15 Best Pizza Spots in Colmar

Colmar feels like a place designed for slow, indulgent afternoons. With its half-timbered houses painted in pastel hues and canals winding through the old town, the Alsatian capital offers a sensory experience unlike any other in France. While the architecture often steals the spotlight, the culinary scene is equally compelling.

The local food culture is a fascinating blend of French finesse and Germanic heartiness. Here, you are just as likely to find a delicate Michelin-starred plate as you are a rustic, bubbling dish of Munster cheese. This unique gastronomic identity makes choosing where to eat a delightful, albeit difficult, challenge.

Because Colmar is a compact city, the best dining experiences are often hidden down cobblestone alleyways or tucked beside the Lauch river. You don’t need to travel far to find exceptional dough, high-quality regional produce, and wood-fired ovens. The density of quality is staggering for a town of its size.

Pizza, in particular, has found a unique footing in this border town. While Alsace is famous for its tarte flambée, the Italian influence is strong, resulting in pizzerias that respect tradition while embracing local ingredients. You can find Neapolitan-style crusts topped with crème fraîche, lardons, and onions, bridging the gap between Italy and the Rhine.

Whether you are seeking a romantic dinner overlooking the water, a quick slice between museum visits, or a family-friendly trattoria with a buzzing atmosphere, Colmar has a pie for you. The city’s pizzerias range from authentic Italian imports to trendy, modern bistros that push the boundaries of toppings.

To help you navigate the cobblestones and avoid tourist traps, we have curated a list of the absolute best spots to grab a slice. These selections are based on dough quality, sauce character, cheese selection, atmosphere, and consistency of service.

Hands down the best pizza I have ever had! The crust was incredibly fluffy and perfectly fired — unlike anything I have tasted before. If you are a pizza lover, this is an absolute must-try. A truly unforgettable slice!

Proper neapolitan style pizza made in France. All ingredients are supreme quality, service quick and staff really friendly. They definitely know what neapolitan pizza is all about! Photos don't do it justice, sorry, but i was starving and couldn't be bothered taking better pictures 🙂
Tommy Bachmann★★★★★
The best pizza I remember eating. Can't believe I actually went back half an hour later to get a second one. The crust is amazing, the ingredients fresh and tasty, and very quick but still perfectly baked. Please come to Switzerland, I need you there
Carmine Marzano★★★★★
Very nice pizzas 🍕 to take away, also very interesting flavours especially for the chilly lovers. Also they sell some traditional Italian products, including nduja, wines and Grom ice cream. There might be waiting time as they are quite popular, so better to call in advance.
Gurudath Subramanya★☆☆☆☆
Be aware that you have to order in advance. The lady in the counter told us that it will take 90 to 120 mins to make pizza ready due to already pending orders. It was a disappointment for us. No where this information is mentioned in the website.

I ordered the Spaghetti Bolognese, and it was completely tasteless. The sauce was very watery, and there was even water mixed with the tomato sauce around the edge of the plate. There was hardly any meat in it, it tasted more like plain spaghetti with tomato sauce and water than a proper Bolognese. The dish wasn’t seasoned at all. The service was disappointing as well. The waitress never checked on our table while we were eating. She only came to ask if everything was okay after my friend had already finished his meal, while I still had a full plate in front of me. I told her that I didn’t like the food and that there was barely any meat or taste in the Bolognese. I didn’t feel like ordering anything else because it would have meant waiting all over again. Instead, I left and went to eat at another restaurant. Overall, a disappointing experience, and I can’t recommend this restaurant.
Satish Patel★☆☆☆☆
BURNT PIZZA ALERT!!! I should have know an Italian restaurant in France would not be good but I at least imagine they can cook a pizza. Pizza tasted like a cooked frozen pizza and was burnt. Looks like they serve better pizza to locals, as they all had pizza that was bubbly and light. Look at pics and you can see its burnt and flat. €14 for a pizza, you can find much better quality and price elsewhere.
Djurga★★★★★
Great service! Fantastic bread with the pizza 🙂 Good music as well
Dario Vega★☆☆☆☆
Worst experience ever! Avoid this place if you’re visiting Colmar. I actually stopped leaving reviews for a while, but this one truly deserved it. We thought we could at least get a decent pizza for dinner, but we were completely wrong. If I could give it zero stars, I would. The pizza tasted frozen and undercooked, and the bolognese pasta had no tomato sauce, almost no meat, and no flavour at all, it literally tasted like water. The service was very slow . This is meant to improve, not to just complain. Picture shows the place from outside.
Dennis S.★★☆☆☆
Pasta sauces were watery and lacked taste. Aubergines in the pasta were not prepared well, had a rubbery consistency. The tomate sauce was very bland. Truffle sauce was very bland and the truffles in the sauce did not taste fresh. The pasta itself seemed to be the cheapest kind. Very disappointing overall. I could've cooked a better meal at home. Please put a little more effort in your cooking, it's not that hard to make a good pasta dish.

I went to O’Pizza in Colmar. The food was really good, but the service was not great. It was hard to communicate because the staff only spoke French. It would be better if at least one person could speak basic English, especially since many tourists visit Colmar.

Pizzas are great, very soft and nicely topped up more americanised style, tried vegeterian and Margarita pizzas. Good to check out if not want to eat traditional tarte Flamme be in colmar.

Such a long wait we almost walked out. They seemed to favour fulfilling takeaway orders to restaurant customers. Understandably. The pizza was fine and my wife's burger was good, but I can't recommend due to the wait.
Ryley Jacobs★★★★★
The pizza was really yummy! The crust was fluffy and tasty, and the ingredients were fresh and plentiful. The service was good and the restaurant had a nice atmosphere, would eat here again!

We came here hoping for some food other than the local traditional food. Great pizza restaurant with some unusual offerings. A fun place to eat with great service. We had a burger, Mexican pizza, American pizza and the Buffalo pizza and some escargot. Burger was great, the Mexican pizza was the favorite filled by the Buffalo pizza. The American pizza was like a burger with fries. Haha neat concept
Sins Of Wanderlust★★★★★
Cozy pizzeria with indoor and outdoor seating. Amazing, fresh pizza that is just right and loaded with ingredients. The salads are also great, especially the goat's cheese one. Good selection of drinks. Friendly and helpful staff.

Great little find whole staying at Ibis Styles for a stop over on the way to Switzerland. Pizzas were delicious. Daughters had cheese pizza, wife had Hawian and I had the Diablo spicy. They were class. Staff were friendly and it took around 15mins from in store order to take away.

Handmade pizza dough, excellent quality toppings, and great prices. Besides pizza, they also serve Tex Mex appetizers, salads, and burgers. We were staying at Petit Venise, and it was worth the walk to enjoy this incredible pizza
Tobi★★★☆☆
The service was very good and it's a family friendly restaurant. The Burger was not very good (no smash burger as IT was offered) and the bacon was formed meat which in my opinion is unacceptable for a real burger. The pizza was ok but I didn't like the taste of the pepperoni salami. The Caesars salad had no Caesars dressing but something else which also was not very good. 2-3 stars all in all.
Apoorva Agarwal★★★★★
Excellent vegetarian pizza and very friendly and accommodating staff!

Excellnt hot Pizza even at 11PM ..Place Quite and nice
Jorrit Polder★☆☆☆☆
We ordered food, and it was delivered 15 minutes late, but this was the least of our troubles. Everything was either undercooked or overcooked, and often completely tasteless. If there was any taste it was bad. We ordered a Pizza quattro formaggi, but got Penne quattro formaggi instead, but still paying the 17 euros of the pizza over the 11 euros of the pasta. Pasta was overcooked and tastless, sauce was bad. Pizza peperoni was undercooked, and tasted horribly. Burger was undercooked, bread was dry, fries were undercooked. Also, one of us ordered a drink, and we did not get it. Never again.

Uday★☆☆☆☆
Very disappointing experience at Pizzarium Fiore in Colmar. I ordered takeaway pizzas and was shocked to find that several of them were noticeably burnt, not just slightly overdone, but charred to the point of ruining the taste. Even the slices that weren't burnt were mediocre at best, with nothing that justified the price or hype. What made things worse was the service. When I politely asked for a cup of tap water, the person behind the counter reacted with visible frustration, as if it was an unreasonable request. Considering there was a serious heatwave, it felt especially unwelcoming and dismissive to be treated that way over something so basic. Overall, poor quality food and unfriendly service. Definitely not a place I would return to or recommend.
Sunny Sharma★★★★★
Randomly came across this place as we had less time to sit for eating food. While from the google image it may look like a classic take-away place, don’t mistake it with such. It’s one of the best Pizza places you can fall for when you’re in Colmar, France. The good thing is that you can enjoy multiple tastes of pizza instead of just one as the pizzas are offered in small pieces. We ordered a variety of Pizzas including Pesto, Mushrooms and Spinach. Desert was Tiramisu, that did full justice to it. A must go place.
Matthew Nash★★★★★
Amazing pizza and very nice service. Clean place and relaxing and recommend for kids and families too.
Umut Coşkun★★★★★
The food is actually really delicious and the staff is so friendly, I honestly don't understand why there isn't a queue outside. I've waited in line for ages in Italy for places that weren't even half as good..!
Carolina Matias★★★★★
It was a nice surprise. 🤩 We went without expectations, but the pizza was a pleasant surprise, very tasty, and the crust was very crispy! We were very satisfied! 😋 The waitresses were very friendly, which made our meal there even more enjoyable. ☺️

La Pinata is definetly the best Italian Restaurant in Colmar. In fact this is our best meal in our whole 2 week vacation in France. Great Foof, Great Staff, Great Ambiance. That place is Highly recommanded.

My recent visit to La Pignata restaurant in Colmar left me enchanted. From the impeccable flavors of authentic Italian dishes to the attentive service and charming ambiance, every aspect of the experience was simply outstanding. If you're in search of a true taste of Italy in Colmar, this restaurant is a must-visit.

Very heavy food with a lot of cream. Rude staff who called us 'buddy' and pretended not to understand us when we tried our best in French. English wasn't even an option.

Arrived without a reservation on a Friday evening and they were full but squeezed us in by bringing out another table for two. Absolutely fantastic experience at Magnà Pizza in Colmar! The pizzas are outstanding — perfectly cooked dough, high-quality ingredients, and flavors that truly stand out. You can really taste the care and passion in every bite. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the staff are friendly, attentive, and always smiling. Service is quick without ever feeling rushed. Whether you dine in or take away, the quality is consistently excellent. Easily one of the best pizza spots in Colmar. Highly recommended — I’ll definitely be coming back! 🍕

Always delicious when eating pizza right from the oven. We had pizza margherita et assiette de parme, delicious!!! Thumb up!!! The atmosphere is wonderful, lively (might be because it is in the middle of fresh market).
Mercimek Corba★★★★★
It is in the food court, so don’t expect much about atmosphere. It is better than the most pizzas I ate in nice places. Very good dough, tomato sauce and cheese. They bake it right there in front of you. Fresh, fast and tasty.
Andriy Kudin Photographer★★★★★
The advantage of this place is that it works without interruptions. The wine is cool, the pizza is delicious. The kids love it here.
Joe Uziel★★★★☆
The market in general is not a great atmosphere in winter. If you end up there on a rainy day, there are decent food options, but nothing really felt amazing. We chose this place to see how their pizzas were after eating tarte flambee the night before. There pizza is pretty good, but it felt like eating in a mall food court.

Wonderful focaccia and just as good service. If you're in Colmar, eating there is a must! We were passing through Colmar just for a day and the waiter was so friendly and helpful, even giving us some informations about the cities around. If we can call it a down side, you'll never get enough of that focaccia, just wonderful and so full of flavor!
T. W.★☆☆☆☆
My wife and I ate dinner here last night and found the food very disappointing. I ordered the Meatballs with Focaccia and my wife ordered the Pasta Carbonara. The sauce was warm but the Meatballs were cold(kinda strange) the noodles in the Pasta Carbonara was definitely undercooked and the sauce tasted like pasta water and no sauce as if it was rushed and they forgot the sauce(not good). The servers were nice but the atmosphere was lacking. All in all the worst Italian food we have yet to experience and we have eaten Italian food all around the world. 🙁

Superb focaccia and wine. The staff are always smiling, and the place has an old-money charm. It's also ideal for a slow food experience. If I had only one evening in Colmar, this is where I’d come.

Good Italian restaurant on the outskirts of Colmar. We hadn’t booked but there were plenty of tables. Mainly French customers in a relaxed atmosphere. We had a huge mixed salad to start to share with pasta and pizza for main course. All excellent and large portions. No alcohol free beer so had a Perrier instead. Friendly staff and would definitely go again
Nadieh B★★★★★
The restaurant may not have the most stylish atmosphere, but the service more than made up for it — everyone was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The pizza was outstanding, full of flavor and perfectly prepared. Even though there wasn’t a vegan option on the menu, they happily created one for us, and it turned out to be absolutely delicious. We really appreciated the effort and left feeling very satisfied and happy!

I ordered a medium-rare steak and it came out well done and incredibly tough. It was very hard to chew. I let the staff know, but they insisted it was due to cartilage, which wasn’t the case. Overall, a very disappointing experience. Photos attached as their ‚medium rare‘ steak.

This was a phenomenal Italian cuisine experience. The pizzas were one of the best I've ever had, the cheese and other ingredients tasted magnificent! The pasta was clearly made within the restaurant and not store bought ingredient, the tagtilatelle sauce and burrata cheese were too good yes as well. My choice: Parmigiana and Margarita pizzas and tagliatelle pesto and burrata pasta.
Eddy Nemer★★★★★
A great modern restaurant for tasty diversified dinner! The place doesn’t take reservations and seats at the minute which is amazing because all restaurants around are Full and don’t accept anyone in!! We did not wait long until we had a table and the staff are friendly and respectful! As for the menu and food; very affordable and reasonable prices for the served portion, platters beautifully presented and taste does not disappoint! Definitely recommended if you’re looking for a headache free dinner!

Fun place to eat and good food The server was fun to talk to as well, initially we struggled in French but suddenly he started talking i’ English after a couple of minutes so it was a bit weird! Very generous portions for the price they have which is fair We came to Colmar very hungry after 21pm on a weekday and were glad we bumped into this place after searching everywhere with everything closing around 9-10pm Would come back again

Great food for a fair price. We shared a pizza for lunch with some drinks. The pizza’s here are really delicious. A table next to us even got a pizza in the form of a star! Would recommend sitting on the street terrace. The view of the second terrace in the back is a bit disappointing. The toilets here are very clean and tidy (no toilet seat though!)

Tips for Choosing the Perfect Pizza in Colmar

Finding a great pizza in Colmar is easy, but finding the perfect one for your specific mood requires a little local know-how. The culinary landscape here is nuanced, with different establishments catering to different needs, from quick lunches to long, wine-fueled dinners. Understanding the local customs and peak times will significantly improve your dining experience.

Book ahead for dinner, especially on weekends. Colmar is one of the most visited cities in France, and the best restaurants fill up quickly with both tourists and locals. If you have your heart set on a specific pizzeria, call ahead or book online a day or two in advance to avoid disappointment.

Look for the "Forno a Legna" sign. This indicates a wood-fired oven. Pizzerias that use wood fires produce a charred, blistered crust that is difficult to replicate in a standard electric oven. It is usually a reliable sign of a restaurant that takes its dough seriously.

Embrace the Alsatian hybrid. Don’t be afraid to order a pizza that features local ingredients like Munster cheese, smoked bacon, or even a drizzle of local honey. These regional twists are often the house specialties and offer a taste you won’t find anywhere else in the world.

Check the lunch menus (Formules). Many of the sit-down pizzerias in Colmar offer excellent value at lunchtime. A "formule" often includes a pizza, a side salad, and a drink for a fixed price, which is significantly cheaper than ordering à la carte in the evening.

Consider the terrace vs. the interior. While dining al fresco by the canals in Little Venice is magical, the interiors of many Colmar pizzerias are equally charming, often housed in historic, timber-framed buildings. If the weather is unpredictable, opting for a table inside can offer a more atmospheric, cozy experience.

The beauty of Colmar’s dining scene is that it rewards exploration. While this list highlights the heavy hitters, wandering off the main tourist drags often leads to discovering a hidden gem run by a passionate local family. Don’t be afraid to peek at the pizzas coming out of the kitchen before you sit down; in this town, the food is often a work of art.

Ultimately, the best pizza in Colmar is the one that fuels your exploration of this fairy-tale city. Whether you are carb-loading before a wine tour of the Route des Vins or settling in after a day of sightseeing, a great slice here is more than just food—it is a part of the Alsatian experience.
