12 Best Hotels near the Panthéon

Stepping off the bustling Boulevard Saint-Michel and into the quiet, scholarly embrace of the Latin Quarter, your eyes inevitably settle on the imposing silhouette of the Panthéon. This neoclassical masterpiece, originally commissioned by King Louis XV, now serves as the final resting place for some of France’s most revered figures, including Voltaire, Rousseau, and Marie Curie. Its prime location on the Montagne Sainte-Geneviève makes it not only a cultural touchstone but also a perfect anchor for your Parisian adventure.

Choosing the right accommodation transforms a simple sightseeing trip into an immersive historical experience. The streets surrounding the Panthéon are a labyrinth of cobblestone lanes, hidden courtyards, and vibrant cafés that have inspired writers and philosophers for centuries. By staying within walking distance, you trade the impersonal nature of business districts for the authentic rhythm of one of Paris’s oldest neighborhoods.

However, "near the Panthéon" can mean very different things depending on your travel style. To the north, you find the energetic atmosphere of the Sorbonne and the tourist-friendly St-Germain-des-Prés, while the south offers a more residential, local feel near the Rue Mouffetard market. The area is surprisingly compact, yet the character of the streets shifts dramatically within just a few blocks, affecting noise levels and convenience.

The 5th arrondissement is also a hub for public transportation, making it an excellent base for exploring the wider city. The Luxembourg RER station provides a direct link to Charles de Gaulle Airport, while multiple metro lines connect you swiftly to the Louvre, the Eiffel Tower, and the Marais. Staying here saves you valuable time that would otherwise be spent commuting, allowing you to linger over a morning coffee instead of rushing for a train.

Visitors often seek a balance between historical charm and modern comfort, and the hotels in this district deliver exactly that. From opulent five-star residences housed in Haussmann-era buildings to intimate boutique hideaways with exposed wooden beams, the variety is staggering. Whether you are in Paris for a romantic getaway, a solo academic pilgrimage, or a family vacation, there is a property tailored to your needs.

The proximity to the Sorbonne University infuses the area with a youthful, intellectual energy that is palpable in the local bookshops and late-night eateries. This is not a neighborhood that goes silent after dark; rather, it transforms as students and locals fill the terraces of the Place de la Contrescarpe. Selecting a hotel here means you are placing yourself at the heart of living history, not just a static museum district.

To help you navigate the best options, we have curated a list of exceptional properties that offer superior comfort, distinct character, and unbeatable proximity to this iconic monument. These selections prioritize guest experience, ensuring that your stay in the Latin Quarter is as memorable as the views of the Panthéon’s dome from your window.

Great location and reasonable price of this place helped me to make a choice. Hotel is located in the Latin quarter, safe place, and is literally within a 10-minute walking distance of Notre dame de Paris and Pantheon. Close to Shakespeare books store, Luxembourg garden. It is surrounded by the restaurants, boutiques and bakeries. Everything is in walking distance, including metro station, 7 and 10. Staff was friendly, except one man at checkout. Breakfast cost extra, but we didn't need it, so many options outside. Room was on the 6th floor with a view towards Notre dame de Paris. Elevator can only fit two people, but worked perfectly. Room was clean, very small, bathroom was very narrow and tiny, but there was a working ac unit, which was a huge plus in the middle of the summer and heat. If I would stay here again, I would. We stayed 2 nights in July and prices were bit higher.
Laura Crites★★★★☆
My boyfriend and I stayed here for 2 nights in June. We were delighted that we had a room on the 6th floor facing Notre-Dame Cathedral. Pros: easy access to the subway, and walking distance to tourist destinations, the air conditioner was good but didn’t get as cold as we would have liked, beds were comfy. Cons: the bathroom was very small (if you are a tall person you may have a hard time using the toilet and shower). When we checked-in we were sleep deprived and jet lagged and would have appreciated if the front desk staff could have been more welcoming and patient. Overall we would stay here again.

Perfect hotel. Close to transport links. Quiet enough to sleep at night. Tea and coffee provided. Lovely lady on front desk. You're able to store your luggage on check out day. Wouldn't hesitate to come back!

Great location. We got the room at the top floor and the views were amazing. You can even see Notre Dame on a clear day. The beds were fine, the bathroom was perfect. The room was cozy. There was a little visitor on our balcony but we didn't mind him.
Donna Genge★★★★☆
The location is perfect, easy walk to several favorite locations in Paris and close to the train. Rooms are small but fine for a few days. The bathroom in our room was tight had to turn sideways to get past the sink and wall to get to the toilet. The rooms have different setups so not all like this. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would recommend 👌

We had a great stay at Hôtel Quartier Latin. The hotel was clean and well maintained which made us feel comfortable from the moment we arrived. The location is excellent and very central making it easy to explore Paris. Getting around was simple because both Uber and public transportation were easily accessible. We were able to reach all the major attractions quickly and without any problems. The staff were incredibly kind, welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. They were always happy to answer questions and made us feel well looked after. Overall we would definitely recommend Hôtel Quartier Latin to anyone looking for a clean hotel with a fantastic location and excellent service.

We stayed one night at Hotel Quartier Latin in Paris and had a very pleasant experience. The hotel itself was clean, comfortable, and functional, with everything we needed for a short stay. However, the real Star of the show was Paul. His service elevated our stay from good to truly memorable. From the moment we arrived, he was warm, charismatic, and genuinely interested in helping us make the most of our time in Paris. What impressed us most was how personalised his advice was. Rather than giving generic tourist recommendations, he took the time to understand our music tastes and suggested places to visit for the Fête de la Musique that matched our preferences perfectly. He also provided detailed guidance on travel routes, timings, and how to navigate the city efficiently, which made our plans much easier. Paul's enthusiasm, local knowledge, and exceptional hospitality made us feel genuinely welcomed. Staff like him are rare and can make all the difference to a guest's experience. Thank you, Paul, for making our visit so special. We would happily stay here again.

This hotel had friendly staff, the rooms were clean and had everything we needed, and the location was good (close to notre dame and metro). The only complaint was I wish they provided a few more towels. Would recommend and go back!
Joanne Withers★☆☆☆☆
Extremely Disappointing — Would Not Recommend Horrible experience. The room we were given was dirty, neglected, and nothing like the photos online. The front desk employee was unpleasant and at times outright rude. We booked this hotel based on many positive reviews, but our room was filthy, with multiple holes in the walls, bathroom tiles that were broken and falling off, and several other general maintenance issues. The issue was not the age of the building or the size of the room — we fully understand what to expect in Europe. The problem was the lack of basic cleanliness and upkeep. We raised our concerns with the front desk. She told us to wait in the room while she looked into options. After about half an hour, she called to say that although other rooms were available, they would not be offering us a different one as they are all the same. She dismissed our concerns by saying “it’s Europe,” which had nothing to do with the issues we reported. Even though we had paid for multiple nights, we left immediately and booked another hotel at our own expense. It was the only reasonable option given the condition of the room. The location is good, but that doesn’t make up for the inability to sleep comfortably or stay in a clean, maintained space. Based on our experience, I would not recommend booking this hotel.
Christopher Quinn★★★★☆
We only stayed one night to prepare for our flight back to NY. Hotel was okay for a shorter stay. No dresser in room and room was a bit small. Front desk staff was very pleasant and helpful.

It was my second time in the hotel. Another fantastic stay. The staff was accommodating, professional and lovely. Nothing was a problem. Everything was done with a smile and patience. The rooms so clean, big and classy. I will come back for sure many times. Thank you!

I found the staff at your hotel to be the most personable and helpful people in Paris. Anything that I needed they were able to respond. I love the location. It's not that far from the Seine. It's in the student district and so that was real nice to have all the young students about. The services in the neighborhood were so good that I frequented them the most, including the sporting good stores, the patisserie, your two restaurants on opposing corners And the coffee shop around the corner and the nail boutique around the other corner. The breakfast was a perfect start for the day. Included everything needed for nourishing, delicious items to choose from. And the espresso machine . The Best deal in the City! Everything was kept perfectly clean. Thank you, Irene Murray, NY

I have been staying at this hotel for the past 17 years when I visit Paris. The people here are so kind and generous and it feels like we are returning to family every time we stay here. The rooms are so clean, the hotel is centrally located, the employees and director are so kind and generous. I can't speak highly enough. They are the very best. They really make us feel welcome and comfortable and I felt so lucky to have found this wonderful place where I will keep on returning to if I am lucky enough to visit Paris. With all my gratitude.

From the moment I arrived at the Villa Pantheon, I felt welcomed. The staff is extremely warm and efficient. Everyone from the front desk to the breakfast staff and the cleaning staff were so friendly and helpful. They accommodated every request that I had and went beyond to ensure my stay was wonderful. My time at the hotel was during the Paris Heat Dome and the staff never lost their cool. My only suggestion would be that the rooms would benefit with a renovation, but they are comfortable and spacious.

Had an absolutely fantastic time at Villa Pantheon. We had an issue with the air conditioning, and were immediately moved to a new room, no questions asked. The staff, Wiktoria, Merryl, Vincent and Lilia really are the stars of the place. No request is too much, always a big smile and super helpful. We really liked staying at Pantheon, and this has become our “go to” next time we are in Paris. Thank you so much for making our stay so easy and fun.It was perfect

I had an amazing 4-night stay at Les Bulles de Paris. I was lucky enough to get a room with a beautiful view of the Panthéon, which made the experience even more special. The location is fantastic—bus stops and metro stations are just a short walk away, making it easy to explore Paris. It's also within walking distance of the Latin Quarter, Notre-Dame Cathedral, and many other attractions. Having Maison bakery nearby was a huge bonus for fresh pastries and coffee every morning. The hotel was always clean, comfortable, and well maintained. What truly made this stay exceptional was the front desk team. A special thanks to Hossum, who was incredibly kind, welcoming, and extremely knowledgeable about local restaurants. Every recommendation he gave was excellent—you won't be disappointed if you take his advice. Diane was wonderful as well and helped us with our booking, making everything smooth and stress-free. taher was also friendly and helpful throughout our stay. One personal tip: book directly through the hotel's website. You'll thank me later! I would absolutely stay at Les Bulles de Paris again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable hotel in a perfect Paris location with outstanding customer service.

Had a great 10-day stay here in Paris. Location was great, I've walked around Paris a lot during this time and I was very happy with where we stayed. Its quiet and close to all the major landmarks. Upon arrival we got upgraded to a bigger room with a bigger bed (they said it was their biggest room). This was awesome and probably made our trip because I don't think we would've slept too well in a double bed. Got a bit confused with the breakfast option. Both mine and my wife's understanding was that the breakfast place in front of reception was 12 euro as the receptionist pointed to the sign they had with this price and then to that room. Turns out it was actually 22 euro instead. Fortunately we did not eat there every day and had we known we would've eaten there even less. It was good enough, but not too worth it for us since my wife barely eats in the morning. Lastly, one of the receptionist also had a strange reaction when I told her what eastern european country I am originally from (we were talking about my name origin). It kind of made me self conscious the rest of the trip to mention it to anyone once I learned that my people do not have the best reputation here haha. I didn't know this cause I lived in Canada most of my life. Anyway even with all of this, keeping it a 5 star because the upgrade was nice and I liked it overall.
Denise Pring★★★★★
This hotel is lovely, yes rooms are a litte compact, but has everything you need in them. Staff were very helpful and couldn't do enough for you. It is ideally situated in the latin quarter, less than 5 minute walk to the metro or a 10 minute walk to Notre- dame
Tara Vallender★★★★★
A lovely hotel that I would recommend. Staff were very helpful with any questions I had. The whats app communication was very useful as they would let me know when my room was ready and I could ask questions which would be answered quickly. The location was great, not far from Gardens de Luxembourg and just round the corner from the Notre Dame bus stop for the Tootoot bus which I used to get around before 7:30pm. The only problem I had was the noise outside my room one night when I needed to be up early the following morning for a coach trip - I realised there were bar tables outside my door used for the bar round the corner as I was on the ground floor. Saying that, if I did go to Paris again I would still stay in this hotel.

5⭐️I booked a room at Les Boules de Paris in Paris for my mother, and she was absolutely delighted with her stay. Everything met her expectations, and she felt very comfortable throughout. A special thank you to Diana Orlova at the reception. She was incredibly kind, welcoming, and professional, and she helped my mother with all her questions and needs. We truly appreciate her support and care. We are very grateful and would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

We loved it here! Paid for an upgrade to get a room with our own balcony and it was beautiful. The view was wonderful, bed was comfy, and it was spacious enough. Helpful concierge, clean, convenient and loved the 12pm checkout time.

Adorable hotel and staff, warm welcome and a free Espresso upon arrival. I had a nice double room in the 5th floor with small balcony. Huge bathrom for Paris though, delicious breakfast with eggs, omelette upon request. The quartier latin is the best area to stay, within walking distance so many cafes, restaurants, 10 min walk to Notre Dame! I love this small and typical hotel style, it's Paris how it used and has to be 🙂 MERCI beaucoup Yana, and the 2 two Monsieurs form night service, you are kind hosts.

Had the perfect stay at hotel. Do college de France. Our room was wonderful and air-conditioned. Yes, a little small but we were prepared from other reviews. We couldn't have been happier with the service, location, breakfast, everything. When I needed help calling the palace of Versailles over some ticket issues. Yana came to the rescue with a phone and helped me in my time of need. We will definitely recommend this hotel to anyone we know coming to Paris.
David Chalashvili★★★★★
We loved the atmosphere and the service of this hotel. We came here with friends, and enjoyed every minute of the stay. The location is very calm and quiet at night. We got the room with an amazing terrace and with the view on the city! The stuff, Julie, Yana, and Eric were so kind and helpful. Huge plus was the breakfast! Definitely coming back here again.

Really happy with this hotel. The welcome was excellent and our room ready earlier than expected. Room was clean, tidy, super cool. The downstairs is interesting and quite different! Location right in the middle of things. Yana and Nikita on reception were very helpful and friendly.

Fantastic location - stone's throw from Rue Mouffetard, Rotisserie Segar, Maison D'Isabelle and pharmacy Monge (tourist delights). Great Japanese coffee shop next door, restaurants right outside the gate, and only a short walk to the Seine, the Pantheon, Saint Germain de Près, La Sorbonne etc. Etc. The cutest, sweetest courtyard and all staff i encountered were genuinely lovely and so helpful. They also gave my daughter a warm hug and chocolate bar for her birthday. Don't forget to find the resident kitty cat. Room for 2 was very cosy and quiet. It was bit small but not uncommon for Paris. It was very clean and had L'Occitane toiletry products. They have air-conditioning!! I highly recommend staying here.
David Anderson★★★★★
Hotel des Grandes Écoles is a rare refuge in Paris that feels like stepping straight from the busy city into the French countryside of a simpler time. The lush courtyard, welcoming staff, and newly renovated rooms with beautiful fixtures and tile give it the charm of a quaint manor rather than a chain hotel. The absence of televisions is a feature, not a flaw—it helps you truly disconnect and sink into the calm. Breakfast is the highlight: enjoyed outdoors in the peaceful courtyard, with a perfectly balanced mix of sweet and savory that makes lingering over the morning feel natural. After a day wandering a bustling city, coming back here is genuinely restorative. Tucked in the Latin Quarter, close to Saint‑Germain, Notre‑Dame, and great food and shops with easy access to the metro, it’s both a serene retreat and an ideal base for exploring Paris.
Mia Brammer Nyholm★★★★★
Loved it. Lovely calm and provence-y atmosphere, especially with delicious breakfast in the courtyard, nice staff and great location near metro station and rigt next to square with cafés. We traveled with a 12 and 14-year old and they slept very well on the sofabed (which is rare). Definitely coming back.
Pierre Lachance★★★★★
Truly a hidden gem. I mean really. You enter a large doorway off the street like Alice through the Looking Glass to find a quiet courtyard festooned with plants and flowers. You can have breakfast in the garden, which is a delight. Friendly staff.
Anne Pilling★★★★★
Wonderful hotel in a great location. Our room was comfortable, clean and - very importantly - quiet. The quartier is very lively with lots of restaurants and bars but the courtyard garden of the hotel screens off the sound very effectively and it was very quiet at night. We appreciated the lack of TVs in the rooms which added to the 'country house' atmosphere. The staff were all friendly and efficient and the breakfast was fresh, well presented and delicious. No negatives and we will definitely be booking again next time we come to Paris.

We stayed here for 2 nights. This hotel is located —right next to the Panthéon, with the Notre-Dame and the Marais both within easy walking distance. If you love exploring a city on foot, this is the perfect base. Paris was sweltering during our stay, but the hotel’s air conditioning was a lifesaver—powerful yet pleasantly quiet. The décor is classic and charming, though, as is common in Paris, the rooms are quite small. At 18 sqm, our room felt even tighter: upon entering, all we saw was the bed. The separate toilet and bathroom layout, while practical in theory, felt awkward in such a compact space. The bathtub design also makes showering tricky—water tends to splash everywhere, and it might be challenging for older guests (though that wasn’t an issue for us personally). That said, the staff at the front desk were exceptionally friendly, and the housekeeping was thorough and meticulous. Overall, a stay with real character and comfort, as long as you’re prepared for the quirks of a classic Parisian hotel.

This was our second time staying in this hotel and it was absolutely amazing and pleasant 🇫🇷❤️ the staff was very nice and lovely and especially Isabel the women who works in the kitchen. My new favourite hotel in Paris. We were upgraded to a suite which was very spacious and beautifully decorated. Breakfast had plenty of choice, location was great, overall couldn’t fault the hotel. Would definitely recommend!

We loved our stay and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Paris! The decor is lovely and has a lot of character, feels very classically french. The views from the rooms are spectacular since it is up on the hill. Very walk-able to everything Paris has to offer- amazing restaurants and lots to do.

Our room was a good size for this area of Paris and in this price range. Elevator and a small comfortable lounge in the foyer. Our room had big windows that opened up directly onto the Pantheon. An amazing view! The staff were friendly and helpful. Housekeeping was quiet and thorough. Our room was clean, well dressed and stylish. Location in tbe Latin Quarter (5th Arrond) was wonderful. A beautiful bistro and beloungerie in the street behind really rounds out how good this was. Close to all transport links, easy walking to most of the major attractions.

Stayed in the triple privilege room with my two friends. What an amazing experience! Everyone was so kind and helpful. Our flight was delayed a full 24 hours :(, but the staff at this hotel rebooked our ride from the airport without trouble AND had a bottle of champagne waiting for us in our room once we made it there. The air conditioning is GREAT. The showers are great. Very nice hotel. There is so much character, which I love! This is a wonderful hotel, and a friend and I have already booked to return and stay at this hotel this June. 🙂

Stayed here last night and I cannot complain. We arrived close to midnight and the staff were welcoming and polite. The rooms are nice, clean and quirky. The AC and WiFi always helps! Whilst the balcony is small there is enough space for a couple of people to stand and enjoy the view. In terms of location it is only a 10 min walk from Notre Dam, which is not far from the Lourve.

Just got back from Hotel & Spa Saint-Jacques in Paris and it was a real find. Our room had so much character — yes, on the smaller side, but every inch was thoughtfully used and well equipped, so nothing felt missing. The highlight for me was the little balcony — having breakfast out there coffee in hand, watching the street wake up below, was the perfect start to a day of walking the city. After hours on your feet exploring Paris, the spa was an absolute lifesaver. A proper soak and steam to recover before heading back out (or just collapsing happily into bed) made a huge difference. Atmospheric, cozy, well-located, and just the right mix of charm and comfort. Five stars all the way!

Staying here gave me such wonderful memories of Paris, and I already miss it so much. I can’t wait to come back!

Our family of four arrived in Paris from Rome and were very pleased with our stay at Les Patios du Marais. The apartment was exactly as described and pictured, making it easy to settle in after our travels. The location was outstanding and one of the highlights of our stay. We were able to explore much of Paris on foot, and when needed, both the Metro and taxis were conveniently close by. We also appreciated the thoughtfulness of our host during the extreme heat wave. Two fans had been set up and were already running when we arrived, making the apartment as comfortable as possible under the circumstances. While the unusually high temperatures meant we didn’t spend much downtime inside the apartment, we enjoyed relaxing in the charming outdoor courtyard and covered hallways, where the café tables and chairs provided a pleasant, cooler place to unwind after a day of sightseeing. Overall, this was an excellent home base for exploring Paris. Between the convenient location, comfortable accommodations, and attentive host, we would happily stay here again and recommend Les Patios du Marais to other travelers.

Great Location if you have a short amount of time to visit Paris! The rooms are also very clean, well maintained, and well decorated. If you are planning to book make sure that you have no problems with stairs, ours was on the 4th floor and they are very steep. We had no problems with them but other people might. The only problem I had was the service. There was a heatwave the days we were here and all I asked for was one more fan, not even for them to fix the AC, to make our stay more comfortable. All I got was that they had reached out to the “team”. I understand other people might be asking for the same but just tell us that you cant so we dont keep waiting. Anyway this stay would probably be one of the best if there was no heatwave! 🤣 If you are sensitive to heat and plan on going in the summer, find a different hotel that specifically has AC

Lovely little apartment. It was great for 3 of us. Very clean, beds very comfortable. Great location, just down the stairs we had 3 little cafes for morning coffee options, a boulangerie for all kinds of wonderful pastries, many lunch and dinner options, a wine bar. walking distance too the Louvre, the Hop o Hop off Bus. etc. We are very happy with our choice.

I was a little hesitant to book after reading some of the reviews, but I’m so glad I did. The hotel exceeded my expectations. The moment I walked in, everything smelled fresh and clean, which immediately put me at ease. As someone who used to work in property management, I know what signs to look for when it comes to cleanliness and potential pest issues. I did a thorough check of the room and found absolutely nothing concerning. The hotel itself is charming, the location is fantastic, and it offers excellent value for the price. I noticed some reviews mentioning that the rooms are small, but honestly, the room size felt very normal for Paris standards. If you’re expecting a typical Paris hotel room, you’ll likely find it perfectly comfortable. I do agree with one of the other reviews regarding the stairs. We stayed on the 5th floor, so it’s worth considering your mobility and luggage size when booking. If you’re healthy, able, and don’t mind a few flights of stairs, our 5th-floor room was great and well worth it. I can also see where some guests may have concerns about the level of service, as this is a self-check-in property. If you’re not particularly tech-savvy or prefer a traditional front desk experience, it may not be the best fit. However, for my husband and me (in our 30s and 40s), the process was incredibly easy and honestly something we preferred. It was quick, seamless, and much faster than waiting to check in with staff. Overall, this is a clean, cute hotel in a fantastic location that offers great value for the price. We had a wonderful stay and would happily stay here again.
Lindsay Beable★★★★☆
As it was the middle of a very hot heatwave and temps were up to 40°c the "Iceluxe" unit did not really cut it. The studio is on the top floor (4th) and the main bed has v limited head space between it and the roof of the building.. so it was hot, hot hot!!. The decor of the studio is good and the building has a rustic charm. The shaded communal patios were a god send. However considering the wider situation not having in person reception or contact for reassurance and local knowledge was a noticeable deficit.

This little jewelry box of a hotel is perfectly situated for exploring the Latin Quarter. Very helpful employees made me feel like an old friend not just a paying guest. Excellent wifi!

My daughter and I stayed here and were extremely pleased! The room was nice and clean, beds were comfortable, and location was perfect (walking distance to so many of Paris’ main attractions). And I must say if I could give the service 10 stars I would. The staff were extremely helpful, friendly and spoke several languages. They were always there to help us with anything we needed! Also, this is one of a few hotels in Paris that has air-conditioning. And I was so glad that I chose it as there was an extreme heat wave during the time of our visit. I can’t recommend this hotel enough. I will definitely stay here again.

We had a very pleasant 4 night stay at this hotel in the Latin Quarter of Paris. It is part of the Best Western chain. The room was small but very nice and appeared recently renovated. Breakfast was not included in our room rate but we chose to add it for €14 per person which provided a hot and cold buffet which was very nice. All the staff were very friendly and professional, offering suggestions for local restaurants. The area was really great, very diverse and it had a great neighbourhood vibe we really enjoyed. This was our 3rd stay at the Apolonia over many years and I am glad we chose it to kick off our vacation in France.

Recommended this hotel to friends and they weren't disappointed. The rooms are pretty small however well decorated, kept, clean and functional. The room had windows on the interior courtyard which was perfect because there's a lot of noise street side. They loved the area, the neighborhood and how, lively it was. It is well located and near many areas of interest. Room cleaning is available upon request and therefore not automatic. The check in and checkout process was smooth. The receptionist was attentive, kind ans professionnal. Will surely recommend this hotel to friends or family members again!

We stayed at Hotel Apolonia for three nights in October 2025 and had a wonderful experience. The staff were very friendly, the rooms spotless, and best of all – the location. The hotel is situated right in the middle of a lively “food street,” offering a wide variety of international cuisines to choose from. It’s located in a pedestrian zone, so there’s no traffic noise, and the nearest metro station is just a three-minute walk away. We were very satisfied with our stay and would definitely return. One small remark – if you sleep with the window open, you can hear the surrounding air conditioning units from nearby rooms quite clearly, but it’s nothing that would spoil the overall experience.

I'm writing this review a little late, hence I recognized that I forgot to write this wonderful hotel. The room, bathroom, linens, and towels were clean. The beds were comfortable. The street and Pantheon views were delightful. The staff were polite. They tagged and took our luggage before check-in. The location wasn't the best, but it was still good. The rooms are small, but you don't go to Paris to just sit in your room. Come to your room, sleep in clean and comfortable beds, have uninterrupted hot water, a well-functioning air conditioner, and a clean bathroom. In a European city, I don't think you need to expect more from a hotel. This place meets all of those requirements well.

I had an excellent stay at this hotel. The location was perfect, convenient, safe, and within easy reach of all the main attractions. The room was spotless, comfortable, and very well maintained, making it a pleasure to come back to after a long day. The cleanliness throughout the hotel was exceptional, and the staff provided outstanding service. Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help with a smile, making the entire experience even more enjoyable. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable, clean, and well-located place to stay.

The worst hotel I stayed in Paris. It 1 star. Not 4. The smell is disgusting. The room is a hostel room, not 4 star hotel. You can’t even open a suitcase. The window opens to another window. The room was not ready at 15.00. Don’t be fooled by pictures. Do not recommended.

Nice, quiet, air conditioned but small (by U.S. standards) rooms in central paris location - walk to some sites. Staff is very friendly and breakfast is nice. Glad we came here.

Stayed there for 3 nights. The hotel was clean, the location was excellent, and the air conditioning worked perfectly. I have nothing to complain about. It’s conveniently located near public transportation and within easy reach of all the major attractions.

Hôtel Résidence Henri IV is a beautiful boutique hotel in the Latin Quarter. It’s well located in a quiet neighborhood and within easy walking distance of Notre Dame, the Pantheon, Hôtel de Ville, the Marais, St. Germain, and countless shops/restaurants. Service is fantastic. I enjoyed room service breakfast every morning (because why not 😉). I highly recommend Henri IV❣️

Wow! What an absolute gem of a hotel. We stayed in an air bnb for our first few days in Paris and when we decided to extend our stay, we stumbled upon Hotel Residence Henri IV and had the most amazing last night in Paris! The staff were extremely welcoming and nice to interact with. The room made us feel like we were royals for a night. This hotel will definitely be on our list for any future trips to Paris!

We had a lovely one-night stay at Hotel Résidence Henri IV and were very pleased with the overall experience. The room was clean, and the classic French decor throughout the hotel gave it a warm, authentic charm. The location is excellent, nestled in the heart of the famed Latin Quarter with plenty of character and charm. With both Maubert-Mutualité and Cardinal Lemoine metro stations just a short 3-minute walk away, getting around Paris was very convenient. There are also plenty of food options nearby. A special mention to Monsieur Qaisar at the reception, whose polite and helpful service made us feel especially welcome. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a charming and well-situated stay in the city.

Tips for Choosing the Best Hotel near the Panthéon

Selecting the perfect hotel in the Latin Quarter requires a nuanced understanding of the area’s geography and your personal travel needs. The historic architecture often means that room sizes and layouts vary significantly, even within the same category. By considering a few key factors before you book, you can ensure that the romantic charm of the 5th arrondissement translates into a comfortable and convenient stay rather than a logistical challenge.

Consider the Hill and Your Luggage
The Panthéon sits atop the Montagne Sainte-Geneviève, which means the surrounding streets can be steep. If you plan to walk to and from the Seine or St-Germain, be prepared for an uphill climb. If you are arriving with heavy luggage or have mobility concerns, choose a hotel located on the lower slopes or verify that your route from the nearest metro or taxi drop-off is relatively flat.

Check for Elevator Access
Many boutique hotels in this district are housed in protected, centuries-old buildings where space is at a premium. Consequently, some charming properties may not have an elevator, or their lifts may be extremely small. If you are traveling with large suitcases or prefer not to climb stairs, always confirm that the hotel offers a modern, functional elevator before finalizing your reservation.

Balance Street Noise with Atmosphere
The Latin Quarter is famous for its vibrant nightlife, particularly around Rue Mouffetard and the Place de la Contrescarpe. While a room facing the street offers excellent people-watching and atmosphere, it can be noisy until late. If you are a light sleeper, request a room on a higher floor, facing an interior courtyard, or ensure the hotel has high-quality double-glazed windows.

Look for Included Breakfast Value
While the neighborhood is packed with fantastic boulangeries and cafés, having breakfast included at your hotel can be a time-saving luxury. However, hotel breakfasts in Paris can sometimes be overpriced. Compare the cost of the hotel breakfast against the price of a coffee and croissant at a local terrace; sometimes, the authentic café experience is both cheaper and more atmospheric.

Verify the Exact Walking Distance to Transit
While the Panthéon is central, some streets are further from metro stations than they appear on a map. The Luxembourg RER (Line B) is excellent for airport transfers, while the Cardinal Lemoine and Place Monge stations serve Line 10. Determine whether your itinerary relies more on the RER for day trips or the metro for city sightseeing, and choose a hotel that minimizes your daily walking time to the correct station.

Understand the "Classic" Room Size
In historic Parisian buildings, "cozy" or "classic" rooms can be exceptionally small by international standards. If you require space to open two suitcases or prefer not to feel cramped, it is often worth paying a slight premium for a Superior or Deluxe room. Reading recent guest reviews with photos can give you a realistic expectation of the square footage you are booking.

The true magic of staying near the Panthéon lies in the early mornings and late evenings, when the day-trippers have dispersed and the neighborhood belongs to its residents. It is the quiet moment when the setting sun hits the limestone dome, or the sound of a piano drifting from an open window on a narrow side street. Choosing the right hotel allows you to linger in these moments without rushing back to a distant district.

Ultimately, your accommodation should serve as a comfortable sanctuary after a long day of navigating the city’s grand boulevards and intimate museums. By selecting a property that aligns with your physical needs and aesthetic preferences, you ensure that the intellectual spirit and historic grandeur of the Panthéon district become a seamless part of your Parisian story.
