We were looking to have a quick bite before we go to our next destination around 7:30 pm on Saturday and we search a tapas restaurant close to us and we came across this restaurant. We wanted to seat outdoor and they have a big area for the outdoor dining which was amazing. The menu was simple with photos so no language barrier issues. Alvaro was our waiter and he was amazing. He was tentative and spoke English well so it made our order even easier. The staff were very friendly and we loved our experience. We wanted to stay for a drink for few minutes but we stayed for food and almost an hour. Definitely if you are thinking to relax, have great food and amazing service this is your place

Sometimes the best places are the ones that don’t try too hard. Tapa Tapa is exactly that. A relaxed spot for sharing a few tapas, having a cold beer, and taking a break from exploring Madrid.
The tortilla was freshly made, the Iberian ham was exactly what you’d expect in Spain, and the croquetas disappeared much faster than planned. Nothing overcomplicated—just good ingredients done well.
If you’re looking for an authentic local tavern, this isn’t it. But if you want a lively atmosphere, reliable tapas, and a place where it’s easy to sit longer than you intended, Tapa Tapa is a solid choice.

This place is just PERFECT. Delicious food, fresh ingredients, and super friendly staff!! 10/10 recommend!
The seafood here is absolutely amazing, and I REALLY RECOMMEND the Black Rice - honestly a 15/10 dish, incredibly rich and divine. If you like seafood, you will NOT go wrong. The prawns and baby squid were also REALLY GOOD!
Huge thanks to the Rouss for being so accommodating and helpful, and to Isabel and Agustin for being such wonderful, attentive servers. You guys made our night even better.
The restaurant is very clean and has a warm, welcoming atmosphere. It was truly a great dining experience - I’ll definitely be back!

The food was amazing and absolutely delicious. It was definitely worth the price. However, the staff did not speak English, so I had some difficulty communicating with them and ordering my food.
Apart from that, everything was great. I would definitely recommend this bar, especially for their special dish: steak and French fries. It was delicious!

Had dinner here with my family. They have a few tables outside. All the dishes we had were really good. The pull pork sliders, the picanha and the solomillo. All great. I also had their homemade tinto de verano and that was also very good. Will go there again.

This is a nice spot to stop for a beer, but it’s not the best place for a drink and tapas in Madrid. I had high hopes based on the reviews, but I found the food to be very average.
That being said, staff are lovely, and there is a fair amount of outdoor seating

We had a dinner here. When we have arrived the waitress told us, we can sit only to the high table with the barchairs. It was not to comfortable but we had a good dinner at here. The staff was friendly, but their english is not too strong.

Outstanding! A truly authentic experience for us Australians with less than 24 hours in Madrid. It’s the kind of place we love - very friendly, and where locals come to eat and drink, where it has a lively atmosphere and very good traditional tapas food and wine that isn’t trying to be avant garde. I also asked the lovely guy if I could try a beer and I was served a draft El Aguila - which I loved. Will definitely come back if I’m back in Madrid! Thank you to La Mirilla for looking after us!

Awesome tapas, great atmosphere, 10/10 vermouth.
There are some well kept secrets of the gastronomy that you should definitely NOT miss. As the Spanish Tortillas togheter with the Gazpacho soup. Not to mention the croquettes and the anchovy.
Highly recommend and the atmosphere is quite unique.

Absolutely loved this place!! A simple, authentic spot full of character and atmosphere. Every dish we ordered was delicious, and the only downside was getting full before we could try more from the menu. The service was warm and welcoming, and the whole experience felt genuinely local. Highly recommended if you’re visiting Madrid!

El Minibar is an absolute gem in Madrid! The food is wonderful, offering creative and delicious tapas like the award-winning Tapa Bretón. The atmosphere is incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home instantly. On top of that, the space is beautiful, cozy, and full of character. It is the perfect spot for a casual yet memorable dinner. Highly recommended!

A small place near central Madrid. Air conditioned which was a savior today at 98degrees. Had a tomato and lettuce salad, gazpacho, spiced potatoes and fried cod with shrimp. Everything was excellent and in tapas portions was more than enough for two people. All washed down with beer. The menu is larger and varied and portions can be tapas sized or larger for sharing with a bigger group. Definitely worth a lunch or dinner stop.

Excellent tapas experience in Madrid. I came here on a Sunday afternoon around 1:00 PM right when they opened, and within a few minutes the place filled up quickly. I didn’t have a reservation, but since I was dining solo they were kind enough to seat me. You may want reservations if you’re coming during busy hours.
I had the melted goat cheese appetizer with what tasted like fig jam and a balsamic glaze, paired with the bread they served, absolutely delicious and very rich in the best way. I also ordered the ham croquettes, which were excellent as well. Between those two dishes and two Cokes, it was more than enough food for one person.
The atmosphere is quaint and very Madrid. The staff was efficient and friendly. I read many great reviews beforehand and after eating here I understand why. A local favorite. Highly recommend if you’re looking for authentic tapas in central Madrid.
Timothy Redman★★★★★
My dining companion and I were looking for a quick drink and snack after touristing hard. We found this cozy place right off the main drag. We ordered drinks, and food, tuna tataki, and the duck confit. Both delightfully tasty, savory, and rich. What a treat! Our appetite satiated, we once again took to the crowded streets of Madrid.
Josh Siu★★★★★
Food was good. Service was good (although we heard one of the servers be a bit curt with the next table about having to buy food to sit at the table, not just drinks). They offered a free little tapa while we waited for our food. Space is a bit smaller so you might be at the bar during a busy time.
My spouse wanted lemonade but they didn’t have any. When asked for water with lemon and they cut an entire lemon to add to her water - awesome!
What to got:
- ham croquettes
- shrimp croquettes (a hint of spiciness)
- crispy wild boar (in a spring roll deep fried outer layer)

I visited many tapas bars during my few days in Madrid, and this one left the strongest impression on me.
It was small, loud, and crowded like most places in the area during the evening. We had to wait for a table, and the one we got was in a less-than-pleasant corner of the basement. But… the food and the homemade vermouth were the best I’ve ever tried. Excellent taste and presentation. The waiter was very professional, which made the experience even better.
I would definitely recommend visiting!
Jordan★★★☆☆
Unfortunately the food didn’t match the fantastic service. We shared various plates such as the anchovies with tomato and bread ,the anchovies with blue cheese , cured ham which in fairness was very nice and smoky. The black pudding and also pork cheeks were very disappointing, dry and lacklustre.
The vermouth was exceptional as was the waiters service.
I feel sad the food wasn’t the same.
Columbus OH★★★★☆
We were seated downstairs, which was noticeably less appealing than the upstairs area. Our table was wobbly, and switching tables didn’t help. The bathroom door looked dirty, and the downstairs space overall felt unkempt. Service was very slow; the waiter was clearly working hard, running up and down the stairs, but simply couldn’t keep up.
That said, the food was tasty, especially the fish balls. We ended up ordering two. Main dish portions were on the small side though. If we had been seated upstairs, the experience might have been much better.

We arrived hungry at 4 pm on Friday after a long day of traveling. Got ourselves 2 stools and a table. Our waiter took care of the customers in the order they came in. We ordered what he recommended #1, 5, 9 and 2 glasses of house white. He gave us a some anchovies and chips while we waited.
All I can say is.. It was so delicious!
The tapas came in this order and one was better than before.
9. Smoked sardines on (freshly mashed tomatoes) toast.
5. Smoked salmon with tzatziki sauce (lovely black caviar) on toast.
1. Prawn with mayonnaise and spring onion spread on toast. It came out hot and the shrimp was fresh and cooked perfectly.
We ordered a third glass to share because the wine paired so well with the prawn toast.
We got full, happy, and satisfied.
We really enjoyed ourselves and highly recommend Taberna La Concha.
Barbara Bačurin★★★★★
NOT a tourist trap!
Get the prawn on toast as well as the pork in 3 cheese sauce on toast along with the vermouth cocktail. You will love it! From the service (Kristian was an amazing host!), the food, the atmosphere - its everything you want from a tapas bar on THE tapas street in Madrid. Genuinely sad we went there on our last night bacause we would definitely have come back multiple times during our stay.

Great restaurant with a bar area at the front and tables at the back. The tables for 2 are tiny and you are very close to the next table, we were lucky in that both neighbouring tables were finishing up as we arrived. Service was very efficient. Food was delicious. We had a bottle of wine (16.50),baby squid with salad, tortilla and a beef dish. The squid was so good we ordered a second portion. The bill came to a reasonable 42.40

We had a wonderful time at Taberna El Sur. The service was amazing as was the food. It was very busy, despite being fairly early on a Monday evening, and the crowd looked to be made up of more locals than tourists, which is always a good sign.
We had the iberico plate, moussaka, pork cheeks, octopus and garlic prawns. The only slight miss was that the prawns had a bit of grit in them, though the flavor was great. We tried a number of Spanish wines, each better than the last. Highly recommend.

we had a fantastic experience dining here! first of all, the restaurant is small but cozy and clean, with the staff welcoming us in as soon as we stepped through the door. the menu is english-friendly, so it was easy for us to order traditional spanish food. my favourite was the Chipirones a la plancha, the squid 🦑was seasoned well and cooked to perfection, happiness in every bite! the mayo paired really well with it, as well as the fresh salad. it was also nice to try the ham/mushroom croquetas and Tortilla de Patatas 🥔. the sweet and refreshing sangria was also the perfect drink alongside the dishes on a hot day. the host also gave us complimentary bailey shots after our meal, which was so nice 🫶 really recommend this place if you're looking to try some traditional, authentic spanish food and tapas!!! 💪🍷

We dined here as a group of three and had a great experience. The food was really delicious, and the prices were very reasonable for the quality. The staff were also very friendly and welcoming, which made our meal even more enjoyable. Definitely a great place to enjoy Spanish food in Madrid. Highly recommended!

This was not our first visit to this restaurant. We have been a number of times before, but I decided it was time for an update. This little bar is not a super deluxe dinning establishment, it is a wonderful Taberna with a good range of drinks including vermont on tap, typical of so many bars in Madrid. The wine list is small with a reasonable selection of good priced wines. A wonderful selection of starter and main dishes to enjoy. Don't over order there isn't the space on your table, service is good even when very busy. Tables are small and the stalls for table eating are smaller than most, but don't let this deter you, there is a bench seat against the wall running both sides of the entire length of the dinning area. It always appears to be busy so it can feel a little cramped, but that all adds to the atmosphere. During our meal we spoke to our neigbouring tables on one side a couple from Canada who first visited with their son and this was their second visit. On another table sat 4 young students they dine here regularly. Considering this the age ranges from young 20's , a couple in their 50's and us two young at hart retired 69 & 73 year oldies. I hope this all helps explain the warm welcome and wonderful atmosphere that makes this restaurant our favouite when visiting Madrid and I do suggest you give it a try, but remember it is a bar not a 5star restaurant, but excellent value for money Our bill may not be typical of others but we did go a little overboard with 4 starters between us, 2 mains and a shared desert not to mentioning bottles of wine, water, beer, liquors and coffees. Our total spend does include our tip for the great service.

Great food, fun atmosphere, and a really unique place. We tried the Crazy Tasting Menu and everything we had was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The cocktails were also excellent and served in very creative glasses.
The décor and overall vibe make the experience different from a typical restaurant, and the staff were friendly and attentive throughout the evening.
The only small downside is that the tables are quite close to each other, so it can feel a bit crowded when the restaurant is full. Other than that, we had a fantastic time and would definitely come back. Highly recommended if you’re visiting Madrid!

What a fun place! We were at their location across the street, called Chic. We wanted something different and this checked all the boxes. We had to order everything at the same time, but food and drinks came out quickly. Ask about portion sizes if you aren't sure - the bao buns are ordered by each bun, not i.e. a plate of 3 & the risotto was too large to eat by yourself. All of the drinks were tasty & they brought us a free shot at the end! We would visit again!
Brant Brown★★★★★
Rosi La Loca is a wonderfully ridiculous stop in Madrid, and I mean that as a compliment. This is not the place for a quiet, candlelit dinner where you whisper about life goals. It is bright, loud, colorful, creative, and committed to the bit. The energy is the main event. The food and sangria were good, but what you really remember is the room, the plating, the snakes holding drinks, the neon bathroom situation, and the general feeling that someone gave a design team sugar and no adult supervision.
The sangria was excellent, and the ham croquettes were the standout. Truly A+. Like lay-in-bed-later-thinking-about-them good. Service was also fun and friendly, which matters in a place this playful. It could easily become gimmicky and annoying, but it didn’t. The staff seemed to understand the assignment.
A couple of practical notes: the QR menu is terrible, so bring patience or someone at the table who enjoys fighting technology before dinner. Seating can also be a little awkward, depending on where they put you. I’d reserve ahead, go in expecting more “colorful outing” than traditional fine dining, and not make this your big romantic Madrid dinner unless your version of romance includes pink lighting and cocktail snakes.
Overall, I loved it. I’d score it a 4.5 that gets rounded up to a friendly 5. It is not quite a 5 in the traditional restaurant sense, but it absolutely delivers on what it is trying to be: fun, memorable, creative, and a little nuts in the best way.

My first dinner in Madrid and it was a great experience. Excellent food, beautiful atmosphere, and professional service. I arrived late due to a navigation issue, but the staff handled it gracefully and still welcomed me warmly. They also carefully accommodated my dietary restrictions and prepared a non-alcoholic celebratory shot for me. Bravas Locas and Burrata Alocada were delicious. Great value for the quality of the experience.

After reading many positive reviews, we decided to come here for lunch without a reservation, and it did not disappoint.
The food was excellent, and the service was outstanding. A special thanks to Napla, who recommended the Grilled Octopus with Mashed Potatoes as our starter—it was absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked. We also tried the Signature Paella, which was fantastic. The seafood was incredibly fresh, and the flavors were well balanced.
To top off the meal, we were treated to complimentary shots of coffee liqueur and ice cream, which made for a wonderful ending to an already memorable dining experience.
Highly recommended for both the quality of the food and the warm hospitality. We will definitely return.

I don't know where to start. We went there because of the hight google reviews a group of 6. Unfortunately we were super disappointed. There was nothing we enjoyed. From the crispy chicken, steak and the paella 🥘. The tomatoe and onion salad that was something around 14 euros was good. Yes good for tomatoes 🍅 and onions 🌰. The manager was not friendly at all even though we did not complain about the food. It was like eat and leave service. Too uptight of an atmosphere. I would not recommend 😐

This place truly lives up to its reviews 🤗
The staff were especially thoughtful — they brought us lemon and spices without us even having to ask, and we were pleasantly surprised with a small treat at the end.
If you order the paella, just be aware that some of the shellfish (like clams) can have a slightly strong seafood flavor.
The sangria and the cheesecake for dessert were absolutely delicious!! And GABRIEL was incredibly kind and friendly. Highly recommend!
Grace Zhanel★★★★☆
I love the Paella especially the rice, the flavor was rich and have wonderful smell and mouthfeel. We got the steak paella and it was great, the only thing was the streak of fat was still there, that’s the thing for the -1 star. The octopus galician style was also pretty good, very comparable to the ones i’ve had in Galicia. The server was very nice and very attentive, I had a great dining experience here! I would come back probably for the mixta or seafood paella!🥘

Tips for Enjoying Tapas Near Sorolla Museum
Navigating the tapas culture in Madrid is an art form in itself, and knowing a few local customs can elevate your experience from good to unforgettable. While the bars near the museum are welcoming, they operate on a rhythm that differs from standard restaurants. Understanding the timing, ordering etiquette, and payment methods will help you blend in seamlessly with the regulars and ensure you get the best service possible.
- Mind the Meal Times: Spaniards eat late. If you arrive at 6:00 PM, the kitchen might be closed. The best time for a late lunch (la comida) is between 1:30 PM and 3:30 PM, while dinner (la cena) rarely starts before 8:30 PM or 9:00 PM. The "after-work" tapas rush usually happens between 7:00 PM and 8:30 PM.
- Embrace the Bar vs. Table Dynamic: Standing at the bar is often cheaper and more authentic than sitting at a table. Many places charge a small supplement for "terraza" (outdoor seating) or "mesa" (table service). If you are just having a quick bite, grab a spot at the counter where you can point at the dishes on display.
- Know Your Portion Sizes: A "tapa" is a small portion often served free or for a small fee with a drink in traditional bars. A "ración" is a full plate meant for sharing, and a "media ración" is a half plate. If you are hungry, order a couple of raciones rather than many tapas.
- Order the House Specialty: Every great tapas bar has a signature dish. Look for the item everyone else is ordering, check the chalkboard menus, or ask the waiter "¿Cuál es la especialidad de la casa?" This is usually where the kitchen shines brightest and ensures you get the freshest ingredients.
- Cash is King (Sometimes): While credit cards are widely accepted, many traditional bars prefer cash for small transactions or have a minimum spend for card payments. Keep a €20 note in your pocket to avoid awkward moments when paying for a quick beer and a pincho.
The area surrounding the Sorolla Museum is a testament to Madrid’s ability to preserve its culinary heritage while embracing the modern palate. As you step out of the museum, the clinking of glasses and the aroma of sizzling garlic and olive oil serve as an invitation to continue your sensory journey. Taking the time to linger over a vermouth and a plate of anchovies is not just eating; it is participating in the social fabric of the city.
Whether you choose a historic tavern with sawdust on the floor or a sleek, contemporary gastrobar, you are guaranteed a meal that reflects the warmth of the neighborhood. Let the spirit of Sorolla guide you—appreciate the light, savor the details, and enjoy the vibrant colors of the food in front of you. This is Madrid at its most delicious and welcoming.
