12 Fast Food Spots near Centre Georges Pompidou

Finding a quick, satisfying meal in one of Paris’s most culturally vibrant districts doesn’t have to mean compromising on quality or spending a fortune. The area surrounding the Centre Georges Pompidou is a dense tapestry of historic streets, contemporary art, and surprisingly practical dining options for visitors and locals alike. Whether you have thirty minutes between museum wings or need a casual dinner after exploring the Marais, the neighborhood delivers with remarkable efficiency.

The term “fast food” in this part of Paris extends far beyond the typical American burger chains, though you will find those too. Here, the quick-service scene is heavily influenced by French boulangeries, Middle Eastern street food, and Italian slice shops. The goal is to eat well, move quickly, and get back to soaking in the atmosphere of the 4th arrondissement.

Because this area is a major tourist hub, some restaurants directly on the main square can be overpriced and underwhelming. The savvy traveler knows to walk just one or two blocks away from the Rue Beaubourg to find the spots where Parisians actually grab their lunch. These hidden gems offer better value, faster service, and a more authentic taste of the city.

One of the greatest advantages of eating near the Pompidou is the sheer variety of dietary options. You can easily find vegetarian falafel, halal grilled meats, classic French jambon-beurre, or a slice of pizza within a five-minute walk. This density makes it an ideal location for groups who cannot agree on a single cuisine.

Additionally, the architecture of the neighborhood encourages eating on the go. The pedestrian-friendly plazas and the sloping piazza in front of the museum provide perfect perches for people-watching while you eat. However, finding the right vendor first requires knowing which spots prioritize fresh ingredients over frozen convenience.

To help you navigate the culinary landscape of the Beaubourg area, we have compiled a list of the best fast food spots that balance speed, flavor, and value. These selections are based on proximity to the museum, consistency of quality, and the overall experience they offer to a hungry visitor.

Below is a curated selection of the most reliable quick-service restaurants and stands located within walking distance of the Centre Georges Pompidou.

I have never heard the Quick chain until I came to France. And if you haven't been there, you do not need to bother. Quick feels like the French or European version of BurgerKing (being the secondary brand) giving Whopper vibes. At least, Whoppers are char-grilled and definitely taste different than McDonalds, in a good way. Well not at Quick. Quick serves cardboard meat burgers that after a single bite, my kids could not proceed through. They look fabulous on the walls and advertisements but absolutely disastrous in terms of taste and quality of the food. Only giving it 2 stars because the interior was really clean and well air-conditioned. I hear that Burger King is actually taking over Quick. I'm not surprised.

Fast food chain, good food for good value. We were able to find a place easily when we visited (sunday night)

My burger had a fried fly as a free gift! 🪰And the best part is the staff won't even admit there's a problem, instead they claim it's "impossible". Well you be the judge of that. They gave me a new burger free of charge, and the cashier was very nice so 2/5

Just bought an XL Super Classique burger with Grand Frites for takeout. I have to say that it was not a good burger. The burger is dry, and squashed, and the fries are dry & tasteless. To add insult to injury, even though there are 3 girls making up the order, I got a standard Coke instead of a Cherry Coke like I ordered, I asked without ice, but it came with ice, and there was no ketchup or basliic ketchup that was supposed to come with the order. Very disappointing considering it’s not very busy. Wait until next week with all the Olympics visitors, this restaurant will struggle. Maybe I should try McDonalds or 5 Guys next time.

Tried their Burger and was as dry as Sand. You can't eat these burgers without drinking galons of water. Can't recommend it! But ... There is a five Guys near by 😜

★★★★★ Had a good experience at the McDonald’s at 5 Rue du Renard, 75004 Paris. The location is very convenient, especially when exploring central Paris near Centre Pompidou. The service was quick and efficient, the outlet was clean and well maintained, and the food quality was consistent with expectations. It was a reliable stop for a quick meal, especially during a busy day of sightseeing. Overall, a convenient and satisfying experience, ideal for a quick and easy food break in the area.

The location is decent since it is near Hotel de Ville. I went there with my friends but it was slightly hard to find a table for 5 persons and it wasn't spotless at all. After all it still is Mc Donalds and the proximity made for for the slight lack in hygiene. I was surprised by the high price of the food since I took medium fries and 4 nuggets and I paid 8,10 E. My friends took a Happy Meal and a Maxi Best Of. My friend who took a happy meal was dissapointed as he paid extra to get a milkshake but it was warm when it arrived although my other friend was hapy with what he got as he got a 2nd big fries for free as Mc Donalds has this offer where, if you get a maxi best of you can get a second portion of fries. These slight downsides were compensated by the fact that service was very fast compared to the other Mc Donalds of the same size. The only last downside is the fact that if you want to access the male toilets you have to cross the female toilets. A good aspect of this restaurant is also the decorations of the walls (see photo which looks like metal with graffiti)

The machines didn’t have the numbers where u can get food to your table. There also was not a paper for receipt. After i payed i was left without anything to prove i have an order. Just the fact that “I remember the number it showed for 3 seconds”. The girl how was giving out orders was talking on the phone in FaceTime all the time. The drinks were spilling. There are a much smaller choices of drinks and food sets. The machines where you can “do it yourself” didn’t have any other language than French. Overall felt worse than 2 other places in Paris where i was yesterday. 🙁

### Review of McDonald's Restaurant I recently visited the McDonald's restaurant located very close to Notre-Dame de Paris, and I was very pleased with my experience. First of all, the atmosphere here is really pleasant. The establishment is decorated in the classic McDonald's style, which creates a cozy space to relax after a day of exploring the city. Secondly, the restaurant was not too crowded, allowing us to enjoy our meal in a calm environment. I was impressed with the quick service as I waited no more than 12 minutes for my order, which included the Fish sandwich — a slightly unusual choice for McDonald's, but definitely worth it! However, it's worth mentioning that the air conditioning was not working during my visit, which made the dining experience a bit warmer than I would have liked. Additionally, the staff was polite and attentive, making our visit even more enjoyable. It's also nice that access to the restroom was free, and the availability of a handicapped restroom demonstrates consideration for all visitors. Overall, if you're looking for a place to grab a bite near Notre-Dame, McDonald's is a great choice. I highly recommend it!

No English on a menu what made it a bit complicated to make an order. Feel bad for a toilet because it usage required a payment and there was no hygienic items, not gonna even mention menstruation hygienic items. I was expecting something better from European branch of international company

I was waiting at the checkout to pay for my order when the staff member walked away and left me there. I waited for over 10 minutes, and nobody bothered to help me or take my order. This was an extremely disappointing experience, and I have never seen such bad service at a Burger King.

Dirty The place was dirty, and the space is ridiculously small for the number of people in this area. The staff is seriously lacking in training and professionalism; they're unintelligible, and there's complete disorganization. It's unbelievable that in 2026 they haven't taken advantage of technology to improve service. I absolutely do not recommend it.

Authentic filthy experience. Traveling the world not even in India I saw a place that smelled to rotten soda, dirty pigeons on tables, disgusting toilet, and powerful bins smelling to rot. Avoid! Perhaps the worst burger king in the world.

They close at 2am but denied service at 1am after a World Cup match. I’m hungry and upset. Get your staff right

If you love your family, do not eat here. If there’s ever going to be a restaurant where the next coronavirus starts, it’s definitely this Burger King. I have never eaten in a place where you have to watch for bird droppings while rushing through your food just to get out as fast as possible. This was by far the worst fast-food experience I’ve ever had. And look, when you go to Burger King, you already know it’s not a five-star restaurant. You’re just expecting a quick burger and fries, something simple to fill you up. But I kid you not, I had to rush through my meal making sure bird droppings didn’t land on my food. Totally disgusting.

My family and I visited this store, and it delivered exactly what we expect from Five Guys. The food was great, and the experience was just as good as at other Five Guys locations. I’d also like to thank the staff for their kindness. When my daughter asked for an extra patty, they generously gave her one at no extra charge. We really appreciated the excellent customer service.

I would really like to give a special shout-out to Ophélie. She was working incredibly hard and was constantly helping customers, even to the point where her voice was almost completely hoarse from calling out orders and communicating with everyone. Despite how busy and exhausting it was, she remained professional, friendly, and genuinely dedicated to her work. You could clearly see how much effort she was putting in throughout the entire service. Employees like Ophélie deserve to be recognized and praised. I sincerely hope her management sees this review and gives her the appreciation she deserves. She is a real asset to the Five Guys team! ❤️

Five Guys absolutely hit the spot. The burger was juicy, flavorful, and cooked just right — honestly one of the best fast food burgers I’ve had in a long time. The fries? Delicious. But pro tip: only go for the large if you’re really hungry — the portion is massive. I was also shocked at how many soda options they have. I felt like a kid at a soda fountain playground. You could mix and match so many flavors I didn’t even know existed. The whole experience just felt... satisfying. Tasty food, friendly vibe, no nonsense. Will definitely be coming back.

I have sat here for 2 hours. Let me tell you, the staff are incredible. They serve customers with true genuine interest in hospitality. The bathrooms and restaurant are pristine. The sauce station is kept tidy. Security guard is alert and vigilant and has kept off any naughty teens. The staff are attentive and will provide table service and they have kind mannerisms! In terms of the food, the fries are the best I’ve had on a global scale having tried five guys in many countries around the world. Parisian five guys have a real unique potato flavour. I adore the Cajun too. The milkshakes are done well. I do wish they add more of the bacon when I choose it as a flavour. The burger needs some improvement, the burger patty itself is dry and can definitely improve to match its competition burger places. However for me, the hospitality and staff make this place incredible and a clean place to eat. Kudos to the staff for upkeeping this place.
Radu Catalina★★★★★
This is a very nice place to eat, with friendly staff and good quality food. The burgers are great, I love that you can personalize your burger, the large fries can feed up 4 people with these big burgers. The place is clean, there are enough tables, you have drinks and sauces to refill and nowadays, the staff brings the order at your table. I recommend to order to the desk, as the machines can cause you problems and it may happen that you paid and you have no receipt.

This was, without question, the worst KFC experience we have ever had anywhere in the world. The hygiene and food handling practices were deeply concerning. Staff were preparing food with bare hands, handling cheese and meat directly while assembling burgers. Several employees had long hair without any hair coverings, which was alarming to witness in a food preparation area. Most disturbing of all, we observed a staff member who had been cleaning the toilets immediately return to serving customers and delivering trays without washing their hands. That alone was enough to destroy any confidence we had in the restaurant's food safety standards. After paying for our meal, we made the difficult decision to walk out without eating because we no longer felt the food was safe. Burgers had been sitting prepared for what appeared to be at least 30 minutes, piled on top of one another, and were completely cold by the time they were being served. The fries were also cold, stale, and inedible. To make matters worse, the two items we specifically ordered online to try—the Curly Fries and the Sundae ice cream—were unavailable. Despite paying extra for them, they were substituted with lower-value items without any meaningful explanation or compensation. This was an appalling and genuinely upsetting experience. The lack of basic hygiene, poor food handling, and disregard for customer safety were unlike anything we have encountered at any KFC. It is difficult to understand how this restaurant continues to operate without urgent intervention and a thorough health inspection.

American fast food chain; came here because we were craving something other than French food but found that this place was more popular than expected. We waited for 40 minutes to receive our takeout order. You can order at the kiosk and pick up at the counter. The pieces were smaller but still crispy. We had a combo so we also received fries and 3 drinks. The recipe was a bit less spiced than what we’re used to but we liked how there were different sauces

French KFC! It's an interesting experience. Pretty seamless ordering food through the kiosks. Food itself is nice and a bit different than my home country. Tastes great and I enjoy the reuseable containers everything comes in.

It's a good place with seating if you wanna grab a quick bite. You can make your own sandwich (15 cm or 30 cm) and there are menus to choose from too. I absolutely love their cookies. The riquisima food as always, the surprise is the excellent attention of its employees are all so friendly, that I decide to come back only because here they are very cheerful people, if you are in Paris and you want to eat something fast this is the best place in the whole region, one of the guys speaks a little Spanish and it is super nice the attention he gave me, I travel around various parts of the world and see this level of Atenc.

The shawerma is not authentic, small chopped chicken pieces rather than the authentic chicken thin slices, and the marination needs some adjustments. The bread used is tortilla not any of the middleeastern Saj bread or Regular bread. It takes small extral touches to be unique and authentic. The sides were tasty and well balanced. Tabbouleh, hummus and Mtabal were tasty and really liked the creamy soft garlic sauce, with minimum garlic effect. Prices and menu were reasonable, and food was served fast enough. Generally nice experience. Only if the shawerma is authentic Syrian then it would be easy 5 stars spot!

It’s a hole in the wall and doesn’t look very welcoming. I had a chicken shawarma sandwich which was very delicious and had a lot of chicken in it and two falafel, which were ok, but not my favorite. I highly recommend to sit outside. Tables and chairs were perfectly clean.

I usually don’t leave reviews for fast food restaurants but I felt I needed too because the service was truly exceptional. I came in with my little sister who is autistic and one the employees there, a short girl with short dark hair, was just incredibly nice and understanding of our situation. She was so patient and cheerful even though it was during rush hour. I was really touched by how warmly she treated my sister and me (and all that with really good English!) Keep up the good work!

We went here on Sept 29, 2023 and there were at least 5 rats we could see coming out from under the restaurant and into the trash cans. Makes me nauseous thinking of what the kitchen sees and what happens after the lights go out. We ordered a sundae and double espresso though, which were decent.

If you’re a tourist or even a local, this is literally the worst McDonald’s in Paris, if not France. The worst service you will ever receive with the attitude to match. I tried their table service where you use the app to order your food brought to your table. I tried it, and after 20 minutes went downstairs to see why I still hadn’t received my food, only to see it sitting on the counter. As I walk up, two workers are actually laughing about who’s going to take the order up. It has already been 15 minutes since the notification that my food was on its way. The manager was standing there with them, hearing the laugh, and said nothing to either of them. I said that’s my order, and it’s been 15 minutes. The long-haired guy goes oh la la and walks away. I take the tray, and walking up the stairs, I realize, wait, this food is ice cold. As I bring it back down the stairs, turning the corner, the drink falls. This is where the balding, overweight manager in his yellow-stained white shirt says he’s not replacing the food. Because I spiked the drink, I said it doesn’t matter if I spilled the drink; the food was cold, and I waited over 15 minutes from when the app said the food was coming. He said, I’m not replacing it. Of course there’s absolutely zero way to receive or contact anyone on the French McDonald’s app via email. You have to either write or call, which of course isn’t possible for a tourist. I would attach the video and photos, but I'm sure they'll have it removed. So they stole my money, and I never got my food.

was served the smallest sundae I’ve ever received, and it was missing the caramel I paid for. When it was finally added, there was no apology or explanation. The portion size was unacceptable and poor value for money. I will be making an official complaint about this experience.

The food was extremely disappointing — bland, poorly made, and tasted like it had no freshness at all. Definitely not what you’d expect, even from a fast-food place. What really ruined the experience were the washrooms. They were in terrible condition — dirty, smelly, and clearly not maintained properly. For a busy location in Paris, that’s unacceptable. Affordable price and reasonable for fast food and more specifically burgers. Best choice would be the double meat burgers, one thing to keep in mind is that the portion is not big so better tomorder more than one for persons who usually eat more than average.

Normal Macdonald's, efficient and fast ... suitable for a quick bite. They have the signature burgers that you don't find at any Macdo. To be tried but a bit expensive in my opinion(+2€ for single steak , +4€ for double steaks). The burgers are bit messy from time to another. Staff are generally friendly. Rest room not clean whatsoever.

Horrible service. I ordered with pay at the counter. Waited for 20 minutes. Got swayed off with "pay there" but no one came. They made my order without calling it out. Still no one came to help me. Then after another 10 minutes she came and said "sorry. Re-do it." And had to wait another 10 minutes. Not time one wants to waste in a fast food restaurant.

Unfortunately, this was my worst experience at a fast-food restaurant—in fact, the absolute worst ever. 1. There is no information about meal contents on the ordering screens; some items are listed using abbreviations, forcing customers to choose based on appearance, only to be surprised by unwanted ingredients like bacon. 2. There is no regard for customers who do not eat bacon, as if their entire clientele belonged to a single culture. 3. The staff member handing out orders does not speak to you at all, even when asked a question. 4. Drinks are served in glass cups, yet they refuse to provide a straw—demonstrating a lack of concern for public health and the transmission of germs between customers. 5. The drink was not cold enough and was served without ice, contrary to what was requested. I do not recommend visiting—in fact, I strongly advise against visiting Burger King in France altogether.

We were there today at around 4 PM. The staff’s behavior was very rude, especially the few employees standing at the front and calling out the orders. The sandwiches were served cold. I also asked for a glass of water, politely saying, “If it’s not a problem, could I have a glass of water?” One of the employees replied, “Ça me dérange” (“That bothers me”). Overall, a very disappointing experience. Save your money and don’t waste it here.

This place was well kept, clean and delicious for lunch. Came straight from the airport/metro while we wait for our hotel and was the perfect place to wait. I would recommend! 🌟

Very tasty and good burger. I had double cheeseburger large which was very good indeed. Typical fast food taste but it can take away your hunger. The screen order system was really cool The toilets on the other side were of the worst I have ever visited.

Tips for Choosing Fast Food near Centre Pompidou

Navigating the quick-service dining scene in a high-traffic tourist zone requires a bit of strategy to avoid the common pitfalls of inflated prices and mediocre food. By following a few local insights, you can ensure that your quick meal is a highlight of your visit rather than a regrettable stop. These practical tips will help you eat like a local and maximize both your time and budget.

Venture off the main square. The restaurants with terraces directly facing the Pompidou often charge a premium for the view rather than the food. Walk down Rue Rambuteau or into the side streets of the Marais to find spots with better quality ingredients and lower prices. A five-minute walk can often save you several euros and improve your meal significantly.

Look for the lunchtime crowd. If you see a line of office workers or locals queuing up at a bakery or kebab shop around 12:30 PM, join them. High turnover means the ingredients are fresh and the reputation is solid. Locals will not waste their limited lunch break on bad food, so a busy queue is the most reliable indicator of quality.

Embrace the French bakery lunch. For the fastest and most quintessentially French option, skip the sit-down cafe and head to a boulangerie. A baguette sandwich, a slice of quiche, or a savory croissant costs very little and is prepared in seconds. This allows you to take your food to the nearby Place Igor Stravinsky and enjoy the kinetic sculptures while you eat.

Check for combo deals and menus. Many Middle Eastern and Italian fast food spots in the area offer a "formule" or combo meal that includes a drink and a side, such as fries or a salad. These deals are almost always a better value than ordering items à la carte. Always ask for the "menu" price before ordering individual items.

Prioritize made-to-order over heat lamps. While speed is the goal, avoid places where burgers or pizzas are sitting pre-cooked under a warming lamp. Opt for spots where the falafel is fried when you order or the sandwich is assembled in front of you. The difference in texture and taste is substantial, even for a quick bite.

Be mindful of peak dining hours. The area gets extremely crowded between 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM, as well as around 8:00 PM. If you are on a tight schedule to enter the museum or catch a show, try to eat a little earlier or later. Grabbing lunch at 11:45 AM or dinner at 7:00 PM will save you from long lines and crowded seating areas.

The area around the Centre Georges Pompidou proves that fast food in Paris can be both delicious and culturally authentic. Whether you are craving the crunch of a perfectly fried falafel, the simplicity of a French baguette, or a classic slice of pizza, the neighborhood offers a solution for every palate and budget.

By stepping just outside the immediate shadow of the museum, you open yourself up to a world of local flavor that fuels your exploration of the city. Take your meal to go, find a spot on the plaza, and enjoy the unique energy that defines this artistic and culinary heart of Paris.
