Finding a comfortable place to stay in Paris does not have to drain your travel budget before you even step foot in a museum. The area surrounding the Panthéon, nestled in the historic Latin Quarter, offers a unique blend of intellectual history, classical architecture, and vibrant student life. While this district is home to some of the city’s most prestigious institutions, it also harbors a surprising number of affordable accommodations that offer excellent value.
Staying near the Panthéon places you in the beating heart of the Left Bank. You are within a short stroll of the Luxembourg Gardens, the bustling markets of Rue Mouffetard, and the banks of the Seine. This central location saves you both time and money on public transportation, as many of the city’s iconic landmarks are easily reachable on foot from your front door.
Budget-friendly in Paris often means compact, but it rarely means compromising on character. The hotels in this area are frequently housed in historic Haussmannian buildings or charming converted townhouses, offering a distinctly Parisian atmosphere. Instead of sterile, expensive chain hotels, you are more likely to find family-run establishments with unique décor, winding staircases, and a warm, personalized welcome.
Travelers on a budget must often balance cost with comfort, and this neighborhood excels at providing practical amenities without the five-star price tag. Many of these value-driven hotels include free Wi-Fi, daily housekeeping, and continental breakfast options that help you start your day without hunting for an expensive café. Some even offer rooms with views of the Panthéon’s iconic dome.
The location is particularly advantageous for students, academics, and history enthusiasts. Being based here allows you to explore the Sorbonne University, the Sainte-Geneviève Library, and the Panthéon itself without rushing. You can return to your hotel for a midday rest or to drop off shopping bags, making your itinerary far more relaxed and efficient.
Choosing a budget hotel in this district also grants you access to an authentic slice of Parisian life. You will be dining alongside locals in small bistros, browsing for books in specialty shops, and navigating the narrow, winding streets that have inspired writers and artists for centuries. It is an immersive experience that feels a world away from the tourist-heavy areas around the Champs-Élysées.
To help you plan your visit without overspending, we have curated a list of the best value-for-money stays in this prestigious neighborhood. These selections prioritize cleanliness, location, and guest satisfaction, ensuring that your money goes toward making memories rather than just a place to sleep.

If you are from the US and know the travelodge or motel6 brand, this hotel is similar. The rooms are not sanitary. We got two rooms, one on Floor 6 and one on Floor7. There were ants in the room on Floor7. We told the front desk about it and they said they would clean it up and there were ants still everyday. So we couldn’t bring any food or drinks up to our room in case we’d get infested. On Floor6, the carpet hadn’t been vacuumed since the last person as there were toe nail clippings all over the carpet. There were mold issues in the rooms. My husband got hives from sleeping on the bed, unsure if that’s from bed bugs but possibly. Why stay here? If you are on a budget, need to get multiple rooms (we had 3) and staying for many days, then this makes sense. There was no hot water for showers the entire time. So hopefully you go in a heatwave. Some decent things- it’s safe, friendly staff, nice to get the breakfast included, close to many restaurants and sites, air conditioning was great, view of Eiffel Tower from the room. I recommend getting the deluxe suite, it was a decent size.

Don't let the 2 stars freighten you. This hotel is soo good. After a very inconvenient experience at the Ibis budget hotel, me and my friend had to find an immediate solution and book a new hotel. The only one within our price range and good accessibility was this one and let me tell you, we should have booked it first. We had to book it the same day of arrival so you can guess how stressful it all was, but as soon as we arrived in this hotel we were greeted by the amazing and nice guy at the reception. We loved every single detail especially since it brought us back in time with the beautiful elevator. The room(bathroom as well) and halls are small, but it's Paris so it's part of the experience. Everything was clean and new, the view was amazing, there was hot water, good Wi-Fi and the best part was the amazing location. Notre Dame is 10 minutes away on foot, there are many local restaurants and cafés nearby, markets open late in the night and many cute bookstores. If you want the best stay in Paris, then this is for you. When I come back in Paris again, this will be my choice 100%.😊

Affordable hotel in a fantastic location with everything you might need within walking distance on a safe and quiet street. The breakfast was surprisingly good with plenty of options and all the staff we encountered were very friendly and could communicate in English. Clean room, hot water and working AC. The room even had a French balcony with views of the Eiffel Tower in the distance which was a very nice surprise. Only complaint is that the room was very small, especially the bed which barely fit two people. Would definitely recommend this hotel if you’re looking for an affordable option in the 6th!

I recently stayed at this hotel for 4 nights, I loved the vintage vibe and what is great about it, is the location, you have everything near, and if not, you’re very close to the metro lines that take you directly to the wished places. Although it was a nice stay, in the last day I noticed a good amount of ants on the floor (mind you the floor is fully covered with a carpet), and that was not very nice, thankfully I didn’t notice on the first day otherwise I would go insane. Other then that everything else was nice, just inspect your room right from the start. The staff would clean the room everyday - not sure if they thoroughly cleaned it but we would always find everything nicely folded.

It's exactly what it says it is - A two star hotel. It's in a five star location however. The rooms are tired, clean, but the layout is funky. We had the double room but it requires climbing over my husband to get up from the bed. Forget about watching tv if you don't speak French, and you bump your head into it often. Every staff member we interacted with was fantastic. There is a tiny elevator but we are used to that in Spain so no big deal. We spent five nights, and for what we paid, I expected more, even if it's Paris.

We had a great stay at Hôtel Quartier Latin. The hotel was clean and well maintained which made us feel comfortable from the moment we arrived. The location is excellent and very central making it easy to explore Paris.
Getting around was simple because both Uber and public transportation were easily accessible. We were able to reach all the major attractions quickly and without any problems.
The staff were incredibly kind, welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. They were always happy to answer questions and made us feel well looked after.
Overall we would definitely recommend Hôtel Quartier Latin to anyone looking for a clean hotel with a fantastic location and excellent service.

We stayed one night at Hotel Quartier Latin in Paris and had a very pleasant experience. The hotel itself was clean, comfortable, and functional, with everything we needed for a short stay.
However, the real Star of the show was Paul. His service elevated our stay from good to truly memorable. From the moment we arrived, he was warm, charismatic, and genuinely interested in helping us make the most of our time in Paris.
What impressed us most was how personalised his advice was. Rather than giving generic tourist recommendations, he took the time to understand our music tastes and suggested places to visit for the Fête de la Musique that matched our preferences perfectly. He also provided detailed guidance on travel routes, timings, and how to navigate the city efficiently, which made our plans much easier.
Paul's enthusiasm, local knowledge, and exceptional hospitality made us feel genuinely welcomed. Staff like him are rare and can make all the difference to a guest's experience. Thank you, Paul, for making our visit so special. We would happily stay here again.

This hotel had friendly staff, the rooms were clean and had everything we needed, and the location was good (close to notre dame and metro). The only complaint was I wish they provided a few more towels. Would recommend and go back!

Extremely Disappointing — Would Not Recommend
Horrible experience. The room we were given was dirty, neglected, and nothing like the photos online. The front desk employee was unpleasant and at times outright rude.
We booked this hotel based on many positive reviews, but our room was filthy, with multiple holes in the walls, bathroom tiles that were broken and falling off, and several other general maintenance issues. The issue was not the age of the building or the size of the room — we fully understand what to expect in Europe. The problem was the lack of basic cleanliness and upkeep.
We raised our concerns with the front desk. She told us to wait in the room while she looked into options. After about half an hour, she called to say that although other rooms were available, they would not be offering us a different one as they are all the same. She dismissed our concerns by saying “it’s Europe,” which had nothing to do with the issues we reported.
Even though we had paid for multiple nights, we left immediately and booked another hotel at our own expense. It was the only reasonable option given the condition of the room.
The location is good, but that doesn’t make up for the inability to sleep comfortably or stay in a clean, maintained space. Based on our experience, I would not recommend booking this hotel.

We only stayed one night to prepare for our flight back to NY. Hotel was okay for a shorter stay. No dresser in room and room was a bit small. Front desk staff was very pleasant and helpful.

A very attractive hotel in a great location next to the Latin Quarter. The rooms are small and quite warm (mostly due to the heatwave though), and the showers and bathroom are shared - however are kept very clean.
You have to leave your keys at reception each time you leave the hotel. My main issue was with the security of this. Each time we would go back and ask for our room number, and no one would check whether we were actually staying in that room. I found this very unsafe given that there was a different person on reception each time we came back, and anyone could just come and ask for our key. I believe this should be improved.
Otherwise definitely great value for money and the reception staff were very lovely.
Paul Kostival★☆☆☆☆
Of the hundreds of hotels that I have stayed at in my lifetime, this is the second worst experience that I’ve encountered. The man at the reception desk was incredibly rude and my room did not make me feel comfortable. I highly dissuade anyone from booking and staying at this establishment.

Everything was great. The renovation in the shower, toilet and bathroom is perfect. Everything looks beautiful and romantic. The staff fulfilled all my requests. They gave us a vase for flowers, let us leave our things until the evening on the last day free of charge, and heated up our food. I give it 5 stars.

Pros: Friendly, 24/7 staff, excellent location, comfortable bed, cleanliness, and spacious rooms. Easy check-in and check-out, shops, restaurants, and public transportation nearby.
Cons: Very thin walls, so all kinds of noise from the neighbors come through very easily. It's impossible to sleep without earplugs. The breakfast is made of good quality ingredients, but there are only sweet dishes and only a few types of them.

We had a very pleasant stay at Port-Royal-Hôtel. The rooms are nice and cozy, we had a room with a washbasin and the shared showers were always very clean and nice. housekeeping was handy and a nice touch as well, and staff were always friendly and pleasant. The most outstanding feature was the hotel’s superb location in the 5th arrondissement, with a metro station just across the road, and the wonderful market strip of rue Mouffetard just 5 minutes away. I would definitely recommend staying here for a budget friendly Paris getaway, and will be returning in the future!

Great location and reasonable price of this place helped me to make a choice. Hotel is located in the Latin quarter, safe place, and is literally within a 10-minute walking distance of Notre dame de Paris and Pantheon. Close to Shakespeare books store, Luxembourg garden. It is surrounded by the restaurants, boutiques and bakeries. Everything is in walking distance, including metro station, 7 and 10. Staff was friendly, except one man at checkout. Breakfast cost extra, but we didn't need it, so many options outside. Room was on the 6th floor with a view towards Notre dame de Paris. Elevator can only fit two people, but worked perfectly. Room was clean, very small, bathroom was very narrow and tiny, but there was a working ac unit, which was a huge plus in the middle of the summer and heat. If I would stay here again, I would. We stayed 2 nights in July and prices were bit higher.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 2 nights in June. We were delighted that we had a room on the 6th floor facing Notre-Dame Cathedral. Pros: easy access to the subway, and walking distance to tourist destinations, the air conditioner was good but didn’t get as cold as we would have liked, beds were comfy. Cons: the bathroom was very small (if you are a tall person you may have a hard time using the toilet and shower). When we checked-in we were sleep deprived and jet lagged and would have appreciated if the front desk staff could have been more welcoming and patient. Overall we would stay here again.

Great location. We got the room at the top floor and the views were amazing. You can even see Notre Dame on a clear day. The beds were fine, the bathroom was perfect. The room was cozy. There was a little visitor on our balcony but we didn't mind him.

The location is perfect, easy walk to several favorite locations in Paris and close to the train.
Rooms are small but fine for a few days. The bathroom in our room was tight had to turn sideways to get past the sink and wall to get to the toilet. The rooms have different setups so not all like this.
Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Our family of four arrived in Paris from Rome and were very pleased with our stay at Les Patios du Marais. The apartment was exactly as described and pictured, making it easy to settle in after our travels.
The location was outstanding and one of the highlights of our stay. We were able to explore much of Paris on foot, and when needed, both the Metro and taxis were conveniently close by.
We also appreciated the thoughtfulness of our host during the extreme heat wave. Two fans had been set up and were already running when we arrived, making the apartment as comfortable as possible under the circumstances. While the unusually high temperatures meant we didn’t spend much downtime inside the apartment, we enjoyed relaxing in the charming outdoor courtyard and covered hallways, where the café tables and chairs provided a pleasant, cooler place to unwind after a day of sightseeing.
Overall, this was an excellent home base for exploring Paris. Between the convenient location, comfortable accommodations, and attentive host, we would happily stay here again and recommend Les Patios du Marais to other travelers.

Great Location if you have a short amount of time to visit Paris! The rooms are also very clean, well maintained, and well decorated. If you are planning to book make sure that you have no problems with stairs, ours was on the 4th floor and they are very steep. We had no problems with them but other people might.
The only problem I had was the service. There was a heatwave the days we were here and all I asked for was one more fan, not even for them to fix the AC, to make our stay more comfortable. All I got was that they had reached out to the “team”. I understand other people might be asking for the same but just tell us that you cant so we dont keep waiting.
Anyway this stay would probably be one of the best if there was no heatwave! 🤣 If you are sensitive to heat and plan on going in the summer, find a different hotel that specifically has AC

Lovely little apartment. It was great for 3 of us. Very clean, beds very comfortable. Great location, just down the stairs we had 3 little cafes for morning coffee options, a boulangerie for all kinds of wonderful pastries, many lunch and dinner options, a wine bar.
walking distance too the Louvre, the Hop o Hop off Bus. etc.
We are very happy with our choice.

I was a little hesitant to book after reading some of the reviews, but I’m so glad I did. The hotel exceeded my expectations. The moment I walked in, everything smelled fresh and clean, which immediately put me at ease.
As someone who used to work in property management, I know what signs to look for when it comes to cleanliness and potential pest issues. I did a thorough check of the room and found absolutely nothing concerning.
The hotel itself is charming, the location is fantastic, and it offers excellent value for the price. I noticed some reviews mentioning that the rooms are small, but honestly, the room size felt very normal for Paris standards. If you’re expecting a typical Paris hotel room, you’ll likely find it perfectly comfortable.
I do agree with one of the other reviews regarding the stairs. We stayed on the 5th floor, so it’s worth considering your mobility and luggage size when booking. If you’re healthy, able, and don’t mind a few flights of stairs, our 5th-floor room was great and well worth it.
I can also see where some guests may have concerns about the level of service, as this is a self-check-in property. If you’re not particularly tech-savvy or prefer a traditional front desk experience, it may not be the best fit. However, for my husband and me (in our 30s and 40s), the process was incredibly easy and honestly something we preferred. It was quick, seamless, and much faster than waiting to check in with staff.
Overall, this is a clean, cute hotel in a fantastic location that offers great value for the price. We had a wonderful stay and would happily stay here again.
Lindsay Beable★★★★☆
As it was the middle of a very hot heatwave and temps were up to 40°c the "Iceluxe" unit did not really cut it.
The studio is on the top floor (4th) and the main bed has v limited head space between it and the roof of the building.. so it was hot, hot hot!!. The decor of the studio is good and the building has a rustic charm. The shaded communal patios were a god send. However considering the wider situation not having in person reception or contact for reassurance and local knowledge was a noticeable deficit.

I’ve stayed at French Theory on a number of occasions and sadly, this may be my last. The hotel is conveniently located and within walking distance to several train lines. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from in the neighborhood and across from Jardin Luxembourg and around the corner from the Pantheon. The hotel has really strict check in policies and it seems like it depends on who is helping you at the front desk. Housekeeping knocked twice around 5pm, which seems like an odd time to be doing the rounds. The shower is tiny, the lighting insufficient. Keep in mind this is a no access street, so if you’re taking a car, it will have to meet you at either end of the street. Request a room facing the back of the building, due to neighborhood being centrally within several school, you’ll often hear students going to and from nearby cafes. I’ve stayed here three times, and each time there is construction. I’m not sure if it’s the adjacent buildings or the city but it seems like it’s always in construction.
It’s great for a young couple or solo traveller. There is no fridge and not every room has a safe. There is an elevator and a coffee shop on the ground floor.

I stayed here for two nights and had a truly fantastic experience, largely thanks to the incredible team. From the moment I arrived, the staff were genuinely welcoming and went out of their way to make me feel at home. The front desk lady greeted me with a warm, radiant smile that was the absolute perfect way to start each day, and the evening crew was just as friendly, attentive, and helpful with everything I needed.
The hotel boasts an excellent location and serves great coffee, but it’s the outstanding hospitality that really sets it apart.
A quick note on the layout: The rooms are on the compact side with tiny bathrooms, making this an ideal choice for solo travelers. However, families or anyone who prioritizes spacious rooms and large bathrooms might find the quarters a bit too tight.

I spent a delightful week at Hôtel Jean Bart, and I couldn’t be happier with my experience. My room on the first floor seemed recently renovated—clean, charming, and an excellent value at around €185 per night. As a solo traveller, the space was perfect, though it might feel a bit cramped for a couple.
The double bed was enjoyable, but if I had to highlight a minor drawback, it would be the bed’s breathability; I found myself getting a bit warm at night. However, the bathroom was a pleasant surprise for an older hotel, featuring excellent water pressure and a consistent supply of hot water. During my stay in late September and early October, I appreciated the room’s temperature control, easily managed by opening or closing the window.
Breakfast provided ample fuel for each day, featuring a wide choice of hot drinks, juice, flaky croissants and fresh, warm baguettes. The staff in the breakfast room were courteous and attentive, adding to the overall positive experience. The hotel’s location is fantastic, conveniently close to Montparnasse and the Jardin du Luxembourg, with a grocery store right across the street. I would highly recommend this hotel!

I stayed at Hotel Jean Bart during my trip to Paris, and it was a great little budget-friendly hotel. It’s absolutely no frills, so go in with simple expectations, but it gets the job done.
Coming from the U.S., I totally forgot that many European hotels still have smoking and non-smoking rooms. I chose a non-smoking room but could still smell a bit of smoke, something to keep in mind.
That said, the front desk and staff were incredible. Everyone was so kind, welcoming, and genuinely helpful throughout my stay.
The location is excellent, close enough to major attractions to walk or take a quick metro ride, but tucked away in a quieter area that feels very local.
Rooms are small, but honestly, that’s typical for Paris hotels. If you’re prepared for that, you’ll be fine.
Overall, a solid and affordable stay in a great part of the city. Perfect if you’re looking for something simple, clean, and well-located.

Petite gem! Stayed 3 nights (that unexpectedly turned into 4) - perfect location, clean, safe, and the staff were super friendly and helpful. Missed my train out of Paris and had no telephone service to call the hotel. I emailed them, and they very quickly responded that they had a room available for the extra night. This hotel was a more budget friendly recommendation of Rick Steve’s, and I couldn’t have been more pleased. Twin room is a bit larger with a larger bath. Side note - the AC worked perfectly!

On the whole, this was not a good stay. I know that budget hotel rooms can be small in Paris, but these were really crammed in - you wouldn’t want to turn up with a large suitcase and certainly not two. Unfortunately on our first night, there was a rat in the ceiling trying to rearrange the electric cables. Paris is an old city and I live on a farm, so I’m not overly horrified by this (except for any potential fire risk), but I needed the sleep, so the next morning my very polite French speaking daughter asked if we could move to another room. The staff seemed unsurprised by our request and moved us without question. Unfortunately though, we stupidly left our phone chargers - one an expensive Apple flash charger - in the old room and when we tried to retrieve them, they had disappeared. The room didn’t appear to have been relet and there wasn’t much help from the staff, who directed us to a shop round the corner. This really annoyed me, because it’s just dishonest and very disappointing. The staff generally weren’t particularly welcoming, or helpful - they actually seemed more interested in their phones. The bathrooms were particularly tired and neither shower door in either room closed. The breakfast was ok, but the reception area where you eat it is tiny and you’d be hard pressed to sit down if every guest turned up at the same time. They have built a further seating area outside on the side of the road, but not sure how that works in the rain - maybe more building work is planned, but we won’t be returning to find out.

Very good hotel. Clean, very helpful and friendly staff, and beautiful design. The rooms were nicely cooled down. We had a very good experience at the hotel. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. We even had one of the managers spoke to us in Spanish which made us feel like home. This location was very centric within the Latin Quarters and the proximity to many amenities (cathedral, gardens, river cruise, etc) and also to transportation. Getting to the airport was very easy since the station was within a short walk. Being located in the Latin Quarters meant access to lots of choices when it came to food. They do offer breakfast at the hotel (which we tried once) for convenience, but it’s very light and for a few more euros you can taste some restaurants around with a broader variety. The room we stayed was a double and it did not feel too small. Bathroom amenities were decent and just enough space. Two observations/considerations if visiting, is that they were dealing with ants at the time so make sure you let them service your room everyday to avoid attracting more ants. The other is the toiletts are designed for very low flow so you need to flush a few times. (Neither of these two were of any major inconvenience) Definitively, will recommend the hotel if staying in Paris.

This hotel is in an excellent location with many restaurants, cafes and shops close by. Short walk to Notre Dame and the Seine. The rooms were a bit of a disappointment. I booked 2 rooms for my stay with family. My room was okay but my daughter’s room had numerous issues. The shower head was rusty and the shower unit was coming away from the wall. The drain in the sink was very slow. The toilet roll holder was loose and the tables beside the bed were slanted and things slid off them.

Appart from the location, which was excellent, I must say that I was very disappointed. I have been in a few hotels across the world but I must say, it's the first time that I stayed in a room that the floor was not straight ( see the video ). Not only that, but the general condition of the room was pretty bad. Loose towel clips, cracked plaster on the ceiling faded paint on the wall etc.
I hope the management addresses these issues, as the excellent location alone is not enough to compensate for the poor condition of the property.

We stayed here for 2 nights and had a great experience. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. We were very happy with our stay and enjoyed our time here. We will definitely come back and highly recommend this place! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We are really disappointed with the basic access to hygiene and correction measures. My mother and I reached the hotel at 8.30am to leave our bags and freshen in hotel lobby. The lobby bathroom had a clogged basin with no corrective measures to solve the problem, and instead wait for the housekeeping. We aren’t going to get our room until 3pm which we understand and pay additional 50euros to have an early check in. How to expect guests to have 0 access to a clean basin until afternoon and rather pay more to get cleaned up sooner. Wasn’t expecting this from a 4 star luxury stay…not a great start to hospitality.

Don’t let the photos fool you. The rooms are much smaller than you think. I guess that’s typical for Paris. We were there in April and apparently the HVAC system is either in heating or cooling mode, because when it got warm we tried to turn the AC on but it didn’t work. We ended up opening the window, which was fine.

I've revisited this hotel a few times when I have to be in the neighborhood for my job. It's always a relaxing and enjoyable stay. The rooms are small but cosy and comfortable, all the necessary amenities are available (coffee and tea, bathrobes, slippers). Breakfast is quite varied with good cheese, jams, scrambled eggs and pancakes. Being vegetarian we enjoyed the vegan quiche on our last morning. Reception, breakfast and cleaning staff are always very friendly and welcoming.

This hotel provides a peaceful and quiet oasis where you can rest and recoup after a day of fighting crowds and/or standing in line while sightseeing or shopping. It has a great location on a quiet street which is close enough to walk to the many small shops and restaurants moments away, or to the many historic sights elsewhere in the Latin Quarter. The rooms are tastefully decorated and by Parisian standards, of comfortable size. We were a party of three so we chose a suite which included two rooms and a balcony which provided a breathtaking view of the Pantheon. It is quite a lovely place to sit and relax after a long day of exploring the city. But it is the staff that actually deserves more stars than the five provided. The Manager personally greeted us, and we arrived in the room to find a lovely hand written note from her and some fresh flowers. There is no greater gesture to welcome you to a hotel. She also checked in on us periodically during our stay to ensure we were pleased with our accommodations. When a slight problem did come up, she handled it efficiently, fairly and competently. We stayed five nights and after our first breakfast, the kitchen manager knew where we liked to sit and that we liked American coffee, and she made sure we received it all through our stay. This trip could have turned out differently if not for the assistance of Stefania at the Front Desk. We have met a lot of helpful staff in our many travels, but Stefania ranks up there as the very best. Every day, she went above and beyond and took excellent care of our group, offered suggestions, printed maps, and recommended bus and subway information, always with a welcoming and friendly smile. Her assistance in a matter that came up was invaluable, and she continued to handle it until the situation was resolved in our favor, which was well after our stay was over. She truly cares about her guests and does everything she can to ensure your visit is a pleasant and memorable one. That kind of service is very rare, and we are so very grateful to her and so appreciative of all she did which resulted in our stay being a wonderful experience. We highly, highly recommend this hotel and the exceptional care they provide for their valued guests.

This hotel it’s located in the Latin Quarters and it was the best part of our trip, it’s close to every city sightseeing spot. The lobby staff was super kind, all of them! And all of them very attentive and helpful.
You can walk everywhere that’s in a tourist bucket list. We liked that there were a lot of locals in the area as well, so we found many good bakeries guided by where the French people were eating.
The rooms were perfect size, they had all the amenities we needed and the bathroom was spacious.

Hôtel Delavigne left me with the warmest and most pleasant impressions.
First of all, I would like to highlight the incredible location. The hotel is situated just steps away from the Luxembourg Gardens and Place de l'Odéon, and within easy walking distance of Notre-Dame and many other top sights. It is also right next to the lively Boulevard Saint-Michel and Boulevard Saint-Germain, where you can find a huge variety of restaurants and cafés for dinner.
Special thanks to the staff, as it is hard to imagine a more friendly and welcoming team. They kindly accommodated an early check-in for me, which was a huge plus after traveling.
The room was wonderful, being very bright, clean, cozy, and equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay.
I will definitely come back here again and will gladly recommend Hôtel Delavigne to all my friends!

We were very happy with our stay ay Hotel Delavigne. The rooms were updated and very clean. Most of all, the staff was very helpful to us while we learned how to navigate the city. And when we chose to take a taxi, they arranged it all for us.
The breakfast downstairs was excellent and well worth the price.
We were located near the Odeon metra and a few blocks from the bus.

We stayed here for 3 nights as a couple and had a wonderful experience. The hospitality was excellent, and the staff made us feel truly welcome with their warm and personal approach. Breakfast was very good and a pleasant way to start the day. The location is probably one of the best you could ask for in Paris – the neighborhood is beautiful, lively, and perfect for exploring the city on foot. Not to mention the hotel has an elevator, unlike the most of old historical buildings in the central city areas. We would happily stay here again.

While the room was very small, it worked just fine for our needs. Very clean, extremely charming and "Parisian," and in good condition. It was exactly what we wanted to experience the city.
I do want to especially recognize how absolutely wonderful the staff was. They made us feel so welcome and comfortable. We do not know a word of French beyond "Merci and Bon jour" and they were fantastic with directions, recommendations and help navigating the Metro. It really felt like home for the 10 days we stayed here.
The hotel is close to restaurants, bakeries, art galleries, shops of all kinds and just a block or two from a Metro station. WE LOVED IT!

I LOVED staying here. The location is unbeatable, very walkable and safe. Im solo traveling so safety and all women’s dorms are important. The rooms and bathrooms were very clean. Staff was so kind and helpful. Free lockers with codes [no lock needed] are provided for your valuables in a secured room behind reception. It was quiet [tho this varies depending on who is staying there]. The only thing is breakfast is basically just bread and apple sauce, sometimes yogurt lol. But HIGHLY recommend the stay!!!

I had a wonderful stay at MIJE Fourcy in Paris. The location is perfect — right in the center of the city, which made it very easy to explore everything.
We were pleasantly surprised to be given a private room. Everything was very clean and comfortable, and we had our own shower, which made the stay even better.
The breakfast was excellent — simple but fresh and very enjoyable, a perfect start to the day before walking around Paris.
The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, always ready to help with a smile. The atmosphere was warm and relaxed.
Overall, it was a great experience, and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable stay in the heart of Paris.

Lovely hostel in a great location — the sheets are clean and beds are already made, which is always a nice touch.
A few things worth flagging though: the toilets are separate from the rooms, which I actually like, but there are no sinks in there, which is a bit of a hygiene concern. Not sure why a tap-and-toilet combo unit hasn't been fitted as a simple fix. There's also no soap in the rooms, so if you haven't brought your own, properly washing your hands is a challenge.
On the plus side, breakfast is a lovely bonus — especially given the price point, when so many hostels have dropped it entirely. The one downside is the amount of single-use plastic it generates: individual jam portions, mini yoghurts and the like. Would be great to see that reconsidered.

Great Location. Easy to access using the M1 and M7. Staff at the reception and at the restaurant were very helpful. The only downside were the toilets at the common areas that were smelly and not frequent serviced. Expect a modest breakfast, enough to break your night fasting.

Excellent location, specially when compared to price. Beautiful building.
Stayed four nights. The bed was comfy but I didn't like the room. The room has a shower + sink which is divided by a sliding door which you cannot lock. I had the first bed which was directly in front of the bedroom door. When someone entered late at night the lights from the hallway hit you directly in your face (I don't really understand why the hall lights are SO bright, they are like those lights in movie sets). But the main thing is that you don't have a place to plug your phone near your bed, only a USB port which didn't work. I had to leave my phone in the sink at night.
There was a small bathroom with two toilets in the hallway, which were ok but there wasn't any hand soap available.
It's nice that they serve breakfast, but the quality could improve (I don't pretend nothing fancy). The coffee didn't taste good, it came out super burnt and you can't adjust how much of it you want, the machine fills your cup up. They offer yogurt, cereals, white bread with butter, and a store bought cake (which was the best option in my opinion). There was a bit odd smell in the cafeteria in the mornings.
The shared space is nice, some couches, places to work. Comfortable. Couple of places to plug your phone, some games and books. I tried connecting to the wifi a couple of times and even though there was good signal, I had no internet connection (both in my room and in the shared space).
Overall, I chose it because it was the cheapest option in a very centric place, but the room things really bothered me.
Tips for Booking Budget Hotels near the Panthéon
Securing the best rate requires a bit of strategy and an understanding of how Parisian hotels operate. While the list above provides excellent starting points, the price of any room in Paris fluctuates dramatically based on the season, local events, and booking windows. By employing a few insider strategies, you can maximize your chances of locking in a fantastic deal and ensuring your stay is both comfortable and affordable.
Book well in advance for peak seasons. Paris is one of the most visited cities in the world, and the Latin Quarter is a prime destination. If you are traveling between May and September, or during the Christmas holidays, inventory sells out quickly. Booking two to three months in advance not only guarantees you a room but often secures a lower "early bird" rate than waiting until the last minute.
Embrace the "French" room size. Space is a luxury in central Paris, and budget hotels reflect this reality. A standard double room might feel small compared to hotels in North America or Australia. To save money, choose the smallest room category that fits your needs and plan to spend most of your waking hours exploring the city rather than lounging in the room.
Check for breakfast inclusion or skip it. While a hotel breakfast is convenient, it can sometimes add €10 to €15 per person to your nightly rate. Before booking a rate that includes breakfast, check the price difference. Often, you can save money by walking to a local boulangerie and enjoying a fresh croissant and coffee for a fraction of the cost, giving you a more authentic start to the day.
Utilize public transport links. While staying near the Panthéon is walkable, you are also well-connected by the RER B (Luxembourg station) and Metro Line 10 (Cardinal Lemoine or Maubert-Mutualité). If hotel prices spike directly on the Place du Panthéon, consider expanding your search to hotels within a five-minute walk of these stations. You will still be in the neighborhood but might find lower rates slightly off the main square.
Look for "Courtyard" or "Upper Floor" rooms. Noise can be an issue in the lively Latin Quarter, but you usually pay a premium for a view. If you are a light sleeper, request a room facing the interior courtyard or on a higher floor. These rooms are often priced the same as street-facing rooms but offer a much quieter night’s sleep, which is essential for enjoying your busy days.
Exploring the area around the Panthéon offers an unmatched glimpse into the soul of Paris. By choosing one of these budget-friendly accommodations, you are making a smart financial decision that allows you to allocate more of your travel funds toward experiences, dining, and entry to the incredible historical sites that surround you.
Whether you are watching the sunset from the steps of the Panthéon or getting lost in the ancient streets of the Latin Quarter, having a comfortable, affordable base to return to makes the trip all the more enjoyable. With a little planning and the right hotel choice, your Parisian dream is well within reach.
