10 Best Breakfast and Brunch Near La Pedrera – Casa Milà

Wandering through the winding streets of Barcelona’s Eixample district, the undulating stone facade of La Pedrera – Casa Milà stands as Gaudí’s final great civic masterpiece. After climbing its warrior-like chimneys and marveling at the attic’s organic arches, your appetite will likely be as awakened as your artistic senses. The area surrounding this UNESCO World Heritage site is not just a hub for architecture lovers; it is a vibrant culinary landscape waiting to be explored.

Finding a quality meal in such a tourist-heavy zone can be tricky, as flashy signs and overpriced menus often overshadow genuine local flavor. However, Barcelona rewards those who know where to look, with hidden gems tucked away on side streets just a short walk from Passeig de Gràcia. From traditional Catalan farmhouse fare to innovative international brunches, the neighborhood offers a diverse range of morning dining experiences.

Whether you are an early riser looking for a strong espresso and a flaky pastry before the museum opens, or a late sleeper seeking a leisurely weekend brunch with bottomless mimosas, this area has you covered. The key is to balance convenience with authenticity, ensuring you do not fall into a tourist trap. You want to eat where the locals linger over their pa amb tomàquet and read the morning paper.

This guide focuses on quality, atmosphere, and value, ensuring your culinary experience matches the grandeur of the architecture you came to see. We have scoured the blocks surrounding Casa Milà to find the spots that offer the best balance of flavor and service. You will find options ranging from cozy coffee corners to elegant dining rooms, all within a ten to fifteen-minute walk of the iconic building.

For the traveler, breakfast in Barcelona is often a lighter affair, consisting of a croissant and a café amb llet, but the brunch culture has exploded in recent years. You can now find everything from shakshuka to avocado toast served alongside traditional Spanish tortillas. Knowing what you are in the mood for before you step out onto the street will save you time and ensure you get exactly what you crave.

We have personally visited these locations to assess the freshness of their ingredients, the consistency of their coffee, and the warmth of their hospitality. We prioritize establishments that respect the local culture while catering to international palates, ensuring you have a memorable start to your day. The recommendations below are designed to give you a reliable shortlist, removing the guesswork from your morning.

Without further delay, here are the top spots to refuel after taking in the surreal beauty of La Pedrera.

I've been there several times during cafe hours. They have a wide variety of drinks, and above all, the desserts are delicious. I wanted to try all the cakes. The restaurant's interior is also beautiful, making it perfect for a break.

We visited for the first time and overall, everything was good. We ordered the beetroot gnocchi salad and the salmon and avocado tartare, and both dishes were absolutely delicious and very fresh. The fresh orange juice was also great! The service was a little bit disorganized, but the place was quite busy, so it was understandable. Also, since the outdoor seating is right next to a busy street, it gets a bit noisy out there. Still, we had a great time and the food definitely made up for it!

The food was excellent and Benjamin provided wonderful service. He was very friendly, attentive and professional. We had a great experience.

Had a fantastic experience at La Pedrera. The food was absolutely amazing, full of flavour and beautifully presented. Everything from the atmosphere to the overall service was excellent. A special mention to Jorge, who provided outstanding customer service throughout our visit. He was friendly, attentive, professional, and made us feel very welcome. His service really added to the experience. Highly recommended, and I will definitely be coming back!

When you get tired of shopping, have a coffee or lunch in a building designed by Antoni Gaudí. The staff is friendly, and sitting outside is very pleasant.

Wow, just amazing! During my parents' and my stay in Barcelona, we went to Billy Brunch four mornings. The first time there, we fell in love with not only the most delicious food and coffee, but the service and the whole staff, from the front area, to our waiters, to the cooks and head chef, to one of the managers, Abdul, who made the visit that much better. Everyone was so welcoming, friendly, and warm, and provided amazing service the moment you stepped in the door. A super welcoming greeting when you walk in and a heartfelt thank you upon leaving. The food was DELICIOUS! We tried the omelette, the scrambled egg on toast, the Shakshouka, and my personal favorite, the Eggs Benedict. The Benedict's Hollandaise sauce was heavenly, with a delicious, creamy taste that wasn't overly salty, unlike other restaurants where I've had it. The lattes were creamy and smooth with just enough caffeine punch in the morning to give you that boost to wake up. Staying right around the corner from Billy Brunch, at the apartment we were renting out, was so convenient for us. If you happen to stay off Las Ramblas near Billy Brunch, run, don't walk, here to be treated to an amazing experience. Please let Abdul and the whole staff know what a pleasure it was to be treated like family, for our short time here in beautiful Barcelona! Gracias por las deliciosas comidas! Ciao!

Thought I could trust the Google reviews but unfortunately it was a letdown. Food portions were huge, we ordered the Club Sandwich and also the Eggs Benedict and tbh it's very, pretty average. I didn't finish the Club Sandwich as it's too much mayo on the chicken. Staff was very friendly and approachable. Probably would come if I'm looking for a decently more affordable place for breakfast. However, definitely not a place that blew me away.

This was a wonderful first breakfast in Barcelona! I had the Eggs Benedict as I saw it recommended and it was super good. The food came out super fast too. My boyfriend and mine dishes were incredible thanks to Chef Jamil. Quirli, our server was really nice. At the end, the check was presented in a mini egg carton which was so cute!
JorgeD★★★★★
I get the hype; it is a good brunch spot. The Eggs Benedict were definitely worth the wait. The pancakes, not so much, the ones I had were a bit dry and tough, nothing to write home about. The staff were very friendly. They make you feel right at home, and you can tell they enjoy having you there.

Billy Brunch has become one of my favorite breakfast spots in Barcelona, and as a regular customer, I can honestly say the quality and service have remained consistently excellent over time. The food is always fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. My personal favorites are the Eggs Benedict and the pancakes, which are always perfectly prepared. The coffee is great, and the menu offers plenty of options whether you’re looking for a healthy breakfast or something more indulgent. What keeps me coming back is not only the food but also the welcoming atmosphere. The staff are friendly, attentive, and make every visit enjoyable. Even during busy hours, the service is efficient and professional. It’s rare to find a place that maintains such high standards visit after visit. Billy Brunch is a must-visit for anyone looking for a quality breakfast or brunch experience in Barcelona. Highly recommended!

Really nice place and I appreciate their approach of having creatine and protein in their drinks. Since not many places do this, I would recommend them to offer sugar free protein drinks which are not with fruit, since in the end, its basically sugar. I would say their prices are pretty elevated and could be lower, especially for drinks but considering that it’s not the most typical brunch place, then I would understand. The lentils salad is really tasty with great seasonign but I would recommend they work on the amount since its really too little with almost no lentils and basically just rucula. Nice service and great waiters. Thank you!

An incredibly cozy and inviting atmosphere, complemented by genuinely warm and welcoming staff who made us feel at home from the moment we walked in. We ordered freshly pressed juices and smoothies, and they were absolutely delicious — vibrant, refreshing, and full of flavor. The homemade granola was beautifully presented and topped with an abundance of fresh fruit, making it as pleasing to the eye as it was to the palate. The sourdough toast with avocado and eggs was both hearty and deeply satisfying — perfectly balanced, rich in flavor, and wonderfully filling. Overall, an exceptionally impressive brunch experience, both in presentation and taste. Every detail felt thoughtful and carefully crafted. Highly recommended.
George Field★★★★★
Cool vegetarian brunch spot with an evening tapas restaurant connected next door. Menu is fully vegetarian with vegan options. The eggs were perfectly cooked on both the sourdough toasts. The chef's avocado and omelette toast with the vegan bacon was tasty, fresh and a good size! They have a good selection of drinks, including a few mushroom coffee blends which was pretty fun to try. We were quite lucky and got a table with no wait on a Sunday, but probably best to expect a short wait.

This was our very first meal in Barcelona, and it couldn't have been more perfect! If you’re looking for a real taste of the city away from the usual tourist crowds, this is exactly where you need to go. We sat outside, which had a lovely atmosphere, and the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming right from the start. For breakfast, my mom ordered the Shakshuka, and I went with the Eggs Benedict both dishes were absolutely amazing, fresh, and beautifully presented. I’m also posting a video here so you can see just how delicious everything looked. Highly recommend this place if you want incredible food and a great vibe in Barcelona. We will definitely be back!

THE BEST BRUNCH SPOT IN ALL OF BARCELONA. A must visit!!!! The food is TOP NOTCH, the coffee is out of this world (try the mushroom French press it’s unbelievable. Cafe on leche was silky smooth and rich). The service is unlike I’ve ever seen in Barcelona , and we’ve been everywhere. Cannot wait to come back!

Such a great cafe! The vibe is incredibly warm, cozy, and laid back. I ordered an entrepà, and it was very tasty, excellent quality with freshly baked bread and generous portions of jamón and arugula. You can truly tell they put a lot of love into their food. The service was friendly and efficient, too. It seems like a perfect spot to enjoy with love ones or to bring a laptop, so I’ll be back during the week to work for a bit and try more of their sandwiches and pastries. Highly recommend!

A wonderful stay in Barcelona! The pantry was one of the highlights—great selection and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Special thanks to Ali at the bakery for the friendly service, and to our Italian friend at check-in who made us feel right at home from the start. Ali and friends did a great job packing our pastry to take back to ny. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, and overall the staff was excellent throughout our stay. One small suggestion: the coffee and cappuccino could be a bit stronger and served hotter—but still enjoyable! Would definitely return and recommend to others visiting this beautiful city.

A legendary bakery in Barcelona! And truly, I haven't eaten bread like this in years, if not ever in my life! Excellent sandwiches, coffee, and what we love most: the daily rush of people stopping by before school, before work, or on their way to classes. And the absolutely delightful staff—young, helpful, polite, and fluent in English, patient with our attempts at conversation in Spanish!

Little Fern Café was without a doubt our favorite spot in Barcelona for breakfast, brunch, and coffee. During our one-week stay, we came here twice—and even after the trip, it’s one of the places we still talk about. The food is truly outstanding. The banana bread and the French toast were honestly the best I’ve ever had—no exaggeration. Both were perfectly balanced in flavor and texture, and you can really tell that a lot of care goes into the preparation. The coffee is just as impressive. I’m quite picky when it comes to flat whites, but the one here was excellent—smooth, rich, and very well made. What also makes this place special is the menu. It’s not your typical brunch offering—they have a variety of interesting international dishes, including Turkish eggs, which you don’t even easily find everywhere in Turkey. That alone says a lot about how unique and thoughtful their menu is. The overall atmosphere is welcoming and relaxed, making it a great place to start your day in Barcelona. All in all, this is a must-visit spot if you’re in the city. Whether you’re into great coffee, high-quality brunch, or just memorable food experiences, Little Fern Café absolutely delivers.

Exceptional attention to detail. The food was beautifully put together and the tastes were sublime. Set your expectations high. I had the Eggs Benny with a side of Avo. Every aspect of the dish was considered. The goldern turmeric hollandaise is no joke, the oyster mushroom is prepped by someone who knows how to entice every last ounce of umami from this noble shroom. The paprika dusting elevates the dish to comical heights - visually and sensorially. I almost wish I’d never had it. How will I ever go back to normal?! The flat white was also fantastic - but of course. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Still thinking about the eggs. Perfect yokes. The people next to me were raving about the kimchi pancakes for what it’s worth.
Jose Carballo★★★★★
Fourth day in Barcelona. Finally found a breakfast/brunch spot that hits right. We were helped by Julianna, who was super nice and welcoming. Their take on shashuka was delicious and artfully executed. The harissa eggs and salmon eggs Benedict were delicious as well. Their take on kimchi pancakes was also a pleasant surprise. I highly recommend Little Fern and these plates. Ask for Julianna !!!
Damian★★★★★
I had breakfast at Little Fern and it was really great. We waited about 5 minutes for a table, which was pretty quick and totally worth it. The food was fresh and tasty, but the French toast was the real star of the show. It was soft, sweet, and so good that I almost forgot to share (sorry, not sorry 😄). If breakfast had a superhero, this French toast would be wearing the cape!
Skye Guerreiro★★★★★
They said the vegan kimchi pancakes were good but qué exquisito!! Tiene mucho sabor! Every bite full of tantalising savoury flavours that never leave you bored. I paired it with the Ayurvedic tea. Service very friendly. It gets busy, if you’re after a cosy pace I’d recommend a late brunch.

Fresh, light, clean — and they have sweet and savory absolutely on lock. The staff was super friendly and everything from the food to the drinks was fantastic. Bonus points for fresh-squeezed orange juice made to order. The food looks exactly like the photos online — definitely a “phone eats first” kind of place — and the best part is it tastes just as good as it looks. And a fun surprise… they even have a disco bathroom. ✨

Had brunch here today and the food was on another level! We got the ottoman brunch and the salmon bowl. They did not disappoint. The ottoman brunch in particular was just delicious! We also had a chai latte and the ‘hulk’, both were great. The service was impeccable and the place had great laid back vibes. I would totally come back

My family and I enjoyed our visit at EatMyTrip! We were greeted with smiles and seated quickly. We ordered 2 Superfoods, a Guacascramble, and Jamon Iberico Benedict. Portions were large and food was delicious. Service was prompt and the girls that served us were attentive! They were willing to answer all of our questions and were patient when we were ordering. Would 100% recommend and look forward to returning!
Omri Ashkenazi★★★★★
We arrived around 11:00 AM as a couple with our baby, without a reservation, and only had to wait about 10–15 minutes. We sat outside, the food arrived quickly, and it was absolutely amazing!!! The waitress was kind, welcoming, and always smiling. Highly recommended! I especially recommend the Iberico Benedict — definitely add the avocado and jalapeños, it makes the dish even better! The only slightly disappointing thing was the matcha, which was not as good as the food.
Pali Girl★★★★★
It was our first time here, and it was an amazing experience! I have a gluten allergy, so I was relieved to find that the restaurant’s menu clearly indicates which dishes are gluten-free and which are not. They even have gluten-free bread, which is a huge plus. However, I decided to try their protein bowl, and it was absolutely delicious! My husband ordered the Canadian pancakes, and he raved about them, saying they were the best pancakes he’s had since visiting Barcelona. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, and the restaurant itself is charming and cozy.

The Mississippi pancakes were generous in portion but a little lacking in sweetness for my daughter’s taste. They could benefit from a bit more banana or fresh fruit to balance out the stack, especially given the size of the dish. The English breakfast was excellent, well-cooked and satisfying, and the side of chorizo stood out as particularly flavorful. Coffee was genuinely perfect, easily one of the highlights of the meal. The overall vibe is a classic European café style, relaxed and comfortable, good for a casual sit-down breakfast or brunch. One important note: this is not a place for traditional Spanish food. If you are looking for local Catalan or Spanish breakfast or tapas, this will feel more international than authentic. Overall, strong for coffee and comfort food, but not aligned with a traditional Barcelona culinary experience. Great service and free wifi.

Absolutely loved our meal at Milk! Every bite was delicious- enjoyed gyoza, mushroom/goat cheese croquettes, calamari, shrimp, pork tacos, harissa fries, chicken, housemade lemonade and excellent, warm service by Carla and Millie. Well-appointed, comfortable restaurant and excellent attention to detail. Highly recommend!

Went here for brunch this time, and the food isn’t anything extraordinary. Would recommend their tapas and evening menu more than their morning/brunch menu. But they have amazing service & a cosy place - perfect for a date night too!

Such a great spot for brunch. We got the pancakes and the Turkish eggs and both were absolutely delicious, honestly some of the best we had. The staff is fantastic, super patient and they take the time to explain the menu. Prices are really reasonable too. It does get pretty busy (it's Barcelona after all), so get there a bit early. Love the atmosphere, super cozy and comfy. Friendly service, amazing food, great options. Highly recommend!

Coffee Casa is such a lovely spot! I got the vanilla iced latte and it was absolutely delicious and perfectly made. The service was amazing, and the owner Philip was incredibly kind. We ended up having such a nice conversation, which made the whole experience feel really welcoming and personal. I also spotted their new tiramisu iced latte, and it looks amazing, so I’ll definitely be back to try that next time. Highly recommend if you’re looking for great coffee and genuinely friendly service!
Tomi★☆☆☆☆
The place is very overrated, the coffee was mediocre quality, and the barista on 29.03.2026 was very unfriendly. The place was nice however.. If you want good quality specialty coffee, don't come here. UPDATE: In my opinion, your response reflects a lack of the attitude expected in the horeca industry. Instead of showing empathy, it focuses on explaining why the customer’s opinion is not valid. Professionals usually start with a simple “sorry” — not necessarily admitting fault, but acknowledging the guest’s experience. When you have a 4.8 rating and people come from across Barcelona specifically to visit your place, expectations are naturally high. Not meeting those expectations is disappointing, regardless of the technical explanation. In horeca, you are often judged by your worst day, not your best ones — and this might be one of those moments.

As I was trying to leave the store after adding sugar, the Lady offered me more sweet pumps which made my drink perfectly the way I like, which is unreasonably sweet for a coffee 🤣 very cute spot. Highly recommend.

Brilliant, there was a line outside when I arrived… not suprised - it’s the best coffee in El Born. I would recommend the tiramisu latte, delicious! 👏

Edited review: always mistrust establishments who give you free food in exchange for 5 star rating. The waitress was super friendly to give me a free gluten free banana cake to go, I even tasted a sample it was ok (maybe the sample was fresher then the give away cakes), but then the free cake was soaked the bag in oil, tasted like 1 week old cake. Not worth it. The coffee was ok but you can find a lot better less than 5 min walking distance. "Super tasty banana cake that is also gluten free! Also grabbed the cold brew, super fresh and good quality coffee." This review no longer applies.

Amazing food!! We went here twice during our 4 days in Barcelona. The fist day we picked it cause it was close to the hotel and my toddler was hungry. There was no wait time and the staff were super friendly. Didnt wait long for the food after ordering. Second time there was a bit of a wait less than 15 minutes so it wasn't bad at all. Great food and great staff!! Totally worth it and definitely would recommend!

One of the best breakfasts I have ever had. Incredibly delicious food and very nice place. Our last meal of our first trip in Barcelona. We will surely come back.

Not the most American food but it checks a lot of the right boxes, but also strays into British breakfast territory confusingly. The pancakes are good, but not American pancakes, very cakey, honestly tastes closer to fair food, and comes with golden syrup instead of maple or table syrup, and don't come with butter, but some kind of cream? It was delicious however and the service was quick and friendly for how crowded it was. They also have vegan options for a lot of their meals which is a very welcome sight, the vegan breakfast meat is very delicious. I'd say more American-Spanish-British combo. Definitely worth a try.
Gabriela Abzueta★★★★★
Beautiful American brunch style! 🙂 pancakes are so well done! Oh yeah with a good maple syrope, feels like they make it with passion.. scrambled eggs are tasty and not greasy at all 🥰 The place is huge so you can easily find a spot in/outdoor and music is super good as well, not to loud so you can have a chat in peace while eating 🥹 I will absolutely come back 🙂

Worst Breakfast waffles in my life. They were moist, dough tasted fake, like the mixture from supermarket. Expected a crunchy waffle at least. Sandwich Lancaster was ok. Staff is pleasant. Prices and food quality don’t match. Overrated place. There are many more nice restos you can dine in Barcelona. Never again.

Absolutely incredible brunch experience! The chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries was so good—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. But the highlight for me was the green smoothie. It was incredibly fresh, delicious, and packed with that healthy, refreshing taste you want from a good smoothie. Everything tasted fresh and thoughtfully made. Definitely one of the brunch spots I’d recommend if you’re in Barcelona. I’ll definitely be coming back

To Natalia, Kiko and the kitchen staffs , thank you for accommodating us, for your friendly vibes and wonderful service. I recently enjoyed a wonderful breakfast experience that stood out both for its delicious food and exceptional service. The breakfast was fresh, well-prepared, and full of flavor, with a great variety of options that catered to different tastes. Long story short, it is my 4th time at this place, which means it is great! The location is easy to find, stuff is very friendly and always there for you, asking how's everything. The food is excellent: good variety of dishes, pleasant combinations of ingredients and a perfect balance of flavours. Just keepin mind: the food is so filling that you only feel hungry in the evening (I think this is a big advantage). I highly recommend visiting!

Essential Tips for Breakfast and Brunch Near La Pedrera

Navigating the dining scene in a busy metropolitan area like Eixample requires a bit of local know-how. To make the most of your morning meal and avoid the common pitfalls of dining near a major landmark, consider these practical strategies. They will help you eat better, save money, and experience the neighborhood like a true Barcelonian.

Understand the local schedule. Spaniards typically eat breakfast later than many Northern Europeans or Americans. While coffee shops open early for commuters, kitchens serving full brunch menus often do not start until 10:00 AM or 11:00 AM. If you are an early bird, plan for a light pastry and coffee first, then a heartier meal mid-morning.

Book ahead for weekend brunch. The area around Passeig de Gràcia is densely populated and popular with tourists. On Saturdays and Sundays, the best brunch spots fill up quickly, often with lines out the door by noon. If a restaurant accepts reservations, make one to avoid a long wait, especially if you are traveling with a group.

Look beyond the main avenue. Passeig de Gràcia is beautiful but often hosts the most expensive and least authentic dining options. Walk a few blocks east toward the Gràcia neighborhood or west toward the University district. The side streets, such as Carrer de Provença or Carrer de Rosselló, hide smaller, family-run cafes with better prices and more character.

Try the traditional Catalan breakfast. While avocado toast is ubiquitous, do not leave without trying pa amb tomàquet (bread rubbed with tomato and olive oil) topped with Iberian ham or a local cheese. Pair it with a fresh orange juice and a café amb llet for a true taste of the region.

Check for the Menú del Día transition. If your breakfast runs late, you might be able to take advantage of the Spanish lunch menu, which typically starts around 1:00 PM. Many cafes in the area offer a fixed-price menu that includes a starter, main course, dessert, and a drink. It is often the best value for a substantial meal.

The neighborhood surrounding Casa Milà offers a sensory feast that extends far beyond the visual splendor of Gaudí’s architecture. By choosing your breakfast spot wisely, you set the tone for a day of exploration that is both satisfying and culturally enriching. Whether you opt for a quick espresso at the bar or a sprawling, multi-course brunch on a sunny terrace, the memories of the food will linger as long as the images of the stone waves.

As you finish your meal and step back out onto the grid-patterned streets of Eixample, you will understand why this district is considered the beating heart of modern Barcelona. The fusion of historic design and contemporary culinary innovation creates an experience that is uniquely Catalan, offering the perfect fuel for your continued journey through the city.
