We had an amazing stay at this hotel and truly loved everything about it. The service was excellent from beginning to end.
The housekeeping team did an incredible job. They came several times a day, and our room always had fresh water, clean towels, and a perfectly made bed. Everything was always spotless and comfortable.
The front desk team was very helpful, and the bellman was extremely professional and assisted us with everything, including arranging taxis and making sure we had everything we needed. The level of service was exceptional, and we would absolutely stay here again.
The only negative experience happened at the hotel restaurant. Our server, Solina, was extremely rude and made us feel very uncomfortable. We honestly wanted to leave, but we were so hungry that we decided to stay. Thankfully, Edgar was wonderful. He handled the situation professionally, made us feel much more welcome, and completely improved our experience.
Overall, this is a beautiful hotel with outstanding service, and we will definitely return.

Where do we start. My wife and I had one of the best hotel experiences. Not only was the hotel an awesome one, the staff there were another level. Special shout out to Miriam and Quique, who constantly went above and beyond to help us ensure we got the most out of our stay. They even helped us prepare a detailed itinerary of where to go and what to see. Amazing service, great accommodation. The rooftop Pool and Bar is a must. Will definitely go back there again.

I stayed at Ohla Barcelona for two nights in a Junior Suite. Overall, the hotel itself is beautiful, and the suite was incredibly spacious and comfortable. The rooftop was one of the highlights of my stay, very relaxing, with stunning views over the city and the cathedral.
Breakfast was also excellent. As a vegan, I was pleasantly surprised by the number of options available and never felt like I was missing out, which I really appreciated.
Unfortunately, it does seem that the hotel may be a little behind on room maintenance. I experienced issues in both rooms I stayed in, including lights that weren’t working, a broken phone, and problems with the doors/windows. The issue in my original room resulted in significant street noise and a very difficult first night’s sleep, which required me to change rooms the following day.
That said, the hotel did ultimately take my concerns seriously and worked to make the situation right, which I appreciated.
There is a lot to love about Ohla Barcelona, the property is beautiful, the rooms are spacious, the rooftop is fantastic, and the breakfast was one of the better hotel breakfasts I’ve experienced as a vegan. With some additional attention to preventative maintenance and ensuring rooms are fully checked before guests arrive, the experience could be excellent.

Javi, Edouardo, the initial bellman that helped us checkin, the front desk team, and the restaurant team did a great job serving us! They went above and beyond to the point where Javi even made dinner reservations for us and had 2 complimentary glasses of champagne waiting for us at the restaurant. The initial bellman did something I have yet to have any other bellman do, which after bringing our luggage to our room, he stayed in the room and without request showed us the amenities in the room and how to get the most out of them since some of them were a bit more unique. The restaurant even made us a special breakfast even though we arrived late. Overall, great location, and there’s even a great brunch spot across the street as well called Brunch and Cake. The rooftop pool is exceptional with a great view of arguably the most famous building in all of Barcelona. We’d recommend. Only improvement would be the AC is not strong, nor cold enough for our desire, but I believe they have strict rules for how cold it can go.

One of the best hotels I’ve stayed at. I can’t say enough about the service. Everyone I ran into was able to help us in English. The fine touches on everything were perfect. They were always a step ahead from check in to check out. Made it seem seamless. And everyone had a smile and was incredibly friendly. Loved it! On the day we checked in we saw a free show of synchronized swimming in their roof top bar while enjoying a great cocktail and meeting new friends.

Outstanding hotel! Comfortable, clean, and quiet. It’s in the perfect location - a 5 min walk to the metro station and close to everything, while still being away from the bustle of La Rambla. Our Superior Room was spacious and had a beautiful view of the Arc de Triomf. The staff were all friendly and welcoming. A lovely touch was the chocolates delivered to our room in the evening. Highly recommend this hotel. We will certainly be back!
Morgan Edwards★★★★★
Location is my biggest factor in booking a hotel other than value. This location is nice with pros and cons. Taxi drivers had a hard time dropping us off and picking us up because this hotel is locked into the edge of a pedestrian area. I recommend walking to the Arc de Triomf to do pick up and drop offs. And walking the 2 minutes into the pedestrian area. The street noise is minimum due to this which is nice and it is very walkable. Many restaurants nearby as well as the park. Safe area. Staff were really nice. Check in was easy and room was ready early. They stored our bags after check out with no problem. Room was very clean and smelled clean too. The pool area got crowded. And is hard to use/ feels awkward in the late afternoon due to where the sun is in relation to the sunbeds. Our anniversary was acknowledged and we appreciate that.

One of the best experiences I've ever had at a hotel. I actually changed my lodging reservations from another hotel to this one and am so glad I did.
The staff is welcoming, kind, and super helpful.
They gave me great recommendations for the area and helped book a local taxi for my ride home to the airport. The rooms are spacious and clean and the rooftop pool, lounge area, and gym are awesome overlooking Barcelona.
Hands down the best international hotel I've stayed at and one of the best hotels I've stayed at period.

My wife and I came to Barcelona for the day while staying about two hours away. Neither of us had ever visited Barcelona before.
We were having such a great time that we didn’t want to go home, so we decided to book a night at the Hotel Catalonia Born.
What an amazing experience it was! The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, and they made our stay very enjoyable. The hotel is lovely, very comfortable, extremely clean, and in a fantastic location.
When we return to Barcelona, hopefully very soon, this is 100% where I’ll be booking again.
Thank you to all the staff – you’re doing an amazing job. See you again soon!

I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Catalonia Born. If you’re looking for a combination of convenience, modern comfort, and affordability in Barcelona, this is the place to be.
The location is a traveler’s dream. It’s only a 3-minute walk to the Arc de Triomf and about 5 minutes to the Palau de la Música Catalana. Most major Old Town attractions are within walking distance. The neighborhood is vibrant, filled with great restaurants, cafes, and convenient stores. Public transport (Bus/Metro) is also just steps away, making it easy to explore the whole city.
The hotel’s design is sleek and contemporary. I was particularly impressed with the room: Much larger than the typical European city-center hotel room. A very comfortable King Size bed that guaranteed a great night's sleep.
The room was spotless and featured a fantastic Rain Forest Shower. It also had a kettle (great for tea/coffee) and a mini-fridge.
For the price we paid, the value was exceptional. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Barcelona!
My only complaint is that there was only one accessible outlet in the main room, plus one more in the bathroom.

We really enjoyed our stay at Catalonia Portal de l'Angel. The property was beautiful and in the perfect location. The rooms were quiet and clean and the staff were helpful and kind. The room service was also very reasonably priced. We will definitely stay here again!

We had a wonderful stay for 2 nights at Hotel Catalonia Portal de l'Àngel.
The location is hard to beat, right in the heart of Barcelona, just a short walk from the Gothic Quarter, Plaça de Catalunya, and many of the city's top attractions. Despite being on a lively shopping street, the hotel feels peaceful and relaxing once you're inside.
The rooms were spotless, comfortable, and well maintained, and the staff were welcoming and professional throughout my stay. One of the hotel's highlights is its beautiful interior courtyard with a swimming pool, a quiet oasis that's perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring the city. The breakfast offered plenty of fresh and tasty options, making it a great way to start the day.
We would happily stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, centrally located hotel with excellent service in Barcelona.

Location is 10/10, amazing central location.
Rooms are nice and clean and comfortable.
Hotel has a bar, and a massive bonus having a pool, albeit a small one.
I didn't have the breakfast at the hotel, although it has the option for one which is great.
Check-in was smooth, and it's a great hotel for the price point. I would definitely recommend.

We are a couple from Australia in our 50s and have stayed in many places over the years. In our opinion, this accommodation would easily qualify as a four- five-star property in Australia. Although it’s listed as a three-star in Spain, don’t let that discourage you—it far exceeded our expectations. Book with confidence; you won’t be disappointed.
We would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable and stylish stay. A well-deserved 10/10!

We stayed for 3 Nights, and yes, the Location is very good to do pretty much anything in Barcelona. BUT for the Price it was disappointing… we had a balcony, but you could’nt really open the door because there was construction work going on outside which was extremely loud. The Bathroom in our room had black mold on the ceiling which was really disturbing. There were multiple a cockroaches crawling around in the lobby and the female receptionist did not care at all. When we arrived there was a young man at the reciption who was really friendly and spoke good english tho. Also on our floor there were dirty dishes which just stayed there for 2 days, maybe more. Also DO NOT buy tickets for the hop on hop off bus tour which is advertised at the reception, there is a second one in Barcelona calles Bus Touristic which is much better. We used the one they sold at the reception and often had to wait 20mins until one came while we saw many of the other bus company stop at the same spot. Breakfast in the Hotel was okay, the pool area is small and not very cozy.

We had a very pleasant stay at the hotel. Overall, the service was good, the staff were helpful and friendly, and the facilities were well maintained.
There are just a few areas that could be improved. It would be great if the carpets in the rooms could be deep-cleaned more regularly, as this would help keep the rooms even fresher and cleaner.
The sink in our room also drained quite slowly, so it may be worth checking whether the drainage needs cleaning or improvement.
It would also be very useful to have more charging sockets in the room, including fast-charging USB ports and different types of international plugs. The existing charging sockets were quite slow, so it took a long time to fully charge our devices.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would be happy to recommend the hotel. These small improvements would make the experience even better for future guests.

Love our 4 night stay! Staff is SO friendly and accommodating! Special thank you to Evelyn, so attentive, wow! Clean rooms, lobby is pleasant and always has fresh water and candy to snack on while you relax after a long day of exploring. Roof top bar staff is great and food is delicious. Special touch with all Rituals shampoo, body wash conditioner in the bathroom! Would come back.

What I liked most
A beautiful hotel in a perfect central location. Everything is finished to a high standard, tastefully decorated, and the overall atmosphere feels elegant and welcoming.
What I didn’t like
Our check-in experience was disappointing. One of us was ill, so I emailed the hotel in the morning to kindly ask if a room could be made available as early as possible. Unfortunately, we only received our room after many other guests had checked in, meaning one of us had to wait for hours in the lobby while feeling unwell.
Another disappointment was the room pricing. We paid extra for a room with a “view”, but the view was mainly a construction site next to the hotel, with only a small glimpse of the cathedral (see photo). When we raised this at reception, we were simply told that nothing could be done, and no gesture of goodwill or small compensation was offered.
Overall
Despite these issues, H10 Madison is an excellent hotel with a fantastic location. I would happily stay here again, but I hope the customer service and room descriptions can be improved.
David Gubatan★★★★★
Our room was ready early and we were greeted warmly at the front desk. The morning breakfast, which included made to order items, got us off to a strong start each day. All of the staff are kind and helpful. Kamal took good care of our room. The location is perfect for sightseeing.
Peter D★★★★★
Apart from the great location, comfortable beds and champagne in reception all day long. The absolute best thing about this hotel is the staff. I had so many conversations with them about restaurants, public transport, Spanish words … ever single one of them were polite and super helpful. All of them. Then we I returned home i discovered I had left my watch in the room. The staff went out if their way to help me arrange for the watch to be couriered back home. Don’t think twice. If you have the budget. Stay here.

We had a wonderful stay! The hotel is a really nice place and the staff provided excellent attention from the moment we arrived. Our room was incredibly comfortable and clean.
The only downside was that the in-room coffee machine didn't work, which was a bit disappointing for the morning. Other than that minor hiccup, everything was fantastic and we would definitely stay here again!

Our stay at H10 Urquinaona Plaza was excellent, but what truly stood out was the exceptional service we received from Francesca at the front desk. Her warmth, attentiveness, and genuine hospitality made our experience memorable. She went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed, handling every request with professionalism and a genuine smile. The hotel itself is well-maintained and ideally located in Barcelona, but it’s Francesca who elevated our stay from good to exceptional. Highly recommended—and do ask for Francesca if you can!

We had an excellent experience at the H10 Urquinaona Plaza and would gladly stay here again.
Although we spent most of our time exploring Barcelona and didn’t fully take advantage of all the hotel’s amenities, everything about our stay exceeded expectations. The staff was consistently attentive, friendly, and professional, always willing to help with anything we needed. Our room was spotless, comfortable, and well-maintained, and both the room and common areas had a fresh, pleasant scent that immediately made the hotel feel welcoming and upscale. They even had welcome drinks and candies!
The location is fantastic—within easy walking distance of Las Ramblas, the metro, great coffee shops, and countless tapas bars, making it an ideal base for exploring the city.
One thing that really stood out was the level of service. After returning from our cruise, we had a late flight and the hotel kindly held our luggage so we could enjoy another full day in Barcelona without having to worry about our bags. That extra convenience made a big difference and was greatly appreciated.
Overall, this hotel combines an excellent location, clean and comfortable accommodations, and exceptional customer service. We highly recommend H10 Urquinaona Plaza and look forward to staying here again on our next visit to Barcelona.

On my second visit to Barcelona, I spent 4 wonderful nights at this hotel and couldn't be happier with my choice.
The location is fantastic, and the hotel offers excellent services that truly stand out, such as the delightful welcome drinks and sweet treats.
In particular, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to Eddie. He was incredibly supportive and helped us resolve an issue during our stay.
I will definitely return to this hotel on my next trip to Barcelona. Highly recommended to everyone!
Michael Henline★★★★★
We chose this place as the location was perfect for walking as we explored Barcelona. Dozens of places to see, all just a short walk away.
The staff greeted us upon arrival, speaking multiple languages fluently. They offered to store our luggage so that we could go out and visit a restaurant while they prepared our room. A kind employee sat with us before we left and gave us a map that she annotated to make our exploration even easier.
The room was fairly typical size-wise in our travel experience for Europe. Small when compared to the States, but plenty cozy. The balcony was fantastic & their garden stunningly beautiful. The lighting and decor was tasteful. The outdoor furniture was comfortable and blankets were supplied.
The little bar/restaurant was sweet and the prices were fair. The staff were outrageously friendly! We did have a couple of issues during our stay, but they were quick to repair and correct them.
Overall a positive experience that we'll recommend to our friends traveling to Barcelona.

Central location, 5 minutes walk from Plaça Catalunya and even less from Barcelona Cathedral. Easily accessible from the metro urqinaona. We opted for the room with private bathroom (giant shower) and ours even had a private terrace. Impeccable cleanliness, welcoming staff and available to meet any request.

Absolutely spot on for what we needed, room and bathroom were clean, tidy and spacious. It's brilliantly priced and so handy for everything in the city. Balcony view of the opera house was 👌 👌
B C Winsor★★★☆☆
The location is this hostal’s best quality. Everything was easy to reach either by walking or by metro. Easy walk to both Catalunya and Urquinaona stations, so you can easily get to the most popular tourist destinations. It’s right next to the beautiful Palau Musica Catalana.
However, the room was very basic and felt too expensive for what it was. The shower panels wouldn’t close properly, there was only 1 plug easily used for charging, etc - esp as we didn’t want to unplug the fridge.
Generally an okay stay but there might be other accommodations better for the same price point.

I was lucky to stay at this place. The price and value ratio is outstanding . It went way beyond my expectations. Located in a historical building, in the center of the city; it is rare to find this kind of place with that kind of service. Coffee and tea is provided all day, bed is really comfy, and everything is exceptionally clean. I was so happy with my stay! People working there are great. I asked for laundry last minute and the girl working night shift was very accommodating about it.
It also happened to be my birthday while I was traveling, and I got a surprise cake which made my day! It was totally unexpected. Big thanks to Samantha and Hostal del Palau!! It is a family atmosphere which makes you feel very much welcome .
I highly recommend this place, and definitely coming back to stay there again .

Lovely, friendly welcome. Clean and spacious had a beautiful view from our Juliet balcony. The host was very informative, the room suited our needs as 3 people sharing, bathroom was okay but toilet made flushing noises every now and then. Overall stay was great and would highly recommend if you are looking for a cheap but cosy stay.

We were thrilled to spend a wonderful 3 nights here at this hotel. It was exceptional from arrival to departure. The service, the food…..everything was just over the top. Had a medical emergency during our stay and they arranged everything without flaw or stress. Can’t give them enough stars for their incredible service and a great start to our European adventure. Breakfast and spa were also amazing. Do yourself a favour and book this hotel next time you plan to go to Barcelona….you won’t be disappointed.

My daughter and I had two nights here on a little girls trip. It was so comfortable, breakfast was amazing, the spa was fabulous and we enjoyed reading our books on the roof by the pool after a busy day shopping and museums. We loved that we could walk everywhere too. The staff were so helpful, professional and very friendly. Highly recommend!

I was very pleased with my stay. The hotel was exceptionally warm and stylish and the staff were excellent.
Particular highlights was the unexpected complimentary wine and cheese hour and the breakfast spread.
I was a little disappointed that the breakfast coffee on offer was limited to filter and pod coffee - my request for a cappuccino from the barista machine was declined. I would have expected a hotel of this calibre to have offered decent coffee with breakfast.
All in all throughly recommended and I intend to return.

An Absolute Gem in Barcelona – Flawless Service and Style!
As a Local Guide, I get to visit many hotels, but Yurban Passage Hotel & Spa truly stands out as a top-tier experience. From the moment we walked in until the second we checked out, everything was simply perfect.
The Staff & Service: I have to start with the reception team. They are the heart of this hotel! No matter what time of day it was, they were available, welcoming, and professional. Every request we had—big or small—was handled with perfection and a genuine smile. It’s rare to find such a dedicated team that makes you feel so looked after.
The Hotel & Rooms: The hotel itself is stunningly beautiful with a sophisticated yet cozy atmosphere. Our room was incredibly pleasant and felt like a true sanctuary after a long day of exploring the city. I also have to highlight the cleanliness—it was absolutely impeccable. You can tell the housekeeping team takes great pride in their work.
The Breakfast Experience: Whatever you do, don't miss the breakfast! The selection was rich, fresh, and delicious, but the breakfast staff really stole the show. They went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed, providing service that was nothing short of "above and beyond." It was the perfect way to start every morning.
If you’re looking for a combination of luxury, comfort, and world-class service in Barcelona, this is the place to be. Highly recommended!

The location of this hotel is a walking distance to most of the scenic spots in the city. The rooms are large enough to put 3 beds in there. Rooms are clean and housekeeper comes in every day to clean up and change towels for you. The staff are very friendly and polite. Zak is especially helpful. He made me feel I’m important. He arranged taxi service for us on the last day and even helped us with the luggage. Every time I come back to the hotel, I feel like coming home. This hotel deserves more than 3 stars.

An excellent stay in every respect. The room was spotless and housekeeping was carried out daily without exception. The staff were helpful and attentive throughout. We had a wonderful stay at HCC Montblanc Hotel in Barcelona. The hotel is very clean, comfortable, and perfectly located within walking distance of many of the city’s main attractions, making it an excellent base for exploring Barcelona.
The breakfast was also very good, with a nice variety of fresh and tasty options to start the day.
A special thank you to Zak, the bellman, who truly made our stay even more enjoyable. He was incredibly friendly, professional, and always willing to help with a smile. His warm welcome, helpful recommendations, and excellent service made us feel genuinely valued as guests.
I highly recommend HCC Montblanc to anyone visiting Barcelona and will definitely stay here again on my next trip. Thank you to Zak and the entire team for making our stay so memorable!

I recently stayed at HCC Montblanc during my trip to Barcelona, and overall it was a great experience. The hotel is located right in the middle of the city, which made it convenient for exploring the surrounding areas. I did take taxis to visit places like the Sagrada Familia and several other monuments, but the location still felt central and easy to navigate from.
One of the highlights was the daily breakfast buffet. There were plenty of options to choose from, and everything was fresh and well-prepared — a great way to start each day.
What I appreciated most about this hotel was how clean and safe it felt. The rooms, common areas, and overall atmosphere gave me a strong sense of comfort throughout my stay.
Overall, HCC Montblanc is a solid choice if you’re visiting Barcelona: clean, safe, centrally located, and offering a good breakfast to start your day. I enjoyed my stay and would consider returning.

The hotel is in a fantastic location for exploring Barcelona and the staff were very kind and helpful. The breakfasts were also genuinely delicious and a great start to the day. Unfortunately it was very difficult to rest after a full day of sightseeing because the sound insulation in the rooms is extremely poor. You can hear everything from neighboring rooms, bathrooms, and the hallway. I couldn’t sleep because I could even hear snoring from the room next door. The doors also close very loudly, which kept waking me up. It would definitely be worth considering providing earplugs in the rooms. The bathroom was also missing a toilet brush which was inconvenient.

We booked 2 night rooms with balcony and 2 nights room without balcony.
Clearly, the room with balcony was more comfortable and bigger. We enjoyed eating outdoors in the balcony and the view was great!
Breakfast was delicious and staff were nice, helpful and friendly!
However, only one minor flaw was the location was not really convenient as we came from airport and took off in centre which took more than 10 mins to reach the hotel.

One of the best hotels I've stayed in. From the moment I stepped through the doors I was greeted with kindness and hospitality. I arrived a few hours early from my check in time and they took me in and made me feel right at home. I was offered breakfast after a long flight and freshly cooked eggs and crepes with a nice hot cappuccino. They offered to hold my luggage while I explored the city and wait for my room to be ready which they made ready earlier than check in time. And also allowed a later check out time. Definitely recommend this place which is conveniently located in the least touristy part of the city which alot is walkable and alot of great local restaurants and shops as well as local transit.

We can’t recommend the We Boutique highly enough, our favorite stay by far in all of Spain! The breakfast was such a treat and the room/balcony was perfectly appointed - Jenny was very responsive and so friendly. Do yourself a favor and stay at this lovely place!

As a tourist, safety was my top priority, and I felt completely safe during my stay. The neighborhood is calm and felt very secure — plus, it’s full of Asian restaurants and markets, which added a vibrant and authentic touch. The hotel is run by thoughtful and kind women from Asia, and they were always one step ahead, helping before you even asked. Complimentary snacks and drinks in the lobby were a lovely touch (only alcohol is charged, which is totally fair).
The hotel is on the first floor of a historic building, converted into a small but stylish boutique hotel. My room was spacious, with high ceilings and modern lighting. Both the AC and ventilation worked perfectly. The bed was super comfy, and the furniture was great quality. The bathroom had all the basics — hairdryer, slippers, shower cap, shampoo, conditioner, etc. A small note: there was no toothbrush or cotton pads, which could be nice additions.
But my absolute favorite part: the balcony! Surrounded by trees and overlooking a quiet street, it was so peaceful I skipped some tourist plans just to sit there. I could even hear the sound of a trumpet from Arc de Triomf nearby. I’d love to stay here again! 🌿🎺

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely Incredible Stay at We Boutique Hotel!
Our experience at We Boutique Hotel was beyond amazing from start to finish. The staff went above and beyond in every possible way — warm, welcoming, and always ready to help with a smile. You can truly feel that they care about every guest.
The breakfast was fantastic — fresh, delicious, and beautifully prepared each morning. But what truly made the stay unforgettable was the wonderful lady who prepared breakfast and also cleaned the rooms. She was hands down the best employee ever — so kind, attentive, and hardworking. She brought such a genuine warmth to every interaction and made each morning feel special.
The entire atmosphere of the hotel felt personal and full of heart. I can’t recommend We Boutique Hotel enough — it’s not just a place to stay, it’s an experience filled with genuine hospitality and care. I would come back in a heartbeat!

We stayed for one night and had a wonderful experience. Our room was spotless, with a large terrace and a beautiful view. We were welcomed with a complimentary glass of sparkling wine, and although we arrived around 2 PM, our room was already ready for an early check-in. The staff were friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. The location is excellent, just a short walk from the city center, with great restaurants and a lovely park nearby. The rooftop pool is a nice addition, although it is a bit small. Overall, the hotel offers excellent value for money, and we would definitely stay here again.

We had a fantastic stay at Hotel REC Barcelona. The location is perfect, right on the edge of the busy tourist area, so you can enjoy everything without being surrounded by the crowds. It’s only a short walk to the Gothic Quarter, around 20 minutes to the Sagrada Família, and close to the Arc de Triomf, it was a great base for us to explore the Gothic quarter.
The beds are incredible, easily the most comfortable hotel beds I’ve ever slept in. The rooms are modern, completely soundproof, and even have Bluetooth speakers built into the ceiling, which was a great for playing music from my phone.
The staff were outstanding throughout our stay. They were friendly, welcoming, and very knowledgeable about the local area. They also went above and beyond by arranging for flowers to be delivered to our room for my partner within 48 hours of my request, which made our anniversary even more memorable.1
If you’re there on a Monday
evening, make sure you book the hotel’s beer or wine tasting. We had an amazing time learning about the history of Spanish beers and wines, and we even got to sample several award winning craft beers, including some outstanding IPAs. It was a brilliant experience and well worth doing.
The rooftop bar and pool are another highlight of the hotel. The views across Barcelona are spectacular, and I loved spending time up there relaxing by the pool with a drink while taking in the city skyline. It’s the perfect place to unwind after a day of sightseeing.
The facilities are excellent, and everything was clean, modern, and well maintained. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again and would highly recommend Hotel if you’re looking to visit the Gothic Quarter.

My stay at REC Hotel Barcelona was fantastic from start to finish. The hotel is modern, spotless, and in an excellent location—within walking distance of many of Barcelona's top attractions, while still being in a peaceful area.
The staff were incredibly welcoming, friendly, and always happy to help with recommendations and any questions. My room was comfortable, stylish, and had everything I needed for a relaxing stay. I especially loved the rooftop terrace and pool, which offered beautiful views of the city and were the perfect place to unwind after a day of sightseeing.
Overall, I had an amazing experience and would highly recommend REC Hotel Barcelona to anyone visiting the city. I would definitely stay here again on my next trip to Barcelona!

Cute and fun hotel in a great area of Barcelona. Convenient to loads without being touristy. REC has lovely staff and was the two most important things for me when traveling in summer - quiet and cold. Breakfast was lovely. Could use a mini fridge, hooks, and hand cream in the room but otherwise all amenities were available. Would stay again. Thanks!

AMAZING experience at Hotel REC!!! The room was spacious with a HUGE bed that was extremely comfortable. The air conditioner worked perfectly and the room was always super cold. The staff were so friendly and went above and beyond. I requested an iron and a new hair dryer and both came within a few minutes. The rooftop pool so nice and clean and the bar had delicious food and drinks. All of the bartenders were amazing but special shoutout to Nadine ❤️ the location is so central, I was able to walk mostly everywhere and there were multiple bus stops right there. As a solo female traveler, I felt so safe here. Cannot recommend enough!!

Our stay at this hotel was an absolutely unique experience that will remain in our memories forever. We came to celebrate my parents-in-law's 40th wedding anniversary, and thanks to the incredible dedication of Ms. Andrea, this time became truly magical. Ms. Andrea prepared such a beautiful and moving surprise for us that my mother-in-law was brought to tears of joy. We are immensely grateful to her for the warmth and heart she put into making this anniversary such a monumental occasion.
The hotel is located in a perfect spot – almost all major attractions, metro stations, and sightseeing bus stops are within a short walking distance. The rooms are very comfortable with exceptionally cozy beds and pillows, and the housekeeping staff is incredibly attentive.
We really appreciate the approach to breakfast – it is not just a standard, impersonal buffet. Although there is a selection of fresh cold cuts and vegetables available, hot dishes like delicious scrambled eggs are prepared individually for each guest, which gives a sense of exceptional care. However, it is worth remembering that breakfasts in Spain can be quite greasy, which is a result of local culinary traditions rather than the hotel itself – it is worth being prepared for that.
For those traveling for a romantic getaway, it is important to know that the bathroom design – with glass, almost transparent doors and quite large gaps – is rather bold. Additionally, it is worth keeping in mind that you need to ask the staff to replenish the water in your room, as it does not happen automatically every day.
These minor details did not overshadow the wonderful atmosphere created by the people here. Once again, thank you to Ms. Andrea for everything. If you are looking for a place with a soul, where the staff truly strives to make guests feel special – this place is a bullseye. We will definitely be back!

We stayed at Hotel Vincci Gala recently and had a great experience. The rooftop was incredible and the pool the perfect way to enjoy the hot sun without being in a super crowded area.
The employees went above and beyond to ensure we had a great stay and were extremely accommodating! We didn’t have any issues with noise from the metro below the hotel, which was great as we are light sleepers.

Lovely spot to stay 👌. Central to town made for easy self guided walking tours. The room was smaller but not too small. The restaurant food was very 👍 good! The staff were also helpful in getting us going with taxis and trips.

I had a truly wonderful stay at the Vincci Gala Hotel in Barcelona.
What impressed me most was not only the beauty and elegance of the hotel itself, but especially the exceptional professionalism, kindness and genuine warmth of the entire staff.
A very special thanks goes to Olimac, the chef de rang of the restaurant, whose professionalism, reliability, attention to detail and friendliness made every dinner a pleasure. He is an outstanding example of high-level hospitality.
I would also like to sincerely thank Chef Giraldo for the excellent cuisine, attention to quality and the care visibly dedicated to every dish served.
A heartfelt thank you also goes to Ms. Amber for her kindness and constant willingness to help, always with a smile and great professionalism.
Another special mention goes to Avra from the concierge service, whose competence, efficiency and courtesy were truly remarkable and made my stay even more enjoyable and stress-free.
In general, every single member of the staff deserves recognition — from reception to restaurant personnel and also the housekeeping staff, who were always smiling, discreet, kind and extremely professional.
It is rare today to find a hotel where guests genuinely feel welcomed and cared for every day.
Thank you very much to the entire Vincci Gala team. I will gladly return and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Barcelona.

This hotel is a nightmare. They shut off water without prior notice. They first gave me a room that was unclean - i don't know why, but there were oil stains with hairs. I requested same day laundry service, but it has not arrived same day. When I called reception, they tried to stop what I was saying. They were keep interrupting me, and I cannot finish my sentence. I called reception 5 times straight, but they were not answering. And in the middle of the day, I just received a random call from room service department regarding the room service that I have never ordered.. This place is totally insane. The bathroom floor is too slippery that I nearly slipped twice. If you want a peaceful trip, please never visit this place. This is awful.

We stayed here for a couple of nights on our way home from a cruise. The location is very handy if you want to wander thr Gothic Quarter.
The staff was super friendly and helpful.
The room was a fair size, and clean. Despite being on floor 1, we didn't get much noise from the street.
The breakfast had excellent variety, and I liked that it was easy to pair my Samsung phone to their TV using Samsung Dex so that we could watch our streaming services without having to add them the the TV

What a wonderful boutique hotel in the heart of Barcelona. Surrounded by many wonderful restaurants, a short walk to the Gothic quarter and Eixample. The desk is staffed 24/7 and the mattress was possibly the best I've ever slept on.

Jasek and Dennis were so helpful and welcoming. The room was very clean, attractive. Not huge but totally comfortable. The location was terrific, close to Palau de la Música Catalana, the Picasso Museum, Placa de Catalunya and tons of other fun places.

Excellent location—we stayed in January and loved how walkable everything was. All the main sites are nearby, with plenty of bakeries, coffee shops, and restaurants just steps away. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, the room had a great view, and hot water was always reliable. The staff were wonderful and made our stay even better.

Highly recommend Musik hotel! I researched a ton of hotels and Airbnbs in the city, and this one rose to the top. It’s reasonably priced, well located, super clean, and comfortable with modern finishes. The staff were very professional and helpful, and the buffet breakfast was worth the extra 15 euros.
Essential Tips for Booking a Hotel Near Palau de la Música Catalana
To make the most of your stay in Barcelona’s historic center, a little planning goes a long way. While the location is undeniably convenient, the area has specific quirks that can impact your trip. The following tips are designed to help you navigate the booking process like a local expert, ensuring your accommodation enhances your cultural visit rather than complicating it.
1. Book Ahead for Performance Dates
The Palau de la Música hosts some of the most sought-after concerts in Spain, from symphonic orchestras to international jazz artists. If your visit coincides with a major performance or festival, the surrounding hotels fill up remarkably fast. To secure the best rates and room categories, always book your accommodation immediately after purchasing your concert tickets.
2. Understand the Street Noise Factor
The streets of El Born and the Gothic Quarter are lively well into the early hours, especially on weekends. While being close to the action is exciting, it can be disruptive for light sleepers. When booking, look for rooms described as "interior-facing" or request a room on a higher floor. Many modern hotels in this area have excellent soundproofing, but older boutique properties may not.
3. Prioritize Walkability Over Taxis
While Barcelona has an excellent metro system, the streets immediately surrounding the Palau are largely pedestrianized or restricted to local traffic. If you plan to use taxis or rideshares frequently, you may have to walk a few blocks to a main thoroughfare like Via Laietana. Choose a hotel that allows you to walk to your primary destinations to save time and frustration.
4. Check for Rooftop Amenities
Because the historic center is densely packed, outdoor space is a premium commodity. Many of the best hotels in this district compensate by offering spectacular rooftop terraces, some with plunge pools and views of the Barcelona Cathedral. After a long day of sightseeing or before an evening concert, having a quiet space to unwind above the city noise is a significant advantage.
5. Consider the "Rate Flexibility" Options
Travel plans can change, and Barcelona is a city where you might fall in love and want to extend your stay. However, due to the high demand in this central location, many hotels enforce strict cancellation policies on their cheapest rates. It is often worth paying a slightly higher rate for a flexible booking that allows free cancellation up to 24 or 48 hours before arrival.
Finding the right place to stay near this architectural wonder sets the tone for your entire trip. By selecting a hotel that aligns with your comfort needs and travel style, you free yourself up to fully absorb the magic of the city. There is something uniquely special about stepping out of a concert at midnight, still buzzing from the acoustics, and having only a two-minute stroll back to a comfortable bed.
Barcelona is a city that lives on the streets, and staying near the Palau de la Música places you at the pulsing heart of that energy. With the right preparation and the perfect room, your visit to the Catalan capital will resonate long after the final encore has faded away.
