As the Mediterranean sun dips below the horizon and the golden stone of the old town begins to glow under the streetlights, Valencia undergoes a remarkable transformation. The city’s vibrant energy shifts from sun-drenched terraces and sprawling parks to an eclectic and electric nocturnal scene. Whether you are a local looking to rediscover your city or a traveler eager to experience authentic Spanish nightlife, the capital of the Turia offers an incredibly diverse range of after-dark experiences.
Valencia is a city of contrasts, and its nightlife reflects this beautifully. You can start your evening sipping a crafted cocktail in a historic plaza that has witnessed centuries of history, then dance until sunrise in a futuristic club by the marina. Unlike the sprawling, chaotic mega-clubs of Madrid or the beach-focused parties of Ibiza, Valencia offers a more accessible, intimate, and varied landscape for the night owl.
The city is broadly divided into distinct nightlife zones, each with its own unique personality and crowd. The historic center, El Carmen, is a labyrinth of narrow streets filled with bohemian tapas bars, underground jazz clubs, and quirky alternative pubs. Meanwhile, the trendy neighborhood of Ruzafa has exploded in popularity, offering a hipster vibe with vintage wine bars, international eateries, and buzzing sidewalk terraces that spill into the streets.
For those seeking a more glamorous and polished evening, the area around the City of Arts and Sciences and the Paseo Marítimo provides a sleek, modern backdrop. Here, you will find upscale lounges and world-class nightclubs where the dress code is sharp and the champagne flows. However, the true heart of Valencia’s social scene often lies in its plazas, where the simple act of "ir de terraceo" (going for a drink on a terrace) is a sacred social ritual.
The local culture is famously nocturnal, with dinner often starting at 10 PM and bars not filling up until well past midnight. To enjoy the night like a true Valencian, pacing is key. The evening usually begins with a light drink and some "patatas bravas" around 9 PM, followed by a proper dinner, then a slow migration toward the bars, and finally, if you have the stamina, the clubs around 2 AM.
Navigating this timeline can be daunting for first-time visitors, which is why curating a list of the best spots is essential. From historic hideaways to modern musical institutions, this guide will help you cut through the noise and find the perfect venue to match your mood. Prepare to discover where the locals go to argue about football, where the artists go to find inspiration, and where the dancers go to lose themselves in the rhythm.
Here are the definitive destinations that define Valencia after dark.

My friend and I came here on our first night at Valencia; no past experience and no idea what to expect . Firstly , we called them before leaving and spoke to a kind gentleman on the phone , who advised us the busiest times and was really helpful . when we arrived , the atmosphere was lively and welcoming, and we found it very easy to socialise and connect with others . Bar staff were friendly and polite too. Would absolutely recommend to all who are after a fun night in Valencia !

At first glance it looks great. They're professional while making the drinks and the music is diverse. However, they keep letting more and more people in. After paying a € 32 entry fee, (which does include one free drink), you need to wait in line at the 2(!) different parts on the bottom part, unless you arrive relatively early. This also means that if you leave to go to the toilet, you need to wait to join your own group again. I understand they want to let more people in, but this totally ruins the experience inside.
At the top it's better, but after leaving the sweat fest downstairs, you just want to leave as soon as possible. Adding the fact a single beer is € 8, you'd be better off going to a different place.

For sure more than a 1,000 people at this event which spanned two floors. Plenty of VIP and non-VIP sitting areas and bars. The food options were somewhat limited, and could easily be improved. Good wipe and atmosphere.

The place is very crowded, specially downstairs. I like dancing and I can’t because people are packed. Upstairs you still have more space but faraway from music. Simple drinks not even cocktails, it is just mix of alcohol and buzz will cost you like que decent cocktail. For me this place lost its flavor completely. Pockerfaces from personal who treat you like garbage, no smile no “hi”.

Drinks only..Try to get a VIP entry which starts from 200euros in which u get a small table to sit and a bottle of any drinks...whiskey ..gin..vodka ...but its worth as on weekends this place become so crowded that u wnt get a place even to put ur drinks also..Nice place to hangout with friends.opens at 12 in the night.

Super honest reaction : positive first: everyone recomennds this place and true it is spectacular architecture to see , seems like an amazing idea at firsts. 2 floors Mya (downstairs) and L'Umbracle Terazza (upstairs) an indoor club and an outdoorsy vibes , you can also get a breath of fresh air out of the crowd. They take security seriously- have PHYSICAL ID on you they check everyone. We arrived around 2 am the line was pretty much gone by that time so entry was fast. Payed 32€ per person for entry on the spot and got 1 drink included. Prices are not surprising 28€ a Vodka-apple and a Gin Tonic , 7€ a Coke and a Water , drink are made fast and professional. Service is kind.
BUT : it's way too overcrowded - you get squeezed and pushed around stepped on and spilled on , no matter what you do. In Mya the 2 rooms were a techno type music with good beats and bass the other had Latino and Afro type song but quickly got changed to commercial. Upstairs was a joke compared to this - there was so quiet music the crowd was singing louder that the music ( idk what the 2 DJs were doing ) maybe its rules to avoid noise complaint in the city) Overall it was not worth it as a party, not for the money and not for the fame. Hope they can learn and improve it the future this place has huge potential , but too many bad reviews and experiences.

The biggest disappointment in Valencia so far 🍸 I’d seen this bar mentioned several times in top-rated lists, and its overall rating is quite high, so my expectations were much higher. In fact, I visited twice because after the first visit I thought maybe it was just an off day or a matter of a particular bartender. Unfortunately, the second experience was even worse and confirmed my initial impression.
The cocktails were well below average — the kind of drinks you could get in a random café that doesn’t even specialize in cocktails. The service was also quite strange. They don’t serve water alongside the drinks, which is something I’d expect from any respectable cocktail bar. On top of that, when a waiter asked whether we liked everything, he walked away before even listening to our answer, despite us being ready to give honest feedback about the cocktails.
Overall, a very underwhelming experience that didn’t live up to either its reputation or its ratings.
Amilcar Fuentes★★★★★
An absolute gem in Valencia! The atmosphere is beautiful, the cocktails are creative and perfectly crafted, but what truly made our night was the exceptional service. Everyone on the team was warm, attentive, and genuinely passionate about making sure we had a great experience.
We also had the pleasure of spending quite some time talking with Daniel, the owner, whose passion, hospitality, and genuine care for every guest truly set the tone for the entire experience. It’s easy to see why this place has become so special.
It’s rare to find hospitality at this level. We left feeling more like guests than customers. We will definitely be back and will happily recommend The Jungle to anyone looking for an unforgettable cocktail experience. Thank you for such a wonderful evening! The Jungle deserves every one of its outstanding reviews.

A perfect spontaneous find for a chill cocktail! We immediately got a spot and a lovely table outside. We ordered a Magic Mushroom and a Pisco Sour, and the waiter was super friendly and even customized the pisco sour with passion fruit for us (we def went for the second round there!). The service was attentive throughout and made us feel very welcome. I also had a look inside, and the place looks really fun and cozy. Will def come back and check out the inside properly next time! 🍸✨

We visited for the day to enjoy the swimming pool, and it was a great experience. We arrived at 11:00 AM, and there was no long queue, so we got in quickly.
The staff were friendly, polite, and professional. The service was excellent, and we were treated with care and respect. Everything was clean, well-maintained, and organized. The food was also very good.
We had reserved our sunbeds by the pool in advance, and the booking process through the website was smooth and easy. The website is clear, user-friendly, and well organized.
Overall, it offers great value for money, and we would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Valencia!
Sarah Fitzgerald★★☆☆☆
I write this review with the genuine hope that management reads it and makes some slight adjustments- and to give a quick rundown for anyone else deciding whether or not to book a day pass or just get a chair at the beach.
TLDR: music is CRAZY LOUD all day, DJ starts around 3:00pm and the music somehow gets even louder to the point that we had to put earplugs in. The bathroom is disgusting & the sun chairs by the pool don’t actually get any sun until 1pm and they make you leave by 4:30. The cost isn’t too bad, the food is good and the views are fantastic. Overall, the beach chairs on the actual beach are the better option for the day if you want to actually relax.
What was great:
- the food was delicious, we got some chicken burgers, fries and a salad
- the cocktails were strong and a great size for the money
- the price for entry is only about 25 dollars a person which is pretty affordable for a beach club
What was bad:
- every single page on the website says the DJ starts playing music at 5pm, we specifically checked because the day before the music from the DJ was VERY loud and we wanted to avoid that. The DJ set up and started BLASTING music at 3:30ish. I cannot stress enough how loud the music is. It feels like being at the front row of a concert, you can feel the bass in your chest. You can even hear the DJ halfway down the beach itself.
- When the DJ started playing music, the workers started clearing up the chairs and at 4:30 they were basically telling people they needed to vacate their chairs by the pool. In theory, we should have had the chairs until around 5pm (we paid for the chairs for the day) but felt very rushed to leave and clear the area around 4pm
- the bathrooms were DISGUSTING. There was an inch of water on the floor, half the doors did not have locks or were broken, one stall was covered in vomit. It was worse than the public bathroom on the beach.
- the lady at the front desk was very unhelpful and rude. I didn’t have a bad interaction when I walked in, but my wife did and literally every single person sitting around us at the pool was talking about how rude she had been to them. Everyone was wary of talking to her or god forbid asking to switch chairs or something.
- the pool chairs don’t get sun until 1pm. This isn’t a huge deal, but we only got to sit in the sun for about 3 hours until they started cleaning up the chairs and encouraging people to leave.
Zoe★☆☆☆☆
Overpriced for what it is, they blast the music like crazy the entire time, I had to wear my earplugs because it was so glaringly loud, I asked 3 staff members to turn the music down and nothing (during the middle of the day). The service was also horrible. Super slow and they forgot many things. We had a good time here because of the people we were with but everything else was entirely forgettable and annoying.
linda vdberg★★☆☆☆
Not my cup of tea. Overpriced in my opninon. The beds were okay. The view was great but te service could be much better. We were with a party of three and had made reservations beforehand. The lady who guided us could not find 3 beds together so she asked us to lie seperated feom eachother. Of course we did not agree to that. Service took very long. Afterwards we noticed they had overcharged us by 40 euro. I emailed, hope I will get my money back. Price / quality for me at the moment: not worth it.
Laurel Gendler★☆☆☆☆
Very disappointing experience.
I’ve visited Marina Beach Club several times over the years and have always enjoyed it, which makes this review even more frustrating to write.
We accidentally booked for the wrong day and, while I understand that was our mistake, there was absolutely no attempt from staff to help us find a solution. We lost the value of our original booking and ended up paying again to visit the following day, without even transferring the 30 euro redeemable fee to the new booking.
When we arrived on Sunday, we were shown to a sun lounger by a member of staff. After unpacking all our belongings and getting settled, a host came over and aggressively asked why we were sitting there, despite the fact that we had been seated there by her colleague. Instead of apologising for the confusion, she was rude and dismissive, and we had to move all our things.
Later, when I lost my phone, staff were completely unhelpful and unwilling to assist us in looking for it. Cleaning staff actually shouted when I looked behind a sofa.
The venue itself is beautiful, but the attitude of the hosting staff completely ruined the experience. We spent a significant amount of money and were treated as though we were an inconvenience rather than paying guests.
Sadly, after this experience, I’ll think twice before returning.

Very bad experience, do not recommend at all. No menu at the bar, no red wine when asked for ANY red wine, the sound system is terrible - all this for the fancy €18 entry fee, ridiculous.

Our first time to try a “silent” disco.🪩 You will be provided a pair of headsets which was 3 settings: to change music along with the light. Just leave an identification card and you get to borrow one.
You can also get in by registering at the website in advance and there are themes to dress up. It was prom night when we went. Props to the security for allowing me to leave my collector’s item beer bottles that I had with my bag. I was able to take it upon leaving 🙂

This is not a queer club by any means, and not fully queer-friendly either. I went out with my American friends and the service given to them by a male bartender was a lot better compared to me, someone who’s Latino and fluent in Spanish. I observed several times people powdering their nose in the bathroom too.

Good rooftop bar in Valencia. We went on a Tuesday afternoon and it was not too busy. It was €10 pp entrance fee (no concessions for students or children). We were greeted warmly and allocated a table immediately.
Food menu was restricted to bar and lunch menu. Drinks were reasonably priced. DJ started around 7pm. Great atmosphere.
MFG★★★★★
On arrival we were warmly welcomed by the staff, there was a €14 entry fee per person which we thought was fair.
We arrival at 6:45pm on a Friday which was a good time as it wasn’t overcrowded and we were seated straight away. However, the service was slow at first as they were setting up for dinner service.
Great views and atmosphere for couples and groups, prices were as expected for location. We ordered the chicken gyozas and the Iberian ham which was first class.
We left around 20:45 and there was a long queue at the entrance so recommend getting there before peak times for sunset.

The best rooftop in Valencia!
Even without a reservation, the lovely staff found us a table within minutes for my birthday. Everyone was so kind and welcoming.
The sushi was amazing, the atmosphere was unforgettable, and a special thanks to Smith for taking such great care of us. The security team was also very professional, making us feel safe throughout the evening. Music was fantastic as well.
Highly recommended!

This was on our list when visiting valencia and it did not disappoint! The entrance fee is 12€ per person, but it is definitely worth it. You can stay for a few drinks, or even dinner. We arrived around 5pm and there was no queue, but once we were leaving, around 7pm, the queue was huge so count with waiting. Reservation for small groups is not mandatory, but if you want to visit in the evening hours, definitely recommend to reserve. The DJs were top tier, the atmosphere was 10/10, drinks were nice.

This is a sophisticated rooftop location in the heart of Valencia with the best views of the city. The atmosphere is upscale with great food presentations and good service. They have a good variety of wines and cocktails, and of course the typical sangria and agua de Valencia. Overall this is a must place to visit in Valencia due to the unique combination of quality, service and the stunning views it offers. Definitely worth it.

Good little central pub, staff are super friendly and helpful however the pub site in a bit of a sun block spot and usually it's been quite fresh, cold and shaded (we visited in Feb) so obviously not during season etc.
Beer is good, a decent selection but a bit pricier than other relocations and every time we've visited it's been quiet and remains the case for alot if the day so nothing special atmosphere wise it does however play music over the TV screens which is a positive in comparison to other bars that play sports only or nothing at all. The bar does try to create an at sphere but could do a little better in this area.
Tables and lots of space inside, an upper floor with plenty of tables and space with outside seating too on the street. Usually shaded during my time here and can be a little cold during off peak.
We enjoy this bar and visiting on multiple occasions and would recommend.

We visited the bar with a group of four friends on Friday around midnight. The outdoor area was quite crowded, but a waiter approached us and asked us to wait a moment, assuring us he would try to arrange a table. That “moment” turned into more than five minutes, and we started to think we had been forgotten, but eventually a spot was found.
We ordered a glass of Agua de Valencia each and relaxed for a while. At some point, one of our friends got hungry and asked the waiter if he could still order something to eat. He was told that the kitchen was already closed and nothing from the menu was available, but nachos could be brought out. The waiter walked away. After a short moment of consideration, our friend decided to order the nachos and asked another waiter. This waiter simply replied that the kitchen was closed and walked away midway through my friend’s sentence.
A moment later, he returned and handed bills to everyone sitting outside. The staff then began folding tables and chairs, effectively pushing people to either move inside or leave, not allowing us to finish our drinks in peace. It was around 00:50, which felt strange considering Google states the bar is open until 2:00 AM on Fridays.
The bar itself is in a great location and serves delicious Agua de Valencia, but the staff’s attitude toward customers leaves much to be desired.
Valerij Mitejko★☆☆☆☆
Very disappointing experience. I was dining alone and there were no available tables for one person. However, there was an empty table for four people, and I was refused service simply because I was alone.
I understand that restaurants need to manage their seating, but refusing a customer when there is an available table feels disrespectful and completely unnecessary. Being alone should not mean being treated as less important than other customers.
I will not be returning and cannot recommend this place.

While roaming the streets of Valencia, I was was met by a lovely woman Nara who welcomed me for a cocktail that I couldn’t deny. If 0/5 is possible that’s what I would give.
We ordered gin and tonics and immediately noticed the half shots. (Not measured) but very under poured especially considering it’s €11 which is on the higher end for spain prices. When we politely told the bar tender, we expected a conversation. Instead, the bartender became defensive and argumentative. Rather than addressing the issue professionally, he repeatedly insisted he knew what he was doing and started to mock us while preparing drinks for other customers. He began over pouring for the next few customers and making immature faces at us. The interaction was very unprofessional and completely unnecessary.
The problem wasn’t just the drink itself. it was the way a concern was handled. A good bartender can fix a mistake. A great bartender can turn a complaint into a positive experience. Unfortunately, neither happened here.
Between the disappointing drinks, the confrontational response, and the overall atmosphere that followed, our night was soured. For €11 a drink, we expected far better service and professionalism. Do not recommend at all. Will never be back. Photo is of the bar tender that treated us with such disrespect. I hope managements solves this issue.

The absolute worst irish bar I've ever been to. Felt like the staff had had a major row before we arrived and none of them were talking to each other. One black haired girl, Dublin accent, rocked behind the bar, not to help out, only to serve herself and top up her friends vodka. Should I have ordered sangria in an Irish bar? Probably not, but if I'd have ordered ribena I reckon it'd have been stronger. Also the total waste of beer was shocking - please teach your staff how to pull a pint! 🤦🏼♀️

An "Irish pub" that pours the worst pint of Guinness ever poured!
A young woman served me and the barrel ran out half way through pouring my pint.
Once it was changed she carried on filling my glass with FROTH. The pint glass was half guinness and half froth, and she handed it to me and walked away.
I pointed it out to a man behind the bar who promptly accepted that it was very bad, he told the girl how to pour a guinness and poured another for me. Although this pint looked fine it didnt taste very good.
My wife ordered a bottled drink and the
young woman gave her a bottle and no glass. We had to ask for a glass!
The pub itself isnt that bad, the music was OK and was lively. But I won't be going back during the rest of my holidays here.

Came first time to explore a new place. Dj Carlos and program manager of the club was very welcoming to us. The club has two floors with really good club vibe environment and offering both non mainstream and a bit more mainstream music with high quality professional djs.
We ordered a glass of vodka and gin at the fair price of clubs. The bartenders were very kind with the amount of alcohol they put, one drink felt like two.
Felt like a low key hidden gem of the city with a real club vibe. Recommend you to go if you want to feel the real spanish party experience.

Worst disco in Valencia:
-Strict and very annoying staff
-Bad quality cocktails
-Very poor quality of the music and horrible sound
The smoking area does not exist and they pressure you to be quiet and smoke fast.
Ah and it is also expensive

Cool venue. Nice relaxing vibe. Good band playing funk on the night I visited. Was 5 euro entry with a beer. Quiet an arty/student vibe. Very casual dress code. Lots of attractive young women, if your in the market.

Fun place, got a good deal on drinks+entry. Definitely check online before paying for entry at the door, could be cheaper. Music is good, bathrooms were very clean and nice which was a pleasant surprise. There were a couple of creepy dudes though, the type that look like they want to skin you and wear you, so be aware of that 🤷♂️

Horrible experience had. Entry was 12€ with an included alcoholic drink. In my opinion this was not worth the price, the place shouldn't warrant more than 10€ for entry.
The DJ didn't seem to bother or didn't know how to mix two songs together for a transition. There where multiple cuts of the music because the DJ apparently couldn't keep down the noise level (this happened around 5 times during the night). Long story short I would've much preferred to have a Spotify playlist instead of DJ Obtuso.
They sound system has nothing to envy either it sounded flat like my mobile phone's speaker.
It's a place for older people, I'd say most of them where 27+ years old, thought this would mean a little more respect for our group of younger women, but men were disgusting and touchy. We had multiple situations where a friend had a bad time and we had to get out.
Oh and by the way if you want to get out for some fresh air you have to pay an extra 2€ (?!? I have never seen this business tactic before, it's very scummy) you could not pay but you'd have to pay 12€ again to get back in.
Similarly pervy where the bouncers. They weren't sure if it was a 18+ night or a 21+ one so they "made an exception" for us. We should have taken this as an early warning of the night to come, but we didn't really know the area and we wanted to have some fun. Silly of us...
Anyway, I do not recommend this place to anyone.

Our go to place for great live music in Valencia. Always a very warm welcome and a fantastic atmosphere.

Amazing atmosphere in this nice club, musicians are the top: playing and singing live! Prices are very democratic. Only a compartment is quite small, probably this is only one reason why I put 4 stars)

they do an open session every wednesday and i got picked to play the drums for one song, when i sat in the stool i was met with a large foreign object in my baggage area, still enjoyable

I was here yesterday with a friend. We went to both concerts. Great atmosphere, and the guys at the bar are very friendly and professional. There’s a real family vibe. We’ll be back!

What a great night! Terrific musicianship. The “house band” enjoyed about 8 guest musicians and singers who dropped in - and who were as terrific as the regulars. Cocktails were €10,50 each, but with the cover only being €5 each, and the fantastic music, it was well worth it. The Thursday jam session (jazz/swing) began at 8pm and went thru without a break to almost 10pm. All the staff were lovely to us. Thanks for a wonderful night of fantastic music!
Tips for Enjoying Valencia’s Nightlife Like a Local
To truly maximize your experience and blend in with the Valencian crowd, a little local knowledge goes a long way. The city operates on a different clock than much of the rest of Europe, and understanding the social cues, timing, and traditions will dramatically improve your evening. Here are some essential tips to ensure you navigate the scene safely, respectfully, and with maximum enjoyment.
Pace Yourself and Start Late
The most common mistake visitors make is arriving at a club at 11 PM to find it completely empty. In Valencia, the party starts very late. Enjoy a long, leisurely dinner and stay at the pre-drink bars until at least 1:00 AM before heading to a discoteca. The peak energy in most dance venues is usually between 3:00 AM and 6:00 AM, so a late afternoon siesta is highly recommended if you plan to last all night.
Master the Art of "El Terraceo"
Before committing to an indoor venue, do what the locals do and participate in "el terraceo." This is the act of hopping between outdoor terraces in plazas like Plaza del Tossal or Plaza de Xúquer. It is a relaxed, social way to start the night, allowing you to people-watch, enjoy the warm Mediterranean air, and warm up your social batteries before heading to louder venues.
Check the Dress Code
While Valencia is generally more relaxed than Madrid or Barcelona, some of the upscale clubs near the City of Arts and Sciences and the marina enforce a strict dress code. For men, this usually means no shorts, no flip-flops, and no sports jerseys; smart casual shoes and a collared shirt are the safest bet. If you are planning to hit the alternative bars in El Carmen, however, casual and vintage attire is the norm.
Learn the Local Drinking Customs
When ordering a beer, you will usually be asked if you want a "caña" (a small draft beer) or a "doble" (a larger size). Locals often stick to cañas because they stay cold and fresh. If you are in a group, it is common to order a sharing drink like a pitcher of Agua de Valencia (the local cocktail made with cava, orange juice, vodka, and gin). Be cautious with this drink; it is delicious but deceptively strong.
Stay Safe and Use Public Transport
While Valencia is a very walkable city, at 4 AM you may be far from your accommodation. The city has an excellent night bus service (NIT bus) that runs on weekends, but taxis and ride-sharing apps are also readily available and relatively affordable compared to other major European cities. Always keep an eye on your belongings, especially in crowded clubs in the El Carmen district, as pickpocketing can occur in tourist-heavy areas.
The beauty of Valencia’s nightlife lies not just in the volume of the music or the strength of the cocktails, but in the city’s ability to make everyone feel welcome. Whether you are sipping a local wine in a quiet Ruzafa side street or watching the sunrise from the beach after a marathon dance session, the city offers a sense of community that is increasingly rare in large urban centers.
As you plan your evenings, remember that the best nights are often the unplanned ones. Allow yourself to wander through the glowing streets of El Carmen, follow the sound of a distant bassline, or accept an invitation to join a table of locals at a plaza bar. Valencia is a city that rewards curiosity, and its nightlife is a living, breathing entity that promises unforgettable memories long after the sun rises over the Mediterranean.
