10 Halal Restaurants near Notre-Dame de Paris

Finding a great meal near one of the world’s most iconic landmarks can often feel like navigating a culinary minefield. The streets surrounding the Île de la Cité are saturated with tourist traps offering overpriced, underwhelming food. For Muslim travelers and locals seeking halal options, the search for quality and authenticity requires a bit more local knowledge.

Fortunately, the vibrant neighborhoods bordering Notre-Dame, particularly the Latin Quarter and the Marais, are home to a thriving halal food scene. You do not have to sacrifice flavor, ambiance, or budget just because you are steps away from a major monument. From traditional French-Maghrebi fusion to modern street food, the diversity is impressive.

This guide focuses on the best establishments that prioritize both halal compliance and culinary excellence. We have evaluated kitchens based on the quality of their ingredients, the consistency of their cooking, and their proximity to the cathedral. Whether you are looking for a quick shawarma before a tour or a sit-down dinner after viewing the rose windows, there is an option for you.

We understand that "halal" encompasses a spectrum of dietary observances. While most of the venues listed below serve certified halal meat, some may also serve alcohol on the premises to cater to a broader Parisian clientele. We encourage diners to inquire directly regarding specific certification and kitchen practices to ensure the meal meets their personal standards.

The area around Notre-Dame is one of the most walkable in Paris, meaning these restaurants are all within a comfortable stroll. You can easily combine your visit to the cathedral with a meal in the historic 5th arrondissement without needing to take the Metro. This list balances convenience with the high standards of French gastronomy.

By focusing on venues with strong reputations among local students and residents, we help you avoid the generic kebab shops that lack character. The restaurants featured here represent the multicultural reality of modern Paris, offering everything from Levantine breakfasts to North African couscous. They are perfect for refueling during a long day of sightseeing.

Below is a curated selection of the ten best halal restaurants near Notre-Dame de Paris, chosen for their reliability, taste, and proximity to the landmark.

A fantastic spot with amazing flavor—loved the lamb and the unique Middle Eastern twist on the Caesar salad! (4.5 Stars) We stopped by Los Brothers and had an absolute treat of a meal! The grilled meats and fresh salads here really stand out from your typical fast-casual spot. The Lamb Skewers: Cooked to perfection—tender, full of rich flavor, and beautifully seasoned. If you enjoy authentic, well-spiced grilled lamb, this is a must-order. The Caesar Salad (Priya’s absolute favorite!): Usually, we find standard European or original Caesar salads a bit plain or overly heavy, but Los Brothers does an incredible Middle Eastern/spiced take on it. Packed with flavorful chicken and fresh toppings, it completely elevated the dish. It was easily the star of the table! The Bulgur Wheat: A brilliant side option instead of heavy starches—warm, comforting, and wonderfully seasoned. Minor feedback: The only real downside was the french fries, which turned out a bit too oily and soggy for our taste, so we ended up leaving most of them behind. That small point aside, everything else was a solid 4.5/5 stars. Great food, generous portions, and wonderful flavors. We will definitely be back when we want a high-protein, flavorful bite in Paris!

Avoid this place at all cost the food was absolutely appalling disgusting chips tasted like a strange flavour from the oil that I couldn't even understand. The onions tasted foul and off. The staff were so so so so rude including the guy almost sweating directly on to the food. the food speaks for itself truly truly disgusting. Avoid this at all costs go across the road. This place needs learn how to speak to customers and deliver decent food. clean your oil fry the chips smile and take the money. It smells off!! I am so angry i paid for this

We went to Los Brothers for our last dinner in Paris, and wow — what a way to end the trip. The place was absolutely buzzing. People were constantly coming and going, and it was clear this spot is popular for a reason. Even with how busy they were, the service was top notch. The staff stayed on top of everything, made sure we had what we needed, and kept things moving without ever making us feel rushed. We ordered the platter to share, and it was so good. Everything was flavorful, fresh, and perfectly cooked. It’s one of those meals where you keep saying, “You have to try this,” back and forth across the table. Every bite delivered. One of the best parts? Everything is halal, which made it an easy and comfortable choice for us. Huge thank you to the team at Los Brothers for such a great experience. Keep killing it — we’ll definitely be back next time we’re in Paris!

★★★★★ Oulala truly lives up to its name — what a delightful experience! From the moment we walked in, the service was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The staff made us feel comfortable without being overbearing, which made the whole evening even more enjoyable. The food quality was outstanding. Every dish was beautifully presented and packed with flavour — you can really taste the care and freshness in the ingredients. It felt like authentic French dining done right. The ambience tied everything together perfectly — cozy, elegant, and relaxed. Whether for a date night or a special gathering, Oulala creates the perfect setting. Highly recommended, and we’ll definitely be back!

This was honestly one of the best meals I’ve had in Paris. The fact that it’s halal makes it even better. I had the steak and the duck and both were amazing. I’m from Texas and I’ll say it straight up this steak tasted better than anything I’ve had back home. The owner Beja was super genuine and really took care of me. It was my first time ever trying duck and he was very patient and made sure I liked it which I definitely did lol. You can tell he actually cares about the food and the people he serves. Great food great vibes and great service. I would 100 percent come back and recommend this place to anyone visiting Paris.

A nice halal rustique restaurant with a very comforting vibe. There was a lovely fire in the middle of the seating area, fast service and very nice food. The home made chips were absolutely amazing A+++ The pricing was very fair, I recommend to all who may be passing through

Loved the chicken here, it was so juicy and tender. We ordered a curry Poulet which came with two sides and the salad. It was a very generous portion and the restaurant was air conditioned (we dined during the heatwave so really helped). The menu was halal and the server was very courteous and entertained us in English.

I love this place. Their food is very delicious and every time I come to France, I drive straight out to this place to eat there. Mix plates are so full and you can even share as the portions are very big. It’s almost like a mom and Pop store so the service is very good. The place is clean and comfortable seating.

Turkish kebab spot that gives generous portions. Came here for dinner after a long day of sightseeing and we wanted to grab something to eat back in our hotel. They do have seating available. Credit cards and cash accepted. The kebabs come with fries on the side and a tasty sauce. They do have vegetarian options (falafel).

The food at this restaurant was excellent overall. We started with the chicken spring rolls, which were decent and a good way to begin the meal. For the mains, I had the ribeye steak, which was rich in flavour and cooked very well. My partner chose the lamb shank, one of their best-selling dishes, and thoroughly enjoyed it, it was tender and satisfying. What truly stood out, however, was the service. From the moment we arrived, the staff were welcoming and attentive, creating a comfortable and enjoyable dining experience. All in all, a great spot for both quality food and warm hospitality.
Zaid Y Ismail★★★★★
When searching for halal French cuisine Le Jumeyrah came up multiple times. Having visited two French establishments on my trip I would definitely recommend this one as the food definitely hit the spot with every dish being executed almost perfectly with the exception of the mashed potatoes which were just alright but not necessarily amazing. The duck which I had was perfectly cooked medium rare and accompanied by a robust soy glaze and sweet potato mash which made for an unexpected but brilliant combination. The service was also amazing with attentive waiters who made sure that our experience while at the restaurant was great. This place is a 10/10 and I would highly recommend it.
Aisyah AA★★★★★
lovely spot for delicious halal food in paris, dishes were tasty and beautifully presented. service is excellent with attentive staff. definitely worth a visit for a nice dinner!
Omar Nawawi★★★★★
My wife and I had our first dine in Paris here for dinner and got to say, the service is friendly as well as attentive. We ordered Steak and Cheese Burger for the night and had no complaint. My only minor feedback was on the burger bun (BUT ITS JUST MY BIAS because I prefer a certain type) Overall, they were to kind but maybe was our first experience. TLDR; We're just happily satisfied with the night.
Wasim Afzal★★★★☆
Smart restaurant with upmarket decor . Trying to serve fine French cuisine. The lamb shank was amazing cooked slowly and falling off the bone. Unfortunately the Veal dish i had was poor. Really thin slices over cooked when i asked for medium and served with creamy pasta - it just didn’t go. The chicken pasty starter was nice and dessert was also good quality. Worth a visit but pick the steak or lamb

Kehribar quickly became one of those rare places you can’t stop thinking about after you leave. I went for lunch yesterday with my wife, and the food was so outstanding that we found ourselves coming back again tonight for dinner with another couple. That alone says everything. From the moment you step inside, you’re wrapped in a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. The aromas of the food immediately pull you in, and the friendliness of the staff makes you feel at home right away. The vibes flow seamlessly from outside to inside—warm, inviting, and full of character at every turn. The food is truly exceptional. The Istanbul grill for two is absolutely perfect—generous, beautifully cooked, and packed with deep, rich flavors. Every bite was memorable. The 7-variant appetizer plate is a fantastic way to explore a variety of cold mezes, each one fresh, vibrant, and full of authentic taste. The service was excellent throughout our visit, attentive without ever being intrusive. What really stood out was the chef’s genuine desire to make guests feel like family—you can feel the care and pride in every dish that comes out of the kitchen. Kehribar is more than just a meal; it’s an experience. Warm hospitality, incredible food, and an atmosphere that makes you want to stay longer and come back again. Highly, highly recommended. Best part - it’s a full halal menu!

What a great find! Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful, especially when it came to translating the menu and assisting us whenever needed. We sat at the tables in front of the main preparation area, which gave the place a lively atmosphere, but there’s also another room next door with a few additional tables if you prefer a quieter spot. We ordered the Mediterranean dish and the döner plate, and the portions were amazing. The döner dish came with a small salad, fries, and a side of rice, making it incredibly filling. The Mediterranean platter also included tzatziki, flatbread, and hummus — and every single component was exceptional. Everything was fresh, flavourful, and generously served. I honestly can’t recommend this place enough!!!

If you want to have a nice and incredible dinner during your Paris trip, this is the perfect place for you!!! The food is the best you could get and it has amazing prices! The owner, Korhan, is one of the best hosts you could wish for. He is very helpful and kind. He also has good humor and is in general pretty funny. The ambience is relaxing and gives a familiar feeling. The staff is also very nice and helpful. We had an amazing experience and are thankful for the great service from both the owner Korhan and the team! PS: We await you in Stuttgart!

It is a must to try this restaurant especially for Muslim travellers. Amazing service, love the menu and the food! There is definitely something for everybody. Pls support this halal establishment if you are in Paris. On our recent visit there are no long lines for sure. The staff are humble and always helpful. Easy to get to on foot or by uber.

This is a short walk from Roosevelt Station, or about 15 mins walk from L’arc de Triomphe. We had dinner here, the service was decent as was the decor. The kids menus are superb, with very generous portions and will fill any child 7 or below easily. Drinks were super with great options. Lamb shank was delicious. However, the fried chicken steak and the house steak were quite dry and chewy, they were not great. That said, sides were all perfect. Gratin dauphinois was superb. The steak could have been an off-night (unlikely as we ordered two and they were the same!). Not amazing but still worth a visit as it’s not easy to get halal steak in Paris. All in all a great place to come and try.
Taimur Mian★★★★★
The ambience is great..very cozy, chique vibes. Food comes out fast..ate mostly chicken. It's very rich and scrumptious. I couldn't finish all of it..but highly recommend. It's in a very trendy part of Paris. As a tourist I enjoyed it.

We were helped by Iman, and she was absolutely lovely! We arrived a little late, but she still helped us so kindly and made sure we had a great experience. She was very friendly, helpful, and professional. I would definitely come back here again. Iman is truly a top employee!

I discovered this halal restaurant online while visiting Paris, and it turned out to be quite easy to locate. I would definitely recommend booking in advance, as it can get fairly busy. The food itself was enjoyable. I had the hamburger, which was decent, while my partner ordered the chicken and rice dish, which was particularly well-prepared and full of flavour. Overall, the quality of the food and the convenient location made for a good dining experience. Unfortunately, the service did not match the standard of the food. The staff’s facial expressions and body language felt unwelcoming, which made us somewhat uncomfortable during our visit. To add to this, we were surprised when a tip was requested at the end, despite the lacklustre service. In summary, while the food and location are definite positives, the service leaves room for improvement.

It was very nice, food was good but soup was a bit too salty. Service super polite! Their front door gets stuck so you have to wait for someone to open it. The music there was not really Moroccan but didn't affect the atmosphere that much haha Thank you for the dinner:)

We were looking for a brunch place but didn’t want to wait in line at Hollybelly, and due to time constraints we needed to stay in the neighborhood and this popped up in our search. The atmosphere inside is amusing, and the server was very friendly, but a bit unreliable. Our bread came only after we asked and then only one piece per person, we had to order more food as we had misunderstood the sizes of the dishes and then again were brought the food without bread. The tea came at the middle of the meal, one of the foods we re-ordered was never brought. That was unfortunate, because we really loved the food, and would go here again (and order properly the first time round.) Truly excellent quality and taste!

What can I say except fabulous, Everything is amazing the food, the colors, and the decoration brought me back to my beloved country, Morocco. I also want to give huge credit to the team, especially Nohaila, whose energy and smile brought even more sparkle and joy to the experience. Thank you so much I highly recommend it.

It was my first time trying Indian food, and it was a great experience overall. The staff were very kind and welcoming, and the restaurant had a clean and pleasant atmosphere. We ordered naan and tandoori lamb as starters — they were good, though not exceptional. For the main courses, we had the butter chicken and butter shrimp, and they were absolutely amazing. The sauce was incredibly flavorful and delicious. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and would happily come back again!

I was shopping in the area when I stumbled upon this place and since I love desi food I decided to try it out. I was not disappointed! Two very special experiences we had in this restaurant- Foremost The Food: It was wonderful to say the least. My uncle and aunt visiting from India mentioned that this was better than what they had there ! Secondly The Service: It was warm and welcoming. The staff’s hospitality was marvellous, they frequently checked on us if everything was fine and need anything. This wonderful experience was topped when they offered us a sweet on the house ! Truly magnificent. Thank you Mr. Sandhu Charan Jit 🙂

Honestly one of the best places I’ve been to. Their food is authentically French and halal too. Honestly, one of the best places in Paris. The service is impeccable. Our server Anees was excellent - he was extremely attentive, made excellent suggestions, and was constantly checking in. It’s also quite busy well into the night. The French onion soup is particularly amazing, but everything on the menu deserves a try. Would definitely come back here.

A very authentic and comforting French dinner tonight in Paris. The fish soup had a rich fish flavour and felt very traditional. The Escalope Normande was tender, with a creamy mushroom Normandy sauce that had a slightly sour tang, making it feel genuinely French and rustic. They also served a complimentary tuna toast, which was a lovely surprise. The portions were very generous and the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. I wanted to order dessert too, but I was simply too full by the end!
Mimi★★★★★
The duck tasted better than any duck I’ve ever had. The French onion soup, duck, potatoes, and crème brûlée rounded out our meal and all were delicious. The chicken Normandy portion looked small but was more than enough.
dramanimegeek★★★★★
Great staffs and restaurant atmosphere. Ordered the duck confit, onion soup and creme brulee, everything was delicious. The serving could take some time to get to your table, but definitely worth it. The duck are so soft, the meat falling off the bones, french onion soup also very tasty that we keep munching it with the bread served. Located near to Gallerie Lafayette Haussman which you can enjoy Paris Eiffel Tower, very well located. I recommend for those who wish to enjoy Halal French cuisines.

A ver nice place with a lay down atmosphere in a calmer street. The decoration is lively and the staff is really friendly. All dishes were good and had interesting flavours. The story behind the restaurant is heartwarming and knowing that everything is done in house with fresh ingredients is a blast.

An unexpected gem. We spoke with the owner several times and also found the wait staff to be a delight. The food is healthy, creative, flavorful, and thoroughly satisfying. If you like Moroccan food or hummus this is a must! I recommend everything I tried: the hummus sampler, falafel, chicken with olives, and desserts (multiple; my dining partner and I enjoyed alternating between the coconut/citron and flan/orange flower varieties). The interior design is fantastic, too - don't sleep on checking out the toilet (not joking). The music was also fantastic (Elvis et al. earlier in the evening, then instrumental middle eastern). A lovingly and thoughtfully created dining experience and one of only two places that I made a point of eating at twice while in Paris.
Viren Aggarwal★★★☆☆
It's difficult to find interesting and good quality food while traveling and Paris has many dodgy touristy restaurants on every corner. Yoummah was a great find. It's a blend of Arabic North African cuisine- Tunisian, Algerian, Moroccan. The decor is very calming. The ladies serving and cooking are charming and polite. The food- we had the variety hummus plate. Unfortunately it was hard to distinguish between the various versions of hummus. Though I could feel that the food was good quality, it certainly packed in flavor. Then I came for their aubergine dishes and that day the aubergine did not get delivered. Well, if it's 1/3 of your menu then how come there were no contingency plans? Meaning every grocery store sells good quality aubergine in France/Paris. A run to the grocery store would have done the trick....so disappointing. I had the best food (similar type of food) in Essaouria, Morocco. The flavors there were unbelievably great.
Kelly★★★★★
Yoummah is a great place for middle-east food! I got the 35€ menu and was very satisfied with the amount of food but also the quality that came with it! You get a taste of their different appetizers + a choice of main dish + dessert! The portions are huge and I left the restaurant completely full 🙂 the only small regret is the lack of nicer desserts, their current ones have nothing too special, but I will definitely come back!
Krista Means★★★★★
O M G. This place was amazing!!! Our table had both detox drinks (delicious!), the chicken bites to share (a must), the chicken tagine (sublime), the falafels (moist and delicious, not even close to dry like most falafels I’ve had), and the quinoa and veggies (a party in your mouth). Honestly, I’m so disappointed we only found this place right before we were about to leave. The best meal I’ve had in Paris this whole week. Worth the trek, no matter what part of Paris you’re in. SO GOOD!

Parisian restaurants often display halal certificates, but standards can vary. Do not hesitate to ask the staff if the meat is sourced from a certified halal supplier. In French, you can ask, "La viande est-elle certifiée halal ?" A reputable establishment will be transparent and happy to answer your questions.

Check for Alcohol Service

In France, it is common for halal restaurants to serve beer or wine to appeal to a wider market. If you strictly avoid alcohol, even on the table, look for signs that say "No Alcohol" or ask before sitting down. Many newer, trendier spots are now completely dry, offering mocktails instead.

Look Beyond the Kebab

While a quick kebab is convenient, the area near the Latin Quarter offers high-quality halal steakhouses and gourmet burgers. Explore restaurants that offer French classics like entrecôte or duck breast prepared with halal meat. This allows you to experience French culinary technique without compromising your dietary needs.

Plan for French Meal Times

Many quality restaurants close their kitchens between 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM. If you plan to have a late lunch after visiting the towers of Notre-Dame, you may be limited to fast food or cafes. Try to align your meal times with standard French hours—12:00 PM for lunch and 7:30 PM for dinner—to access the best menus.

Use Local Review Apps

International apps like TripAdvisor are useful, but local platforms like TheFork or Google Maps reviews often provide more recent information on halal status. Search for recent reviews using keywords like "halal" or "sans alcool" to see what other Muslim diners have experienced in the last few weeks.

The area surrounding Notre-Dame is a testament to the fact that Paris is a global city where culinary traditions intersect beautifully. You can easily spend a day exploring the history of the Île de la Cité and then enjoy a meal that reflects the diverse fabric of contemporary France. The restaurants on this list offer more than just sustenance; they provide a warm welcome and a taste of the city’s evolving identity.

Whether you choose a luxurious cut of meat in the 5th arrondissement or a quick bite on the go, you can eat confidently. Keep this guide handy as you walk along the Seine, and you will find that the best part of visiting Paris is not just the sights, but the unforgettable flavors waiting just around the corner.
