10 Best Shopping Areas Near Plaza de Toros de la Real Maestranza

Located in the heart of Seville’s historic El Arenal district, the Plaza de Toros de la Real Maestranza is much more than a bullring. It is a cultural landmark, an architectural masterpiece, and a gateway to some of the most atmospheric streets in Andalusia. Visitors who come to admire its Baroque façade or tour its fascinating museum often find themselves perfectly positioned to explore the city on foot. Because of its central location, the area surrounding the bullring is a shopper’s paradise, blending centuries-old artisan traditions with modern retail trends.

The streets radiating outward from the Maestranza offer a distinctive mix of experiences. From the elegant, pedestrianized avenues lined with international brands to the narrow, winding alleys filled with family-run boutiques, there is something for every taste and budget. Shopping here is not just about buying souvenirs; it is about soaking in the atmosphere of a city where commerce, history, and daily life have been intertwined for hundreds of years.

One of the greatest advantages of shopping near the bullring is the proximity to the Guadalquivir River. The riverside location provides a pleasant breeze during the warmer months, making a retail stroll far more comfortable than in the city’s interior. Additionally, the flat terrain and compact nature of the surrounding streets mean you can easily hop between high-end fashion stores, traditional ceramic workshops, and gourmet food markets without needing public transport.

For those interested in authentic Spanish craftsmanship, this district is unmatched. Seville is renowned for its flamenco dresses, hand-painted ceramics, intricate fans, and fine leather goods. Many of the best artisans have kept their workshops in the same family for generations, and their stores are often tucked just a few steps away from the main tourist thoroughfares. Finding these hidden gems requires a little curiosity, but the reward is a truly unique purchase that carries the soul of the city.

At the same time, the area does not ignore contemporary tastes. Recent urban renewal projects have introduced sleek concept stores, designer boutiques, and trendy lifestyle shops to the neighborhood. This fusion of the old and the new is precisely what makes shopping near Plaza de Toros so compelling. You can spend the morning admiring antique silverwork and the afternoon trying on cutting-edge Spanish fashion, all within a short walk.

Whether you are searching for a special gift, upgrading your wardrobe, or simply enjoying the art of window shopping, this part of Seville delivers. The shopkeepers are generally welcoming and knowledgeable, often happy to share the story behind their products. Moreover, the area is extremely safe and well-maintained, allowing visitors to browse at a relaxed pace without the stress found in some larger commercial hubs.

To help you make the most of your visit, we have curated a list of the most rewarding shopping zones within walking distance of the bullring. These areas have been selected for their variety, authenticity, and overall shopping experience rather than simply their proximity to the landmark.

Not many shops, but a worthy visit to stroll around.

The building used to be train station and caught our eye as we were passing. Always delighted that old iconic buildings are not destroyed but repurposed. The developer did a great job as the main features remain ie it feels like a railway station still but shops and cinema inside. Lovely to stroll through.
Santa★★★★☆
Beautiful building that was once a train station. I went to the Bodies Exhibition held in the mall and it was fairly interesting. Inside the shopping centre there's also a multi cinema, a McDonald's and a a few ceramic and craft shops.

Once a train station and now a small shopping mall, with a small tourist office, coffee shop l, Mcdonald and few other shops. It was nice to discover it while we were walking by.

Visited Nervión Plaza in Seville mainly for a walk around and had a pleasant experience. The shopping centre is modern, clean and well maintained, making it a comfortable place to spend some time. The selection of shops and restaurants is decent, and overall the atmosphere feels organised and enjoyable. I would recommend visiting, especially as Seville is a very flat city and nearby Metropol Parasol (Las Setas) is one of the few great ways to enjoy panoramic views of the city.

It's a shopping centre with not cheap paid parking, but it is very much in the heart of Seville, slap bang next to the Seville FC stadium.

The cinema is one of the best quality/price since they closed the Sevilla Este's one. The shopping center has lot of options if you want to have a nice time shopping and getting some food.

A fair few decent shops at this Plaza and close to Sevilla's home football stadium, the Estadio Ramon Sanchez, which was impressive to see, as you can even see through to the pitch when it's closed. It is also close to other gardens too and therefore makes a nice walk / 1-2 hours out in Seville.

Centro Comercial Los Arcos is a practical and well-located shopping center in Seville, offering a more relaxed and everyday retail experience compared to the city’s larger flagship department stores. The mall has a straightforward, functional layout that makes it easy to navigate, with a solid mix of fashion stores, electronics, supermarkets, and casual dining options. It’s not about luxury or spectacle, but about convenience—everything is designed for quick access and efficient shopping. One of its strengths is its accessibility. Located along one of Seville’s main avenues, it’s easy to reach by public transport or car, and it serves both locals and visitors staying in the eastern part of the city. Parking is generally convenient, which adds to its appeal for practical errands or short visits. Inside, the atmosphere is relaxed and unpretentious. You’ll find popular Spanish and international retail chains, a food court with simple but reliable options, and enough variety to cover most daily needs without needing to head into the historic center. While it may not be a destination for a full-day outing, Los Arcos plays an important role as a neighborhood shopping hub. It’s the kind of place you appreciate for its efficiency, ease, and practicality—especially when you want to combine shopping with a low-stress stop during your time in Seville.
Kostas Peletidis★★★★☆
Nice shopping centre with all sorts of stores: clothes, shoes, house items, sports, gaming, and more. There is an Amazon Locker on the first basement that can be very useful. There are also places to have a coffee and a snack. On top of that, the best is yet to come because part of the building is closed to the public due to rennovation work. Crowd management could be better though, the place can be too crowded at times and some of the locals need adult guidance when walking in public spaces, creating health and safety hazards.

I was there a few weeks ago, there are plenty of shops and restaurants. Restrooms were pretty clean and they have some couches so that people can sit down

A beautiful building and excellent businesses of various kinds. A haven to relax while listening to its fountain. Armando Escobar★☆☆☆☆
After spending several hours shopping, my wife and I decided to take a break and have a coffee at the restaurant inside El Corte Inglés Duque. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from the moment we arrived. We stood at the entrance for a while waiting to be acknowledged. There were several staff members present, with some taking orders and others chatting nearby, yet no one seemed interested in greeting or seating customers. Eventually, I made my way to the bar area and took a seat. One of the staff members told me he would be with me shortly, and he eventually took our order. My wife ordered a café con leche, and I ordered an affogato. When the drinks arrived, my wife’s coffee was fine. However, my affogato was served in a glass that had visible smudges, fingerprints, and marks on the outside. I immediately pointed this out because I did not feel comfortable drinking from a glass that appeared dirty. Rather than apologizing and replacing it without issue, the employee argued that the glass was not dirty. He then showed me another glass as an example, but when I held it up to the light, it appeared to have similar marks. I explained that the glasses needed to be cleaned more thoroughly. What disappointed me most was not the dirty glass itself, but the attitude that followed. Instead of addressing the concern professionally, the employee became defensive and argued with me. At one point, he stated that I would still be charged for the drink. I made it clear that I was not going to drink from a glass that I believed was not properly clean. The employee then spoke with his manager, who ultimately decided not to charge me for the affogato and only charged us for the café con leche. I paid the bill immediately and left. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience deserved one. Mistakes happen in every restaurant. A dirty glass can be replaced in seconds. What should never happen is arguing with a customer who raises a legitimate cleanliness concern. Considering El Corte Inglés positions itself as a premium shopping destination, I expected a much higher level of professionalism and customer service. Unfortunately, this visit fell well below those expectations.

We happened to be staying in a hotel very close by and after several shopping trips we needed to buy a carry on suitcase (!) so we went into El Corte Inglés. It’s a beautiful store - spacious and spotless - reminded me of Niemans or Saks. Got the case and some shirts from Ralph Lauren - everyone was very helpful!

Sevilla Fashion Outlet is located approximately seven kilometers from the city center. The outlet is a single-story shopping center and is relatively small compared to other outlet malls. You can comfortably explore all the stores in about an hour. Despite its size, the outlet features a variety of shops, including well-known international and local brands. The prices are reasonable, making it a good option for those looking for discounts on quality products. Whether you're searching for fashion, accessories, or footwear, you’ll find a decent selection, though the variety may not be as extensive as in larger outlets.

It's a good mall to shop famous brands like Nike, Puma, Columbia, Tommy Hilfiger, Lacoste, etc. Though it's quite far from the center of Seville there's a bus (pink) that goes to this place. The schedule is only limited as there are only 4 trips to go and return. Pay attention to this tp as not miss the bus on the way back to Seville. At the bus stop in the center of Seville just right beside the Plaza De España you can find the schedule. When you arrive at the outlet you can ask for the return times at the information desk. The restaurants are quite scarce here taking in consideration that this is a huge mall. There are bars like 100 Montaditos, Casa Miro, House of Juice for you to have some quick bites though.

Tips for Shopping Near Plaza de Toros

To ensure your shopping excursion is as enjoyable and efficient as possible, it helps to understand a few local customs and practical details. Seville operates on a different rhythm than many northern European cities, and knowing when to go and how to pay can significantly enhance your experience. The following advice is based on local shopping culture and the layout of the streets surrounding the Maestranza.

Plan around the siesta. Many smaller, family-owned shops close between approximately 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM. Larger department stores and international chains usually remain open all day, but if you want to visit artisan boutiques, plan your visit for the late morning or early evening.

Carry a mix of payment methods. While credit and debit cards are widely accepted, some smaller artisan workshops or market stalls may have a minimum spend for card transactions or prefer cash. Having a small amount of euros on hand is practical for buying small souvenirs or snacks.

Wear comfortable walking shoes. The best shopping streets in this district are paved with traditional cobblestones or polished stone slabs, which can become slippery when wet or uncomfortable after hours of walking. Supportive footwear is essential for navigating the uneven surfaces.

Ask about tax-free shopping. If you are a non-EU resident, many larger retailers offer Tax-Free shopping schemes. You will need your passport with you to complete the necessary paperwork at the point of sale, so it is worth carrying identification if you plan to make significant purchases.

Look beyond the main street. Calle Asunción and Calle Tetuán are excellent starting points, but do not be afraid to turn down the smaller side streets. Some of the most memorable shops, including antique dealers and bespoke leather workers, are hidden away in quiet plazas just off the main pedestrian routes.

Time your visit with local events. During the Feria de Abril or Semana Santa, many shops adjust their hours and stock seasonal items. If you are visiting during these festivals, expect a more festive but busier atmosphere, and be aware that some independent stores may close entirely on public holidays.

Shopping near the Plaza de Toros de la Real Maestranza offers a rare opportunity to combine sightseeing with genuine retail discovery. Every purchase becomes a story, whether it is a hand-painted tile from a family workshop or a contemporary piece from a Sevillian designer.

As the sun sets over the Guadalquivir and the lanterns begin to glow along the pedestrian streets, the area takes on an almost magical quality. Taking one last stroll with your shopping bags in hand, you will understand why this historic quarter remains one of the most beloved destinations for visitors to Seville.
