12 Best Hotels Near Sagrada Família

Barcelona’s skyline is defined by the impossible, soaring spires of Antoni Gaudí’s Basilica de la Sagrada Família. As one of the most visited monuments in Europe, it anchors the Eixample district with a magnetic pull that draws millions of travelers every year. Finding a place to stay within walking distance of this architectural marvel transforms a standard city break into a seamless cultural pilgrimage.

The neighborhood surrounding the basilica offers a distinct advantage over the Gothic Quarter or the beachfront. It is quieter, more residential, and filled with authentic local bakeries, tapas bars, and tree-lined avenues that feel distinctly Catalan. Staying here means you can visit the basilica early in the morning to beat the crowds or simply gaze at the illuminated Nativity Facade from your balcony at night.

However, the area is vast, and the quality of accommodation varies wildly from luxury boutiques to cramped budget rooms. The key is to balance proximity to the monument with access to the metro system, which connects you to the rest of the city in minutes. The L2 and L5 lines intersect at Sagrada Família station, making it one of the best-connected hubs in Barcelona.

When selecting a hotel, consider the view versus the noise. The streets directly facing the basilica are bustling with tourists and traffic from dawn until midnight. A room with a direct view is spectacular, but a hotel located a few blocks away on a side street often provides a more restful night’s sleep without sacrificing convenience.

Budget travelers will find that the area offers excellent value compared to the Old Town, with modern amenities and larger rooms. Meanwhile, those celebrating a special occasion can find rooftop pools and terraces that offer uninterrupted views of Gaudí’s masterpiece. The diversity of options means there is a perfect match for every type of traveler.

Accessibility is another critical factor. Many of the best hotels here are housed in modern buildings with elevators, which is not always a guarantee in Barcelona’s historic center. For families and travelers with mobility concerns, the flat grid layout of the Eixample is far easier to navigate than the narrow, cobbled alleys of the Barri Gòtic.

We have analyzed guest reviews, location data, and amenity offerings to curate a list that prioritizes comfort, authenticity, and value. Whether you want a five-star sanctuary or a clean, efficient base for exploration, these are the best places to stay near the Sagrada Família.

I'm incredibly grateful to this hotel. We messed up our reservation and almost didn't have a room for the number of people we needed, but the polite staff member, Serena, helped us resolve it 30 April. Thank you! The hotel itself is in the city center. Close and convenient to all the sights. The breakfasts are varied. There's a wonderful terrace. Everything was spotlessly clean. We were very satisfied!
John Truong★★★★★
The hotel’s spot is perfect if you want to get around the city easily. It is a five minute walk to the metro plus it is close to the Sagrada Família. There is plenty of food spots in the area as well. The service was excellent and they also have a €8 breakfast buffet everyday which is nice if you don’t want to travel far for food in the morning.

I don't usually leave Google reviews, but I hope this helps anyone planning to book a stay here. Aside from its good location, this is a place I would never visit again. The staff showed absolutely no friendliness, and personal belongings were damaged or went missing after housekeeping services. And I asked not to take the spare room card but the house keeping took it twice with no reason. Furthermore, the bedding caused itching the moment I lay down. The city tax is not included in the reservation so you need to pay onsite and the rooftop view is practically non-existent.
Johnny★☆☆☆☆
Booked via Booking.com with a tourist tax of €412.80 stated in the agreement. I emailed the property in January to confirm this and got no response. At check-in on 23rd June, I was told the tax had risen 50% to €627 — a change that came into effect back in April, giving them nearly three months to inform me. They didn’t, and the original agreement said nothing about the tax being variable. With nowhere else to stay, I paid it under protest and formally disputed the charge. I have evidence of my January request and their total lack of communication beforehand. Poor transparency and communication — left me paying far more than agreed, under pressure, at check-in.

The location is perfect, 5 mins away from Sagrada Familia. The rooms are clean and modern, the staff is helpful. However some rooms are right next to the elevator so you can imagine the noise every time someone is using it. Also our room had so small window that all the day we had to use the lights on. Have in mind that there city taxes NOT included in the price you pay when making the reservation.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had an amazing stay at Sercotel Hotel Barcelona! From the moment I arrived, the staff was incredibly welcoming, friendly, and always willing to help with anything I needed. Their excellent customer service made me feel right at home. The location is fantastic—just a short walk from the breathtaking Sagrada Família, making it easy to explore one of Barcelona’s most iconic landmarks. One of the highlights of my stay was the rooftop terrace. The panoramic view of the Sagrada Família, especially at night, is absolutely stunning and unforgettable. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and exceeded my expectations in every way. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Barcelona. Thank you to the entire team for making my trip so memorable!

Perfect location! Friendly Staff! Beautiful rooms! Honestly if you’re going to be in Barcelona this is the place to be because their rooftop has STUNNING views of the Sagrada Família. The food and drinks were delish too! Tip well and the guys will take care of you!

We went to have some drinks at the Sercotel terrace and it was a great experience. The views of the Sagrada Familia are stunning… it’s the perfect spot for a drink while taking in one of the best views in Barcelona. The food was great too, we had patatas bravas and nachos, both really good, and the drinks were well served. The prices are very fair considering the location. I also have to mention the service from Emsi, one of the waiters. He was extremely attentive and helpful the whole time, on top of every detail, and really friendly, which made the visit even better. We’ll definitely be back, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great spot for drinks with unforgettable views. Thank you so much for such a good experience Emsi!

Fabulous food and cocktails. Prices reasonable for the location. Incredible view of the Sagrada possibly the best in Barcelona and well worth the entrance fee. Booked ahead and asked for a table with unobstructed views and they accommodated that with a great table for our first night in Barcelona. Highly professional and friendly staff. The bar has a great vibe and atmosphere that made our trip so memorable. Highly recommend.

Staff is extremely helpful! Another rude guest tried to interrupt while the front desk was helping me. She was polite yet stern to let him know he would have to wait. She also made it extremely easy to preset airport transportation. And another front desk staff was helpful and patient to assist us in prechecking for our flight with a language difference. And the view of the church was spectacular. Highly recommend this hotel!

I had a very disappointing experience at this hostel. The receptionist was extremely rude and disrespectful. According to the email I received from the hostel, my room would be ready at 2:00 PM, and it clearly stated that I could leave my luggage at the hostel until check-in. However, when I arrived, the receptionist only asked for my name. After I told him, he simply said the room was not ready and refused to let me in. When I asked to leave my luggage, he kept me waiting outside for a long time before finally opening the door. My phone battery was only 3%, and I politely asked if I could use a power outlet for a few minutes while waiting for my room. He refused and said I couldn’t use any outlet until my room was ready. To make things even worse, my room had a very loud noise throughout the night, making it almost impossible to sleep. I would not recommend this hostel to anyone. There are much better and cheaper places to stay nearby with staff who actually know how to treat their guests. I sincerely hope the management addresses the behavior of this receptionist because he creates a terrible first impression and damages the reputation of the hostel.
Sofia Kuti★☆☆☆☆
The staff were very rude and unwelcoming. The kitchen was not tidy, the bathrooms were messy, and our room was broken into by our male neighbours. The all-girls room felt unsafe. Rude bunk mates. AND it failed to mention there was a no alcohol rule on the website! also there is no vending machine...
FoodTravel★☆☆☆☆
Im few years late to leave a review but back then their system was to write down on a book if you gave 5 euro deposit for a padlock,. Yet the receptionist didn't for me. When i went to do the checkout she didn't want to give me the money back cause according to her that padlock was mine.

Lovely staff, felt like being at home and you made my experience so amazing and I actually found the place where I will stay during my future travels. Activities that brings your experience feel more like home and you will get new friends on the way. 9 pm activity with cooking together and eating together was fun and enjoyable. Calm, fun and it's easy accessable, comfortable, and it's in the heart of Barcelona 💕

This establishment is exceptionally well managed, ensuring a consistently tidy and clean environment for all guests. The hostel features a spacious kitchen, perfect for preparing meals, and a large common area ideal for relaxation and socializing. You will find the staff to be exceptionally friendly and polite, always ready to assist with any needs. Its prime location offers convenient access to numerous supermarkets for your shopping convenience. Many restaurants and bars around too. The overall experience is one of comfort and excellent service. It truly provides a welcoming atmosphere for travelers.

The hostel is very clean and well organized. The fact that all beds have curtains gives more privacy which is great. The lockers seem small but are actually quite spacious and you can easily fit so much in there. The common spaces inside the hostel are also quite spacious, super nice and really comfortable, and they were clean at all times. During my stay the hostel seemed to be full of guests but it was almost completely quiet at all times and the environment isn’t noisy at all, so it’s easy to work or take some quiet time as well. Hostel’s location is amazing and was close to pretty much every place that i had planned to visit while in Barcelona, plus, there are many great places to eat or have drinks around the hostel area. I highly recommend !

Amazing hostel. Stayed in an 18 bed dorm with 3 friends. Quiet, private and a super safe locker. Mica's pub crawl with a club visit was insane value for money and so enjoyable. She hosted it very well and communication during the night was constant and clear. Hostel was sociable and super clean. Would highly recommend.

Billy and Tony work extremely hard to keep the hostel clean and in working order. I stayed long enough to get to know several interesting people staying there. It was safe. They had a good dinner every night for anyone who needed or desired it. If I ever come down to Miami, I'll definitely stop in to say hi or stay here again. Thanks for the hospitality guys!

I’m currently staying at Hola Hostal Eixample and I’m having a great experience. The location is perfect, very central and close to public transport, which makes it easy to explore Barcelona. The staff are extremely friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help. They speak several languages, which makes communication very easy and comfortable for international travelers. The hostel is clean, well-organized, and has a very good atmosphere. The beds are comfortable, and I appreciate the lockers and security. The common areas are nice to relax and meet other travelers. Overall, it’s a very good experience so far, and I would definitely recommend Hola Hostal Eixample to anyone visiting Barcelona. I would happily stay here again!

Fantastic little hostel, I chose the room with four bunkbeds, it was nice not to have too many people in one room. They have digital lockers available within the room with lots of storage space, the atmosphere was friendly with other guests, the room had air-conditioning, which was really important and it wasn’t too loud either. They have good showers and good bathroom facilities. Downstairs there is a large kitchen with all the appliances that you would need, large seating table and sofa area. I stayed for two nights, had a wonderful day, the owners were always available online when I needed them. There was also a Cleaner during the day who was very helpful indeed. Overall a fantastic place to stay and I would stay there again when coming back to Barcelona. It was a block and a half away from Familia sagrada, which was nice as it was a quiet side road, with an amazing Colombian café around the corner in a block away a lovely bakery with amazing coffee. Because it’s so close to Familia sagrada it has lots of cafés and services around, such as the barber opposite who was really good. Absolutely recommend this place to stay.
Anderson Ferreira★★☆☆☆
I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone, unfortunately. First of all, they an auto-check in system (there’s no body there to assist you, it doesn’t matter the time), which is a really good idea I agree, however, it’s not well operated. So everything regarding to our check in is done by using some QR codes that should be sent to us previously to our arrival, so we could get into the place by ourselves as the mean idea is I assume. There’s a contact number that I got from someone who luckily was leaving the place and helped me. Secondly, whether you have an allergy the place is full of mold smell, my sinusitis went very bad as they’re facing some issues with the showers, so there’s water everywhere, anyway I don’t recommend this place.
Tate Magee★★★★★
I would highly recommend this hostel! I was welcomed with open arms and the staff is so genuine. It’s about a 5 minute walk from the Sagrada Família and you have the option of multiple shops/restaurants nearby. They will help with recommendations for food/activities. The hostel is kept very clean and the bathrooms are in pristine condition. You will have a locker with a large amount of space. If I were to do it all over again I would chose Barcelona & You every time!
Jax Santiago★★★★★
I absolutely loved this hostel and the staff. it's been 6 years since I crashed in a hostel and this was the perfect place to do it again. it was a compact location but they used the space perfectly. this also meant there weren't any loud people keeping me up at night. i would definitely return to this hostel on my next trip to barcelona.
Karley Mendez★★★★☆
The beds are comfortable and the rooms are big. There is a nice kitchen and living room area. However, the bathrooms and showers are absolutely terrible. The shower is so narrow that the door basically closes on your face. The women’s bathroom is so insanely hot and humid because there is no ventilation. The female and young male at reception were helpful and friendly. There was an older man also working reception that was polite but had a weird, awkward and condescending personality. Honestly he made me uncomfortable so I avoided him. Other than that it’s a nice place to stay and very close to everything.

Great choice in the center of the city, easy access to the metro and just 10’ walking distance from the Sagrada Família. Is a perfect choice if you are planning to be outside the whole day, room super clean and renewed, the Irene is lovely with a beautiful smile.

It is a 10 min walk to Sagrada Familia and close to other iconic sites of the city. It is next to neighborhood where you have to things you need. It is comfortable place for 1 to 2 nights stay.

The room is as good as you’ll get for this money; clean and neat- great shower. Feels like very much on the edge of the tourist area. But a walk to the Sagrada Familia.getting in and out is a bit confusing for a novice traveler.

I needed to stay one night in Barcelona, and I’m surprised that this hotel has such a low rating. For 46 euros, I got a private room that was perfectly clean, with a personal shower and toilet, all the necessary amenities, and plenty of clean towels. Barcelona is not the cheapest city when it comes to hotels, and I think this was an excellent deal! Yes, i I’ve stayed in all kinds of hotels, and trust me, I know what a "luxury hotel" is. Of course, this is a very simple option, but I confidently give it a 5-star rating for the excellent balance of price, cleanliness, comfort, location, and the service from the staff.

Very good location for family, we found uber best mode of transport. Small area but we didn’t spend much time in accommodation

Excellent location. However, apartments themselves are very tiny. Can hear absolutely everything due to very thin walls. Not helped by having a group staying above us. Complained about the noise as kept us up until 5am but nothing done about it and carried on for the full 4 nights of our stay. Reception and service generally poor. Have to check in and out at the hotel so reporting anything a pain. Beds were hard and very small. WIFI was average. Apartment very close to metro and Sagrada Familia but trading off this to offer a sub par experience.

A good apartment. Very close to metro and bakeries, so location is great. The apartment is big with plenty of space. however the sink is very tiny, the beds are quite uncomfortable and the lift is small. Also there is only one mirror so it is difficult for a group of ladies to get ready. There are a lots of items like cutlery’s, iron, hair dryer given to us which was helpful. Overall, i think this apartment is good for the value of money.
adrian corpuz★★★★★
I really like the location of the hotel. It’s nearby to all the shops, restaurants, and all the tourist spots esp the Sagrada Familia church. The room is tidy and everyone is accommodating. I’d like to thank Cris and the other guy (who is usually in at night and dawn), great service from my check in time until I checked out. Really recommendable.
Marco Galasso★☆☆☆☆
It's a shame that I have to write this review, but the attitude of management really leaves no choice. We stayed at the apartment from 6 to 8 of April (I'm attaching proof because I already know the morally dishonest management will accuse this review to be fake). While it's true that the location is central and there is a nice view of the Sagrada Familia, our apartment had no hot water, just cold. Imagine spending 3 days as a tourist in a beautiful city like Barcelona, without being able to shower and clean yourself! Of course we contacted the management immediately to fix the issue, but all we received was lies. According to the management, a technician was supposed to come and resolve the warm water malfunction on the first day, but nobody came. Then they said they would come in the morning of the second day, but nobody came. Then they said it will be fixed on the last day, and obviously nobody came. Reading previous reviews, it appears clear that heating problems are common, so the management is either incapable of fixing the issue, or simply doesn't care at all. I don't know which option is worse. Adding to this, the email address that they provide you for eventual communications or complaints is of no use at all. Overall, if you are happy to only take freezing cold showers and you can bring your own toilet paper, than this place is ok. Otherwise stay away!! I'll conclude by signing off this review in the same style that the management uses to answer other unlucky customers, by wishing you a better life in the future, and excellent health going forward. Take care

Had a good experience. Service was good. Very clean, rooms and bathrooms! Did not use common areas or particpate in activities, but staff made me aware of good existing options they host. Could be better with curtains by the beds in the rooms, and with a couple more toilets, but was otherwise good.

Very awesome hostel program! I’ve never stayed in a hostel before and I’ve heard a lot of bad rumors but this place is awesome! Well taken care of, clean amenities, only issue was that the rooms didn’t have ac from what I could tell. Still, not too hot and the communal areas are clean, friendly, and a great place to make firmness! An overall amazing experience.

I had an amazing experience staying here. The hostel was very clean, calm, and comfortable, which made my stay really relaxing. The service was excellent, and the location was also very convenient. Nice hotel in a great location. Within walking distance to Metro and tram stations. And of course you are just a couple of blocks away from one of the most iconic cathedrals in the world. But not so near that you are in the midst of the crowds. If the weather is nice, i also recommend taking a leisurely stroll to Passeig de Gracia. Rooms are spacious and clean

Great value, good rooms and amazing location. Short walking distance to both Sagrada Familia and the nearest metro station. Walking towards Diagonal Avenue you can find good restaurants and coffee shops (would highly recommend Pepeta for a nice hearty dinner and Alfar for a morning coffee and croissant). Overall 10/10 stay and would definitely come back sometime in the future.

I was not a normal hotel guest, but rather someone whose phone was running out of battery rapidly. The front desk staff was so friendly and helpful in making sure I had a good spot to charge my phone so I could continue my sightseeing. This hotel is located in a great spot for my needs - I was able to find it without going too far from my luggage locker. For my next trip to Barcelona, I will definitely be staying here!

Stayed here with my two kids. I wasn’t familiar with the different neighborhoods when booking but I’m really happy with this location. It’s very centralized without the crowds of tourist walking by so it felt calmer. I like that it takes a keycard to get into the lobby from the front door and takes a keycard to get to your floor. As a mother traveling alone with my kids, this gave me a sense of security. Especially when all you read is how people get things stolen right at the lobby. They had a good breakfast spread but it’s the same thing every morning so you know what you’re getting. We drink a lot of water so I appreciate the water cooler right at the front and my girls enjoyed the different selections of flavored infused water. The front desk clerks were very professional and kind of just left us alone unless we needed something. We were on the 6 floor so we didn’t hear anything from our neighbors. It’s the end of March and early April so the nights were cool enough for us to open the window and enjoy the cold breeze. There is traffic and people noise but we are in the city so it’s to be expected. Also be aware that culturally they eat later and stay up later. It’s their normal, we are just visitors. Overall my girls and I had a very good experience. Totally recommend for families or parents traveling alone with kids.

Stayed one night only. Asked for and was given room 606 away from lifts and street noise, facing back side (see photo). Only issue was a humming noise from motor of heating system which I assumed was placed on back of hotel. Aside from this, room was quiet enough and with view of Sagrada Familia. Rooms are small (14 m2 including bathroom), OK for 1 person, cramped if 2 people. Staff attentive and helpful, provided extra pillows. Breakfast room is a bit small but at 07:15 was pretty empty.

Honestly a great experience. I got in early and they held my bags for me until check in. The room is small but great for just one person. Only four stars because i do wish the bathroom was a bit bigger. Hard to get in the shower or on the toilet. The location is very ideal! Staff was very helpful with my changing the reservation to stay longer.

Nice, clean, comfortable hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We got the breakfast option. I thought it was great. My wife wanted more daily variety but still enjoyed it. The hotel is midway between two metro stations and there is a bus station just around the corner. There are places to eat and shop within just a few minutes walk and a great brunch restaurant just across the street, which we used on our first day there before we checked in. I would definitely stay there again. Amazing water pressure in the shower, which was great.

The location of the hotel is superb it's less than 10 minutes walk to Sagrada Familiar, the farmers market which is excellent idea for food. The hotel is a bit older, but very well taken care of, rooms are a bit smaller size for the value of the money which was expected. The staff was amazing, cheerful and welcoming and extremely helpful all the time.. Thank you

Overall, a very nice stay in Barcelona. Staff were so kind and helpful, probably the best part of the stay. The rooms were a bit small for two people but we made it work. The walls are a bit thin so we kept hearing guests next to us and above us, so it was a bit intrusive when trying to sleep. Hotel was in a good location and had a market right next to it. Easy walk to many landmarks and restaurants. It’s also very easy to find.

The room was on the ground floor and the window overlooked a closed, uncovered space above. No direct sunlight, only light, and no air. Old furniture, old bathroom. We only had shampoo and soap on the first day. Then nothing. For 6 days we had no air conditioning in the room. From the beginning, they said that the problem would be solved in 2 days. 6 passed and nothing happened. With 30+ degrees outside, we were in a room without proper ventilation for 6 days. They brought us a fan and Coca-Cola and Fanta from the room's mini bar! We cooled off with these. And when after 4 days we complained about the air conditioning, the answer we got was: "I`m tired of this situation! "Grab your stuffs and find a better place to stay!" They also offered to "grab" our stuff themselves and put them away when we were out. The room was on the ground floor and the window overlooked a closed, uncovered space above. We stayed in a 3½-room apartment at Sensation Sagrada Familia (large enough for 3 people) for seven nights in July, and we loved it! Close to all amenities, the property is clean, secure (with digital key access), soundproofed, and features excellent air conditioning. We were able to cook or reheat meals and keep our food and drinks cool in the refrigerator. Despite the small elevator, the laundry facilities are very functional, the gym is reasonably sized, and the rooftop terrace—offering a wonderful view of the famous basilica—is beautifully laid out. The smiling staff provided impeccable service. We were right in the heart of the action and enjoyed a very relaxing vacation.

Absolutely perfect location with beautiful views from our room of Segrada Familia. The 2 bedroom apartment was well furnished and had plenty of space for our family of 5. Only small disappointment for wife was no storage draws only closets. Other then that rooms were clean, kitchen completely supplied(dishes, cups & utensils) and air conditioner keep apartment a comfortable temperature. When we arrived front desk was very friendly and courteous. We were able to store our luggage as we waited for apartment to be ready, we went out for coffee and front desk called us when room was ready - very nice gesture. Front desk was also extremely helpful in regards to surrounding area handling out a map with suggestions for restaurants and setting up cab services when we went out. Apartments have nice amenities- roof top terrace with lounge area, small pool and gorgeous views of Segrada Familia - full laundry area(washers/dryers) no charge- small gym with sauna and right around corner to metro station. Besides being steps away from Segrada Familia the Eixample neighborhood is wonderful for walking, exploring and is a very safe area. For the price of stay would highly recommend if traveling to Barcelona and our family would definitely return again.

The apartments were very clean and tidy and the staff were welcoming and friendly. Upon arrival everything was explained clearly, check in was at 3pm and check out was 11am. The apartment had 3 bedrooms and a very spacious dining lounge, separate kitchen, and 2 bathrooms. Utility room with washing machine and dryer. The view from the balcony wasn’t great but from the rooftop it was beautiful. The locality had great transport links and also a variety of shops, restaurants and cafe’s. I was worried about finding halal food but was pleasantly surprised about the number of restaurants that I did find especially Aladdins a Lebanese restaurant that did not disappoint.

I stayed in Sensation Apartment with my family in June of 2026. It was one of the worst experiences I had in my life. We stayed 5 nights. We were told that the apartment was going to be cleaned up once. We got a letter before the clean up that we should remove all of our personal belongings before the cleaning. I spent time to remove all my personal belongings. When we came to the apartment at the end of the cleaning day, I was shocked that the apartment was not cleaned up. I went to the receptionist and ask why it was not cleaned up and I was told that because we did not remove our personal belongings which was not true. This place is very expensive and you do not get any service, it is just an apartment with very high nightly fee. You have to remove your garbage to the front of the apartment, cross the main road and throw them. You also need to do your own cleaning because no cleaning service. I feel they never clean up the apartment during the stay, just excuse and skip the cleaning. So, no service with highly night fee. Also the bathroom smells so bed. If you made a reservation here, please cancel before it is too late. Or if you are looking for a place in Barcelona, you can find much better options especially with the money you would pay here.

This location was awesome! My husband and I with our three kids (two teens and a 10yo) stayed here. A/C was so nice to have and the apartment was spacious. Free laundry on-site, very close to metro station. The rooftop pool area was much smaller than I expected but still nice. The service was wonderful.

We had a fantastic stay here. The apartments are wonderful (super comfortable, clean, and nicely set up) and having the Sagrada Família right in front of you is absolutely breathtaking. On top of that, the front desk staff are incredible. They are so friendly, helpful, and went out of their way to make everything easy for us from day one. If you're looking for a special place to stay, this is definitely worth it!

I had a problem on the first day because the pin code for my room key when I checked in late was in a spam email, but the owner was kind and gave me a discount on the room rate and lunch at the affiliated restaurant on the first floor. Thank you for providing this free of charge. The view from the room and rooftop is perfect, and it is very convenient for sightseeing and shopping. The room layout is 2 bedrooms, comes with a bath, and has a living room with a view of Sagrada Familia right in front, making it a great value for money. There is no elevator, so we recommend checking in on time. Especially if you are on a high floor with a nice view, we will be happy to help you carry your heavy suitcases within the specified time.

The apartment has a great location, easy to reach, tidy, well equipped, and has an amazing view of the Sagrada Familie already from the living room. Then you go up to the rooftop terrace and the view of it is spectacular!!! We had some issues with the booking of the apartment, but Arthur, the owner sold it very professionally! So if you want to have a place with a gorgeous view, good location, friendly, helpful staff and for a fair price then I think you are at the right place.

Excellent location. Open the window and you see the Sagrada Familia sitting right there. An even more awesome view from the top of the building. We stayed here for three nights and everything from check in to check out was a breeze. The staff who met us was lovely and very very helpful with where to go and what to do. Convenience stores are aplenty around. Do note that there are no stairs. But the staff will gladly help you with luggage if you don't wish to lug it up.

This building has great view from apartments and rooftop. I stayed at 3. Floor and it had great Sagrada Familia view. Also rooftop has the best view in Barcelona. Unfortunately there is no elevator. If you request during reservation, they help with luggages. Owners are really nice people.

Tips for Choosing the Best Hotel Near Sagrada Família

Finding the right hotel in this district requires more than just looking at a map. The distance to the basilica is important, but so is the surrounding infrastructure, the orientation of your room, and the type of traveler you are. Here is what you need to know to make an informed decision before you book your stay in the Eixample.

Book a room with a view strategically.
If a direct view of the Sagrada Família is non-negotiable, book a "Premium" or "View" room explicitly. However, be prepared for street noise. Hotels like the Sercotel Rosellón are famous for their rooftop terraces, but ground-floor or lower-level rooms may face busy streets. If you are a light sleeper, request a high floor or an interior-facing room to mitigate the urban hum.

Prioritize metro access over absolute proximity.
Being 50 meters from the front door of the basilica is impressive, but being 400 meters away next to the L2/L5 metro station is often more practical. The metro connects you to Passeig de Gràcia, Park Güell, and the airport line within minutes. A hotel two blocks from the station can save you time and money compared to one right on the main plaza.

Check for rooftop amenities.
The Eixample is dense, and natural light can be limited on lower floors. Many modern hotels in this area have invested heavily in rooftop pools, bars, and sun decks. Even in the cooler months, a rooftop terrace offers a quiet escape from the city and often provides a unique angle of the basilica’s spires. Confirm if the pool is heated or seasonal if that matters to you.

Consider breakfast versus local cafés.
Hotel breakfasts in Barcelona can be expensive, often ranging from €15 to €25 per person. The Sagrada Família neighborhood is packed with excellent local bakeries (forns de pa) and cafés where you can get a coffee and a pastry for under €5. Unless the hotel offers a spectacular buffet or includes it in the rate, you may prefer to eat like a local on Avinguda de Gaudí.

Beware of "Sagrada Família" branding.
Some hotels use the name "Sagrada Família" loosely and are located a 20-minute walk away or require a metro ride. Always verify the exact street address on a map before booking. The true "Sagrada Família area" is bounded roughly by Carrer de Provença to the south, Carrer de Mallorca to the north, and the surrounding blocks of the Eixample Dreta. Being precise ensures you get the experience you are paying for.

The area around the Sagrada Família offers a rare opportunity to stay in a part of Barcelona that feels both monumental and lived-in. Unlike the tourist-heavy lanes of Las Ramblas, this district allows you to experience the rhythm of local life while keeping the city’s crown jewel in your peripheral vision. It is an ideal base for first-time visitors who want orientation and for returning travelers who want a different perspective on the city.

By choosing a hotel that matches your specific needs—whether that is a quiet courtyard room, a family suite, or a terrace bar with a view—you set the tone for your entire trip. Take your time, compare the options above, and look forward to waking up in the shadow of one of the world’s greatest architectural achievements.
