Paris defies the idea of a simple checklist. It is a city that rewards wandering, where the space between famous landmarks often holds the most memorable experiences. Whether you are standing beneath the Eiffel Tower or sitting on a quiet bench in a hidden garden, the French capital has a way of slowing down time.
The challenge for any visitor is not finding things to do, but narrowing down the options. From world-class art collections and historic churches to bustling markets and serene riverbanks, Paris offers an almost overwhelming variety of experiences. The best approach is to mix iconic sights with local neighborhoods to understand how the city actually lives.
Food, history, art, and fashion are woven into the fabric of daily life here. You do not need to be a museum expert to appreciate the craftsmanship of a patisserie window, and you do not need a guidebook to feel the weight of history on the Île de la Cité. Paris speaks to everyone, but it asks for your attention.
This guide focuses on experiences that capture the essence of the city. Some are famous for good reason, while others offer a deeper look at Parisian culture beyond the postcard views. Each recommendation is chosen to help you build an itinerary that feels personal rather than rushed.
For practical purposes, the city is divided into twenty arrondissements that spiral out from the center like a snail shell. Understanding this layout helps you group activities by neighborhood, saving time on the metro and leaving more room for spontaneous discoveries.
Below you will find a curated list of essential Parisian experiences, followed by insider tips to make your visit smoother and more rewarding.

An unforgettable, bucket-list experience in Paris!
Visiting the Louvre was an absolute highlight of my trip to Paris! The sheer scale of the museum is mind-blowing, and the building itself a stunning former royal palace is just as much a masterpiece as the art inside. Looking up at the incredibly ornate, gilded ceilings and walking through the grand galleries felt surreal.
Of course, seeing Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa in person was an unforgettable moment. Yes, the room is busy, but the line moves quickly and it is completely worth it. Beyond that, the Winged Victory of Samothrace standing tall at the top of the grand staircase and the beautiful Venus de Milo were absolutely breathtaking.
My top tips for anyone visiting:
1. Book your tickets online well in advance to secure your time slot and bypass the massive ticket lines.
2. Wear your most comfortable walking shoes because the museum is massive and you will easily clock in thousands of steps.
3. Pick a few must-see pieces before you go, or you will get easily overwhelmed
It is an absolute 5-star experience that you cannot miss when in Paris. Truly a journey through history and art!

I recommend buying tickets in advance and getting an early time slot, especially if you are coming during the summer.
I got the audio guide and it was kind of nice but I really struggled to find the room number codes and therefore did not get much use out of it.
I really enjoyed the artwork, especially the painting exhibits, but it is REALLY easy to get lost. We ended up doing a lot of walking in circles. Also sometimes you can only go in one direction, like in the room with the Mona Lisa.

The Louvre Museum is one of the most incredible places to visit in Paris and a must-see for anyone who appreciates art, history, and architecture. The museum is enormous, so it's a good idea to plan your visit in advance and decide which galleries you want to explore. Even spending an entire day isn't enough to see everything.
The museum is home to world-famous masterpieces, including the *Mona Lisa*, the *Venus de Milo*, and the *Winged Victory of Samothrace*. Beyond these iconic works, every gallery is filled with fascinating paintings, sculptures, and historical artifacts from different civilizations and time periods.
The glass pyramid at the entrance is an attraction in itself and makes for beautiful photographs. Inside, the museum is well organized, although it can become very crowded, especially around the most famous artworks. Arriving early or booking tickets in advance can help make your visit smoother.
There are cafés, restaurants, gift shops, and clean restrooms throughout the museum, making it convenient for visitors. Comfortable shoes are essential because you'll be walking a lot.
Overall, the Louvre offers an unforgettable cultural experience. Its vast collection, rich history, and breathtaking architecture make it one of the world's greatest museums and an absolute highlight of any trip to Paris.

Louvre Museum needs no reviews. Visiting the Louvre Museum was an amazing experience! 🤩 Seeing all the stunning architecture and incredible paintings from renowned artists, some over 500 years old, was truly magical. ✨ It's great that entry is free, just remember to book your tickets in advance. Highly recommend! 🏛️

I had high hopes returning to the Louvre for a second visit, but unfortunately this time the experience was more frustrating than magical.
There are, of course, extraordinary works here. Winged Victory of Samothrace was magnificent, as was the Venus de Milo, and Liberty Leading the People was a highlight. Even with the crowds, these masterpieces were worth seeking out.
The Mona Lisa, however, was another story. With the enormous crowd packed in front of such a surprisingly small painting, we really couldn’t get close enough to appreciate it. I actually found the enormous painting directly across from her fascinating—the contrast in scale between the two works is almost an attraction in itself!
The timed-entry system worked well and we didn’t have much of a wait getting inside, which was a definite plus. I also really enjoyed being outside the museum—the beautiful courtyard and pyramid, followed by a walk through the gardens, were some of my favorite parts of the visit.
The Louvre unquestionably contains some of the world’s greatest art, but the sheer number of visitors made it difficult to actually experience some of it. I’m glad we returned and saw several wonderful works, but compared with my expectations—and my first visit—this one was a three-star experience. There are other museums like the Orsay that I’d recommend for a second trip to Paris.

Notre-Dame Cathedral is absolutely beautiful and, of course, one of the must-see landmarks when visiting Paris.
Entry to the cathedral itself is free, although you are encouraged to reserve a time slot in advance. The reservation is also completely free. I didn’t make one because I wasn’t sure exactly when I would arrive, but this wasn’t a problem at all. There is a separate line for visitors without reservations, and I only had to wait around 5-10 minutes before getting inside. So if you don’t manage to reserve a spot, don’t worry - you can still visit; you may just have to wait a little.
Once inside, the cathedral is incredibly bright and beautiful and has a very serene atmosphere. Visitors are encouraged to remain quiet, particularly during services and announcements. The stained glass is especially stunning, and there are so many intricate details in the artwork and architecture that are worth taking the time to appreciate.
There is also a treasury inside the cathedral that you can visit for a fee of around €12. It is relatively small, so you can comfortably see everything in under an hour. It contains a collection of religious and historical objects and is an interesting addition if you have some extra time. One thing to keep in mind is that there are no restrooms in the treasury area, so you will need to go outside if you need one.
Overall, Notre-Dame is absolutely worth visiting. The cathedral itself is free, beautiful, peaceful, and easy to visit even without an advance reservation. Definitely one of the highlights of Paris!

We visited Notre Dame Cathedral during our stay in Paris and really enjoyed the experience. The queue outside looked quite long when we arrived, but it moved surprisingly quickly, so the wait was not an issue.
The cathedral is beautiful inside, with impressive architecture and many interesting details. We enjoyed walking around and taking in the atmosphere of such a historic place.
We also bought one of the souvenir coins from the machine inside, which was a nice keepsake to remember our visit to Notre Dame and Paris.
Overall, it was a very enjoyable experience and the cathedral is definitely worth visiting, especially for anyone interested in history, architecture, and the story of Paris.

Notre Dame Cathedral is an absolute must-visit when in Paris, and my experience there was nothing short of awe-inspiring. The Gothic architecture is breathtaking—from the intricate rose windows to the soaring ribbed vaults—and standing beneath those towering ceilings really puts you in touch with centuries of history and human achievement.
But here's my insider tip: if you want to experience something truly special, I highly recommend doing the towers tour at night. Yes, it involves climbing a lot of stairs, and you'll definitely need a reasonable level of physical fitness to make the ascent comfortably. However, the reward is absolutely worth it.
Once you reach the top, you're treated to an unforgettable view of Notre Dame's intricate roof architecture illuminated against the night sky, and beyond that, the glittering expanse of Paris spread out in all directions. The cityscape twinkling below is genuinely stunning—it's a perspective you simply don't get during the day, and I haven't seen many people talking about this particular experience.
Whether you visit during the day to admire the cathedral's architectural details and interior beauty, or time your visit for the evening towers tour, Notre Dame delivers an experience that stays with you. It's one of those places that reminds you why Paris is called the City of Light.

I had the privilege of visiting Notre-Dame Cathedral before the 2019 fire, and it remains one of the most unforgettable experiences of my trip to Paris. The cathedral was absolutely breathtaking, showcasing magnificent Gothic architecture, soaring vaulted ceilings, intricate stone carvings, and stunning stained-glass windows. Every detail reflected centuries of history, craftsmanship, and artistic excellence.
The atmosphere inside was incredibly peaceful and inspiring. Walking through the cathedral, admiring the beautiful chapels, sculptures, and the famous rose windows, was a truly memorable experience. It was easy to understand why Notre-Dame is considered one of the world's greatest architectural and cultural treasures.
Its location in the heart of Paris, on the Île de la Cité, made it even more special, surrounded by beautiful views of the Seine and some of the city's most charming streets. The visit was well organized, and despite the large number of visitors, the experience never felt overwhelming.
Looking back, I feel incredibly fortunate to have seen the cathedral in its original form before the devastating fire. It remains one of the most beautiful landmarks I have ever visited, and I hope to return one day to admire its remarkable restoration. Notre-Dame is a timeless symbol of Paris and an unforgettable place that fully deserves a five-star rating.
Aid★★★★★
I saw the cathedral just a few weeks before it’s fire in 2019 which was an incredible experience. The cathedral now is even more spectacular. Notre Dame is now much more striking and you get a sense that this is how the architects and craftspeople intended the cathedral to dominate. I was very moved by the crown of thorns being on display- this was done very well and tastefully not just a tourist gimmick. 100% recommend paying a little extra to do the tour of the towers. You get an amazing view of the city and it really helped to amplify the history and scale of this incredible building.

I have visited the catacombs with my teenage daughter. It is a very interesting experience, to imagine a labyrinth of tunnels filled with bones, that runs underneath the busy streets of Paris. The audio guide is available in several different languages and offers a very informative commentary. The quotes throughout the catacombs give a chilling reminder of our own mortality. However, visiting is not recommended for people with limited mobility, as you have to descend and ascend on narrow spiral staircases fairly quickly, as not to hold up the people behind you. Advance booking through the official site is essential, as the catacombs were completely sold out on the day of our visit. Booking only opens 7 days in advance, so you have to be fairly quick to secure your preferred time.

Loved it!!! If you like one of a kind experiences that's a little creepy, you will love this. The walk took about an hour at a slow leisurely pace.
Some parts of the path are a little narrow with low ceilings, the floor is pebbly so wear comfortable shoes, it was dimmly lit but very safe, I was walking alone for part of the path so the timed entry tickets really spaced everyone out for the experience.
If you get scared easily, walk with a group.
I loved this over every other museum visit in Paris and can't wait to go again!

An amazing and unique experience! Walking underground in Paris surrounded by history and millions of bones arranged neatly gives a magical yet eerie feeling. The place is very well-maintained and informative. Highly recommended for anyone who loves history. Tip: You must book tickets online in advance!
Lauren Hagan★★★★★
As someone who studies history and pays close attention to how museums handle interpretation, I was genuinely impressed. The Catacombs are a difficult site to present well: you're dealing with human remains, a long and layered history, and a space that could easily tip into spectacle. Instead the curation strikes a really thoughtful balance between the engineering history of the quarries, the public health context that led to the ossuary, and the memorial dimension of the space itself.
The audio design deserves special mention. The headphones that updated automatically as we moved through the route were a smart, immersive choice. It let the interpretation stay tied to the physical space without the usual fumbling with keypad numbers, and it kept the pacing intuitive.
One note for the staff: we went as a group of 5 and 2 of our headphones stopped working partway through. If that hardware reliability gets sorted out, the experience would be close to flawless. Highly recommend for anyone interested in urban history, memory studies, or just exceptional spatial storytelling.
lauren chalas★★★★★
Very very cool, with an excellent audio tour. I appreciated the way that you could go with your own pace. The history of this place is so fascinating. It was on my must-visit list and I'm so glad I did.
Tickets can be purchased on the site up to 7 days ahead of time. Don't count on buying tickets at the door, they sell out far in advance.

The Tuileries Garden is one of the most beautiful and relaxing places in Paris. Located between the Louvre Museum and Place de la Concorde, it is the perfect place to take a break from sightseeing while enjoying the elegance and charm of one of the city's most famous parks.
The gardens are beautifully maintained, with perfectly landscaped pathways, colorful flower beds, elegant fountains, and impressive sculptures throughout. Walking beneath the tree-lined avenues and around the peaceful ponds creates a calm and enjoyable atmosphere, making it easy to spend hours exploring or simply relaxing.
One of the highlights of the garden is the stunning view stretching from the Louvre through the Tuileries to Place de la Concorde and the Champs-Élysées. The park also offers plenty of benches and the iconic green chairs, making it a wonderful place to sit, unwind, and watch Parisian life unfold.
The location is ideal, with many of Paris's most famous attractions just a short walk away. Whether you're heading to the Louvre, strolling along the Seine, or continuing toward the Champs-Élysées, the Tuileries Garden is a perfect stop along the way.
Overall, the Tuileries Garden is a peaceful oasis in the heart of Paris, combining natural beauty, history, and elegant landscaping. It is an essential part of any visit to the city and a place I would happily return to. It fully deserves a five-star rating.
Kristy Eden★★★★★
It seems bizarre to review such a well-known place, but I enjoyed walking there. The hot-air-balloon-shaped Olympic cauldron was stunning to see. Beautiful flowers and statues everywhere, a reasonably priced place to grab a snack. Just a lovely place to grab a seat in the shade and while away the hours.
Mohammad Diab★★★★★
We visited the Tuileries Garden during our time in Paris. It is a large and pleasant garden in a very central location, making it a nice place to walk and spend some time while exploring the city.
There are wide walking paths, landscaped gardens, fountains, statues, and plenty of open space. From different parts of the garden you can also enjoy nice views of the surrounding Paris landmarks, including the Eiffel Tower in the distance.
During our visit, some sections were closed off with temporary fences, which affected the overall appearance and limited access to parts of the garden. There were also temporary attractions, including a large Ferris wheel and a balloon.
Overall, it is a nice place for a walk or a short break, especially if you are already visiting the Louvre or nearby areas. It is worth passing through while exploring central Paris.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Review
Tuileries Garden is a beautiful and spacious park in Paris.
There is plenty of open space to walk around, relax, and take a quiet break from sightseeing. I also noticed playground areas, so it feels like a nice place for both families and visitors who just want to slow down.
The atmosphere is calm and elegant, and it’s a great spot to spend time between visiting museums or walking around central Paris.
A lovely garden to relax, enjoy the scenery, and take a peaceful break in the city.
Tyler Dylan★★★★★
After the crowds and intensity of the Louvre, the Tuileries Garden was the perfect change of pace. We had a wonderfully peaceful visit wandering beneath the beautiful rows of shade trees, sitting beside the large pools and fountains, and simply watching Paris go by.
One of my favorite moments was watching children sail the little wooden boats across the pond, pushing them away from the edge with long sticks and then waiting for the wind to bring them back. Knowing that children have been doing this in the Tuileries for generations made such a simple scene feel very special.
The summer carnival added a completely different kind of energy—colorful rides and swings soaring above the trees—yet there were still plenty of quiet places to sit, rest and enjoy the gardens. It somehow manages to be lively and peaceful at the same time.
The fountains, shady pathways, green chairs and wonderful people-watching made this much more than simply a walk between Paris attractions. It became a place to linger and reflect.
Five stars. Give yourself time here rather than just walking through on the way to somewhere else.

I loved walking to the louvre pyramid through the jardin du carrousel- especially with the sun out, listening to people having chats at the nearby cafés or on the green grass. Came here early in the morning and had a look around didn’t go into the museum. It’s really quite a nice area. Walked around the loo and then to the gardens nearby as well pleasant at that time of the day because there’s less people in great photo opportunities.

The Pyramide du Louvre is an impressive sight and definitely worth taking a moment to admire before entering the museum. One of Paris’s most striking architectural landmarks. The pyramid creates a bold contrast between contemporary glass design and the historic classical palace surrounding it. It serves as the main entrance to the world‑famous museum. The structure is photogenic, reflecting the palace during the day.

I think this museum is absolutely beautiful. I visited on a Thursday evening and didn’t have much time, but I still had a wonderful experience. I’ll definitely come back one day to explore it properly.
I mainly wanted to visit the fifth floor, which I did, and the paintings there are simply spectacular. And of course, the famous clock is absolutely stunning. The view through it over Paris is just beautiful.
I can highly recommend visiting this museum. Even a short visit was absolutely worth it.
Andrew Brown★★★★★
This is simply the best art Museum in Paris.
The selection of exhibits is breathtaking! The layout and structure of the museum offers a calm atmosphere for everyone to explore and enjoy.
So much to see from sculptures to furniture and above all masterpieces of the art world.
If you have experienced the madness of the Louvre before visiting I suggest walking around the ground floor to settle into the flow of the museum before heading to the top and working your way down.
Don’t miss the arches where there are some fascinating pieces. There are so many sections to this museum all beautifully laid out.
The top floor cafe is really quite good but the service team behind front of house are a little slow and unconnected which is unusual given how good every else is.
Do use the cloakroom facilities carrying a rucksack around will detract from the experience. It’s free.
Allow 4.30-5hrs if you want to see it all and believe me you will not want to leave. The building is fabulous.
Do not leave Paris before visiting this museum.

The Musée d’Orsay is one of the most beautiful museums in Paris, especially famous for its incredible collection of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist art. Housed in a former railway station, the building itself is stunning, with its huge glass clock and open, elegant interior.
Inside, you’ll find masterpieces by artists like Vincent van Gogh, Claude Monet, and Édouard Manet. The museum feels bright and spacious, and it’s easy to spend hours just walking through the different galleries.
The upper floors also offer great views through the giant clock windows, which is one of the most iconic photo spots in Paris.
An unforgettable cultural experience.

Really great museum. Although the stunning impressionist painting takes away all the attention and other exhibits are neglected. They should just make this one for impressionism only.
Very crowded. Particularly the Vincent Van Gogh gallery. Most people just snap a photo and move on. Then why come all the way to the museum.
Books shops are well stocked. The cafe is very crowded.
They should provide more seating space in the galleries, it's very tiring, particularly for an old person like me.
Go early. There is way too much to see.
The museum is very nice, nice decor, convenient location.
A must visit in Paris.
Dry Gin★★★★★
Visited Musée d’Orsay during the evening opening at around 6:30 PM. The museum offers extended opening hours on Thursdays, which is a great option for visitors who prefer a less crowded experience.
The crowd was very manageable, allowing us to enjoy the exhibits comfortably. It is a large museum with an impressive collection of artworks. We headed to Level 5 to see the famous works of Vincent van Gogh and other renowned artists, which was definitely one of the highlights of our visit.
Overall, it was a very enjoyable experience. The museum is well worth visiting, especially during the Thursday evening opening when the atmosphere is more relaxed.

The Basilica of Sacré-Cœur is one of the most moving places I visited in Paris. I went on a foggy winter day, and the scene was magical as I climbed the long staircase leading up to it, watching the white domes gradually appear and disappear through the mist — it gave the whole place a mysterious and spiritual atmosphere from the very first moment. The instant I stepped inside, I felt like I was in a truly sacred and solemn place; the spiritual calm that fills the basilica makes you feel a deep sense of reverence. I stood in awe before the massive mosaic on the ceiling depicting Christ in stunning golden colors — one of the most beautiful works of art I've ever seen. From the outside, the basilica's pure white domes stand proudly over the Montmartre hill, and despite the fog, the panoramic view of Paris from up there was breathtaking. A truly spiritual and beautiful experience — I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Paris.

She sits majestically up on the hill for all to see as you traverse across Paris. We ventured in for a visit. The line appeared a bit long, but it went quickly and there was much to take in while you waited. The locks of love on the fencing, the view of the city, and people watching. The church is beautiful inside. My favorite was the area over where the priest spoke. The colors on the ceiling were rich. No ticket. Free to enter.
Marta Swiecki★★★★★
One of the most beautiful cathedrals I've ever seen. Perched at the highest point in Paris, it offers some of the most spectacular views of the city. If you're looking for a panoramic view of Paris, this is definitely the place to come.
There can be a wait to enter, but admission is free and well worth a little patience. On hot summer days, consider bringing a small fan, as the crowds and heat can make the wait more challenging.
Once inside and around the grounds, you'll be rewarded with stunning architecture, incredible history, and breathtaking views. Absolutely worth exploring!

Definitely worth visiting if you come to Paris, we took the train and then metro which were so easy to use to get here. We’d recommend getting here as early as possible as the queue does start piling up around mid day and also be aware of pickpocketers around this area! We went in the summer so it was really nice to sit on the steps and eat our food in the sun, there are a lot of souvenir shops selling gifts but they were expensive so we’d recommend walking to the suburb of Montmartre to get the best deals.
EILEEN W★★★★★
A beautiful sight! A strenuous hike! Especially if you get off at the Abbesse Metro exit… we walked the 176 steps to bring us up to ground level. And then you get to walk up the steep hills to the very top. The Basilica is beautiful, although we opted not to wait in line in the blazing sun to go inside. It is free to view. We did get some lovely exterior photos plus the view of Paris from the top of Montmartre. If you can’t do the steps, there is an elevator from the Metro, and apparently a funicular to bring you to the top of the hill.

The Eiffel Tower is truly one of the most beautiful and iconic landmarks in the world. Visiting it in Paris was an unforgettable experience. From the first moment you see it, the size, design, and elegance of the tower are absolutely impressive. It is not just a monument; it is a symbol of Paris, romance, history, and French beauty.
The atmosphere around the Eiffel Tower is amazing, especially when you walk near the gardens and see the tower from different angles. It is a perfect place for taking photos, enjoying the view, and feeling the special energy of Paris. During the day, the tower looks powerful and elegant, and at night it becomes even more magical when the lights turn on and sparkle.
Going up the Eiffel Tower is also a wonderful experience. The view from the top is breathtaking, and you can see many famous parts of Paris from above, including the River Seine, beautiful bridges, historical buildings, and the city skyline. It gives you a completely different feeling of Paris.
Overall, the Eiffel Tower is a must-visit place for anyone travelling to Paris. It is beautiful, romantic, historic, and unforgettable. Whether you visit during the day or at night, the experience is very special and definitely worth it.

This is definitely a tourist trap, but a necessary one if you are in Paris. Great photo opportunities. There is a nice park adjacent to the tower grounds. If you want to ride the elevator to the top, I recommend buying tickets well in advance. I highly recommend visiting in the evening and watching the light show that starts at 10pm.

Visited the Eiffel Tower with an e-ticket and had a great experience. I would highly recommend purchasing your tickets online in advance to avoid disappointment, as tickets can sell out quickly.
The first security check does not require you to show your ticket. After that, proceed to the “E-Tickets – Elevator” entrance with the green signboard. Visitors are only allowed to enter during their designated time slot, so there is no need to arrive too early. After entering, there is a second security check where your ticket will be scanned. The elevator ride to the 2nd floor takes about a minute. If you are visiting the summit, you will need to change to another elevator. Everything was very well organized and the crowd control was excellent. The staff did a great job managing the large number of visitors, making the whole process smooth and efficient. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and one of the highlights of our trip to Paris.

The Eiffel Tower was an unforgettable experience and one of the most memorable highlights of our trip to Paris! Seeing this iconic landmark in person was truly breathtaking. The views over the city are spectacular, offering a unique perspective of Paris’s beautiful architecture, gardens, and famous landmarks.
The experience was especially magical for our family. Our children were excited from the moment they saw the tower and were amazed by its size, history, and incredible views. Watching Paris from above created memories that we will cherish for years to come.💕

Best seen at night time to admire the light show. Long waiting lines to get in, but if you've a disability, you can go straight in, but won't be allowed to go to the top of the tower. Be careful of thieves in the area and stays open till late. Stalls in the area during weekends for gifts and bargains, best to book in advance, as when we went, top floor was fully booked. Selfie sticks are allowed, unlike in Disneyland.

Gorgeous upper end department store. You have to go to the center and find the beautiful Stainglass dome. There is a platform on the fourth floor to get a closer look at the dome. If you go to the top floor, you can see the exterior metal support for the dome. There are a couple of places for drinks and food on the rooftop with great views of the city. You will find a floor of women’s shoes. I ran through and took photos of the most interesting. There is makeup, perfume(and a separate store next door with mostly perfumes), jewelry, clothing, children’s attire, purses. It’s worth a stop for the views and to window shop or window lick as the French call it.

At Galeries Lafayette, the ground floor is dedicated to cosmetics, perfumes, and fragrances from various luxury brands.
When you first enter this space, you are immediately surrounded by different scents, and perhaps some of them take you back to memories because of the familiar fragrance of your favorite perfume. But as you continue further, you suddenly discover a stunning architectural masterpiece at the heart of the store that captures your attention and makes the entire shopping experience unforgettable.
This place represents a beautiful and authentic French style, full of elegance and heritage. From the rooftop of this iconic department store, you can also enjoy a wonderful view of the city of Paris.

Absolutely breathtaking! Galeries Lafayette in Paris is an experience in itself, not just a department store. The stunning architecture, incredible glass dome and beautifully presented displays make it feel like you’re walking through a piece of Parisian history.
The atmosphere is fantastic, with an amazing selection of shops, luxury brands, cafés and restaurants. The attention to detail throughout the building is incredible, and the whole place feels elegant and exciting from the moment you walk in.
The views from the rooftop are the real highlight — absolutely spectacular, with an incredible panorama across Paris and some unforgettable views of the Eiffel Tower.
A definite must-visit when in Paris. Even if you’re not planning to shop, it’s worth visiting simply to take in the architecture, atmosphere and views. One of the highlights of our weekend in Paris!

Iconic Paris department store famous for its stunning Art Nouveau dome and luxurious shopping atmosphere. A must-visit destination for fashion, beauty, accessories, and gourmet products, with an impressive selection of international and French brands. The rooftop terrace also offers beautiful panoramic views over Paris. Busy and touristy at times, but still a classic Paris shopping experience.
Esther B★★★★☆
Amazing place with an added rooftop where you can have a nice view of the eiffel for free.
The inside of the gallery itself with its dome is in itself impressive. The interior decor concept is changed from time to time, so you could be in for a pleasant surprise if you visit it after sometime. Definitely recommended to check out if you have sometime in Paris or just to go for shopping as well.
It however tends to be crowded most of the time.

We loved visiting the Arc de Triomphe! It is a stunning and architecturally elegant landmark with incredible attention to detail. Standing beneath the massive arch and seeing the beautiful sculptures and intricate carvings up close was truly impressive. The location also offers a wonderful perspective of Paris and the famous avenues that radiate from the monument. It is an iconic part of the city and definitely worth visiting when in Paris. Visiting the Arc de Triomphe was one of the highlights of my trip to Paris. The monument is even more impressive in person than in photos. Its massive size, beautiful architecture, and incredible attention to detail make it a true masterpiece. Standing beneath it, you can really appreciate the history and significance of this iconic landmark.
Climbing to the top was absolutely worth it. The panoramic view of Paris is breathtaking, especially with the famous Champs-Élysées stretching out below and the Eiffel Tower visible in the distance. It’s the perfect place to take unforgettable photos and admire the beauty of the city from above.
I also found the history behind the monument fascinating. The eternal flame and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier add a deeply respectful and emotional atmosphere that reminds visitors of the sacrifices made throughout history.
The entire site is well organized, clean, and easy to visit. Whether you’re interested in history, architecture, or simply want to experience one of the most famous landmarks in the world, the Arc de Triomphe is a must-see. I would happily visit again and highly recommend it to anyone traveling to Paris.

Definitely a highlight of my trip! It was amazing to see this in real life and it is interesting to see its commemorations as well. There was a lot of people trying to cross the road but if you do try to cross, there are some stairs and a tunnel, do not try to cross the road!!! Definitely worth seeing and ticking off the list, also be aware of pickpocketers!

Standing beneath the Arc de Triomphe is an unforgettable experience. The monument is even more impressive in person, with its massive size, intricate sculptures, and rich history honoring those who fought for France. Climbing to the rooftop is absolutely worth it, offering one of the best panoramic views of Paris, including the famous Champs-Élysées stretching into the distance and the Eiffel Tower on the horizon.
Visiting around sunset makes the city even more magical as the lights begin to glow. Be prepared for some stairs if you head to the top, but the view is well worth the effort. A must-visit landmark for anyone exploring Paris.

I was genuinely amazed by the urban planning of Paris the moment I reached the top of the Arc de Triomphe.
Standing here, you can clearly see the twelve grand avenues radiating perfectly from the monument. It makes you appreciate how visionary French city planning was centuries ago.
Up close, the sculptures and carvings on the Arc are simply breathtaking. Every detail tells a story of France’s history and victories under Napoleon. Whether you admire him or not, it’s impossible not to respect the scale of his ambition and the legacy he left behind.
My advice: buy the ticket and climb to the rooftop. It’s €22 on regular days and only €16 on Wednesdays (April–September), and it’s worth every single euro.
The 360° panoramic view is one of the best in Paris. You’ll understand the city’s remarkable design, learn the fascinating history behind the monument, and capture some of the most unique, unforgettable photos of Paris.
One of the best viewpoints in the city. Worth every cent 🇫🇷📸

Beautiful manicured public garden. Loads of chairs to sit and relax. Beautiful grounds to spend an afternoon walking, reading, relaxing. Miniature sailboats in center fountain cost €8 for 30-minute rental, but fun to just watch the boats. Also has kids playground(€3/child entry) and carousel(€2/ride). Playground is really for kids under 8 but does have a good slide. For sure your child sits on outside horses on carousel to play the ring game, as all other seats do not get to play and they don’t post this.

The standout public garden in Paris. Choose your entrance well to get the best experience. Enter via the main gates. It’s an elevated position over the boating pool. It gives a clear sense of the time and effort that is put into this attraction. Head to the right for shade under the trees. Lots of seating to sit and enjoy the atmosphere. Take a picnic. If you have little ones the boating lake offeres fun for €5 and tucked at the back of the park is a fabulous climbing and adventure playground.

We fly on the seat of our pants and don't have time to plan our events...so if it's busy season we don't always have an option to reserve times. Saint Chappelle is a busier place -- we had to stand in a no tickets line. It worked out (with Museum Pass).
What a wonderful place. You can make this a long visit if you want to relax and take it in. Or you can make it quick. The Conciergerie is right there, too -- so plan them together. It took us about 45 minutes to get through the wait line. Reservations recommended.
Was a little confused by some scaffolding and mirrors covering up a corner of the chapel. Didn't ask about it. Beautiful place. Amazing stained glass. Well worth a visit.

Sainte-Chapelle is one of the most breathtaking churches I have ever visited and a true hidden gem in the heart of Paris. Although its exterior is relatively modest, the interior is simply extraordinary and unlike anything I have ever seen.
The magnificent stained-glass windows are the highlight of the visit. Covering almost every wall, they fill the chapel with vibrant colors and tell beautiful biblical stories through thousands of intricate glass panels. When sunlight shines through the windows, the entire chapel is transformed into a spectacular display of light and color that is truly unforgettable.
The Gothic architecture is equally impressive, with soaring ceilings, elegant columns, delicate stonework, and remarkable attention to detail. Every corner of the chapel reflects exceptional craftsmanship and artistic brilliance, making it one of the finest examples of Gothic architecture in Europe.
The visit was well organized, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Despite its popularity, the chapel maintains a peaceful atmosphere that allows visitors to fully appreciate its beauty. I would recommend visiting on a sunny day to experience the stained-glass windows at their absolute best.
Overall, Sainte-Chapelle is an architectural masterpiece and one of the most beautiful religious sites in Paris. Its incredible stained glass, rich history, and unique atmosphere make it an unforgettable experience and an essential stop for anyone visiting the city. It fully deserves a five-star rating.

Sainte-Chapelle is absolutely stunning and one of the most beautiful places we visited in Paris.
When we arrived, there was a long line, and staff told us it would take about one to one and a half hours to get inside. The wait was worth it, though.
The interior is breathtaking. The stained-glass windows are incredible, and when the sunlight shines through them, the whole chapel glows with color. The architecture and details are amazing and unlike anything we had seen before.
Definitely worth visiting if you’re in Paris, but be prepared for a wait during busy times.

Beautiful, historic church that was built to house The Crown of Thorns by King Louis IX. The church was built in 7 years. Be sure to spy the crown of thorns on the smallest spire before you go in. There is a chapel meant for the King on the bottom floor. At present they are restoring it to its rich colors. Up the winding stairs to the main Chappell you are rewarded with the at least 2-3 story tall Stainglass windows. Even on a cloudy day they are impressive.

Jardins du Trocadéro is truly one of those rare places that stays with you forever. From the moment you step into the gardens, you feel an instant sense of calm mixed with excitement. The view of the Eiffel Tower is simply breathtaking—especially when seen from across the fountains. It’s not just a viewpoint; it’s an experience that captures the true spirit of Paris.
What makes this place so special is the atmosphere. Families relaxing on the lawns, street performers adding energy, and couples quietly enjoying the scenery—it feels alive yet peaceful at the same time. The fountains create a magical charm, especially in the evening when the lights reflect beautifully against the water. Every corner feels like a perfect photo spot, but more importantly, it creates memories that stay in your heart long after you leave.
I visited with my family, and it became one of the most cherished moments of our trip. Watching the Eiffel Tower sparkle from this spot felt surreal, almost like a dream. It’s a place where time slows down, allowing you to truly absorb the beauty around you.
If you are visiting Paris, Jardins du Trocadéro is absolutely a must-visit. It’s not just a garden—it’s a lifetime memory waiting to happen. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to experience the magic of Paris in its purest form.

Many tourists come here just to take photos, and honestly, I don’t really understand why. If you’re visiting Paris, I’d recommend skipping this place—or at the very least, be extremely careful with your belongings.
There are many people in the area trying to steal from tourists in different ways. We even tried to warn other visitors, but some of those individuals became aggressive, confronted us, and threatened us.
What surprised me most was the apparent lack of police presence to protect tourists and the public. At least during my visit, I didn’t feel that enough was being done to ensure people’s safety.

The view here is absolutely worth it!!! We took an Uber and it dropped us off right in the front the steps looking towards the Eiffel Tower. We went on a Monday around 2pm and there wasn’t a ton of people there. We also went to the restaurant right next to it called Cafe de l’Homme, which was a spectacular view of the Eiffel Tower. I highly recommend going there (very pricey though) if you’d like to spend a special night together with a great view.

Moulin Rouge is one of those classic Paris experiences that I think is worth doing at least once, especially if it’s within your budget.
One thing to note is the organization before the show. Even though our ticket was for the 11:00 PM performance, we were still waiting in line at 11:00 and ended up waiting around 30 minutes before getting inside. If you’re visiting as a couple, don’t expect a private table. You’ll likely be seated with other guests, and the seating can feel quite cramped.
The show itself was spectacular. The costumes were stunning, and the vibrant colors made every scene a visual feast. The production value is incredible, with impressive staging, lighting, and set changes. The only minor downside was that some of the group performances didn’t feel perfectly synchronized, which was a little surprising for a production of this scale.
The performance is mostly in French, but you don’t really need to understand the language to enjoy it. There are also several specialty acts between the dance numbers, and they were just as entertaining as the main performances.
The venue itself is iconic, and seeing the famous windmill and glowing neon lights in person is part of the experience. Just keep in mind that the surrounding neighborhood is Paris’ red light district, so the atmosphere outside is quite different from other parts of the city.
Overall, Moulin Rouge delivers a memorable night out and is a great choice if you’re looking for an authentic and iconic Parisian experience.
Ivorena Taylor★★★★★
The show was amazing, not exactly what I was expecting because I forgot that it literally is a burlesque show 😂 I wasn't the only one though because there were quite a few children in the building. The theatre was beautiful. We didn't have dinner which is why there's no rating.

The area around Moulin Rouge is one of the most happening and tourist-friendly spots in Paris. Right in front of the famous Moulin Rouge, there is a Marilyn Monroe-style wind/photo spot where both kids and adults were enjoying themselves, taking pictures, and creating fun memories.
The atmosphere around the area is full of energy, with tourists walking around, clicking photos, and exploring the famous streets of Montmartre. It is a lively place that gives you a feel of the entertainment side of Paris.
Even if you are not attending a Moulin Rouge show, visiting the area is worth it for the iconic view, the vibrant surroundings, and the fun photo opportunities. It is a popular stop for tourists and a nice place to experience the colourful side of Paris.

Booked about a month before we came and at the time thought the price was ridiculous. Upon arrival about 40 min before show start we were greeted by friendly staff. Queued upstairs then down but not for too long. We were shown to a table for 2 but tables very close together you are almost sharing tables with other people. Serving staff were smart, friendly and very efficient. All food was well presented and tasty although 1st course I ordered wasn't my cup of tea as raw beef. There was a band and singers on stage while you were eating. Once the show started, WOW, we thought it was amazing, costumes were stunning, so bright and colourful. The singers and dancers were very professional and so much energy, so many quick costume changes. The speciality acts were brilliant, recognised 1 from BGT . We never expected this show to be so big and have so many dancers on the stage so could now fully understand why we had paid so much. Had a great night, you need to visit here when in Paris and can highly recommend it
Kay Canama★★★★☆
It's best to book your tickets far in advance. I tried to book it just a day or two before the night I wanted to go but all the times were sold out. However, I kept checking every so often one morning and luckily I was able to book tickets for that same night! The official website says that there is a dress code but as far as I can tell, it was not enforced. The line to get in was long but moved fairly quickly once the doors opened. The tables seat around 8 (?) so unless you are travelling with that many people, expect to be sat by strangers.
Now, about the show itself. If you want a spectacle, then the Moulin Rouge certainly delivers. The costumes are just stunning and many of the acts are great too. Like seversl of these reviews say, if you want a cohesive storyline or are expecting it to be like the movie or Broadway show, you will be disappointed. I guess it just depends on what you're looking for. All in all, definitely worth the experience.

Visiting the Musée de l’Orangerie was one of the highlights of my time in Paris. The museum is relatively small compared with some of the city’s other major museums, but that actually makes the experience feel much more intimate, peaceful, and enjoyable. It is especially famous for Claude Monet’s Water Lilies, and seeing these paintings in person was genuinely unforgettable. The oval rooms dedicated to Monet are beautifully designed and allow you to experience the paintings in a completely different way from seeing them in photographs. The enormous panels surround you, and the soft natural lighting creates a calm atmosphere that makes it easy to spend a long time simply looking at the details. The scale and colors of the paintings are much more impressive in person. I also really enjoyed the museum’s wider collection, particularly the works from the early 20th century. There is a wonderful selection of artists and styles, and the exhibition spaces are thoughtfully arranged without feeling overwhelming. I appreciated that the museum gives you enough space to properly take in each artwork rather than rushing from one room to another. The location is another major advantage. Being right beside the Jardin des Tuileries makes it easy to combine the museum visit with a walk through one of the most beautiful gardens in Paris. Overall, I would definitely recommend Musée de l’Orangerie, especially to anyone interested in Impressionism, Monet, or modern European art. Even if you only have a limited amount of time in Paris, this is a museum I would make an effort to visit. A beautiful, memorable, and surprisingly peaceful cultural experience in the heart of the city.

This is located in the Toulerie Garden. The Monet paintings were so impressive. He did these near the end of his life. Giverny, Monet’s home Giverney, is a nice combination with a visit to the L’Orangerie to see the studio where the paintings were done and the water lilies that inspired him. There are other paintings in their collection. Picasso, Renoir, Modigliani to name a few. An hour or so is all you need. I bought the timed tickets ahead of time on their official site.

Loved the collection, water lilies… museum added descriptions for kids to some of the works, amazing. Do not hesitate to bring kids, as it is a perfect introduction to museums and art… there is even an art room for the little ones. One of my favourite Paris museums.

A small museum which is easy to fit into a packed day. There’s lots of beautiful artwork downstairs in addition to the water lilies and only took us around an hour to cover.
We waited for 40 minutes to get inside at around 1pm on a Wednesday so getting tickets in advance is recommended.
We got the combined Orsay and Orangerie tickets which can only be bought in person for €20 per adult and was a great value for money. They also sell other combined tickets at a lower price of you’re considering doing multiple museums.
The water lilies are breathtaking I’d wait that long to see them again, a must do if you’re in Paris!

Cozy Museum.
We went to this museum during our trip in Paris. It is a smaller museum. Although it was a Sunday(7/26); we arrived around 10:30am. The line wasn’t bad really long & we didn’t have a ticket. We were in line for an hour.
Once we were inside, we were able to see paintings by Monet, Rousseau etc. The museum only has two floors & it took us only an hour to see everything. I did enjoy the wall paintings of Monet.
FYI: I would recommend buying tickets in advance from the museum site with the time for entrance. While waiting in line, saw people with tickets from other vendors without the time & they send them to our line. It is as if one doesn’t have a ticket if purchased from a third party vendor smh.

I’ve always loved the parks in Paris. They are always well-maintained and by far the prettiest parks of all European cities. But did I just stumble on mother?! It’s amazing!!!! I’m happy it wasn’t too crowded. A real hidden gem in the middle of Paris without all the tourists (myself included). Great to cool down on a hot day in the shade or to run apparently with all the breathtaking height differences the park offers. Absolutely stunning!

An interesting park designed around a 100-foot hill, with a spectacular cliff island (a former gypsum mine transformed under Napoleon III). Approaching from the north side, you're greeted with the iconic view of the clifftop rotunda and hundreds of picnickers. The park is rather popular with locals who suntan and relax, often with a CBD joint, particularly on the eastern slopes that face west with ample afternoon sunshine. Unfortunately, the best part of the park is closed for renovations that should have begun two years ago in 2022 (no sign of active work), and you can't walk around the island or access the island or the rotunda. On the plus side, most of the park is paved and not very dusty like Jardin du Luxembourg, more like Parc Andre Citroen in this regard, just way more crowded, and the best parts are closed. All in all, a nice park to see, but I wouldn't go out of my way to see it now that I know you can't go up. Oh, and the only public bathroom has a perpetually long line.

Parc des Buttes-Chaumont is a truly beautiful park with a unique landscape set on hills. The winding paths are lovely to walk, and the park is quite large, with cliffs, small waterfalls, and a peaceful lake.
It’s a great spot for a picnic, with a play area for kids and even a small, cute café. We’ve visited in both winter and summer, and it’s equally charming in every season.

This parc is very close to my house and I visit there very often. My favourite attractions are the ducks and the rocky section of the parc. Nice place to have picnics near the lake, spend some quite time , watch dogs and people.

Even on a very hot day, Parc des Buttes-Chaumont felt refreshing and peaceful. Beautiful landscapes, plenty of shade, and a great atmosphere make it an ideal place for a picnic and a leisurely walk.

I visited the Petit Palais with my family during our trip to Paris, and it was a nice experience. The building itself is beautiful, both from the outside and inside, and there are many interesting paintings, sculptures and works of art throughout the museum.
One thing I particularly appreciated was the small area dedicated to children. My youngest son spent some time there and really enjoyed it. It is not a large children’s museum, and you can probably go through it in less than an hour, but it was a nice addition to the visit and made the museum more enjoyable for families with young children.
The permanent collection is free to visit, which is another positive point. The museum is also in a very good location in central Paris and can easily be combined with other attractions nearby.
Overall, it is a nice museum. You do not necessarily need to spend several hours here, and for us it was a pleasant stop that combined art, impressive architecture and something enjoyable for a young child as well.

The Petit Palais is one of Paris’s hidden gems and definitely worth a visit. The permanent collection is free, making it an incredible place to explore, whether you have an hour or an entire afternoon. The museum is beautiful, and the collection is well curated and easy to walk through without feeling overwhelming.
They also host temporary exhibitions that require a paid ticket, and they’re absolutely worth it if one interests you. The quality of the exhibitions is excellent and complements the permanent collection really well.
It is a peaceful, elegant museum that’s easy to visit and offers a wonderful cultural experience without the crowds of some of Paris’s larger museums.

We really enjoyed our visit to the Petit Palais. The artwork, architecture, and statues were mesmerizing, and the overall setup was beautiful. The café was a lovely place to relax, while the children’s area was a huge hit with the kids. The clean and well-maintained restrooms were another plus. Overall, we are very glad we stopped by.

The Petit Palais is an absolute gem in Paris! If you are a fan of art, this place is a must-visit. The architecture alone is stunning—it is a breathtaking example of Beaux-Arts style, and the interior courtyard with its garden is the perfect peaceful escape in the middle of the city.
I was particularly impressed by how it serves as a fantastic place to experience modern art. The museum does an incredible job of blending its classical roots with a collection that bridges the gap beautifully into the early 20th century. Whether you are there for the permanent exhibitions or the temporary shows, there is always something interesting to discover. It’s a great spot for an eclectic mix of art lovers who want to see everything from traditional masterpieces to modern creativity. I highly recommend spending an afternoon here!

While the Louvre is undoubtedly great, this place offers a wonderful alternative if you want to skip the massive queues and save some money (free entry!). There is an incredible variety of beautiful paintings and fascinating collectibles to explore here without the overwhelming crowds. Highly recommended!
Tips for Visiting Paris
A little preparation goes a long way in Paris, where small cultural differences can shape your daily experience. These practical tips will help you navigate the city with confidence, avoid common frustrations, and connect more authentically with local life.
1). Book timed tickets for major attractions
The Eiffel Tower, Louvre, and Sainte-Chapelle regularly sell out days or weeks in advance, especially from April through October. Reserving online saves hours of queuing and guarantees entry at your preferred time.
2). Learn basic French greetings
Saying “Bonjour” when entering a shop, “Merci” when leaving, and “S’il vous plaît” when requesting something is not optional in Paris. A simple effort to speak French opens doors and earns warmer treatment from locals.
3). Use the metro like a local
Buy a Navigo Easy card or a carnet of ten single tickets at any station machine. Keep your ticket until you exit the station, as inspectors conduct random checks and fines are steep.
4). Eat on French time
Most restaurants serve lunch from noon to 2:30 PM and dinner from 7:30 PM onward. Arriving at 6 PM often means finding kitchens closed, while dining at 9 PM places you among Parisians.
5). Embrace the café terrace culture
Tables facing the street are for people-watching and cost the same as indoor seats. You can sit for hours with a single espresso, and no waiter will rush you to leave.
6). Watch for pickpockets in tourist zones
The area around the Eiffel Tower, Sacré-Cœur, and major train stations attracts skilled thieves. Keep bags zipped and in front of you, and avoid signing petitions or accepting unsolicited bracelets.
7). Wear comfortable but polished shoes
Parisians walk everywhere, often on cobblestones, so comfort matters. However, you will feel more at home in clean, understated footwear than in bright athletic sneakers.
8). Check museum closure days
Most museums close on Monday or Tuesday, not weekends. The Louvre is closed on Tuesdays, the Musée d’Orsay on Mondays, and many smaller museums follow similar patterns.
9). Carry cash for small purchases
While cards are widely accepted, some markets, bakeries, and cafés have minimum amounts or prefer cash for purchases under ten euros. A few coins also help at public toilets.
10). Plan one neighborhood per half-day
Paris rewards slow exploration. Rather than crisscrossing the city to check off sights, spend a morning in Le Marais and an afternoon in Saint-Germain-des-Prés to feel the rhythm of each area.
Paris changes with the seasons, and so does the best way to experience it. Spring brings cherry blossoms to the Jardin des Plantes and longer evenings along the Seine. Autumn turns the city golden, with crisp air perfect for walking through Montmartre or exploring covered passages. Winter offers lower crowds and cozy café afternoons, while summer fills parks with picnics and open-air festivals.
Whatever the season, the key to enjoying Paris is leaving room for the unexpected. A wrong turn can lead to a hidden courtyard, a neighborhood market, or a boulangerie with the best croissant you have ever tasted. The city rewards curiosity, patience, and a willingness to slow down. That is where its true magic lives.
