10 Best Breakfast and Brunch Near Sagrada Família

Finding a great place to eat before or after visiting Antoni Gaudí’s masterpiece can be tricky. The streets immediately surrounding the basilica are often filled with tourist traps offering overpriced paella and lackluster tapas. However, if you know where to walk, you can find incredible local spots that balance quality, atmosphere, and value.

The neighborhood of Eixample, which fans out from the Sagrada Família, is a residential area with a vibrant food scene. You do not need to travel far to escape the crowds and eat where the locals do. Whether you want a quick pastry and coffee or a long, leisurely weekend brunch, the area has something for every taste.

This guide focuses on variety. We have included traditional Spanish breakfast options, trendy brunch cafes with international menus, and places perfect for a hearty lunch. Every recommendation is within a comfortable walking distance of the basilica, making it easy to plan your visit.

We have prioritized quality and authenticity to ensure you have a memorable meal. From freshly squeezed orange juice to perfectly baked pastries and savory eggs, these spots represent the best of Barcelona’s morning cuisine. You will find options for vegetarians, families, and those looking for a quick bite.

The key to enjoying the area is to step a few blocks away from the main tourist thoroughfares. By doing so, you will discover quiet terraces and bustling local bakeries. Many of these spots are small, so arriving early or being prepared for a short wait is often part of the experience.

We have personally evaluated the atmosphere, service, and consistency of these locations. We also considered value for money, which is important in such a high-traffic tourist zone. You will find that the best meals are often the simplest, made with high-quality local ingredients.

Here are the top ten places to eat breakfast and brunch near the Sagrada Família, followed by some essential tips for eating out in this bustling district.

Had to wait for 10-15 mins to be seated as there was a queue (which is understandable) Had the iced cappuccino which was good. The chicken sandwich was good. What i absolutely didn't like was the chicken tacos It didn't taste good Portion size was small 3 small tacos for 13.50 euro is not worth it However the presentation was really good. Overall it was good but tacos need improvement.

Wonderful place, was so impressed we visited twice on our recent trip! The eggs carbonara, the latte, the carrot cake and Mango smoothies were delicious and on my second visit the American cheesecake pancakes were amazing, so fresh and delicious. My husband really enjoyed his pulled pork burrito too. Good price for excellent food, great service and a nice vibe. Can’t recommend this place enough
Emelie Lee★★★★★
This place is a gem. The food is amazing along with the service. The atmosphere was calm and the restaurant was cute. All the foods tasted great. Definitely check this place out. Highly recommend.

We were there 1hr before closing. The service staff still let us in. All the food was delicious.. the teens love every dish from the pics they took. Enjoying every bite into the local brunch near sagranda familia. I love especially the açaí bowl. The açaí just tastes a tiny bit different, thicker and creamier, a cooler to chill us from the scorching sun. We didn’t get the cake which we’d love too, but way too full. Thank you for having us.
Raja Haider Hussain★★★★★
The small cafe in the heart of city next to Sagrada Familia does total justice to the flavors of Gaudi-ish creation of food. Their cuisine and its presentation is not less than of an artist. Hardly have seen a casual cafe presenting its dishes with such finesse. Tasty, pretty, welcoming. Must try and highly recommended.

Loved all the food here and the service was amazing too. The smoothies aren’t strained so you drink with fibre which is really good. Loved the experience

Was probably the best breakfast I had while on holiday. Staff was attentive, food came quickly and was delicious, and had a nice seating area to relax and enjoy.
Alys Braz★★★★★
Beautiful little place, staff are so friendly and accommodating. The food is absolutely delicious (we had eggs benedict, it was unreal) and their smoothies are lovely. I would highly suggest a visit here when coming to see the sagarda familia.

Came here twice for breakfast during my stay in Barcelona. The food was fresh, tasty, and there were great healthier options to choose from. I really appreciated the early hours and that there are eggs on the menu! There are even gluten free items. Great option for early breakfast before hitting the sights like la Sagrada Familia. Indoor and outdoor seating. VERY clean and comfortable bathroom. Great prices. But best of all was the courteous service. Will recommend to other friends traveling to the area.

We stumbled upon MISS SIMONA 🤩 while looking for a breakfast spot that opens early near the Basilica de la Sagrada Familia. They have a variety of delectable food and drink options to choose from; and have plenty of tables to accommodate people. For food, we got the Poached egg casserole with Iberian ham & truffle, Spanish potato omelette, and Eggs Benedict. And for drinks, we got Banana, strawberry and oat milk smoothie, ice Baileys latte, and hot lattes. MISS SIMONA is a must visit is you’re in Barcelona! Overall, we had a great morning here—enjoyed our breakfast thoroughly.
Glenda Vega★★★★★
My husband and I had lunch at Miss Simona on Sunday, July 5, 2026 before our Sagrada Familia visit and we loved it. Such a quaint little treasure with great food and atmosphere. The service was the best part. Leo was incredible, sweet and attentive. Our food came and it was absolutely delicious. He was very pleasant and had conversations with his customers. He made everyone feel at home and even gave suggestions. I would highly recommend with my eyes closed because it was good quality food and great price, plus good location. There was also a woman, may have been the owner who was also very nice, great sense of humor. Best jamon iberico sandwich EVER

This cute establishment is a real catch if you want to eat a good healthy filling breakfast. You have multiple options for sweet and savory. Our waitress Lola was super friendly. She shows real interest in the guests. Asking where we are from, so enthusiastic. Would recommend!

Well, another great spot. Great service, relaxed, familiar and so delicious. Creative dishes that make you pause to enjoy. The pancakes are sooooo fluffy, moist, and aromatic. Coffee is tasty and the juices not too sweet. Definitely a spot to return to again and again.

We had a great breakfast at Brunch Out with our family. The food was fresh, flavorful, and came out quickly. Everyone found something they enjoyed, including our two kids, which is always a plus. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable. If you’re looking for a solid breakfast spot with good service, Brunch Out is definitely worth a visit.

Best brunch place so far in Barcelona! It was on walking distance from our hotel so that was perfect. I’ve had their brunch with oat milk coffee and it was SO good!! 10000/10 their food and sides are amazing. Definitely wil be visiting again with my next visit in Barcelona! The sides were also very yummy. Portions are quite big so be careful with that, we had a little bit of trouble finishing our plates🤣
Mandy Milne★★★★★
Delicious food and cozy vibe before we left for the airport. I had a matcha latte and salmon toast and my husband had eggs Benedict with their freshly squeezed orange juice just as nature intended! Food came quickly and the quality was good with nice size portions. Well recommended!

This place is PHENOMENAL!!! If you’re looking for delicious gluten free food, do not miss this place!! Everything we ate was absolutely delicious!! 😍 Our server, Erica, was attentive and incredible!! Even our non-gluten free friends loved it!!
Madison Schultz★★★★★
I ordered the vanilla latte and the smashed avocado egg toast and everything was fantastic! The servers were kind and attentive and I appreciated how fresh and healthy my meal was. As a gluten free gal who has tasted a lot of attempts at gf bread - the gf sourdough was very good!
Rachael Schofield★★★★★
We chose Bloom by Sasha because my American friend is gluten intolerant, and it was wonderful to find somewhere with such a good gluten-free menu so close to the Sagrada Família. The smashed avocado toast was absolutely delicious – fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavour. It was definitely the highlight of our visit and something I'd happily order again. My friend chose the chocolate pancakes, and although they looked lovely, they were a little disappointing. The edges were quite hard, which affected the overall texture and enjoyment. As someone who is gluten intolerant, it's always exciting to find pancakes on the menu, so it was a shame they didn't quite live up to expectations. Overall, the atmosphere was lovely, Alan was friendly and welcoming, and the location couldn't be better if you're visiting the Sagrada Família. We'd certainly return for the savoury dishes and hope the pancakes can be improved in the future.
Syl★★★★★
Delicious food and fresh drinks! From the dishes to the specialty coffee, it all looks tempting and healthy. The terrasse is also a great quiet spot to enjoy your brunch. We were 2 and were able to get a table on the terrasse without waiting, on a Sunday morning.
Thijs★★★★★
Had a blast eating here! The food was so pure and made with love. The ratio between the price - quality was also pretty good. The employees were really kind and helpful. I asked a lot of questions about the food and how they’d made them. They tried to answer every question with the same energy and enthusiasm. 5 ⭐️!

Great brunch spot. The bottomless brunch with unlimited cava is a highlight and definitely worth it. Portion sizes are generous, the food is tasty, and the overall vibe is relaxed and cozy. Service was friendly and efficient, and the atmosphere makes it a really nice place to spend a long brunch. Highly recommended if you want a fun, satisfying brunch in Barcelona. What a great restaurant. Lets get started with the service, from all the places I went in Barcelona I was never treated this nicely, the server was so kind and friendly, gave us so many good places to visit that are not the classic touristy places. The food was amazing. I ordered the bikini truffle and was to die for. And the ambience incredible so aesthetic and full of light. Love the whole dog friendly vibe and family atmosphere. Amazing place!
Marissa Bisbe★★★★★
Went here after touring the La Segrada Familia. Was seated immediately. We had the breakfast Americano and the eggs Benedict. The food was hot and amazing. The fresh focaccia was outstanding. The poached eggs amazing. Quick service and friendly. Popular place. Highly recommend!

Very warm welcome as soon as you enter, lovely atmosphere with soft music in the background. Lots of yummy options on the menu, I got the yogurt bowl and was very pleasantly surprised with the amount of fruit and the carefulness that was put into making it! He also gave us water without us having to ask for it. Would come again and recommend to anyone. 10/10

This was a perfect place to have breakfast. Our food was so fresh and delicious and the ambiance is perfect. A beautiful quiet street and relaxed atmosphere. The espresso was incredible and we loved the toast with egg, tomato, arugula and jamon iberico. The staff is very friendly as this is a beautiful family owned place.
Zoe Crowther★★★★★
Manifest Inspiring Brunch felt less like a trendy cafe and more like my new favorite Barcelona living room. Sitting in the trendy relaxed cafe, I completely fell for their beautifully presented, massive vegan breakfast and perfectly spiced hot chai latte. The staff treated me like family from the first hello, making it the perfect cozy escape right near the Sagrada Família.
Laetitia Schramm★★★★★
We took the vegan breakfast and the burrata and mushrooms toast. It would have been well enough but we added some pancakes as our dessert. The food was great, homemade, fresh and tasty. The waiters were all kind, smiling, great vibes and the music was really cool. We recommend
Anamaria Boghean★★★★★
We loved the place, for the super tasty food and the nice staff. The food is delicious, made with fresh ingredients. Plus, their signature cake - the mole cake - was a very nice surprise. The boy that served us and the owner are very kind and funny too.
Vlad Ghita★★★★★
Had a fantastic brunch here! The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The avocado toast and pancakes were especially delicious, and the coffee was spot on. The atmosphere was relaxed and stylish, perfect for a weekend catch-up with friends. Staff were welcoming, attentive, and made us feel right at home. Definitely one of the best brunch spots I’ve visited — can’t wait to come back!

Lovely food, and nice staff. The vibe outside was cozy, though I think the vibe of sitting inside would make a difference for my rating, since you sit close to the road outside. We would recommend booking a table if you plan to come. We came in on a Sunday for brunch, and everything was fully booked, but still got to sit outside. Even though they were really busy, the staff was nice and reassuring. Be aware that it is a 10% fee for sitting outside. They have good food, okay coffee (esthetically i was really pretty though it didn't taste of that much), and really sweet staff. So we would recommend going to this place if you are nearby.
Louisa Ess★★★★★
Such a cute little café! I loved the handmade designs on the drinks—they were so pretty and made everything feel extra special. The breakfast was really filling too. The staff were lovely, and the whole place had a really relaxed, welcoming vibe. Definitely worth a visit, and I’ll be coming back!
Patrick Guinan★★★★★
You just have to visit this Brunch spot if your visiting Barcelona. Everything about this place was perfect..Despite not having a reservation we were warmly welcomed with the previso that we only had one hour which was not a problem for us and we soon realised why we only had one hour. International Women's Day was being celebrated and the staff were very kind in looking after my wife with an appropriately decorated cappuccino. Service was as good as I have come across and the food was top drawer. Really tasty and so well presented, I just wish I lived a little closer as I would definitely be a regular here..5 stars well justified.
lina mack★★★★☆
The food was super yummy and decorative. The drinks were delicious, we all got smoothies which came out so cute and decorative. My friend ordered a latte and it was the cutest thing ever. However, my friend is vegan and ordered the vegan burger which ended up not being vegan at all. She was not happy with the vegan food options and for that reason I knocked off a star but we loved our food.
Lesly Galvez★★★★★
This was a beautiful place to enjoy with family and on top of the food was delicious. My coffee was so cute. The pope is in town, Jessica made me a cute specialty latte. Places you highly recommend, especially if you're coming in with friends or your girlfriends..

Tips for Breakfast and Brunch Near Sagrada Família
Understanding the local dining culture will significantly improve your experience. Spanish breakfast habits differ from those in other parts of Europe or North America, and the area around the monument operates on a specific rhythm. Here are some practical tips to help you eat like a local and avoid common pitfalls.

First, remember that traditional Spanish breakfast is often light and sweet. Locals typically start with a café con leche and a pastry, like a croissant or a slice of tomato-rubbed bread. Second, brunch as an international concept usually starts later, often around 10:00 AM, and many specialized brunch kitchens do not open until 9:00 AM or 9:30 AM. If you are an early riser, look for traditional bakeries or "granjas" (milk bars) that open earlier.

Third, be cautious of restaurants with large photo menus and staff standing outside trying to pull you in. These are almost always geared toward tourists and rarely offer the best quality for the price. Walk a few blocks down Avinguda de Gaudí or into the side streets of Eixample to find more authentic options.

Fourth, if you want a table at the most popular brunch spots on weekends, you should arrive before 10:30 AM. After that, queues can stretch down the block, especially during peak tourist season. Finally, do not be afraid to ask for the "menú del día" if you are eating later in the morning; many kitchens switch to lunch service around 1:00 PM, offering great value.

Exploring the culinary landscape around this iconic landmark is a rewarding part of your visit to Barcelona. By venturing just a few steps off the main path, you can trade the noise of the crowds for the clinking of coffee cups and the aroma of fresh baked goods.

Whether you choose a quick bite or a lavish spread, taking the time to enjoy a proper meal will fuel you for the day ahead. The neighborhood surrounding the basilica is alive with flavor, and these local favorites offer the perfect way to start your morning.
