15 Best Seafood Restaurants in Cannes

Cannes is a city that seduces the senses long before you ever sit down at a table. The sweep of the Croisette, the glint of superyachts in the Old Port, and the scent of salt air drifting through the cobbled lanes of Le Suquet create an atmosphere of effortless glamour. It is a place where the rituals of dining are taken seriously, yet the mood remains relaxed and sun-warmed. For locals and travelers alike, the question is rarely whether to eat well, but where to begin.

Seafood is the heartbeat of Cannes’ culinary identity. The Mediterranean supplies the kitchens of this city with an astonishing variety of fish, shellfish, and crustaceans, from tiny sweet clams to formidable sea bass. Chefs here understand that simplicity is the highest form of respect for such ingredients. A drizzle of cold-pressed olive oil, a squeeze of lemon, a scattering of herbs—these are often all that stands between the sea and your plate.

The dining landscape is remarkably diverse. You can find a marble-topped counter serving briny oysters and chilled white wine, a family-run bistro simmering a traditional bouillabaisse, or a Michelin-starred dining room where seafood is transformed into edible art. The common thread is an unwavering commitment to freshness. Many menus change daily, dictated by the morning’s catch at the nearby fish market.

Price points vary as dramatically as the settings. A casual lunch of grilled sardines with a view of the harbor can cost a fraction of a tasting menu at a palace hotel. Understanding this spectrum is key to planning your meals. Whether you are celebrating a special occasion or simply want a perfect plate of linguine alle vongole, Cannes offers a table for every budget and every mood.

This guide curates a selection of standout addresses, chosen for the quality of their seafood, the consistency of their kitchens, and the authenticity of their welcome. It is not an exhaustive list of every restaurant in town, but rather a carefully considered starting point for anyone who wants to taste the true flavors of the Côte d’Azur. Each entry offers something distinct, from a legendary institution to a hidden gem known mostly to locals.

As you read, remember that the best meals in Cannes are often unhurried. Reservations are strongly recommended, especially during the summer months and major events like the Film Festival. Dress codes are generally smart casual, though some of the more elegant dining rooms appreciate a jacket. Now, let’s explore the tables that consistently honor the bounty of the Mediterranean.

Astoux et Brun in Cannes is an exceptional, authentic local seafood institution. While we had to wait quite a while to be seated, the experience was absolutely worth every single minute. The quality and freshness of the seafood are outstanding: Fresh Oysters: Served chilled over a generous bed of crushed ice with fresh lemon, incredibly fresh and briny. Traditional Fish Soup: A rich, deeply flavorful broth accompanied by classic toasted croutons and creamy rouille. Citrus Seafood Ceviche: Beautifully balanced with vibrant grapefruit and orange segments, red onion, and smooth avocado, offering a clean, refreshing acidity. Grilled Fish Fillet: Flawlessly cooked and delicate, served with a finely diced vegetable relish, a rich eggplant accompaniment, and a crisp side salad. The atmosphere is bustling, vibrant, and genuinely local. If you are in Cannes and craving top-tier, unpretentious seafood, this is an absolute must-visit.
Valeria Paslar★★★★★
We stopped by for oysters and left very happy. The seafood selection is great, and everything we had tasted super fresh. We shared a variety of oysters, some fries, and a glass of the house wine, which made for a perfect lunch. The atmosphere is relaxed, while the service is friendly, attentive, and quick. It’s one of those places that does exactly what you hope it will: serve fresh, high-quality seafood without any fuss. The prices are fair, and we had a really enjoyable experience.

An exceptional seafood restaurant in Cannes! Everything we tried was absolutely delicious. The oysters were incredibly fresh, and the fish was cooked to perfection. Every dish was full of flavor and beautifully presented. There’s often a queue to get in, which says a lot about how popular this place is. But don’t let that put you off - it’s absolutely worth the wait. If you’re visiting Cannes, this restaurant is a must-visit. Highly recommended!

Wonderful atmosphere, good food, excellent service, but maybe a little bit overhyped. I arrived with great expectations, waited for about 45 minutes to get a table (not complaining at all!). The oysters were absolutely magnificent, but the mains were good enough, as they lacked seasoning, but to give credit where credit is due, the fish was soft, tender, and fresh. Just kind of bland. And I know some people prefer it that way, to taste every nuance without compromise, but for the the Couscous de Poissons, the poissons tasted kind of the same. Not saying bad, but just... underwhelming. To top it all off, I would definitely visit again! PS, get the Chablis, it is to die for 😉
Anna Maria★★★★★
Excellent seafood and fish restaurant in Cannes. I had the opportunity to enjoy dinner here with my friends at the end of May 2026. Both the monkfish and the oysters were absolutely delicious. The monkfish cost €31, and three oysters were €12.75. The restaurant staff were very professional and friendly—it was a pleasure to leave a tip for our waitress. The white wine we had with dinner was also very good. I would definitely visit this place again. Unfortunately, by 7:00 PM on Sunday, they had already run out of mussels, which we had been really looking forward to trying. The only downside is the long queue, but that simply shows how popular and tasty the food is. In the end, it was absolutely worth the wait. I’m also attaching photos of the monkfish, oysters, and the snails that were served as an accompaniment to the oysters.

Excellent restaurant for seafood lovers. We started with a selection of fresh oysters, which were exceptionally fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. For our main courses, we had a grilled sole and octopus a la plancha. Both dishes were perfectly prepared and cooked to perfection, allowing the quality of the seafood to shine. The wine list is also excellent. We paired our meal with a Chablis, which complemented the seafood beautifully. Combined with the attentive service and inviting atmosphere, this was a memorable dining experience that I would gladly recommend to anyone looking for outstanding seafood.
Chris Smith★★★★★
We arrived at the restaurant just before closing time, and despite the late hour, the staff was incredibly attentive and provided excellent service. The food was absolutely delicious, and I decided to try the Parillada. This dish was a delightful combination featuring a large, flavorful prawn and two different kinds of fish, each cooked to perfection. The sides were equally impressive, with the mashed potatoes being absolutely outstanding—I would rate them an 11 out of 10. The tomatoes were a perfect complement, adding a fresh and tangy touch to the meal. Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience, even so close to closing.
Małgorzata Dąbrowska★☆☆☆☆
Be careful once you sit there you’re obliged to order one full meal per person with a fine of 25€ per each person who doesn’t order a meal and on top of that if someone from your party orders only a starter there’s a fine of 10€ per person. We sat for a glass of wine and a starter to share and got scammed into eating a full not so tasty meal! I really do not recommend this place. Try place next door it was way nicer there.

Good fresh food and a pleasant lunch. They also recommended this AMAZING scallop risotto. I'm not a fan of scallops, but that was a different experience! Utterly delicious. Would definitely go back.

The seafood was delicious, with reasonable prices and a great wine selection. The service, however, could have been more polite and welcoming. There was no waiting time for a table, which was a plus. Overall, it was a good experience, although the restroom was in very poor condition and clearly not properly cleaned.

Mussels were a tad sour. Portions are small. We had a pot of mussels, tuna, 6 oysters and 2 glasses of Chablis. Our bill came out to €103. Am sure we can get better food with that price
Karen King-Yan Cheung★★★★★
A great place if you love delicate, well‑prepared seafood. The seafood platter here is very fresh, especially the oysters. The grilled octopus was a big surprise — tender, tasty, and cooked perfectly. Prices are very reasonable and even a bit cheaper than the big restaurants just 10 meters away on the main street and the seaside.
Edward Wesp★★★☆☆
Although the starter and dessert were excellent, the main course left quite a bit to be desired. We began with the seafood platter, which was incredibly fresh and full of flavour — a definite highlight. Unfortunately, the gambas we had as a main were overcooked and rubbery. The accompanying vegetables also lacked seasoning and the overall dish felt quite bland. Thankfully, the dessert made up for it — it was rich, flavourful, and beautifully presented. Despite being located on a touristy side street, the staff were genuinely welcoming and very friendly throughout our visit. Overall, this seems like one of those restaurants where, if you know what to order, you can have a great experience. You just need some experience or a bit of luck.
Mahsa Moghaddas★★★★☆
We ordered the sea bass and the sea bream. The plates were beautifully presented and colorful with grilled vegetables, but the fish, while fresh, were small and contained many bones. I would have preferred a more generous portion of actual fish meat. Offering fillets as an option might be a better choice.

Excellent food and great service from the waiters, who were attentive and friendly throughout our meal. The restaurant is a bit expensive, but the quality of the food makes it worthwhile. Unfortunately, our experience started on a negative note. The hostess was quite rude and insisted, in a dismissive tone, that we didn’t have a reservation and that there were no available tables. A few moments later, a gentleman stepped in, kindly offered to set up a table for us, and solved the situation immediately. His professionalism completely changed our first impression. Overall, the food and service at the table were excellent, but the welcome from the hostess could definitely be improved.

Everything was perfect. Great with kids as well. They give Bocce balls to them if you ask and they can play Bocce while you eat at the park next to the outside seating area. Must eats are; anchovies, calamari and profiteroles.

We have revisited this place many times, and every time we can't stop talking about how amazing it is. First of all, the atmosphere and energy are marvelous. The beautiful piazza enhances the entire dining experience, and the excellent and friendly staff always recommend dishes that never disappoint. If you are planning your visit to Fred, make sure to order the calamari. With a pure heart, I can say that these are the best calamari we've ever had worldwide, even after experiencing many top restaurants. The fish is always fresh and deliciously prepared, and the wine is delightful as well. All dishes are made with top-quality, fresh, and local products, which adds even more to the positive overall experience. I would definitely recommend this place for dinner with family, friends, a date night, or any other occasion. Impeccable food with an amazing atmosphere and excellent, top-tier staff.

I didnt enjoy the stay very much for a couple of reasons: > there was not enough staff. Thus the waitress was stressed, forgot orders and we had to wait long > it was very loud. (Music and drunk guests) > the food was not great. I had oysters and the boef with fries. The fries were over fried. The sauce it came with was very sour. > But the worst thing is, that I got sick the next day and infected my whole families in the following days which indicates a virus food poisoning. Of course I cannot guarantee that I got infected in the restaurant but the chain of events makes it very plausible. The location is beautiful though and the service was friendly.

a little thing can turn a vacation into a problem. we ate oysters in this restaurant every day. and today the guys turned my vacation into a problem when they brought an extra container of oil to the oysters. but it turned out not to be oil, but homemade mayonnaise. not a typical sauce for oysters. mayonnaise contains mustard, to which I have a strong allergy. the waiter did not warn about the change in the composition of the dish. Now I have to take medication and endure the manifestations of the allergy until they pass.

We went to this restaurant on the first day of our trip, and had the dishes of the day - the half-cooked tuna tartare and octopus with creamy risotto. We had it with rosé (prunelle), and finished it with crème brulée. It was so good that we can back on our last day!

This is such a gorgeous restaurant with amazing food and lovely staff. I had the duck a l’orange which was sublime. All in all I thought the price was also reasonable: £40 for my main, 2 small glasses of pinot noir, an afogato to finish and free bread and olives. I also had a great chat with a lovely young waiter called Yousef who made me feel right at home despite not speaking French. I’ll definitely be returning! Merci!

With this French restaurant, we found a place in Cannes with excellent food at unbelievably low prices for the quality of the dishes served, the location and the service (special thanks go to Yous, who kindly and elegantly presented the various dishes to us). I also wanted to compliment you for the perfect cooking of every single dish (Italian opinion)

Le Caveau 30 is my favorite restaurant. I’ve been coming here for the past three years, at least three times every time I’m on vacation. I highly recommend the €38 menu, the food is excellent in terms of price, portion size, and flavor. Make sure you come with an empty stomach because the portions are very generous! I always order the oysters as a starter , they are absolutely delicious here. Overall, the dishes and the staff are outstanding. I honestly don’t understand why the Google rating is only 4.1. they definitely deserve more!
Anca Vieriu★★★★☆
Beautiful restaurant in Cannes with absolutely stunning views from the first-floor seating area — definitely one of the highlights of the experience. The atmosphere felt very classic and authentically French, and the service was warm and welcoming. I had the sea bass with green beans. The fish was well cooked and fresh, though the food overall felt a little too traditional for my personal taste. The vegetables could have been more vibrant and refined. Overall, a lovely place for the setting, views, and atmosphere.
Joanna Jreidini★★★★★
We had a wonderful experience. The restaurant was clean, the atmosphere was lovely, and the service was attentive and friendly. I ordered the salmon, and it was absolutely delicious—fresh, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor. Everything we had was excellent, and we really enjoyed our meal. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Renie Fallucca★★★★★
Beautiful restaurant. Extremely busy. This restaurant offers a variety of seafood and steak options. Portions are ample and presented beautifully. Paella was a disappointment. Very dry and not seasoned properly. Service was good, extremely busy. Overall, it was a good experience. Will I return? Not likely, as much as I enjoyed the experience, it wasn't spectacular.
Dalia Racine★★★★★
We came with a large group to this venue and had a chance to try numerous dishes. While the pace was true to French dining, the dishes came out in a decent amount of time. All brought different dynamic to the meal. For starters we tried the tomatoes and buratta (which met the standard and was good), salmon tartar (which was tasty), and the truffle ravioli (which was delicious with just the right hint of truffle). For our entrees we had the duck and fries (these were some of the best fries we’ve had so far in France and the duck had good flavor) and the sea bass (which was a light and satisfying meal). To finish we sampled a variety of options and all of them were delicious.

A fantastic lunch spot in Cannes, especially if you’re entertaining friends from Dubai or abroad. The bouillabaisse is simply outstanding, easily one of the best I’ve had on the French Riviera. The service is warm, attentive, and genuinely professional, making the whole experience feel effortless. The beach is beautiful and well maintained. It’s on the smaller side, but that actually adds to its charm and exclusivity. The atmosphere is relaxed, elegant, and perfect for a long seaside lunch. A couple of minor points: depending on your table, the sunshade doesn’t always provide full coverage throughout lunch, and smoking is still allowed on the terrace, which can occasionally affect the experience for non-smokers. That said, the quality of the food, the exceptional service, and the beachfront setting make this a place I would happily return to and recommend to anyone looking for a memorable lunch in Cannes.

Really lovely place! We were warmly welcomed with our 4 month old and enjoyed a delightful lunch, and can recommend both the sole frite and langoustine pasta. Perfect location to escape the sun on hot beach days for a long lunch or a sunset dinner. Excellent service from everyone, especially Axel who took good care of us. In the higher price range, but value for money. We will be sure to visit again in September!

We had an amazing evening at Marea. From the moment we arrived, the reception was very warm and friendly, and we were immediately guided to our table. The food was absolutely excellent — especially the beetroot hummus, the fish, and the truffle taglierini. Every dish was full of flavour and just delicious. The wine and cocktails were outstanding as well. The service was attentive and genuinely kind throughout the entire evening. The view and overall atmosphere were easily 10/10. We’ll definitely be coming back! Thank you 🥰

Marea was a beautiful experience. The views are gorgeous, the ambiance is really nice, and the food was very tasty. Service was also good and attentive without feeling rushed. What we really appreciated is that they don’t push you to leave once you’re done eating, so you can relax, enjoy the atmosphere, and take in the view. It does get very full though, so I would definitely recommend booking in advance. A great spot for a nice meal.

Had a wonderful dinner at Marea. We had a great table with a view overlooking the pier and ocean. We enjoyed watching the boats come in and out and “parking”. Very friendly and attentive staff. We had the fish dishes and it was well seasoned and tasty. Wine selection also very good. The restaurant is in the covered part and the bar is outside. Reservations recommended. Marea is a great restaurant offering beautiful views and great service and food to match.

Very beautiful restaurant with a lovely view over Cannes — the location is truly unbeatable. However, I felt the value for money was not quite right. My truffle pasta arrived lukewarm and was not seasoned enough. The entrecôte, however, was excellent, and they kindly cooked vegetables without salt for our child for €7, which we appreciated. What surprised us was that a glass of wine cost €28, while the bottle price was €90. This was not communicated transparently and simply did not feel quite right. In total, we paid around €150 without starters or dessert. Although the location is wonderful, we probably would not return for dinner — perhaps only for cocktails.

Staying at the Canopy as a Diamond member, we did cocktails two of the nights at Marea. Great service, views, ambiance, vibe and scene with DJ’s spinning deep, lounge and jazzy house. Must try!

This restaurant is amazing! The food is super delicious and very clean. Honestly, it’s the best seafood restaurant I’ve tried in all of France. Number one beach club and restaurant in Cannes , quality food , people so much helpful with smiled face , place is so chick and classy , prices is normal in comparison of similar place , recommend 100% thank you to all team from reservation to end of the day. ❤️❤️ Come back soon Miramar Plage

After comparing the menus of adjacent clubs we choose the Miramar Plage because they had a more comprehensive menu for everybody. We were walk in’s wout reservation which was no issue - although later on this beach club was full. Even when the restaurant was full the service remained attentive and friendly, it was fantastic. Our plates were so good, perfectly prepared, portions ample, and we noticed that everything that came out of the kitchens looked stunning. Our highlights were the Argentine beef and the Soufle, both were exceptional. Compliments to the team. We had rose champagne and a delicious white burgundy to accompany our meal. They were both so very good. We will be back !!

The venue’s perfect location is completely undermined by the staff’s rudeness and laziness. We came for a coffee, and when we mentioned that the seat cushions were wet, the waiter responded angrily, giving us an explanation about some kind of storm. After that, the same waiter ignored us when we tried to call him over—he just sat there looking at his phone and paid no attention to us. Absolutely not recommended.

This restaurant was average in almost every way. The food was a mixed experience. For example, the pâté was simply inedible. The fish soup was extremely diluted and lacked depth of flavor—I would describe it as "Muddy water." The rest of our meal was decent and we finished everything, but overall I'd rate the food somewhere between 3 and 4 stars. Everything tasted fresh, but most dishes were missing that special flavor that makes you want to come back. For a table of six (including three children), we paid around €240, so we expected a bit more. On the positive side, the menu is available in several languages, and the staff were friendly and reasonably attentive. Overall, it wasn't a bad experience, but it wasn't memorable either. Personally, I wouldn't choose to have dinner here again.

We were there on our wedding anniversary to cap off a wonderful day—and spoiler alert: it was simply fantastic!!! The service was professional, friendly, and attentive, with staff capable in both English and German. In addition to the exquisite menu, we were offered three special recommendations of the day. The appetizers and main courses were perfect: the fish soup and the terrine were pleasantly fresh, and the meat (medium) in the main courses was cooked to perfection. Afterward, we enjoyed a glass of spirits for dessert and pleasant conversation. What a wonderful evening! Thanks to the whole team!

We went to this restaurant not once, but it was so great, we went twice. We had the pleasure of being looked after my Mico, who did the most wonderful job. Excellent service, friendly staff and rapt good food. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Cannes.

The Entrecôte steak looked promising when it arrived, but unfortunately, the experience went downhill fast. I ordered it medium, but it came out nearly raw—far from what was expected. The meat was tough, difficult to cut, and even harder to chew, which completely took away from the enjoyment. What started as an appetizing dish quickly turned into a sad and disappointing meal. Definitely not the quality or preparation I was hoping for. Wine was good.

We went for dinner and the atmosphere was amazing specially if you went before sunset. The service was excellent but they need to add more waiters (I think there was only 1 waiter setving and someone else helping him). The food was very good specially the octopus. Pain perdue and cookie for dessert a must try but order it in advance because it takes time.

The location is excellent, especially if you can snag a seat near the surf — the atmosphere is undeniably charming. Service is decent, nothing to complain about. As for the food… perhaps we hit an off night. The lamb arrived as three nearly pure chunks of fat — disappointing, to say the least. Luckily, the bread saved the day. Fresh, warm, and absolutely delicious. Pro tip: Skip the lamb and go straight for the bread — it's the safest bet on the menu.

We held a small gathering before our daughter’s wedding at Alba Plage, and everything was wonderful. The staff was pleasant, attentive, and very helpful throughout the event. Frédérique and Gregory were especially helpful. The setup was beautifully arranged and completed right on time, making the occasion stress-free and enjoyable. We truly appreciated their professionalism and hospitality. We would definitely recommend Alba Plage for any special event or celebration. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

5* place and 15€ for sunbeds which is reasonable compared to other places. Food and service was outstanding.

Absolutely underrated beach club. During my initial research it showed up on zero of my internet searches or on sunbeds, but we happened to be walking around town and walked past and thought we would check it out. 100% cannot recommend enough. In the off season (May) we paid €20 for a bed for about 7 hours and the food was absolutely phenomenal. Expensive (What Isn't in Cannes), but phenomenal. The staff were attentive, funny and very much matched the vibe. If we wanted to be left alone - they left us alone. If we wanted to joke around, they stayed and chatted. Awesome place.

The attitude of the staff members is really bad and no one shows nice customer service. One of the male staff members kept on sigh’ing and rolling his eyes when we talked to him. He did not speak english either so he couldent really understand us well. The food that we ordered was not good. I ordered a burger and the meat was raw, clearly not cooked well enough. Atmosphere was nice and calm, the seats could be more comfortable. I will not visit again.

The best place in the area! much nicer than any other beach restaurant in Cannes, here you get amazing service and the most beautiful food. The team is also fabulous, Sacha looked after us the whole day like we was a member of the family! Lovely young man working so hard, takes pride in his job and makes sure everyone on the sand has the best time! Thank you very much Sacha, wish you all the best!! see you very soon!!

First, the positives. The location and overall concept are interesting. The cocktails and steak tartare were delicious, and while the chocolate dessert was not quite what we expected, our child enjoyed the sorbet and was happy with it. Now, regarding the service. I still find it difficult to get used to restaurants that require guests to order a minimum number of dishes depending on the seating arrangement (although I understand the reasoning behind it). However, in this restaurant, the staff made me feel like a second-class customer. It is obvious that guests with reservations are given priority, and that’s understandable, but there is no need to make it so apparent. To begin with, it was strange that only one waiter was taking food orders. We had to wait quite a while for him to come to our table, apparently because we were last in line. Fine — he eventually took our order. But then he went to complain to the manager that we had ordered only one dish. The manager then came over to explain the restaurant’s rules to us and, as he put it, “forgave” us for the first time and allowed us to stay. The staff also seemed eager to clear away our cutlery as quickly as possible. The most uncomfortable moment came when a large group arrived and the manager was trying to find seats for them. He pointed at our table and quite obviously told them that they could take it as soon as it became available. After that, members of the group kept looking over at us, apparently waiting for us to finish and leave. It is disappointing that what could otherwise be a pleasant establishment chooses to take advantage of its popularity and treat guests differently depending on their perceived value. Needless to say, I will not be returning.

Classic dishes done to perfection. We stopped here on the last day of our trip, which made for a great send-off. Staff was friendly and let us sit down 15 minutes before they actually opened. We had a well-marinated chicken, juicy and tender, as well as a nice steak tartare, very crispy fries, and a glass of red wine. Oh, and of course, the entire time you’re sitting right by the ocean. What’s not to love? 😊
Madison Plummer★★★★☆
This place was right outside our apartment so we came here a few times. The food was good and the location couldn’t be better. However the service was not friendly and you get very little for your money. For breakfast there is only one option, which is a homemade croissant, scrambled eggs, watermelon, juice, and a hot drink for €12. Every time I asked a question or needed anything the staff seemed annoyed, but the croissant was amazing.

Excellent restaurant with surprisingly amazing sushi! Fresh fish, beautiful presentation, and fantastic flavors. The ambiance was stylish and lively, and the service was attentive throughout the evening. Highly recommend for a special dinner in Cannes.

Large and lively restaurant with atmosphere🥳 The food was simply average and not particularly memorable. Unfortunately, the main course was served already cold. The desserts were also rather disappointing. In my opinion, this is a place to visit with a large group for the atmosphere and the social scene.

They need to make it much clearer online when making reservations that the outdoor seating isn’t available as an option. The atmosphere inside is hardly as vibrant or enjoyable as it is outside. This place is incredibly pretentious - the ladies standing outside asking for reservations are quite rude and appear to be looking down at you. One lady in particular was quite condescending when I asked why we were inside. That isn’t clear whatsoever on the website bookings and I think they know that and use it to their advantage. That being said the food is very good, if you order the right things it’s not too expensive. The cockerel was super delicious and juicy. So was the catch of the day. Definitely recommend sharing Le Cookie with ice cream and caramel for dessert !! Overall it’s nice and definitely worth a visit, but just know it might not be all it seems as it is online / social media.
MV★★☆☆☆
What a disappointment. This place was hyped up everywhere, so I decided to give it a shot. Huge mistake. To be fair, the vibe and service are nice—very fancy. But the food... We ordered the catch of the day to share, and it was full of bones. It was practically inedible. It came with a side of puree, and I ordered a salad to go with it. The portions are micro-sized. The salad in the photo is literally the size of my fist and costs 40 euros. The tiny fish we shared (and barely ate due to the bones) was 90 euros. We spent 180 euros total for two people and left absolutely starving! Do not recommend at all. If you want to check it out because it's trendy, just grab a drink and go. The food is awful, expensive, and the portions are ridiculous. Never again

La Mome is a serious and amazing restaurant where the high society of Canned can be seen having a fabulous time for dinner! Service is fantastic as is the menu and food! The speed and elegance of service and many delicious meals makes this place that serves over 500 people every night truly amazing and impressive! Watch the staff glide around taking care of each table as diners arrive dressed to impress! The restaurant is also located on the beach and is a must to visit and in London and Monte Carlo! Value? Well this is Cannes and at the top end!! Enjoy and book well in advance!!

I chose this place because the paella looked delicious in the photo. The paella was full of seafood and quite tasty. The calamari was also good. They got my order pretty quickly and the servers were all friendly and polite. The location was great for a break and a glass of wine for lunch. The outdoor table space is also quite spacious.

I ordered moules frites and roughly 40% of the mussles were still closed and not edible. The waitress offered me a free dessert. I chose the creme brulee. The crust was nicely warm but the Creme beneath it was cold like it just came out of the fridge. Went to McDonald’s right after to clear my pallete. The service was fine, but I can’t explain what happend in the kitchen. Maybe the chef was asleep

We took a chance on this unassuming little restaurant and did not regret it. We had the oysters, mussels gratinés, sole meunière and paella. All were delicious! Our waiter was extremely helpful and gave us excellent personalised service. Our best meal in France so far! From two satisfied Aussies.

A jewel of the Cannes Coast. Amazing Staff who are well informed and friendly. The seafood options are excellent and fresh. Outdoor seating is lovely and a good atmosphere. Tips for Choosing a Great Seafood Restaurant in Cannes

Navigating Cannes’ dining scene can feel overwhelming, especially when every menu promises the freshest fish and the most romantic terrace. A little local knowledge goes a long way in separating genuine quality from tourist-driven mediocrity. The following tips are designed to help you dine with confidence, avoid common pitfalls, and ensure that every euro spent is reflected in the quality of your meal.

Follow the daily catch, not the static menu. The best seafood restaurants in Cannes often present a hand-written menu or a verbal list of today’s arrivals. If a menu looks laminated and unchanged for months, the seafood is likely frozen or imported. Ask your server what arrived this morning. A kitchen that proudly names its fishmonger or the specific boat that landed the catch is a kitchen you can trust.

Embrace the lunchtime formulas. Many of Cannes’ finest restaurants, including those with Michelin stars, offer exceptional value at midday. A fixed-price lunch menu allows you to experience top-tier cooking at a fraction of the dinner cost. You will often get two or three courses, sometimes with a glass of wine included. It is the smartest way to sample a high-end kitchen without the high-end bill.

Look beyond the Croisette. The famous boulevard offers undeniable glamour, but its prime real estate often commands inflated prices for food that can be inconsistent. Venture into the narrow streets of Le Suquet, the old quarter, or the quieter squares behind the port. Here you will find family-run bistros and neighborhood favorites where the focus is squarely on the plate rather than the postcard view.

Be wary of “tourist menu” seafood platters. A towering plateau de fruits de mer looks spectacular, but the quality can vary wildly. Ask what is included and where it was sourced. A truly excellent platter should feature briny oysters, sweet langoustines, and periwinkles, served simply with rye bread and mignonette. If the price seems too good to be true for a massive display, the shellfish may be previously frozen or of lower grade.

Respect the rhythm of French dining hours. Lunch is typically served from noon to 2 p.m., and dinner rarely begins before 7:30 p.m. Many kitchens close between these hours. Arriving at 6 p.m. for dinner will often leave you with a limited bar menu or a closed door. Booking a table for 8 p.m. or later places you among locals and allows you to experience the true, leisurely pace of a Cannes evening.

Ask for the wine pairing from Provence. While white Burgundy and Chablis are classic partners for seafood, do not overlook the local rosés and crisp whites from nearby Cassis or Bellet. A chilled Bandol rosé or a mineral-driven Rolle can elevate a simple grilled fish beautifully. Let the sommelier guide you toward a bottle that speaks of the same limestone and sea air as the food on your plate.

Dining well in Cannes is not about spending the most money or being seen at the right table. It is about paying attention to the details: the quality of the olive oil, the temperature of the fish, the knowledge of the staff, and the honesty of the cooking. When those elements align, a simple meal becomes a memory that lingers long after the last sip of wine.

The true luxury of Cannes lies in its abundance of excellent seafood, available at every level of the dining spectrum. Whether you choose a breezy terrace overlooking the islands or a hidden bistro tucked behind the market, the Mediterranean will be your host. Trust your instincts, ask questions, and above all, take your time. The sea has been generous to this coastline, and the restaurants that honor that generosity are waiting to welcome you.
