Seville’s old town hums with a particular kind of energy, a blend of clattering orange carts, distant flamenco rhythms, and the soft echo of footsteps on cobblestones. At its heart stands the Setas de Sevilla, the massive wooden mushroom-like structure officially known as the Metropol Parasol. While the soaring walkways and panoramic views draw visitors from across the globe, the surrounding streets hold a quieter, more aromatic kind of magic.
The neighborhoods flanking the Setas—particularly Alfalfa, Encarnación, and San Lorenzo—are home to some of the city’s most beloved independent coffee spots. These are not faceless chains but intimate spaces where baristas know their regulars by name and roasters experiment with beans from nearby Huelva or distant Ethiopia. For anyone exploring the area, finding the right cafe is less about a caffeine fix and more about pausing to absorb the local rhythm.
The cafe culture here follows a distinct Sevillano pattern. Mornings begin with a strong café con leche and a tostada, often taken standing at the bar. Afternoons invite slower, air-conditioned respites from the Andalusian sun, while early evenings might call for a cold brew or a refreshing tónica espresso before dinner.
Because the Setas sits at a crossroads of tourist flow and residential life, the cafe scene around it is wonderfully diverse. You will find minimalist third-wave coffee bars with pour-over menus, traditional pastelerías serving house-made pastries, and hidden patios where the clink of ceramic cups mingles with birdsong. The common thread is a deep respect for quality and hospitality.
Choosing where to sit down can feel overwhelming with so many inviting doorways and the scent of freshly ground coffee spilling onto the pavement. Some travelers want a quiet corner to work, others seek the most photogenic interior, and many simply crave the best possible flat white or espresso tonic in the district.
This guide focuses on spots that offer more than just a drink. Each recommendation below was selected for its consistency, atmosphere, and connection to the local community. Whether you are staying for a week or just passing through on a day trip, these cafes provide a genuine taste of Seville’s contemporary coffee movement without straying far from the iconic wooden structure.
Below, you will find a curated selection of the best cafes within easy walking distance of the Setas de Sevilla, each with its own distinct personality and strengths.

Highly recommended! The staff were welcoming and friendly. It was truly a pleasure meeting them, especially the ones from Morocco. The pastries and the coffee were delicious and fresh, and the overall atmosphere was very enjoyable. I’ll definitely be coming back again.

Great spot to stop for a rest and something a bit different to eat if you fancy a tiny break from tapas!
Very friendly service and lovely, freshly made food and great coffee! Close to the 'mushrooms' and easy to find, but it still manages to be a little oasis of calm.

I've had coffee from Syra in Girona and Barcelona and this one in Sevilla did not disappoint. It was the same great service and great tasting coffee. My go to place while here.
Ashley Cutshall★★★★★
We had the best experience here. The coffee was super quality and the conversation with the barista even better! Gracias!!
Damian Guevara★★★★★
We were lucky to found by coincidence Syra coffee in our stay in Sevilla.
My girlfriend and I are very passionate about speciality coffee and to find Luis, behind the counter, was a nice surprise. We had a profound conversation where we could feel how passionate he is about speciality coffee.
Originally we were there looking for a coffee, we tried the batch and a triple chocolate cookie - it was so tasty! After the nice chat with him we also took home one of the nice coffees from Ethiopia which Luis recommended.
Atmosphere, even if limited seating, breathes of peace & tranquility!
PS: If you prefer more type of pumpkin spice latte style… this place also has it, and the description & image looks so inviting!
Truly recommended!!
Ghassan Shamseddine★★★★★
Cool place with a cool barista. The coffee is nice and the quality of the food/dessert is very good as well. We had a cookie, carrot cake and a croissant. All good. The place has barely a space for 4 people to stand/sit and finish their coffee.
Umut TÜREMEN★☆☆☆☆
I am not sure who gave those five stars. I drank one of the worst coffees in my life and paid 4 Euros. The store has only two chairs that doesn’t allow you to lean your back and when there are more than five people inside, it feels like a crowded bus.

A friendly café in a nice locality a little away from the centre. You are greeted warmly by the friendly and welcoming staff. We had a baby with us and the staff made sure we had the most comfortable table close to the loo so we could also have a bit of privacy when needed. The chef also came by to discuss our dietary preferences. This was much appreciated. The vibe is quite relaxing. Although it's a busy café you can still enjoy within your own circle. The food here is all so fresh and delicious. I've had the best pasta and the traditional Sevillan breakfast here. We had to return on another 2 days of our visit. My favourite dishes are the gnocchi carbonara, the traditional Tostada as well as the focaccia. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for a very modern vibe and hearty meals at reasonable prices.
Adam Boyes★★★★★
If you're in the area I recommend having a bite here. Our apartment is just around the corner. We had a bite to eat around 3pm. It was fairly quiet. The front of house was friendly and polite. The food was really well done. Even though it was a light bite it was beautifully cooked, even asked how I would like my burger cooked. We thought it was reasonably priced. It was clean. Thanks again for enjoyable experience. Definitely would be back.
Ailsa Dempsey★★★★★
Had breakfast here after passing by, and it was absolutely worth the stop. The place was packed with both locals and tourists, which is always a good sign. The food was excellent, especially since they make their own bread. The prices are very reasonable. The staff were also fantastic and added to the overall great experience.
The only small downside for me was the croissant, it’s the curved, sugar-glazed style rather than the classic straight one. If you know your croissant, you know that’s not a proper croissant.
Having said that I’m still giving it a five stars.
Simon G★★★★★
Amazing! Glad I discovered this place on day 1 of my visit to Seville and will definitely return! My wife and I shared a salad, sandwich and ordered a smoothie each! I would recommend this 100%!
Mara Stefania★★☆☆☆
Considering the hype, we were so excited to have breakfast here. Unfortunately we left disappointed, annoyed and €100 poorer. Avoid the waffles, sandwiches, gourmet toasts, all of it. One egg on two huge slabs of toast was so odd. As a party of 6, we tried a large variety, and nothing was good. To top it off, the coffee was awful- bitter but watery. The waiter was rude, when I asked for eggs on toast, he said it’s not possible to do after 12 despite there being so many dishes including egg and toast still available at 1pm. I then asked for the hollandaise to be with toast instead of waffle, a quick and easy swap, and was met with a rude blunt ‘no’ yet again. It was new years though so maybe they were just being non accommodating due to this. However, the brunette lady was absolutely lovely, hence the 3 stars for service (which otherwise would be too generous). The orange juice glasses came half full too. Weird considering the abundance of oranges in this city. The only good thing was the smoothie. For the price, the quality and the atmosphere, this place is NOT worth it. Avoid.

We had a fantastic experience here and would absolutely come back! The paella is delicious—perfectly cooked rice with rich, authentic flavor. The chicken skewer is really juicy and tender, one of the best we’ve had. On top of the great food, the service was excellent. Kamar was warm, attentive, and made the whole meal even more enjoyable. Highly recommend this place! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We ordered the patatas bravas and paella. Everything was very flavourful and delicious. The staff were very accommodating and went the extra mile for us. The restaurant has great ambience inside. A local from a different eatery recommended this place and we happen to even bump into him here.

Amazing food! We had the patas bravas, Spanish salad, risotto, duck hot dog, sangria, and the grilled pork sirloin steak with whiskey sauce. Everything was fantastic but the duck and the risotto took the #1 spot. Overall we were very impressed!

We thought the food was just alright, but that’s maybe because we didn’t order the signature dishes. We had the chicken wings, salmon and potato bravas. Service was fast and we got a table quickly around 6pm.

This coffee shop was on my radar being so highly rated but because of its limited open timings it was a struggle to get coffee but it sure paid off when I managed to try the coffee. Nestled on the streets beside the setas you can sit on a bench, bask in the sun and try this complex, deep flavoured that somehow wasn't bitter even without any sweetener ( I usually have coffee with sweetener). Top coffee experiences in Spain for me.
Kim Mendoza★★★★☆
Little coffee shop with lots of character! You can see in the details and interiors of the shop.
Excellent service as well. The barista was very helpful and warm when we asked about the beans and items in the menu.
We also enjoyed the coffee. Tried both iced latte Regina and espresso tonic which were both flavorful. I would’ve given it 5 stars if there were pastries. But overall, a must try!!

Cut to the chase, good food, fresh, flavorful, nicely prepared, nicely presented. We had the spinach and casserole, the flavors were unique and quite nice. The decor is casual, elegant, and comfortable. Service was friendly, would not hesitate to go there again. Recommended.

We had a great experience here. The Leidy serving us was very warm and friendly. Our orders arrived quickly, and everything was well organized. We ordered 4–5 different tapas, and even though they were tapas, the portions were quite generous. The chickpeas with spinach dish was especially delicious. Highly recommended!

I had such an amazing experience at la Gorda De Las Zetas. I prefer to eat a pescatarian menu, so finding a wide variety of vegetarian and fish dishes is always a challenge. But my awesome server, Lady, took care of me. I thoroughly enjoyed every plate. Prices were very reasonable, and I recommend the dogfish, gratiné cod, and the salmon with vegetables. Enjoy!

We had a wonderful breakfast experience at La Mala Brunch! We customized their Eggs Benedict toast by asking them to remove the bacon, and it was absolutely amazing with its sauce and bread. The pistachio cream croissant was also really good. Based on the reviews, we ordered the mascarpone pancake, and it was delicious too. In short, no matter what you order here, it is truly flavorful. The staff is very friendly, welcoming, and solution-oriented. A fantastic breakfast spot in Seville that I highly recommend without hesitation!

Delicious! Our waiter was very kind and attentive from the moment we sat down. Everything is made to order, which you can really taste in the quality. The coffee was also a standout — made just the way you like it. We’ll definitely be back!

Excellent brunch at La Mala Brunch!
We had several breakfasts there during our stay and everything was absolutely perfect. The place is modern and pleasant, although it can get a bit noisy during busy hours, which also shows how popular the restaurant is.
The menu is very varied, with both indulgent and healthy options: pancakes, bagels, bowls, brunch burgers, fresh smoothies… it’s hard to choose because everything looks delicious.
The products are fresh, beautifully presented, and the portions are generous.
A real favorite in Seville, both for the quality of the food and the atmosphere. This place truly deserves its excellent Google rating. We would definitely recommend it and gladly come back!

During my stay in Seville, this hidden gem was right in front of the apartment we rented. I initially stopped by for a coffee, but the menu looked so appetizing that I decided to order the club sandwich as well, and it was amazing! They offer both indoor and outdoor seating. The staff were super friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. A very cool spot with excellent food and coffee. Highly recommended!

One of the best and delicious brunch ever had.
The place is a little bit busy and there is a waiting list, but definitely worth the wait.
Coffee came hot and strong, food was super tasty, fresh and delicious too.
Everything was top notch quality indeed.
This is a highly recognizable place in Seville.

This was a great place for breakfast/brunch. The fruit with yogurt stood out because of the quality of the fruit they put in it. The also offered a good English breakfast that my son had and enjoyed. The service was quick and we loved the outdoor seating. They had some indoor seating as well but we opted to sit outside.

I enjoyed my breakfast here. Their Turkish eggs were great, and the ambience is really nice. This place doesn't appear to be overhyped or crowded like many other brunch spots I recommended over many other popular brunch spots around town.

If i could give cafe otto 10 stars, I would. All the cakes we tried (brownie, two kinds of cheesecakes) were one of the best we’ve ever had. Amazing savoury croissant. Came back multiple times, it was so great. The waiter (owner?) was super kind and helpful.

I might have had the best frozen strawberry daiquiri of my life here. It was icy and sweet, perfect for the Seville heat.
The garlic prawn casserole we had as a starter was so delicious, that oily sauce they were in was divine and went perfectly with a piece of bread.
Unfortunately, these were the highlights of our evening and everything else following was pretty average. I had the pork tenderloin, which didn’t taste very tender at all, with about 6 chips. We also tried the fried hake which was overcooked, dry and lacking and flavour.
For dessert, I had the chocolate coulant/fondant and was immediately disappointed to find it was also overcooked. The chocolate did not pour out of the middle but it did make for a rich moist chocolate sponge.
The service also steadily declined during our time at La Malvaloca, to the point where we were having to flag people down if we wanted any attention.
For the price, I would’ve hoped for a better experience.

What a wonderful evening. The food was amazing. We had two burgers for teenagers. They rated it top on their list. I had the cod ravioli and my husband had the Iberian Pork. Great food, extremely good service. Thank you to Kamar and to Juan for looking after us

We had such a wonderful lunch at this restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious. We ordered the dry-aged steak and eggplant, and both were outstanding. The steak was rich and flavorful, and the eggplant was perfectly cooked.
What really stood out was the service. The staff spoke English well, were incredibly friendly (BIG shout out for Salomon and Kaman!) and you could tell they genuinely enjoyed their work. They were attentive and thoughtful throughout our meal, which made the whole experience even better.
Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for great food and warm, welcoming service. We had a truly enjoyable lunch! 🥳

I got hungry around 6:00 PM and this is one of the few places that was actually still serving food at that time.
The wine was amazing, and I had the pork risotto, which was very tasty. The service was great too. I was able to sit outside and enjoy the shade and the live music.
Everything was amazing. It is a little bit on the pricey side, but it definitely saved my stomach at 6:00 PM in the afternoon.

Really cute coffee shop
Here's a rating of everything I tasted :
Salted caramel coffee: 100000/5 I can't believe, It tasted exactly like a sweet
Mango, pineapple, papaya juice: 1/5, I come from a tropical island with really sweet fruits so maybe that's why I thought the juice was a bit lame. But at least, it looked fresh
Benedictina : 3,5/5 not my best egg Benedict, but definitely a good one, don't hesitate to give it a try. The miso in the hollandaise made it a bit salty to me.
Turkish eggs : 5/5 delicious, nothing else to add
Shashuka : 4/5 mine is better, just my ego speaking
Hot chocolate: 5/5 delicious 😋 a hug that you can drink
The staff is friendly and speak English quite well so a very tourist-friendly place. Price are not very high.

I would recommend Purita small or large groups, and will definitely be visiting when I come back!

Tips for Enjoying Cafes Near Setas de Sevilla
A little local knowledge goes a long way in transforming a simple coffee stop into a memorable Sevillano ritual. The pace of life here is deliberately unhurried, and understanding a few unwritten rules will help you blend in seamlessly while making the most of every visit.
- Time your visit with local rhythms. Most Sevillanos take their first coffee between 9:00 and 11:00 a.m., often standing at the bar. If you want a quiet table, aim for mid-morning after the breakfast rush or the lull between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m., when many visitors are eating lunch.
- Embrace the standing bar culture. Many smaller cafes charge less for a coffee consumed at the bar (barra) than at a table (mesa). Standing also puts you in the middle of the lively chatter and gives you a better view of the barista’s craft.
- Order like a local when you can. While flat whites and cold brews are widely available, trying a café con leche, a cortado, or an espresso tónica can connect you more deeply to the local coffee scene. Ask the barista for their recommendation on bean origin if you order a pour-over.
- Carry a little cash. Although most modern cafes near the Setas accept cards and mobile payments, a few traditional pastelerías and smaller kiosks still prefer cash for small purchases. A €5 or €10 note will save you from missing out on a perfect pastry.
- Look beyond the front door. Many of the best spaces around the Setas have hidden back patios, upstairs galleries, or shaded terraces that are not visible from the street. If the main room looks full, ask, “¿Hay más espacio atrás?” (Is there more space in the back?).
- Respect the space during peak hours. Seville’s cafes are social hubs, but they are also workplaces for many. If you plan to open a laptop, avoid the busiest lunch and early evening hours, and always order something before settling in for an extended stay.
Wandering through the narrow lanes around the Setas with a good coffee in hand is one of the simplest pleasures Seville offers. The area rewards those who slow down, look up at the balconies draped in bougainvillea, and let the aroma of roasting beans guide their next turn. Each cafe on this list offers a slightly different window into the city’s soul, from the precise, modern craft of specialty roasters to the warm, flour-dusted counters of neighborhood bakeries.
Whether you are seeking the perfect espresso before climbing the Metropol Parasol or a shaded corner to journal after sunset, the streets around the Setas hold a cup for every mood. Take your time, chat with the baristas, and let the city’s unhurried rhythm set the pace for your day.
