Saint-Tropez may be famous for its glamorous beach clubs and rosé-soaked terraces, but the village has quietly cultivated a vibrant plant-based and vegetable-forward dining scene. For years, the Riviera was considered a difficult destination for vegetarians, where menus revolved around seafood and steak. Today, a new generation of chefs is changing that narrative by treating Provençal produce with the same reverence once reserved for luxury ingredients.
Travelers no longer need to settle for a sad side salad or a plate of fries while watching their friends enjoy elaborate French meals. From sun-drenched courtyard bistros to refined gastronomic tables, Saint-Tropez offers a surprising depth of meat-free cooking. The local markets, overflowing with heirloom tomatoes, courgette flowers, artichokes, and fresh herbs, provide the foundation for these creative kitchens.
The Mediterranean diet has always been inherently plant-friendly, built on olive oil, legumes, grains, and seasonal vegetables. Many traditional Provençal dishes, such as ratatouille, soupe au pistou, and pissaladière, are naturally vegetarian or easily adapted. Forward-thinking restaurateurs in Saint-Tropez have embraced this heritage while adding contemporary techniques and global influences.
Whether you are a strict vegetarian, a flexitarian, or simply someone who appreciates beautifully prepared vegetables, you will find plenty to enjoy. The key is knowing which establishments take vegetables seriously rather than treating them as an afterthought. This guide focuses on restaurants that consistently deliver flavor, atmosphere, and genuine hospitality to plant-based diners.
Several of these addresses are tucked away on quiet side streets, away from the bustling port, where locals prefer to eat. Others occupy prime positions with views over the Mediterranean, proving that vegetarian dining can be just as glamorous as any other meal in Saint-Tropez. Booking ahead is strongly recommended, especially during the summer season.
Below, you will find a curated selection of the ten best vegetarian restaurants and vegetable-focused tables in Saint-Tropez. Each entry has been chosen for its commitment to quality produce, creative cooking, and a welcoming atmosphere for those avoiding meat and fish.

This is really a great restaurant on a narrow side street of the port in St. Tropez. Wonderful atmosphere, lighting and delightful Moroccan soundtrack in background.
Couscous dishes were fabulous and Moroccan desserts assortment was fantastique. Great wine list including Provence and Bordeaux reds. Full bar. Great staff, French and English spoken (and menus). Highly recommend.

The best oriental restaurant in Saint Tropez. The food is exceptional, great wine selection, signature cocktails are a must try.
My advice is to stay after dinner, shift to the tables in front of the Dj set and stay for drinks, the atmosphere changes a lot later on the night. The service is impeccable, extremely attentive, funny and welcoming. Best experience in Saint Tropez so far.

We had lunch and the best indian curries we have eaten in a long time. We had the pompadom & chutneys, mixed platter, lamb vindaloo and fish marsala, both perfectly spiced and right amount of heat when we asked for spicy. Air conditioning inside, service was excellent and attentive. Particularly liked they way they said not to hang my handbag on the back of my chair for potential theft. Highly recommend the food and wonderful service.

A truly wonderful dining experience.
The gentlemen running the restaurant were incredibly kind, gracious, and wonderfully old-school in the best sense. Even though I didn’t have a reservation, they were thoughtful enough to find a seat for one, which I genuinely appreciated.
The food was exceptional, the prices were fair, and the service was impeccable throughout.
The only unfortunate part of the evening had nothing to do with the restaurant itself. A group of fellow Indian diners arrived and behaved quite loudly, repeatedly calling out to the staff in an abrupt manner (“Boss, how much time?” and similar remarks). The staff even offered to move me to another table.
As an Indian myself, I believe we represent our country wherever we travel. A little patience, courtesy, and respect towards hospitality staff go a long way. The restaurant deserves praise not only for its excellent food and service but also for the professionalism and composure with which the team handled the situation.
Highly recommended and I look forward to visiting again.

By far the best Indian food I’ve ever had! The staff was absolutely lovely and the portions were big. I particularly recommend prawn pakoda and biriyani!

One of the nice places to visit to eat. The atmosphere is festive, live music and a lot of good vibes.
The food is great, it was my first time trying Indian food and I liked it. A nice experience.
Prices are very reasonable compared to other places in St Tropez.
All in all, I recommend this place.

Top notch establishment. The samosas were crispy and authentic. The naan bread (cheese and garlic) were cooked to perfection. The rice and entrees were so tasteful and rich. Joseph and the other waiters were super friendly and were patient with my lack of French. Joseph does this cool spin of the serving platter too. Came back for lunch the following day! Thanks for a great experience!!

Highly recommend Beyti if you’re looking for authentic Lebanese cuisine. This wonderful family-run restaurant serves incredibly fresh, flavourful food that is among the best I’ve had. The service is warm and attentive, the location is great, and every dish was absolutely delicious. You can really feel the passion and hospitality behind this place. A true gem that I’ll definitely be returning to.

Really good food, patient service that listens to my food allergies and not like most people, give me an allergen card and then do no more. Thank you for taking the time to listen to the allergies I have and for assuring me that it's not a problem and you will adapt.
Excellent authentic food.

Excellent Lebanese cuisine in a stylish new restaurant with friendly attentive service. A/C good in the heat, too! Generous portions that were all delicious. Looking forward to returning!

We had such an incredible meal here. Everything was so fresh and every dish was phenomenal. We were a family of 8 (9 if you count our 1.5 year old) and we all enjoyed every bite. The service was wonderful, everything came fast and the space was a calm oasis away from the busy streets of St Tropez! We would eat here everyday of our trip if we would.

Very nice restaurant and the service excellent, but unfortunately the food wasn’t very delicious, the octopus was very gummy and the meat was tasteless, and the beef wasn’t cooked properly. It was very chewy and required a lot of chewing.
Overall, the service was excellent and the restaurant was lovely, but the food could definitely be improved.

4.5/5 stars. Made a reservation for lunch and were seated quickly. We got a seat outside with a nice view of the church. The menu was a set lunch menu with a 2 course meal (choice of appetizer or dessert plus an entree) for 27 euros, and you order from this wooden board, not a physical menu.
I got the stracciatella, tomatoes, and arugula pesto for the appetizer, and the sea bass for the main. The appetizer was refreshing, and I enjoyed the mix of herbal flavors. The seabass was tender, and I enjoyed the side of veggies, although some parts of the dish were a little too salty. I tried my husband’s dessert - the pavlova, and it was light and not too sweet. It took a little while to get the bill (as is typical in Europe), but we enjoyed the food and the view.
Joakim Carlsson★★★★★
The menu was small but thoughtfully curated, and every dish we tried was absolutely delicious. We were lucky to get a table outside on a charming little side street, which created a cozy and authentic atmosphere. It was calm and relaxing, yet close enough to the other guests to give the restaurant a warm and lively ambiance. A wonderful dining experience that we would happily recommend.

My husband and I took a day trip to Saint-Tropez for our honeymoon and stopped here for lunch. It was the BEST dining decision we made because it was truly one of the best meals we have ever had! An intimate gem in Saint-Tropez
An exceptional experience last March. Pan Deï Palais has succeeded in offering an ultra-intimate and secluded setting, while remaining in the heart of Saint-Tropez. HE★★☆☆☆
The dish of the day was gnocchi with veal ragù. While the ragù had a decent flavor, its consistency was more like baby food than a proper slow-cooked meat sauce. The gnocchi themselves were overly soft and mushy, making them unpleasant to eat.
As a starter, we had the grilled octopus. Unfortunately, it was quite forgettable. The texture left much to be desired, and it lacked the depth of flavor you would expect from a well-prepared grilled octopus. Overall, it was rather tasteless.
The grilled beef was burnt on the outside, and several pieces were so tough that we couldn't chew them. Without the chimichurri, the meat would have been quite tasteless.
When we ordered a glass of Chardonnay, it arrived already filled to the brim. There was no opportunity to taste the wine first, nor was it poured at the table, which is not what I would expect at a restaurant of this level. We mentioned this to the service staff, but the concern seemed to be brushed aside. We later raised it with the sommelier, who acknowledged the issue but explained that it was an organizational matter and that the wine service depended on which member of staff was serving.
Before leaving, we shared our feedback with the manager. We genuinely hope it was received in the constructive spirit it was intended and that the restaurant takes it on board, as there is clear potential to match the excellent atmosphere with food and service of the same standard.
Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant for the food, but I would recommend it for the atmosphere.
Claudia Wetteland★★★★★
We had an absolutely exquisite meal at Le Patio from beginning to end! The cocktails were creative and delicious and the food was equally impressive! We loved the carpaccio and bruschetta which was an explosion of flavor in a petite bite! The service was friendly and attentive without being smothering.
Highly recommend!!

The dinner ambience with the live music is nice. Have a look around and maybe enjoy a cocktail for € 34. However, DO NOT touch the food.
We made them aware twice of my food intolerance and checked again each time they brought a dish. Based on how I felt after dinner, they did something VERY wrong.
On top of that, my wife found a piece of plastic in the Tagliata de bœuf while she was chewing it. They waitress took it to the kitchen to have it checked out and told us that it's a piece of the plastic the chefs use to cook it. How on earth should that reassure us. So even if you are lucky and they don't forget any of the plastic pieces in your food, you can be assured that they are poisoning you with tons of micro plastics. Would have thought people know better by now. Also no attempts by the waitress or anyone else to make things right so we left the remaining food behind and left.
Pasta dishes taste mediocre at best. Portion sizes are tiny but that might be for the best.
If I knew my way around the French system I'd be inclined to have the health inspectorate visit them. Clearly their kitchen is like the wild west.

A bubble of calm and flavors in the heart of St Tropez.

The Chef blends high-flying Italian cuisine and Mediterranean traditions with great talent. The staff is attentive and very friendly.
One word: exceptional!
Kevin Bernges★★★☆☆
Food was very nice and of high quality, as you can expect. Atmosphere is stunning in this beautiful courtyard with its ivy surrounding (the music was unnecessarily loud and the singer partly quite bad, more of a nuisance I found).
The service was abysmal. Our waitress seemed like she had her first day and wasn’t trained. Rarely showed up, brought bread etc too late, in the middle of the meal, could explain absolutely zero about the dishes, didn’t ask a single question, overall completely desinterested. Pity as the other waiters seemed significantly better. Shouldn’t happen at a place like this!

Great local spot, approved by our hotel concierge. It was a perfect last meal in St Tropez for us. Definitely need to order the mussels entree with a bottle of rose of course. For our mains we shared the truffle gnocchi (YUM) and the grilled calamari. The calamari was just okay, a little dry but the ratatouille served with it was delicious. Overall an affordable, authentic, and delicious meal with a great atmosphere!

A lovely warm and welcoming family run restaurant. The food is authentic italian and delicious! We will definitely be back. Make sure you book in high season. Highly recommend.

Came here twice because it was just that good! The homemade pastas are exceptional — we tried both the truffle and the pesto with stracciatella, and while both were mouth-watering, the truffle one was simply unforgettable. The salmon tartare was generous and delicious. They do a homemade lemon meringue pie, light, fluffy, and delicate, a real surprise! Beyond the food, the service was just as memorable: the waitresses were all smiley, bubbly, and genuinely kind, something rare these days. And to top it all off, the prices were very reasonable, which feels almost unheard of for Saint-Tropez. Truly a 5-star quality/price/service!

This place is a gem !

Service was great and the champagne was chilled !
We loved it and will definitely recommend it and hope to come back again on another visit to Europe.

We reserved online the same day for dinner. The staff was very friendly and all dishes were of the highest quality. The gnocchi with truffles were one of the best I've ever had in my life. All three courses did absolutely not disappoint and the price/quality ratio was excellent as well. Definitely a recommendation for everybody who is visiting St. Tropez.

The zucchini flower tempura was light and crispy, the grilled fish fresh and perfectly cooked, and the burger juicy with golden fries. Friendly service, great atmosphere, and quality ingredients.

Not the best experience. It took about 15 minutes just to get the menu, and another 15 minutes to place my order. The young waitress seemed completely uninterested in doing her job. The service was very disappointing, and I felt completely ignored.
The fish I ordered came with bones, a tiny portion of aubergine salad, and a few potatoes. Absolutely not worth the price.
It feels like a tourist trap because of its location in a busy area.
Please skip this place and eat somewhere else.

We visited this place after our friend recommended it because of the amazing view, and what an amazing view it was! Overlooking the beach, yachts, sunset, and mountains was beautiful and made it an excellent dining experience. We had cocktails to go with our starters. We then had salmon and steak for dinner with a delicious rosé. The staff was friendly and kind when we had questions. They spoke English well. We loved watching the sun go down as we were served each course. When it came to dessert time we relaxed with cheesecake and sorbet with espresso. There was no rush to leave and we had an amazing night at Pearl Beach. Great atmosphere.
Tips for Enjoying Vegetarian Dining in Saint-Tropez
Dining out as a vegetarian in a town known for its luxury seafood and Provençal meat dishes requires a little local knowledge. These practical tips will help you navigate menus, communicate your needs effectively, and discover hidden gems beyond the obvious tourist spots. With a bit of preparation, you can eat exceptionally well without compromising your dietary preferences.
Learn a few key French phrases. While many servers in Saint-Tropez speak English, knowing how to say “Je suis végétarien(ne)” or “Sans viande ni poisson, s’il vous plaît” shows respect and reduces misunderstandings. French dining culture values politeness, and a friendly attempt at the language goes a long way.
Look beyond the word “vegetarian” on the menu. Many traditional Provençal dishes are naturally meat-free but not labeled as such. Ask about soupe au pistou, tian de légumes, ratatouille, or a simple assiette de légumes grillés. These classics often showcase the best of the region’s produce.
Visit the Place des Lices market. On Tuesday and Saturday mornings, this iconic square transforms into a vibrant food market. Stock up on fresh fruit, local cheeses, olives, and baked goods for a picnic on the beach or a light lunch at your accommodation. It is also a great way to discover which vegetables are in season.
Call ahead for dietary requirements. If you are dining at a restaurant not specifically known for vegetarian food, phone in advance and mention your needs. Most kitchens in Saint-Tropez are happy to prepare something special with a day’s notice, especially during the quieter shoulder seasons.
Embrace the Mediterranean meze approach. Many restaurants offer small plates, antipasti, or mezze-style starters that can be combined into a satisfying vegetarian meal. Ordering several vegetable-focused starters is often more interesting than a single main course and lets you sample a wider range of flavors.
Time your visit for shoulder season. May, June, and September offer the best balance of pleasant weather, open restaurants, and attentive service. During peak summer, kitchens are under immense pressure, and special requests may be harder to accommodate. Visiting in spring or early autumn also means better access to tender seasonal vegetables.
Saint-Tropez rewards curious eaters who take the time to explore beyond the waterfront terraces. The town’s culinary identity is deeply rooted in the surrounding countryside, where small farms and gardens supply restaurants with exceptional produce. Vegetarians who lean into this agricultural heritage will find themselves eating as well as anyone else in town.
From a simple plate of grilled artichokes drizzled with local olive oil to an elaborate multi-course tasting menu centered on vegetables, the options are more varied than ever. As demand for plant-based dining continues to grow across the French Riviera, Saint-Tropez is proving that elegance, indulgence, and vegetarian cuisine can coexist beautifully on the same plate.
