Cannes is a city of cinematic glamour, luxury yachts, and sun-drenched promenades, but its nightlife often remains a hidden gem behind the curtain of the Film Festival. Once the red carpets are rolled up and the sun dips below the Esterel mountains, the city transforms into a vibrant playground for oenophiles, cocktail enthusiasts, and party-goers.
Whether you are looking for a quiet glass of Provençal rosé after a day of shopping on La Croisette or a high-energy dance floor to rub shoulders with the international jet set, Cannes delivers. The bar scene here is diverse, ranging from historic hotel lounges that have served literary icons to modern rooftop terraces offering panoramic views of the Bay.
Navigating the drinking scene in a city known for its exclusivity can be daunting, especially if you want to avoid tourist traps. That is why we have curated a list of the most atmospheric, innovative, and welcoming establishments the city has to offer.
From secretive speakeasies tucked away in the old town of Le Suquet to breezy beach clubs where you can sink your toes into the sand, there is a venue for every mood and budget. You do not need a VIP badge to enjoy a world-class cocktail here; you just need to know where to look.
This guide focuses on venues that offer exceptional drinks, distinct atmospheres, and authentic local character. We have prioritized places that deliver consistency, whether you are visiting during the chaotic buzz of a festival or the quiet charm of the off-season.
Prepare to discover the finest addresses for mixology, wine, and craft beer in the French Riviera’s most glamorous city.

I just wanted to leave a heartfelt review for the two bartenders who were working on March 6th. My experience at the bar was absolutely fantastic, and a huge part of that was thanks to them.
First, the sweet lady bartender was truly wonderful. From the moment we sat down, she greeted us with a warm smile and such a welcoming attitude. She had this natural kindness that instantly made us feel comfortable and taken care of. Even though the bar seemed pretty busy, she stayed attentive, patient, and upbeat the entire time. She checked in on us regularly without ever making us feel rushed, and she made sure our drinks were perfect every time. It’s rare to see someone balance professionalism and genuine friendliness so effortlessly, and she absolutely did.
The male bartender working with her was just as impressive. He was quick, organized, and clearly knew what he was doing behind the bar. You could tell he had great experience because he handled multiple orders smoothly while still taking the time to chat and make sure everyone was enjoying themselves. He had a great sense of humor and brought a fun energy to the whole place, which made the atmosphere even better.
What really stood out was how well the two of them worked together

We were excited to try this pub, as it is advertised as an “American Pub” and looks like a fun place with dart board and pool! It is not an American pub. Upon entering the door, we were called back out by security who tried to turn us away because we didn’t reserve a table and weren’t eating food. We almost left at his request until I asked if we are able to get ONLY drinks at the bar, and he said yes and that was fine. Miscommunication, I get it. We did not feel very welcome at all at the bar either, the bartenders were not very polite or approachable. The service was very fast, and bathrooms were fairly clean. The only thing American about this bar were the playboy posters lol. And the beers were not very good, but maybe that’s just us. We felt as though this “American” pub was meant for anyone other than Americans and did not feel welcome. Cheers, but we will not be back.

I stumbled into this place by pure chance tonight and it ended up being one of the best bar experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was unreal — effortlessly stylish, energetic, and somehow still relaxed. The leopard pool table alone sets the tone… it’s one of those places where every detail feels intentional and cool without trying too hard.
The staff were incredible. Service was fast, friendly, and genuinely welcoming the entire night. Even though the bar was lively, they stayed completely on top of everything and made the whole experience feel easy and fun.
The vibe here is honestly immaculate. Great music, great crowd, beautiful space, and the kind of energy that makes you want to stay way longer than you planned.
I feel ridiculously lucky that I randomly came across this place while out tonight. If you’re anywhere nearby, do yourself a favor and stop in. Absolute gem.

Skyfall Cannes is easily one of the best nightlife destinations in heart of Cannes!
The location is ideal, and the overall experience feels both upscale and exciting!
The venue consistently features great DJs and regularly hosts live artist performances, which adds an impressive touch to the night!
The music is upbeat, the atmosphere is vibrant, and the interior is stylish, classy, and beautifully designed.
The crowd was great, the ambiance was elevated, and the staff were friendly and attentive throughout the evening.
If you’re looking for a high quality, energetic night out in Cannes, I highly recommend Skyfall Cannes!

Amazing vibe and atmosphere! Skyfall Cannes is such a fun spot with great music, great service, and an overall upscale experience!
Perfect place for a night out in Cannes! Highly recommend!
Giulio Bontà★☆☆☆☆
Me and my wife went there for NYE, definitely not that ‘classy’ and ‘chic’ cause of some clientele people.
Staff at Skyfall is nice and kind but I can’t say the same bout the other ones drinking inside.
Music way too loud and 30€ with a drink included are too much for this place. It’s more like a disco, definitely not a lounge bar. I personally wouldn’t recommend if you’re searching for a classy bar.
Giovanni Toumi★★★★★
On Sundays there was the DJ LENA K, amazing set in an very classy location! Prices are very correct even for a table. Music and location are amazing, just need to repeat this over and over. That was missing in Cannes. Very nice crew for the service, allways an eye open and no waiting time. Must go place!

An exceptional address in the heart of Cannes. Glass is far more than just a venue it's a place that blends elegance, professionalism, and a jaw-dropping atmosphere from the moment you walk in. The service is flawless — attentive, responsive, and perfectly discreet. The team adapts effortlessly to every need, whether for a private event, a corporate cocktail reception, or an exclusive evening. The space itself is a stage: bright, beautifully designed, with architecture that makes Glass an ideal filming location for film and audiovisual productions. Private hire is handled with exceptional care and top-level organisation. And to top it all off, the value for money truly lives up to every aspect of the experience. A rare gem in Cannes not to be missed.

Yeah, I mean you’d think it’s a whole club but it’s a room with a bar. Vibe was bigger than the place. Also made us wait outside just to make a line.

Just came here recently on a trip, really, really loved it. The DJs playing were great and so was the overall atmosphere. It's the only place I found in Cannes with some proper house music. If you're in the area I highly recommend checking it out.

The food, the atmosphere and the live entertainment were excellent. The staff was friendly, attentive and we had a really enjoyable evening. We also knew in advance that this is a high-end restaurant, so we expected the prices to be on the higher side.
Unfortunately, our experience at the end of the evening was very disappointing.
When we received the bill, we noticed that six shots (€15 each) had been added, even though we had never ordered them. There were only two of us, and we were certain of everything we had ordered. The original bill was over €400, while we knew it should have been around €312. After pointing this out, the waitress corrected the bill and returned with a receipt for around €320.
However, when she handed us the card terminal, the amount displayed was €372. When I asked about the difference, she simply said it was for the service. At that moment, in the middle of the party atmosphere and after we had already had several drinks, I paid because I assumed it was something mandatory.
Looking back, I realised that this amount had been added as a tip without asking for our consent.
We had every intention of leaving a tip because we were happy with the service. However, I find it completely unacceptable for a tip to be added or selected without clearly asking the customer first. This left a very negative impression and unfortunately overshadowed what had otherwise been a lovely evening.

This restaurant was a complete surprise as I was sure that the music was going to be too load.. but this was not the case at all.. the food was DELICIOUS TOO! ..The servers were all welcomming... the atmosphere festive and not over-whelming!! So enjoyable!

Service was slow with two power cuts during the night and we were given a table for 6 with 8 people. Otherwise great food and great atmosphere. We recommend that you have a breakdown of your bill as they did not take off our prepaid deposit from the bill. In the end we had to pay and they told us they would refund us the next day, thankfully it’s now been refunded but we anyways recommend you check this and sorting this all definitely put a dampener on our night.

Went there with some friends,
Great night! The food and the show were really amazing. The atmosphere is very special and unique, loved it. Highly recommend if you’re in Cannes!
CLÉMENT HAUTEFORT★★★★☆
The SpeakEasy is well located, just parallel to the Martinez in Cannes, which makes it easy to find. The staff is truly exceptional—warm, kind, welcoming, and genuinely attentive. I really appreciated their energy and hospitality.
The atmosphere is definitely the highlight of the place. There are live musicians with beautiful voices, creating a vibrant and joyful ambience. It was a real pleasure to be there, especially with a lively group from the UK that added to the fun. A great place to enjoy a memorable evening.
The food is good, but honestly overpriced for the portions and overall quality. Not bad, but not worth the premium they're asking. What really felt excessive were the drink prices—for example, a simple glass of Chablis at €17 is, in my opinion, pushing the limits.
In short: go for the ambience, music, and amazing staff—they make the night special. But be aware that you'll be paying premium prices, especially for drinks and food that don't justify the cost.

As always , everything related to Five Seas hotel is amazing and Le Roof is no exception. Nice drinks, amazing view, cozy atmosphere and excellent finger food. Top that with the fact that people working there have 20+ charisma score.

I always seek out nice rooftop bars when I travel, and I stumbled upon this cozy spot without an RSVP. It was definitely worth the 10-15 minute wait (which I totally understood since I hadn't made a reservation). The atmosphere was super relaxed, and the cocktails were delicious. I didn’t get photos of the cocktails on my first night, but here's a cute bird photo I took during the day while having coffee—it offers a lovely view of Cannes! The service was so great that I found myself returning almost every day during my 10 days in Cannes! 😂
Mikael Olsson★★★★★
Perfect place for a crafted cocktail. Service impeccable! Nice ambience with the pool and surrounding roof tops.
Mandy Arnold★★★☆☆
Just know the pool seating area is limited to guests. We went up to enjoy the sun and nice weather but were sat in an “outdoor area” that was an inside tented area on the roof next to the outdoor area. Service was good, but be aware if you want to sit outside.

The Perfect Spot to Unwind After a Business Fair
After a long day at a business fair, this is the perfect place to kick back and relax. No matter your mood, there’s a space that fits—whether you want to people-watch, find a quiet corner to unwind, enjoy a smoke on the terrace, or even lounge by the swimming pool.
The drinks are well-made, and while I didn’t try the food, everything looked tempting. The prices were a bit above my usual budget, but the experience made it worth it. If you’re looking for a stylish and versatile spot to end the evening, I definitely recommend checking it out!

My friends and I went there for a karaoke session but apparently, this establishment is already closed and we were advised to go to Dali, just across the street but unfortunately, that night is not their karaoke night so we've just walked back to Charlie's Hotel (formerly Hotel Atlantis).

Was excited to visit this place with my partner as google maps said this was one of only a couple gay bars in Cannes (though I’m not sure it is!). We were refused entry due to me wearing “beach wear” - I was in a button down shirt, Ralph Lauren shorts and sandals. Nowhere on their Facebook etc does it specify there is a dress code - others in the bar had shorts etc so I was very confused !

One of the most beautiful bars I’ve ever visited. The atmosphere was truly exceptional, with an elegant yet vibrant energy that made the entire experience memorable. The drinks menu offered an impressive and thoughtfully curated variety, and we especially enjoyed exploring several of the spritz options. What made the evening even more special was the owner’s genuine warmth and remarkable international outlook, which made us feel completely at home despite being so far away.

Excellent food and even better drinks. The atmosphere is relaxed and refreshing. Adonis, the barkeep, is a gentleman and can point you to anything locally that may be of interest. We were in town for three nights, discovered this on the second, and had to come back on the third. Won’t miss it a single day on our next visit.

Absolutely loved this tapas bar. The food was incredible — every dish was fresh, full of flavour, and beautifully presented. You can tell a lot of care goes into both the menu and the overall experience. The service was honestly one of the highlights of the night; the staff were so welcoming, attentive, and genuinely friendly without being over the top. They gave great recommendations and made us feel looked after from start to finish. The atmosphere was warm and lively, perfect for sharing plates and drinks with friends. Easily one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time — will definitely be coming back!

If I could give more stars, then I would do so in a heartbeat. La Fée Verte has the biggest selection of cocktails I’ve seen and they’re all amazing. Adonis, the owner, is a sincere & sociable guy with great humor and the most interesting stories. Above all, the atmosphere, music, and location of the cocktail bar is perfect. What makes this place even better, is that he does everything (cocktails, tapas, table service, cleaning, etc.) all on his own. If I ever return to Cannes, then I will definitely be back here. If you’re in Cannes for a trip, then La Fée Verte is definitely at the top of the list of must-go places. Merci pour tout, Adonis, et à la prochaine !

I've only been here once, and during the day, but I really liked the vibe. The bar is in a great location looking across at the marina (hence the name) and it has ample outside space. Inside it's friendly and nicely decorated, with most punters preferring to sit at the bar - a very healthy sign of proper pub atmosphere. Service was good and the bartender had clearly gotten to know some of the repeat customers who were in town for the festival. Will definitely make a point of going back for a night time session or to watch some rugby.

A nice enough "Irish bar" in Cannes directly on the quays overlooking the port. The reason for the quotes is that none of these are really Irish bars. A pint of Guinness doesn't make it so. Try and get a cider that isn't Magners and say it's Irish.
That said, friendly staff and a nice place for a sit down and relax.
No table service.

A lively spot in Cannes with a friendly atmosphere, classic pub fare, and a wide selection of drinks. Great for watching sports, enjoying live music, or a casual night out.

This pub has been disappointing recently. It badly needs to be “spruced up” and the toilets need an urgent upgrade.

I’m so surprised of the reviews here! We went to check out this place because it had extremely good reviews. But the reality was VERY DIFFERENT. We ordered a Passion fruit martini and a mojito, the drinks that arrived were VERY far from the real cocktails. Full of sugar, diluted and didn’t even have the right colour. The waiter quickly changed those cocktails when we complained for a beer and a white wine but never refunded us the price we paid for those disgusting cocktails. This place is only for those who don’t know the real taste/look of a good cocktail. Also be aware you will be covered in cigarette smoke everywhere there.

Nice, classic place. The clientele is very let’s say cosmopolitan, to be polite. One negative comment from my side is as follows : I have ordered a whiskey sour as a classic. The drink came with no ice, no egg foam, not a classic. Although the taste was good, I should have been informed that the classic is NOT served as classic. Anyways be there before 22:00 unless you know the staff. Overall nice place, definitely worth visiting.

This bar is a must if you are visiting Cannes. Opened in 1929 this bar has a beautiful retro atmosphere inside. Sleek wood details, just the right lighting and of course magnificent drinks. I usually enjoy an Old Fashioned, but the group i was with recommended a house special jumanji. Rum and Amaretto for sure with a few secret ingredients to make it extra special. Very refreshing cocktail on a warm day. The presentation of the drink includes a bit of a performance! Regardless if you staying at St. Martinez Hotel or somewhere else be sure to enjoy a cocktail at this historic bar!

Best bar in town! For drinks, foods or watching football. The guys are portuguese so the “art of hospitality” is present since the first minute. All together we helped Portugal won the UEFA nations league 2025. Go there and check by yourself.

I have spent 6 weeks in Cannes and this soon became my favourite spot. A very pleasant bar, good prices, great location combined with excellent, friendly service. Football on the TV if you want or sit outside and watch Cannes go by. 🙏🍻👍

Harry’s Bar in Cannes was a great cocktail stop during our trip.
The atmosphere felt elegant while still remaining welcoming and comfortable, which made it easy to settle in after a long day.
The cocktails were all very well balanced and well crafted, and the service throughout the visit was excellent.
Overall, a really enjoyable bar experience and somewhere I’d definitely recommend if you’re in Cannes.

There is more to Cannes than just rosé thanks to this Harry’s Bar. In a city that is more wine than cocktails, the perfection of the French 75, the Scofflaw, and White Lady — all Harry’s originals — is as inspiring as the views of the bay outside. The staff are also so amazing. Thank you for the exceptional time!

A great gem to relax and enjoy an exceptional range of cocktails and superb service. David was great and his recommendation of the Sesame cocktail to complement my cigar was greatly appreciated. Good whisky selection as well. Definitely worth a stop.

Tips for Enjoying Cannes Nightlife
While Cannes is famous for its glitz, a little local knowledge goes a long way in ensuring you have a smooth and enjoyable evening without unnecessary expense or hassle. The city operates on a Mediterranean rhythm, which means timings and dress codes differ significantly from other major European capitals. Understanding these nuances will help you blend in seamlessly with the sophisticated local crowd and make the most of your night out on the Riviera.
1. Master the Art of Timing
The French Riviera runs on a late schedule. Most bars do not get busy until after 10:00 PM, and if you arrive for a pre-dinner drink at 6:00 PM, you may find yourself alone. Plan to have a leisurely dinner starting around 8:30 PM or 9:00 PM, and then move to a bar for drinks around 10:30 PM or 11:00 PM. If you are heading to a club, do not even think about arriving before midnight.
2. Dress to Impress
Cannes is not a city for flip-flops and sportswear once the sun goes down, particularly in the upscale establishments near La Croisette. While you do not need a tuxedo, smart casual is the minimum standard. Men should opt for closed-toe shoes, collared shirts, and tailored trousers. Women typically wear elegant dresses or chic separates. If you look polished, doormen and bartenders are significantly more welcoming.
3. Look Beyond La Croisette
While the Boulevard de la Croisette is stunning, the bars directly facing the Palais des Festivals often charge a premium for the view rather than the quality of the drink. Venture into the narrow, winding streets of Le Suquet (the old town) or the Carré d’Or for more authentic atmospheres, better value, and a higher concentration of locals.
4. Reserve Ahead During Festivals
If you are visiting during the Cannes Film Festival, MIPIM, or Lions, you cannot rely on spontaneity. Private events buy out entire venues for weeks at a time. Always check social media or call ahead to see if the bar is open to the public. For rooftop bars and high-end hotel lounges, booking a table in advance is essential to avoid being turned away at the door.
5. Understand the Tipping Culture
Service is generally included in the price of your drink in France (the price you see is the final price). However, it is customary to leave small change or round up to the nearest euro for good service. If you are sitting at a table and a server brings your drinks, leaving an extra €1 to €2 per round is a sign of appreciation that will ensure attentive service for the rest of your evening.
6. Explore Provençal Wines and Local Spirits
While it is tempting to order a generic international beer or a standard vodka soda, Cannes is the gateway to Provence. Ask the sommelier or bartender for a local rosé from nearby vineyards or a cocktail featuring regional ingredients like lavender, citrus from Menton, or Pastis. Many bars now feature "Riviera-inspired" cocktail menus that showcase the unique terroir of the South of France.
The beauty of Cannes lies in its duality; it can be a serene coastal retreat one moment and a thumping party capital the next. By choosing the right venue from this list, you can curate an evening that matches your exact energy level, whether that is a whispered conversation over vintage champagne or dancing until dawn under the Mediterranean stars.
Remember that the best nights out in Cannes are often unplanned. Wander through the cobblestone alleys, follow the sound of laughter and clinking glasses, and allow the unique magic of the Côte d’Azur to guide you to your new favorite watering hole.
