Sitting along the left bank of the Guadalquivir River, the Torre del Oro is more than just a historic military watchtower; it is the geographic and emotional anchor of Seville’s vibrant riverfront district. This dodecagonal tower, dating back to the 13th century, draws thousands of visitors daily who come to admire its golden reflections on the water and explore its maritime museum.
After climbing the ramps of the tower or strolling along the adjacent Paseo de Cristóbal Colón, the Andalusian sun and riverside breeze have a way of working up a serious appetite. Fortunately, the streets surrounding this iconic landmark are a gastronomic playground, offering everything from traditional tapas bars to modern fusion cuisine.
The area immediately around the Torre del Oro is unique because it sits at the crossroads of several distinct neighborhoods, including El Arenal and the edge of Santa Cruz. This means you are never more than a short walk away from a bustling local tavern, a hidden rooftop terrace, or a refined dining room serving Andalusian classics.
However, a location this popular can be a double-edged sword. While the streets are lined with restaurants, not all of them offer the authentic quality or value that discerning travelers and locals expect. It is easy to fall into a tourist trap if you do not know where to look.
To truly eat well near the river, you need to know which spots are frequented by Sevillanos themselves and which kitchens are dedicated to sourcing the best local ingredients, from acorn-fed Iberian ham to fresh seafood from the Andalusian coast. This guide cuts through the noise to bring you only the most reliable tables in the shadow of the tower.
We have curated a list of dining establishments that excel not only in flavor but also in atmosphere, service, and value. Whether you are looking for a quick bite before a river cruise or a long, leisurely dinner after visiting the cathedral, these selections cater to every pace and preference.
Below is our curated selection of the best dining options within walking distance of the Torre del Oro, ensuring your visit to this historic part of Seville is as delicious as it is visually stunning.

We stopped off here for pre dinner drinks on our last night in Seville.
It is an extremely stylish venue high up above the river looking out toward the Cathedral.
We didn't have any food hence the lack of rating for their food.
The service however, drinks and vibe plus its amazing location made it a very special place for early evening drinks.
We enjoyed a couple of hours soaking up the vista and our drinks.

The floor-to-ceiling glazed windows create a truly delightful atmosphere, offering stunning views of the iconic Torre del Oro as a breathtaking backdrop. I chose the Triana Gourmet Experience menu and thoroughly enjoyed the leisurely two-hour journey through 7/8 courses, each arriving one by one. Every dish was exquisitely presented, and the waiter’s detailed explanations added a lovely personal touch to the experience. The smooth foie gras was an absolute highlight and my clear favourite. While the acidic, cold and raw Ceviche wasn’t quite to my taste, it was still interesting to try. The evening concluded with an interesting dessert "Disaster with the cappuccino" (not a coffee) rounding off a wonderful dining experience.

We celebrated my partner’s birthday at Abades Triana and it was everything we hoped for. We booked a Premium Table and the front-row window view of the Guadalquivir and Seville was absolutely spectacular, especially as the city lit up in the evening.
The welcome drink and thoughtful little birthday dessert were lovely touches, and the atmosphere was elegant and perfect for a special occasion. When we had a little mixup with our order, it was immediately fixed.
It is certainly a little more expensive, but for a special celebration, the experience was absolutely worth it.
Thank you, Abades Triana, for helping make his birthday so memorable. ❤️

Lovely views across the river back to the city. Delicious food and excellent, attentive service.
Don't be put off by the ostentatious main entrance. Continue a little way down the sidewalk, past the hedges, and you'll find an entrance to a more casual deck with the same menu/kitchen.
And don't miss the Disaster with the Capucino!

We were lucky enough to be able to get a table without a reservation and were very happy with their recommended menu combinations. Excellent food and beautiful view as well. Only negative aspect was that we had to flag a waiter down every time we wanted a new drink.

On our last night in Seville, we decided to have dinner at a restaurant by the river. The view was amazing and the atmosphere was beautiful.
The staff were very kind and helpful, which made the experience even better. The only downside for me was that the food was a little too oily, but overall it was still a lovely place to spend the evening.

Sadly not a nice experience for us! Our last meal in Sevillla and came here on a recommendation. Service was shocking no eye contact the only time we got a smile was when we paid. Food was ok but nothing amazing. They had Sangria on the drinks menu but told us it was not available. Not once were we asked if we were ok if we wanted another drink. Would not return here or recommend here.

ATTENTION TO ALL - PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE
I was recommended by someone local to come to this restaurant, perhaps this place used to be good, with the majestic view and everything
Sorry for the bad review but I hope the boss can read this as this is by far the most disappointing eating experience thus far anyone can have in Sevilla, and I do not say this lightly as I’m generally quite generous with my reviews.
We have made a reservation in advanced for the balcony thinking we will have an amazing view of the river. NOPE. Many others were sitting by the bar waiting for the same although we already have reservation for this.
When asked about moving to the table with nice view, we were given rude replies from the staff regarding about the seating, although this is just a genuine question, I can understand that many people have ask them this and they are tired of this question.
Their system is extremely disorganised and everyone is unsure who they are taking care of, we had like 4 different servers, some were rude, some were nice, I will not further say regarding the poor service from the staff. I feel as a customer of this fine establishment, I do not feel like we were being taken care of which is such a shame as where the hospitality from Spanish people in Sevilla are nice.
We were not told or warned by the staff that the food will take a long time to arrive (we were waiting 40 minutes for our food which generally takes 15 minutes for paella) which is also understandable but it would’ve been nice to be told about this from the start.
One of the server came to our table to ask something in Spanish and since we don’t speak about Spanish (no hablo espanol, she just left us without any care in the world), no updates, nothing
For 40 euros for the arroz (paella) from a majestic restaurant, this is by far the most disappointing food experience any paying customers can have.
Only ended up being 2 scoops of rice and 2 prawns per person, which ends up being 40 euros. If you do the math, the math ain’t mathing here.
Even the rice taste like a they use, salt, seafood stock cube, and 4 prawns.
I do wish the drinks could also be better but it taste nothing like pineapple and taste more diluted with a bit of alcohol.
Total everything was 60 euros which I was hesitant to pay, and at this point, the servers are aware that I’m unhappy with everything but what can I say, when asked by the server who would like to give feedback to her boss?
For 60 euros, I can spend much more elsewhere for much better food and experience than getting servers who are constantly looks rude, annoyed, or don’t care.
Actions speaks louder than words
To note, not all servers are bad but I’m afraid to quote
“One bad apple can spoil the bunch”
Or should I say orange in this case
Please if you’re a tourist from any other countries, AVOID this place like the plague, I’m now eating seafood paella at another place for 20 plus euros and I can tell you it has more than 2 prawns.

I'm sorry I don't have more pictures but it was end of day and my phone died. Everything was delicious and fresh! Beautiful view on the river. Excellent service. Great experience! Visited March 2026.

Beautiful restaurant. Terrible food & dismissive behaviour for steep prices. Explicitly stated still water and was given sparkling, when asked for still again they did not bother taking away the sparkling or apologising for the error. Staff quite clumsy too, carelessly dropping food on our table. As you can see in the photo we were actually served oven fish nuggets. Tiny portions of bad food + super stale fries

I am not a big fan of pizza, however, this pizza was delicious! I could smell it cooking in the oven and I knew it was going to be great. From the quality of the pepperoni to the thin and crispy crust was nothing from perfection. Do not skip on the spicy sauce it added a whole new level to the pizza. Definitely recommend!

Having a wonder around and found this little gem! I ordered the pepperoni pizza, with added chilli oil recommended by member of staff, delicious. I can truly say it is the best pizza I've had for a while, the reviews don't lie. I am currently sat outside eating said pizza while typing this review. Thank you

I've been traveling around Portugal and Spain for about a month, and I can say this is the best pizza I've had so far. The dough is perfectly thin, the toppings are generous, the service is excellent, and the staff member was helpful and polite. I should also mention that the pizza prices are quite reasonable. I think I'll definitely come back here. If you're in Seville and looking for good pizza, give this place a try.

Hello! I am from Budapest, Hungary, but now I am working in Seville as a tourist guide.
I discovered this pizzeria because my partner went during the breaks and it was my best discovery.
I lived in Italy for a while and I can tell you that the calzones at this place look like real Italian calzones.
You can choose the ingredients and the flavor is incredible.
The guy is very nice, customer service is 10/10, sometimes there is a beautiful white puppy at the entrance, I hope that little guy has a good salary.
In conclusion, all 10/10, I'm going to leave some photos so you can see the quality of the food.

We visited here for lunch on a hot summer day and enjoyed the food and the vibes.
It has a charming setting surrounded by historic buildings, and the menu offers a nice selection of Italian cuisine. The restaurant itself is located inside a beautiful historical building which adds a nice touch to your meal.
We enjoyed a nice meal paired with some wine inna calm and family-friendly atmosphere.

This Italian restaurant was excellent overall. The food was authentic, the portions were generous, and you could feel the chef's care in every dish. It's the kind of restaurant you'd want to return to after just one visit. I will continue to be a regular customer and would be happy to recommend it to friends.
The restaurant's ambiance is classic yet comfortable, with a wonderfully created atmosphere, perfect for small gatherings with friends or enjoying a leisurely drink.
The only area for improvement is the comfort of the seating. Some chair backs are not ergonomically designed, causing lower back discomfort after prolonged sitting, and the seats are also a bit hard. If the owner could optimize the seating, I believe customers would be more willing to stay longer and enjoy the atmosphere with a drink.
Overall, this is an Italian restaurant worth visiting again. The food and atmosphere were both satisfying, and I look forward to their continued success.

La Casa del Tesorero is a true gem in the heart of Sevilla’s old town. The food was absolutely delicious, every dish was full of flavour and beautifully prepared. The staff were incredibly warm, attentive, and accommodating, making the whole experience feel welcoming from start to finish.
What really makes this restaurant unforgettable, though, is the building itself. Set inside a beautifully preserved historic house, the restaurant has been artfully converted while keeping so many original architectural features intact. Dining here feels like stepping into Sevilla’s history while enjoying good food at the same time.
A perfect combination of atmosphere, history, and fantastic cuisine. Easily one of the most memorable dining experiences we had in Sevilla. Highly recommended!

5-star restaurant with delicious menu. We ordered pizza, which was very very delicious. And Tiramisu, also was great... Tinto verano was one of the best and fresh we have drunk so far in Sevilla. This was our last restaurant stop before our flight, and it turned out to be a great choice. We ordered eight different tapas along with a glass of traditional orange wine. Out of the eight dishes, only one was a little disappointing — the rest were delicious, especially the kangaroo and the Iberian steak, which stood out for their flavor and quality. The staff were friendly and provided an English menu, which was really helpful. It does get quite busy on weekends, so it’s worth being patient or arriving a bit early to secure a table. Prices were reasonable too, making it a solid option overall.

Primary Account★★★☆☆
Was recommended this restaurant by our tour guide. However was disappointed. In our opinion the food was just not that great. Tomatoe salad needed more seasoning. Calamari was chewy. Sirloin with roquefort was nothing special. Don't like leaving negative reviews, but just want to give our honest opinion. Bright lighting at night created a not so nice ambience. Waitress definitely did not want to be there.
Andrei Nita★★★★☆
Good food for the prices, crowded during lunch hours and that is why the waiter was snappy and always in a hurry. For example she forgot to take the order from one of us, or if we asked for more cutlery they brought it wet and and handed it to me directly in the hand to give to the person who asked for it.
Also pretty hard comunication if you don't speak spanish or italian. None of the waiters seemed to speak English.
Otherwise the service was quick and the fiod good.

The best meal in Sevilla so far, came for the tortilla but do not skip the mushroom and prawn risotto! With a glass of dry white wine this was fantastic. Great service and reasonably priced too. The only thing I would say is the Iberico sausage plate was maybe not so worth it.
Lucia Tomondyova★★★☆☆
I visited with my partner, who had previously enjoyed excellent meals here, especially the tortilla. Unfortunately, this visit did not reflect that same level of quality. We ordered white sangria but received red (served in a very small wine glass instead of the larger one typically used) and there was no acknowledgment or apology when menttioned. The “patatas bravas” were simply basic fried potatoes.. . The first tortilla tasted reheated, though to their credit, they did replace it with a freshly made one when we asked (i recommend aksing for a fresh one).
Attention to detail seemed lacking: an accompaniment arrived already opened, and the aioli tasted mostly like mayonnaise. And the servers appeared a bit inexperienced.
Although the food came quickly, much of it felt reheated rather than freshly prepared, and not corrently done. Overall, the experience felt very mediocre. Wouldn't come back as for same price there better prices.
Paulo Machado★★☆☆☆
Not the best experience.
Dishes came one by three one so not the tapas experience. Once we thought we were finished, one more dish came to the table.
How ca one enjoy half brie with 6 little toasties ?
Really poor service and absolutely not a good ratio for quality/money.
Not recommended!

We had a party of four. Two vegetarians, one pescatarian, and one omnivore. We ordered accordingly and all of us were raving throughout the meal. Between us we ordered five dishes and all were great. The omnivore and pescatarian declared the mushroom and prawn risotto the winner, as it was an eye closing masterpiece. The only way we felt it could be improved is with more prawns, which we felt were added too sparingly. The vegan burger was also a smashing success in all of our opinions. Finally, the sangria was refreshing and flavorful. We ordered seconds. If your party has a broad diet, make your way here! 👌🏻
jacqueline teo★★★★★
Amazing tapas at a great price! The Spanish tortillas were amazing and delicious, as the garlic aioli goes well with the dish. The mushroom and prawn risotto was done to perfection and the tapas size made it easier to order other dishes.
We could order either tapas or full plates for the dishes 🙂 the food portion was generous as well!
Service was also really good as the waitress tried to tell me what was in the dish. Will recommend to friends if they are in the area!

Absolutely beautiful restaurant! Service was a bit chilly to nonspanish speaker but still very good. I selected the days three course special, pasta, tuna teriyaki and a beautiful coconut ice cream (cakey) with mango cubes. Absolutely delicious. A nice radar of sparkling wine to finish a spectacular lunch. Including a red vermouth, two glasses of red wine ir all came to less than $25. Outstanding!

Very nice restaurant, Perfectly timed on my part as I was just seated when the local patrons came pouring in. As I've been in Southern Spain for about 3 months and have eaten mostly Mediterranean food I just was craving a hamburger. The food was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The wait staff professional and friendly. One warning if you're from North America go ahead and ask for Ketchup up front as your hamburger will come with brown sauce.

We stumbled across this restaurant and chose a table outside. We had a great waitress, Ruth who looked after us very well. We ordered various Tapas and a paella for two to share between 4 of us. The plates came steadily to allow us to eat hot food and it was all delicious. We had 2 bottles of good wine followed by a brandy. Ruth then brought us a caramel and cream shot then with coffee she brought us a mini choc ice.
The bill for this was very reasonable and the service from Ruth was fabulous. Thank you, we can highly recommend this restaurant.

Has a mixed experience while dining here. We went here for dinner without a reservation and they seated us at a table near the bar, which was fine .
However the service is very very poor, it was quite cold and it took a long time for us to actually get English menus and get their attention to place our order.
The food however was quite good . We ordered a large variety of things. All are very well priced and generous in portion.
You must try the risotto it was the best of the lot, the fried cheese was also excellent. The spinach with chickpeas was good but a bit dull in flavour.
The pork loin was not worth it , too rubbery and bland , same with the shrimp .
We really enjoyed the orange wine.
Overall a decent experience to dine never the water.

Its seems that this restaurant is actually a franchise bc they've "La Gorda" in Las setas and also in La Magdalena, so thus one is my third time in this company.
Alright, the decoration is certaintly cozy, and the environement is not bad, suitable to stay at lunch of after work.
However the service is and being honest, lame. The waitress "carmen" had NO CLUE of english, she didn't make neither the less effort to understand me just saying "no english,no english, no english" like if she were a parrot. I think she didn't take my order properly either bc I noticed that some of the tables that came after me they got their meals first, and one, it like were like two, and the order the dishes arrived in a very messy order, the one that was supposed to be the starter (spinach with chickpeas) arrived at last, when it supposed to be the first item to be on table!
Definitely they should improve the service bc not only locals are paying for your wage, d' you understand?
Anyway, the food was actually good there was no need to season it, bc it was made properly, specially the sirloin with roquefort sauce which it was by far, the best thing I've order.

Huge shoutout to our waiter, Jonaton, who was super friendly, attentive, and made the whole meal even better. Fantastic food and top tier service. Highly recommend stopping by if you are visiting Sevilla!

Food all tasted good especially the beef croquettes. Our server missed a few dishes and drinks we ordered multiple times however. We weren't charged for them so just seems he didn't put them in but it was confusing whether we had more food/drink coming.

We came here on our first night in Sevilla, had multiple tapas and some postres with drinks. Had an amazing time, great food across the board and enjoyed attentive service! Our favourite dishes were the salmorejo and the torrijas. Highly recommend this place!!

Unfortunately reviews are very misleading. Place is very nice. Service is poor. We had prawns and octopus cold salad which tasted good but the seafood portion was ridiculous, barely any in it. Same for the duck croquettes. Tasty but little to no duck. Then we had paella, they told us waiting time was about 30 which fine with us. When arrived was very dry and bland. Big disappointment. We ordered a sangria which never arrived and then a second bottle of water that never arrived. Waste of money unfortunately

I stopped in for an early dinner after visiting a few sites in Seville and it was a great choice. The service, food, and wine were all great and made for a relaxing break from exploring the city. As a big fan of mussels, I had to order them and they were quite tasty. Everything felt fresh and well prepared. I would definitely recommend stopping in if you’re in the area.

This was our second visit to this restaurant this week, and once again, it did not disappoint! A huge thank you to our waiters, Fila and Javier, who were both incredibly welcoming, friendly, and accommodating throughout our meal. They made sure everything was served promptly and to an excellent standard, making the whole experience feel effortless.
We enjoyed some lovely drinks and desserts, and the thoughtful touch of bringing us little sweets at the end of the meal was really appreciated. The service was exceptional from start to finish, and it made our evening even more enjoyable.
I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Seville, and I'll definitely be coming back the next time I'm here. Thank you again for another wonderful experience!

We had a wonderful time at Morante. Without reservation the staff immediately put together a large table for the 10 of us. The ox tail risotto was great but the black fish paella was missing some flavor. Burger and other meat dishes were really good. The staff was attentive and kind. Overall definitely worth a visit.

We were very happy we ate there last night! We were greeted by the nice guy the hostess and taken immediately to our reserved table our server Anas was very helpful and pleasant too, we ordered octopus, steak, fried peppers as a side dish and chocolate dessert and everything was delicious! They have an amazing wine list with local, national and even international wines. We will definitely come back!

Friendly staffs. Nice interior. We came in because I saw the beautiful interior but maybe there were other options if you are a foodie.
Also a bit on the expensive side.
We ordered Sangria (yummy) and fried cod fish (not great) and pasta (noodles were not al dente, but flavor was not bad). Overall if you want a good atmosphere you could visit here.

I followed the Google recommendation to Morante Restaurant on April 9th and was immediately charmed by the cozy ambiance. Since the paella was portioned for two, a lovely staff member named Claudia suggested the Arroz Cremoso con Carne—and it was absolutely stunning! The Sangria de Vino was also delicious. I truly loved everything: the food, the drinks, the service, and the wonderful atmosphere.
Tips for Dining Near Torre del Oro
Navigating the culinary scene near a major landmark requires a bit of local strategy. While the restaurants listed above guarantee a high standard, understanding the rhythms of Seville’s dining culture will elevate your experience from good to unforgettable. Here are a few essential tips to keep in mind when planning your meal.
Embrace the Late Lunch: Seville operates on a different clock than much of the world. Lunch typically starts around 2:00 PM and can last until 4:00 PM, while dinner rarely begins before 9:00 PM. If you arrive at a restaurant at 7:00 PM, you will likely find the kitchen closed or the dining room empty. Plan your visit to the Torre del Oro around these hours to experience the true energy of a Spanish meal.
Look Beyond the River View: While dining directly on the riverbank sounds romantic, the establishments with the most prime views often rely on foot traffic rather than repeat customers. You will often find higher quality food and better prices by walking just two or three blocks inland into the El Arenal neighborhood, where the competition is based on culinary reputation rather than scenery.
Order the Local Specialties: While paella is famous throughout Spain, it is not historically the dish of choice in Seville. Instead, look for local tapas such as espinacas con garbanzos (spinach with chickpeas), solomillo al whisky (pork loin in whisky sauce), or carrillada (braised pork cheek). For seafood lovers, the fried fish (pescaíto frito) sourced from the nearby coast is a must-try.
Check for the "Menú del Día": If you are dining on a weekday afternoon, many restaurants offer a fixed-price lunch menu known as the menú del día. This typically includes a starter, a main course, a drink, and dessert or coffee for a very reasonable price. It is the most economical way to sample high-quality, home-style cooking without overspending.
Reserve for Dinner: While lunch can often be a spontaneous affair, securing a table for dinner is highly recommended, especially on weekends. The best restaurants near the Torre del Oro are small and fill up quickly with both locals and tourists. A quick phone call or online reservation ensures you do not waste valuable vacation time waiting on the sidewalk.
The area surrounding the Torre del Oro serves as a perfect starting point for a sensory journey through Andalusian cuisine. Whether you choose a historic tavern that has been serving sherry for a century or a modern bistro reinterpreting classic flavors, the food here tells the story of Seville’s rich cultural tapestry.
As the sun sets and the tower glows amber against the twilight sky, there is no better way to end your day than by savoring the flavors of the region. Take your time, order another glass of local wine, and enjoy the unhurried pace that makes dining in Seville one of the great pleasures of European travel.
