12 Best Hotels near Sainte-Chapelle

Stepping into the shadow of Sainte-Chapelle’s soaring stained glass is a highlight of any trip to Paris, but finding the right base nearby can transform a good visit into a seamless one. The 1st arrondissement and the edges of the Latin Quarter are more than just a convenient postcode; they are the pulsing heart of the city’s medieval history. Staying here places you on the Île de la Cité, surrounded by the Seine, with the Conciergerie and Notre-Dame just a short stroll away.

The area surrounding this Gothic masterpiece is remarkably compact, making it a pedestrian’s dream. You can wake up, grab a coffee, and be at the chapel doors before the tour buses arrive. The streets here are a mix of quiet, historic lanes and bustling boulevards that connect you easily to the Marais, Saint-Germain-des-Prés, and the Louvre.

When selecting accommodation in this district, you are paying for the privilege of location as much as the thread count of the sheets. Hotels here range from intimate boutique hideaways tucked behind the Palais de Justice to grand, luxurious establishments with views of the river. The proximity to the Cité metro station also means that even if you stay slightly further afield, the chapel remains easily accessible.

However, the area can be busy, and the concept of "quiet" is relative in a city center. A room facing an interior courtyard will offer a vastly different experience than one overlooking the bustling Boulevard du Palais. Savvy travelers know that securing a room here requires balancing the desire for atmosphere with the need for a restful night’s sleep after a day of sightseeing.

Dining options around the island range from historic brasseries to trendy wine bars that spill out onto the cobblestones. You are never more than a few steps away from a buttery croissant or a late-night glass of Burgundy. This convenience is invaluable for those who want to maximize their time exploring rather than navigating the Metro late at night.

Because this is one of the most requested neighborhoods in Paris, availability fluctuates dramatically with the seasons. Booking a room near Sainte-Chapelle often requires planning months in advance, especially for spring and summer travel. The best properties balance historic charm with modern amenities, offering a sanctuary from the crowds that gather outside.

Whether you are a history buff, a first-time visitor, or a couple seeking a romantic getaway, the right hotel elevates the experience. To help you navigate the options, we have curated a list of the best places to stay, focusing on quality, service, and that unmistakable Parisian charm.

If you are from the US and know the travelodge or motel6 brand, this hotel is similar. The rooms are not sanitary. We got two rooms, one on Floor 6 and one on Floor7. There were ants in the room on Floor7. We told the front desk about it and they said they would clean it up and there were ants still everyday. So we couldn’t bring any food or drinks up to our room in case we’d get infested. On Floor6, the carpet hadn’t been vacuumed since the last person as there were toe nail clippings all over the carpet. There were mold issues in the rooms. My husband got hives from sleeping on the bed, unsure if that’s from bed bugs but possibly. Why stay here? If you are on a budget, need to get multiple rooms (we had 3) and staying for many days, then this makes sense. There was no hot water for showers the entire time. So hopefully you go in a heatwave. Some decent things- it’s safe, friendly staff, nice to get the breakfast included, close to many restaurants and sites, air conditioning was great, view of Eiffel Tower from the room. I recommend getting the deluxe suite, it was a decent size.

Don't let the 2 stars freighten you. This hotel is soo good. After a very inconvenient experience at the Ibis budget hotel, me and my friend had to find an immediate solution and book a new hotel. The only one within our price range and good accessibility was this one and let me tell you, we should have booked it first. We had to book it the same day of arrival so you can guess how stressful it all was, but as soon as we arrived in this hotel we were greeted by the amazing and nice guy at the reception. We loved every single detail especially since it brought us back in time with the beautiful elevator. The room(bathroom as well) and halls are small, but it's Paris so it's part of the experience. Everything was clean and new, the view was amazing, there was hot water, good Wi-Fi and the best part was the amazing location. Notre Dame is 10 minutes away on foot, there are many local restaurants and cafés nearby, markets open late in the night and many cute bookstores. If you want the best stay in Paris, then this is for you. When I come back in Paris again, this will be my choice 100%.😊

Affordable hotel in a fantastic location with everything you might need within walking distance on a safe and quiet street. The breakfast was surprisingly good with plenty of options and all the staff we encountered were very friendly and could communicate in English. Clean room, hot water and working AC. The room even had a French balcony with views of the Eiffel Tower in the distance which was a very nice surprise. Only complaint is that the room was very small, especially the bed which barely fit two people. Would definitely recommend this hotel if you’re looking for an affordable option in the 6th!

I recently stayed at this hotel for 4 nights, I loved the vintage vibe and what is great about it, is the location, you have everything near, and if not, you’re very close to the metro lines that take you directly to the wished places. Although it was a nice stay, in the last day I noticed a good amount of ants on the floor (mind you the floor is fully covered with a carpet), and that was not very nice, thankfully I didn’t notice on the first day otherwise I would go insane. Other then that everything else was nice, just inspect your room right from the start. The staff would clean the room everyday - not sure if they thoroughly cleaned it but we would always find everything nicely folded.

It's exactly what it says it is - A two star hotel. It's in a five star location however. The rooms are tired, clean, but the layout is funky. We had the double room but it requires climbing over my husband to get up from the bed. Forget about watching tv if you don't speak French, and you bump your head into it often. Every staff member we interacted with was fantastic. There is a tiny elevator but we are used to that in Spain so no big deal. We spent five nights, and for what we paid, I expected more, even if it's Paris.

We picked the Dauphine Saint Germain hotel based upon its location and reasonable price - so glad we made that choice! First, the hotel is in the heart of the Left Bank with the Louvre, Notre Dame, the Musée d'Orsay, Latin Quarter, and Luxembourge Garden all within a short walk. Saint Germain is a happening street, lively until the wee hours. Our clean room faced the courtyard, thus extremely quiet and peaceful. This was important to us after the chaos of the city. All members of the staff were kind and helpful. Example: We asked to check in very early (before noon). They couldn't promise, of course, yet our room was available when we arrived - outstanding! The hotel had a cozy bar which is open 24/7 where we could chat with other guests. We highly recommend this hotel.

Amazing stay in January at the Hotel Dauphine. Staff are attentive and available, competent and courteous. They were always available to answer questions. Rooms are clean and bathrooms recently remodeled. Breakfast is high quality and has some hot offerings which is rare for a smaller hotel. One of the best things about this hotel is the location. You can reach multiple museums and monuments on foot quickly. Neighborhood restaurants are historic and delicious. Great for people wanting to hit tourist attractions but also get some of the local shopping and cafe lifestyle.
Joanna Vasquez★★★★☆
We are so happy we booked this hotel. I was greeted by a lovely concierge who was extremely helpful upon arrival. My room was actually ready early morning and was given the opportunity to check in early! The small twin room was really cute and very in the style of Parisian decor, dark wood beams, exposed, beautiful blue, and white tapestries walls with a French country theme. It had a sitting desk that also housed the television and the teapot. Loved the little detail of the tea pot to make tea in the room, as well as the variety of teas provided. It also had a small wardrobe where I was able to hang up my coats which helped with the organization of the room since it was two of us splitting it. My cousin and I both loved how comfortable the bed was and the beautiful tub. I will say that if you are a person who struggles with stepping in and out of things, maybe the bathrooms aren’t for you, but we loved the tub. The bathroom also had a blow dryer, which was an awesome perk. We saw that they served breakfast every morning although we didn’t try it. It looked like a good mix of pastries, yogurts, fruits, and charcuterie. They do offer hotel guests, free coffee, and water throughout the day, which is another great perk. Also, the location was wonderful. We were about 20-30 minutes walking to many Paris notable places. The street the hotel sits on also has a good choice of restaurants and shops. Overall, I’m very content with this hotel.

I checked out today and went back and reviewed what I originally booked. A superior double. I am giving this two stars because our room did not match the photos online. The online pictures had far bigger windows and a larger desk and a larger bathroom. There are a few things that come with an older hotel that is just how it is, not affecting my review: you can hear all intimate details from your neighbors, the shower, and room was small, things a little older. The shower temperature was unable to hold a steady temp and would jump between cold and hot. But for $350 a night there are a few things that could improve the experience for guests. The mattress was cheap and sagged. The pillows were well past their prime, flat and uncomfortable. The shower head was so small it would only get part of you wet, high efficiency larger shower heads is a simple swap. The towels were cheap and scratchy. In the shower itself it was a 3x3 stall with a cheap curtain, it only had a body wash/shampoo combination in a single bottle, no conditioner, no body lotion. I did not raise my concerns with the front desk because these issues are for the managers to solve, not the desk. I liked the location, but would not stay here again.
Savitri Wilder★★★★★
My little Yorkie and myself had a wonderful stay at this hotel. I was travelling solo and the room was more than enough for us. I was on the first floor with view to another building, which was fine because it meant quietness. The room and bathroom was very clean, there is a small refrigerator and also a tea/coffee making station. The hotel is very close to a metro station and different cafes and restaurants. The street stays busy until late and as a solo female traveller, this is a plus. But in general, it’s a nice safe area where you can use public transport or walk to many sites. I would stay here again if in Paris.

I had a very pleasant stay at Hotel Du Mont Blanc Paris. The location is absolutely fantastic. The hotel is just a short walk from the iconic Notre-Dame Cathedral, making it an excellent base for exploring the city. The surrounding neighborhood is vibrant and full of great restaurants, cafés, and places to enjoy authentic Parisian atmosphere. Transportation is another major advantage. Both the Metro and RER stations are nearby, making it easy to reach all parts of Paris as well as destinations outside the city center. The beautiful Seine River is also just around the corner, perfect for evening walks and sightseeing. Overall, the hotel's greatest strength is its outstanding location. If you want to stay in the heart of Paris with excellent access to public transport, famous landmarks, restaurants, and the Seine, Hotel Du Mont Blanc is a great choice.
Joe Harding★★★★★
This is a great hotel! Walking distance to many major attractions, and very close to metro & RER stations. It has a small, "belle epoque" style elevator, (which is rare for this area). The rooms are cozy, with everything you need for a week long stay. This hotel also has a restaurant on the ground floor. Highly recommend.

I loved the location and the price, some of the staff was really nice and some of the staff almost seemed annoyed when I went by. The bed and pillows was really uncomfortable and the bathroom had a broken toilet. It was also some white powder (from ceiling?) in the bathtub when i took my first shower... I was also really annoyed/disappointed about not being able to bring food in the room (although I didn't ask if that included snacks). I am not sure I will stay here again. But it was a cheap hotel with a good location at least.
Mari★★★★☆
The best about this place is location and it doesn't come without issues. All the reviews about rooms being noisy are quite true, as hotel is located in the one of the most touristic area of Paris. That's sort of expexted. But if windows could've been just a bit better made, it wouldn't have been such a problem (you can press on a window frame with the hand and it instantly goes quiter). Otherwise very basic and old, but functional room for 2. Bathroom is ridiculously tiny with shower curtain literally sticking to you as you take shower. But if you're ok with that and not a sensitive sleeper, it should be no issue at all. Overall, it's pretty much what we expected from hotel for such money in such place.

This Hotel was a lovely surprise. I arrived in knowing the central location was fantastic. I was greeted by fantastic Reception staff who had me in my room and organised quickly and were able to give me some great local tips. My room was spacious and the kitchenette was unexpected and greatly appreciated. Refrigerator, microwave, stovetop, and dishwasher all included. This helped to keep costs down. The coffee machine was received with joy -yay! They have a hot drinks station downstairs, two different lounge areas, a breakfast room (I opted for no breakfast - I had the kitchen), luggage storage, and they even were giving everyone ice cones on one morning when it was quite hot. The St Germain restaurant precinct is right behind it and you are spoilt for choice of wonderful cafes and restaurants. Pont de Neuf was a 2 minute walk as was the Louvre. I'd 100% stay here again. Fabulous in every way.

We had an outstanding stay at Citadines Saint-Germain-des-Prés Paris in early January 2026. The front desk staff handled a booking complication with professionalism, kindness, and efficiency, ensuring our comfort and a seamless stay in one room for the duration of our visit. We were especially impressed by the hotel’s integrity and professionalism when a family member accidentally left an important bag behind after checkout. The staff quickly secured the item and returned it to us after proper identification, with all contents intact. Exceptional service, prime location, thoughtful amenities, and a truly dedicated team. Highly recommended.

Absolutely not worth €400 per night. The air conditioning barely worked. The room was like a sauna during the day and remained unbearably hot at night, making it impossible to sleep. The front desk acknowledged the issue but could only offer a fan, which simply blew hot air around the room and solved nothing. Both of us felt physically unwell because of it. The bathroom was also unacceptable. The shower head was broken and sprayed water everywhere, making it impossible to shower properly. On top of that, the room layout was terrible. A large wall partition blocked the walking space, so once we opened our luggage, there was hardly any room to move. We reported these problems multiple times, but the hotel failed to provide any effective solution. Paying €400 per night for such poor facilities and service is completely unacceptable. I would not recommend this hotel.
Rochelle Rielly★★★★★
Outstanding accommodation! The staff were really helpful. The location was awesome. There were lots of extras - a laundry, water cooler with sparkling water, ice creams one day! Air con worked fine. We were able to put our push-bikes in our room

I booked two nights at this hotel but left after only one night because the room was not acceptable. The reception itself was okay, but the check-in experience was made uncomfortable by a man in the lobby who repeatedly tried to convince me to join the hotel’s loyalty programme. He kept pressing the point even after I had clearly indicated I was not interested. The main problem was the room. There was a noticeable smell of mould, the carpet felt dirty and unpleasant, and I did not feel comfortable taking my shoes off at any point. The furniture was very worn, and there were signs of poor maintenance, including bubbling paint. The air conditioning also did not work, which made the room hot and uncomfortable. Breakfast was also disappointing. I did not find it to be a good experience and chose to go to a nearby café instead. After one night, I decided I could not stay for the second night and booked another hotel. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I would not recommend this hotel.

Perfect location and price. The front desk attendees Jamal and Matthias were so very helpful and kind which added the perfect touch to our trip. We dropped a glass in our bathroom and Jamal personally swept it up and made sure we were safe. He even gave us slippers just in case and checked in with us the next morning. Matthias was super helpful with our check in and flagging us a taxi. It was 5 star service and we were very happy to have piping cold ac during the heat wave.

If you're looking for a clean, safe and central located hotel, this is the place. It's a 50m walk to the closest metro station, within 10 min of five of the major tourist spots in Paris. The only thing we had to travel to was the Eiffel tower and the Arc de Triomphe via train so our stay was exquisite. We stayed in the top floor suite which was absolutely worth the cost. AC was functional if not the strongest and the jets in the tub didn't work but other than that our stay was excellent. I would highly recommend staying here, the staff was extremely pleasant, helpful and attentive. Thank you for a wonderful experience.
Kevin L★★★★☆
Location of this hotel is excellent for touring Paris. However it is located in a busy area of the Latin Quarter and the noise from the cafes below is clearly heard in the room. Windows are old and not soundproofed. Bring earplugs. Bathtub in our room was relatively deep, a handrail would be appreciated for safety purposes. Front desk staff did their best to solve and account for problems with check in (rooms not ready) and broken air conditioning.
Ann M★★☆☆☆
Pictures online are very deceiving compared to the room we actually got. Our bed was about two feet from the sink and shower. There was no dividing wall. Luckily the toilet had its own private space. Cleanliness is terrible as there was dust on a lot of tables. I ended up wiping everything down on my own, including the floor. Our shower looked like it had mold too. The reception area was full of clutter - boxes and boxes stacked on the table behind the desk. It was a very tight space for checking in with other people. Although the location is great, I would not recommend this hotel for the price I paid.
norman bowles★★★★★
While this might be a 3 star hotel, we had a 5 star experience. I booked the "superior" room with balcony as a birthday surprise for my wife. And it was perfect! We were on the 5th floor and looked down on the plaza below which was busy with activity each night, and several nights we enjoyed cheese, susauge, bread and wine while watching the activity below. The room was clean, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed their buffet breakfast several of the days we stayed there. The location of this hotel couldn't be any better. It is literally two minutes to the Metro, and 20 minutes to the Louvre. Notre Dame, Saint Chapelle and the Conciergerie are even closer. A dozen restaurants are reachable within a three minute walk. We loved this place and definitely would stay here again.

This my first time in Paris, so I cannot compare this hotel with others. I chose this one because the location is perfect! All the main attractions are close, and there are many nice restaurants nearby. We walked everywhere and did not use public transport. The staff were very kind and friendly. I felt very welcome. The hotel is small and cozy, but the building is old. The stairs are small, and the rooms are also small. The furniture and the bathroom are old, there not enough power sockets in the room, so it is better to bring an adapter. But we only came back to sleep, so it was not a big problem. The location and the friendly staff made our stay very nice!I would stay here again because the location and service is excellent.

We booked for 4 nights. ✅ BIG PLUS: Hot water boiler, friendly staff, great location, they’re RENOVATING the hotel rooms. ❌ BIG MINUS: VERY very NOISY from the streets even with ear plugs, dusty corners in the room, old bathroom, stains on bed cover, dirty old narrow staircase, every night people/drunks were peeing and pooping on the broadway in front of our window. 🥐 Breakfast 8,50€ for 1 croissant, 1 piece of baguette, Jam & Nutella & Butter in Small plastic boxes, 1 coffee, 1 juice. ➡️ PRICE/VALUE for a 2-star hotel and the location is okay. I wouldn’t book it again because it was so noisy from the streets, I had a bad night sleep even with ear plugs.
Kyle Johnson★★★★★
The Hotel Flor Rivoli is an absolutely charming find in the heart of Paris, perfectly balancing value and access, making it an excellent base for exploring the city. The location is its strongest asset—truly unbeatable. Situated right near the Louvre and key metro stops, stepping outside puts you instantly in the middle of Parisian life and within walking distance of many major sights. The service was equally impressive; the staff were incredibly kind, welcoming, and always ready with helpful local advice, making us feel right at home. Considering the prime area, the cost was surprisingly reasonable, offering fantastic value for the location. The only minor points to note are related to its central position. The room, while impeccably clean and charmingly decorated, was on the small side, as is common in historic Parisian buildings. Due to being right on the street, it was also a little noisy at night, but that’s the trade-off for being in the very center of the action. Overall, the superb location, great service, and excellent price point make Hotel Flor Rivoli a highly recommended choice for travelers prioritizing access and value.

Incredible location! Not too heavy, but nive breakfast. Clean rooms. I would go here again. Just the location alone is worth a lot.

The hotel is in a fantastic location, close to the subway. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and tidy, and the bed was very comfortable. Unfortunately, the window could not be opened, which would have been nice for ventilation, as there was a smell of water leak(like a foot odor) in the room. The carpet should be replaced and a wall socket should be installed next to the bed on the left.

One of the rare few perfect hotel stays I have had! Everything about this hotel is fantastic. Our room was a loft with two bedrooms, and it was the perfect size for the 3 of us. My daughter enjoyed her little twin bend in the alcove. I also made use of the day bed downstairs in the common area. Like everything else in Paris, the room was compact but very efficient and had all the necessary amenities. Staff was exemplary, no false notes. Special thanks to Kamal at the bar for his fantastic cocktails and Lakshman & Reschad at the door / lobby who were always so warm, gracious and helpful, no matter what the need. The entire front desk staff and concierge were very professional, kind and courteous throughout the week, and housekeeping left the room immaculate each day with nice little touches at turndown service whether it be little chocolates or fruits. The location, in the heart of the bustling 6th district, can't be beat, but you're also in the quiet and peaceful confines inside the hotel. We were a 15 min walk from the Louvre, the Orsay, and the Luxembourg gardens to name a few. Restaurants within and adjacent the 6th district were generally very good, lots of different options to choose from each day. Highly recommend this hotel for your stay, as a couple or small family, you won't be disappointed. I would give this hotel 6 stars if I could, it's one of the very best we've experienced in Europe.

Exceptional hotel in the heart of St Germain. Fantastic service. Has great amenities as well: pool, gym, sauna, steam room. Breakfast is high quality and nutritious. We had one of those duplex rooms on the 5th floor (50x), and it is a really nice setup . The bed is upstairs, allowing for the bathroom and seating area downstairs. Spacious and also very comfortable. They have live jazz every night. Also, if you stay a certain number of nights, they give you tickets for various museums and events. Service is top notch. Will return.

Bad experience!!! The day i check out, i asked the reception if i can check out at 13:00. He said he need to talk to the housekeeping and he returned telling me i could stay to 14:00. I was very happy. However at 13:05, a call was made to my room and a woman’s voice asked me to check out immediately, and even when I said I will do my fastest she couldn’t let me go, so I said thank you goodbye to put on my clothes and get out of the room at my fastest. The worst part of my experience is that she talked to me like a police talking to a criminal. I told them when I was checking out that their salaries come from us, the clients. And I remind them that the difference of a 5 star hotel is that clients feel being respected. I respected them to ask for checking out later, and they have different messages from one colleague to another, that is their problem. and even they have difficulties or problem, they have to say sorry they can’t give me more time and ask my cooperation and understanding. Instead of giving me a verbal and attitude violence to destroy my experience of stay and their hotel image.
Stephanie P.★★☆☆☆
The hotel has great amenities but the room falls short of what you’d expect in a 5-star hotel. The sink stopper in the bathroom didn’t work properly and the A/C next to the bed made a loud groaning noise every minute on the dot. It was brought to staff’s attention and unresolved.

The Hôtel d'Aubusson exceeded our expectations in every way. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed by the staff, who were knowledgeable and helpful throughout our stay. The elegant atmosphere and historic charm of the hotel truly made our holiday getaway unforgettable. Excellent service at the restaurant, where we enjoyed a delicious breakfast every morning. Our room was beautifully decorated, with a comfortable bed and a lovely view of the city. The spa was amazing - perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring Paris.

Great place. First of all, it's very clean, cozy, has good air conditioning, and is quiet inside with no noise from the street. Second, the water pressure and quality are excellent. The hotel staff is also very nice and polite! 💖 The location is perfect: you can easily reach the most popular landmarks either on foot or by metro which is just a 3-minute walk away. It was super easy to visit Notre-Dame and Sainte-Chapelle in the morning, or take a walk to the Eiffel Tower through the streets and return along the Seine.

Loved it. Booked a room with balcony to celebrate our wedding anniversary & ordered a bottle of champagne. That was on the bed with rose petals when we arrived & was lovely.all staff were really nice. Had breakfast in the room on our balcony the next morning and was copious. Location great also

Beautiful rustic historical hotel. Still kept its character and charming past. I would recommend this to family and friends. If you can, get the 5th floor room with the tiny balcony, but usable. Decorative, make you fell like your really in France. Wifi was fast, felt like 5g. Yes, all the front desk staffs speak English, better than most American! They were soo nice and friendly; real friendly not the fake friendly you get at the airlines counter. Location is perfect, close to the RBR, metro, river boat taxi, walking distance to all the attractions and night life. My 1st time in Paris, Love it ! I was here in March, the slow season, not too many tourists, weather sunny all week. I was lucky people said. Bonjour !

A Wonderful First Stay in Paris — Highly Recommend Hôtel Britannique! We recently stayed at Hôtel Britannique during our first-ever trip to Paris, and it made the experience truly special. The room was comfortable and well-appointed, and the location couldn't have been better — just minutes on foot from major tourist attractions and the metro, making it incredibly easy to explore the city. What really set this hotel apart, though, was the staff. Nicole, Sultana, Adelina, and Léon were all wonderful — warm, attentive, and genuinely helpful throughout our stay. A special thank you to Sultana, who went above and beyond when my wife wasn't feeling well and arranged a late check-out for us without hesitation. That kind of thoughtfulness made a real difference during a stressful moment and turned it into a non-issue. Between the prime location, comfortable rooms, and exceptional service, this was the perfect base for our first Paris adventure. We're already looking forward to staying at Hôtel Britannique again on our next visit!

My husband & I celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary last week & stayed at the Hotel Cluny Square June 1-9, 2026. Everything about our stay was perfect! Front desk staff was friendly & knowledgeable, breakfasts were superb & included with our stay, location was excellent & we were able to walk to the museums, Eiffel Tower, gardens, etc., our room was very clean with superb housekeeping services & we turned on the a/c only at night to keep out the street noise, which was the right thing to do for us. We would definitely stay here again.

Clean room. Okay staff. Perfect location close to Notre Dame, the Metro and the most hip part of Paris. This is perfect, if you want a bed, breakfast and best location for you money.

By far one of the loveliest hotels we have stayed at! We absolutely loved our stay here and can’t recommend it enough. The location is perfect, the staff is lovely and the rooms are very clean and comfortable. My husband surprised me for my birthday with the VIP package it included champagne, chocolates and roses waiting in our room when we arrived and it was wonderful. It was our first time in France and seeing that with the stunning wrap around balcony actually brought me to tears. Book this hotel!! You will not regret it.

A very pleasant stay! We arrived in Paris early and the owner was very kind in allowing my wife and I to check in early. The room was clean with a beautiful balcony, the bed was comfortable, and the hotel is very centrally located for traveling anywhere in Paris or beyond. Due to its very close proximity to both Metro and RER stations. As some other reviews noted the rooms are a bit small, but nothing out of the ordinary. Overall we had a wonderful stay and would stay again!

Very good location, no elevator from ground floor to 1st floor.so have to carry your luggage upstair by yourselves but that not a big deal for me 🙂

We saw some mixed reviews but decided to try the hotel based on location. We were incredibly satisfied. Very friendly personnel. AC worked great during a heat wave. The street is incredibly calm. There is real wood flooring in the rooms vs plastic in most hotels. Rooms were comfortable and in good condition. Will definitely stay here again. Merci!!

Some annoyances with this hotel but overall it was good. Let me explain: It’s apparent it’s mold in the bathroom, windows etc. but nothing THAT noticeable. Location is really amazing - safe area, close to mall (Westfield), housekeeping every day which was nice. The breakfast area is SUPER small, would recommend not eating your breakfast here. Save ur money. If you want a view maybe ask for it (we got a nice one look at the picture), we got 4 room in total and only one of them got a nice view (everyone else just stated into a wall). AC is also perfect during the heat. I would recommend to stay but it’s not super luxurious but location is key.

★★★★★ Had a very pleasant stay at Hôtel Andréa in the Le Marais district. The location is excellent, with easy access to major attractions, cafés, shops, and public transport, making it a perfect base for exploring Paris. The room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained, with a cozy atmosphere that made the stay enjoyable. The staff were courteous, welcoming, and helpful throughout, and the overall service was smooth and professional. I especially appreciated the charm of the neighborhood, the convenience of the location, and the comfortable stay experience. Overall, a very satisfying visit and a great choice for anyone looking to stay in the Marais area. Highly recommended.

Great location and price! The hotel is tucked away in a quieter street but really close to all the shops and landmarks. 15 minute walk from Louvre / Notre Dame but it doesn’t feel very touristy in this area. The only downside was that the bathroom was kind of moldy. We didn’t have a chance to tell the staff during our stay though but I’m sure they would have been happy to change our rooms / deal with it.

The room were super dirty (stained sheets, dusty floors, mold in the showers, etc) and there was no air conditioning. Front desk controls heat/cooling for each room and we stayed for 4 nights and each night there was a different reason for not turning on the A/C: some days it was broken, some days they would “turn it on in a second” (they did not), so on and so forth until one day someone was honest with us and said that bc of the air system they had installed they could only either heat or cool the entire building. This is understandable but the lack of honesty when communicating the issue was a poor choice. I see from the reviews I’m not the only one with these complaints, maybe a simple solution would be providing a fan in each room for some circulation. Our room was facing the elevator shaft so even opening the window didn’t allow for any air flow, and our trip was definitely dampened by our 4 nights of poor sleep. With summer approaching I would recommend staying elsewhere.

I love this hotel with unbeatable location and extremely rare old 17th century house. You are transported back in time with modern amenities inside the room. I experienced a royal suite and a single room looking into the coutyard. Both were enchanting. The breakfeast is offered at 10 € but if you like it you can add more, which I did because it was high quality and truly French in an interesting room. The hotel is managed, should I say hosted, by the lovely Francisco, who has an amazing conversation at any level you wish -from philososphy to poetry to sociology to animal love. His welcome is extremely warm and extra requests always supported. He is a kinder staff you cannot find anywhere else, in contrast to another woman who was there sometimes and not so welcoming.

You will be in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the Latin Quarter. The hotel staff are incredibly nice! The rooms are clean with modern bathrooms with excellent water pressure! If you are looking for a room with a TV, fridge, gym, in room bars- probably not for you. Want to stay literally across the street from Notre Dame and walk around in the middle of Latin Quarter, then it's a winner!!!

This must be one of the most authentic hotels we’ve ever stayed in. Its beautiful interior, with many original features, sits just across the street from Notre Dame and right next to the Shakespeare and Company bookstore, transporting you to the Paris of the 17th century. Our room was comfortable, offering a view of the Cathedral and easy access to walk along the river to the Eiffel Tower, the Champs-Élysées, the Louvre, and more. Just around the corner, you’ll find the best creperie ever—perfect for enjoying a wonderful meal while watching the lively, chaotic rhythm of Parisian traffic.

This hotel is beautiful. The staff are wonderful and the service is impeccable. There are books and art everywhere. It's very safe. Serge Gainsbourg stayed here. I understand why. It's simply my favourite hotel in Paris. Humble and not pretentious. Safe and secure. Classy and arty.
Christina Yianni★★★★☆
I just wanted to say that I really loved the hotel! It was well located and certainly had lots of character and charm. The only thing that really did concern me greatly was the fire escape. I was on the top floor and would have to put a lever down to open a ladder to the roof. I can imagine that if the wooden stair did catch alight, and this exit was needed, I would find it really hard to use, especially in an alarmed state. That's my only concern but did feel that it was a big one as potentially compromised the safety of my family. I loved everything else about it, including the staff.

This is a 3 star hotel, and I think it stops at that. All the listings in Expedia show their very best room (naturally) with big windows and great views. Things are different when you get there, our room wasn’t much bigger than a walk-in closet. The bathroom was built into the room with 1 inch thick plywood at best and a dinky sliding door that wouldn’t stay shut. Where this place shines is the location, which is beyond prime. You literally see notre dame from the window and are staying on the very same block - I would stay there again just for that reason. The room was clean, staff was nice, but it was no luxury hotel.

Cozy, rustic, and classic with an urban twist. This 400+ year old building is nestled in the heart of Paris and has all the quirks and comforts of a city hotel. Everything we wanted was within walking distance and it was a great base for our hop on hop off tours. Each themed room had classial painting prints on the walls, the floors had cobblestone patterned carpets and even the faucets had knots from the 1920's. Everywhere you went there was a breathtaking view of Paris, and of course, Notre Dame. We paid for a cathedral view and was not disappointed!! Wow! The continental breakfast of pastries (croissants), tea and coffee were straight out of a travel brochure, and the staff were the heroes of our entire experience. Friendly to foreigners with patience for English speaking guests. Courteous and always smiling. Staffed 24hrs a day. The only downside (if I had to say anything) was the ongoing traffic noise and sirens from the proximity to downtown. We understood this going in and the windows do a fair job of muting most of it. Also, the walls are thin so we could hear movements in the other rooms and downstairs. Nothing so bad it would take off a star, just a polite heads up to future guests so you can manage expectations.
Jerry Geng★★★☆☆
The hotel has a very convenient location, with both Metro and RER stations nearby, making it easy to get around Paris. The staff members were also very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. However, there are several practical issues worth noting. The reception is located on the first floor, and there is no elevator from the ground floor to reach it, only stairs. This could be inconvenient if you are traveling with large luggage or require accessible access. In our case, the bathroom was a major drawback. Our toilet does NOT have a DOOR, and the chain door lock on the main door was also broken. I’m not sure if this applies to all rooms, but it genuinely affected our experience. Another point to be aware of is that you are required to leave your room key at reception whenever you leave the hotel. Overall, while the location and staff are definite positives, the room design and accessibility issues may not suit all travelers.

We had a fantastic stay here and would happily return. The location really couldn’t be better — right beside Notre Dame Cathedral and in the heart of the Latin Quarter, which made exploring Paris on foot incredibly easy and enjoyable. What really stood out, though, was the staff. Everyone we interacted with was genuinely friendly, welcoming, and helpful, which made the stay feel relaxed and personal rather than transactional. A lovely bonus is the beautiful café next door. My wife is coeliac, and we were delighted to find a great range of gluten-free pastries available — something that can be surprisingly hard to come by when travelling. It made our mornings that much better. Overall, a great place to stay with a brilliant location, warm hospitality, and thoughtful touches. We would absolutely stay here again.
John Hunsley★★★☆☆
An amazing location with great views on Notre Dame, which also means rather noisy at night. That was to be expected. What wasn't expected was having hotel staff enter our room without knocking around 11:00 pm. Despite apologies and claims it was a computer error, we were not given an explanation for why staff would enter our room at night and the hotel did not contact us to follow up. As a result, we can't recommend staying here.

Essential Tips for Choosing a Hotel Near Sainte-Chapelle

Finding the perfect room in the heart of Paris requires a bit more strategy than simply picking a star rating. The geography of the island and the unique character of the surrounding streets mean that two hotels a block apart can offer wildly different experiences. By focusing on a few key logistical details, you can ensure your stay is as magical as the chapel’s rose window. Here are five essential tips to guide your booking decision.

Prioritize Soundproofing and Courtyard Views
The area around Sainte-Chapelle is vibrant, but that vibrancy comes with street noise, particularly from delivery vehicles in the early morning and revelers at night. When reading reviews, pay close attention to mentions of sound insulation. A room facing an interior courtyard or a pedestrian-only street will be significantly quieter than one facing the Quai or the Boulevard du Palais.

Consider the "Island" Versus the "Left Bank"
Staying directly on the Île de la Cité puts you steps from the chapel, but the island can feel eerily quiet after the day-trippers leave and the law courts close. Staying just across the bridge in the Latin Quarter (5th arrondissement) offers a livelier evening atmosphere with more late-night dining options, while still being only a five-minute walk to the monument.

Check for Elevator Access
Many boutique hotels in this historic district are housed in buildings that date back centuries. While their character is unmatched, some have narrow staircases and lack modern elevators. If you are traveling with heavy luggage or have mobility concerns, verify that the property has a lift, and check the size of the rooms, as historic buildings often have smaller footprints.

Leverage the Cité Metro Station
While walking is the primary mode of transport here, the Cité station (Line 4) is uniquely located right on the island. If you find a hotel slightly further away but still on Line 4, you can reach Sainte-Chapelle in minutes. This expands your search to more affordable neighborhoods without sacrificing convenience.

Book Tickets in Advance, Not Just Rooms
Your hotel can often assist with local reservations, but Sainte-Chapelle tickets are strictly timed and sell out during peak season. Once your hotel is secured, purchase your chapel entry for the first slot of the morning. Staying nearby allows you to be at the front of the security line before the crowds, granting you a rare moment of quiet inside the upper chapel.

Choosing to stay near Sainte-Chapelle is an investment in the atmosphere of medieval Paris. The convenience of stepping out of your hotel and immediately being surrounded by the Seine, the flower markets, and the gothic architecture is an experience that a taxi ride simply cannot replicate. By selecting a property that matches your need for comfort and quiet, you turn a simple hotel room into a part of the travel memory itself.

As you wind down your evenings on the island, you will find that the crowds dissipate, leaving the narrow streets to the soft glow of street lamps and the gentle sound of the river. It is in these quiet moments that the true value of staying in the historic center becomes clear. You are not just visiting the history of Paris; for a few nights, you are living within it.
