12 Best Pharmacies in Lille

Finding the right pharmacy in Lille is about more than just filling a prescription. Whether you are a resident navigating the bustling streets of the capital of Flanders, a student studying at one of the local universities, or a traveler caught off guard by a sudden cold, access to reliable healthcare advice is essential. The best pharmacies in this vibrant French city combine medical expertise with genuine hospitality, ensuring you leave not only with the right medication but with peace of mind.

The landscape of pharmacies in Lille is diverse. You will find everything from modern, clinical spaces offering specialized services to traditional neighborhood officines where the pharmacist knows every customer by name. Because the city is highly walkable and well-connected by the metro and tram, you are rarely far from a qualified professional who can assist with both minor ailments and complex medication management.

However, the sheer number of options can make choosing the right one a challenge. While almost all pharmacies in France adhere to strict regulatory standards, the level of personalized service, the range of parapharmacy products, and the linguistic capabilities of the staff can vary significantly. If you are an English speaker or an expat, finding a pharmacy that can communicate clearly in your language is often a top priority.

This guide focuses on establishments that excel in customer care, location convenience, and specialized services. We have considered factors such as opening hours, the availability of on-site testing, and the ability to handle pediatric or homeopathic requests. The goal is to provide you with a curated list that serves your needs, whether you are seeking emergency contraception, a flu shot, or simply high-quality skincare.

Below, you will find a selection of the 12 best pharmacies in Lille. These recommendations are based on reputation, service quality, and accessibility, ensuring you can find trusted care no matter which neighborhood you find yourself in. Following the list, we will also share practical advice on how to navigate the French pharmacy system effectively.

This pharmacy is fantastic in every way. A huge selection of every product you could possibly need at a pharmacy is available and any medication you don’t find can be ordered in for the next day. Guillaume provided excellent customer service during our three visits to this pharmacy in the space of a week.

Huge pharmacy with comprehensive selection on baby products. Price is reasonable and we can enjoy tax refund if you come from the UK. The queue is sometime quite long, and may take up to 15 mins waiting time.

Do not come here if you’re an international. I came to this place seeking for a medicine and spoke English to the cashier guy named DAVID. He immediately chatted and laughed to his colleague next to him, which was very unpleasant to hear because I could feel he was laughing to me. If only my boyfriend wasn’t sick and needs the medicine as soon as possible, I’d have a talk with him. If someone cannot speak your language, it doesn’t mean we don’t understand - it’s 2025 man, people is smart and educated enough to respect each other (especially a CUSTOMER) 😉 Don’t be like David (and his friend). To David: I speak 5 languages and French isn’t my priority. Merci.

I think if you are looking for good quality beauty products then you have to visit this place however the personels are just too selective of the type of persons they attend to, I think they purposefully talk a long time to person of their skin color just because they don’t want to be the one to attend to you…. Anyway just my personal opinion based on what I have noticed.

I came to check for Covid-19, which is announced to be tested in 15 minutes in big letters up front, I was told an appointement on line was necessary. When I asked them to check if someone was foreseen in the next schedules, they told me coldly they were not there to debate. Unfriendly when they can't earn anything and so French stupid during this pandemic.

after I fell on the pavement near the pharmacies and hurt my knie, Claire from the pharmacy was extremely helpful to sanitise my wound and pur a plaster on it. Such an efficient pharmacist with great people skills. I can recommend this pharmacy and would visit again, if I ever in the Wazemme area again. Thank you Claire, my wound stopped hurting immediately after leaving the pharmacy. With the kindest regards Eva, it happened on the 1st September 2026. Maybe a note to the cvity council, your pavements are extremely dangerous.

Disappointed that my husband and I have been treated like fools, we called this morning for eclipse glasses. We were told a delivery was coming, we called five times to track the glasses' arrival, and we were told they would arrive that day or tomorrow. My husband, who is of Algerian origin, went to the store and asked if the glasses had arrived. He was told tomorrow morning, so he came home. I called again early this afternoon, and now we're being told it's impossible to reserve even one pair of glasses and that they'll post on Instagram that they're expecting 300 pairs. Except I don't have Instagram. I set it up, and 15 minutes later I saw the post. I sent my husband to check it out, and then nothing. I must be dreaming! I called again, and someone told me that someone had even ordered 150 pairs! I must be dreaming! They're not rationing them per person, and she told me that even the staff can't set any aside for themselves. So when are they going to stop treating us like fools? I find it shameful to have been given the runaround. Since this morning, my husband has been getting all sorts of nonsense, so I hope it's not related to his background. We're disappointed and we definitely won't be back. And they tell us maybe we'll get some tomorrow, but the eclipse will have already started. Sure, but honestly, do you even listen to what you're saying?! If I could give zero stars
Véronique Richard★☆☆☆☆
I'm quite disappointed with the service and advice. The pleasant and excellent sales assistants in the pharmacy section have left. You buy expensive creams and no samples are offered (supposedly the suppliers no longer provide them??). Yet, this seems essential to me for evaluating and choosing future skincare products. I will compare the professionalism and helpfulness in other pharmacies and parapharmacy stores. Sincerely,

The pharmacists are very kind, the whole team is caring and remembers its regulars, they don't work as fast as a factory and the premises are very easily wheelchair accessible, with no advertising products blocking access, and many sizes and models are available for rent, especially if you are quite small!

What can I say? I switched pharmacies to this one. I'm so happy with the change. The team is fantastic, with a very human touch, which is increasingly rare. They're not just salespeople like some others; they always give good advice and are very professional. Yes, like everywhere else, there can be shortages of medication, but you should complain to your dear president, who, at the same time—and I'll be polite—is fed up. 🙏 Anyway, we're lucky, despite the mess in the country, to have this level of care and to respect the medical staff as a whole. We'll all end up in the same place no matter what, so take care of those who take the time for us, to avoid a premature departure. 😩🙏☺️🇫🇷🇫🇷

He's a worthy successor, as his son is the one who ran the pharmacy, and in all the years I've been going there, I haven't had any major problems with the entire team, except, of course, for the occasional paperwork issue! I highly recommend this place; both the service and the appearance are impeccable! Absolutely perfect...😉

A huge thank you to this pharmacist who helped me find an alternative antibiotic to replace the one that was out of stock (like so many others...). I am extremely disappointed with the way my daughter and I were treated at the Parvis Saint-Michel pharmacy yesterday. My 3-year-old daughter was stung on the ear by a bee, and we went to the pharmacy for advice and treatment. Unfortunately, the pharmacist told us she couldn't do anything for us and sent us to a doctor at the clinic without even offering temporary relief for my daughter's pain. According to her, the sting was too close to her airway! I find this unacceptable, especially for a situation that requires prompt and effective attention. Pharmacies are supposed to be places of first aid for minor health problems, and it is their responsibility to provide appropriate care and advice. I am disappointed with the quality of service and the pharmacist's attitude. I believe the pharmacy should review its policy for handling minor emergencies and train its staff to provide quality care and advice to patients. I'm sorry to have to share this negative experience, but I hope it can help improve things for future patients.

Now you have to pay 10 cents for a bag! Especially since, following surgery, I was prescribed a non-reimbursed healing cream. The price in this pharmacy was 14 euros, while downtown it sells for less than 7 euros. Talk about markups! I'm switching pharmacies...

This modern pharmacy exceeded all my expectations thanks to its many qualities, from its use of technology and friendly, knowledgeable staff to its wide range of products. Their expertise in the pharmaceutical field was undeniable, and they were always ready to provide sound and personalized advice. This pharmacy is truly at the forefront of technology. I was impressed by the technological advancements implemented to enhance the customer experience. Furthermore, this pharmacy offers a wide range of high-quality products, meeting all health and wellness needs. In short, this pharmacy truly embodies excellence.

My fiancé and I paid €50 for rapid tests. When we asked if there were self tests, they advised that there were not and that there was a general shortage (which turned out to be untrue). We advised them that we only had a Swiss number to receive the results on. They said it was fine and did not request an e-mail or further details. We unfortunately were required to have a test result and consequently had to pay for an additional test when we did not receive results. This is despite being told we could expect a response in 15 mins. We returned the following day to ask why we had not received what we had paid for, the staff refused any responsibility and instead blamed the system for not sending the message and only then advised that a Swiss number would not work. I am appalled at the lack of professionalism. It was the staffs responsibility to take down the correct details which would allow the system to send us out results. They were unwilling to refund us the cost of the test or even apologize. There is no e-mail or steps to follow to escalate and I would not return to this pharmacy even if you paid me to. Beyond disgusted. A negative star would be more appropriate. Shocked that they’re still in business.

The owner is efficient and knows her job very well. It's rare to find a pharmacy that keeps the doctor on hand so often to advise and check things out when needed. It's a shame that some reviews reflect outdated prejudices: the fact that some young employees wear headscarves in no way detracts from their professionalism or the quality of care. Individual freedom is respected, and the service is impeccable. Go there without hesitation.
Vanessa Bachiri★☆☆☆☆
Honestly, there's only one person (the manager, I think) who's completely unprofessional! At what point do you tell someone, "You should stop this medication, plus you wear a headscarf and you're religious"? Seriously, as if that's some kind of armor! That was for me, and now my daughter comes in today and tells her, "You should stop this medication!" I knew you were a doctor! Who do you think you are, with two fingers to your fingers, to contact management to report this contemptuous behavior?
Sophie Mmn★☆☆☆☆
AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Dishonest and unpleasant! You're supposed to advise your clients and provide them with information about their medications, but that's absolutely not the case! A contemptuous tone and ordering generics without even suggesting them! It's a disgrace! Ill-gotten gains never prosper… a word to the wise!

Tips for Choosing and Using a Pharmacy in Lille

Navigating a foreign healthcare system can be daunting, but understanding a few key aspects of how French pharmacies operate will make your experience much smoother. The relationship between a pharmacist and a client in France is often more involved than in other countries; they are your first line of defense for medical advice. By knowing what to expect and how to prepare, you can ensure you receive the best possible care without unnecessary stress or expense.

1. Look for the Green Cross and Check the Hours
In France, pharmacies are identified by a distinct green cross, often flashing or illuminated if the pharmacy is open. Standard opening hours are typically Monday to Saturday from 9:00 AM to 7:30 PM, but many in central Lille close for a lunch break. If you need medication during the night, on Sunday, or on a public holiday, you must visit the "pharmacie de garde" (on-duty pharmacy). You can find the nearest on-duty pharmacy by checking the door of any closed pharmacy, visiting the local police station, or using the official "Mon Pharmacien" app.

2. Understand the "Tiers Payant" and the Carte Vitale
If you are a resident of France, always carry your Carte Vitale (the green health insurance card). When you present this card at the pharmacy along with your prescription, the pharmacy will usually process the transaction electronically using "tiers payant." This means you often do not have to pay upfront for prescription medication covered by the French social security system; the pharmacy is reimbursed directly. If you have a "mutuelle" (supplementary private insurance), ensure your pharmacy has the details on file to cover the remaining co-pay.

3. Don’t Hesitate to Ask for Generic Medications
France has one of the highest rates of generic drug usage in Europe, and pharmacists are legally obligated to offer you a generic substitute unless the doctor has specifically marked the prescription as "non substituable." Generic medications contain the exact same active ingredients and are strictly regulated. Opting for generics is a smart way to save money, as the social security system reimburses them at the same rate as brand names, often eliminating any out-of-pocket cost for you.

4. Consult the Pharmacist for Minor Ailments
You do not always need to see a doctor for minor issues like a sore throat, a mild skin rash, or seasonal allergies. French pharmacists are highly trained medical professionals who can diagnose minor ailments and dispense over-the-counter medications or "conseil" (advice). Rather than spending hours in a waiting room, head to your local pharmacy first. They will tell you if you can treat the issue at home or if you need to escalate the situation to a general practitioner.

5. Keep an Eye Out for Parapharmacy Products
French pharmacies are famous for their "parapharmacie" sections, which offer high-quality dermo-cosmetic brands like La Roche-Posay, Avène, and Bioderma. These products are often cheaper than in department stores and come with the assurance that they have been vetted by a medical professional. If you are looking for specific skincare for conditions like eczema or acne, the pharmacist can guide you toward the right product line, making the pharmacy a one-stop shop for health and beauty needs.

Choosing the right pharmacy in Lille is an integral part of establishing a comfortable life or a pleasant visit to the city. The professionals listed above have demonstrated a commitment to excellence, whether through their prime locations, extended services, or multilingual staff. By building a relationship with a trusted local pharmacist, you gain a valuable ally in managing your health and well-being.

Ultimately, the best pharmacy for you will depend on your specific location and personal needs. We recommend saving the contact information for a pharmacy near your home or hotel, as well as familiarizing yourself with the process for finding the "pharmacie de garde" for emergencies. With this knowledge, you can navigate the healthcare landscape of Lille with confidence and ease.
