the Guadalquivir. The best mornings in this city are not rushed; they are spent savoring the food, the architecture, and the company. Whether you chose a classic toast with ham or a plate of fluffy pancakes, you have experienced a vital part of what makes Seville so captivating.
