Finding a genuinely good meal in one of the most touristic districts of Paris can be a challenge. The area surrounding the Palais Garnier is filled with beautiful architecture and high-end shopping, but it is also known for overpriced tourist traps. For Muslim diners or those who simply prefer high-quality halal meat, the search requires an extra layer of diligence.
The good news is that the culinary landscape has evolved significantly. A new generation of restaurateurs has brought authentic, high-quality halal cuisine to the heart of the 9th and 2nd arrondissements. You no longer have to sacrifice ambiance or flavor to adhere to dietary requirements.
Whether you are catching a ballet at the Opera House, shopping on Boulevard Haussmann, or simply exploring the Grands Boulevards, you have excellent options nearby. From fine dining French fusion to casual street food, the area offers a diverse range of flavors.
To ensure quality and authenticity, we have curated a list based on reputation, ingredient sourcing, and consistency. These establishments are known for their commitment to halal standards, though it is always wise to confirm current certifications upon arrival, as restaurant policies can change.
Here are ten standout halal restaurants located within walking distance or a short metro ride from the Palais Garnier.

Such a good experience. Friendly attentive staff, very good food, in a very casual environment.
For Americans, this would be considered a great fast-casual place. My wife and I even said how well the concept would work in the US. You sit down, they take your order, drinks come out two minutes later, food comes out 10 minutes later, everything tastes good.
By far our cheapest meal in Paris. If you're tired and just want good food without all the nuance of a Parisian cafe or brasserie, eat here. Highly recommended.

Amazing lunch spot...great service and even better food! The kids loved their meals. Monday thru Thursday offers a lunch deal with hangar steak, pomme frites, and a beer. Tres bien!

Spent some quality time with my family for lunch. The meat is well cooked and tender. Staffs were really friendly and receptive. The place could be little bit noisy, but the overall atmosphere is very welcoming and comfortable.

A fun, colorful, and casual protein joint in the middle of town. The location was great and easy to find. The food came out real fast.
The portion was good and priced very reasonably. The meat was ok as well.
Service - efficient.

the concept is great, you eat with the clip. the service is good. but some of the beef are not cut thoroughly, they are still connect with each other, and it's very hard to separate with the clip. also I hope the beef can be cut into smaller pieces.

A fantastic spot with amazing flavor—loved the lamb and the unique Middle Eastern twist on the Caesar salad! (4.5 Stars)
We stopped by Los Brothers and had an absolute treat of a meal! The grilled meats and fresh salads here really stand out from your typical fast-casual spot.
The Lamb Skewers: Cooked to perfection—tender, full of rich flavor, and beautifully seasoned. If you enjoy authentic, well-spiced grilled lamb, this is a must-order.
The Caesar Salad (Priya’s absolute favorite!): Usually, we find standard European or original Caesar salads a bit plain or overly heavy, but Los Brothers does an incredible Middle Eastern/spiced take on it. Packed with flavorful chicken and fresh toppings, it completely elevated the dish. It was easily the star of the table!
The Bulgur Wheat: A brilliant side option instead of heavy starches—warm, comforting, and wonderfully seasoned.
Minor feedback: The only real downside was the french fries, which turned out a bit too oily and soggy for our taste, so we ended up leaving most of them behind.
That small point aside, everything else was a solid 4.5/5 stars. Great food, generous portions, and wonderful flavors. We will definitely be back when we want a high-protein, flavorful bite in Paris!

Avoid this place at all cost the food was absolutely appalling disgusting chips tasted like a strange flavour from the oil that I couldn't even understand. The onions tasted foul and off. The staff were so so so so rude including the guy almost sweating directly on to the food. the food speaks for itself truly truly disgusting. Avoid this at all costs go across the road. This place needs learn how to speak to customers and deliver decent food. clean your oil fry the chips smile and take the money.
It smells off!! I am so angry i paid for this

We went to Los Brothers for our last dinner in Paris, and wow — what a way to end the trip.
The place was absolutely buzzing. People were constantly coming and going, and it was clear this spot is popular for a reason. Even with how busy they were, the service was top notch. The staff stayed on top of everything, made sure we had what we needed, and kept things moving without ever making us feel rushed.
We ordered the platter to share, and it was so good. Everything was flavorful, fresh, and perfectly cooked. It’s one of those meals where you keep saying, “You have to try this,” back and forth across the table. Every bite delivered.
One of the best parts? Everything is halal, which made it an easy and comfortable choice for us.
Huge thank you to the team at Los Brothers for such a great experience. Keep killing it — we’ll definitely be back next time we’re in Paris!

From the moment we arrived at Amazonia, we knew we were in for something special. The entire experience was simply mind-blowing. Every dish that arrived at our table was a masterpiece, beautifully presented, bursting with flavour, and cooked to perfection. The attention to detail was exceptional. Hats off to the talented chef and the owner for creating such an unforgettable dining experience.
As a halal restaurant, Amazonia exceeded every expectation. The menu is outstanding, and their non-alcoholic cocktails are some of the best we’ve ever tasted, creative, refreshing, and the perfect complement to the food.
What truly set this restaurant apart was the impeccable service. Duniya looked after us throughout the evening with genuine warmth, professionalism, and care. After every course, fresh napkins and new cutlery were provided before the next dish was served, a level of attention to detail that you rarely experience, even in many fine dining establishments. It made us feel incredibly well looked after.
The atmosphere is elegant, vibrant, and luxurious, making it the perfect place for a special occasion or simply to enjoy an extraordinary meal. I am still mesmerised by the entire experience and can’t stop thinking about the incredible food, outstanding hospitality, and beautiful ambience.
Without a doubt, this is one of the finest halal dining experiences we’ve ever had in Paris. We will definitely be returning and recommending Amazonia to everyone we know. A well-deserved 5 stars!

The food in the place is amazing, very tasty and delicious. It is very much on the level of a high end place.
Service was equally great and food came out to us quickly. We barely waited 5-10 mins.
On the other hand The atmosphere, although good overall, is not on the fancy, 60€ per plate level. There were no printed menus and tables were a bit small. It is more suitable for a 20-30€ restaurant rather than a "fancy" place.

A great place to eat if you're in the 8th. Fresh products, excellent service. Just a stone's throw from the Champs Elysées. Don’t hesitate.

I had an exceptional experience at the restaurant, mainly due to Pierre's outstanding customer service. The ambience was inviting, creating the perfect setting for a romantic dinner. The cocktails were fantastic; I requested a very sour cocktail, and the bartender expertly crafted a drink bursting with flavour.
The food was nothing short of phenomenal. The filet mignon was tender and perfectly cooked, while the octopus salad offered a delightful medley of textures and flavours that made each bite memorable. The ceviche was refreshingly zesty, showcasing the freshness of the ingredients.
Overall, the serene and intimate atmosphere made it an ideal spot for a special evening. It truly was a lovely experience that I forget.

It was my first time trying Indian food, and it was a great experience overall. The staff were very kind and welcoming, and the restaurant had a clean and pleasant atmosphere.
We ordered naan and tandoori lamb as starters — they were good, though not exceptional. For the main courses, we had the butter chicken and butter shrimp, and they were absolutely amazing. The sauce was incredibly flavorful and delicious.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant and would happily come back again!

I was shopping in the area when I stumbled upon this place and since I love desi food I decided to try it out. I was not disappointed! I loved the butter chicken and garlic naan (pictured) and had the gulab jamun for dessert. The staff is so kind and gave me one on the house! Amazing food and amazing service, I highly recommend.

Two very special experiences we had in this restaurant- Foremost The Food: It was wonderful to say the least. My uncle and aunt visiting from India mentioned that this was better than what they had there ! Secondly The Service: It was warm and welcoming. The staff’s hospitality was marvellous, they frequently checked on us if everything was fine and need anything.
This wonderful experience was topped when they offered us a sweet on the house !
Truly magnificent. Thank you Mr. Sandhu Charan Jit 🙂

Honestly one of the best places I’ve been to. Their food is authentically French and halal too. Honestly, one of the best places in Paris. The service is impeccable. Our server Anees was excellent - he was extremely attentive, made excellent suggestions, and was constantly checking in. It’s also quite busy well into the night. The French onion soup is particularly amazing, but everything on the menu deserves a try. Would definitely come back here.

A very authentic and comforting French dinner tonight in Paris. The fish soup had a rich fish flavour and felt very traditional. The Escalope Normande was tender, with a creamy mushroom Normandy sauce that had a slightly sour tang, making it feel genuinely French and rustic. They also served a complimentary tuna toast, which was a lovely surprise. The portions were very generous and the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. I wanted to order dessert too, but I was simply too full by the end!
Mimi★★★★★
The duck tasted better than any duck I’ve ever had. The French onion soup, duck, potatoes, and crème brûlée rounded out our meal and all were delicious. The chicken Normandy portion looked small but was more than enough.
dramanimegeek★★★★★
Great staffs and restaurant atmosphere. Ordered the duck confit, onion soup and creme brulee, everything was delicious. The serving could take some time to get to your table, but definitely worth it. The duck are so soft, the meat falling off the bones, french onion soup also very tasty that we keep munching it with the bread served.
Located near to Gallerie Lafayette Haussman which you can enjoy Paris Eiffel Tower, very well located. I recommend for those who wish to enjoy Halal French cuisines.

We showed up around their debut day. For an upstart restaurant id say its on a strong start. I liked the food and the people running the restaurant were wonderful, welcoming, and considerate. Food was well priced too. Full transparency its a little understaffed but i wouldnt consider that a problem for a mom and pop being open for just a day. If the food is good, the service is like family, and the sitting environment is nice then theres not much i could ask for. Thank you for the meal!

Outstanding flavorful food, situated in a culinary way, just as Xinjiang is situated geographically: between the Turkic (think Uzbek - samsa, plov, and skewered meat) and the Han Chinese (think noodles and wa jeal pepper)

It is a must to try this restaurant especially for Muslim travellers. Amazing service, love the menu and the food! There is definitely something for everybody. Pls support this halal establishment if you are in Paris. On our recent visit there are no long lines for sure. The staff are humble and always helpful. Easy to get to on foot or by uber.

This is a short walk from Roosevelt Station, or about 15 mins walk from L’arc de Triomphe. We had dinner here, the service was decent as was the decor. The kids menus are superb, with very generous portions and will fill any child 7 or below easily. Drinks were super with great options.
Lamb shank was delicious.
However, the fried chicken steak and the house steak were quite dry and chewy, they were not great. That said, sides were all perfect. Gratin dauphinois was superb. The steak could have been an off-night (unlikely as we ordered two and they were the same!). Not amazing but still worth a visit as it’s not easy to get halal steak in Paris.
All in all a great place to come and try.

The ambience is great..very cozy, chique vibes. Food comes out fast..ate mostly chicken. It's very rich and scrumptious. I couldn't finish all of it..but highly recommend. It's in a very trendy part of Paris. As a tourist I enjoyed it.

I discovered this halal restaurant online while visiting Paris, and it turned out to be quite easy to locate. I would definitely recommend booking in advance, as it can get fairly busy.
The food itself was enjoyable. I had the hamburger, which was decent, while my partner ordered the chicken and rice dish, which was particularly well-prepared and full of flavour. Overall, the quality of the food and the convenient location made for a good dining experience.
Unfortunately, the service did not match the standard of the food. The staff’s facial expressions and body language felt unwelcoming, which made us somewhat uncomfortable during our visit. To add to this, we were surprised when a tip was requested at the end, despite the lacklustre service.
In summary, while the food and location are definite positives, the service leaves room for improvement.

We came here under the recommendation of a Lebanese friend in NYC who knows I'm always in search of the best Lebanese. The original Naya in NYC used to be tops until they became a chain. I've looked in Isreal, Switzerland, London, France Connecticut... and been generally let down. But boy did noura step up. Our server Wisam took control from the beginning, something I'm loath to do, but other than the egg plant dip, everything was absolutely excellent and some of the best Lebanese I've ever had. I can't recommend this place enough. Wow. Even my elderly mother with the palette of a 10 year old, was very impressed. The taboulie was fresh, the Kibe is meaty, the hummus is fresh and creamy as it should be. The flat bread is nothing pretentious as it should be. Very filling. Excellent. I'll search out this location every time I want Lebanese in Paris.
Vincent the manager was very friendly as well and mentioned there are other locations, including london? I'll be sure to look for Nouras every where I go. Yum!

A ver nice place with a lay down atmosphere in a calmer street. The decoration is lively and the staff is really friendly. All dishes were good and had interesting flavours. The story behind the restaurant is heartwarming and knowing that everything is done in house with fresh ingredients is a blast.

An unexpected gem. We spoke with the owner several times and also found the wait staff to be a delight. The food is healthy, creative, flavorful, and thoroughly satisfying. If you like Moroccan food or hummus this is a must! I recommend everything I tried: the hummus sampler, falafel, chicken with olives, and desserts (multiple; my dining partner and I enjoyed alternating between the coconut/citron and flan/orange flower varieties).
The interior design is fantastic, too - don't sleep on checking out the toilet (not joking). The music was also fantastic (Elvis et al. earlier in the evening, then instrumental middle eastern).
A lovingly and thoughtfully created dining experience and one of only two places that I made a point of eating at twice while in Paris.
Viren Aggarwal★★★☆☆
It's difficult to find interesting and good quality food while traveling and Paris has many dodgy touristy restaurants on every corner.
Yoummah was a great find. It's a blend of Arabic North African cuisine- Tunisian, Algerian, Moroccan.
The decor is very calming. The ladies serving and cooking are charming and polite.
The food- we had the variety hummus plate. Unfortunately it was hard to distinguish between the various versions of hummus. Though I could feel that the food was good quality, it certainly packed in flavor.
Then I came for their aubergine dishes and that day the aubergine did not get delivered. Well, if it's 1/3 of your menu then how come there were no contingency plans? Meaning every grocery store sells good quality aubergine in France/Paris. A run to the grocery store would have done the trick....so disappointing.
I had the best food (similar type of food) in Essaouria, Morocco. The flavors there were unbelievably great.
Kelly★★★★★
Yoummah is a great place for middle-east food! I got the 35€ menu and was very satisfied with the amount of food but also the quality that came with it! You get a taste of their different appetizers + a choice of main dish + dessert! The portions are huge and I left the restaurant completely full 🙂 the only small regret is the lack of nicer desserts, their current ones have nothing too special, but I will definitely come back!
Krista Means★★★★★
O M G. This place was amazing!!! Our table had both detox drinks (delicious!), the chicken bites to share (a must), the chicken tagine (sublime), the falafels (moist and delicious, not even close to dry like most falafels I’ve had), and the quinoa and veggies (a party in your mouth). Honestly, I’m so disappointed we only found this place right before we were about to leave. The best meal I’ve had in Paris this whole week. Worth the trek, no matter what part of Paris you’re in. SO GOOD!
Tips for Choosing a Halal Restaurant near Palais Garnier
Dining out in a busy tourist hub requires a bit of strategy, especially when looking for specific dietary compliance. To ensure you have the best possible experience near the Opera district, consider the following practical advice before you sit down to eat.
Verify the Certification: Do not rely solely on window stickers or online reviews from years ago. A "halal" sign may sometimes refer only to specific dishes. It is best practice to call ahead or ask the staff directly if the entire menu is halal or if alcohol is served on the premises, depending on your level of strictness.
Look Beyond French Cuisine: While you might want French food while in Paris, the halal scene often shines brightest in international cuisines. Lebanese, North African, and South Asian restaurants in the 9th arrondissement often have a long-standing tradition of halal butchery, offering more authentic and flavorful options than a generic French brasserie trying to cater to tourists.
Check the "Plats du Jour": Many high-quality halal restaurants near the Opera cater to the business lunch crowd during the week. Look for lunch formulas or "plats du jour." These set menus usually offer the best value for money, allowing you to taste premium dishes at a fraction of the dinner price.
Manage Your Expectations for Alcohol: In France, many upscale halal restaurants have adopted a "halal-friendly" or "no-alcohol" policy to maintain a specific atmosphere, while others may serve wine. If you strictly require a completely alcohol-free environment, you must explicitly confirm this, as the definition of a halal restaurant can vary significantly between owners.
Book Ahead for Peak Hours: The area around Palais Garnier is incredibly busy between 7:00 PM and 9:00 PM, especially on weekends and performance nights. The best halal spots are often small and fill up quickly with both locals and tourists. A quick reservation via phone or online can save you from a long wait or having to settle for a lower-quality tourist trap.
Exploring the culinary scene near the Palais Garnier offers a delightful contrast to the gilded opulence of the Opera House. The neighborhood is a melting pot of cultures, and this diversity is reflected beautifully in its food. By choosing one of these halal establishments, you can enjoy the vibrant energy of Paris without compromising on your dietary needs or your standards for excellent cuisine.
Whether you are in the mood for a quick bite between sightseeing stops or a leisurely dinner after a show, you are well-served in this historic district. Take your time, enjoy the flavors, and appreciate the modern Parisian dining scene that caters to everyone.
