Las Palmas de Gran Canaria enjoys a privileged coastal position, and no stretch of its shoreline is more famous than Las Canteras Beach. Often ranked among the best urban beaches in Europe, this three-kilometre arc of golden sand is protected by a natural volcanic reef known as La Barra. The calm, clear water makes it a favourite for swimmers, families, and snorkellers, while the paved seafront promenade buzzes with runners, cyclists, and sunset strollers. Choosing accommodation here means placing yourself at the heart of the city’s social and culinary scene.
The area directly behind the beach is divided into distinct zones, each with its own personality. The southern end near La Puntilla is famous for its fresh seafood taverns and a laid-back, local atmosphere, while the central stretch around Plaza de Saulo offers a lively mix of terraces and surf culture. Further north towards the Alfredo Kraus Auditorium, the pace slows, attracting visitors who prefer a quieter, more residential feel. Understanding these micro-neighbourhoods is key to finding the right base.
Hotels near Las Canteras Beach range from sleek, high-rise properties with panoramic ocean views to intimate boutique guesthouses tucked into quiet side streets. Many of the best options are just a stone’s throw from the sand, yet some of the most attractive stays are located one or two blocks back, where the sound of the waves gives way to the gentle hum of Canarian daily life. Price points vary significantly, making the area accessible for both budget-conscious travellers and those seeking luxury.
A key benefit of staying here is the walkability. From a hotel near the beach, you can reach the historic Vegueta district, the bustling Santa Catalina Park, and the port area within a short drive or a pleasant walk. The local bus network is efficient, and the Global bus station is nearby for day trips to the island’s volcanic interior or the dunes of Maspalomas. However, many guests find they rarely need to leave the promenade, as it offers everything from morning coffee to late-night live music.
Dining is a major part of the experience. The streets behind the beach, particularly Calle Ruiz de Alda and Calle Fernando Guanarteme, are packed with restaurants serving papas arrugadas, grilled octopus, and fresh Atlantic fish. A hotel near Las Canteras means you can enjoy a long lunch with a glass of local wine and simply stroll back to your room, rather than navigating traffic or searching for parking.
For travellers focused on wellness and activity, the beach itself is the main attraction. Morning yoga on the sand, paddleboarding inside the reef, and long walks along the promenade are daily rituals for residents and visitors alike. Many nearby hotels cater to this lifestyle with rooftop pools, fitness centres, and spa facilities, while others keep things simple with comfortable rooms and excellent locations.
The climate in Las Palmas is mild year-round, with average temperatures rarely dipping below 18°C in winter or rising above 27°C in summer. This makes Las Canteras a dependable destination in any season, and the hotel scene reflects that consistency. Whether you are visiting for a winter sun break, a summer surf trip, or a remote-working month by the sea, the right hotel can elevate your entire stay. Below is a curated selection of properties that consistently earn strong reviews for location, comfort, and service.

Having never been to the canaries we didn't know what to expect, even as we walked in for the first time and had trouble finding parking, the staff went out of their way to ensure we could get out rental car parked without being charged over and above!
We stayed for 5 nights and the hotel was beautiful, clean and had a great atmosphere, the food served at breakfast and dinner was not the typical buffet food we expected, instead it was freshly cooked and incredibly good!
The hotel had everything we needed and more, we were blown away by the services available to us.
The hotel location was perfect, we were able to walk out onto the beach every morning before it got busy, walk along the promenade during the day for ice cream then again in the evening for dinner and drinks.
While we did go to the local water park and the sand dunes, we actually spent most of our time walking the promenade and sitting on the beach, the rental car felt like overkill as everything we needed was there.
While every single member of staff was friendly, helpful and just happy to go out of their way to help us with a smile on their face, a special thanks to Roberto & Alexandro is deserved, during our stay they helped us with everything, were always happy for a chat and just went what felt like above and beyond for us every single day, they just made us feel so welcomed and at home.
We would happily come back here and would love to come back here again! 12/10!

This was our first holidays with my fiancee. We chose this hotel for the convenient location with the half board package and we chose a seaview double room.
We had an amazing time in general! I am working as a Manager in a hotel as well so my feedback will be honest and constructive to help people choose this hotel for their holidays but also the Management to be able to improve a few things.
Before we arrived I contacted the Front Office to arrange a small surprise in the room upon arrival. Lidia & Noemi perfectly arranged everything as requested and they made our arrival so special. Thank you so much for that!
When we arrived from the airport, a kind man took our suitcases directly to our room, something that surprised me for a 4* hotel. Antonio made our check-in and gave us all the information, what a kind & professional man. During the whole stay he supported us the best way possible.
Unfortunately the room was not exactly as in the description. In the description we booked a seaview double bed (queen-size) but our room was a seaview twin (2 separate beds). This was disappointing, but we didn't want to put any pressure on the team, especially after such a warm welcome. But I wanted to share this detail.
The following days, the Front Office helped us to arrange an excursion to the Maspalomas Dunes with bus transfer directly from the hotel. Great service provided. Everytime we approached the Front Desk they helped us with a smile.
3 days before our check-out we requested a late check out, because we had a late flight. We were asking daily if there are any updates regarding our request, but we were advised to ask the day of the departure. Unfortunately, they told us that a late check out wasn't possible due to availability. They provided a courtesy room for 20 minutes with an appointment just to change. Not ideal.
I added more information under the tabs for more details.
Thank you for the beautiful moments!

Absolutely great location. Las Canteras beach is simply amazing. Safe at every time of day, well taken care of & clean, beautiful, cheap rent for umbrellas and sunbeds and friendly people who will rent them out to you. Illuminated 24h a day. Oh and it's never overcrowded. And there's a taxi stop directly across the city side hotel entrance.
The hotel itself is nice. Not amazing but nice and I had nothing to complain about. The staff is nice to very nice. Super friendly cleaning staff. The hotel pool at the roof is also great. Super clean and the perfect temperature for swimming, I'd estimate 28°C. And while not perfect for swimming laps (one side is very shallow), it's suited well enough so that swimming is enjoyable.
Breakfast is good especially if you factor in the room price. Almost at the level of e.g. Catalonia hotels with twice the room price.
Small minus: the safe in the room was way too small for my 14" laptop - I think it would not even fit a 13".
Heather Walford★★★★☆
Lovely hotel but the difference between the rooms even though apparently they are the same price is phenomenal. Some have private sun lounge area with wooden decking and sun bed but some have the bog standard plastic table and chairs ( guess which one i got!) The staff are very helpful especially a young man called Alex who works in the bar area at the front of the hotel. The food situation could do being addressed. Breakfast is passable but the evening meal we all found very dissapointing. Personally...if I returned...I would go bed and breakfast and eat out on a evening as there are loads of places within very easy walking distance and they are certainly not expensive.

One of the worst hotel stays I've ever had. This was my second visit to Bull Reina. My first stay was exceptional, which is why I returned, but this experience was completely different. If I could give 0 stars, I would.
We were initially given a room that smelled strongly of smoke. When we requested a different room, we weren't given any real options. The room had no shampoo, conditioner, or tissues. I spoke to Rosa at reception, who said housekeeping would bring them. However, housekeeping later told us that the hotel only provides a combined body wash and shampoo and does not supply conditioner at all. For a hotel of this standard, these are very basic amenities that should be provided.
The food was disappointing—often cold, with very limited vegetarian options. The bath towels were extremely small, and we were expected to use the same beach towel for the entire week. On our first evening at dinner, I politely asked a waiter if we could sit outside and was abruptly shouted at and told no. It was our first night, and there was no need to speak to guests that way.
I was also travelling to celebrate my birthday. My sister had requested a birthday surprise in advance, but when she contacted reception on the day, she was told it should have been arranged earlier. They wouldn't even send up a small slice of cake, which was incredibly disappointing. The reception service throughout our stay was poor and came across as dismissive and unhelpful.
On the day we left, I witnessed reception giving incorrect information to multiple guests. A member of staff—a lady with glasses—told guests they couldn't get a taxi outside the hotel and would need to call one, so my sister did exactly that. Moments later, I came downstairs and saw a taxi waiting outside. When I signalled to reception to call my sister, the receptionist simply waved her finger to say no. Another guest was also upset after being told they would have to wait 15 minutes for a taxi, despite taxis clearly being available. It was frustrating to see guests being misinformed.
To make matters worse, our bedsheets were dirty when we arrived, although the cleaners did resolve this promptly when it was reported.
The only positive part of our stay was the spa. The lady working there was absolutely wonderful and deserves recognition for her excellent customer service.
It's incredibly disappointing because I left a glowing review after my stay last June, but I've removed it after this experience. Sadly, this visit was horrific, and I won't be returning or recommending this hotel.

Hotel Concorde is advertised as a four-star hotel, but in my opinion it would struggle to qualify as a three-star property. It seems to cater mainly for package holiday guests, and for that market it probably does an adequate job. However, it is a far cry from what I would expect from a genuine four-star hotel.
The rooms were uncomfortable, and the entire hotel is in need of significant renovation. While the location is excellent, that alone cannot make up for the standard of the accommodation.
I wish I had researched the hotel more thoroughly before booking. If you are expecting a four-star experience, you are likely to be disappointed. I would rate it as a three-star hotel at best.

I would recommend this hotel for location to the amazing beach.
Don’t go anymore than bed & breakfast as the buffet not the best in quality and temperature. Plenty of local places to eat at very reasonable prices.
No tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms but ask at reception when you check in and a kettle and tea/coffee making facilities are sent pronto.
On the whole a very good place to stay, 40min transfer from the airport, staff all polite and helpful and as I said location can’t be faulted.
Camille Select★★★★☆
This 4-star hotel stands out for its excellent location, just a few steps from Las Canteras beach, making it ideal for enjoying the seafront area without needing transportation. From the hotel, there is also a very pleasant sea view, which adds value to the overall experience, especially from the upper floors and common areas.
The half-board option is well organized. Breakfast offers a good variety of sweet and savory choices, while dinner is satisfying and suitable for a relaxed stay. It is worth noting that drinks are not included with dinner and are charged separately, which is good to know in advance.
The hotel has a swimming pool, perfect for unwinding when not at the beach. A practical and appreciated service is the beach towel supply, especially considering how close Las Canteras is.
Staff are consistently friendly, professional, and helpful, both at reception and in the dining areas, contributing to a comfortable and smooth stay. Overall, a well-managed hotel with reliable services, an excellent location, and a pleasant atmosphere, well suited for a seaside stay in Las Palmas.
Daniela Flaszka★★★☆☆
Nicely located next to the beach, beds are comfortable and nice pool! Breakfast is poor/bad especially if you want healthy options. The boiled eggs are grey and rock hard as they are boiled probably days before. Scrambled eggs are cold. Overall the hotel is very old and dated but if you just need a place to sleep the pillows are comfortable and the rooms are okay tidy 🙂
Nicoleta I.★★☆☆☆
The only good thing about it is the location. Apart from it, it is wrongly listed as 4star, rooms smell bad, bad old yellow sheets, stained curtains, kitchen cocroaches in the bathroom. When you leave the breakfast you smell like burnt oil smoke. Never again back here.

I have already stayed at this hotel twice and will definitely return again. The hotel enjoys a prime location right on the beautiful Playa de Las Canteras beach. The sea-view rooms offer breathtaking views and the picturesque sunsets can be enjoyed directly from the balcony while relaxing at the end of the day. The rooms are also very well appointed and tastefully furnished. All the main attractions are within easy walking distance, and everything you need for a carefree stay is close at hand. The hotel staff are exceptionally courteous, helpful and do a fantastic job every single day. ¡Muchas gracias por todo y hasta la próxima! 😊

The location is excellent, with direct access to a beautiful sandy beach.
A special thank you to Davide at the reception, who even speaks Czech. As tourists from such a small country, it was a wonderful surprise and made communication so much easier.
We would gladly come back.
Thank you! Děkujeme! Gracias!

A perfect, comfortable seaside escape with my mum!
The hotel’s amenities were just what we needed for a relaxing trip. We spent our mornings enjoying the delicious, freshly cooked breakfast and our afternoons relaxing on the beach. It was the perfect blend of comfort, excellent service, and a beautiful beachside location. Having a half board option was an excellent choice for us. This was my second time at this hotel and we will definitely be back!

After having a good experience with the same hotel group in Tenerife, we decided to stay with them again in Gran Canaria, and we were very happy with our choice.
The location was perfect, right by the sea and in a very central area, with everything within easy reach. The hotel was clean and comfortable, and the staff were very helpful and friendly throughout our stay.
There is also a gym in the hotel’s other building, just a couple of minutes away on foot. It was a nice extra to have, even though it wasn’t in the same building.
One small downside was that there was quite a lot of humidity in the room, and there was a slight musty smell. However, given how close the hotel is to the sea, this may simply be related to the humidity in the area.
Overall, a great location, helpful staff and a very pleasant stay.We would definitely choose this hotel group again.

The hotel location is the best and the staff extremely friendly.
The rooms are spacious but outdated and mine was not 100% cleaned when I checked-in (bin not empty, glasses with fingerprints). Also, I cannot lock the door/window to the balcony (floor 6).
The breakfast has a nice view on the beach and offers various food options which were good

Excellent location just steps from the Las Palmas beach promenade. The hotel is exceptionally clean, but what truly stands out is the helpful, service-minded staff. I had an important video meeting during my stay, and the receptionist quickly arranged a quiet workspace with fast Wi-Fi so I could participate without any issues. Highly recommended!

A chain hotel right on the Playa de Las canteras.
location is great if you want to be literally on the beach.
the rooms are very basic, without even a coffee machine or tea kettle but efficient, large enough, and even though my room had a balcony looking over the Playa de las canters sound proofing was great and it wasn't noisy.
The hotel seems busy but the two elevators were, somehow surprisingly, available almost all the time and quite fast.
I was in the hotel for a few days In an academic conference and got to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner and I can say that the food is on the disappointing side. there are a lot better options all around.
service at the front desk was always nice, efficient and forthcoming, several of the catering stuff at the restaurant however were grumpy and unpleasant.
it seems to be popular with Iberia air crews, as we saw several groups of them during our stay, so that probably means something,
I didn't pay for it myself so don't know about costs but I don't think it's a very expansive hotel.
probably wouldn't have been my first choice for a hotel but as I didn't choose it it was more than ok for a few days professional stay.

Lovely hotel, great location on the beach with the sound of the waves. Superior Seaview room has a large balcony. It is clean (serviced every day), has a good coffee machine, very comfortable bed and best of all, a fantastic shower. And compared to other hotels, we found it quiet, minimal disturbance from other guests in the corridor or from neighbouring rooms.
Breakfast was what I call 'business standard', and addition of local products rather than generic European staples would really have elevated it. But the selection is there to suit all tastes.

Very friendly staff, we were made to feel very comfortable during our stay. Maria was very nice and helpful during the checkout process and storing our luggage until our late night flight. Our stay here was absolutely perfect and made our trip to Gran Canaria even more special. The hotel is spotless, very well maintained, and the service truly feels five-star from the moment you arrive.
Every staff member we met was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The 24/7 reception team always greeted us with a smile and made us feel genuinely cared for throughout our stay.
Our apartment was cleaned every day and always smelled fresh and pleasant afterwards. We stayed in room 302, which was wonderfully quiet — we never heard any noise from neighbors, making it very relaxing and peaceful. Very nice apartment hotel just by the beach. Clean rooms (room cleaning offered every day) and fully equipped functional kitchen. Our room had AC, TV, WiFi and a small balcony. Just across the street, there's a small supermarket and there was a taxi stop just around the corner. Great location! We will probably return to this hotel some other time when we go to Las Palmas. The only, minor, negative thing I can think of is that the bed mattress were quite hard and not so comfortable to sleep on after a couple of days.

Tarkan Gürsoy★★★☆☆
If you are going to book this hotel, make sure to get a room with an external-facing window. What they call a "courtyard view" is actually just a view of a wall; if you are on the lower floors, it feels like a total prison. The hotel’s Wi-Fi is terrible, and because of the thick walls, mobile data doesn't work either. If you plan on watching TV, the signal is awful and constantly cuts out. In bad weather, the room feels like a jail cell because you have zero contact with the outside world.
While it is certainly quiet and the room size is adequate, there is a very outdated and ugly yellow color scheme that ruins the atmosphere. The bathroom is large, but the shower area was not clean enough. Also, unlike many Spanish hotels, there was no bidet—perhaps because it’s a 3-star property.
Since our room was on the 2nd floor, we mostly used the stairs. However, the elevator we used once definitely needs maintenance. The reception staff were hit-or-miss; some were quite grumpy. On the plus side, breakfast was sufficient, though the buffet could use more fresh items like greens and tomatoes. The breakfast staff were always hardworking and had a smile on their faces. The hotel's location is easily a 9 out of 10.

The location is good, right near the beach. The staff are friendly and helpful. I went there with a deal where I got a free breakfast from the place next door which I really liked.
The WiFi stopped working for a night, I told them about it and it got fixed nearly immediately.
The only 2 downsides is that I asked for coffee one morning, usually hotels have those little free coffee things everywhere, but they said they had none at reception, the cleaners had them, it just seemed to take ages for me to simply get coffee.
And the view from my room pretty uninspiring, however these are both very minor issues, I can't realistically give 5 stars because of these things. I would definitely use this hotel again though.
Johann-Lukas Voigt★★☆☆☆
The hotel looks freshly renovated from the outside, but all renovations where done really cheaply by amateurs. Worst things first :
1. The room door had a several millimeter gap where even light shone through. You could here EVERYTHING. When room service knocked and I was still in the bathroom, I just told (not shouted) to not come in yet and they agreed. 2. The breakfast room was way too small and I had to eat standing several times because the table waiting queue was too long. 3. The room I was in had basically no sunlight. The only window was opening to a 4x4m backyard with 8 floors and I was on the bottommost. Felt like a prison cell. 4. They repainted the stair handles and walls why I was there, but without any taping off. The only positives were the friendly staff and the great location.

Nice little, serviceable hotel. The rooms are spacious and very clean. Bathroom and bedroom are also well equipped.
Location is perfect for Las Palmas stays. Based on a side street just a stone throw away from the beach and shops, restaurants, cafes etc
Reception is manned 24hours and staff were all friendly, polite and helpful.
Nice view from the rooftop but there is building work going on from the building next door so the view is also restricted if you're hoping for a 360 scenic view.
Negatives are the lifts are incredibly slow and often out of order. We stayed on the 6th floor and it was quite frustrating walking up and down the stairs.
We stayed for 5 nights, the first three nights rooms were cleaned and all waters, towels and amenities were refilled or replaced.
However the last 2 nights the rooms were not cleaned and amenities were not updated or replaced.
Hotel was reasonably quite however you can hear guests closing doors and staff/cleaners in the corridors.

1 out of 5 stars – It feels like negative reviews disappear, but I’m posting mine anyway.
It feels like negative reviews about this hotel tend to disappear, but I still want to share our experience so that other travelers can make an informed decision.
We stayed at NH Playa Las Canteras from December 2024 to January 2025, and unfortunately, it was one of the worst hotel experiences we have ever had.
From the moment we arrived, we were met with an unfriendly and unwelcoming attitude. The staff seemed uninterested, and during our first few days they made no effort to make us feel welcome or assist us in any meaningful way.
Although we had booked a room with a view, we were given a room that was in poor condition. Several things were broken, including a door handle, and the ventilation smelled unpleasant and felt unhygienic. The room looked nothing like what had been advertised and certainly did not justify the price we paid.
We were traveling with our small Pomeranian and were charged almost €50 per day for our dog. Together, we paid around €400 per night, which, in our opinion, was completely unjustified considering the hotel’s standard, comfort, and overall quality. For that price, you can stay in a genuine luxury hotel with far better service and facilities.
We also received very little useful information from the hotel. For example, nobody informed us that the hotel offered laundry facilities. Instead, we had to find a laundromat ourselves and pay additional money to wash our clothes.
Housekeeping was another major disappointment. Our room was cleaned poorly, and it was only after we complained several times to the hotel manager that the situation improved. Guests should not have to repeatedly complain to receive a basic standard of cleanliness.
The surrounding area unfortunately made our stay even worse. On our very first evening, a man tragically fell from a nearby building and lost his life. The scene remained visible for several hours and was extremely distressing to witness. On another day, after returning from the city, we also saw an area where a deceased person was lying under a white sheet. Of course, these tragic events are not the hotel’s fault, but they contributed to making the area feel very unsafe. We also witnessed what appeared to be open drug dealing on nearby streets.
In addition, we did not always feel welcome as tourists in the area. At one point, our small Pomeranian was even struck by a passerby during a confrontation, which was both upsetting and frightening.
The only positive aspects of our trip were the beautiful ocean and the pleasant weather. Those were the highlights of our stay—not the hotel.
In our opinion, the photos used to advertise this hotel do not accurately reflect reality. The hotel appears modern and attractive online, but the actual condition was a huge disappointment.
Unfortunately, I cannot recommend NH Playa Las Canteras to anyone. Considering the price, there are many better hotels available in Las Palmas. We will never return.

One of the Worst Hotel Experiences of My Life – NH Playa Las Canteras, Las Palmas, Gran Canaria, 3 star.
This was, without any doubt, the worst hotel experience I have ever had. I cannot understand how this hotel has so many positive photos online because our experience was nothing like what was advertised.
In my opinion, the advertising is extremely misleading. The pictures give the impression that guests can book beautiful rooms with terraces. We specifically expected this, but after arriving we discovered that our room had no terrace at all. Instead, we were placed in a tiny, suffocating room facing what looked like an internal ventilation shaft. The room felt more like a storage closet than a hotel room.
The ventilation barely worked, making the room unbearably hot and stuffy. There was a terrible smell throughout the room and parts of the hotel. Cleanliness was far below what anyone should reasonably expect. During our stay we even encountered cockroaches, which was absolutely unacceptable.
Nothing seemed to function properly. The room maintenance was extremely poor, the ventilation was ineffective, and the overall condition of the hotel made us feel uncomfortable throughout our stay.
We traveled with our small Pomeranian and were charged almost €50 per day just for our dog. On top of that, we paid approximately €400 per night for two people for what turned out to be one of the worst hotel rooms we have ever seen.
Over a two-week stay, that amounts to approximately €5,600 for accommodation alone, excluding the daily pet charges. For that amount of money, we could have stayed in a genuine luxury suite at a much better hotel nearby. We chose this hotel because it accepted dogs, and we deeply regret that decision.
What shocked us even more was what we experienced outside the hotel. On our very first day, immediately after leaving the hotel, we saw a deceased person lying in the courtyard surrounded by a large amount of blood. It appeared that the person may have fallen from a height, although we obviously do not know what actually happened. The body remained there for a long time before emergency services removed it. It was an extremely traumatic experience.
Later during our stay, while walking through the city, we again encountered what appeared to be another deceased person covered on the street, and it remained there for several hours while we were nearby. Witnessing these incidents left us feeling shocked and unsafe.
Although these tragic events are not the hotel’s responsibility, they contributed significantly to our feeling that the surrounding area was not a place where we felt safe staying.
Overall, this holiday became one of the most disappointing and distressing travel experiences we have ever had. Between what we believe was misleading advertising, the poor condition of the hotel, the lack of proper ventilation, the cleanliness issues, the high prices, and the disturbing experiences in the surrounding area, we left feeling completely let down.
I would never stay at this hotel again and cannot recommend it to anyone. If your experience is similar, carefully document everything with photographs and communicate with your travel provider, insurance company, or booking platform to determine whether you may be entitled to compensation or a refund.
For us, this hotel represented exceptionally poor value for money and was one of the biggest travel disappointments we have ever experienced.

Had a good stay at this hotel for business. I ended up forgetting some personal items when I checked out and the hotel staff were very helpful in returning them. Thank you to Alberto, the Front Office Manager who assisted me.

Good location but the windows are like tissue paper so you hear absolutely everything from the street below(so bring your v best earplugs). Friendly staff, amenities are ok but a little dated. Ultimately not fantastic value for money.

We stayed at Hotel LIVVO La Escarlata at the end of February 2026.
The room seemed nice at first but it was not very clean and there were a little bit of need for fixing here and there. The window was to the corridor so there weren't any views outdoors.
When we arrived the safety box of our room was locked even though it should've been open. We had to ask from the reception for someone to open it for us.
We specifically bought the room with a breakfast and honestly the breakfast was not eatable. There were no butter for the bread, the eggs were cold, there were no fresh vegetables and there was a 10 meter queue for the coffee machine. The breakfast room was really small, crowded and loud.
We ended up not eating anything at all and when I mentioned this at the reception they told us we would get a refund for the breakfast which we never did.
For all of these reasons I would never stay at this hotel again.
The location was great though. Right by the beach and close to the carnival stage. And the bed was comfy. Our room was pretty quiet even though it was the carnival weekend.

Very good location, very kind reception staff but horrible breakfast. Don’t bother booking breakfast for the money and just go get some outside at one of the local places.
The rooms were clean and neat. Our room was looking at the inner courtyard which was not the greatest due to activity in the morning, it was hard to sleep in if your window is open. In the bathroom the floor boards had water damage and gave a funny smell in the room. The rest was fine.
The reception staff are super kind and sweet. The best thing about this hotel are them. The breakfast staff are horrible and very rude. One they eggs are missing, the other day they end the breakfast too early.
The location is great. Next to the beach and at the heart of Las Palmas. If you are not gonna be spending much time at the hotel I would recommend it if you get a good offer.

Nice hotel just few steps from the beach. The place is clean the staff are friendly and helpful. However the rooms are so small with no kettles and utensils , only a TV, fridge and a Nespresso machine. Given the limited in-room facilities, the price feels a bit high compared to other 4-star hotels in the area. I hope the management considers adjusting the pricing to better reflect the value offered.
Anjana lópez muñoz de león★★☆☆☆
The hostel staff were very kind and friendly, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The bedroom was clean, and the bed was comfortable.
However, the overall experience fell short of expectations for a 4-star hotel. Several advertised amenities were either unavailable or not functioning. The TV signal was not working, and both the rooftop terrace and jacuzzi were out of use.
Basic supplies for the Nespresso machine, such as coffee capsules, sugar, milk, or even a spoon, were missing despite requesting them at reception. Additionally, there was no kettle or tea available in the room.
The hotel's website mentioned that bathrobes and slippers would be provided, but these were not available in the room. While towels were supplied, the lack of other promised items was disappointing.
Although the staff cited the hotel's recent opening (only a week prior) as a reason for these shortcomings, it still did not meet the standards expected at this price point.
Overall, it wasn’t worth the cost.

Stayed here a week, end of July to beginning August
Our hotel room was the presidential suite, and for the money we paid it is most certainly the biggest room we've ever stayed in. There's much needed air con, a mini fridge, great views and huge beds. Lots of wardrobe space for everyone's requirements. There is only an option for breakfast which is a buffet style and we didnt plan on utliising the whole time, but after they charged us such a low amount for the week (2 adults 2 kids) it was such a great deal.Having just breakfast isnt too bad though as there are copious amounts of varying restaurants just a few minutes walk away.
I would like to point out how friendly and HELPFUL the staff are here, from running to grab us cutlery when we brought food back to the hotel to giving us a breakdown of the excursions we asked for down to the last detail.
A special shout out for Natalia at the front desk for always being warm and welcoming to our whole family.
We chose this area as the 'north' of the island is less touristy, and have just about managed to flesh out the whole week with activities, saying that I think any longer may have been a struggle to entertain the kids.If you dont mind a bus trip and a bit of Hoo-Haa then the rest of the island , especially the south, has alot more activities.
Ooh I forgot to mention the rooftop pools, theres an adult pool which most of the time was empty, a small jacuzzi and kiddies splash pool. Nice views on the rooftop of the port and surrounding areas also.
Thank you, Exe Las Palmas for a wonderful week

Everyone, this hotel is not even a hotel — it is on the level of a cheap motel. The 4-star rating makes absolutely no sense given how terrible it is. The floors and bathroom throughout the hotel are worn down, and the refrigerator is so dirty there was even hair inside it. It is simply a cheap motel. Do not be fooled. For the sake of the development of Spanish tourism, places like this should either be shut down or forced to undergo renovation. Even the windows looked like they were installed in the 1990s. Super dirty. do not go.

This hotel deserves -1 star. Honestly, it’s infected with mold. I booked it through Booking.com and the rooms are nothing like the pictures. As soon as you enter the hotel you can smell the mold, musk and the sewage. It’s extremely poisonous for human health. I initially booked it for 3 nights but I’m leaving early. I have allergy to mold and if you have respiratory issues you might even die in this place. Honestly authorities should do something about this hotel. And it’s so surprising that Booking.com is partnering with this hotel. It’s a total disgrace for 100€+ a night.

We had a good stay at Exe hotel. We paid a small fee to have early check in, chocolates and a fruit basket. It was well worth the nominal fee as we were able to check in at 10:00 in the morning, unpack and enjoy the rest of the day.
The staff are all very friendly and helpful. They are cheerful and we always received a warm greeting whenever we returned to the hotel.
We did not have any problems with street noise. Our room had no view to speak of , we just faced an old apartment building across the street. Our room was well taken care of and we slept well.
Access to the beach and transit is very handy. It is just a short walk to both. It is lovely to be able to walk on the promenade at the beach where there are many shops and restaurants.
The breakfast was okay. We had it both mornings. I do wish that they had told us that there was an additional charge for breakfast. When we checked in, we were just told what the breakfast hours were but there was no mention of an additional charge for breakfast.
There is a small rooftop pool and hot tub and I imagine that in the peak season it would be very busy. The problem with the pool area is the lack of umbrellas for shade. There was no shade at all and it was too hot and uncomfortable sitting in the sun.
We would stay at Exe again. The service and staff are great, it’s in a good location, the room was comfortable and the price was fair.

The rooftop bar was closed most of the time, this being one of the reasons I pick this hotel (2 times was due to the bad weather to be honest). The breakfast was kind of boring, mostly the exact same thing every day, but definitely not bad at all. These are the reasons why I chose 4/5 stars. Other that this, everything is great, the staff, the facilities, the cleanliness, location and so on. I would most likely pick this hotel again.

Nice hotel close to Las Canteras beach. Pity about our view but we were only there for 1 night so it didn't bother us.

For the price, this was a great accommodation. The rooms aren’t huge or anything. However everything is new and tidy and clean.
The hotel itself has a nice rooftop bar with a great view of the ocean and a decent enough gym. Location is also perfect - right by the beach without being surrounded by crowds of people. The cherry on top for us was Bryan at the front desk, who was so helpful and sweet!

A very modern hotel in a great location, featuring a rooftop bar with excellent drinks – especially beautiful at sunset. The reception staff were very friendly, and the rooms were stylish and well-kept. Overall, the hotel leaves a very clean and welcoming impression. We did not book any meals, so we cannot comment on the food.

Our room (junior suite) was weird, the shower wasn't in the bathroom but in the room area (there were partly blurred glass walls). Not for very modest people. Toilet was separate. Also, every now and then the sewer stank. Otherwise everything was great, staff, location, breakfast, beach towels.

The hotel is in a great location, just 50 meters from the ocean, and you can see the ocean from the room windows. The rooms are fairly spacious, though cleanliness could be improved. The staff is very patient! It’s a good choice.

Only option we could afford the day before when our provider cancelled, we were a little worried after seeing the reviews but everything was fine. The room was very spacious, the bed was large and comfortable and it was clean. Reception staff polite. Good location for the beach and nice that you can hear the waves as you sleep.
Sharon Pearce★★★★☆
It’s a great hotel. Staff are very nice and always helpful. You can hear the sea at night and even thought it’s close to the promenade it’s never too noisy to have a window open.
It has its own special charm and ambience.

The room was basic and I had a kitchen which I didn't really understand, no kitchen equipment so for who want to use it, not really possible. Bathroom was quite bad, mold on different places and the shower head couldn't stay on the clip because it was broken. I couldn't make use of the breakfast, I stayed there for work and got picked up before it started. The service was fantastic even though there English is not perfect they really do there best to help you as good as possible. As I've been on worse places this was not to bad but for holidays I wouldn't book it myself.
The location is great, the video shows the view from the end of the street where the hotel is located, not even a minute walk and I could see it through my window a little bit as well.

This is NOT 3 star hotel, it has standard of hostel.
Very basic acomidation, there was kitchen but without any kitchen equipment. Not a single glass or plate in the room, no electric kettle. What is the purpose for the kitchen in this case? We paid 150 euro for one night and the epkace is not worth 50 euro.
The only positives is friendly staff and location close to the beach.
The hotel itself is very poor, one of the worst accommodation I 've ever been to.

A room with a view. Being able to watch the New Year's fireworks display from our balcony was amazing. An older establishment but the beds were comfortable and the service great. Perfect location with a very good Italian restaurant just outside the door on one side, and a take away ice cream parlour on the other side. What more could one ask for! Highly recommended if you don't want to splash out on swankier lodgings!

If you want unobstructed seaview and location right on the city beachfront without paying yourself sick, this is the place to stay. Shopping and great tapas- and churro places all around and local- as well as long distance buses on comfortable walking distance. Super nice staff. Rooms are a bit dated but enjoy the view from the balcony and nice surroundings instead.

We stayed here for one week, and the overall experience was excellent. Our room had a beautiful sea view and a lovely balcony. We enjoyed having breakfast on the balcony during the first few mornings, which was a great experience. The location is perfect, and the hotel staff are polite and friendly.

Best place to be on the beach. Nothing special, just a place to stay with low cost. Great view to sea from balcony.

Adding extra details to the review now we are back home. A great apartment with sea views and easy access to the floor by lift.
Love the Natural Pool just outside the front door no more than about 30 steps away. Loved it.
The room is very clean and tidy, a sticky apartment door but I understand these are due to be updated some time soon. No problem caused.
The beds were very comfortable, the balcony is fantastic to sit watch at all times of the morning, afternoon and night-time.
Easy access to many local bars and restaurants and great sunsets. (Unfortunately not whilst we were there on this occasion)
The Internet was faultless, speed was fantastic and UK channels on the TV when we sat down to have a rest and a cuppa.
Certainly will visit these apartments again - Highly Recommended. Thank You

Stayed for two nights. The location is excellent, the service really helpful and everything was very clean. The rooms are on the smaller-side and the luggage storage isn't in a secure area. However, for the price it offers excellent value, so I can't complain about the stay

Nice rooms and clean. The location is great near beach, about 1 minute on foot, near the Santa Catalina Park and terminal, about 5 minutes on foot. Sadly they gave us 3 portions of shampoo and shower gel for 5 nights stay. Also the toilet ventilation was broken and never fixed. The breakfast was descent.

Great hotel in an excellent location. Very comfortable bed and spotlessly clean room. The staff at reception were great and the breakfast on offer was good too. I recommend parking at "Parking Portoluz" it's €16.75 for a full 24 hours which is great value in my opinion and it's located less than a 5 minute walk from the hotel as well.

Very good hotel! Great location, off the side of the promenade, about 3 min walk. You won't get a great view from the room but you can walk to the sea in no time. The room itself was great and had a kettle and a cool light up ceiling over the bed. All the rooms have a name, which I thought was nice.
The staff were really excellent! Very friendly, welcoming and accommodating, they really contributed to the good experience.
Breakfast is quite basic in variety but has everything you'd need (eggs, meats, cereal, fruit, pastries etc) and I really enjoyed it.

My husband and I have just had a lovely holiday in Gran Canaria staying at the Dona Luisa Hotel. The staff at this hotel are totally amazing - particularly Irene and Angie. Two very smart, pleasant, professional young ladies who were at reception. Their knowledge of places of interest in Gran Canaria was excellent and nothing was ever too much trouble for them. The hotel may only have 3 stars but the quality of their staff is definitely 5 star . I miss coming downstairs in the morning to their smiling faces!! Gracias ladies!!

Very cozy and sweet hotel. I loved my room, it's perfect for 1 person. I appreciated all the small details in a bathroom (including sponge for shoes and toothbrush). I also liked to window view - yes, it's only another hotel, but a lot of sun as well.
Breakfast was nice, also I could call taxi through reception.
But people working there are very sweet, friendly and helpful in any situation - was I late for a breakfast, or did I need a printout, they helped with everything.
And the best in this hotel - a terrace on a roof. It's something incredible beautiful, with a great view and sunbath (especially if it's too windy on a beach). I had great moments there, playing my ukulele
Tips for Choosing the Best Hotel Near Las Canteras Beach
Selecting the perfect hotel along this long, varied beachfront requires more than just looking at a map. The atmosphere changes noticeably from one end of the beach to the other, and room quality can vary even within the same building. These practical tips will help you match a property to your travel style and avoid common disappointments.
Decide which end of the beach suits your pace. The southern end near La Puntilla is ideal for food lovers and those who want an authentic, local feel, while the central stretch suits nightlife and shopping. If you want quiet mornings and a more residential vibe, look towards the Alfredo Kraus Auditorium at the northern end.
Check whether the hotel is on the promenade or set back from it. Properties directly on the Paseo de Las Canteras offer unbeatable views and instant beach access, but rooms facing the promenade can be noisy until late. A hotel one or two streets back often provides better value and a quieter night’s sleep, while still being a two-minute walk from the sand.
Prioritise rooms with sea views only if you will use them. A balcony overlooking the Atlantic is a wonderful luxury, but if you plan to spend most of your time exploring the island, a city-view room can save a significant amount of money. Some hotels also offer side sea views that are a good compromise.
Look beyond the big chains. Some of the most charming stays near Las Canteras are small, independently run guesthouses and boutique hotels. They often provide more personalised service, local design touches, and a stronger connection to the neighbourhood than larger corporate properties.
Consider parking before you book if you are renting a car. Street parking near the beach is extremely limited, and many smaller hotels do not have their own garage. Check whether the hotel offers private parking, and factor that cost into your budget, as it can add up quickly for longer stays.
Read recent reviews for noise and renovation details. Las Canteras is a lively urban beach, and construction or renovation work can affect nearby buildings. Recent guest reviews will tell you more about the current state of the property, the quality of the beds, and the reliability of the Wi-Fi than the official hotel description.
The best hotel near Las Canteras Beach is the one that aligns with how you actually want to spend your days. If your priority is stepping barefoot onto the sand within seconds, a beachfront high-rise is hard to beat. If you prefer a quiet retreat after a day of exploring, a boutique guesthouse on a side street may feel far more rewarding.
Whichever property you choose, staying near Las Canteras gives you a genuine slice of Canarian coastal life. You will wake up to the sound of the Atlantic, eat where the locals eat, and experience Las Palmas not as a tourist passing through, but as a temporary resident of one of Spain’s most vibrant urban beaches.
