15 Best Restaurants in Reims

For anyone visiting the capital of the Champagne region, the grandeur of the Gothic cathedral and the prestige of the world-famous maisons de Champagne often dominate the itinerary. Yet, beyond the chalk cellars and historic coronation sites lies a vibrant culinary scene waiting to be discovered.

Reims has quietly shed its reputation as a city solely for oenophiles, emerging as a genuine gastronomic destination in its own right. From cozy bistros tucked away on cobblestone side streets to sleek, modern dining rooms helmed by innovative chefs, the city offers a remarkable diversity of flavors.

The local cuisine is deeply rooted in the terroir of the surrounding Marne region, celebrating humble yet hearty ingredients. Expect to find rich stews, delicate freshwater fish, and the famous pink biscuits of Reims woven into both traditional and contemporary menus.

While Champagne remains the undisputed drink of choice, the restaurant scene here is about so much more than just the bubbles. It is about the artistry of the chefs, the warmth of the service, and the joy of a perfectly executed meal in a city steeped in history.

Navigating the dining landscape can be overwhelming, especially when trying to distinguish the truly exceptional from the merely touristy. This curated guide aims to cut through the noise and highlight the establishments that consistently deliver memorable experiences.

Whether you are seeking a Michelin-starred tasting menu, a rustic plate of charcuterie, or a modern take on a French classic, Reims has a table for you. Here are the fifteen best restaurants the city has to offer right now.

What makes this place really special is that it’s run and managed by Jérôme himself, who also cooks everything on the menu- the food is absolutely delicious - authentic, traditional French cuisine! The atmosphere is just as impressive. Jérôme has an incredible sense of style, and every detail in the restaurant is thoughtfully curated by him. What made the experience unforgettable, though, was Jérôme himself. He is a truly warm and attentive host who clearly takes pride in making sure his guests feel welcome and looked after. At the end of our meal, he even gifted me a piece of his homemade savoury cake (“cake salé”), which was such a thoughtful and generous gesture. I left feeling genuinely impressed and grateful for the experience. This is more than just a place to eat - it’s a place to connect, enjoy, and appreciate real passion for food and hospitality. Thank you , Jérôme! We are definitely coming back 🙂

We arrived slightly late (by French standards!) for lunch so there was only space at the bar. Jolly host Jerome looked after us until we were the last ones there! We had terrine, chicken leg, pork cheek, a plate of cheese, damson tart, chocolate torte, multiple glasses of champagne and red wine, with a couple of coffees, too. Old school but the best school. Lovely lunch!!

Best food and dessert of my life. We started with a wonderful salad, chicken sausage and ratatouille and the best dessert- apricot cheesecake. The service was from the nicest man ever. According to other reviews he’s the one man show. So sweet and really did a great job serving everyone in the restaurant. We were pressed with time to catch the train and he gave us a Tupperware container for the dessert to go. The best experience ever. A definite repeat when we come back. Thank you very much!

This was the best meal I've had in France!!! The owner was unbelievable. He not only serves, cooks but also entertains his guests. His server was also amazing. Helped me pair my lunch with a drink and with flair. The cheese bread that was brought out before my meal was perfect. It was light, airy and moist. The salmon was my main. Cooked to perfection. The rustic baked baby potatoes and puree of cauliflower, cabbage and celery paired beautifully. For dessert I had the flan... I dont even know how he could could be so talented. At first I thought the crust was too thick but I was wrong. As a pastry chef myself I couldn't have anticipated the absolute perfection of my meal. He's a Picasso for your palate. Bravo monsieur. Can not recommend this restaurant enough!!! Also Kayla was a Superb hostess❤️
Marc Augenstreich★★★★★
I waited a bit to publish this. I went there many times. My mind is set : very good typical French home cuisine, nice wine and Champagne choice. People are here to enjoy a quiet atmosphere, Jérôme is a wonderful host. He does everything himself ! If you plan to go there on your way back from a visit to the cellars near by : book with a large advanced time schedule. Looking forward to returning there soon.

A perfect restaurant in the heart of Reims! Traditional and elegant at the same time with a nice menu and perfect service and serving! We were a group of 7 and reserved the table downstairs where it is such a good vibe, and CAROL suggested us good wine and special herbal digestives ! A must go in Reims!👏👏👏

World class. Not to impress the reader, BUT: I’ve eaten at several 3-star restaurants around the world and more 2 and 1 star restaurants than I can recall. This place deserves 1 star without question. Delicious food, every course, with subtle surprising flavors throughout. Feel like you’re at home, very friendly. And the price is a bargain frankly. Bravo!
Harminder Aujla★★★★★
Lovely Cosy Family run business!! The husband is the chef and his wife in the front. The food was 10/10. The flavours were next well, all food was cooked to perfection. My lamb was so juicy melted in my mouth and my partners cod dish was also cooked to perfection. They have a lovely cave style dining area.
Beth G★★★★★
The food is amazing ..... well above average and well priced!!!! If you make a reservation ( or get there early) go downstairs as the atmosphere is like a cave (white brick). The girl who received us was a bit aloof. However the other server and the main server (maybe owner) were so over the top wonderful!!!!! Atmosphere, culinary excellence (get the trio of fish with champagne sauerkraut and fois gras) and personal service make this a must do in Reins. If you are English speaking ask for the tablet with the menu.
Joe King★★★★★
We turned up on a Friday evening without a reservation and we were lucky enough to get the last available table downstairs in the 'cave'! What an incredible experience we had, the starter of snails and mushroom is stunning both in presentation and flavour. The main course of lamb was recommended by our wonderful waitress and it was beyond our expectation! The desert of Creme Brulee and Chocolate fondant were both perfect. All topped off in a stunning environment with beautiful champagne... What more could you want from a dinner in Reims!

Great food, but missing a personal touch. The food at Racine was truly great, and I loved the creative concept of the chef’s drawings explaining the plates. However, it doesn't quite replace true, in-person interaction. While the staff is very nice, the service felt practical and mechanical rather than warm and full of personality. Unfortunately, the experience was also disrupted by a persistent fly that kept buzzing around my food and glasses, which was super annoying— especially for a total bill of €499.60. It’s a good experience for the food alone, but complete and seamless hospitality is the only thing that would make me want to go back.
Samantha Wang★☆☆☆☆
I had dinner here last night and was very disappointed. I was charged for an extra glass of champagne that I neither ordered nor received. I contacted the restaurant and even provided a photo showing it was never served. Their response was that they weren't sure whether I had received it, but they would refund me anyway. This was a very poor way to handle the situation and left me feeling as though my honesty was being questioned. The meal itself was average and didn't feel like a two-star fine dining experience. We also ordered the wine pairing, but were surprised to be served sake, very ordinary wines, and rosé Champagne, which didn't feel well matched to the menu. Overall, the food, service, and handling of the billing issue were disappointing. I wouldn't recommend it.

Amazing experience with Racine. We book for lunch on the counter and watch the whole process how the chefs are preparing each dishes. Service is 5 stars and food is amazing! Definitely worth the price. Highly recommend to book ahead of time as we have seen people walk in and didn’t get a table. Thank you chef Kazu for the amazing food and presentation.

Excellent, definitely in our list of best Michelin star restaurants. All dishes were amazing, especially the starters and the desserts. We also took the champagne parring which was very good. Service was also on point and very friendly.

Excellent 2 star restaurant with every dish very meticulously prepared and crafted. Price is aligned with other 2 star. You will definitely taste and see the Japanese influence. Professional and warm service and you get to speak to the chef and he also cones to serve you too. We opted got cheaper wine and the sommelier was very helpful and great suggestions

This place was absolutely fantastic. So good, we made sure to come back again the next day!! We tried all dishes- steak, chicken and the smash burger and all of them were superb!!! Amazing service provided by Abdallah. He went above and beyond to make every visit seem more special then the last.

I had a great time at this restaurant. I chose the set menu, and they served the steak frites two times so it wouldn’t get cold. I had great service by Abdallah. I would recommend getting a reservation. Being there at 19 was perfect. I got good service and the food before it got really busy.

If a place has a small set menu, you expect them to be experts in what they do, and let me tell you, this place is expert in beef, fries, and addictive special green sauce! One of the best, most surprising meals of our life. The entrecôte was cooked to the rare perfection my partner asked for. I thoroughly enjoyed my smash burger drenched in the green sauce. The fries - crispy, salty perfection in unlimited quantity if you so choose. If you order the entrecôte, you have the option to have two (included) courses of it. To top it all off, the service, was fast, great, and super friendly, particularly our good homie Abdallah, he was always smiling! Would HIGHLY recommend.

I LOVED the sauce that came with the steak and fries. Great ambiance. I recommend especially during the weekday. The service was great! Abdallah is a kind waiter

We had the set lunch and is really worth it. I ordered the chicken breast. The fries were good, homemade sauce to go with the chicken was heavy but necessary. The chicken breast was dry. Service was very good. The crepe Suzette was very good.

3,9/5 Been wanting to try this new restaurant for quite some time; having tried & enjoyed its previous version (la table amoureuse - Anna S) several years ago. Unfortunately the experience was not the same. The decor is a bit antique and traditional, with very stark colors (violet especially!). Seating is comfortable enough, and kudos to our waiter (Armando) with his unique charm and energy. Tried the foie gras with strawberry: 2 nice pieces served with a brioche bread, but lacked in seasoning (no salt flakes), the brioche was too dry, and the mix with strawberry was somewhat nice but lacked in substance. We also tried the Carpaccio of sea bass with green tea - a strong disappointment, much red fruits but the overall flavor was very lacking. The Gilt-head bream & roasted eggplants didn't improve our impression: the filets were not fresh, the taste was that of store-bought fish, the vegetable mixture (eggplants, cucumbers, spring onions, confit tomatoes, peaches, and verbena) had a nice flavor to it, fresh with well cooked vegetables. The best dish that we DID enjoy was the Stuffed zucchini parmesan cream: delicious creamy flavorful sauce, and nicely cooked vegetables. We also opted for a Mailly Champagne bottle, only to be told that it wasn't available anymore (although on the menu). However, the Leclerc-Briant was an exquisite choice: smooth, balanced, and fragrant. A bit torn for a first experience, with some highs but major lows… especially the hefty prices! Still some way to go to get back to the previous level in my mind!

Excellent food and service! Everything was prepared so delicately and deliciously - the seasoning was on point, fresh ingredients, well-plated in appropriate portions. Highly recommended!

We were visiting Reims just for a few days and went to this restaurant twice because it was so amazing . Service and food was unbelievable!
Kiley Surma★☆☆☆☆
I have to admit, after high expectations, this was one of my most disappointing dining experience in recent years. Made reservations in advance for New Year’s Eve, we arrived on time were quickly served an amuse bouche and first round of champagne, but after that, things turned quickly… or not so quickly. We soon found ourselves waiting for our entrees for 1h 10 min after our arrival. While this is most definitely a problem, this was exacerbated by the fact that we were never served water, and never had an opportunity to order more wine because there were only two servers on a fully reserved night. By this point we were ready to leave and expressed this to the servers. An initial apology was made and we were asked to stay… unfortunately we fell for it, until the next plate arrived. The foie gras was foie gras, nothing revelatory, but the next dish (scallops) was lacking. The scallops weren’t anything exceptional, yet they were swimming in a purée that lacked flavor and substance. The final heartbreaker of the evening was the dessert - a poached pear with cream, biscuit rose, and what tasted like sugared ice - just fell flat. There was absolutely not any taste nor flavor for any of the items in this dish. To add to all of this, the restaurant was freezing, especially the bathroom, and the decor has fallen behind times. Overall, for over €220, nothing was up to the level of expectation for quality, service, nor atmosphere. We requested an immediate refund in person but were refused.

A little gem with fantastic service. The restaurant is charming, cozy, and full of character. The food was carefully prepared, creative, and absolutely delicious. Warmly recommended to anyone looking for an intimate dining experience with superb service and tasty flavors.

A fantastic dining experience! The prawn risotto was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. We also had dessert, which was equally tasty—a great way to end the meal. The interior design is beautiful and creates a wonderful atmosphere. Pro tip: You definitely need to visit the restrooms! The design and decor there are very interesting and worth a look. The service was top-notch, and the champagne was excellent. I highly recommend this place for both the food and the unique vibe!

Absolutely fabulous! The décor is stunning, the atmosphere relaxed and welcoming, and the food was simply to die for. A truly memorable brunch experience in Reims. We will definitely be back!" 🍾✨

I had a wonderful experience at Harold Le Restaurant in Reims. I stopped in for an Americano and a slice of cake, and both were absolutely delightful — the coffee was smooth and well-balanced, and the cake was fresh and delicious. The service stood out just as much as the food; the staff were genuinely friendly, attentive, and accommodating, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The restaurant itself is beautifully artistic, with thoughtful details in its design that make it feel both stylish and inviting. A lovely bonus is the gift shop next door, filled with exquisite and unique pieces that complement the restaurant’s creative ambiance. It’s the kind of place where you can enjoy not only excellent food and coffee, but also a truly memorable experience. Highly recommended if you’re in Reims!

Quite possibly the best meal of our entire European vacation! Quiet tucked away courtyard was an absolute treat for our weekday lunch before wine tasting. The service was incredibly warm and attentive. The food hard to beat - the gazpacho was perfect for a hot day! Highly recommend Harold to all in Reims.

Really great little place tucked off the busy street. The staff was really efficient and accomodating particularly going the extra mile for children to enjoy there experience too! Two swaps from the kids menu! Really nice dishes, fresh food. I recommend for a nice experience and a break away the hustle and bustle while remaining very affordable (and not chain food).

Found this restaurant via the Michelin Guide and made a reservation in advance. It’s a small restaurant on a quiet residential street. The food was excellent. We both took the 3 course menu. Each dish was well presented and had a good balance of flavours. The trio of desserts is well worth trying. Unfortunately, the service was rather disappointing. The waitress was not the most engaging - very little eye contact, no explanation of the menu, never asked if we enjoyed the food, no “thank you” after I paid the bill. These small details throughout the evening left us feeling rather unwelcome by the end. This was despite me having a good level of French and us both trying our best to smile and be warm during our interactions. The reception we received here really stood out to us compared to other restaurants we’ve visited this week in the Champagne region, which is a shame.
Doosan Baik★★★★★
The restaurant is truly a hidden gem. I was so happy to find this restaurant and have an amazing dinner at a very reasonable price. I especially enjoyed the mushroom soup - which was perfect for a cold winter night. The neighborhood is a bit out of way from the city center, but it is a very easy tram ride from the cathedral. Definitely worth the visit!
Felice Morcombe★★★★★
Amazing food quality and the wine was lovely. It was a simple menu with two set menus (25 or 35€) or a la carte. There were 4 different options for each course. Everything we ate was exceptional and beautifully presented. The waitress was quite brief with us but I belive that was simply a language barrier (no English spoken by her and only a little french by us!) as she was happily chatting with some other customers. Excellent preventative measures in place for covid also.

Terrific local restaurant. Wonderful food, fresh and creative while still within the boundaries of classic French style. Excellent flavors, warm and attentive service. Highly recommended.

We arrived here on a Tuesday night with a reservation, but were shown a table that was less than ideal. It was so hot & noisy inside that we decided to relocate to the terrace area. It was better. We shared a baked cheese with honey dish. Then our mains of pepper steak & honey glazed salmon were fine, but not impressive. The salad was very basic. It was an adequate meal.
Eerik Heijari★★★★★
Easy French dinner with very informal setting and relaxed atmosphere. Food was really good, especially the brisket and the ribs. Fries were excellent. Personally I would prefer actual mayonnaise or more rich sauce to accompany the ketchup. No reservation needed, just queue a bit and voila! Recommended😊
Louisa Moore★★★★☆
We were staying in Reims for a couple of nights while touring the nearby champagne houses and were searching for a local but hospitable place to eat dinner, and Le Tablier looked homey and welcoming so we decided to give it a try. This is exactly the kind of brasserie you hope to stumble into in the middle of Reims. It's right on Place Drouet d'Erlon with a big, lively terrace facing the Subé fountain. That means it gives off great people-watching vibes, although in December it was too chilly to dine outside. The atmosphere of the restaurant hits that sweet spot between cozy, rustic, and modern. It feels relaxed but still polished, like a place that knows what it's doing without trying too hard. The tables are packed too closely together, which was a nice change as to the European norm. We were able to enjoy our dinner and conversation without touching elbows with fellow guests. To be fair, we were dining at an "off" time, so it wasn't very busy. Your mileage may vary if you visit during the popular dinner hours. The staff were genuinely welcoming, especially to foreign visitors, which honestly stands out by French standards. English menus were available, service was friendly and easygoing, and nothing felt rushed. We were greeted warmly by the host, who immediately started speaking to us in English (how do they ALWAYS KNOW?!). We still tried to speak some French to him, which he appreciated. I swear attempting to converse in the local language does wonders when you're a tourist in Europe! The cocktail menu is extensive and creative, and we had some excellent cocktails along with a solid house wine (typical in France) that set me back a whopping 5 Euros LOL. My hubby's cocktail was beautifully presented and garnished with dried fruit, and it was nice and strong. Even the bread basket deserves a shout out for the simple, fresh, and very snackable crusty, sliced baguette. Food-wise, everything was quite tasty. My snail-loving hubby said the escargots (9 Euros for a half dozen) were plump, garlicky, and perfectly done. He never, ever passes up the chance to order this dish whenever we are in France, and he really raved about these. I opted for the Salmon Amandine (24 Euros), which was served with a cider and mustard sauce and butter mashed potatoes. My fish was flavorful and well-cooked, and the portion was quite large. My husband went with a steak and potatoes dish, which he said was rich and satisfying. The potatoes were fried in what tasted like duck fat, and everything was well seasoned. Even by American standards, the portions were huge. These are definitely generous brasserie-style plates, so much so that we skipped on dessert (and the selections sounded incredible). For escargots, salmon, beef, a cocktail, glass of wine, bottled water, and all that atmosphere, we paid about €80, which felt like a great deal for the quality and location. It's not cheap, but it's worth it. I would definitely recommend Le Tablier to visitors in the area. It's a great choice for a casual, fun meal with tasty drinks right in the heart of Reims.

Friendly service and they have a very decent vegan burger on the menu! Bit too noisy for my liking today, seems to be some kind of festival going on, and they have a live band just outside the door with the PA cranked up to full volume!

We ordered there a combo o chicken and steak, and both were delicious, very well done and tender. My 3 and 4 y olds were able to eat it easily and loved it as well. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. If you like some plain meat options different than hamburgers very nicely done and on a simple and relaxing set without over-complications, this is the place for sure, there are plenty of seats. The lady who served us was also very friendly. As soon as she noticed that I had some difficulty speaking French, she immediately switched to English and did a great job explaining the menu and the different options. I will definitely come back the next time I am in Reims.

Everything was excellent! The chicken was crispy and juicy, the poivre sauce was delicious. Even the salad dressing was great. Highly recommend for a no be frills meal in Reims.

We ordered the chicken dishes from the menu and they certainly didn’t disappoint. The chicken was cooked perfectly, incredibly tender, and packed with flavour thanks to the amazing seasoning. The fries were also delicious and complemented the meal really well. In fact, this ended up being our favourite meal of the entire trip and the best food we had in the region. The service was excellent throughout, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere that made the experience even better. We would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area.

Amazing place for a quick lunch or dinner. I went there late afternoon so there was no waiting line. The staff was super friendly and spoke in English, as my French is not very good (apologies for that). The Irish Angus was tender and nicely salted, the chicken was perfect and the chips hand cut and crispy. Highly recommended place!!

Been wanting to try this restaurant since every time I pass by it's always full of customers. I'm happy we came around lunch time and got their formule which was a complete meal + a choice of drink or dessert for €17. I'm usually fond of restaurants that specialize only on one thing and La Brigade is one of those. It's a pretty straightforward concept, no frills, fast and an enjoyable dining experience. I got an onglet de bœuf and my husband had a poulet pané. The beef was a bit overcooked than what i ordered but I still enjoyed my experience in the restaurant anyway. The fries were perfectly cooked, they feel like fait maison and not industriL 💖 the roquefort miel and chimi-pesto sauces were delightful and I'm excited to try the other sauces 😊 the framboise pastèque tea and citronnade maison were super good, I highly recommend it! 💖 Our server was very nice and courteous despite a busy lunch service. People were starting to pile up at the cashier and he took the initiative to give us the bill and process our payment at the table. I'm definitely coming back to try their other offerings 😊💖

Amazing food and service for a great price. I had the duck in orange sauce and it was delicious! The servers were all very friendly and helpful. While the menu is mainly duck dishes, there are a few chicken and beef dishes available. The drinks menu had something for everyone too (and they do have champagne!). Really recommend this place 🙂

Didn't really know what to expect. It's highly recommended but cheap! In reality, a great little restaurant serving the very best of duck dishes. We started with the Thai Duck Croquettes which were fabulous, but they looked so nice we dived right in without taking a photo! Staff were great, and although we've had cheaper wines, it was a very nice bottle. Would 100% go back.

Service is amazing and good humoured, good jokes 11/10 40€ tip. The duck is the star of the show, with amazing mayo. The side dishes are quite decent but nothing to write home about. The fries under the duck soaks them nicely in the duck fat. However, they were a bit soggy likely due to some older oil and not double frying the fries. All in all I would recommend coming by here, and just ordering the duck. *the cheese platter is just one type of cheese, the cheese is nice and pairs well with cote du rhone or an even bolder wine. It being one cheese better suits it as an appetiser as well. **at night some of the upstairs tables have some bright white streetlights shining straight in your eyes. This is difficult to prevent. Maybe some little curtains at these spots would improve the atmosphere. However, I am not gonna lower my atmosphere rating for that, because the toilet had epic disco lights.

If there’s one place that deserves a spot on the must-try list in Reims, it’s “Canard Street”.Absolutely delicious every bite is full of rich duck flavour. You can tell they know what they’re doing, and they do it really well. Soooo tasty… I’ll definitely be back.
Wonderingchef★★★★☆
Good lunch spot, good service and welcoming staff. Tasty food all round. My only issue was a slightly gritty bit in a small part of my salad or I would of given 5 stars all round. That being said I will be back to tey more of their tasty canard

One of the best Michelin restos we’ve enjoyed. It’s a chef driven menu - all about great food and not the fanfare. Sommelier Victor is outstanding, recommended a fabulous 2014 champagne from a small producer that was amazing. Food was creative, nicely balanced flavors, risky blend of flavors but always a hit. Not to be missed!

This has taken the top spot of our food experiences in France, Spain, Portugal and Andorra. We have attempted to eat at as many Michelin restaurants as possible. My wife and I personally believe Le Millionaire should have a second star, their service, attentiveness and above all else their exquisite food was an absolute highlight! We chose the 9 course dégustation with wine pairing. They were the only restaurant in France to use a couple of wines from outside of France in their wine pairing menu. Which means in our eyes, the sommelier and head chef are really taking pride in what wines pair perfectly with their food. My wife has a unique allergy and this wasn’t any issue what so ever. Although all of the dishes were absolutely amazing. My favourite dish was their scallop dish, we were informed it was prepared in such a way for the first time that night, to suit my wife’s allergy. I’m unsure how to praise them more. If you’re seeking the best of the best this should be the only restaurant on your radar! Included are pictures of our beautiful food:

4,7/5 The final Michelin restaurant of my gourmet culinary tour of Reims: a 1-star, downtown restaurant that had me intrigued for some time (seldom mentioned by friends or colleagues)… it was truly a nice discovery. Access is quick and easy near the town hall, on foot if living in city center (quite practical), valet parking available. No outdoor seating unfortunately (unlike another starred downtown restaurant). The dining hall is very spacious, very high ceilings, aerated seating to preserve privacy, host & staff dedicated and energetic. A special mention to the sommelier; charismatic, professional & quick-witted to answer any remark! The meal in itself was very generous, with some mouth-watering concoctions; the langoustine (prawn) as well as the celery risotto with Champagne caviar topped my preferences. I personally found the pollock (lieu jaune) with spinach confusing, as it abruptly disrupted the well-executed flow of flavors up till then! The final sweet touch saw a pear-variation presentation which I found exquisite and delicate. The wine pairing was also beautifully thought and executed. Their 100% meunier, 2018 Millésime « Éclatante » champagne from maison Goulard is still carved in my memory. Cheese tray was impressive, both in variety and quality. Chef Benjamin Andreux really brings the best of the ingredients used, and succeeds in « bringing the flavors he grew up with into the meals he serves ». We really had it for our money, and left the restaurant full & satisfied! Though it could benefit from some improvements (redesigning the WC for example), and the presence of other notorious starred restaurants around, it’s certainly a very interesting address to discover… and even to try a couple of times!!
Reto R. A.★★★★★
Friendly service and tasty appealing créations on the plates. Wine recommendations matched the dishes and the budget and preferences told to the sommelier. As I am temporarily not allowed to drink alcohol the only downside were non alcoholic drink options (not soft drinks) like a alcohol free beer, apéritif etc. but this is quite common in France (only half of visited restaurant offered it).

My 2nd time visiting Le Millénaire in a year. Delightfully satisfied by the food options, the service, and the wine selections. Best option in Reims!

A cozy and very busy restaurant. Service took a bit of time due to the crowd and seating was cramped. Food was tasty. It's not fine dining but the flavours were great. I liked the starters with the prawn very much. The portions were big and generous. Although combined with a cheesy risotto, I did struggle to finish it. The wine list was good with good recommendations. Overall a hearty meal and an enjoyable experience.

Great selection of wines fitting the menu superbly. Price as well. Had apertisers of white asparagus and eco egg; both good. Main course of lamb shank with risotto and white fish with vegetables (superb mixture of different vegetables). Dessert: praline-bun.

Quaint restaurant with knowledgeable & friendly staff. They make great recommendations if you’re unsure. I enjoyed the Seven-hour lamb shank ☺️ & mom the roasted free-range chicken. Both dishes were delicious

A wonderful restaurant featuring an amazing array of regional Champagnes and wines. The food is prepared with tremendous skill. And the service is impeccable. We had the special lamb dish and pork chops for out main course. We started with the escargot with it's unique preparation with roasted hazelnut and pumpkin emulsion. A true dining experience.

What a gem of a place in Reims. Cannot thank the floor staff & the chef for their hospitality. We had spotted the restaurant on our first day in Reims and immediately decided that we wanted to cancel the recommendations our hotel had booked for us the following day. So we revisited the restaurant during lunch the next day to ask for a table that evening, unsurprisingly they were fully booked. But i left my number with them and Jacqelin (i think her name was!) kindly called a few hours later to say they had some space for us. Its did not disappoint. We had a romantic pavement table which we perfect in the warm May heat! Each of the staff were so kind a friendly, always smiling and happy to talk. We had a glass of champagne to start (great options by the glass) and a few bottles of delicious French read from St Julien. We also treated ourselves to 3 courses each, all of which were beautifully presented and delicious. Props to the beetroot dish (if you can imagine beetroot caviar, it was like this!), the special iberico ham main, and the vanilla meringue tart. All so tasty. It was a wonderful last night for our 6-day trip to the Chamoagne region, and THANK YOU to the whole team for your service.

Wonderful Rooftop Experience We had a fantastic evening at Gabrielle Rooftop! Our reserved table was ready when we arrived, and the service was attentive, friendly, and professional, even with the restaurant being very busy. The food was a real highlight. The puff pastry with snails was rich and beautifully prepared, the sea bream ceviche was fresh and vibrant, and the roasted sea bass was perfectly cooked. The roasted French duck was especially memorable—flavorful, tender, and beautifully presented. We paired the meal with a fantastic Blanc de Blancs Champagne from Herbert Beaufort and loved the excellent Champagne selection. The beautiful terrace, lively atmosphere, and spectacular views made the evening truly special. Great food, wonderful service, and an unforgettable experience. Highly recommended!
Alexey Subach★★★★☆
This is a classic French cuisine restaurant, with an ultra tiny modern pinch to it. They have an okay champagne list but only two options available by the glass. The ham terrine was well made and was tasty. It didn’t seem like anything special or something to go to a restaurant for to be honest. The beef tartare was underwhelming - there was no prominent taste of the meat, it was hidden by the garnishes and seaweed. Tuna tartare was a bit better but in general had the same seaweed taste. The snail puff pastry had a really nice creamy garlicky sauce and the snails didn’t have any bad stale water flavour. The pastry itself though was average. The foie gras duck terrine page was really good and had a prominent flavour of ratafia that they marinated it in. I’d prefer a more plain flavour of foie gras but still this was a great dish and the pastry accompanying it was nice. The potatoes that were served on the side were good and well made, with a rich potato flavour. Overall price/quality ratio was quite underwhelming - some dishes were well made, some like tartare were not as good but in any case the price was too high for what you get. On the bright side, the view on the cathedral was nice and the staff were really attentive and the service was great. The atmosphere inside was nice and everything was well maintained despite the style itself seeming a bit dated

Excellent fine dining experience in Reims. The sommelier was very knowledgeable and took the time to explain the wines in detail, helping us choose the perfect pairing for our main course. The Rossini was exceptional, with tender, high-quality beef and delicious foie gras. The view of the cathedral added to the elegant atmosphere. Outstanding food, service, and wine selection—highly recommended.

Lovely atmosphere and attentive staff. The food was delicious (forgot to take photo of my dessert before I started) and unsurprisingly a very good selection of wines/champagne.

We had a very nice time in this establishment. Service was attentive and top notch. We took the set menu with wine pairing. We were amazed by the starter utilising champagne grapes. It was a good play with a nod to the champagne industry. Food was balanced and well presented. It was overall of a very high quality. In my personal opinion, the veal tartare with the egg felt too rich as a combination. It may be a matter of personal preference. The wine pairing was good and complemented the meal nicely. Make your reservation well in advance.

We were lucky to go there on a sunny day, being able to enjoy a drink in the garden followed by a lunch in very modern yet warm atmosphere of the restaurant. We took the 3 courses seasonal menu, it was just perfect ,from the freshness and uniqueness of all the small amuses bouches, the delicious starter (probably our favorite dish), the interesting main, and the voluptuous yet light chocolate dessert, everything was really great. It had been a long time we had such a fully satisfying fine dining experience. The chef and his crew really deserve the 2 stars !

An Unforgettable Evening — Soul of Champagne Tasting Menu ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We were two couples visiting Reims as part of a Champagne tour, and dinner at Arbane was the highlight of the trip in this beautifully restored 19th-century mansion. The “Soul of Champagne” tasting menu is a deeply considered celebration of the region, from the iconic Arbanothèque opener to the final dessert — every course showing real precision and a genuine connection to the terroir. One of our party chose the vegetarian menu, which was equally outstanding and every bit as creative as the main tasting menu. The wine pairing was excellent — each glass thoughtfully chosen and perfectly matched to the food. The service deserves a special mention. A young team, but smiling, attentive and thoroughly professional. They set a wonderful tone for the evening and made four guests feel genuinely well looked after throughout. Arbane is simply not to be missed if you are visiting Reims

One of the most amazing restaurants I have been to in the World from arrival to departure every moment exceeded expectations! By far the Most Creative Amusement Course I have ever seen and appreciate as a Chef. An experience not to be missed! Thank you Chef Philippe and Team! Exceptional all around!
Ogeron Ambonnier★★★★★
In a world of over-engineered plates, Arbane reminds you why we go to restaurants in the first place: to actually enjoy the food. It proves that pure flavor can be delivered with a sense of style where every single detail is polished to perfection. Don't get me wrong, but in many fine-dining venues, chefs can get so lost in "innovation" that the actual flavor becomes secondary. Not here. Philippe Mille and his team show incredible talent by keeping the food soul-satisfying and technically flawless at the same time. Everything is brilliantly organized and genuinely delicious. The atmosphere strikes a great balance too - stylish and modern, yet comfortably quiet. The space is so well zoned that even with a full house, it never feels crowded. The service is professional and sharp, but without the stiff, formal attitude that often ruins the mood. You feel as relaxed as if you were at home. The wine list is another major win. Of course, fans of big names like Krug or Dom Perignon will be happy, but the real joy is their selection of grower champagnes. You can find some truly exciting cuvées at prices that won’t break your budget, which is a rare find for this level. The only catch is the booking. The place is very popular, so planning well in advance is a must. If you can secure a table, it’s worth every euro and you certainly won't regret it. Bravo to Philippe and the team - see you again soon!

An authentic local favorite that exceeded expectations. We trusted our waitress to curate our meal, and she absolutely delivered. The seafood platter, mussels, and steak were all exceptional: fresh, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor. A memorable dining experience and a spot I would highly recommend.

A classic French restaurant with an extensive menu and wonderfully hearty cuisine. Portions are generous and the value is excellent. The steak paella is a must-try. I’ll absolutely be coming back again.

Cozy place, with good food at affordable prices, and friendly crew. Certainly recommended, especially if you don’t want to hassle into the busy area.

We found the restaurant on google maps and decided to go. We speak next to no French, waitress spoke very little English but it wasn't a problem and we were given a QR code to an English menu. Food was good, atmosphere was good and service friendly. 99 euros for 1 starter 3 mains (including 2 paella) and 4 drinks. - good value. A gem a little outside the tourist track. Holländer/elderflower liquor was good 😁

Lovely little restaurant! A mixture of french and Spanish cuisine. The food portions were quite large! We could have shared the Paella as a meal! The food was delicious and the service was great.

Practical Tips for Dining in Reims

To make the most of your culinary journey through the city, a little local knowledge goes a long way. The dining culture in Reims is deeply intertwined with the rhythm of the region, and understanding a few key nuances will elevate your experience from good to unforgettable. From navigating peak times to pairing your meal correctly, these practical tips will help you dine like a local.

Book well in advance, especially on weekends. Reims is a popular weekend destination for Parisians and international tourists alike. The top restaurants fill up quickly, particularly for Friday and Saturday dinner service. Reserving a table at least a week in advance for the most sought-after spots is highly recommended to avoid disappointment.

Embrace the Champagne pairings. While you might be tempted to stick to still wine, remember you are in the heart of Champagne country. Many chefs design their dishes specifically to complement the acidity and effervescence of local grower Champagnes. Ask your sommelier for a glass pairing rather than ordering a full bottle of still wine.

Understand the service hours. Like much of France, many restaurants in Reims close between lunch and dinner service, typically from around 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Plan your sightseeing around these hours, as finding a full meal during the late afternoon can be challenging. Your best bet for an off-hours snack is a boulangerie or a café.

Explore beyond the cathedral square. While the area immediately surrounding the Notre-Dame de Reims is picturesque, it is often home to pricier, tourist-focused establishments. Venturing just a few blocks away into the Boulingrin district or towards the Place du Forum will often yield more authentic and better-value dining experiences favored by locals.

Don’t skip the regional specialties. To truly understand the local gastronomy, you must try the iconic dishes. Look for Jambon de Reims (a pink, parsleyed ham), lentil dishes from the nearby Champagne region, and a slice of the famous Biscuit Rose de Reims, which is traditionally dipped in Champagne.

The culinary landscape of Reims is a testament to the city’s rich history and its forward-thinking creativity. Each meal here tells a story, whether it is rooted in the rustic traditions of the French countryside or pushing the boundaries of modern gastronomy.

As you wander through the historic streets, from the bustling market halls to the quiet lanes leading to the basilica, let your appetite guide you. The restaurants listed above offer a starting point for an unforgettable journey through one of France’s most underrated food cities.
