12 Best Bakeries Near Parque de María Luisa

After a morning spent wandering beneath the orange trees and shaded promenades of Parque de María Luisa, few pleasures compare to the scent of freshly baked bread or the first bite of a perfectly laminated croissant. Seville’s most beloved green space is not only a haven for strollers and cyclists but also a gateway to some of the city’s finest artisanal baking.

The surrounding neighborhoods, from the historic Barrio de Santa Cruz to the vibrant El Porvenir district, are quietly undergoing a bakery renaissance. Here, time-honored Spanish techniques meet contemporary European influences, resulting in a pastry scene that rewards both traditionalists and adventurous eaters.

Whether you need a quick breakfast before visiting Plaza de España or a leisurely merienda after exploring the park’s hidden fountains, the options are surprisingly diverse. You will find everything from rustic sourdough loaves and delicate French viennoiserie to convent-made sweets and gluten-free indulgences.

Navigating the sheer number of panaderías and pastelerías can be overwhelming, especially when you are on foot and hungry. Quality varies significantly, and the difference between a mass-produced baguette and a slow-fermented loaf is substantial.

This guide focuses on establishments that prioritize quality ingredients, proper fermentation, and genuine craftsmanship. We have considered consistency, local reputation, and proximity to the park to help you find the perfect bite without straying too far from the gardens.

Each bakery listed below offers something unique, whether it is a signature pastry, an exceptional coffee pairing, or a warm, welcoming atmosphere. You can trust that these are not just tourist stops, but places where Sevillanos themselves queue up on Sunday mornings.

Before we reveal the specific spots you should visit, it is worth understanding what makes Seville’s bakery culture so special in this particular area. The blend of residential life and tourist traffic creates a competitive environment where only bakeries with genuine quality survive.

Panypiu is a very pleasant spot for breakfast or a light meal. The coffee is excellent, and both the croissant and the sandwich are fresh and tasty, making for a satisfying combination. Overall, it’s a simple but high-quality place that works well for a relaxed start to the day in Seville.
Hebe Harris★★★★★
Bakery with delicious and varied food options. We tried the focaccia, pistachio croissant, milk bun and apricot pastry and all were perfect, as was the coffee

Found this place thanks to Google reviews. What a wonderful cafe bakery. First visit to Seville and this cafe and the staff are friendly and helpful. Supportive to you learning Spanish but also speak in English if you get stuck. We weren’t exactly sure of how to get served at first but approached the counter to wait. A couple of times we were missed but I honestly think that was down to us speaking to each other - so we weren’t interrupted. As soon as we stood with purpose and engaged, made eye contact with staff, we were served. The food we ordered was wonderful, I had the spinach quiche and OH MY WORD! Out of this world, I’m pretty convinced there was goats cheese in it. Whatever cheese it was it was lush and the texture of the warmed quiche with the salad and balsamic was spot on. Cappuccino for me. Appletiser and bagel with ham cheese and rocket for my partner. He loved it too. Highly recommended. The interior and atmosphere is also very calming and welcoming. One thing I also love is the thought to add hooks under the table for your belongings. Wish more places in the UK thought to do this. Facilities include - fully accessible toilet, baby changing space in there and I spotted a highchair too. Everyone is welcome.
Alexander Slipchenko★★★★★
Pretty decent experience overall. Good breakfast options, a lot of nice pastry. English breakfast good, but on a small side of scale. Cards are accepted. In the morning can be pretty hectic - queue is rather unorganized and seating places are pretty scarce.

Panypiu - Bread and much more The best bakery in Seville! I’ve been trying many croissants almost 4 weeks in Seville. Among nice bakeries in the city, I found this place as my number one because it has more than just pan 🙂 My favorites were the croissant and pain au chocolat. They are crispy outside, moist inside from enough butter. For me, the chocolate in pain au chocolat was also rich and just right. And the price is reasonable, the size is very generous. The staffs are so patient and warm- hearted even when it’s too busy which is always. They are focused on what they should serve. I think the team works very efficiently. I admire their work. I already became a repeat customer here. My breakfast time here was the happiest time during my stay in Seville 🙂 I hope all best to everyone who works here. 👍

My favourite cafe in Sevilla! All the drinks and cakes are delicious, the atmosphere is great and the prices are better than my home in the UK. I went here several times during my Erasmus semester and I can't recommend it enough. The only problem is the cafe is so popular that sometimes there aren't enough seats, but at least they do takeaway and online orders too!

Really nice store. Loved the different types of matcha they have. The sweeties were good especially the red velvet one. Staff is really friendly and helpful, especially the blonde girl.

Absolutely lovely staff, and the most delicious matcha I’ve had in Seville! 🍵The sweeties are beyond addictive and the cakes dreamy!✨ I’ve moved cities now and am already missing this gorgeous cafe as it has been my daily spot for months. A special thanks in particular to Lourdes, Irene and Oscar for making me feel so welcome and making everything with love 🧡

Sweet Bakery is an absolute gem in the heart of Sevilla! I tried their cheesecake – actually three different kinds – and every single one was rich, fresh, and incredibly delicious. The pastries were just as amazing, perfectly baked, flavorful, and clearly made with high-quality ingredients. The desserts were not overly sweet, just the right balance, and each bite felt like pure comfort. The atmosphere is lovely and welcoming, and you can tell there’s real passion behind the baking here. If you’re a cheesecake or pastry lover, this place is a must-visit. Highly recommended – I’ll definitely be coming back for more!

I placed an order with sweet bakery at viapol branch. As I was visiting from London, I placed the order through Instagram messenger and they were very helpful and accommodating to my requests. My son really enjoyed the cake and added detail of rainbow colours . I would highly recommend anyone visiting Seville to try the place. Thank you for making my son’s birthday celebration extra special❤️

Bakeries in Spain often disappoint me with their bland, dry, and super sweet pastries, but this one is a gem! The chocolate strawberry cake I had was really good! It has layers of flavors, not too sweet, and the taste of fresh strawberries along with the chocolate really worked well. I wish they have a branch in Malaga.

I got their cake as a birthday present, and it was delicious! As far as I know it was pre ordered through their website and also included pretty candles 🙂

I really enjoy the desserts here. The sweetness is subtle and balanced, and the texture is incredibly smooth. It practically melts in your mouth. Amazing!

We ordered an amazing cake! Can highly recommend
Marijana Bengin★★☆☆☆
For a specialty cakes and sweets shop, I was honestly disappointed. The cakes don’t seem homemade, they look more like store-bought sponge layers with fillings that may or may not be made in-house. There was only one cake that appeared homemade, which I chose, and that’s the only reason I’m giving two stars.

Best pastries we tried in Seville. Had the raspberry mascarpone croissant, pan Suisse, chocolate covered hazelnut croissant and pistachio caracol. Beautiful all of them. Will happily return. And the shopkeeper was very affable and helpful.
Liam Corrigan★★★★★
In our top 5 globally. Try the local custard it's delicious with cinnamon and star anise but perfectly balanced so nothing overpowers. We came 2 days in a row and none of the cakes disappointed. Would heartily recommend.
Abdul Aziz Al-Amin★★★★★
Pastries were quite delicious, had the pistachio and raspberry croissants. Service was too notch very helpful and friendly people there. Highly recommended.

Dulcería Manu Jara was a lovely find and definitely worth the stop. I ordered the pain au chocolat and the pain suisse. The pain au chocolat was my favourite, buttery, flaky, and rich without being overly sweet. The owner was very kind and attentive, which made the visit feel even more personal. I picked up my pastries to go and later paired them with a double cortado from another spot nearby. Everything tasted incredibly fresh and you can really tell they use quality ingredients. The bakery itself is beautifully decorated, with a high-end display of pastries that shows off their craftsmanship. Just note there is no seating, so it’s more of a takeaway place. This spot is well known in Seville and you can tell it’s earned its reputation. Others rave about their desserts and the overall experience and I have to agree. If you’re in the Triana neighborhood and want something sweet and authentic, this is a must visit.
Liz Bissonnette★★★★★
Wonderful service and the tastiest pastries. I enjoyed the Pan de Pistachio among others.

El Torno is a tiny little gem tucked away inside Plaza del Cabildo—the commercial gallery right in the heart of Sevilla's city center. Don't let the small size deceive you though, because their pastries are absolutely delicious! They have a few different flavors to choose from, but we went for the almond with lemon one—which happens to be their most popular—and it was incredible! The combination of flavors was just perfect, and you can tell they put a lot of care into what they make. If you're passing through Plaza del Cabildo, do yourself a favor and stop by. It's the perfect little treat to enjoy while exploring the city center. Highly recommended! 🥐🍋
Julie Casanova★★★★★
A really warm welcome by the man in the shop, who was so patient with my broken Spanish and gave us recommendations. We ordered little cakes that had the best texture and flavour in the world! Marzipan like but not too sweet, soft on the inside, delicious!

Loved this little shop! The person at the counter was lovely with a great big smile. I appreciate that she seemed genuinely interested in helping us. I got one box as a gift and the large assorted box for us to enjoy while in Seville... That was two days ago and we're already finished...! I believe most of them had an almond paste-type center, which I really enjoyed. A bonus of visiting the shop is the beautiful courtyard that surrounds it. Both are a must visit! Edit: yes, that was me! I don't think Google map users want to see a phot of me 😉

If you are looking for flaky croissant, this is not the place. It’s more like bread and it was dry. Staff was not friendly, unwelcoming, and touching his facial hair. There was also construction inside, it started as I was eating. You will smell it! I wouldn’t recommend this place. Hope this will improve…

I have been this bakery yesterday and today, and I highly recommend it. The croissants are delicious, both original one and pistachio one. And the staff here are so nice, I especially wanna thank for Lola for her heartwarming service. Yesterday I didn’t pay successfully in the first time, but she told me don’t worry and kindly treat me ^^ I feel so moved by staff here.

I had a fantastic experience here! The cakes were absolutely delicious and the coffee was perfect. What impressed me the most was the portion sizes—they are very generous and offer excellent value for the price. The atmosphere is wonderful, making it a great place to relax, and the service was also very good. Everything we tried was high quality and satisfying. I highly recommend visiting if you’re looking for great treats and a lovely environment.
Canberk Özbaykuş★★★★★
We absolutely loved our breakfast here! The mollete toast was perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside — simple yet full of flavor. The croissants were outstanding, rich with the aroma of real butter and baked to perfection. But the real star was the pistachio croissant — flaky, creamy, and truly unforgettable. Everything tasted fresh and homemade, and you can tell great care goes into every detail. A must-visit spot in Seville for anyone who loves good pastry and bread! 🥐✨
Fatih Turan★☆☆☆☆
The staff were very rude. They looked tired of the tourists. But they shouldn't forget that they make their money from tourists. They need to be more friendly and respectful. The tables outside were very dirty. Why did you paint the inside of the pistachio croissant green?? We had ordered takeaway, but when the child got tired, we thought it wouldn't be a problem to sit at the dirty tables outside for a short while. A rude woman warned us in a rude tone, "You ordered takeaway, you can't sit here." When I said we could pay if there was a fee, she continued muttering, turned around, and walked away.

One of the best pastry shops we’ve ever visited! We tried several cakes and pastries on our first day, and they were so fresh and delicious that we immediately returned the next day to buy more. In fact, we will probably go back again tonight, making it three visits in just two days. Every pastry has been full of flavor and clearly homemade with care. We are only in Seville for a week, so we don’t know how other pastry shops compare, but if we lived here, this would definitely become our go-to place for sweets. Highly recommended!
Jo Crease★★★★★
Great range of pastries, cakes and chocolates in this beautiful little place round the corner from our apartment. We had the pestinos which were honestly the most delicious pastry I've ever eaten. Sweet and light flaky pastry with a hint of creamy filling dusted with icing sugar, and the perfect size to be satisfying. I wish I'd gone there on my first day rather than my last!
Joseph Yasmeh★★★★★
Carmela de nata was perfect. A lightly sweet bread filled with cream. Turquesa San Lorenzo was too sweet, even for me. But giving 5 stars to balance out overly negative reviews.
Polina Osipova★★★★★
Wonderful fresh pastries! Loved the bonbon chocolate cake and assorted cookies sold by weight (minimum 100g, 1/4kg for 9euro - may 2023). Open on Labor day! Very friendly staff!
Bruna Dota Carvalho★★★★★
We liked their pastries so mix we came back right away to try different things. They offer so many different kinds of pastries that it was hard to choose from. We got chocolate truffles, cakes, and breads. The place is small but they made room to showcase their pastries and give you tons to choose from. We wish they had a sampler tray so we could pick and choose different things in smaller sizes so we can try as much as possible. The server was kind and smiled the whole time she was serving us, I really enjoyed chatting with her. I’d recommend this place as a quick desert stop.

Best croissant in the world! It’s an absolute must and having tried croissants all over the world, it is Seville that is home to the best one yet. I’m sorry Paris, but this one steals the crown! Other pastries and cakes were just ok, nothing special.
Paul Rîmpu★★★★★
Bomba de Naranja was really good, but Tocino de Cielo was way too sweet and it has too much taste of egg (normal thing since it's made mostly of egg yolks, but I didn't know about it). If taste of only egg yolks and a ton of sugar are something you don't have any problem with, you can give it a try. Anyway, for €3 each I ain't even mad I couldn't finish the Tocino.
Simona Ferro★★★★☆
The pastries are excellent, but what makes this place even more special is the incredibly kind staff. A magical place to visit for an afternoon snack.

Probably the best cafe in Seville, my second visit to this outlet in another branch. Smoothie was delicious and reasonably priced. Sandwiches and lunches are also fairly priced. I had a slice custardy filled sponge cake covered in chocolate, which they display in the window and looked delicious. I would encourage you to skip it. The chocolate glaze was waxy, thin tasting as opposed to a ganache. The filling didn’t have any flavor (vanilla, almond, orange…) and the sponge cake also was super bland. I think flavor or richness in any one of those element might have saved it. It looks way better than it tastes. On the plus side, it’s not too sweet, it’s not expensive, service was good, and the shop is adorable — but it’s still not worth the money or the calories in my opinion. Take a picture of the delicious looking window display and move on. Or maybe try something else? The tocino del cielo looked promising… I can’t speak to the bread or any other desserts. It was busy so they must be doing something right.

This is a bakery or a bakery-like place (not sure but there was a lot of bread displayed in the front windows so we went in). My wife and I grabbed a couple of croissant and one Cana (pronounced Cagna). The time was 10:30 AM and these items were old and stale! A bakery that sells baked goods are selling old unsold stuff, what the heck? I'm sure they must be doing better elsewhere, otherwise, I can't understand the positive reviews posted here!
Nata Lie★★☆☆☆
With such high reviews I went here expecting an exceptional bakery. It was below average. Most baked goods were prepackaged. The bread looked and tasted ok, nothing special, no crispy crust, but at least it wasn't dry. Not a lot of choice either, just white or whole wheat bread in different sizes.

I was in Seville for vacation I discover Las Doncellas bakery, the Regañas, the bread and Inés Rosales Tortas the best I ever try in a long time everything fresh, crunchy and good flavor. I highly recommend if you go to Seville don’t missed it, if you love fresh bread!!!!

Essential Tips for Visiting Bakeries Near the Park

To make the most of your culinary exploration around Parque de María Luisa, it helps to understand the local rhythm and customs. The following advice will ensure you arrive at the right time, order like a local, and avoid the common pitfalls that many visitors encounter when seeking out the best baked goods in Seville.

1. Respect the Spanish schedule.
Unlike Northern Europe or North America, breakfast in Seville is often a lighter affair, but bakeries open early to serve coffee and tostadas. However, many artisanal bakeries may close for a few hours in the afternoon (siesta) and reopen in the early evening. Do not assume a bakery will be open at 4:00 PM; check their hours and plan your visit for mid-morning or early evening.

2. Know the difference between a panadería and a pastelería.
While many modern spots blur the lines, traditional panaderías focus on bread, whereas pastelerías specialize in sweets and cakes. If you are looking for a sourdough loaf to take back to your hotel, seek out a panadería. If you want a delicate tart or a slice of cake to enjoy on a bench in the park, a pastelería is your best bet.

3. Do not skip the savory options.
While croissants and sweet pastries are tempting, the savory offerings in Seville are equally impressive. Look for empanadas, mini quiches, or savory palmiers. These are excellent for a light picnic lunch inside Parque de María Luisa, allowing you to enjoy the scenery while eating something substantial.

4. Order a café con leche to complete the experience.
Most quality bakeries in this area take their coffee as seriously as their dough. A well-made café con leche or cortado is the perfect complement to a sweet pastry. Standing at the bar for your coffee and pastry is often cheaper than sitting at a table, and it gives you a chance to watch the bakers at work.

5. Bring cash for smaller establishments.
While most modern bakeries accept credit cards, a few family-run, traditional spots may still operate on a cash-only basis or have a minimum card spend. To avoid missing out on a classic pastry from a historic shop, keep a €10 or €20 note in your pocket.

6. Ask about the "especialidad de la casa."
Every good bakery has a signature item. Rather than defaulting to a standard croissant, ask the staff what they are known for.
