The area surrounding the Catedral de Sevilla is the beating heart of the Andalusian capital. Between the grandeur of the Giralda and the winding alleys of Santa Cruz, the rhythm of the city is fueled by a deep love for coffee. Whether you are starting your day before visiting the Real Alcázar or taking a break from the Andalusian sun, finding the right café is essential.
Seville’s coffee culture has evolved rapidly in recent years. While traditional spots still serve the classic café con leche and torrijas, a new wave of specialty roasters has taken root. This blend of old-world charm and modern brewing techniques gives visitors an exciting variety of choices.
The historic center can be overwhelming for tourists, with many establishments catering to quick turnover rather than quality. It is easy to fall into a tourist trap if you do not know where the locals go. To truly experience the city, you need to step slightly off the main plaza and into the neighborhoods.
This guide focuses on quality, atmosphere, and proximity to the Cathedral. We have walked these streets to find the places that offer the perfect balance of flavor and Sevillian ambiance. From tiny holes in the wall to elegant patios, there is a seat for every type of traveler.
You do not need to be a coffee expert to appreciate a well-pulled shot or a perfectly frothed milk. However, knowing where to find these cups will save you time and money. This list aims to keep you close to the main sights without sacrificing the authenticity of your experience.
We have considered factors such as bean sourcing, barista skill, and the comfort of the space. Whether you need a quiet corner to plan your itinerary or a bustling bar to people-watch, the options below have you covered. Each selection offers something unique that represents the spirit of Seville.
Let this be your roadmap to the best caffeine fixes in the shadow of the world’s largest Gothic cathedral. Here are the top spots you should not miss.

Such a good cafe, highly recommended. Ended up going here 4-6 times over 3 days because their coffee is SO GOOD! Lovely area to catch up, have a drink and meet new people as well. The staff was kind enough to share some exotic funky beans they had and it was experimental and so unique ♥️

One of the best specialty coffee shops I’ve ever visited.
The quality of the beans is exceptional, and you can truly tell how much knowledge and care the team puts into every cup. The baristas are incredibly skilled, and even a simple espresso is made with such precision and attention to detail that you can really taste the quality of the coffee.
What I especially love about MUY COFFEE is their deep understanding and appreciation of specialty coffee. Every visit feels like a chance to experience coffee at its best.
I honestly found myself looking forward to waking up every morning because I knew I was going to start my day here. MUY COFFEE became one of the highlights of my time in Seville, and I’m so grateful I found this place. Highly recommended for anyone who truly loves great coffee. 한국인 분들 그냥 묻고 따지지 말고 이쪽으로 오세요 세비야를 통틀어서 스페인 전체에서 여기가 제일 맛있는 거 같애요. 산미있는 에스프레소 ..최고

My favorite coffee shop in the area. It has a relaxed, laid-back vibe, a friendly owner and team, and genuinely delicious coffee.
The space is small, but it’s been used really well, with a casual, thoughtful setup. They also play great music, which adds to the atmosphere.
Prices are very reasonable, and they even sell their own coffee beans.

Went twice during my quick stay. Had a batch brew that was dialed in—delicate with floral notes and a some fruity vibes! Came back for a cappuccino and it was delicious. They take their coffee seriously and combined with the great vibes and friendly service I would definitely recommend this. It is an authentic specialty coffee shop that anyone into coffee would appreciate.

Awesome coffeeshop! Had a great V60, and a Flat white. The owners were super nice, and very friendly! Made steamed milk for our daughter who really liked it as well. Would very much recommend if you're into speciality coffee.

Excellent specialty coffee in the heart of Seville. The cortado was perfectly balanced. Friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere, and a great place to start the day before exploring the city. Highly recommended!

If the coffee is good, the coffee is good. And here the coffee is good.
From an experienced coffee consumer, I enjoyed my coffee here very much. I’ve drank coffee from all over the world.
The milk here nicely frothed. Taste is very good.
Order to your taste preferences. Big or small, which milk, how many shots. Whatever suits you.
They also have many different kinds of pastries, cookies and cakes. I have not tried them yet, but they all look great.
Also the woman who was working was very kind, and helpful. Great service!

Slightly slow service, but the quality of the matcha made it worth the wait. It was a vibrant green, smooth, and made without sweeteners. We also heard the coffee is excellent.

If there any more stars, I’d give them!
Fantastic service and a great hidden gem, that if you didn’t see people walk around with the cups, you wouldn’t know it’s there.
We went back every day!
Service was brilliant and great English speaking staff!
Thanks again

Very nice speciality coffee, cozy place and perfect service. I come here quite often to enjoy the drinks as much as a conversation with Mouad (the barista)!

Recommended to myself and my partner by our tattoo artist (shout out Carmen @ Haus of Tattoo), and so worth it! It’s a cute little spot with only 2 chairs, but every time we’ve been, we’ve been able to sit and chat with each other and with Rebecca behind the bar. They have bags of beans you can buy and they’ll grind them up for you if you like. Excellent, kind service. Not sure if anyone else besides Rebecca works there but she has quickly become a highlight of our time in Sevilla. Highly recommend 🙂
Peter M. H.★★★☆☆
So hot: can't touch this. - The place varies quite a bit in quality or: Consistency is not found due to a volatility in professionalism. As always, I order the Cappuchino (3€ , normal size, Jan 2026) for a reasonable price.
Food quality:
One time the coffee is well balanced and the flavor is pretty good but with the typical Coffee-sweetness of many small roasters. The other day the milk is so hot that you can't touch the paper cup - and it is undrinkable hot. Sorry, but this place can't be recommended.
The Armosphere is rated 2 because there is a busy road in front and inside no where to sit. Thus: not a place to sit quietly and enjoy spending a relaxed time.
Overall: Next please.

We’re in Seville for 3 nights and came across Café Nina — such a lovely find! The staff were incredibly friendly, and the food was fresh and hot. I tried an empanada for the first time and instantly fell in love with the flaky, delicious texture. The Nina Latte was also a cute twist with a hint of banana flavour. Absolutely love this spot! The smoothies are delicious and super refreshing, the sandwiches are made perfectly, and the açai bowls are fresh, flavorful, and beautifully put together. Everything on the menu feels thoughtfully crafted and consistently tasty.
The atmosphere is just as good as the food. It is decorated with cute indoor boho vibes with wooden plates, glass straws, and little aesthetic touches that make every dish feel special. They really care about the details.
On top of it all, the staff is friendly and welcoming, which makes the whole experience even better. Definitely a go-to place if you’re looking for great food and a cozy, feel-good vibe.

Jester is a must visit - we went to this specific location but I'm sure they're all of similar great quality.
If you wish to dine in, check upstairs first for a seat before ordering as you want to avoid ordering and then realising there are none!
The acai bowl is absolutely spot on - my favourite one in seville. The granola was one of the nicest I've ever had!
Coffee was great too!

Peter M. H.★★★☆☆
This coffee was at most acceptable however, I personally will not return. I ordered a large Cappuchino for 3,80 € (Jan. 2026) - easily a rather elevated price but one notices that this place get frequented by tourist who look for "something special" and don't mind paying higher prices. However, the Coffee tasted quite watery like flavoured brown water with good temperatured milk foam. Nothing more and nothing less.....there are many more places in Sevilla with better coffee and a better value for money.
Vancy★★★★★
The cappuccino was flavorful and full-bodied. It’s a tiny cafe, mainly focused on to-go orders.
Since it’s sometimes not easy to find great coffee places in Seville, this spot is a real gem.
Anyone who truly loves really good coffee should definitely visit this place!

Great strong coffee! Got the iced latte. No flavors available though
Kiki Leahy★★★☆☆
Similar experience to other reviews- for the price, the quality was not there. The coffee I was served was over extracted and watery. For the price and specialty vibe, I would have expected higher quality tuning of the beans from the barista. Fine if you don’t really care about coffee…

LATE it is a coffee bar located not far away by alameda de hercules. The location it is tiny, fashionable and nice. The interior it is designed followed the minimalistic and freshly new yorker coffee bar style. The coffee it is well made it and one of the best tried in Sevilla. The service side sadly it is the least convincing part based on my experience. I can describe the service that I experienced like a little bit unfriendly and détachée. The Late’s it is a nice coffee bar but although If the service side was not satisfied I consider the LATE’s coffee bar a good place where to do a breakfast or a quick coffee break.
Christian Breitkreutz★★★★★
A cool coffee shop serving sandwiches and pastries, with solid coffee to match. It also works well as a spot to get some work done.
The vibe is very hip and youthful, with a mix of locals and tourists. Staff felt a bit moody at times - though it might just be part of the place’s character.

Good coffee places ! Recommend!
WIFI 🛜 which is very rare in Spain in restaurants/ cafes . I love the cafe the carrot 🥕 cake was dry . The coffee is lovely
Anna Yanaeva★★★★★
As a coffee lover, checked out dozens of places around Sevilla and this is by far the best. It checks all the boxes: coffee is amazing, smooth and creamy. Food is great for a satisfying breakfast/brunch (jamon sandwich is to die for, avocado&feta is fresh and a great combo with fried almonds, chocolate cookie is not overly sweet and very flavorful).
Last but not least: service is very friendly and efficient. It is a fairly small place, but I never had a problem finding a spot. Tables are cleaned in between guests (which is not always the case on other places). 10/10.
YAFEA ALYAFEI★★★★★
I had the pleasure of enjoying some delightful specialty coffee in Seville! The location was simply perfect, just a short 3-minute stroll from my hotel. The service was impressively quick, and I found the prices to be quite reasonable. I must say, the iced latte was absolutely delicious!
Tips for Enjoying Coffee Near the Cathedral
Understanding the local coffee customs will significantly enhance your experience near the Catedral de Sevilla. While the venues listed above are welcoming to visitors, adapting to the local rhythm will help you blend in and get better service. Here is a quick guide to navigating the Sevillian coffee scene like a pro.
Know Your Order
Spanish coffee terminology differs from the standard Italian or American terms you might be used to. If you want a small, strong coffee with a little milk, ask for a cortado. For a standard coffee with plenty of milk, order a café con leche. If you prefer an espresso, simply ask for a solo. Knowing these terms helps the barista serve you exactly what you want.
Embrace the Bar Experience
In many traditional spots, there are two prices: one for sitting on the terrace and one for standing at the bar. If you are on a budget or in a hurry, drink your coffee standing at the counter like the locals do. It is often significantly cheaper and gives you a front-row seat to the barista’s craft.
Timing is Everything
The area around the Cathedral gets extremely crowded between 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM. For a quieter experience, visit the specialty coffee shops right when they open, usually around 9:00 AM. If you want to experience a traditional café without the rush, go during the late afternoon before the evening tapas rush begins.
Pair It with a Pastry
Coffee in Seville is rarely consumed alone. Look for local pastries like tostada con tomate (toast with crushed tomato and olive oil) for breakfast or a slice of tarta de queso (cheesecake) later in the day. Many of the best roasters also bake their own goods in-house, making the pairing half the fun.
Ask for Local Beans
If you are in a specialty shop, ask if they roast their own beans or use a local roaster. Seville has a growing community of independent roasters who source high-quality beans. Buying a bag to take home is often cheaper than buying imported brands and serves as a delicious souvenir.
Skip the Ice
If you order an café con hielo (iced coffee), you will usually be served a hot espresso with a separate glass of ice. Pour the hot coffee over the ice yourself and stir. This is the traditional way to cool down and prevents the barista from watering down your drink with too much ice.
The coffee scene around the Catedral de Sevilla is as rich and layered as the history of the building itself. Whether you choose a modern specialty brew or a classic torrefacto roast in a century-old bar, you are participating in a daily ritual that defines the city. Taking the time to sit and savor a cup here is not just a break; it is a cultural experience.
As you continue your journey through the narrow streets, let the aroma of freshly ground beans guide you. The perfect cup is often found just around the corner from the main tourist thoroughfares. Enjoy the atmosphere, take your time, and let Seville’s coffee culture fuel your adventures.
