Standing beneath the colossal stone arches of the Arc de Triomphe, with the chaotic swirl of Parisian traffic circling the Étoile, you are surrounded by some of the most expensive real estate in the world. While the Champs-Élysées is famous for its haute couture and fine dining, not every visitor has the time or budget for a three-course silver-service meal. Sometimes, after climbing the 284 steps to the top or walking the length of the grand avenue, you simply need a quick, satisfying, and affordable bite to eat.
The area immediately surrounding the monument is often criticized by locals for being a bit of a culinary tourist trap, but that does not mean you have to settle for a bad meal. If you know where to look, you can find reliable fast food options that cater to every craving, from classic American burgers to French bakery sandwiches and Middle Eastern wraps. The key is to step slightly off the main drag and into the side streets where the quality improves and the prices become slightly more reasonable.
Because this is a high-traffic tourist zone, you will notice that many of the global chains operate here with a distinctly French flair. Menus often feature local ingredients, and you might find a macaron on the dessert menu next to the ice cream. It is entirely possible to grab a quick bite that still feels authentically Parisian, provided you choose the right venue.
For those traveling with children or picky eaters, the familiarity of a fast food restaurant can be a welcome relief after days of rich French cuisine. Conversely, for the adventurous eater looking for speed, there are kebab shops and crêperies that offer a taste of Paris’s multicultural street food scene without requiring a lengthy sit-down reservation.
The pace of this neighborhood is fast. Pedestrians rush to meetings, tourists rush to their next landmark, and no one wants to wait forty minutes for a table. These quick-service spots are designed to get you fed and back to sightseeing within the hour, ensuring you maximize your time in the City of Light.
Whether you are looking for a morning pastry and coffee, a hearty lunch to fuel a shopping spree, or a late-night snack after the monument’s evening illumination, the vicinity has you covered. The options range from the ubiquitous golden arches to local French chains that pride themselves on fresh baguettes and quality ingredients.
To help you navigate the culinary landscape of the 8th, 16th, and 17th arrondissements bordering the roundabout, we have compiled a list of the most reliable and satisfying quick-service eateries within walking distance. These are the spots where you can refuel efficiently without sacrificing the joy of eating in Paris.

For some reason, I just had to try the McDonald's in Paris and get my fix of the 'Bacon Royal with Cheese'! After all, walking around the entire morning made me hungry, and this McDonald's was right in my path. The staff are super friendly, even though they spoke little English, but somehow, I got my order in. And space was plenty, except that the crowds were also plenty. At the end of the day, this was a great experience in Paris, and whenever I travel around the world, I make it a point to try the local McDs!

A nice restaurant in an upscale area. Wife said a bathroom attendant was charging a fee to use the toilet, which i thought was weird. The store was very crowded.

We visited the McDonald’s near the Arc de Triomphe and had a good experience. There were multiple kiosks, which made ordering easy, and the service was very quick. We especially enjoyed the McCafé treats. There is plenty of seating both inside and outside, making it a convenient stop while exploring Paris.

Food quality: below criticism (photo attached).
Humanity: zero.
There was strong, cold wind blowing, so our group of 8 people + 1 dog wanted to step inside. Since there was no pictogram and no written sign stating that dogs are not allowed, we entered with my shivering dog — only into the entrance area — so we wouldn’t disturb anyone while the rest of the family was ordering.
After half a minute, the security guard forced us out. I repeatedly pointed out that there was no sign prohibiting dogs. Despite this, he became louder and louder, shouting “OUT!”
We then sat outside in the freezing cold and waited for the others.
Later, I received something that could barely be called food.
The only positive thing was that the hot chocolate was perfectly made and the barista was very nice.
I honestly hope the place goes bankrupt and gets replaced by an O’tacos or another more decent food chain.

Staff is super. Everyone I interacted with or observed was working diligently, fast, and with friendly professionalism.
The fries were perfect McDonald's standard.
The burger buns were some if the best I've had.
The meat patties were tiny and dry.
The thing that drags the restaurant down is the complete lack of napkins. Meals don't come with napkins. There are no napkin dispensers. And if the answer to that is that I should have asked at the counter, then I am going to argue that counter staff should ask whether I want/need napkins along when they offer ketchup for the fries.
The lack of napkins is exacerbated by the ridiculous long lines for the bathroom. They should offer a handwashing station outside of the bathrooms for those customers who don't need the toilet but prefer clean hands before and after eating.

Went here today, 09 Oct 2025, we ordered via the kiosks and whilst waiting for the food, I went to the toilet but was disappointed that I had to pay 1 euro to use the toilet when I had paid for 26 euros worth of food. The food ordered was a chicken sandwich which was the best thing on the list of items I ordered, the spicy beef sandwich was not spicy but very dry meat, the cheese balls were light and ok. Food comes very very quick, unfortunately so quick, it looks like its already cooked prio to the order. At about 4pm the place was less than 50% packed.

No wonder you think of McDonald's and Burger King when you're about to have a decent meal with a hamburger. But if you're in France and can find 'quick' nearby, you're lucky. Make sure to try a special hamburger with French flavor. A blue bun with blue cheese costs around E11 euros.

I bought a burger and asked if they could refill my water bottle for me (in a heatwave) and they told me no. The first time ever I’ve been refused by a fast food restaurant to do something so simple. I asked them in French as well to be as polite as possible. Burger was ok.

Food like it suppose to be but we got a cold burger. So we went to the cashier and they were very rude. After we got another burger, so that was ok. But the cashier gave it very rudely to us. Would NOT recommend

I'd like to add something to my review. The staff here was very impressive. An older lady who apparently had trouble with the technology used to order was absolutely taken care of by the Burger King staff. I was just so impressed with the level of care offered to ensure she had a good experience. The employees should be very proud.

Our order was served in just a few minutes and was hot. I liked the fries even when it got cold, it's crispy unlike other fastfood, once cold it's not good. There's also a security guard on-site. I recommend.

Had this place twice during a two night trip in paris as it was very close to our hotel and the food was at a very affordable price for the size of the portions you get. On our first visit i ordered a French taco which was tasty but I have had better in Switzerland but for the price you cant complain and all,the food is halal. The second visit I had ordered two pizzas and again both were very tasty abd were set at a very good price. Would recommend to everyone in the local area

I don’t understand how a restaurant with such high prices can offer such poor customer service. The Asian cleaning staff member on the upper floor was completely unprofessional and lacked basic respect for families and children.
When we arrived, I politely asked him if a table overlooking the street was available. It was dirty with food leftover from previous customers. He cleaned it reluctantly and with an angry attitude.
Later, to respect the restaurant's self-service policy, I left my 5-year-old daughter at the table for a moment to clear our trays into the trash bins myself. Even though he saw me properly emptying the trays while keeping an eye on my young child, he approached me aggressively, lecturing me on how to empty the plates properly and where to put the cups, telling me "not to leave anything behind!"
This was deeply insulting and completely unacceptable. I followed all the rules respectfully from the moment I arrived, yet I was treated with unnecessary hostility. A global brand charging premium prices should train its staff on basic customer service, professionalism, and how to respect families with young children.

It's a bit tricky to navigate the menu when using the kiosk. The breakfast doesn't have hashbrowns but the little potato wedges are good.....We had the bacon egg Mcmuffin. It was fine. The pancakes were fine and came with some jam. Some of the menu was typical of any McDonald's. They do have a large pastry section though.

Amazing location but quite a few issues. The toilet you have to pay €0.50 for, even if you’re a customer. Horrible service. I ordered with pay at the counter. Waited for 20 minutes. Got swayed off with "pay there" but no one came. They made my order without calling it out. Still no one came to help me. Then after another 10 minutes she came and said "sorry. Re-do it." And had to wait another 10 minutes. Not time one wants to waste in a fast food restaurant.

Unfortunately, this was my worst experience at a fast-food restaurant—in fact, the absolute worst ever. 1. There is no information about meal contents on the ordering screens; some items are listed using abbreviations, forcing customers to choose based on appearance, only to be surprised by unwanted ingredients like bacon. 2. There is no regard for customers who do not eat bacon, as if their entire clientele belonged to a single culture. 3. The staff member handing out orders does not speak to you at all, even when asked a question. 4. Drinks are served in glass cups, yet they refuse to provide a straw—demonstrating a lack of concern for public health and the transmission of germs between customers. 5. The drink was not cold enough and was served without ice, contrary to what was requested. I do not recommend visiting—in fact, I strongly advise against visiting Burger King in France altogether.

We were there today at around 4 PM.
The staff’s behavior was very rude, especially the few employees standing at the front and calling out the orders. The sandwiches were served cold.
I also asked for a glass of water, politely saying, “If it’s not a problem, could I have a glass of water?” One of the employees replied, “Ça me dérange” (“That bothers me”).
Overall, a very disappointing experience. Save your money and don’t waste it here.

This was one of the best McDonald's locations I have visited, mainly because of the atmosphere and service.
The food was consistent with what you would expect from other McDonald's restaurants, but the overall experience stood out. The staff were efficient, and the restaurant was well maintained.
The highlight is definitely the seating area by the upstairs windows. The tables offer a beautiful view of the Champs-Élysées, making it a surprisingly pleasant place to sit and enjoy a meal.
If you get the chance, I highly recommend choosing a window seat upstairs for the view.

It's McDonalds - Paris-style
On the long walk up the Champs-Élysées it's a handy stop while heading towards the Arc De Triomphe. It's in an unusual location, in that it's discretely buried within a building and not the garish in your face McDonald's you get at home. And of course, it has more options - I had the Double Royal Bacon Cheeseburger which is very tasty. And instead of all of us getting boring fries we also tried cheesy fondue wedges with bacon bits which are delicious.

The worst McDonald’s experience I’ve ever had. The receipt does not include a list of the items we ordered at all. When we received only half of our order, we were extremely disappointed, because we had no way to show the staff what we had actually ordered. There was simply no record of the order on the receipt, and no way for us to prove that items were missing. Absolutely terrible experience!!!

I visited this McDonald’s on two consecutive days and ordered the exact same meal both times. The quality was consistently good, which is always something I appreciate.
The food was delivered to the terrace within just a few minutes on both visits, making the experience quick and convenient. I also really enjoyed the new World Cup sauce.
My only minor criticism is the cup design, which could be improved, but that’s more of a brand-wide issue than something specific to this restaurant.
The staff were friendly, professional, and everyone I interacted with spoke English. They definitely deserve a rating of 4.5 stars or higher.

It says it opens at 7am and there were a few people waiting patiently outside. We waited until 7:05am and then we entered as the door wasn't locked. Then a rude staff member was saying they were closed and when we asked when it would open as it says it's open from 7am she said i don't know and kicked us all out, locking the door, only for another member to open it at 7:15am. The problem wasn't waiting a bit longer, but her way she was talking to us.
Overall a normal McDonald's with plenty of spots to sit down. You have to pay to use the toilets and they weren't the cleanest.
It's near the metro and bus station so it's convenient.
Just a bit disappointed with the behavior of the staff.

I went to try McDonald's in paris. It looked like their full counter are newly renovated with several self service kiosk. Crews were really busy, so i noticed a lot of litter on the floor and tables, but that's usual in busy days. I noticed their large drink cups are smaller compared to the ones I've experienced in the state's. I've tried some of their food that are not offered somewhere else, like big tasty single, which is pretty much the same as the quarter pounder. Their fanta orange drink was a little off taste. But i do love their fries with. Cheese toppings and garlic bits, i forgot what it's called. They have so many selections that i have not tried. How i wish we had more time.

Was open late and the burger came out FAST. However, and this is a big however, the burger was absolutely dripping grease and juice into what only be described as the thong underwear of a wrapper that immediately unfolded and was saturated to transparency with grease. The burger, despite its leaking, was so dry. My dining companion and I attributed it to the size of the bun which absorbed no juices except perhaps our saliva giving us stoner level dry mouth. Spent 22,40€ on two burgers (not menus) and a bottle of water. Scandalous pricing imo.

Tips for Eating Fast Food near the Arc de Triomphe
Navigating the fast food scene in such a prestigious tourist district requires a bit of local know-how. While grabbing a quick bite seems straightforward, a few strategic choices can save you money, time, and a potential mediocre meal. Here are essential tips to enhance your experience when eating quickly in this bustling area.
Walk a Few Blocks for Better Value
The restaurants located directly on the Avenue des Champs-Élysées and immediately facing the Arc de Triomphe often charge a premium for their location. You are paying for the view, not necessarily the food quality. If you walk just five minutes down Avenue Wagram or Avenue Kléber, you will often find the same chains or better local spots with lower prices and shorter lines, as they cater more to office workers than tourists.
Understand the French Dining Schedule
While fast food chains in this area often serve food continuously from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM, local bakeries and sandwich shops strictly adhere to French meal times. If you want a fresh baguette sandwich or a quiche from a boulangerie, do not wait until 3:30 PM, as many kitchens close between 2:30 PM and 7:00 PM. Plan your lunch for noon or 1:00 PM to get the freshest selection.
Check for the "Formule" or Meal Deal
Even in fast food establishments, the French love a good value menu. Look for the "Formule" or "Menu" options, which typically bundle a sandwich, a drink, and a dessert or side at a significantly reduced price compared to buying items à la carte. This is the most economical way to eat in the 8th arrondissement without sacrificing variety.
Skip the Soda, Try the French Beverages
To make your quick meal feel more authentic, swap the standard fountain soda for a French alternative. Most of these fast food spots offer bottled Orangina, citron pressé, or high-quality espresso. Even McDonald’s in France serves macarons and espresso-based drinks that rival some coffee shops back home, allowing you to have a quick but distinctly French dessert experience.
Be Mindful of the "Terrasse" Premium
Many of the fast food and café-style spots near the monument offer outdoor seating with a view. Be aware that in France, prices can sometimes differ between the counter (comptoir) and the terrace (terrasse). If you are on a strict budget, order your food "à emporter" (to go) and walk to the nearby gardens or the Champs-Élysées promenade to eat, saving you the service charge and allowing for better people-watching.
The area around the Arc de Triomphe may be synonymous with luxury, but that does not mean you need a luxury budget to eat well. By utilizing these fast food spots, you can maintain your energy for the city’s demanding sightseeing schedule while keeping your wallet intact.
Whether you are grabbing a croissant before a morning tour or a burger after a long evening walk, these establishments provide the necessary fuel without the fuss. They allow you to experience the vibrant, fast-paced rhythm of Parisian life, proving that even in the shadow of a national monument, a quick bite can still be a delicious and memorable part of your journey.
