12 Best Pizza Spots in Honfleur

Normandy might be world-famous for its Camembert, apple orchards, and dramatic coastal history, but Honfleur offers a culinary landscape that stands proudly on its own. Nestled where the Seine meets the English Channel, this picturesque port town has inspired artists for centuries with its narrow cobblestone lanes and slate-fronted houses. Yet, beyond the visual charm lies a vibrant food scene that reflects the maritime heritage and rich agricultural bounty of the Calvados region.

Finding a great meal in Honfleur is rarely difficult, but distinguishing a truly exceptional slice from a standard tourist offering requires local insight. The Vieux Bassin, while breathtakingly beautiful, is often lined with establishments catering to the high turnover of day-trippers. To experience the authentic flavors that locals crave, you sometimes need to wander a few steps away from the water’s edge and explore the side streets where the true artisans of dough and fire operate.

The local pizza culture here is a fascinating blend of French culinary standards and Italian tradition. Unlike the deep-dish styles found elsewhere, the pizzerias of Honfleur tend to favor thin, blistered crusts topped with high-quality Norman dairy and fresh produce. Given the town’s proximity to the sea, you will also find a delightful emphasis on seafood toppings, offering a unique twist that ties the dish directly to the town’s maritime soul.

Whether you are winding down after a day of exploring the Eugène Boudin Museum or looking for a casual yet high-quality dinner before an evening stroll along the beach at Butin, pizza is often the perfect answer. It offers a family-friendly atmosphere, a comforting familiarity, and a canvas for local ingredients that few other dishes can match. The challenge is simply knowing which wood-fired ovens are worth your time and which are merely resting on their laurels.

To help you navigate the cobblestones with confidence, we have curated a list of the most beloved addresses in town. From cozy trattorias tucked away in historic cellars to modern eateries with views of the marina, this guide covers the spectrum of what Honfleur has to offer. Each entry has been selected based on the quality of the dough, the sourcing of ingredients, the consistency of the bake, and the overall atmosphere that makes dining here so special.

Prepare your appetite for a journey through melted mozzarella, tangy tomato bases, and the unmistakable scent of a wood fire drifting through the Norman air. Here is where you should be booking a table when the craving for authentic, high-quality pizza strikes.

Top pizza with high quality ingredients by a chef who knows his stuff. No cider but a fresh bottle of pink wine. Nutella pizza for pudding, naughty but well nice. But posh and spenny in Honfleur, so a result. Good seating outside with a view of the harbour. Bien comme il faut !!

This is a take-away pizza place, so you can't eat in. However, the name says it all. The pizza chef is a very cheerful, happy person who makes excellent pizzas. If you are lucky enough to have an appartment nearby, get your pizza here. You won't regret it.

Nice place to have some non-French cuisine. We had the Aranchi which were really nice, and a pizza nonna as well as a pizza margarita. Both were good, service was good - nothing to really complain about. Recommend this place for a bit, especially if you look for kid friendly food.
Mark Mirigian★★★★☆
Pretty good pizza from a wood fire oven. The white pizza was fantastic, with artichoke and chicken. The tomato sauce on the margherita didn't seem incredibly fresh. Good portion size and value.

Lovely place for a reasonably priced meal in Honfleur. Great friendly service and food was fantastic, pasta and pizza were plentiful! Would definitely recommend for overseas visitors, our waitress spoke English which was appreciated as our French is only so-so!

We chose the restaurant by chance mainly as we didn't want a full blown meal and I really fancied a pizza. When we walked past the whole restaurant to my surprise was empty but looked inviting and well presented. The staff were friendly smiling and welcoming. We sat on the terrace and took a 4 seater for 2 I do like a bit of space, I ordered a Nona pizza without cheese and added onions and mushrooms as I don't eat dairy. My partner ordered the Tagliatelle with pesto and Parma ham. We didn't have to wait long. Both dishes were well cooked but both had issues that doesn't mean we didn't enjoy the experience just that it could have easily achieved 5 stars. The pasta was well cooked and the pesto good quality but the ham had been placed on top in slices ! It's hard to cut the ham on the pasta to distribute it, in an Italian restaurant (yes many years) the ham in pasta is generally found from the unsliceable part of the leg and processed to lardons then cooked and incorporated Italian food is designed to utilise every part to incorporate taste and flavour. The modern twist does not really improve the dish finely shredded and carefully laid on top would enable the client to stir the ham in if the ham is presented naturally. The pizza was tasty but the dough was quite thick for Napoli and rather chewy this would imply the dough was young and had not been given time to mature. It was early so maybe give a bit of slack but even then it was a bit heavy less dough would have been an improvement even but thin pizzas take experience and the young chef needs to practice and be guided by an experienced hand. The toppings were tasty but to be truthful were not given space to cook a great big pile in the centre 4-5 thick produced as always a wet pizza very slightly undercooked in the centre. The peppers and aubergine I estimate were purchased cooked where a few finely sliced veg evenly spread would have caught some heat the onions appeared on the bottom when placed on the top may have also caramelised slightly I could continue but I did actually quite enjoy the pizza just that it needed refining the clue being the fat edge in Italy is to reduce cost and ingredients if your going to be generous even over generous use the whole pizza and prepare fresh vegetables by air drying or just passing momentarily through the oven before storing and use. The service was friendly and chatty just slightly un professional we had our order taken but at no time was there a follow up of "is everything ok" we ordered Cider and it was local and delicious slightly sweet maybe a description or knowledge for advice would have made an option available . Overall we enjoyed our visit my partner stopped me at 3 stars I believe the restaurant is relatively new and of course serving tourists so many options become irrelevant but there's nowhere to hide with reviews everywhere . My advice is sit down Daily discuss the day and service and how in all areas to improve keep on top of it. And please accept any criticism kindly I'm a former owner so often critical and can be ignored if you want 😁🫂

Best pizza in town, their dough is really delicious, prepared right on the spot. We also tasted pasta and it was also good. We have been there twice in a short trip, good vibes and great service. You should try

I've ordered takeaway pizza many times from Amoretto when staying in Honfleur, and thoroughly enjoyed them. Tonight we decided to treat ourselves to dine in. I made the booking in person and was greeted very cordially. When we arrived later another very friendly greeting and warm welcome. I chose the Four Seasons Pizza and my partner the veal escalope. Both were freshly made, well presented and thoroughly delicious. Whilst there was only one zero alcohol beer available Holland IPA 0.0 it was excellent. At just over €25 each for our meal and drinks I thought it was well worth it. Next time we're in Honfleur we'll be back.

Fantastic Pizza and salads. The staff is very warm and welcoming. Our server did an excellent job. Plus she is a person of the highest integrity. She actually chased me down the street to return 10 Euros that I overpaid. She could have easily pocket the money and I wouldn’t have missed it. Incredible! Highly recommended!!!

We decided to visit on our last day in Honfleur and what a way to say goodbye. As soon as you walk in you can smell and see the delicious food being prepared right in front of you. The staff are very friendly and attentive and the atmosphere is lovely. Thoroughly recommend

This is the best place in Honefluer for pizza. Dog friendly and people friendly. I had the Calzone (perhaps the best I’ve had) and my wife had the one with the Barrata cheese center. We were seated inside ( a surprise due to the dog) which was nice as the weather today was a bit chilly. I highly recommend this place you like pizza.

I would like to say something good about this place and the pizza machine, but I was disappointed because I wasn't able to buy the pizza I like because there was only one to choose from among 11 items. A bit weak.

Convenient, simple, and a big plus: the loyalty program. The pizzas are fresh. There's a good selection with 12 different pizzas. In fact, they're better than those at some pizzerias. I recommend it for getting hot pizzas quickly.

6 of use on a biker trip turned up looking for some lunch and wow did we drop onto a gem of a place! We arrived at 2pm so the place was very quiet. The food however is worth shouting about!!! 1st class pasta and pizzas and Maria was an absolute delight!! We will return!!

We had 2 large group dinners here while we were visiting. Night one we had an appetizer course of charcuteries and antipasto, main course of spaghetti bolognese, dessert course of chocolate mousse, and a small serving of lemon cello. All courses were flavorful, right sized portions, and every one in the group cleaned their plates. Night two we had an appetizer of either salmon toast or charcuterie, main dish of veal, and dessert course of tiramisu and a small portion of lemon cello. Again everything was wonderful and every one went home with full bellies. The service was great as we had a group of 50 each night and all the dishes came out in a timely manner. Atmosphere was fine. We were in a large dining room at the back of the restaurant and with 50 people it can get a bit loud in that setting. The house red wine is very good and I highly recommend it.
Arran Chadwick★★★★★
We ordered here as a takeaway and are glad we did. The food was beautiful. We can highly recommend the Penne alla boscaiola and Spaghetti di mezza notte. Both were extremely tasty, great portions and we had plenty for our lunch the next day 🥰 The staff were friendly and seemed very popular with people from different countries looking like they were enjoying their meals. Nice to be able to grab an Aperol Spritz while waiting for food to cook. Would recommend.

Pizzeria from Hell Honfleur is full of tourist trap-like restaurants where you almost sit on each other's laps. After searching for 45 minutes, we finally found a pizzeria with 2 seats on the terrace. So we reported to the waitress inside and asked her if it was okay for us to sit outside. After waiting for 20 minutes, it turned out that the waitress had forgotten about us. We opted for the formula starter, main course and dessert and two glasses of beer. We had to wait another 15 minutes for the beer. The starter came without cutlery and napkin, but because we didn't feel like waiting any longer, we just ate it with our fingers. After the starter was finished, the waitress came to ask us again which pizzas we had ordered. We also asked for cutlery and she admitted that she had forgotten it. While waiting for the pizza, we were attacked by dozens of mosquitoes and we fled inside where a table had become available. There were also a lot of mosquitoes inside. The crust of the two pizzas was burnt and the base was tough. The burnt taste was masked by the cheese and salami. It was the worst pizza I have ever eaten. They could do no wrong with the dessert, but even there the almond flakes were burnt. If you want to eat in Honfleur, you are better off going to the local Lidl supermarket for a baguette, some cheese and a bottle of wine. Chances are you will have eaten better than in one of the many tourist traps.
Florian De Smet★★★★★
Awesome pizzeria we went to a few days ago, the waiters were all friendly and took care of us for every need we could have. The pizze were really tasteful, and the pastas were great as well (didn't try them, my brother did and loved it). I took the Fiorentina, that you can see in the picture, and was a pleasure to eat. I can recommend it without a doubt! It was really nice to stay here and will come again when I'll be around again. On the meantime, hope you can enjoy it as well 🙂

We tested three uncooked pizzas to take away and heat at home, photos included for those who are curious 😉 The Fondue pizza was quite good, but I'm not a fan of oregano in this recipe; it masks the taste of the cheeses and bacon, which I think is a shame. You either like it or you don't, so try it for yourself. We really enjoyed the Goat Cheese and Honey pizza. A few walnuts on top would be a nice addition. Just a suggestion, you'll see it's even better. The Normande is a four-cheese style pizza, and we liked this one too. If you get your pizzas uncooked, be careful with the timing and the oven temperature. At 220°C (425°F), the pizza crust is very crispy. Next time, we'll try a lower temperature for a slightly softer crust. And don't bake them for more than 5 minutes, otherwise, the crust will be too hard. As for the vending machine, it's easy to use, clean, and even offers some reading material while you wait for your pizza. The little wooden knife included in the box is perfect. As a bonus, the loyalty code is great for future orders, and I've never seen that on other vending machines (pizza or even bread). The receipt can be sent directly by email. That's the second bonus: it saves paper, and you're sure not to lose it or leave it lying around in your pocket or glove compartment.

I nearly tore my knee! A lovely opening in their rusty street furniture, a thick wire sticking out, and so... well, you cancel your order, go home and disinfect yourself, ciao bye bye, thanks for the welcome

Very good. Beautiful and very good pizzas. We recommend the Dracula! Excellent, fast service. Small areas for improvement for me (and a small drawback for my girlfriend): - hot sauce upon request - include a drink... with or without alcohol...☺️ - put your logo and contact information on the pizza boxes and encourage people to leave a review. This is the first time I've done this at 46 years old, such a good experience, the excellent value for money, and... it made our evening all over again! We even met people at my box, it was great!

The pizza selection is extensive. The prices are very reasonable, and frankly, I wasn't disappointed by the quality. Very useful when you suddenly get a craving for a good pizza.

Great experience! We were a little hesitant about pizza boxes, but it was a really nice discovery. The pizzas were very good; we had a Dracula and a Fondue. They could have used a little chili oil.

We noticed this cozy place during a walk around town. We instantly knew we wanted dinner there. We were not disappointed. Great selection of food and more importantly it was delicious. Truly authentic Italian cuisine. A restaurant experience is more than just the food; it encompasses the overall atmosphere, service, and social interaction and they did it at Da Mario e Monica.

We noticed this restaurant walking past and decided to try it later at night. Absolutely delighted that we went. Fantastic and authentic Italian food on a quiet side street in Honfluer. As good as any restaurant you would find in Italy. Great service in a nice setting, whether you dine outside or inside. The ingredients were all high quality and a nice selection of wine. We enjoyed it very much.

Recommended by a friend, we tried this trattoria during our stay in Honfleur. Wow! Our two dishes were so delicious : mushroom ravioli and a Gorgonzola ravioli. And, the tiramisu was magnificent. Mario (co-owner and husband to Chef Maria) was very welcoming. A fantastic experience and an absolute must when in Honfleur!

Very cosy restaurant with nice atmosphere that I have visited already a couple of times. Very friendly couple that owns it. Most of the times the food was excellent. Yesterday though I experienced that half of my cannelloni was very hot and the other half was almost cold. It had come out of the microwave. I also had to wait a long time for this main course in comparison to other visitors. Disappointed. They can do better.

Just came across this place while wandering around looking for lunch. Been in France for 17 days and this is the only place I have bothered to review... it was that good. Everything made to order (even the bread for the sandwich), fresh ingredients, great service, tasted amazing. Restaurant quality. 10/10 value for money. Shrimp starter wasn't good, tiny frozen shrimps. The fish was good. Waitress super sympa.
Marcus Judge★★☆☆☆
My daughter begged me to put a 1 star rating, but I always try to find the best in places. The food was very delayed and when the salmon and mussels finally came (after an hour) the fish was almost cremated and the mussels were stringy messy globules. I asked the server about the mussels and she limply pointed towards the kitchen. But absolutely no resolution. The atmosphere being a 3 is because of the location. I’m afraid this place has let down the reputation of food in France. I would avoid if you like food…
Noel Rooney★★★★☆
Great pizza and price was very competitive compared to the other restaurants nearby. Honfluer is an expensive place to eat and drink. It’s a lovely place too. The La Gabriella was delicious. Atmosphere is only 3 as we were not allowed to take our dog inside nd the street side seating wasn’t very attractive due to a road barrier next to us.
Sofia★☆☆☆☆
I’ve never walked out of a restaurant before even placing an order, but this time we had no other choice. The lady who greeted and served us was sarcastic, rude, and borderline insulting. Instead of feeling welcome, we felt belittled by the way she spoke to us. With such unprofessional behavior, the food no longer mattered, and we decided to leave immediately. Customer service reflects the standards of a business, and unfortunately, in this case, it was completely unacceptable. We will not be returning and would not recommend this place.
Sunshine Master★☆☆☆☆
Boss absolutely impolite and agressive. Not allowed to share food for a snack at 4pm (restaurant is barely 20% occupied). From the first second we felt unwanted.

We had a wonderful experience at Les Haubans! The location right on the water is fantastic, offering a perfect setting to relax. We were highly impressed by the happy hour deals—getting a full pint of beer for just seven euros was an incredible find for this area, and my wife absolutely loved her Aperol Spritz. On top of the great drinks, the service was excellent and very welcoming. Highly recommend!
Steli S★★☆☆☆
The pizza was pretty underwhelming, comparable to an undercooked frozen pizza. There wasn’t much that could have saved it, but it didn’t help that the only oils or hot sauces available came in sachets. We also waited an hour for the food, which made the experience even more disappointing. On the plus side, the service was good and the view over the marina was lovely.
Ingrida Zaltauskaite★☆☆☆☆
Very bad experience. Mulles was cold, steak was not medium rare. The only thing this restaurant is still in business- the place. Staff extremely unhelpful.

Update: got food poisoning from the burger. Like how in the world do you mess up to cook a freaking burger? Don’t go here, and I repeat don’t go here. The meat is pre-cooked and not tasty at all, frozen pizza better than here. Service is very mediocre and the manager/owner doesn’t even deserve any words to describe him.

The items were expensive for what they were worth. The cheese burger had a very dry paty with weird chunks of meat inside. The fries were cold and had little to no seasoning. The bolognese was cold but tasted fine not worth 16€. The servers were nice and the food came quickly. The table was sticky and the chairs were dirty. Overall I would recommend choosing another restaurant even if the location isn't the best.

My friends and I went to this restaurant in Honfleur, France during a music trip for our free time. We were seated right away, and the server took great care of us, checking in with us every so often. We had to wait 15 mins to order our food bc ordering the food wasn’t an option yet, but when it came out, it was delicious. I ordered a pollock (fish) dish bc honfleur was on the seaside, and I wanted to get a dish that was seafood, and it was very flavourful. The fish was slightly overcooked, tasting a bit dry, but overall it tasted great. For desert, I ordered a simple sugar crêpe — a French classic. The atomosphere was cozy, and warm through the simple patio layout with the small town surrounding the area. Meanwhile, the inside was similar, except with wooden objects, giving a vibe of naturalism. Overall, I would recommend this quick stop in the heart of Honfleur.

Stopped by because every restaurant was only opening at 7 pm. But this didn't disappoint. We had mussels and salmon both was good. Jack served us and he was amazing! Thanks for our final dinner in France!!

We were a large group that kept growing, and they accommodated us with excellent service and delicious food. I highly recommend the baked camembert with prosciutto.

A lovely restaurant on the coast of France. We were visiting on a whirlwind trip with our daughter, so we only had a few hours in Honfleur. This restaurant made the stop worth it. They were very accommodating for our allergies. Also, the fish and chips were delightful with a thin crispy batter. So tasty.

Tips for Choosing the Perfect Pizza in Honfleur

Navigating the dining scene in a popular tourist destination like Honfleur requires a bit of strategy, especially when you are looking for a meal that satisfies both hunger and culinary curiosity. While the town is compact, the variance in quality between a mass-produced pie and a hand-crafted artisan pizza can be significant. Knowing how to identify the hallmarks of a great pizzeria, understanding the local dining customs, and timing your visit correctly can elevate your experience from a simple meal to a highlight of your trip. Keep these practical considerations in mind to ensure you get the best value and taste during your stay.

  1. Look for Wood-Fired Ovens: The soul of a great pizza lies in its crust. Seek out restaurants that proudly advertise a four à bois (wood-fired oven). These ovens reach the high temperatures necessary to create the leopard-spotted charring and airy cornicione that define a true artisan pie.
  2. Embrace the Norman Seafood Twists: While purists might stick to Margherita, Honfleur is a fishing port. Do not be afraid to order a pizza featuring local moules (mussels), crevettes (shrimp), or smoked salmon. It is the best way to taste the region through an Italian lens.
  3. Book Ahead During High Season: Honfleur is one of Normandy’s most visited towns, especially in July and August. The best spots with limited seating fill up quickly. Calling ahead or booking a table for dinner is highly recommended to avoid a long wait or disappointment.
  4. Check the Cheese Source: Normandy is dairy country. The best pizzerias will use high-quality mozzarella (often fior di latte) but may also offer pies featuring local cheeses like Camembert or Livarot. This substitution elevates the dish and connects you to the local terroir.
  5. Venture Beyond the Vieux Bassin: While dining with a view of the harbor is undeniably romantic, prices around the basin often include a premium for the location. For better value and often better food, explore the streets just behind the main square, such as Rue Haute or the Sainte-Catherine district.

The beauty of Honfleur lies in its ability to blend the old with the new, the local with the international. Sitting down to a perfectly baked pizza in this historic maritime setting is a reminder that comfort food can also be a vehicle for regional identity. Whether you choose a table spilling out onto a cobblestone alley or a modern dining room near the Lieutenance, the combination of French hospitality and Italian culinary craft is hard to beat.

As the sun sets over the slate roofs and the boats bob gently in the harbor, there are few better ways to end a day of exploration than with a shared meal. The pizzerias on this list represent the very best of what Honfleur has to offer, ensuring that every bite is filled with the same charm and character as the town itself. Bon appétit.
