12 Best Fast Food Spots in Dijon

Dijon might be world-famous for its mustard and medieval architecture, but the capital of Burgundy also knows how to satisfy a rumbling stomach quickly. Whether you are rushing between the Palace of the Dukes and the Musée des Beaux-Arts or heading out for a night on Rue Berbisey, the city offers a surprising variety of quick-service eateries. Beyond the traditional boeuf bourguignon served in sit-down brasseries, a new wave of fast-casual dining has taken root here.

The beauty of grabbing a quick bite in Dijon is that you do not have to sacrifice quality for speed. Local chefs have embraced the "fast good" movement, utilizing regional ingredients like Charolais beef, Epoisses cheese, and fresh market produce. You can find everything from authentic French tacos and gourmet burgers to international street food that rivals the quality of a full-service restaurant.

Navigating the city’s culinary landscape can be overwhelming, especially if you are visiting for the first time. While the historic center is walkable, knowing exactly where to find the crispiest fried chicken or the most authentic kebab saves you valuable sightseeing time. This guide focuses on spots that prioritize speed without cutting corners on flavor or freshness.

For students attending the University of Burgundy or travelers on a budget, these options provide excellent value for money. Many of these establishments offer takeaway services, allowing you to enjoy your meal in the picturesque Place de la Libération or the Jardin Darcy. It is the perfect way to combine the local food culture with the city’s vibrant street life.

We have curated a list that balances local institutions with modern trendsetters. From smash burgers that have taken social media by storm to family-run kebab shops that have served the community for decades, there is something for every craving. We have evaluated them based on speed, consistency, ingredient sourcing, and overall taste.

Here is where you should be eating when you need a delicious meal without the long wait.

On July 22, 2024, at around 9.45pm, my wife brought me here, as the restaurant we meant to go was closing. It’s business was good and we took it as the Dijon’s McDonald alternative. We had a reasonable nice meal in our hotel room at 10:15pm.

First order was wrong, second order was also wrong- had to wait another 20 mins to get I ordered, very poor service and mediocre food

Point B is an amazing burger shop in Dijon that serves as a fantastic halal alternative to fast-food chains like McDonald's. The food here is not only fresh but also incredibly delicious. It's a refreshing change from the usual options available in the market. The staff at Point B are exceptional, and I must highlight Jabed, the manager, for his outstanding customer service. He goes above and beyond to ensure that every customer feels welcomed and satisfied. Jabed's kindness and willingness to assist are truly commendable. The menu offers a variety of mouthwatering options, and the quality of the ingredients shines through in each bite. From burgers to sides, everything is prepared with great care, resulting in a delightful dining experience. If you're looking for a halal burger place in Dijon, Point B is the perfect choice. The combination of fresh, delicious food and the warm hospitality from the staff, particularly Jabed, makes it a standout option. I highly recommend giving it a try.

Their burgers are the best I’ve had in Dijon, and probably the best I’ve ever had in a Restaurant. I ordered the Korean Burger with a side of fries and a drink, and the portion size was just perfect. If i ever visit Dijon again, it’ll probably be the first place I’ll eat at. And the sweet potato fries are heavenly as well. Deeelicious!!!
Finicky Foodie★★★★★
I did not expect to have such good burgers in France, but these were exceptionally tasty! They tasted fresh and the beef tasted high-quality. The sweet potato fries are honestly some of the best I’ve had. Delicious lunch at Foodies! Didn’t have to pay for water here either, that was a nice bonus!

The food is super yummy and worth the price. The quantity is a lot. We ordered a chicken salad bowl. It is super yum with crispy chicken with Mustard dressing. We ordered a Chicken paotine, it is chicken with onion, full cheese, fries and wine. It tastes different.

The service was excellent and the staff members were very welcoming and friendly. The food is Halal and delicious. I had a Tenders & Beef Naan with Harissa and a B-street burger (which I liked a bit less because it had Samurai sauce inside of which I'm not a big fan). We talked to one of the chefs and he was kind enough to offer us a box of wings for free. They were also among the very few restaurants open at 15:00 on a Saturday. 100% recommend 🙂
Jared Levens★★★★★
Went for dinner here on our way back home from the south of France whilst in Dijon for our overnight layover. Service was great from a guy who spoke a little English. He made us feel welcome and made a fuss of our kids whilst also throwing in some free chicken wings which were delicious. I recommend the chicken tenders in naan bread. A little gem. Be careful where you park. Dijon itself is a bit sketch

Naomi Azeez★☆☆☆☆
I was disappointed to find that only three of the menu items were available- so I ordered a Go Krousty box which is meant to have chilli sauce, a "homemade Thai sauce" and chicken with rice. What I received was a meager sprinkling of chicken on top of plain white rice with lots of mayonnaise. I had to throw most of it away. The chicken, which was the best part, had no discernable seasoning and was drowned in mayonnaise, which should not be anywhere near rice in my opinion. A waste of €8.50.

The concept is brilliant! I would never have dared to mix my fries with different sauces; it's an interesting experience and a real treat. The staff is very welcoming. Definitely worth checking out. However, to fully appreciate the sauce on the fries, I recommend ordering them in a tray.

Very happy with my order at this newly opened establishment. The fries are delicious, double-fried—you can tell right away when you eat them—and the portion is really generous. Excellent value for money. The staff are very friendly, and the service was very fast. I'll be back.

They advertise homemade fries!! They're anything but homemade. I didn't even finish my portion; they were frozen, mealy fries. A disgrace to the potato. Definitely avoid them.

A well organised take on the modern fast food joint. Bright and tasteful interior, though a bit cold in winter time.. Had the chicken and avocado burger menu and the chicken looked and tasted like freshly breaded fillet. (Pro tip, add a slice of bacon for that extra kick to the tastebuds) The curly fries were a nice touch and extra crisp With the medium burger at 9.90e, it's competitively priced. Would come again in a heartbeat

Excellent burger. Juicy, crispy bits, soft bun. Really good. The fries were great too and I’m usually not one for crinkle fries. Will definitely be back.

You really should change the schedule, it says you open Sundays at toison d'or and this is the second time I come and you are close. Please change the schedule is already really difficult to find where to eat on Sundays in France, so when you come back and see it close even if google maps says is open is very sad.

Essential Tips for Eating Fast Food in Dijon

While the city is incredibly welcoming to hungry visitors, there are a few local customs and logistical details that can make your dining experience much smoother. Understanding the rhythm of the city’s dining hours and payment preferences will help you avoid tourist traps and eat like a true Dijonnais. Here is what you need to know before you order.

1. Respect the French meal schedule
Most fast food spots in Dijon strictly adhere to standard lunch (12:00 PM – 2:00 PM) and dinner (7:00 PM – 10:00 PM) hours. If you try to grab a burger at 4:00 PM, you may find that many independent kitchens are closed for service preparation. Plan your sightseeing around these windows to avoid disappointment.

2. Ask for "La Sauce Maison"
In Dijon, the quality of a fast food joint is often defined by its house-made sauces. Whether it is a garlicky white sauce for kebabs or a special burger mayo, asking for the "sauce maison" often unlocks a flavor profile you cannot get from bottled condiments. Locals know that the best spots take pride in these secret recipes.

3. Carry a little cash
While most establishments in the city center accept credit cards and contactless payments, some of the smaller, family-run kebab shops and bakeries have a minimum card spend (usually around €10). If you are just grabbing a snack or a drink, having a €5 or €10 note in your pocket will speed up the transaction significantly.

4. Look for the "Fait Maison" label
French law requires restaurants to indicate if a dish is made from scratch on the premises. When scanning menus, look for the "Fait Maison" (Homemade) logo. In the fast food sector, this indicates that the fries are likely hand-cut and the meat is fresh, rather than frozen and imported.

5. Don’t skip the dessert counter
Unlike standard global fast food chains, many local burger and kebab spots in Dijon offer incredible desserts. Because they are located in Burgundy, you can often find fast-casual spots serving gourmet café liégeois, artisanal ice cream, or even a quick crème de cassis treat. Always check the dessert board before you throw away your tray liner.

6. Be prepared to bus your own table
In many modern fast-casual restaurants in Dijon, particularly those catering to students, you are expected to clear your tray and sort your waste. Look for the recycling stations near the exit. Keeping the table clean is seen as a sign of respect in these bustling, high-turnover environments.

Dijon proves that a city steeped in gastronomic tradition can also master the art of the quick bite. The evolution of the local fast food scene reflects a broader shift in France, where speed is no longer an excuse for poor ingredients. Whether you opt for a towering burger or a perfectly spiced shawarma, you are participating in a modern culinary movement that respects both your time and your taste buds.

As you explore the cobblestone streets and hidden squares of this historic capital, let your appetite guide you to these local favorites. They offer a delicious contrast to the fine dining experiences nearby, proving that in Dijon, great food is not defined by the price tag or the time spent waiting, but by the passion in the kitchen.
