Finding a great cup of coffee in Seville is rarely difficult, but finding the perfect spot to pair your espresso with a view of the city’s most iconic monument is an art form. La Giralda, the bell tower of the Seville Cathedral, anchors the historic center, drawing millions of visitors into its orbit each year. While the immediate perimeter of the tower is often crowded with tour groups and souvenir shops, the winding, sun-drenched streets just a stone’s throw away hide some of the most atmospheric cafes in Andalusia.
Navigating the narrow alleys of the Santa Cruz quarter or the bustling avenues of the Centro district can be overwhelming, especially when you need a break from the Spanish heat. You might be looking for a quiet courtyard shaded by orange trees, a specialty roastery pushing the boundaries of modern coffee, or a historic pastry shop that has served locals for over a century. The area surrounding the cathedral offers all of this, but knowing where to step off the main tourist track is essential to avoid overpriced, mediocre menus.
The Sevillian coffee culture is distinct, often favoring the strong, dark roast of torrefacto beans or the smoothness of a café con leche served in a tall glass. However, in recent years, a wave of specialty coffee shops has emerged, blending international brewing standards with the traditional Andalusian love for leisurely socializing. Whether you are an early riser needing a pre-sightseeing caffeine hit or an afternoon wanderer seeking a sweet pastry, the right establishment changes the pace of your day.
This guide focuses on quality, atmosphere, and proximity to La Giralda. We have considered the nuances of each location: the texture of the milk, the acoustics of the patio, the freshness of the baked goods, and the view from the doorstep. You won’t find fast-food chains here; instead, we prioritize independent businesses and local institutions that contribute to the authentic character of Seville.
Because the streets here are a labyrinth of pedestrian lanes and hidden plazas, even a cafe located "200 meters" from the tower can feel like a secret discovery. We have walked these routes to ensure that every recommendation is accessible and worth the detour. From traditional breakfast spots where you can dip churros in thick chocolate to minimalist spaces serving single-origin pour-overs, the diversity is remarkable.
Before you set out, remember that Sevillian schedules differ from the rest of Europe. Many locals take their breakfast mid-morning, lunch late in the afternoon, and coffee breaks at all hours. Some of the best traditional cafes may close during the late afternoon siesta, while modern specialty shops often stay open continuously to cater to international visitors and remote workers.
To help you cut through the noise and find your perfect table, we have curated a list of the absolute best cafes within walking distance of La Giralda. Whether you are after the perfect Instagram shot of a latte art heart with the tower in the background or simply need a strong espresso to fuel your museum tour, this list has you covered.

Andrew Brown★★★★☆
This is certainly one of the best bars/restaurants in the area. Do take the time to enjoy the history and architecture of the building. However the charm is in obtaining an outside table and watching the world pass by. Service team are quite friendly and reactive. We visited several times and our experiences were consistent across the visits. Foods is quite good and certainly good value, presentation is a little lacking on certain dishes. Salads were particularly enjoyable. Overall a bar not to miss.
Nyxcel Barrera★★★★☆
If you are touring around the area on the clock and finding a place to dine, you may want to skip the place as it takes a while to get served though the food is 10 out 10 especially the fried goat and grilled baby squid with black rice amazing. The staff is not so accommodating but nice. The first guy who serve was fast but when the lady took over up until the writing of this review i still don’t have my soda and my sangria is up. 🙈 if I was choking i’d be dead now.
On a serious note. I would recommend the place as the food is tasty just spare ample time to dine here.

Hubby found this recommended on Pinterest so we came here after one of our excursions. Not to be disappointed! Best Jamón we had the whole of our visit to Seville. They were very busy inside and out but they had a table
For us by the window.. met some wonderful people that were students and had made friends in a hostel the night before. We had Tapas and drinks and had a lovely time there. The decor is quite something ☺️

Luckily there’s seating upstairs and people were just leaving, so we snagged a table. The view of the dining area from there is neat. The service was quick and friendly. The food was hot and tasty. This was the perfect place to grab some food and cold drinks, you should definitely dine here!

The best restaurant for food and tapas in town!!! 😍😍😍 Thanks for the great delicious food and service you offer to your guests 🙏❤️ I will definitely recommend this place to everyone visiting Seville 🫶
I tried grilled baby squid plate and artichoke with boletus sauce and prawns 😋 Super good 👌👌👌

Such a good cafe, highly recommended. Ended up going here 4-6 times over 3 days because their coffee is SO GOOD! Lovely area to catch up, have a drink and meet new people as well. The staff was kind enough to share some exotic funky beans they had and it was experimental and so unique ♥️

One of the best specialty coffee shops I’ve ever visited.
The quality of the beans is exceptional, and you can truly tell how much knowledge and care the team puts into every cup. The baristas are incredibly skilled, and even a simple espresso is made with such precision and attention to detail that you can really taste the quality of the coffee.
What I especially love about MUY COFFEE is their deep understanding and appreciation of specialty coffee. Every visit feels like a chance to experience coffee at its best.
I honestly found myself looking forward to waking up every morning because I knew I was going to start my day here. MUY COFFEE became one of the highlights of my time in Seville, and I’m so grateful I found this place. Highly recommended for anyone who truly loves great coffee. 한국인 분들 그냥 묻고 따지지 말고 이쪽으로 오세요 세비야를 통틀어서 스페인 전체에서 여기가 제일 맛있는 거 같애요. 산미있는 에스프레소 ..최고

My favorite coffee shop in the area. It has a relaxed, laid-back vibe, a friendly owner and team, and genuinely delicious coffee.
The space is small, but it’s been used really well, with a casual, thoughtful setup. They also play great music, which adds to the atmosphere.
Prices are very reasonable, and they even sell their own coffee beans.

Went twice during my quick stay. Had a batch brew that was dialed in—delicate with floral notes and a some fruity vibes! Came back for a cappuccino and it was delicious. They take their coffee seriously and combined with the great vibes and friendly service I would definitely recommend this. It is an authentic specialty coffee shop that anyone into coffee would appreciate.

Awesome coffeeshop! Had a great V60, and a Flat white. The owners were super nice, and very friendly! Made steamed milk for our daughter who really liked it as well. Would very much recommend if you're into speciality coffee.

Peter M. H.★★★☆☆
This coffee was at most acceptable however, I personally will not return. I ordered a large Cappuchino for 3,80 € (Jan. 2026) - easily a rather elevated price but one notices that this place get frequented by tourist who look for "something special" and don't mind paying higher prices. However, the Coffee tasted quite watery like flavoured brown water with good temperatured milk foam. Nothing more and nothing less.....there are many more places in Sevilla with better coffee and a better value for money.
Vancy★★★★★
The cappuccino was flavorful and full-bodied. It’s a tiny cafe, mainly focused on to-go orders.
Since it’s sometimes not easy to find great coffee places in Seville, this spot is a real gem.
Anyone who truly loves really good coffee should definitely visit this place!
James Maurice★★★★★
If you love your independent coffee shops that do coffee well then come here. Love to try different coffee shops wherever I visit, but after one visit here, I didnt need go elsewhere. Superb coffee and great service. Get your caffeine fix here!
GG★★★★★
Great strong coffee! Got the iced latte. No flavors available though
Kiki Leahy★★★☆☆
Similar experience to other reviews- for the price, the quality was not there. The coffee I was served was over extracted and watery. For the price and specialty vibe, I would have expected higher quality tuning of the beans from the barista. Fine if you don’t really care about coffee…

This coffee shop was on my radar being so highly rated but because of its limited open timings it was a struggle to get coffee but it sure paid off when I managed to try the coffee. Nestled on the streets beside the setas you can sit on a bench, bask in the sun and try this complex, deep flavoured that somehow wasn't bitter even without any sweetener ( I usually have coffee with sweetener). Top coffee experiences in Spain for me.
Kim Mendoza★★★★☆
Little coffee shop with lots of character! You can see in the details and interiors of the shop.
Excellent service as well. The barista was very helpful and warm when we asked about the beans and items in the menu.
We also enjoyed the coffee. Tried both iced latte Regina and espresso tonic which were both flavorful. I would’ve given it 5 stars if there were pastries. But overall, a must try!!

Hidden gem in Seville!
A cozy and lovely place with friendly, attentive staff. The prices are much more affordable compared to many other places.
I loved that you can create your own salad for only €7. The ingredients were fresh and tasty, and it was the perfect light and refreshing lunch on a hot Seville afternoon.
I also tried the homemade chocolate cake with black tea, and it was delicious. Rich, chocolatey, and a perfect ending.
Great value, fresh food, and a lovely atmosphere. Highly recommended!

La Gata en bicicleta it is a coffee bar not far away by the Antiquarium. The bar it is trendy furnished with an industrial interior design style. I liked the atmosphere like a typical New Yorker coffee bar. La Gata en bicicleta it is right place where drink a good coffee and eating a nice breakfast. The service is welcoming and kind. I recommend La Gata en bicicleta to everyone who want a good an quick breakfast in the city center of Sevilla.

This was a great place for breakfast/brunch. The fruit with yogurt stood out because of the quality of the fruit they put in it. The also offered a good English breakfast that my son had and enjoyed. The service was quick and we loved the outdoor seating. They had some indoor seating as well but we opted to sit outside.

If i could give cafe otto 10 stars, I would. All the cakes we tried (brownie, two kinds of cheesecakes) were one of the best we’ve ever had. Amazing savoury croissant. Came back multiple times, it was so great. The waiter (owner?) was super kind and helpful.

Looking for an independent coffee shop in Seville whilst on our walk there aren’t actually that many coffee shops. Googled and came across here, what a little gem of a find! Perfect cold coffee made to perfection - ingredients even weighed out! Only a couple of seats inside but I think many city people use it to have coffee on the go.
DC★★★★★
Stylish little coffee shop with fun décor and a relaxed feel. The setup is serious, with quality equipment behind the bar and a friendly barista who clearly knows what they’re doing. I had a double espresso for €3 which came with stunning crema and a very balanced flavour. A great quick stop for proper coffee in Seville. I’ll definitely return

Love their coffee.. offered filtered and espresso coffee beans.. went twice to grab their delicious latte.. they roast their own beans too… downside is not much seating area…

I have tried a Cold Coconut Matcha and an Oat Matcha with oat milk and vanilla syrup. Both so creamy and absolutely DELICIOUS! It is clear the matcha is high quality and the woman that served me here was so meticulous in crafting the coffees and matchas, putting so much effort and thought into them. Couldn’t ask for much more from a coffee shop 😍 - you can also buy matcha power, coffee beans and much more separately!

We grabbed a coffee with friends yesterday while walking through the touristic streets of Seville and decided to try this place. The barista was very professional, with his own special method of preparing coffee, and he was such a nice person. The coffee was excellent — as were the cookies, the drinks, and the decoration. Everything was really nice and pleasant.

LATE it is a coffee bar located not far away by alameda de hercules. The location it is tiny, fashionable and nice. The interior it is designed followed the minimalistic and freshly new yorker coffee bar style. The coffee it is well made it and one of the best tried in Sevilla. The service side sadly it is the least convincing part based on my experience. I can describe the service that I experienced like a little bit unfriendly and détachée. The Late’s it is a nice coffee bar but although If the service side was not satisfied I consider the LATE’s coffee bar a good place where to do a breakfast or a quick coffee break.

A cool coffee shop serving sandwiches and pastries, with solid coffee to match. It also works well as a spot to get some work done.

As a coffee lover, checked out dozens of places around Sevilla and this is by far the best. It checks all the boxes: coffee is amazing, smooth and creamy. Food is great for a satisfying breakfast/brunch (jamon sandwich is to die for, avocado&feta is fresh and a great combo with fried almonds, chocolate cookie is not overly sweet and very flavorful).
Last but not least: service is very friendly and efficient. It is a fairly small place, but I never had a problem finding a spot. Tables are cleaned in between guests (which is not always the case on other places). 10/10.

Probably the best cafe in Seville, my second visit to this outlet in another branch. Smoothie was delicious and reasonably priced. Sandwiches and lunches are also fairly priced. Just google this cafe and make an effort to visit, you will thank yourself and save lots of money from all those tourist traps. Good luck.

How to Choose the Right Cafe Near La Giralda
Selecting a cafe near a major landmark requires a bit of strategy to ensure you get the experience you are hoping for. While all the venues listed above offer excellent quality, your specific needs—whether you are working remotely, dining with children, or seeking an authentic local vibe—will dictate which one is right for you. Here are a few practical tips to enhance your coffee experience in the shadow of the Giralda.
Look for the morning rush to find the best locals. If you want the freshest pastries and the most authentic atmosphere, visit between 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM. This is when Sevillians stop for their mid-morning coffee and toast with tomato and olive oil. If a cafe is full of locals standing at the bar during this time, you know the quality is high and the prices are fair.
Don’t be afraid to sit at the bar. In many traditional Spanish cafes, prices differ significantly depending on where you sit. A coffee consumed standing at the bar (en barra) is often cheaper than sitting at a table (en mesa) or on a terrace. If you are just stopping for a quick espresso, standing at the counter not only saves you money but also gives you a front-row seat to the theater of the barista’s work.
Check the milk options if you have dietary needs. While the specialty coffee scene in Seville has evolved rapidly, some older, traditional establishments may still primarily use cow’s milk or condensed milk for their signature drinks. If you require oat, almond, or lactose-free milk, look for the newer, modern cafes on the list, as they are much more likely to cater to these preferences without compromising on texture.
Respect the local coffee timing. If you are looking for a heavy meal or a large lunch with your coffee, you may be disappointed between 4:00 PM and 8:00 PM. Many kitchens in traditional cafes close during this window to prepare for dinner. However, cafes that focus primarily on coffee and pastries usually remain open. Plan your visit accordingly if you are hungry as well as thirsty.
Embrace the seasonal specialties. Seville is fiercely proud of its seasonal produce. Depending on the time of year, you should look for special pastries or drinks. In winter, try a café con crema or a warm pastry; in spring, look for treats made with Seville oranges or the famous torrijas (Spanish-style French toast) around Easter. Asking about seasonal specials often unlocks the best a cafe has to offer.
Carry a bit of cash for the smaller spots. While most modern cafes near the cathedral accept credit cards, some of the smaller, family-run, traditional bars and pastry shops may have a minimum spend for card transactions or prefer cash. Having a few euros in your pocket ensures you won’t miss out on a hidden gem just because you lack change.
Seville is a city that rewards those who slow down and look around. While the Giralda is the star of the skyline, the cafes at its base are the lifeblood of the neighborhood. They are places where students sketch, businessmen negotiate, and families gather on Sunday mornings. Taking the time to sit, sip, and watch the world pass by is not just a break from sightseeing—it is the very essence of experiencing the city.
As you finish your coffee and step back out onto the cobblestones, you will likely find that the view of the tower looks a little different. Perhaps it is the caffeine, or perhaps it is the feeling of having briefly become a part of the neighborhood’s daily rhythm.
