12 Best Hotels in Cannes

The French Riviera glitters with a certain timeless glamour, and nowhere is this more apparent than in Cannes. While the city is globally recognized for its prestigious film festival, its appeal extends far beyond the red carpet. From the historic charm of Le Suquet to the designer boutiques of La Croisette, Cannes offers a Mediterranean escape that balances high society with relaxed coastal living.

Choosing the right accommodation is the single most important factor in shaping your visit. The location of your hotel will dictate whether you spend your days walking to the beach or hailing taxis. It also determines the vibe of your evenings, ranging from quiet, romantic sunsets to vibrant, late-night social scenes.

Cannes is a city of distinct neighborhoods, each with a unique character. Staying directly on the Boulevard de la Croisette places you in the center of the action, steps from private beaches and luxury shopping. Alternatively, the cobblestone streets of the old town offer a more intimate, village-like atmosphere with panoramic views.

The standard of hospitality in Cannes is exceptionally high, catering to a discerning international clientele. Whether you are visiting for a corporate event, a film premiere, or a family vacation, there is a property tailored to your needs. The best hotels here are not just places to sleep; they are destinations in themselves, offering world-class spas, Michelin-starred dining, and private beach access.

However, the sheer volume of options can make the search overwhelming. From grand palaces that have hosted royalty to boutique hideaways tucked away from the crowds, the variety is vast. To help you navigate this competitive market, we have curated a list focusing on location, service quality, and unique amenities.

This guide aims to match you with a property that enhances your specific travel experience. Whether you prioritize sea views, historic architecture, or modern minimalist design, the following selection represents the pinnacle of hospitality in this iconic city.

After a terrible experience elsewhere, this hotel was truly my safe haven✨ Anita at the front desk was very warm and welcoming, she gave me some great food recommendations and sights to see. The room looks wayyyy better in person and is a great size, honestly the pictures don’t do the room enough justice, and the view from my room is stunning! Super close to the train station, and very good location. I love this hotel and I definitely 10/10 recommend!💕

Room clean. Service and personel helpful, friendly and competent. Location good but be cautious at night. 24h Reception and entry only to guests with card helps makes the hotel feel more secure. Extra point for the exceptionally friendly receptionist. Overall good choice.

I cant rate them based on anything because we didnt stay there but I rate then based on the lack of empathy. Made reservations for the fireworks for our anniversary and due to a medical emergency (my partner needed emergency surgery) we are unable to go anymore. The person I spoke with was rude and didn’t even check if it was possible to cancel. Made this reservation through hotels.com and they told me they cancel but needed the hotels approval, of course she said impossible, bye. Anyways I am rating based on this only.

My wife and I used the spa today and indulged in a massage. The spa is spotlessly clean and the service wonderful The standout were the two masseurs Angélique and Jennifer Who gave us one of the best massages we have had. We highly recommend the spa and you should request one of these wonderful ladies.

I booked a special offer massage and spa time and I'm going to make it a regular thing! My massage with Stephanie was fantastic. She hit just the right spot and I left feeling so much better. The pool was great, large and warm enough for me. It wasn't busy (but it was in the middle of a storm!!) The staff there are really helpful and they want you to have a good time!!

An exceptional welcome from the entire team, always smiling and attentive to every detail. The facilities are very clean, comfortable, and create such a calming and reassuring atmosphere. A special mention to Stéphanie, a truly professional, gentle, and reassuring woman. I had such an enjoyable experience that I actually fell deeply asleep by the end of the massage. When I come back, I will definitely book one of her treatments again without hesitation. Thank you once again for this wonderful experience!

I stayed at the Canopy for one night and had an amazing experience. The room was clean and very comfortable, and with a great view on the ocean. The location right next to the beach was perfect during this heat wave! The highlight of my stay was the buffet style breakfast on the roof top, with an amazing view on the French Riviera. The buffet was of very good quality and variety. My server, Thierry, was also amazing, very friendly and took great care of me. Another member of staff, Anna, looked after me and was such a great hostess. We engaged in great conversations and she gave me great recommendations of places to visit and things to do in Cannes. She was professional, friendly and very caring and made me feel right at home. She let me know that she was leaving soon. Please please keep her !! She’s a great asset to this hotel!!

I had a perfect stay in Cannes. The views of the marina were incredible, and being able to watch the sunset right from my room made the experience even more special. The scenery was beautiful, and the staff were genuinely friendly and attentive throughout my stay. I really appreciated the room upgrade as well. From the spa team to the front desk and the staff at Marea restaurant, everything was top-notch. A truly memorable stay in Cannes.

A huge thank you to Asmaa for making our stay so special. From the very first moment we arrived, she welcomed us with genuine warmth, professionalism, and a beautiful smile. She went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and was always kind, attentive, and eager to help. Exceptional service like hers is rare and truly deserves recognition. She represents the hotel in the best possible way and made a lasting impression on us. Thank you, Asmaa, for your outstanding hospitality. We will definitely remember your kindness and look forward to coming back. Highly recommended!

Amazing hotel, service, food, spa, and all! And one should have seen food presentation in their Beef bar ! I had hummus w avocado one day, red shrimp ceviche and caviar by the pool another day, presentation is work of art. Body wrap plus in spa- one of the best in last 4 years, and I had them all over the world. I definitely will be back
Cammie Middleton★★★☆☆
Cocktails were ok. Presentation was good though. Were they worth $28 a pop? - Hell No! - I was there because the film I was in, "Ruby's Heart" was in the Cannes Film Festival. I stopped here for a meet and greet event. Service was very slow and poor although picturesque. But the staff was very nice and pretty ...they just didn't know what they were doing. Ugh! Drinks could have been little stronger and more robust so we left to our apartments to make our own and search for other dinner options. Atmosphere was fun and our networking event was just perfect there. Lots of stars and celebrities....but again we went somewhere else for dinner. If the drinks aren't rocking, that indicates the meal will be just as mediocre.

I had an exceptional experience thanks to Béatrice GAGNAIRE, whose level of professionalism, efficiency, and kindness is truly one of a kind. She consistently replied to every email incredibly fast, always with clarity, warmth, and genuine care. In a world where service is often delayed or impersonal, Béatrice stands out as someone who truly understands the meaning of luxury hospitality and guest satisfaction. Her attention to detail, dedication, and willingness to assist made every step smooth and stress-free. She made me feel valued as a guest and handled every request with elegance and precision. Le Majestic Cannes is fortunate to have someone of her caliber representing the hotel. She is a rare gem and a true asset to the Majestic experience. Thank you, Béatrice, for your outstanding service. I will always remember your kindness and excellence.

Our stay at Le Majestic Cannes Hotel was absolutely exceptional from start to finish. Traveling with four children (ages 10, 7, and 5), we were especially grateful for the incredible kids club staff. They were warm, attentive, and genuinely engaging with each of our children, creating a fun and safe environment that our kids couldn’t wait to return to each day. The breakfast each morning was another highlight—fresh, delicious, and with a wonderful variety that suited both adults and kids alike. It truly set the tone for relaxing, enjoyable days. What stood out most, though, was the kindness and professionalism of the entire staff. Every interaction felt thoughtful and genuine, and the level of care and service throughout the hotel was outstanding. We left feeling completely refreshed—not just as parents, but as a whole family. It’s rare to find a place that caters so beautifully to both children and adults, and we’re already looking forward to returning. Will be returning to experience it all again!

The room is adequate, and the location is fantastic being right next to the train station, and an easy walk to the waterfront. There are some great low cost restaurants right by the hotel. The room itself has limited space for storage and moving around, but it was fine for four days. The air conditioning works well, though the sound proofing could be better.

We loved our stay very much , it was during the world cup so the matches was available to see at the room , very near to everything , breakfast was great We will come again sure ❤️

Stayed here for 4 night. Never disappoints. Do note that the room doesn’t have a fridge, tooth brush, and proper shampoo (only body gel) . Despite that, it’s an excellent hotel with kind staff.

Very friendly, welcoming and available staff. Amedeo went the extra mile to help My room was very small and essential. Breakfast could have more varied choices but it’s priced at 8 € so at a reasonable price/quality ratio

1/10 – Absolutely not recommended. We had booked two rooms for three nights (July 11–14) through Booking.com. When we arrived at around 11:30 PM, the hotel was completely dark. At first, we thought it was closed or that we had arrived at the wrong address. However, Google Maps confirmed that we were at the correct location. We then realized that the hotel was open, but none of the garden lights were working, so the entire entrance was in complete darkness. This created a very poor first impression. We had five large suitcases with us. When we asked if anyone could help us with our luggage, the receptionist simply pointed to a luggage cart. At 11:30 PM, we had to load all five suitcases onto the cart and transport them to the reception ourselves. The biggest issue occurred during check-in. We had already paid the full amount for both rooms through Booking.com. After taking our passports, the receptionist asked for our credit card. When we asked why, she said the hotel required an €80 security deposit per room. We explained that there had been no mention whatsoever of any security deposit during the Booking.com reservation process. We had no problem paying the city tax, but we could not accept an undisclosed deposit being requested upon arrival. The receptionist, a blonde woman named Nadine, immediately became rude and unprofessional. She said, "It's not my decision; the hotel manager requires it." She kept us waiting, called the manager, and then came back saying, "If you don't pay the deposit, I cannot give you your room." Her attitude was extremely disrespectful, confrontational, and far from professional. The entire conversation took place in front of other guests, which was embarrassing. We also witnessed other guests experiencing exactly the same problem because they had not been informed about this deposit requirement when booking through Booking.com. We had stayed at this hotel about ten years ago, when it was a modern and well-maintained property. Since it changed ownership, it has clearly deteriorated. The hotel is now old, poorly maintained, and neglected. Even the garden lighting was not working, leaving the entrance completely dark at night. The biggest disappointment, however, was the way guests were treated. Nadine's rude, disrespectful, and argumentative behavior was completely unacceptable and does not reflect the level of hospitality guests should expect. We definitely do not recommend this hotel and will never stay here again.
Fars Alrushud★☆☆☆☆
I genuinely do not understand how this hotel is rated 4 stars. Unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing and far below the standard expected from a hotel in this category. There was only one employee at reception, which made the check-in process extremely slow. The receptionist was also very unhelpful and uncooperative. I had to wait for 4 hours at reception with a child, even though the rooms were already ready. This was completely unacceptable and made our arrival unnecessarily exhausting. The rooms were also very small and uncomfortable, and the overall quality of service was poor. Nothing about the experience reflected the level of hospitality or professionalism expected from a 4-star hotel. Based on my experience, the hotel needs major improvements in reception management, customer service, efficiency, and guest comfort. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone expecting genuine 4-star standards.
Nez Hasan★☆☆☆☆
I would strongly advise anyone considering staying at this hotel to think twice. The ladies at the hotel were nice and accommodating, the room was an ok size and location was good too but, At around 1:30 am, after returning from a night out, I discovered that the safe in my room had stopped working My passport, wallet and other valuables were locked inside, and I had a flight to catch in just a few hours. I immediately went to reception expecting someone to help. The reception guy Vasile was there. Instead, I was told, “Not my problem.” I explained that my passport was locked inside the safe and that I would miss my flight if it couldn’t be opened. The receptionist repeated that it was my problem and claimed he had no key. When I asked him to call someone for assistance, he refused, sat back down, and said that maybe someone could come in the morning, despite knowing I had a flight. If you check other reviews other people have had the same problem. The only reason this was eventually resolved was because I called a local friend who came to the hotel and insisted that the receptionist contact the technician. Even then, he was reluctant. Eventually, the technician provided a reset code over the phone, and the safe opened within minutes. This whole thing took two hours of argumentation because he refused to help and kept saying not my problem. This proved the situation could have been dealt with much sooner had the receptionist simply been willing to help. What made the situation even more concerning was that while I was waiting in reception, two other guests arrived saying money had been stolen from their suitcase because their safe had not been working. They said they were told by the hotel that it was not their problem by the same man and that the hotel knew nothing about the missing money which was tekin from their suitcase. I cannot comment on what happened regarding their money beyond what I personally witnessed them reporting, but hearing that during my own experience made me even more concerned. I’ve never experienced such a complete lack of professionalism, empathy or urgency from hotel staff. When a guest’s passport is locked inside a faulty safe in the middle of the night before an international flight, the response should never be, “Not my problem.” I will never stay here again, and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The staff is wonderful—kind, friendly, and very helpful. The breakfast is excellent, and the rooms are very comfortable and welcoming. Pros: excellent location and good air conditioning. Cons: for the price you’d expect better service. I’ll explain. They provide a few coffee pods in the room but they don’t refill them unless you pay extra, even for a 4 night stay like we had. For the price of the hotel, you’d expect they’d give you $2 worth of coffee pods. Same goes for water, I asked the front desk if they had a water station or water cooler in the lobby as I’ve had at 99% of nice hotels. They don’t give water and she said, “you can drink the tap water.” While true, when paying luxury prices, you expect simple things like an ice cold water cooler, water bottles or a water station in the lobby, especially during a 100 degree heatwave. No other amenities like gym or pool even though their Google photos show a pool / hot tube area. Apparently those photos are from their Nice location. Overall decent stay but they need to learn that simple things that cost them next to nothing can make or break a guest’s experience.

Thanks to the wonderful receptionist. The hotel exceeded my expectations with its great location, no need for a car. The rooms and bathrooms are clean and well-equipped. The elevator is very small, but that’s not a big issue for me. I’ll definitely return.

Overall we had a good experience. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff were kind and helpful. The location is outstanding. The beds were comfortable, with enough pillows. The only two down sides were that the soundproofing was not enough to suppress sound from the neighboring hotel or hallway. Our room was on the 4th floor, which meant that we had no sounds from above but did have to walk up the circular staircase.
David★☆☆☆☆
To anyone who wants to book this hotel, let me save you both time and money. They post inaccurate photos on booking.com trying to make you think that they're an ok hotel. Turns out they're not. The locks on the doors don't work and they will literally not care and create excuses if you go complain, they don't even offer to fix it. Claustrophobes avoid this hotel at all costs. Elevator and room are tiny, plus there's only one tiny window very high up in some of the rooms.
Elizabeth Hotz★★★★☆
Fantastic location in the center:.. unfortunately no private parking. Friendly staff that speaks many languages. Nice entrance. The room rate was different from what was on the internet website. But unbeatable price for the location..in august. Just over €100 on a Friday night. The room was a nice size … comfortable bed and clean with air conditioning …but king size bed united with two mattresses that kept opening during the night. Unfortunately they still have carpet in the Floors. The bathroom had pats of silicone that went away… made it look not clean Unfortunately we had a neighbor that stared smoking pot at 5pm till the morning. But location location location is what counts!
jamavo★★★★☆
The room was very small, but functional. The room was generally clean, but the bathroom had some hairs in the shower from the previous visitors. The airconditioning worked well, and there was also a window that could be opened. The bed was fine, and there was a complementary bottle of water in the room. The staff spoke English, and was friendly enough. The only drawback was the elevator, which was too small for 2 people, and broke down soon after we used it!

This hotel was beautiful, it was perfectly located for exploring Cannes (10 mins walk under the subway) and it was very clean and comfortable. The rooms were modern with large beds, air con, safes, coffee and bottled water were included free of charge. The train station is very close (2 min walk) so perfect for jumping on the train and exploring different locations. Theres also a few places to visit close by which are less touristy (pizza restaurants and craft beer pub) and very good value. The reception staff were very kind and funny, they even managed to get us checked in (5 hours) earlier than advertised. This was great as meant we could get changed and explore straight away following our flight/arrival into Cannes. The only thing I would change is heating the pool for the colder months (it was freezing end of April) but the views were beautiful. Would highly recommend a stay here and wouldn't hesitate in re-booking. Very good value and very pleased - thank you!

Recently had a stay here and it was fantastic! 5 min walk to the beach, beautiful spa and great selection of massage packages, and the staff is attentive and very welcoming. The pool on the rooftop has the most special view of Cannes and the sea. It was also my wife’s birthday and they have great packages for these special occasions. Highly recommended and will be coming back!!

A 4-star hotel where there isn't even room in the room to unpack your luggage, and there are no teacups or a kettle, even though there are tea bags in the room. The location is excellent. The hotel is clean, but it's definitely not a 4-star hotel.

I had an excellent experience during my stay, and I would particularly like to highlight Ladin at the reception desk, whose professionalism and outstanding level of service truly made a difference. When we encountered an issue with the air conditioning at around 9:00 PM, at a time when no technician was available to come to the hotel, Ladin handled the situation remarkably well. She remained calm, reassuring and solution-oriented throughout. Thanks to her responsiveness and resourcefulness, she managed to find a solution and get the air conditioning working again without requiring a technician to come on site. She kept us informed and reassured us throughout the entire situation, turning what could have been a very frustrating experience into a perfect example of excellent hospitality. Beyond this, Ladin was extremely attentive throughout our entire stay. Her knowledge of Cannes and the surrounding area is exceptional, and she recommended some of the best restaurants, places to visit and experiences in the area. Every recommendation was carefully tailored and reflected her genuine knowledge of the destination. Her professionalism, presentation, communication skills and attention to detail were impeccable at all times. She has a natural ability to make guests feel welcomed, reassured and genuinely looked after. Ladin is a true asset to the hotel and represents exactly the level of service one would expect from high-end hospitality. A special thank you to her for making our stay in Cannes even more enjoyable and memorable.

Hôtel Renoir is ideally located, offering convenient access to the main attractions while remaining easy to reach. The property is well-presented, and the rooms are thoughtfully designed, well-equipped, and comfortable, with pleasant views of the surrounding area. The bed was particularly comfortable, contributing to an enjoyable stay. The staff were consistently friendly, professional, and efficient, ensuring a smooth check-in and check-out experience. Breakfast, while relatively simple, provided a sufficient variety of options to suit most guests. The hotel also offers excellent value for money, and we felt the quality of the accommodation and service fully justified the cost. Although there are a few minor areas where improvements could be made, our overall experience was highly positive and memorable. We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to others.
Caden Morales★★★★★
We had a great stay here at the hotel. The staff were friendly and professional. Room was spacious, clean, and the air conditioning was by far the best we experienced on our trip so far. The lobby has fresh water (still and sparkling) which we thought was a nice touch. The hotel is only a 5-7 minute walk to the train station and 7-10 minute walk to the beach and main area. There was a police station close by which made us feel safe walking at night but regardless the area seemed safe. The street is quiet and not much traffic at night. Would stay again and recommend to friends and family, great value for your money. Merci!

Great hotel in the center of Cannes. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and well maintained, and the staff is very friendly and attentive. The breakfasts are especially excellent. There is a large selection of food: different types of cold cuts, salmon, pancakes, hot dishes, fresh croissants, and pastries. There is also a wide variety of fruits, drinks, and good coffee. Everything is fresh and very tasty, making it a perfect way to start the day. The location is very convenient — close to the center, shops, and the promenade. Highly recommend this hotel and would be happy to stay here again.

Fantastic Stay – Highly Recommend! I had an amazing stay at the Sun Riviera Hotel in Cannes. The location is perfect—just a short stroll to La Croisette and all the shops and restaurants. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making me feel welcome from the start. My room was spotless, stylish, and very comfortable, offering a peaceful retreat right in the heart of the city. One of the best features is the spacious underground parking garage—a rare find in Cannes and so convenient! The hotel also has a lovely garden and pool area, perfect for relaxing. The hotel is excellent, and if it only has three stars, it deserves at least four. First of all, the staff is extremely kind and always smiling, they are very cordial. The rooms are clean, fragrant. They have their own parking, which is closed, not on the street, and excellent internet. It's more than enough for me, because I don't spend a lot of time in the room, just to take a shower and sleep. The hotel is close to the beach, more specifically La Bocca, so the beach is much cleaner and quieter than the city beach, the one in Cannes. From the center of Cannes, the hotel is about 2.5 km away, which in my opinion is not far for a leisurely walk along the coast and enjoying the sunset, just enough to stretch your legs a little and melt away after a whole day lying on the beach and delicious French cuisine. If you don't feel like walking, there is a bus stop right in front of the hotel. I love this hotel and my husband and I have been coming here for many years. Every year they are better and more helpful. My sincere recommendation

Good stay, at the 8 and last floor, room is a bit tight but we had a super nice terrace. Hotel area is ok, the place is ok, sea is very close, and city center can be reach in 10min by car. Only one elevator. I would suggest to the team to add a bottle of water for their customer, a few coffee caps more and stirrer. Some paper handkerchief would be appreciate.

Despite being a little far from the centre (although a bus stop and a train station are conveniently placed nearby) I was positively surprised by this hotel. Rooms are cosy and clean, breakfast is good, the staff is welcoming and there is an on-site parking place. The beach is also very close.

Twin rooms are small. More geared to children not two adults. We had a balcony and a little view. Not bad but basic.

Essential Tips for Booking Your Stay in Cannes

Before you finalize your reservation, it is crucial to understand the local landscape. Cannes operates on a different rhythm than many other European cities, with pricing and availability fluctuating wildly depending on the calendar. Knowing when to book and what to expect can save you significant money and ensure you secure the exact experience you are looking for.

Plan Around Major Events
Cannes is a hub for international conferences and festivals, most notably the Cannes Film Festival in May and MIPIM in March. During these periods, hotel prices skyrocket, and availability becomes scarce months in advance. If you are not attending these events, check the local calendar before booking to avoid inflated rates and crowded facilities.

Understand the Beach Club System
Many of the luxury hotels on La Croisette own private beaches across the street. Staying at the hotel often grants you preferential rates or complimentary access to these exclusive areas. If beach lounging is a priority, verify what is included in your room rate, as public beach access is limited and can be crowded during peak season.

Choose Your Neighborhood Wisely
The "best" location depends entirely on your itinerary. If you are attending a conference at the Palais des Festivals, staying near the Croisette is non-negotiable. However, if you prefer dining in authentic Provençal restaurants and exploring history, the Suquet district offers better value and atmosphere while remaining a short walk from the center.

Verify Air Conditioning and Elevators
Cannes can get intensely hot in July and August. While most modern five-star hotels offer excellent climate control, some of the charming boutique hotels in older buildings may have weaker systems. Additionally, historic buildings in Le Suquet often lack elevators; if you have mobility concerns or heavy luggage, confirm the accessibility features before arriving.

Look Beyond the Price Tag
The listed room rate in Cannes rarely tells the whole story. Factor in additional costs such as breakfast, which can be surprisingly expensive at luxury properties, and parking, which is notoriously difficult and costly in the city center. Sometimes a slightly higher nightly rate at a hotel that includes these amenities offers better overall value.

Your choice of hotel will set the tone for your entire French Riviera experience. By aligning your selection with your travel style—whether that is the opulent grandeur of a palace hotel or the understated elegance of a boutique residence—you ensure that your time in Cannes is spent making memories rather than managing logistics.

Ultimately, Cannes rewards those who plan ahead but remain open to its spontaneous charm. With the right accommodation as your base, you are perfectly positioned to explore the sandy beaches, the luxurious shops, and the glittering nightlife that make this city a perennial favorite on the Mediterranean coast.
