10 Best Breakfast and Brunch Near Catedral de Sevilla

Standing beneath the soaring arches of the Catedral de Sevilla, with the Giralda tower casting its shadow over the cobblestones, the air is thick with the scent of orange trees and history. It is an area that demands exploration, but before you wander through the labyrinthine streets of Santa Cruz or cross the river to Triana, you need fuel. Fortunately, the streets surrounding the largest Gothic cathedral in the world are a gastronomic playground, offering everything from traditional Andalusian tostadas to innovative international brunch plates.

Finding a place to eat in such a tourist-heavy zone can be a gamble. Many establishments cater to the quick turnover of guided tours, serving overpriced and underwhelming food. However, if you know where to look, you can find the spots where locals linger over their coffee and where the produce is sourced from the nearby markets. The key is to step just a block or two away from the main facade of the cathedral to discover the hidden patios and historic bars that define Sevillian hospitality.

The concept of "brunch" has evolved in Seville over the last decade. While the traditional Andalusian breakfast remains a simple affair—typically a toasted mollete with olive oil and tomato, or a slice of tortilla—the modern brunch scene has exploded. Today, you are just as likely to find perfectly poached eggs with avocado as you are to find a plate of churros dipped in thick, dark chocolate.

Timing is everything when eating near the Cathedral. Sevillanos typically eat breakfast between 8:00 AM and 11:00 AM, and lunch is rarely considered before 1:30 PM. If you are looking for a traditional brunch, aim for the mid-to-late morning window. If you wake up later, don’t worry; many cafes and bakeries in the area serve a continuous menu that bridges the gap between breakfast and the heavy lunches that dominate the afternoon.

The architecture of the neighborhood influences the dining experience. Many of the best spots are housed in converted 18th-century mansions or tucked into quiet plazas where the sound of church bells replaces the noise of traffic. Dining here is as much about the atmosphere—the azulejo tiles, the wrought iron balconies, and the shaded courtyards—as it is about the food on the plate.

To help you navigate the culinary landscape of this historic district, we have curated a list of the top ten spots. These selections are based on ingredient quality, consistency, atmosphere, and their proximity to the main sights. Whether you are craving something sweet, savory, or strictly traditional, you will find a table that suits your mood just steps from the Puerta del Perdón.

Below is a curated selection of the best breakfast and brunch options within a short walk of the Cathedral. These venues offer a mix of local flavor and global trends, ensuring you start your day in Seville on the right foot.

Went with a group and ordered variety of items. It's amazing how they are able to perfect the different food options Highly recommend pancakes and french toast if you want sweet Pistachio latte was delicious Mala and impossible burger were amazing as well You can't go wrong with any options Only caveat the wait is long. Took us 45 min to get a table. Come early !

Absolutely the best food I’ve ever had! Every dish was incredibly delicious, and the presentation was simply outstanding. You can tell that every detail is carefully thought out. The atmosphere was amazing, the service was excellent, and I can’t wait to come back. Highly recommended!

My favourite breakfast / brunch place in Seville! The food is amazing and a good price. It tastes so fresh and there are English menu’s if needed. The staff also speak English which is very helpful and there are lots of good food options available. Sometimes it can take a while to pay if the place is busy but I definitely recommend it (especially the mascarpone pancakes and orange juice). It is also worth noting that it can get busy quite early on in the day so if you’re coming for breakfast, I recommend coming as soon as it opens to avoid queues.

For two days in a row went for brunch there. Saturday was bit busier so had to wait in line for about 10 min but it was definitely worth the wait. Portions great, menu big and actually interesting and representation amazing. Highly recommend it and cannot wait to come back.

Excellent place for breakfast. Our favourite throughout our stay in Seville. The poached eggs are perfectly cooked. Offers good value in today's climate.

Anna Archetti★★★★★
Perfect spot for brunch, with options for every taste, both savory and sweet. They also offer many vegetarian options for savory dishes. It’s located in a central area of the city and is small but well-designed. There are seats both indoors and outdoors, making it perfect for a meal that’s a little different from the usual. The service was reasonably fast, and all the staff were kind and polite. I highly recommend it.
Hannah Balogun★★★★★
I visited Moya today for breakfast, and it was amazing!! Not only was the cafe really aesthetically pleasing and beuatiful, the food was amazing, the drinks were great, the vibes were nice, the staff was amazing, especially Jara. She was really friendly, accomodating, and sweet. Overall, amazing vibes, I would definitely come back! I got the waffle, eggs, avocado, and bacon, and just a great start to my day overall. Thank you, Jara and Moya once again for your great hospitality.
Sanne★★★★★
We absolutely loved Moya — so much that we came here every single day during our week in Sevilla. My brother had recommended it from a previous trip, and he was absolutely right. I ordered the Açaí Bowl every morning, he always took the Tropical Smoothie Bowl, and another in our group went for the hummus avocado toast. All of it was consistently delicious, fresh, and beautifully prepared. The coffee was also really good — we tried both regular‑milk and oat‑milk cappuccinos (the small ones) and both were excellent. The juices were a bit on the sour side for my taste, but everything else was perfect. The staff were genuinely friendly and attentive. By the end of the week, they didn’t even need to ask for my order anymore — they remembered it. The vibe isn’t traditional Spanish; it’s more of a Bali‑style, pink, “Instagrammable” brunch spot. Not usually my type of atmosphere, but the food is absolutely amazing, so it didn’t matter at all. Truly highly, highly, highly recommend. One of our favourite breakfast places in Sevilla.
Pieter Cools★★★★★
What a pleasant surprise to discover near our hotel. A vibrant place with pink accents that immediately lightens up your day. We took the waffle with omelette and avocado and the açaí bowl. Both were freshly made and delicious. But the real star was the coffee, a Burundi origin coffee with nice floral notes and a pleasant non bitter finish. Will come back here tomorrow!
Sonia Petrini★★★★☆
Lovely spot in a small street 🙂 exactly what I was looking for. The chai latte had the perfect sweetness and temperature, and the corn fritters were good, although the avocado could've been better. I had no problem finding a place to eat, and it was not too crowded despite being Sunday. Overall very good experience! Service was very welcoming.

We had a wonderful breakfast experience at La Mala Brunch! We customized their Eggs Benedict toast by asking them to remove the bacon, and it was absolutely amazing with its sauce and bread. The pistachio cream croissant was also really good. Based on the reviews, we ordered the mascarpone pancake, and it was delicious too. In short, no matter what you order here, it is truly flavorful. The staff is very friendly, welcoming, and solution-oriented. A fantastic breakfast spot in Seville that I highly recommend without hesitation!
Yayi Girl★★★★★
Delicious! Our waiter was very kind and attentive from the moment we sat down. Everything is made to order, which you can really taste in the quality. The coffee was also a standout — made just the way you like it. We’ll definitely be back!

Excellent brunch at La Mala Brunch! We had several breakfasts there during our stay and everything was absolutely perfect. The place is modern and pleasant, although it can get a bit noisy during busy hours, which also shows how popular the restaurant is. The menu is very varied, with both indulgent and healthy options: pancakes, bagels, bowls, brunch burgers, fresh smoothies… it’s hard to choose because everything looks delicious. The products are fresh, beautifully presented, and the portions are generous. A real favorite in Seville, both for the quality of the food and the atmosphere. This place truly deserves its excellent Google rating. We would definitely recommend it and gladly come back!

During my stay in Seville, this hidden gem was right in front of the apartment we rented. I initially stopped by for a coffee, but the menu looked so appetizing that I decided to order the club sandwich as well, and it was amazing! They offer both indoor and outdoor seating. The staff were super friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. A very cool spot with excellent food and coffee. Highly recommended!
Ronnie Adel★★★★★
One of the best and delicious brunch ever had. The place is a little bit busy and there is a waiting list, but definitely worth the wait. Coffee came hot and strong, food was super tasty, fresh and delicious too. Everything was top notch quality indeed. This is a highly recognizable place in Seville.

The food is fresh, healthy, and packed with flavor. Their coffee is fantastic, and the attention to detail is top-notch. What truly makes this place special, though, is the staff. They are exceptionally kind, professional, and welcoming. If you are looking for a great start to your morning in Seville, do not miss this lovely spot. Highly recommended! 😊

We found this vibrant cafe, tucked into a street near our hotel. A perfect place to stop for fresh, healthy food with such a variety! We visited twice and would recommend. Really sets you up for a great start to a busy day. The food and coffee were excellent and the service quick, considering options and variety being prepared. A busy corner but we only waited 5 mins for a table to be cleared. Staff were so friendly and thanks to the Irishman who encouraged me to speak in Spanish! We’ll visit again on a future trip. Disfrutes… give it a try!
Savannah Cooper★★★★★
What a cozy cutie vibe, not the mention the food was very yummy too! We shared an açaí bowl, the Mediterranean tostada, and mango bagel sandwich. All were super delicious and had a great presentation. The golden latte felt like it was made of tumeric and milk, which was not for us, but they had many other drinks. The staff were also very kind. A good place for locals and tourists as they had an English menu and were understanding with my rough Spanish.
Ömer G.★★★★★
Foods were absolutely delicious. The person who served us was very kind and friendly. If you’re looking to enjoy a tasty and relaxing brunch in a cozy, boutique spot on a quiet street, I would definitely recommend this place.
Claudia Decicco★★★★★
We had the pleasure to enjoy a breakfast at Chia. The quality of ingredients is great, both for sweet and salty options. The place is tiny but comfortable and the two guys managing are making their best to give the best experience to the people on the inside. No queue in front of the place, they will accomodate you only if there is space to give everyone the best experience

Great spot to stop for a rest and something a bit different to eat if you fancy a tiny break from tapas! Very friendly service and lovely, freshly made food and great coffee! Close to the 'mushrooms' and easy to find, but it still manages to be a little oasis of calm.

If you are looking for a specialty coffee with medium roast beans, this is the place for you. This is my best coffee in Sevilla. And that banana cake is awesome, rich and flavorful. The lady at the counter is very nice and friendly. The shop is quite small and only a few seating. But it is great to sit outside and enjoy the liveliness.
Jasmijn Schoot★★★★★
I love this place with amazing vega/vegan options. The place is small, but very cozy. You can feel the kindness. The food was very tasty, if I lived close by I would definitely coming back.
Tom Roughton★★★★★
Lovely little cafe. Good coffee. Tasty vegan pastries. YES for vegan yogurt and granola bowl. Vegan empanada also great. Friendly service.

Great spot for a healthy breakfast. They offer a nice variety of healthy options, and the menu is clear and easy to understand in English. The staff is friendly and the service is quite fast. The place has a nice atmosphere. Prices are a bit higher than average. The chocolate muffin was delicious!

Incredibly delicious coffee, locally roasted. Highly recommended for that alone. All milk alternatives available. Our child adored the freshly made smoothies. Cakes were light and fluffy (babka, cinnamon roll), too, and savoury options looked delicious. Great location, just around the corner from the cathedral.

A popular breakfast place with indoor and outdoor seating. The servers are very friendly and they try to accommodate any requests/changes to orders. The service was fast and the food did not disappoint. The eggs benedict was really good, the eggs were perfectly cooked, the bacon and hollandaise sauce tasted good together. The pancakes were warm and fluffy and delicious! The omelette was seasoned well and the Moroccan tea transported me back to Morocco.

I had the Superfood Omelette, and I found it to be extremely fresh and filling. I also ordered the red detox, which was refreshing and tasty. Enrique’s customer service is top notch; he is very warm and friendly. The outdoor seating is great. I’d definitely recommend this place and I would come back here again!
Zahira Moukhlis★☆☆☆☆
The presentation of the dishes was beautiful, but unfortunately that was the only positive part of the experience. The food had almost no flavour and was very bland. The coffee also had a strange, unpleasant taste. To make matters worse, the egg dishes served during brunch had a very strong smell, which made them difficult to enjoy. Overall, the restaurant looks nice, but the quality and taste of the food were very disappointing.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had an absolutely amazing breakfast at Billy Brunch! The food was fantastic, but what really stood out was the incredible service. The gentleman who served us was outstanding, especially with our children. He was so friendly, welcoming and attentive, which made the whole experience even better. We would definitely recommend Billy Brunch to anyone looking for a great breakfast and excellent service. We will 100% be going back again! Thank you for making our visit so enjoyable. 🙌🍳🥓
Nick Bornstein★★★★★
Absolutely outstanding brunch experience in Seville! We visited Billy Brunch on a beautiful morning in Seville and it instantly became one of the highlights of our trip. From the moment we walked in, the vibrant yet relaxed atmosphere, stylish decor, and mouthwatering menu had us excited. The food was exceptional — generous portions, fresh ingredients, and perfectly executed dishes. The pancakes were fluffy and decadent, the Eggs Benedict had that perfect runny yolk, and the avocado toast was elevated with delicious toppings. Everything was packed with flavor, and they had great options for different dietary preferences too. The coffee was strong and smooth — exactly what we needed to start the day right. But what truly made our visit special was our incredible server, Rocio. She was amazing from start to finish! So friendly, attentive, and full of great recommendations. Rocio made us feel genuinely welcome, checked in at the perfect moments, and had the warmest smile the whole time. Her service went above and beyond — she made our meal feel personal and extra enjoyable. Thank you, Rocio! Billy Brunch is a must-visit if you’re in Seville. Whether you’re craving all-day breakfast, healthy options, or something indulgent, this place delivers on every level. We’ll definitely be back on our next trip to Andalusia. Highly recommend — 10/10!

We had an amazing breakfast here! Everything was fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. The food exceeded our expectations, and the atmosphere made the whole experience even better. A special thank you to Enrique for his outstanding service. He was friendly, attentive, and professional, making us feel genuinely welcome from start to finish. We visited for Sunday breakfast at opening time to avoid the busy period. We have visited the Barcelona site 2 years earlier and were pleased to recognise the same style, menu and details in Sevilla. The Eggs Benedict is lovely as are the fluffy pancakes. However, a whole portion can be a struggle to finish for one person as they are quite thick and the portion size is huge for a sweet plate of food! The avocado toast was also enjoyed and we loved the sheet of chia that was cleverly incorporated into the dish! Drinks are also good with a decent selection of hot and iced coffees to kickstart the day.
Ankur Verma★★★★★
Finally, we ended up going to this place that was really close to our hotel. It was recommended by a friend of ours, and honestly, it turned out to be one of the best places to just relax and unwind. The atmosphere was incredibly peaceful, the vibes were amazing, and the food was genuinely good too. After a long day, it was exactly the kind of spot we needed. And the best part — they had free internet finally! The staff also spoke English, which made everything so much easier and more comfortable for us. Overall, we had an amazing time there and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a chill and cozy place to enjoy good food and relax.

Great brunch place with variety of options in the menu. The superfood omelette (spinach, kale, parsley) was very delicious served with tasty sourdough bread and it is generous in portion! Coffee was average in taste, could have been better. Next time I will definitely try out their fluffy pancakes which also looks amazing!

We stopped here for breakfast/brunch and loved their menu options. Beautifully served food by a very attentive staff. Fatima served us and was super friendly, warm and helpful. I loved their pancakes and had a taste of my partners, omelette which was cooked perfectly. Overall we were very happy with our breakfast and ready for a morning of sightseeing! 😁

If I could provide 6/5 stars for the service, I would! Yann was such an incredible host - he provided us with such insightful knowledge about the city and its culture, as well as showing respect for our dietary preferences. The menu has a vast array of options and suitable for vegetarians. Although it’s not halal, the host ensured that pork is cooked and prepared separately and there are plenty of options to choose from. I had the cilbir and it was delightful! Plenty of searing available both inside and outside. Place is very popular but we didn’t need to book!
Oytun Gokler★★★☆☆
I didn’t understand the hype about here. It definitelt is a tourist place, no locals would pay 20€ for a breakfast. The food was presented like art but lacked the taste. They did definetely not look like the pictures in the menu. There was sonething really wrong about the coffe. Very friendly and fluent English speaking staff was the only positive thing.
Soumia Abouzid★★★★★
Dropped by Brunchit on my last morning in Sevilla and I’m glad I did! It’s a super aesthetic and cosy spot with aesthetically pleasing and truly good food (i felt bad touching my plate, it looked like such a work of art!) Had a chai latte with my meal and a coffee to go and both were phenomenal! Staff are also super kind and friendly (one guy especially was such a sarcastic polyglot, he unknowingly made my last day in such a beautiful city) 10/10 would go back!
Flóra Sághi★★★★★
we only planned on getting coffee, but the food options were too good to miss out on them, they had lots of vegan options. i had the best vegan pancakes of my life! i called for two meals but even one was impossible to finish. 100% would reccomend!!

Tips for Choosing the Perfect Breakfast Spot

Navigating the culinary scene around a major tourist attraction requires a bit of strategy to avoid the tourist traps and find the true gems. The area surrounding the Catedral de Sevilla is dense with options, but not all of them offer the same value or quality. By understanding local customs and knowing what to look for, you can elevate your morning meal from a simple necessity to a highlight of your trip.

Look for "Tostada con Tomate" on the Menu
If you want to eat like a local, this is the gold standard. A proper Sevillian breakfast consists of a crusty bread roll or slice of country bread, toasted, rubbed with fresh garlic, drizzled with high-quality local olive oil, and topped with grated fresh tomato. If a cafe takes pride in this simple dish, it is usually a sign that they care about their ingredients.

Check the Olive Oil Quality
Andalusia is the world’s largest producer of olive oil. A good breakfast spot will never serve you butter with your bread unless you ask for it. Look for bottles of olive oil on the table that specify a variety, such as Hojiblanca or Picual. If the oil is vibrant and green, you are in the right place.

Be Wary of "Paella" Signs at 9:00 AM
Authentic paella is a lunch dish, typically eaten on Sundays. If a restaurant near the Cathedral is displaying a large paella pan in the window at breakfast time, it is often a sign of a mass-produced tourist trap. Instead, look for menus written in Spanish on chalkboards outside smaller side streets.

Embrace the "Barra" (The Counter)
Dining at the bar is often cheaper and more authentic than sitting at a table. In Seville, many locals stand at the counter for a quick coffee and toast before work. Not only will you save money on the "terraza" or table service surcharge, but you will also get to watch the waiters work their magic with the espresso machine.

Don’t Skip the Fresh Orange Juice
Seville is famous for its bitter oranges, which decorate the streets but are generally too sour to eat raw. However, the surrounding region produces incredibly sweet juice oranges. A "zumo de naranja natural" (freshly squeezed orange juice) is a staple of any Sevillian breakfast and pairs perfectly with the salty jamón or olive oil on your toast.

Plan for a Late Start
If you are hoping for a brunch spot that serves pancakes or eggs benedict, check their opening hours carefully. Many international-style brunch cafes near the center open around 9:30 AM or 10:00 AM. If you are an early riser, stick to the traditional bars that open at 7:00 AM or 8:00 AM for the breakfast rush.

The beauty of breakfast in Seville lies in its duality. You can start your morning with a minimalist, rustic plate of bread and oil that has been eaten for centuries, or you can opt for a modern, colorful bowl of açaí and granola. Both options coexist happily in the shadow of the Cathedral, offering fuel for the thousands of steps you are about to take while exploring the Alcázar and the winding alleys of the Jewish Quarter.

Ultimately, the best breakfast is the one that allows you to pause and soak in the atmosphere. Take your time, order a second coffee, and watch the city wake up. In a place as vibrant as Seville, the morning meal is not just about nutrition; it is a ritual of connection to the land and the culture that surrounds one of Spain’s most magnificent monuments.
