We were here for the pre-Christmas holidays. Everything was decorated beautifully, just like New Year's. The park itself is quite spacious and has many beautiful locations, one of which is the city's logo. We enjoyed our stay here.

A beautiful green space that locals and visitors alike truly enjoy. The park is well maintained, with wide paths perfect for walking, jogging, or simply relaxing under the shade of its many trees. Families appreciate the playgrounds and open lawns, while others love the peaceful atmosphere for picnics or reading. Seasonal flowers and fountains add charm, making it a pleasant spot in every season. Its central location near the old town makes it easy to visit. Overall, it’s a welcoming and vibrant park that adds to the charm of Colmar.
Annabella Weisl★★★★☆
Park in the middle of Colmar with a couple of well known statues, the big red Colmar lyeers in front of a beautiful fountain and an antiques marry go round. Underneath is the modern parking garage Rapp which is very convenient to start off a walk in the city. The playground is currently built and will feature cute wooden animals.
Ying Zhang★★★★★
My favorite little park so far. It is truly a friendly park for everyone. You can find people dancing, children playing with fountains, small dogs running happily and live blues if you’re lucky! It makes you feel it’s such a peaceful and beautiful world to live in!

Lovely fenced-in park with green trees and a playground. Lots of space for kids to run around and because the access is limited, it's easy to keep an eye on them. There are some benches for the adults. The park could use a leaf blowing but it's Sunday morning and maybe they're not working on the weekend. There was no trash.
Silvija Alksnitis★★★★★
Fantastic little fenced in park with small, colorful playground, green grass and beautiful trees. Plenty of space for kids to run around and/or to have a picnic. There are restrooms but they were locked while we were there.
Patricia Ika Mutiara★★★★★
A nice playground area, for our 4 yo to get herself active .. there are sand area for smaller kids, a console for between 3-5 yo and a climber for 3+ kids. Safe and fun not far from the Colmar old down town.
Cristina Stam★★★★★
Lovely quiet playground. Good shade for a hot day. 4yo and 7yo had loads of fun for an hour or so.

The bathroom is closed 🙁 but the "atom" is something wonderful to try 🙂. A bit complex, but super interesting. 👌 Everything super clean, the garden are very well maintained.

Great Park!
Baptiste DE RENZO★★★★★
A very pretty park, often quiet. The grounds are well-shaded and maintained. There's a playground, plenty of shady areas, but also large open green spaces where children can run and play. It's a shame that it's sometimes closed (the town hall or the municipal police sometimes forget to open it in the morning), although this is fairly rare.
K S★★★★☆
Overall, the park is great. The green space is very well maintained. There's a small children's playground. However, I'm deducting one star. The sign indicates the park opens at 7:30 am (or 8:00 am depending on the time of year). Google shows the park as "open." I arrived with my child at 9:00 am, who was eagerly awaiting the opening. To our surprise, both gates were closed. I called the town hall to ask for an explanation, but unfortunately, they were closed. I hope this is an exceptional situation. In any case, it's a shame not to respect the posted opening hours.

A short, idyllic walk along the water's edge, very close to Colmar city center. You'll encounter swans, ducks, and a coypu. There are benches and trash cans, and parking is available in a small lot. Allow about an hour for the round trip. You'll meet walkers with their dogs, joggers, and a few cyclists.

Le Huy Son★★★★★
Adolphe Hirn Square, located in Colmar near the Bartholdi High School, is a peaceful French-style garden laid out in the 19th century. It pays homage to the physicist Gustave-Adolphe Hirn, whose bronze statue, sculpted by Auguste Bartholdi, stands at its center. With its flowerbeds, symmetrical paths, and fountain, it offers a tranquil setting in the heart of the city.
Murat Selçuk★★★★★
Gustave Adolphe Hirn (1815–1890) was a physicist, astronomer, mathematician, and philosopher born in Colmar. His research on thermodynamics and the oil industry made him a pioneer of modern industry. He is remembered as one of Colmar's greatest scientists. In his memory, a monument was erected in 1894 by the sculptor Auguste Bartholdi. This monument is located in Square Adolphe Hirn, a peaceful and relaxing square near the Saint Pierre Chapel in Colmar. The statue depicts Hirn in a seated position and is made of bronze. The monument, unveiled in 1894, four years after Hirn's death, is an important work reflecting Colmar's rich history. Visitors can get a closer look at the city's scientific heritage by seeing this statue. Square Adolphe Hirn, where the statue is located, resembles a French-style garden and has a relaxing atmosphere. The square is located in the center of Colmar and is near the Saint Pierre Chapel. Visitors can also see the Hyrmite monument while strolling through this square. Those visiting Colmar can explore the city's scientific and artistic heritage by seeing this monument.

This morning I went for a walk through the park. It was breathtaking to see the early light filter through the trees, bringing a warm glow to the earth. The mist rolling across the surface of the water in the east pond had a magical quality. The peaceful stroll was the perfect way to start the day.

The location is beautiful, and the fitness trail is well situated, but it desperately needs a renovation. The equipment is outdated and in poor condition, and updating it with street workout gear would be beneficial. Therefore, I'm giving it one star so my review is seen and helpful.

Jesse Aylward★★★★★
Awesome playground!
Stéphane Maillart★★★★★
A beautiful, peaceful, and shady park, ideal for a breath of fresh air away from the hustle and bustle of the city center. There are benches, a nearby playground, a library, and more... Everything is perfectly maintained and beautifully landscaped!
Eliane Striebel★★★★☆
The playground is very popular with children. However, for some time now, the large grassy area has become a meeting place for dogs, which are off-leash. Led by their owners, the dogs have made it their home and run around, leaving their droppings. This upsets many parents, especially since the children are deprived of the area to play ball. There are also young children who linger dangerously on the bottom of the slide, which is intended for older children. It would be important for a staff member to patrol regularly, especially during peak hours, to remind everyone of the rules.

We had a great time visiting this nature park. The entrance fee for adults is €12.50, which felt like good value for what you get. There are lots of animals to see, including many different birds, otters, muskrats, and raccoons. The circular trail takes about 1 to 1.5 hours at a relaxed pace, making it easy to explore everything. The park is very family-friendly, with well-maintained paths and plenty to keep children entertained. Overall, it's a nice place to spend a few hours if you're in the area.
Chin Siew Ming★★★★★
Great way to spend 1 to 2 hours visiting the animals with your kids and family. The staffs there are very polite and animals looked very happy to be there.
Petros PAPAZOGLOU PAPAZOGLAKIS★★★★☆
This is a small private animal park featuring ducks, swans, hamsters, otters, raccoons, nutrias, donkeys, goats, white storks, and various freshwater fish housed in several aquariums. The park's mission is to protect local wildlife in distress, making admission not just a source of entertainment but also a contribution to a meaningful cause. Although it is not a formal zoological garden and the variety of animals is limited—with some signs of wear and tear—the park offers a child-friendly environment, pleasant presentations, a nice canteen with fair prices and engaging activities. These features can easily keep a family entertained for an entire day, from 11:00 to 16:45. That’s the true charm of this park.
Angela Tacche★★★★☆
I loved this park. It covers the introduction of the storks in Alsace and was also showing an indoor video on the subject. If you are from the UK or from a country that does not have storks you will like this place. Also opportunity to see otters and le castor, as well as the ducks and acquarium. Is not very big but every corner has something interesting.
Anca Elena Temea★★★☆☆
It is a nice park in a beautiful secluded area. However, definitely needs a lot of improvement. Starting with the general cleaning of the area Small ponds are so smelly, you can see there is no regular cleaning whatsoever, poor creatures 🙁 We couldn't see most of the animals due to poor setting arrangements. The snack area is very limited in options and the waiting time is huge on a busy day.Very slow service. As a pro we loved the storks and their matting dancings. The small aquarium with so many friendly fish kois that actually let you pet them. Lovely donkey which came to the fence to say hi. Small ducklings were very cute. Big parking lot.

Practical Tips for Visiting Colmar’s Green Spaces

To make the most of your time outdoors in Colmar, a little local knowledge goes a long way. The city’s parks are generally accessible year-round, but the experience changes dramatically with the seasons, from the blossoms of spring to the golden hues of autumn. Understanding the local etiquette and logistics will ensure you have a seamless and respectful visit.

1. Time Your Visit with the Seasons
While summer offers lush greenery, spring and autumn provide the most comfortable temperatures for walking. If you are a photography enthusiast, visit in late April or May to see the flower beds in full bloom, or come in October to capture the stunning fall foliage that frames the historic monuments.

2. Embrace the Picnic Culture
Colmar locals love to picnic, and you should too. Rather than paying premium prices at a canal-side restaurant, visit a local market like the Marché Couvert to pick up fresh bread, cheese, and charcuterie. Spread out a blanket in a park for a truly authentic and budget-friendly Alsatian lunch.

3. Check Local Event Schedules
Many of Colmar’s parks double as event venues, particularly during the summer months and the famous Christmas market season. Before you go, check the local tourism office website to see if a music festival, fair, or holiday market is taking place. While this can add to the fun, it may also mean larger crowds or restricted access.

4. Use Public Transport or Walk
Parking in the historic center of Colmar can be notoriously difficult and expensive. The city is incredibly walkable, and most of the major parks are within a comfortable walking distance from the Old Town. If you are staying further out, consider using the local bus network or renting a bicycle to navigate the greenways.

5. Respect the Environment
Colmar takes immense pride in its clean streets and pristine gardens. Always dispose of your trash in the designated bins, keep dogs on leads where required, and stay on the marked paths to protect the delicate flower beds. This ensures these beautiful spaces remain pristine for both locals and future travelers.

The green spaces of Colmar offer a necessary balance to the town’s architectural density. They are places where history, horticulture, and daily life intersect, providing a deeper understanding of the Alsatian way of life. Whether you have spent your morning in the Unterlinden Museum or cycling through the vineyards, ending your day with a quiet walk through a garden is the perfect way to unwind.

Ultimately, exploring these parks allows you to see a different side of Colmar—one that is calm, natural, and effortlessly beautiful. As you wander beneath the ancient trees, you will discover that the town’s charm is not confined to its buildings, but is deeply rooted in the soil that surrounds them.
