Benidorm’s reputation often precedes it. Mention the name and most people picture towering skyscrapers, crowded beaches, and bustling nightlife. While that image is certainly part of the city’s unique charm, it only tells half the story. Behind the main strip lies a surprisingly nuanced and vibrant coffee culture waiting to be discovered.
In recent years, the city has seen a shift away from purely functional tourism toward quality-driven experiences. This evolution is perfectly reflected in its café scene. You no longer have to settle for a bitter espresso at a sun-scorched plastic table if you know where to look.
The demand for specialty beans, alternative milks, and aesthetically pleasing interiors has arrived on the Costa Blanca. From hidden patios in the Old Town to minimalist roasteries near the Levante beach, there is a space for every type of coffee lover. Whether you need a quiet spot to work remotely or a sunny terrace to people-watch, Benidorm delivers.
We have spent considerable time exploring the narrow cobblestone streets and the wider beachfront avenues to find the spots that prioritize quality. This list focuses on places that offer excellent coffee, welcoming atmospheres, and a genuine connection to the local community. We have skipped the generic chains to highlight independent businesses that bring character to the city.
The following guide is designed to help you navigate the best that Benidorm has to offer. We have considered factors such as bean origin, barista skill, food quality, and overall ambiance. You will find options ranging from robust Spanish café con leche to delicate single-origin pour-overs.
Use this guide to escape the midday heat, fuel up before exploring the Old Town, or simply enjoy a moment of calm. These are the spaces where locals and savvy travelers intersect, proving that Benidorm is more than just a beach destination. Here are the top spots you should not miss on your next visit.

Cold in here for a quick coffee and light bite.
The staff were very friendly and the coffee was beautiful. Allbe it a very small cup.
It wasn't overpriced and a free biscuit came with a coffee. Food very good too
Will return the next time in in Benidorm

On my own, early morning, coffee and eggs benedict, very good food, service girls were very polite and nice, told the rest of group about this place, they all went later that day, very good
Elinore Gilmour★★★★★
Went here several times while in Benidorm. A lovely cafe/bar, frequented more by locals. Good atmosphere reasonably priced and very friendly service. Drinks and cocktails all served beautifully with a little tapas.
Zaheda K★★★★☆
Nice spot we found for good coffee and lunch. Visited twice first time round service was great, second time round we had to wait a while before being acknowledged.
Other than that the food is great.
Camilla Yoshikai★☆☆☆☆
The service is terrible. I went three times, and each time I had to wait over 20 minutes and practically beg to be served. On the third visit, after waiting 30 minutes, I gave up and left. Other people around me were clearly feeling frustrated as well. It’s a shame, because the place is very nice and has great potential to be a lovely café.

Honestly, bang for the buck, a cheap meal and a fair product. Service is spectacular and super warming. Went here with a bit of a hangover (hehe) but even then it felt super good being here.
Staff was awesome, the lady serving us was a gem and the guys in the bar/ kitchen were super talkative, refreshing and inviting, nothing to complain about!
We had the English breakfast which was solid.
Would come back!

I've been coming to Caspers for a few years, they never disappoint. Their food, service and atmosphere is always on point and I cannot fault them. Incredible breakfast and delicious burgers.

A great find. Great food, great value and friendly staff. We stopped in for breakfast on our first morning and made it a regular morning routine. It was clear that many did the same as we saw the same friendly faces each morning.
I started with a small breakfast on day one and by day three had advanced to the large, with black pudding and mushroom ( if you haven't tried Spanish Black Pudding yet, I really reccomend it).
We stopped in for tea one evening too. I had one of the Award winning home-made burgers which as absolutely delicious and mum says her Chilli con Carne was one of the best she has eaten.
They have a happy hour too!

This is a nice small pub that served food, I went here as it had good reviews.
I arrived here as a hungry solo traveller and was made to feel welcome! I ordered a steak pie with chips and gravy (needed some home comfort foods), and a couple of beers. There is a choice of dishes on the menu from salads to British favourites. The food was freshly cooked and delicious. The bar itself looks typically Spanish, small intimate but has two outside terraces at either side of the property.
I think it is a place that only takes cash as payment, so bare this in mind if you plan to visit here.
I found it to be very good value for money. The lady who served me (didn't catch her name unfortunately) was very friendly and welcoming and gave me advice with navigating the local vicinity and which transport options I should use as I wasn't too familiar with it.
Would I visit again? Definitely, it is a hidden (but well known) gem serving good food with good company. If I'm back in Benidorm this would be one of my top options for food or just to relax and watch the nearby bustling streets.

GLUTEN FREE FRIENDLY and omg how amazing! We came last year and im sorry we didn't leave a review but we were blown away with how lovely and friendly this place is! Compact but you will not find a better Full English breakfast than this in Benidorm! And they can offer gluten free too! which for us is paramount! Not only this but we visited today for the famous breakfast well brunch really, they have air-conditioning which I forgot! Perfect in this heat wave! Love it here! 🥰

I’ve been a few different times at this location and definitely won’t come back here again. Their other location on Benidorm is very good, but not this one. The girl working here looks sad making you feel you like you shouldn’t be here. The croissants don’t look like as good as the other location, the display items look as they are from the previous day.
Alexandru Nechifor★★★★☆
We had avocado toast with salmon and it was really good, but the portion is quite small, so if you're hungry take desert as well.
The apple pie is really tasty. I liked it even more than the toast. ♥️
Nice coffee, good atmosfere. There a few places outside, but it gets crowded quickly.
Overall, it was good and prices are ok.
Диана Б★☆☆☆☆
I ordered Eggs Benedict, and this is what I received. The dish looked nothing like a proper Eggs Benedict. It came with what seemed to be stale bread, some kind of glaze, an unclear type of cheese, and a few small pieces of bacon. This is not how Eggs Benedict should be served.
To make matters worse, they forgot to include the Hollandaise sauce, which is one of the key components of the dish. Only after I pointed it out did they bring me a regular cheese sauce instead of Hollandaise. They did not inform me about this substitution beforehand and still charged me full price.
The level of service was extremely poor and unprofessional. I am very disappointed with my experience and would strongly not recommend this place.

Modern little coffee shop with a strong flavoured beans in the coffee. We were down the sea front and we fancied a coffee and cake. A quick search on Google suggested this place so we headed there. It's a very modern looking coffee shop and the staff are smartly dressed and polite. We looked at the menu and they do a wide variety of drinks and light bites, so we ordered a latte and a decaf latte, but we were informed that the cakes aren't ready untill 2pm, but we did manage to order a cinnamon roll each. The coffee was hot and the blend was very strong and flavourful, and very well presented with a pattern on top. The cinnamon roll was freshly baked still warm with a gooey glaze on top. It was soft and lightly spiced with cinnamon which wasn't too overpowering. The staff were polite and spoke English well and the tables were clean and spaced out with room too move. It's was quiet enough to talk and sit and watch the world go buy. Next time I'll pop back after 2pm to try the selection of cakes they have on offer.

Was in benidorm for a month, and came here near enough every day. Competitive prices, tasty coffee and great seating. Easy to work from.
Particularly enjoyed the Americano, matcha, iced vanilla latte and croissants. Would recommend an extra shot with your iced drinks.
They're slow to tidy and clean tables once people leave, but not slow enough to degrade the experience below a 5 star. Would recommend to everyone.

Tried matcha latte with almond milk. Costs 5.30, more on the expensive side. There are high tables and chairs indoor, quite tight. You could also sit outside but it was very hot and humid.

An excellent entertainment venue, competitive with Philippines 10. Comfortable with good views. On average the seating was closer to the stage than in Philippines 10. Good quality acts - the Drifters were especially good. Happy hour applied even after 9,so I found myself being presented with 2 pints, a nice surprise. The atmosphere was heightened by a group from a building firm in Chesterfield there to celebrate the lady boss's 60th.

Unpleasant breakfast experience. Waited 30+ minutes for food after drinks are served. Wrong order, reserving but the cheese in panini is cold. Feels like they serve local faster than tourist. Frap coffee is good but would not come back again
SBrooks4★★★☆☆
Very pleasant here, certainly great place for a cheeky cocktail. Mother had the blue hawaii and I had the sin free San Francisco, both very nice. Food however is where this one fails.
We ordered the chicken panini and ham cheese and egg toastie, and though taste was ok was nothing to write home about. The bread and baguettes themselves..well apparently they don't know what the word 'toastie' means, more bread than toast and same with Panini regrettably. I've had toasties and paninis at home more toasted than that.
As for service, whilst the sole male waiter was very friendly and charismatic, it was only him serving over 20 or so tables full of customers..taking orders, making drinks, serving food, giving bills and taking payments, even cleaning tables too.. I'm sure you can imagine! all I can say is that I hope they pay him well..

For anyone who truly appreciates the art of coffee, this place is a revelation. It is clear from the first sip that they truly understand the craft. They source some of the best beans I’ve encountered, and their drip coffee selection is impressive. Whether you are looking for specific origins or unique processing methods, the variety and depth of flavor here are guaranteed. Every cup is brewed with precision, highlighting the complex notes that only high-quality specialty coffee can offer. If you have a refined palate and are tired of the "standard" brew, this is a 100% recommended destination. An absolute must-visit for coffee connoisseurs!

First time here. Booked through The Fork app, so got an automatic discount. Food was delicious and plentiful. Service was ok, drink came quickly and so did food once we'd ordered, but there was no sign of anyone to ask to take the order for a good ten minutes. However, that's just being picky as the food was great. I would go again.

Excellent service from all staff here, very friendly, polite, and helpful. Venue is a great place to sit, nice atmosphere and very reasonable pricing. Cocktails are delicious, the Majo Moscow Mule was my personal favourite. Penty of other drinks to choose from too. Food is excellent, the wok fried rice dishes are cooked to order and are full of flavour. The brava sauce is amazing too. Highly recommend if you are looking for Vegan options, they have some great choices on the menu and can tweak some dishes if you ask. The chef was very accommodating. 5-star, eaten there twice already and it's only our 3rd day in Benidorm.

Our absolute favourite place for an outside breakfast with a view of the beach and people watching. All the staff who served us over the 3/4 times we visited were amazing, friendly and helpful too. Tips for Enjoying Benidorm’s Café Culture
Navigating the coffee scene in a city known for mass tourism can be tricky if you are unprepared. To ensure you have the best possible experience, it helps to understand the local rhythms and customs. The following tips will help you blend in, save money, and discover the hidden gems that make this city’s café culture so special.
1. Know the Difference Between the Old Town and the Strip
The area around Levante Beach is geared toward fast service and British breakfasts, while the Old Town (Casco Antiguo) is where you will find more authentic Spanish cafés and artisan roasters. If you want specialty coffee, head uphill away from the beach. The walk is short but the difference in quality is substantial.
2. Time Your Visit Wisely
Spaniards generally drink coffee after breakfast (around 11:00 AM) and again after lunch (around 4:00 PM). If you want a lively, authentic atmosphere, aim for these hours. If you need a quiet space to work or read, avoid the rush and visit mid-morning or early evening when the crowds are at the beach.
3. Look for "Tostado Natural"
Many commercial Spanish cafés use heavily roasted beans (tostado torrefacto) which are coated in sugar during the roasting process to mask defects. The best specialty cafés in Benidorm advertise "100% Arabica" or "Tostado Natural." Asking for this ensures you get a cleaner, higher-quality cup.
4. Don’t Skip the Food
While the coffee is the star, the best cafés in Benidorm often excel at homemade cakes, tostadas, and brunch items. Many of these spots bake their goods in-house daily. Pairing your flat white with a slice of carrot cake or a fresh tomato toast elevates the entire experience.
5. Embrace the Terrace Culture
Benidorm enjoys over 300 days of sunshine a year. Even in the winter months, sitting outside is often possible. Many of the best cafés feature hidden interior patios or rooftop terraces that are not visible from the street. If the front looks full, always ask if there is a terrace out back before leaving.
The beauty of Benidorm’s café scene lies in its contrast. You can start your morning with a meticulously brewed specialty coffee in a minimalist space, then end your afternoon with a traditional café bombón on a sun-drenched plaza. This diversity is what makes the city an underrated destination for coffee tourism.
Whether you are visiting for a week or a month, taking the time to explore these independent cafés will give you a deeper appreciation for the city. It is in these quiet moments, holding a warm cup and watching the world go by, that you truly understand the rhythm of life on the Costa Blanca.
