15 Best Restaurants in Torremolinos

Torremolinos has come a long way from its days as a quiet fishing village on the Costa del Sol. Today, it is a vibrant seaside town where traditional Andalusian charm meets a modern, cosmopolitan food scene. Whether you are strolling along the palm-lined promenade or exploring the winding streets of La Carihuela, the aromas of grilling seafood, sizzling meats, and fresh Mediterranean produce are never far away.

Dining in Torremolinos is about much more than simply refuelling after a day at the beach. It is a cultural experience shaped by the town’s fishing heritage, its international visitors, and the passionate local chefs who honour time-tested recipes. From humble chiringuitos serving espetos on the sand to elegant dining rooms offering creative tasting menus, there is a table for every taste and budget.

The coastal neighbourhood of La Carihuela is particularly famous for its seafood, while the town centre offers everything from traditional tapas bars to innovative fusion cuisine. Many visitors are surprised to discover that alongside the classic paella and fried fish, Torremolinos has embraced global influences, resulting in a diverse restaurant landscape that rewards curious eaters.

We chose this restaurant because of its many positive Google reviews, and overall it was a very enjoyable experience. The restaurant is located on the first floor, just a short walk from the beach in a small pedestrian street. At lunchtime, we were able to get a table without a reservation, but judging by how busy it became later, I’d definitely recommend booking ahead if you’re planning to come for dinner. The service was quick, friendly and very attentive. I also noticed how patient the staff were with tourists who didn’t speak much Spanish. They really made an effort to communicate with everyone, which was nice to see. We ordered a few classic tapas, including Pimientos de Padrón, chorizo and calamari. Everything arrived quickly, was well prepared and tasted very good. I can understand why this place has so many returning customers. We noticed quite a few people who seemed to be regulars, which is always a good sign. Was it the best tapas restaurant we’ve ever been to? Probably not. But it was a very good meal, excellent service and a pleasant atmosphere. I’d happily come back the next time I’m in Torremolinos.

During our vacation week we ate here 4 times. We really loved the atmosphere, the food, and the service was nice. The tapas portions are really good for small children, the big tapas are sufficient event for an adult, so you can eat at a very reasonable price if you want to, or this gives you a chance to try all the different kind of foods. One bit less good experience was that twice they served us something that we didnt order due to a missunderstanding (language barrier)- and we had to pay attention because it was on the bill too at the end. But they accepted our feedback without any issue, so there was no problem at the end. Overall, I recommend the place.
Damian Kibilko★★★★★
Amazing local food and fresh seafood. Easily accommodated our large group. Very nice service and short waiting times. Excellent local cuisine with a great selection of fresh fish, octopus, and shrimp. Everything tasted top-notch!

***Update*** I went three times in total. I tried out new dishes as you can see from my pictures in this review. Everything is fresh and delicious as always! ***Previous review*** That's it. This is the place guys. I can't describe how happy we were with the food. The grilled tuna was outstanding. The dorade was so good, as well as the tuna salad. They were also so generous with the quantity of food! More so than all the other restaurants we've been to in this city. And it's a lot cheaper! The beer was also cheaper than any other places. I've decided that I'll be coming back here every single day until the end of my vacation.

We decided to visit El Dorado in Torremolinos because of its excellent ratings. The restaurant is quite spacious, so we had no trouble securing a table right away. The highlight of our evening was the service. Our server, Hafid, did an absolutely wonderful job; he was professional, courteous, and incredibly attentive throughout our meal. As for the food, we ordered an assortment of different dishes and everything was delicious. However, the standout was definitely the lamb skewer. It was so good that we couldn't resist ordering a second round! We will definitely return the next time we are in town.

The food and service were outstanding at this unassuming-looking restaurant and the extra little touches really made it perfect for my friends birthday meal ;although we hadn’t said it was a special meal). We received complimentary antipasti while waiting for our starters. Starters and mains were original and tasty. The dessert cocktail was outstanding and the bill arrived with a carafe of Baileys-type digestif. Leisurely but attentive service, blankets for the chilly evening (we sat outside in the sunken patio). We were concerned about a larger party next to us but need not have worried
Simone Alfandari★★★★★
Such a cosy and intimate place. I celebrated my birthday here and really loved all the small attentions. The owner (I think it was him) is fantastic, very attentive and happy to recommend the perfect wine for your dishes. Great wine selection. Food was superlative. They welcomed us with fuet and pan tomate, a small touch that I really appreciated. We tried jamón with langostinos as a starter, a combination I had never tried before and found really interesting. Octopus and duck for the mains, both perfectly cooked and full of flavour. Since it was my birthday, they surprised me with a couple of glasses of cava and a little liquor served in a beautiful ampoule. But what really impressed me was when he noticed we had over ordered and gently asked if we were sure. He explained that the goal is for people to enjoy the meal, not to push extra dishes. We changed the order and he was totally right. This kind of honesty and care says everything about the place. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Mistrapau David★★★★★
A very quiet and cozy restaurant, hidden in the neighbourhood in a beautiful garden. The food was incredible, the plaiting was amazing and had a big variate of food. The service was fast and the staff had an incredible vibe around them. I would highly recommend this place if you want to have a quiet dinner dar from the crowded promenade, but you should probably make a reservation because it has a limited amount of tables.
Rod★★★★☆
Short review for the owners. Some of the Croquettes were cold in the centre and maybe have the sauce over the seabass as a separate option. Everything else was 100%.
Angela Petru★★★★★
If you find yourself on the Costa del Sol, go eat at Caliu. The food is consistently exceeding expectations (we ate there three times during our 10 days stay). The service is outstanding. There is a care and pride in the way you are welcomed, taken care of, and sent on your way, that makes you feel your experience matters. Genuine care and interest in the ingredients and in the wines offered is reflected in the menu and wine list. A solid attention to details makes one want to eat there again and again. Caliu is unpretentious and understated. It is lovely, and authentic and I cannot recommend it enough.

Friendly service and a beautiful place. I ordered a custom burger with goat cheese and they were happy to make it just the way I wanted. I think adding a goat cheese burger to the menu would be a great idea. 😅The lighting in the evening creates a really pleasant atmosphere.😍

Amazing food and a lovely atmosphere! I visited two days in a row—first for a burger and then for the tenderloin. Both were the best I’ve ever eaten. The doneness and flavor were perfect every time. A must-visit!

One of the best meals I ever had! Lovely carpaccio and salmon. The online menu can make you a bit seasick with the moving images, but that’s a part of the maritime experience I recon. Impossible to give anything but 5 stars. Thanks!
Lina Qasem★★★★★
An incredible experience! The food is delicious with stunning presentation, and their premium olive oil and olives are world-class. The staff are exceptionally friendly, making this a must-visit spot in Malaga😍
Waleed D★☆☆☆☆
Completely incompetent and rude. We waited for over 15 minutes by the sign looking at tons of open tables. The waiters were clearly struggling and decided to just ignore the multiple groups of us standing there until we all finally walked out. If you are that overwhelmed, you must at least make the effort to tell the people in line if they will be served or not instead of ignoring them. If you can't even acknowledge customers when half your restaurant is empty, you shouldn't be open. UPDATE IN RESPONSE TO THE OWNER: Thank you for your response. I appreciate when management engages with feedback, though I must clarify several significant inaccuracies and misidentifications in your reply. 1. Mistaken Identity & What Actually Happened You have completely confused my party with another group. I was not the lady with the baby, nor did I cut in line. My group arrived after those families. While one of those frustrated mothers eventually bypassed your "Wait to be Seated" sign to get your attention, my group strictly respected your signage. We stood by the sign for over 15 minutes without a single word of acknowledgment from your staff, despite half the restaurant being empty. 2. The Multiple Reviews The other reviews were posted by the distinct individuals in my party who experienced the exact same neglect. If every group that walked out frustrated that Monday night left a review, your rating would be much lower. We are simply reflecting the collective sentiment of the guests you ignored. 3. Accountability & Professional Advice Communication over Avoidance: No one expects perfection, and every restaurant experiences overwhelming shifts. However, the solution is communication, not avoidance. A simple, "We are short-staffed tonight and there will be a major delay," takes five seconds. It respects the guests' time and allows them to decide whether to stay or leave. Leadership: Publicly blaming your cook and throwing your staff under the bus is not a reflection of strong leadership. The failure that night lay in front-of-house management and customer communication. Hospitality Begins at the Door: You noted that we shouldn't criticize because we didn't eat. I deliberately left the "Food" rating blank to be fair. But service and atmosphere dictate the experience. Some of the best culinary memories are made in humble self-service spots precisely because the staff treats people with respect. Had your team simply informed us that you couldn't accept more tables, we would have completely understood and happily returned another night. I hope you take this as constructive feedback to improve your crisis management and guest communication moving forward.

I came here for cocktails. The bartender makes the best cocktails, the ambiance is nice! A pleasant experience overall.
Roman Filipowicz★★★★★
Went for a meal here during our holiday and really enjoyed it. Started with a bowl each of the salmorejo which is a delicious cold, creamy garlic and tomato soup. I ate round the cold boiled egg as I'm not a fan but the soup itself was excellent. For main I had the pork knuckle and it was an enormous hung of tender meat well seasoned and served with fried sliced potatoes. Service and location were both great. Not the cheapest or most traditional restaurant in Torremolinos however definitely worth a visit.
James Tredray★★★★★
Absolutely amazing experience at Buddha Beach in Torremolinos! From the moment we arrived, everything was perfect. The setting is stunning—right on the beachfront with a beautiful, relaxed atmosphere that makes it easy to unwind and enjoy the day. The food and drinks were excellent, fresh, and well-presented, and the cocktails were especially good. The music and vibe throughout the day created the perfect balance between chilled and lively without ever feeling overwhelming. A special thank you to our waiter, Alramiro, who truly made the experience unforgettable. He was incredibly friendly, attentive, and professional, making sure we had everything we needed at all times. Service like that really elevates the whole visit. Overall, a fantastic beach club with great energy, great service, and a great location. I would highly recommend it and will definitely be coming back!

Amazing experience at Zabor Feten in Torremolinos. The atmosphere was super fun and welcoming, and the staff were genuinely great, friendly, funny, energetic, and always making customers smile. Service was impeccable from start to finish. We were served very quickly, the team was extremely attentive, and they constantly checked on us to make sure everything was perfect. We had the Russian salad and a ribeye steak, and both were absolutely delicious. Everything was spot on. Highly recommended if you want great food, great vibes, and excellent service.

Exceptional service and atmosphere. It feels like an elevated tapas restaurante where you can get delicious and creative combinations of tapas. This was the best tapas bar we went in the whole Málaga. Really recommend the patacones and the chocolate cake for dessert.

Every time I visit Torremolinos, I will always spend an evening at Ibiza Restaurant. - The staff are wonderful: They spend genuine time with their guests, ensure you know exactly what you are ordering, and go the extra mile for everyone. - The food is always sensational: This time we ordered a few starters, followed by the beef and pork tenderloins for our main course. Everything was beautifully prepared, excellently presented, and tasted amazing. - The atmosphere was fantastic: The restaurant was busy, lively, and buzzing with energy. - The perfect finish: The complimentary desserts and shots at the end of the meal were the perfect final touch to a great evening. I hope to be back very soon!

From the moment we sat down, this place set the bar high. The appetizers were hands down the highlight of the night. The flavor combinations were creative, beautifully presented, and arrived piping hot. For the main course, the quality everything tasted fresh, well seasoned, and made with real care. Great food, wonderful atmosphere, and attentive service to match. We’re already planning our next visit!

Visiting this restaurant was a true highlight of our five-day holiday in the city. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and we were blown away by the food, especially the bacalao and the salmon which were both absolutely delicious. Despite the high quality of the dishes and the friendly, attentive service, we were pleasantly surprised to find that it was great value for the price. It felt like a special dining experience without breaking the bank. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this spot to other travelers looking for an excellent meal.

We visited here on 2 separate occasions as reccommended by a friend and both times were fabulous. The meals and wine we had were amazing. The sea bass was delicious and the pork & lamb dishes were some of the best we have ever had. Together with the lovely and friendly service this made coming here our best dining experiences on our holiday. We hope to visit again next time.

We went to Ambrosia in Torremolinos last Saturday, and it was an amazing experience!!! You can really tell how much love and dedication goes into everything they do. The food was absolutely delicious, and every dish was beautifully presented. For me, it's the perfect combination of amazing food, creativity, and a place where you feel genuinely welcome. You can see the passion behind every detail. If you're in the area, I'd definitely recommend giving it a try. We can't wait to go back!

We visited on a Sunday evening after choosing this small gem based on previous reviews. We managed to book a table that afternoon just as they were closing, and we were really looking forward to it. We were not disappointed — the 5-star reviews are absolutely justified. From the moment we arrived, we received a warm and friendly welcome from the two owners, which set the tone for the evening. They talked us through the menu with real passion and pride, clearly confident in the quality of their food. As we were struggling to choose, they suggested a tasting menu of six dishes, which we immediately opted for — and it turned out to be a fantastic decision. The meal began with the best croquettes I have ever had, followed by a beautifully cooked fish course with crispy skin and perfectly flaky white flesh. Each dish was presented and explained with genuine enthusiasm. The mushroom risotto was another highlight — creamy, rich, and full of flavour. Easily one of the best risottos I’ve had. To finish, we had a chocolate dessert with a hint of chili and raspberries, which was outstanding. We had dined at a Michelin-starred restaurant in Malaga the night before, and I mentioned to the owner that this dessert surpassed the one we had there. This is exceptional cooking from a small kitchen that rivals anything in the area. It deserves a place on everyone’s list for a truly memorable evening in a warm and personal atmosphere. If we could give it 10 stars, we would. We would have returned again during our stay if they had been open. It’s located about five minutes from the beach, just up a side road near the Hotel Palia Las Palomas — well worth seeking out.
Paul Burkley★★★★★
We had a wonderful experience dining here. My wife and I had the 6 course tasting menu. We had booked in advance, and I had noted that one of us was vegetarian. The meal was fantastic, each course beautifully presented, thoughtfully put together with beautiful flavours and balance, and passionately and proudly explained to us. The vegetarian menu was given just as much care and attention as the meat/fish dishes, and definitely didn't disappoint! The staff were fabulous, warm and sincere throughout, and they couldn't do enough for us. Overall we loved our meal, and definitely hope to return. Highly recommend a visit (it's a little off the beaten track, but do seek it out).
Valerie Aoun★★★★★
The food at Ambrosia was delicious !! Fresh ingredients, all home made, creative recipes, cooked to perfection. We were very positively surprised to find this hidden gem in Torremolinos. The service is also very good, knowledgeable and attentionate. We sat outside and enjoyed the calm breeze. There was not so many other people in the restaurant and the atmosphere inside could be improved with better lighting, furniture and little renovations. Otherwise we highly recommend this restaurant

This place is amazing!! Very well executed menu, taking you on a gastronomical sensory journey around the continents, taking in sight, sounds, smells and taste on every delicious course. An exclusive, intimate venue, if you are lucky enough to get a table. The presentation and description of each course is impeccable and the staff are truly passionate about what they deliver each evening. Highly recommend, but book ahead to guarantee your place at this exclusive venue 😉

If you are in any way a foodie, you've just got to go! 8 courses of amazing food, beautiful presentation with atmosphere aromas and music changed to suit every course. The service was impeccable. I'd definitely recommend the wine pairing. An all round success and very reasonably priced for a tasting menu!!! ✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️ The added point of interest is that they don't show you the menu until the end... leaves you full of anticipation

What an amazing experience! From the minute you walk in the door, you are made so very welcome. I was a solo diner, but not once did I feel uncomfortable or on my own during the 4 hours I was there. Every dish was amazing, each one being explained as they were delivered. The attention to detail in superb. I would advise booking well ahead of time as there are approx. 20 seats here, even though I was on a waiting list, but did get a table.
Ulrika Rylander★★★★★
This is the ultimate experience! If you're looking for a combination of incredible flavors, a delightful atmosphere, and an unforgettable adventure, then this is the place for you. It's not just a simple dinner, but a complete night filled with excitement and goodness. From the enticing aromas to the delectable taste and perfectly paired wines, it's truly AMAZING👌. Dining here is an absolute must-do!
Brian Martin★☆☆☆☆
Extremely poor customer service and very disappointing experience overall. I reached out multiple times over 2 months in advance to organise a booking for 11 people for a friend’s 40th birthday. I was told that anything over 8 people would require booking the entire restaurant as a private dining experience, which more than doubles the price per person (from €69.50 to €133). I then asked a very reasonable question—whether we could instead book two tables (one of 5 and one of 6). I received no response to that question at all. Only when I followed up again today did they reply, with no apology for the lack of communication, and informed me that one of the tables had now already been booked, so it was no longer possible anyway. When I expressed my disappointment, the response I received was curt and dismissive, bordering on sarcastic. For a restaurant positioning itself as a premium experience, this level of communication and customer care is simply not acceptable. It’s left a very bad taste. (I should also add that on a previous visit, one of the courses involved staff dressing up and mimicking Chinese people to music, which felt outdated and culturally insensitive.) Overall, not an experience I would recommend.

Great Tapas restaurant. Our waiter was great with suggestions. Everything he recommended was delicious. This restaurant was unexpected and the best we ate while we were visiting. The food was so good we reordered 2 of the tapas. Service was quick for the quality of food and friendly. Pricing was very reasonable for the food. I would definitely recommend for everyone especially foodies.

I had the pleasure of visiting a wonderful restaurant in the heart of Tomrimoilnos town, thanks to a local friend who kindly took me there. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it a truly cozy spot. The food was absolutely delightful, especially the tuna with eggs, which I highly recommend! Attended without a booking on a weekday evening. The waiter, whilst working solo, did a great job serving everyone in the restaurant and was very polite & professional. The food was all very tasty and competitively priced. Definitely one for to return to so we can sample the rest of the menu ! =p

Probably the best food we had in Spain! We ordered 5 tapas and every single one was amazing. My personal favorite was the tuna wonton with quail egg, but everything was flavorful and carefully crafted.

All the tapas here were sooooo good. I loved the spicy potatoes as well as the blue cheese and tomato jam croquetas in particular. The oxtail sandwich and duck confit croissant were also delicious. Definitely have tapas here when you're in Torremolinos!

The restaurant made a great impression on me. The dishes were truly delicious – especially the mussels in their deep blue shells, served in a divine, wonderfully rich sauce. The fish was fresh and perfectly cooked, with great attention to detail. The service was top-notch – friendly, professional, and always attentive. Definitely a place worth coming back to!

Excellent food and service. The fixed price meal for 18 euros was excellently prepared and delicious in every way. They offer a wide variety of dishes, and it is completely worth every penny that you pay.

You cannot pass up trying this fabulous little place, the food is superb! The service is friendly and very fast paced, the decor is like something from an 80s sitcom but it's not shabby it's retro chic. We got the pork cheeks, the stuffed mushrooms with goats cheese and walnuts, the lamb shank, the seafood casserole (which had beautifully cooked salmon and prawns) and the braised oxtail. Every last part of every meal was completely delicious, and you will not leave feeling hungry at all. 100% would come back again

Very friendly service. Delicious food, great flavors. The flavors were all on point with traditional Mexican flavors. The mole is delicious, with it can with rice so I could eat more of it. It’s served with 4 tortillas. The chicken enchiladas was also good. It’s served with a salsa verde. We shared sopes with carnitas meat, which were also very good. Very inviting atmosphere. The margaritas looked delicious 😋 Gracias chef!

Found La Patrona on tiktok and thought we’d give it a go… best decision we made! The staff were phenomenal and the food was truly outstanding. We got the jalapeño poppers & baby nachos to share then got a quesadilla & enchiladas. Such a feast and was all so fresh and flavourful. Their frozen margaritas were amazing and so many different flavours to choose from. They have an extensive vegan menu too which is quite rare to find! We enjoyed this experience so much that we ended up going back the following evening! Can’t recommend enough.

Set back from the street, this Mexican eatery is one of several restaurants in a charming white washed enclave near the center of Torremolinos. Service was friendly, atmosphere is chill and inviting. We tried the local beer, chicken mole, and nachos. Beer was good, nachos and mole were not. The nachos use cheese from a can, a disservice to the wonderful cheeses that come from Spain. The tortilla chips are too thick and fried too hard making them unpleasant to bite. The topping is made as a spread, combing all the nacho ingredients together into a gooey mess. Applied separately might have made the dish more appealing. The chicken mole shreds the chicken into tiny pieces, taking away from the "chicken" part of the dish, the mole sauce lacks the mole flavor that comes from the hundreds of chili ingredients used to perfection in Mexico.

Great food, service and seating on the patio. Nachos and spicy margaritas were definitely a highlight. Would recommend to anyone!

We stumbled upon a true gem! The vibe here is immediately warm and inviting, perfectly complemented by truly phenomenal service. Our server and the host made us feel instantly taken care of, and when we entrusted them with our food recommendations, they certainly came through. The meal was a revelation—every dish was crafted with vibrant, high-quality ingredients, delivering a remarkable depth of flavor and punch. Hearing their story, just five months into their adventure, was inspiring. We happily wish them another five years (and more!). We'll be back soon.

The interior is beautiful, but I stayed on the terrace like the other customers to watch football. The food was very well prepared; the service could have been a little more attentive to customers, but they were always friendly in welcoming people.

I was visiting Torremolinos from Valencia over the weekend and ended up coming back to this spot several times. The food is absolutely amazing, and the owners are some of the kindest and most hospitable people I’ve ever met. I would definitely recommend anyone to grab a seat on their beautiful terrace and enjoy the experience themselfs!

We came here for the second time and once again had a great experience. We enjoyed amazing tapas, all very fresh and delicious. The waiter and the owner were incredibly friendly and welcoming. You immediately feel comfortable here because they really make an effort to take care of their guests and create a warm atmosphere. The service is attentive, personal, and genuinely kind. We will definitely come back again. Highly recommended!

Had a great meal at Casa Bistro. The burger and chips were excellent — the meat tasted really fresh, juicy, and full of flavour. My partner had the goulash, which was absolutely delicious too. Friendly service, lovely atmosphere, and overall a really enjoyable experience. We’ll definitely be back!

Wanted something a bit different for our anniversary and this place hit the spot. Great food. Nice wine. Very helpful, attentive staff. IMO found the food that little bit special to make this place a must visit. Would recommend booking, which we did by Facebook messenger. We'll be coming back

The food is AMAZING! The service is outstanding, it is english-speaking friendly. Prices are fair, the menu is like nowhere else. Reservation in prior for the weekend is mandatory. Definitely will visit again!

What a nice experience. The food here is extraordinary good. We had the eggplant with mozzarella, the tagine of the house, the duck breast and the chicken breast. All of them were spot on! This cook knows his/her/their business. Tender meat, balanced spices and overall really tasty. Staff is very friendly and forthcoming. If for some reason you have a problem with the LGBTQ community you'd better pass right through to the McDonalds. For the rest of you, this is worth a visit!

Absolutely an amazing restaurant!! Found it accidentally and didn’t have a reservation. It was a chilly night and we started with an outdoor table. We were treated to blankets and a heater while we waited for an indoor spot to become available! I honestly could not say enough good things about both the service and The delicious food!! Well worth a visit! Personable, friendly, helpful staff who made us feel very welcome💚 A big thank you to Sven especially and of course, the chef too☘️

***What an absolute gem of a place*** We were invited by friends to join them at Casero. The food was outstanding and the service was impeccable. Sven and his team should be so proud of themselves because this is one of the best restaurants in Torremolinos. Me and my husband has the prawns and the tuna to start and both of them were of Michelin standard. I then went for the lamb tagine and my husband the chicken. It was so tasty I was actually using my fingers to clean the plate and bowl. I couldn't handle dessert but they looked so good. For drinks I highly recommend the white sangria, I've never tasted anything so good. We come to Torremolinos every year and this is our first time but it won't be our last. Thank you guys.

Had a good experience at Angus Playamar. I ordered the 500 gram steak at it was prepared really well and tasted delicious. The atmosphere was really relaxed with some live music. The staff was really helpfull and quick to the table if we needed something. We only ordered the main course, for this reason the food took a bit more time but not crazy long or something. This restaurant is a bit more higher end in pricing and in atmosphere, keep this in mind. I would definitely recommend going here when you are in Torremolinos and looking for a good steak.

Came for a family meal while on holiday. They served beautiful steak, pulled beef sliders and salmon with seasonal veg. We we're really looked after and the food was amazing!

Ate here on a recent holiday and food was fantastic. The pork chop was unbelievable. Accommodated us without a reservation even though there were very busy. Staff were very friendly. Definitely would eat her again.

The ribeye was cooked to absolute perfection, incredibly tender, and packed with flavor. Pairing it with the Angus house wine, crisp chips, and savory mushrooms made for the perfect dinner. Great food, lovely atmosphere right by the sea, and excellent service. We will definitely be back!

Amazing food. Amazing waitress. I can't complain about the service at all... until the bill. We were charged an extra €3 for two bread rolls that we never ordered. We thought they were just part of the meal. I ordered a Classic Coke and even said I wanted the one with sugar, but I was given Coke Zero instead. We were also asked if we wanted a jug of water. We said no because the Coke was enough, but they brought one anyway. Of course, we were charged another €3 for something we didn't order. My girlfriend had a side salad with her burger. It was a very small bowl, and we were charged €3.50 for it. There was no price listed for the side salad on the menu; otherwise, she would have chosen not to have it. It's very disappointing because the food was amazing, but because of these unexpected charges, we wouldn't go back.

There is the one perfect locale, On top of Torremolinos in a sunlit ideal. Where home is not to be missed, Where worries get to be dismissed. A jewel for innovation and wonder, Quality that cannot be measured by number. Food takes your soul and you'll comply You’ll fall in love without asking why. And wine that dances through the glass It’s unique, making your evening last. The Spanish culture, warm and bold, Will be the memory you’ll hold. Do not just walk by, make time, And cherish an evening divine. This place totally shaped my understanding of Tapas. Their food is innovative and something to yearn. The Salmorejo is spectacular. The orange Salmorejo is a wonder. The most delicate Cod I have ever had. My only regret here was ordering the Salmon, which was great! But it lacked the innovative spirit. Stick to Spanish tapas and you'll wish the evening never ends.

Dining at Calendula is the kind of experience that quietly convinces you a Michelin star is inevitable. Chef Cristina cooks with confidence and imagination, delivering plates that feel both precise and deeply personal. The service is polished and genuinely warm, setting the tone from the first bite: an incredible Vieira Carpaccio, pristine and expressive, a masterclass in restraint. The Tuna Duo is nothing short of spectacular—silky tuna tartare paired with perfectly seared tuna—lifted beautifully by a chilled glass of Spanish Albariño that ties the flavors together with elegance. Then comes the Cochinillo: exquisite, crisp where it should be, tender where it must be, and handled with the respect this classic deserves. Desserts here are thoughtful and playful. The white chocolate with pistachio and brownie sand is unforgettable and my clear favorite, while the brownie with vanilla ice cream offers a refreshingly modern take that defies expectations. You will be impressed—Calendula is fine dining with soul, and a destination worth seeking out.

Tips for Dining in Torremolinos
A little local knowledge goes a long way when eating out on the Costa del Sol. Understanding dining times, ordering customs, and seasonal specialities will help you eat better, avoid tourist traps, and enjoy a more authentic experience. Keep these practical tips in mind as you plan your meals.

First, embrace Spanish meal times. Lunch is typically served from 1:30 pm to 4:00 pm, while dinner rarely starts before 8:30 pm. Many kitchens close between lunch and dinner, so plan accordingly if you want a late-afternoon meal. Second, look for the daily set menu, known as the menú del día, which often includes three courses, bread, and a drink for a fixed price. It is one of the best-value ways to eat well at lunchtime. Third, do not skip the espetos. These skewered sardines grilled over open flames on the beach are a defining local speciality, best enjoyed with a squeeze of lemon and a cold beer. Fourth, be cautious with paella offered all day in heavily touristed areas. Authentic paella is usually prepared to order, takes time, and is best eaten at lunch rather than dinner. Fifth, check if bread and olives are complimentary or charged. In many places, they are brought automatically and added to the bill unless you decline them politely.

Torremolinos rewards travellers who take the time to explore beyond the main promenade. A short walk inland often reveals family-run tapas bars and neighbourhood restaurants where the cooking is heartfelt and the prices are lower. Wherever you choose to eat, arriving with an open mind and a healthy appetite will ensure your dining experiences become some of the best memories of your visit to this sunny corner of southern Spain.
