Saint-Tropez has long been synonymous with glamour, yachts, and sun-drenched Riviera living, but the village’s culinary scene has evolved into something far more compelling than a simple backdrop for celebrity spotting. Beyond the flash of the Vieux Port and the designer boutiques, a deeply rooted Provençal food culture thrives, shaped by generations of fishermen, winemakers, and market gardeners. Today, that heritage coexists with a wave of ambitious chefs and creative restaurateurs who are redefining what it means to dine well on this storied stretch of the Côte d’Azur.
The best tables in Saint-Tropez are not always the ones with the loudest buzz or the most expensive champagne lists. They are the places where the quality of the produce, the precision of the cooking, and the warmth of the welcome come together in a way that feels both effortless and unforgettable. Whether you are looking for a barefoot lunch after a morning on Pampelonne Beach or a candlelit dinner in a hidden backstreet, the right restaurant can transform a simple meal into the highlight of your stay. The key is knowing where to look, what to order, and when to book.
Seasonality plays an enormous role in how and where you should eat here. The summer months bring an electric energy and a demand for tables that can make spontaneous dining nearly impossible, while spring and early autumn offer a calmer, more authentic rhythm. Many of the most celebrated addresses close for the winter, but a loyal core remains open year-round, serving the local community with dishes rooted in the traditions of the Var. Understanding this seasonal ebb and flow will help you plan a more rewarding gastronomic itinerary, no matter when you visit.
Price points vary as dramatically as the settings themselves. You can spend a small fortune on a beach club lunch with your feet in the sand, complete with rosé magnums and grilled langoustines, or you can sit at a zinc-topped bistro counter and eat a flawless pissaladière for a fraction of the cost. Neither experience is inherently better; the right choice depends on the mood, the occasion, and the company. What matters is that the food justifies the bill, and that is precisely where careful selection makes all the difference.
This guide is built around a simple principle: value is not about cheapness, but about the relationship between what you pay and what you receive. The restaurants featured here have been chosen for their consistency, their sense of place, and their ability to deliver a meal that lingers in the memory long after the last glass of Bandol rosé has been poured. Each one offers something distinctive, from wood-fired coastal cooking to refined Mediterranean tasting menus that rival anything in Paris or Monaco.
Before you make a reservation, it is worth considering what kind of Saint-Tropez experience you are actually seeking. Are you here for the scene, the sea, or the serious gastronomy? The answer will guide you toward the right table, and the recommendations that follow are designed to cover all three without compromise. Keep in mind that during July and August, even the most modest addresses book out days or weeks in advance, so plan ahead and always confirm your reservation directly with the restaurant.

4.5/5 stars. Made a reservation for lunch and were seated quickly. We got a seat outside with a nice view of the church. The menu was a set lunch menu with a 2 course meal (choice of appetizer or dessert plus an entree) for 27 euros, and you order from this wooden board, not a physical menu.
I got the stracciatella, tomatoes, and arugula pesto for the appetizer, and the sea bass for the main. The appetizer was refreshing, and I enjoyed the mix of herbal flavors. The seabass was tender, and I enjoyed the side of veggies, although some parts of the dish were a little too salty. I tried my husband’s dessert - the pavlova, and it was light and not too sweet. It took a little while to get the bill (as is typical in Europe), but we enjoyed the food and the view.

The menu was small but thoughtfully curated, and every dish we tried was absolutely delicious. We were lucky to get a table outside on a charming little side street, which created a cozy and authentic atmosphere. It was calm and relaxing, yet close enough to the other guests to give the restaurant a warm and lively ambiance. A wonderful dining experience that we would happily recommend.

Great midi option, good price (27 plat + entrée ou dessert) to be in saint tropez. The plat was very good but the tarte tropezienne was one day old and sec. Service not very welcoming

My husband and I took a day trip to Saint-Tropez for our honeymoon and stopped here for lunch. It was the BEST dining decision we made because it was truly one of the best meals we have ever had! I‘m still dreaming about it. Everything was incredible at absolutely reasonable prices. I wish we could have stayed in Saint-Tropez just to revisit this gem of a restaurant.

We had incredible food in St. Tropez but this might have been our favorite. A small menu typical French experience with amazing food. Cute atmosphere in the old town. 10/10

Review to Management
We were really looking forward to our family meal at La Petite Plage after having such a good experience at NOTO next door. Unfortunately, our evening was completely spoiled by the service we received from our waitress, Charlotte.
From the moment we sat down, the attitude we experienced was extremely disappointing. Charlotte asked if we wanted the wine list, and I simply asked if we could have some water. From that moment onwards, the service felt completely different.
It took around 30 minutes to order our starters, followed by another 30 minutes before we could order our main courses. By the time we were ready to order dessert, another hour had passed and unfortunately it was then too late.
This was supposed to be a lovely family evening, but the poor service and attitude made the whole experience extremely frustrating and disappointing.
I am addressing this directly to management because I genuinely believe that this level of service needs to be taken seriously. One member of staff can have a huge impact on a customer’s experience and, ultimately, on a restaurant’s reputation.
We had a completely different and very positive experience at NOTO next door, where both the food and the staff were excellent. Based on our experience, I would recommend trying NOTO instead.
I hope management takes this feedback on board and looks into what happened, because we certainly won’t forget how our evening at La Petite Plage was handled.

A noticeably excellent choice in St Tropez
Especially when others at the harbor front are well below standard & overly expensive.
The feta salad to start was amazing & the filet of beef with gnocchi cheese & walnuts was also very good
So was the strawberry cocktail for that matter
Lively room open to the front. Sand floor. Really nice decor
Classy & elegant with great service

The food selection is not the regular but nice fusion touches adds to it. Service is average. The avocado with crab is so good. The main we tried the kufta and lamb chops and it was fine.
Atmosphere is nice especially late in the night when it turn like a club with loud music and party vibes.
In general its worth

A Cozy Culinary Escape
From the moment you step inside, this place feels like a warm hug. Soft lighting, thoughtful details, and a relaxed, intimate vibe make it the perfect spot to unwind. Whether you’re tucked into a corner with a glass of wine or laughing over plates with friends, the atmosphere invites you to stay a while.
And the food? Absolutely incredible. Every dish is made with care — rich in flavor, beautifully presented, and just the kind of comfort food you crave but rarely find done this well. From the first bite to the last, everything was chef’s kiss.
A true hidden gem that feels like home, but tastes like something out of a dream. Can’t wait to go back.

The place looked amazing but… sorry… one of the most rude service ever! We asked for some water and no idea how many times we were if ignored. The waiter I believe she woke up with her left foot. With such attitude people should not got I work. The food was good but really… service killed all of the experience. At the end we said who is paying what. The lady was unable to calculate and add our orders and all the time was telling we don’t wanna pay for something. We were waiting 10 minutes or more that she was able to add all things… we were 6 people and really… we just took a main dish… I will never go back there again!

We lucked upon this gem of a restaurant in St. Tropez. It’s a bit off the beaten path which is a good thing, or we probably wouldn’t have gotten a table. This was some of the best food I have had anywhere in the world. The vitello tonatto was absolutely divine and those hand rolled cheese filled ravioli with fresh tomato were sublime. Every dish was five stars including the wine selections. I would eat here everyday if I could. If you are visiting St. Tropez this is as good as it gets and very reasonably priced as well! Thank you for a wonderful evening and please open a restaurant in Palm beach!

This restaurant is a hidden gem on a side street in St. Tropez. The staff are absolutely magical souls from Italy who are incredibly kind & thoughtful, and care about making your dining experience great from start to finish.
The menu is simple, and focused on pasta, but they know how to do it right and for a great price. You choose the kind of pasta and sauce you want and they will make it to perfection. We got the fettuccine bolognese and the truffle truffle ravioli and both were exceptional. We also loved the burrata appetizer.
Skip the tourist traps by the water - this is where you want to come when you’re in town.

Arrived at 12:00 with 4 kids, booked the evening before, got served at 13:15 some disgusting pastas. We were the first customers to arrive and got served last.
This is one of the worst experience ever. The restaurant is clearly not worth it.
They installed us in a smelly outdoor with sewage right under our feet. We asked to be moved and they started to argue, before eventually moving us to another spot.
Unfortunately it took them 45 mins to take our order. People who came after us got served and left before we even started eating.
The owner doesn't even apologise or try to give us a discount. He smoke before coming back to his kitchen. No sanitary protection (hair not covered).
No air-conditioning inside.
In terms of food, that's disgusting. The carbonara was dry. The "Tomato and garlic" sauce is not a sauce. Nobody finished their plate due to the disgusting taste.
Over 200 euros for this? There are so many other places in St Tropez that are better, cheaper, and more considerate to their customers. Especially the ones with young kids.
Mariusz Jernalczyk★★★★★
The food was really delicious. We ordered truffle pasta, ravioli, and lasagne, and everything was excellent. We were also able to order half a portion of bolognese for our child at half price, which was a very nice touch.
All the dishes were served together, and the staff even asked if we wanted the child’s meal to be brought earlier. Before the meal, we also received delicious little rolls with pesto.
The restaurant may be a bit off the beaten path, but places like this are often the best ones. Highly recommended!

A wonderful surprise on a quiet street, yet in a very convenient location. We had an incredibly enjoyable and delicious dining experience—it truly felt like a little trip to Italy in the heart of Saint-Tropez.
We loved it so much that, during our short stay, we ended up having almost all of our meals here.
The entire team was warm, friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. We tried the Bolognese gnocchi, the cheese raviole with tomato and basil sauce, the linguine with pesto, and the lemon ravioli with butter and Parmesan sauce. Every dish was delicious, but the lemon ravioli was absolutely outstanding—without a doubt our favorite.
The homemade tiramisu was the perfect way to end the meal, the selection of Italian wines was excellent, and we especially appreciated the limoncello the team kindly offered us after dinner—a lovely touch.
We highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely return the next time we’re in Saint-Tropez.
Thank you to the chef and the entire team for such a memorable experience!

Typical touristique place. A place that can be visited only once and never again. We arrived at 13:50 and couldn't have menu of the day anymore. Although the kitchen is opened all day long. The lunch menu they serve only till 13:30 and it's not written anywhere. The food looks good but it's not tasty. The service is smiling only when you enter.
I visit Saint Tropez twice per year, but this place I'll remember not to enter again.

Considering this restaurant is along the sea, expectations were low since this is the “touristy” area, but my mom and I were pleasantly surprised by the food here!
We went in for lunch on a Thursday in April and were able to have a seat right away. Our servers were kind and attentive. We ordered two of the specials for that day- a burger and fish and chips. The food came out quickly and the quality of the food was better than we expected, especially the fish and chips which were delicious! (The picture does not do the food justice.)
The atmosphere is trendy and the restaurant was the perfect place to relax and people watch.

Not the best experience. It took about 15 minutes just to get the menu, and another 15 minutes to place my order. The young waitress seemed completely uninterested in doing her job. The service was very disappointing, and I felt completely ignored.
The fish I ordered came with bones, a tiny portion of aubergine salad, and a few potatoes. Absolutely not worth the price.
It feels like a tourist trap because of its location in a busy area.
Please skip this place and eat somewhere else.

We visited this place after our friend recommended it because of the amazing view, and what an amazing view it was! Overlooking the beach, yachts, sunset, and mountains was beautiful and made it an excellent dining experience. We had cocktails to go with our starters. We then had salmon and steak for dinner with a delicious rosé. The staff was friendly and kind when we had questions. They spoke English well. We loved watching the sun go down as we were served each course. When it came to dessert time we relaxed with cheesecake and sorbet with espresso. There was no rush to leave and we had an amazing night at Pearl Beach. Great atmosphere.

We stumbled across here whilst visiting the area and my god. Hands down one of the best dishes I’ve had, the chef is an absolute gem! And this is someone who has been to many a michelin star restaurant in London and Tokyo. I had the sweet potato and pulpo dish and my husband had the steak.
Jelena Brdjic★☆☆☆☆
We had been looking forward to our dinner at Lorette and had made a reservation in advance.
The restaurant itself is absolutely charming and beautifully decorated, creating a lovely atmosphere. The steak was good and cooked well. Unfortunately, the fries were by far the worst I’ve ever had. Even more disappointing was the rosé wine. Considering you’re in the South of France, where it’s almost impossible to get a bad rosé, this was surprisingly the worst one we had during our entire trip.
The biggest disappointment, however, was the service. After being seated, we were completely ignored. I had to call the waiter over twice, and each time he simply replied, “I’ll be right there.” Unfortunately, “right there” turned into the story of the entire evening. He never once came to ask if everything was okay, didn’t clear away empty plates or unnecessary dishes, and we constantly felt like we had to chase him for attention.
At one point, I even asked him where he was from. He told me he was from Argentina. I then politely asked why he seemed to be in such a bad mood, hoping it might lighten the atmosphere. Instead, he gave us a rather dismissive answer and offered us a complimentary coffee. While the gesture was appreciated, it didn’t change his attitude or the overall service for the rest of the evening. To be honest, he seemed far more concerned about making sure his hair looked perfect than actually taking care of his guests.
It’s a real shame because the restaurant has so much potential and a beautiful atmosphere. Sadly, the poor service overshadowed what could have been a lovely dining experience.

Let’s start with the positive - the dinner setting is very beautiful and well decorated, with the tables surrounding the pool.
Negatives - we were walked to our table, which was missing a chair, so we waited for that to be brought over (even though we made a reservation for 3 people). We sat down and then within 5 minutes we were asked for our food order, which felt a bit rushed. Service didn’t seem friendly at all. The mains came very quickly, my fish course was okay but lacked flavour, chicken was fine. The tiramisu was so bad, as seen in another review it was like watery cream, with some cocoa powder. Lemon meringue pastry was so hard I had to ask my partner to break it for me!! We told the waitress it wasn’t very good when she asked how everything was and then replied “it’s a traditional Italian tiramisu” with no apology or understanding. As someone who has lived in Italy I can also tell you this is not the true Italian tiramisu.
- our dirty plates also laid on a tray next to us for longer than I would of liked too
- we waited for our bill for a while and got bored of waiting so went to the counter and again mentioned our dislike of the desserts to which we got a meek sorry and asked what was wrong with it which was then met with a shrug 🤷🏻♀️ they didn’t take it off the bill or apologise much.
Such a shame as we came last year and the food was excellent so we made sure to visit again this year but sadly will not be returning!

We were on time for our dinner reservation. We order an aperitif, which was fine, than sat for 45 minutes and no one came back to check on us or asked if we were ready to order even though our menus were clearly on the table in front of us. So we asked for the check, which was politely given to us, no one asked why we weren’t having dinner, and we left and ate at Gourdi and had an amazing meal. We are living in Antibes at the moment and have been to St. Tropez before and have never been treated so dismissively.

Great local spot, approved by our hotel concierge. It was a perfect last meal in St Tropez for us. Definitely need to order the mussels entree with a bottle of rose of course. For our mains we shared the truffle gnocchi (YUM) and the grilled calamari. The calamari was just okay, a little dry but the ratatouille served with it was delicious. Overall an affordable, authentic, and delicious meal with a great atmosphere!

Came here twice because it was just that good! The homemade pastas are exceptional — we tried both the truffle and the pesto with stracciatella, and while both were mouth-watering, the truffle one was simply unforgettable. The salmon tartare was generous and delicious. They do a homemade lemon meringue pie, light, fluffy, and delicate, a real surprise! Beyond the food, the service was just as memorable: the waitresses were all smiley, bubbly, and genuinely kind, something rare these days. And to top it all off, the prices were very reasonable, which feels almost unheard of for Saint-Tropez. Truly a 5-star quality/price/service!

This place is a gem !
It's tucked away from the crowds dining at the waterfront .
Simple decor and amazing food !
The mussels were sublime and the other two salads we had to share were excellent as well.
Service was great and the champagne was chilled !
We loved it and will definitely recommend it and hope to come back again on another visit to Europe.

We reserved online the same day for dinner. The staff was very friendly and all dishes were of the highest quality. The gnocchi with truffles were one of the best I've ever had in my life. All three courses did absolutely not disappoint and the price/quality ratio was excellent as well. Definitely a recommendation for everybody who is visiting St. Tropez.

Highly recommend Beyti if you’re looking for authentic Lebanese cuisine. This wonderful family-run restaurant serves incredibly fresh, flavourful food that is among the best I’ve had. The service is warm and attentive, the location is great, and every dish was absolutely delicious. You can really feel the passion and hospitality behind this place. A true gem that I’ll definitely be returning to.

Really good food, patient service that listens to my food allergies and not like most people, give me an allergen card and then do no more. Thank you for taking the time to listen to the allergies I have and for assuring me that it's not a problem and you will adapt.
Excellent authentic food.

Excellent Lebanese cuisine in a stylish new restaurant with friendly attentive service. A/C good in the heat, too! Generous portions that were all delicious. Looking forward to returning!

We had such an incredible meal here. Everything was so fresh and every dish was phenomenal. We were a family of 8 (9 if you count our 1.5 year old) and we all enjoyed every bite. The service was wonderful, everything came fast and the space was a calm oasis away from the busy streets of St Tropez! We would eat here everyday of our trip if we would.

Very nice restaurant and the service excellent, but unfortunately the food wasn’t very delicious, the octopus was very gummy and the meat was tasteless, and the beef wasn’t cooked properly. It was very chewy and required a lot of chewing.
Overall, the service was excellent and the restaurant was lovely, but the food could definitely be improved.
Practical Tips for Dining in Saint-Tropez
Dining well in Saint-Tropez is rarely just about choosing the right restaurant. The logistics of reservations, transport, dress codes, and timing can have an outsized impact on your experience, especially during the high season when the village swells with visitors and the roads along the coast slow to a crawl. A little preparation goes a long way here, and understanding the local rhythms will help you avoid the most common frustrations while unlocking the kind of meals that feel genuinely special.
Book early and reconfirm. During July and August, the most sought-after tables are often reserved two to three weeks in advance, particularly for dinner and weekend lunches. If you are set on a specific restaurant, call or email as soon as your travel dates are confirmed, and reconfirm the day before. Many places now use online booking systems, but a direct phone call can still secure a better table or a last-minute cancellation.
Embrace the late lunch. The traditional French lunch hour runs from roughly 12:30 to 2:00 p.m., but in Saint-Tropez the beach clubs and port-side terraces often stay lively until 3:30 or 4:00 p.m. Booking a later lunch can give you a more relaxed atmosphere, better service, and a greater chance of snagging a table without a long wait. It also frees up your morning for the market or a swim before the midday rush.
Dress with intention but not anxiety. Saint-Tropez is stylish, but the dress code is generally more relaxed than its reputation suggests. Smart casual is almost always appropriate, with the exception of a few high-end hotel restaurants where jackets may be appreciated but are rarely required. The key is to look polished without trying too hard, and to wear comfortable shoes for the cobblestone streets and sandy terraces.
Park outside the center. Driving into the heart of Saint-Tropez in summer is a test of patience that rarely ends well. Instead, use the park-and-ride lots on the outskirts or arrive by boat shuttle from nearby ports such as Sainte-Maxime or Port Grimaud. If you are dining at a beach club, most offer valet parking or dedicated lots, but confirm this when you book to avoid an unexpected walk in the heat.
Know when to order the catch of the day. Fish and seafood are the backbone of Provençal coastal cooking, but freshness depends on the morning market and the day’s catch. Ask what arrived that morning and be willing to follow the kitchen’s lead. In many of the best kitchens, the daily specials are where the chef’s skill and the region’s produce shine most brightly, often at a better price than the à la carte menu.
Carry cash for small purchases and tips. While most restaurants accept cards, having some euros on hand is useful for market visits, small cafés, and tipping. In France, service is included in the bill, but leaving an additional 5 to 10 percent in cash for genuinely excellent service is appreciated and increasingly common in tourist-heavy areas like Saint-Tropez.
As the sun drops behind the Maures hills and the last tenders return to their yachts, Saint-Tropez settles into a different kind of beauty. The clinking of glasses from hidden terraces, the scent of grilled fish and wild fennel on the evening air, and the soft murmur of conversation in half a dozen languages all remind you why this small fishing village captured the world’s imagination in the first place. The right restaurant, chosen with care and savored without hurry, is your entry point into that older, more intimate Saint-Tropez.
Ultimately, the best meal here is the one that matches your moment. Whether you are celebrating an anniversary with a tasting menu overlooking the bay or sharing a simple plate of courgette flowers in a family-run bistro, the magic lies in the details: the ripeness of a tomato, the chill of a rosé, the generosity of a host who treats you like a regular. Choose wisely, book ahead, and let the table lead you deeper into the rhythms of this extraordinary corner of the French Riviera.
