The streets around Catedral de Sevilla hum with a particular kind of energy. Horse-drawn carriages clatter over cobblestones while orange trees cast dappled shade across hidden plazas. It is a district where history feels alive, and where the rhythm of the day is punctuated by the ritual of coffee.
Finding a quiet corner in this bustling tourist hub can feel like a small victory. The area directly surrounding the cathedral is packed with establishments, but not all of them offer a genuine local experience. Knowing where to step away from the main thoroughfares is the key to a memorable break.
The Sevillian coffee culture is distinct and deeply social. Locals often prefer a strong café con leche or a small, potent café solo, usually taken standing at the bar. It is less about lingering for hours and more about the quality of the roast and the brief, lively conversation with the barista.
While the Gothic architecture demands your attention, your palate deserves equal consideration. The best cafes in this area balance convenience with authenticity, serving quality beans alongside traditional pastries. Whether you need a morning boost or an afternoon respite from the Andalusian sun, the right table is waiting.
We have walked the winding alleys and peered into the sunlit terraces to curate a list of spots worth your time. From historic institutions to modern specialty roasters, this guide covers the diverse coffee landscape surrounding the largest Gothic cathedral in the world. You will find options for quick espressos, leisurely breakfasts, and sweet treats.
This selection focuses on quality, atmosphere, and proximity to the main entrance of the cathedral. Each location offers something unique, whether it is a view of the Giralda, a secret courtyard, or simply the best tostada in the neighborhood. Prepare to discover your new favorite pause in the heart of Seville.
Here is where you should be drinking coffee near the Catedral de Sevilla.

amazing food, best oxtail and carrillada with deep rich flavours
despite being located just opposite the cathedral, this is not a tourist trap, with average pricing and amazing food. came back on my second night for supper too.
small tapas portions were available for most dishes too
Debbie De Laura★★★★★
We had a lovely dinner here while visiting Sevilla. Every tapa we ordered was delicious, especially the pork sirloin, garlic prawns, shrimp fritters, and aubergine with goat cheese. Our waitress was a lot of fun and wonderful with our girls. We weren't able to get an outdoor table, but ended up loving our seat inside. There was so much to look at, and we still had a great view of everyone walking along Calle Mateos Gago.
Ioanna★★★★★
The best place to enjoy tapas and have a glass of wine, with a very warm atmosphere and an exceptionally traditional setting—so much so that you find yourself admiring it the whole time. It’s ideal, especially given its location near attractions like the church. The staff are extremely polite and very fast. You simply can’t come to Seville and not visit this place!
Vandita Ramphul★★★★☆
I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the waiters were very friendly. The aubergine and goat cheese was very good. The crispy shrimp was a bit salty though. Overall was a good experience.
Veronica Alday★★★★★
We saw all of the high reviews and decided to give Bar Catedral a try, and we were not disappointed! Tinto de verano, vino de naranja, and sangria were excellent, not too sweet or overpowering. We also ordered Carrillada De Cerdo, garlic prawn croquettes, and the paella for 2. The paella was so large it was enough to share with my family of 5.
I also wanted to highlight Gema who made our visit here very memorable. She was friendly, attentive, and hospitable!
Overall, would recommend Bar Catedral for a reasonably priced round of tapas and drinks, accompanied by great service and friendly staff.

This coffee was at most acceptable however, I personally will not return. I ordered a large Cappuchino for 3,80 € (Jan. 2026) - easily a rather elevated price but one notices that this place get frequented by tourist who look for "something special" and don't mind paying higher prices. However, the Coffee tasted quite watery like flavoured brown water with good temperatured milk foam. Nothing more and nothing less.....there are many more places in Sevilla with better coffee and a better value for money.
Vancy★★★★★
The cappuccino was flavorful and full-bodied. It’s a tiny cafe, mainly focused on to-go orders.
Since it’s sometimes not easy to find great coffee places in Seville, this spot is a real gem.
Anyone who truly loves really good coffee should definitely visit this place!
James Maurice★★★★★
If you love your independent coffee shops that do coffee well then come here. Love to try different coffee shops wherever I visit, but after one visit here, I didnt need go elsewhere. Superb coffee and great service. Get your caffeine fix here!

Great strong coffee! Got the iced latte. No flavors available though
Kiki Leahy★★★☆☆
Similar experience to other reviews- for the price, the quality was not there. The coffee I was served was over extracted and watery. For the price and specialty vibe, I would have expected higher quality tuning of the beans from the barista. Fine if you don’t really care about coffee…

Lovely cafe close the Seville Cathedral. Thank you Inez for a wonderful service. She is welcoming, warm & gives good recommendations for what to order. Tasty coffee, açai bowl & bagel sandwiches. Banana bread and cinnamon rolls were a little dry, but yummy too! Highly recommended.

Exceptional coffee and cakes - especially if your an early bird, the Jester opens at 8am!
Vegan brownie was fantastic and it was gluten free which I was genuinely suprised how nice it was. My partner had the carrot cake and loved it!
Take away service was great.

Very tasty breakfast and lunch! The selection is extensive and it is difficult to choose from all that deliciousness.
Small terrace, but definitely worth a visit! It is very popular and therefore busy.

This coffee shop was on my radar being so highly rated but because of its limited open timings it was a struggle to get coffee but it sure paid off when I managed to try the coffee. Nestled on the streets beside the setas you can sit on a bench, bask in the sun and try this complex, deep flavoured that somehow wasn't bitter even without any sweetener ( I usually have coffee with sweetener). Top coffee experiences in Spain for me.
Kim Mendoza★★★★☆
Little coffee shop with lots of character! You can see in the details and interiors of the shop.
Excellent service as well. The barista was very helpful and warm when we asked about the beans and items in the menu.
We also enjoyed the coffee. Tried both iced latte Regina and espresso tonic which were both flavorful. I would’ve given it 5 stars if there were pastries. But overall, a must try!!

This was a great place for breakfast/brunch. The fruit with yogurt stood out because of the quality of the fruit they put in it. The also offered a good English breakfast that my son had and enjoyed. The service was quick and we loved the outdoor seating. They had some indoor seating as well but we opted to sit outside.
Tahsin Khan★★★★★
I enjoyed my breakfast here. Their Turkish eggs were great, and the ambience is really nice. This place doesn't appear to be overhyped or crowded like many other brunch spots I recommended over many other popular brunch spots around town.
Karolina Szczerba★★★★★
If i could give cafe otto 10 stars, I would. All the cakes we tried (brownie, two kinds of cheesecakes) were one of the best we’ve ever had. Amazing savoury croissant. Came back multiple times, it was so great. The waiter (owner?) was super kind and helpful.

Cutest little cafe with indoor and outdoor seating. Menu had good options for those who can’t eat meat and had nice sweet treats too. The iced caramel latte was gorgeous. Our server was very helpful and polite also!

A friendly café in a nice locality a little away from the centre. You are greeted warmly by the friendly and welcoming staff. We had a baby with us and the staff made sure we had the most comfortable table close to the loo so we could also have a bit of privacy when needed. The chef also came by to discuss our dietary preferences. This was much appreciated. The vibe is quite relaxing. Although it's a busy café you can still enjoy within your own circle. The food here is all so fresh and delicious. I've had the best pasta and the traditional Sevillan breakfast here. We had to return on another 2 days of our visit. My favourite dishes are the gnocchi carbonara, the traditional Tostada as well as the focaccia. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for a very modern vibe and hearty meals at reasonable prices.
Adam Boyes★★★★★
If you're in the area I recommend having a bite here. Our apartment is just around the corner. We had a bite to eat around 3pm. It was fairly quiet. The front of house was friendly and polite. The food was really well done. Even though it was a light bite it was beautifully cooked, even asked how I would like my burger cooked. We thought it was reasonably priced. It was clean. Thanks again for enjoyable experience. Definitely would be back.
Ailsa Dempsey★★★★★
Had breakfast here after passing by, and it was absolutely worth the stop. The place was packed with both locals and tourists, which is always a good sign. The food was excellent, especially since they make their own bread. The prices are very reasonable. The staff were also fantastic and added to the overall great experience.
The only small downside for me was the croissant, it’s the curved, sugar-glazed style rather than the classic straight one. If you know your croissant, you know that’s not a proper croissant.
Having said that I’m still giving it a five stars.
Simon G★★★★★
Amazing! Glad I discovered this place on day 1 of my visit to Seville and will definitely return! My wife and I shared a salad, sandwich and ordered a smoothie each! I would recommend this 100%!
Mara Stefania★★☆☆☆
Considering the hype, we were so excited to have breakfast here. Unfortunately we left disappointed, annoyed and €100 poorer. Avoid the waffles, sandwiches, gourmet toasts, all of it. One egg on two huge slabs of toast was so odd. As a party of 6, we tried a large variety, and nothing was good. To top it off, the coffee was awful- bitter but watery. The waiter was rude, when I asked for eggs on toast, he said it’s not possible to do after 12 despite there being so many dishes including egg and toast still available at 1pm. I then asked for the hollandaise to be with toast instead of waffle, a quick and easy swap, and was met with a rude blunt ‘no’ yet again. It was new years though so maybe they were just being non accommodating due to this. However, the brunette lady was absolutely lovely, hence the 3 stars for service (which otherwise would be too generous). The orange juice glasses came half full too. Weird considering the abundance of oranges in this city. The only good thing was the smoothie. For the price, the quality and the atmosphere, this place is NOT worth it. Avoid.

This place is a great spot to grab a soft drink on the main Street near Sevilla Cathedral. The coffee is decent, but I don’t like the top. It’s way too sugary for me. My friends enjoy the cruvason. The service was just okay. The waiters seemed tired and grumpy.
Anthony Gerbavac★★★★★
Luian provided excellent service from start to finish. They were friendly, attentive, and made sure we always had everything we needed without being intrusive. The food came out quickly, and they checked on us at just the right times. Their positive attitude made the whole dining experience even better. I would definitely come back and highly recommend this restaurant because of the outstanding service!

Loved Guille’s service on our table. He was very helpful and patient with us choosing the menu.
The food tastes good & the coffee was a masterpiece!

We stumbled upon this spot while strolling the streets in Seville. There was a huge lineup to get inside which was part reason of us wanting to try it out.
Our experience was quite delightful hence not sure why they have a lower rating on here.
We were able to get seated within fifteen minutes. Ground level was packed, but we got seated on the first level, which was half empty. Menu had plenty of options, service was fine, what you would typically expect at a busy restaurant and the items we ordered were delicious.
Ita a great place to relax, socialize and grab a bite, snacks, desserts or hot beverages. That's pretty much what we had and have no hesitation in recommending this place. Would definitely revisit if were in Seville.
Adriana Andrade★★★★★
We want to share that António at the jamonería was very kind and attentive, taking the time to explain the differences between the various products.
The pastry shop's rating does not reflect the service he provided.
Un mensaje especial para Antonio: le deseamos un buen viaje hasta Lisboa. ¡hasta la próxima!

Perfect spot for brunch, with options for every taste, both savory and sweet. They also offer many vegetarian options for savory dishes. It’s located in a central area of the city and is small but well-designed. There are seats both indoors and outdoors, making it perfect for a meal that’s a little different from the usual. The service was reasonably fast, and all the staff were kind and polite. I highly recommend it.

I visited Moya today for breakfast, and it was amazing!! Not only was the cafe really aesthetically pleasing and beuatiful, the food was amazing, the drinks were great, the vibes were nice, the staff was amazing, especially Jara. She was really friendly, accomodating, and sweet.
Overall, amazing vibes, I would definitely come back! I got the waffle, eggs, avocado, and bacon, and just a great start to my day overall. Thank you, Jara and Moya once again for your great hospitality.
Sanne★★★★★
We absolutely loved Moya — so much that we came here every single day during our week in Sevilla. My brother had recommended it from a previous trip, and he was absolutely right.
I ordered the Açaí Bowl every morning, he always took the Tropical Smoothie Bowl, and another in our group went for the hummus avocado toast. All of it was consistently delicious, fresh, and beautifully prepared. The coffee was also really good — we tried both regular‑milk and oat‑milk cappuccinos (the small ones) and both were excellent.
The juices were a bit on the sour side for my taste, but everything else was perfect.
The staff were genuinely friendly and attentive. By the end of the week, they didn’t even need to ask for my order anymore — they remembered it.
The vibe isn’t traditional Spanish; it’s more of a Bali‑style, pink, “Instagrammable” brunch spot. Not usually my type of atmosphere, but the food is absolutely amazing, so it didn’t matter at all.
Truly highly, highly, highly recommend. One of our favourite breakfast places in Sevilla.
Pieter Cools★★★★★
What a pleasant surprise to discover near our hotel. A vibrant place with pink accents that immediately lightens up your day. We took the waffle with omelette and avocado and the açaí bowl. Both were freshly made and delicious. But the real star was the coffee, a Burundi origin coffee with nice floral notes and a pleasant non bitter finish. Will come back here tomorrow!
Sonia Petrini★★★★☆
Lovely spot in a small street 🙂 exactly what I was looking for. The chai latte had the perfect sweetness and temperature, and the corn fritters were good, although the avocado could've been better. I had no problem finding a place to eat, and it was not too crowded despite being Sunday. Overall very good experience! Service was very welcoming.

Panypiu is a very pleasant spot for breakfast or a light meal. The coffee is excellent, and both the croissant and the sandwich are fresh and tasty, making for a satisfying combination. Overall, it’s a simple but high-quality place that works well for a relaxed start to the day in Seville.

Bakery with delicious and varied food options. We tried the focaccia, pistachio croissant, milk bun and apricot pastry and all were perfect, as was the coffee

Found this place thanks to Google reviews. What a wonderful cafe bakery. First visit to Seville and this cafe and the staff are friendly and helpful. Supportive to you learning Spanish but also speak in English if you get stuck.
We weren’t exactly sure of how to get served at first but approached the counter to wait. A couple of times we were missed but I honestly think that was down to us speaking to each other - so we weren’t interrupted. As soon as we stood with purpose and engaged, made eye contact with staff, we were served.
The food we ordered was wonderful, I had the spinach quiche and OH MY WORD! Out of this world, I’m pretty convinced there was goats cheese in it. Whatever cheese it was it was lush and the texture of the warmed quiche with the salad and balsamic was spot on.
Cappuccino for me. Appletiser and bagel with ham cheese and rocket for my partner. He loved it too. Highly recommended. The interior and atmosphere is also very calming and welcoming. One thing I also love is the thought to add hooks under the table for your belongings. Wish more places in the UK thought to do this.
Facilities include - fully accessible toilet, baby changing space in there and I spotted a highchair too. Everyone is welcome.
Alexander Slipchenko★★★★★
Pretty decent experience overall. Good breakfast options, a lot of nice pastry. English breakfast good, but on a small side of scale. Cards are accepted. In the morning can be pretty hectic - queue is rather unorganized and seating places are pretty scarce.

Panypiu - Bread and much more
The best bakery in Seville! I’ve been trying many croissants almost 4 weeks in Seville.
Among nice bakeries in the city, I found this place as my number one because it has more than just pan 🙂
My favorites were the croissant and pain au chocolat. They are crispy outside, moist inside from enough butter. For me, the chocolate in pain au chocolat was also rich and just right. And the price is reasonable, the size is very generous.
The staffs are so patient and warm- hearted even when it’s too busy which is always.
They are focused on what they should serve. I think the team works very efficiently. I admire their work.
I already became a repeat customer here.
My breakfast time here was the happiest time during my stay in Seville 🙂
I hope all best to everyone who works here. 👍

Probably the best cafe in Seville, my second visit to this outlet in another branch. Smoothie was delicious and reasonably priced. Sandwiches and lunches are also fairly priced. This is certainly one of the best bars/restaurants in the area. Do take the time to enjoy the history and architecture of the building. However the charm is in obtaining an outside table and watching the world pass by. Service team are quite friendly and reactive. We visited several times and our experiences were consistent across the visits. Foods is quite good and certainly good value, presentation is a little lacking on certain dishes. Salads were particularly enjoyable. Overall a bar not to miss.
Nyxcel Barrera★★★★☆
If you are touring around the area on the clock and finding a place to dine, you may want to skip the place as it takes a while to get served though the food is 10 out 10 especially the fried goat and grilled baby squid with black rice amazing. The staff is not so accommodating but nice. The first guy who serve was fast but when the lady took over up until the writing of this review i still don’t have my soda and my sangria is up. 🙈 if I was choking i’d be dead now.
On a serious note. I would recommend the place as the food is tasty just spare ample time to dine here.

Hubby found this recommended on Pinterest so we came here after one of our excursions. Not to be disappointed! Best Jamón we had the whole of our visit to Seville. They were very busy inside and out but they had a table
For us by the window.. met some wonderful people that were students and had made friends in a hostel the night before. We had Tapas and drinks and had a lovely time there. The decor is quite something ☺️

Luckily there’s seating upstairs and people were just leaving, so we snagged a table. The view of the dining area from there is neat. The service was quick and friendly. The food was hot and tasty. This was the perfect place to grab some food and cold drinks, you should definitely dine here!

To ensure you have the best possible experience—and avoid common pitfalls like inflated prices or mediocre quality—it helps to understand the local customs and timing. The following advice will help you drink coffee like a local and make the most of your visit to this beautiful district.
1. Stand at the Bar for the Best Price
In many traditional Sevillian cafes, there is a price difference between table service and bar service. If you are on a budget or just want a quick caffeine hit, order your coffee while standing at the bar. It is faster, cheaper, and offers a more authentic glimpse into daily local life.
2. Time Your Visit to Avoid the Cruise Ship Crowds
The area around the cathedral becomes incredibly congested between 10:30 AM and 1:00 PM, and again in the late afternoon. For a more peaceful coffee break, visit early in the morning when the city is waking up, or during the traditional Spanish lunch hour (around 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM) when many tourists are eating.
3. Know Your Coffee Order
While you can get a standard "café con leche" (half coffee, half hot milk) anywhere, it is worth trying a "café manchado" (mostly milk with a splash of coffee) if you prefer a lighter drink. For something cold during the hot summer months, ask for a "café con hielo," which is an espresso served with a glass of ice.
4. Look for the Tostada de Aceite
Coffee in Seville is often incomplete without a breakfast toast. Skip the expensive pastries designed for tourists and order a "media tostada con aceite y tomate" (half a toasted roll with olive oil and crushed tomato). It is a staple of the Andalusian morning and pairs perfectly with a robust espresso.
5. Bring Cash for Small Purchases
While most modern cafes and specialty coffee shops near the cathedral accept credit cards, some traditional corner bars have a minimum spend for card transactions. If you are just stopping for a single espresso, having a few coins or a small bill on hand will make the transaction much smoother and faster.
The area surrounding the Catedral de Sevilla is more than just a photo opportunity; it is a living neighborhood with a rich gastronomic heartbeat. Taking the time to stop for a coffee allows you to slow down and appreciate the details that rush-by tourists miss. The clink of a spoon against ceramic and the aroma of freshly ground beans are as much a part of the city’s fabric as the sound of the church bells.
Whether you choose a modern specialty brew or a classic bar serving the same recipe for decades, you are participating in a daily ritual that defines the city. As you step back out into the sunlight to face the grandeur of the cathedral, you will do so with a bit more energy and a deeper connection to the Sevillian way of life.
