12 Best Restaurants Near Casa de Campo

Finding a great meal near Casa de Campo is about more than just satisfying hunger. This expansive green lung on Madrid’s western edge is a destination for sports, leisure, and luxury, but the surrounding neighborhoods hold a vibrant culinary scene waiting to be explored. Whether you are finishing a round of golf, attending a trade fair, or simply taking a break from the city center, the nearby districts of Moncloa, Latina, and the area along the Manzanares River offer diverse dining options.

The challenge for visitors is often navigating the contrast between the tourist-focused establishments inside the park and the authentic local eateries just a short walk away. While the park itself offers basic refreshments, the real gastronomic treasures require stepping just outside its boundaries. From traditional Castilian stews to innovative fusion cuisine, the area caters to every palate and budget.

Understanding the geography is key to a successful dining experience. Casa de Campo is vast, but its primary access points—such as the Lago, the Teleférico station, and the Puerta del Ángel—connect directly to residential neighborhoods. These areas are where locals live and eat, meaning the quality of food is high, and the prices are often more reasonable than in the central tourist zones.

Our curated selection focuses on restaurants that offer not only excellent food but also a genuine sense of place. We have prioritized establishments known for their consistency, hospitality, and connection to Spanish culinary traditions. You will find options ranging from rustic taverns serving slow-cooked meats to modern spaces perfect for a business lunch or a family gathering.

This guide is designed to save you time and prevent the disappointment of a mediocre meal after a long day of exploring. We have considered accessibility from the park’s main gates, ensuring that each recommendation is a realistic walking distance or a very short drive away. The goal is to provide practical, reliable choices that enhance your overall experience of this unique part of Madrid.

Whether you are craving seafood, a hearty steak, or vegetarian-friendly tapas, the area surrounding Casa de Campo delivers. The following list represents the best of the best, selected for their standout dishes and their ability to provide a memorable dining experience away from the crowds. Each entry offers something unique, ensuring that your meal is as enjoyable as your time spent in the park.

Below is our expert selection of the top dining destinations near Casa de Campo, presented to help you choose the perfect spot for your next meal.

We had a wonderful family meal here to celebrate a 60th birthday. Great waitress who accompanied all the needs of two young grandchildren as well as those of the parents and grandparents. We ordered the signature steaks and were not disappointed !
Ben Roberts★★★★★
This was my 6th time dining at El Urogallo. It's always a pleasure, my wife and I make a point of bringing our relatives here when they visit from overseas. Great location and good food. José, our server, was very kind.
Duarte Pinto★★★★☆
Very pleasant atmosphere that really elevates the overall experience. The food is quite reasonable, nothing exceptional, but consistent. Average spend is around €40–50 per person. Definitely worth it for the location
Elad Nachman★★★★☆
Good food but the service is indifferent. Four waitress until they could locate my reservation, got two dirty spoons, etc...

Beautiful lake view restaurant! Rice with Pork, tuna salad, and grilled octopus and grilled beef is great! Family and friends will love this place!
Will C.★★★★★
The food was surprisingly good. The risotto, the ensalada mixta, chipirones were really good. The settings are nice and we all enjoyed our lunch very much.
Alan Barr★★★★★
Great location on the edge of Casa de Campo by the lake. Waiters are friendly and attentive however please note that they do not speak English. It is not an issue but be prepared. Food was excellent - we tried the risotto with mushroom, the black Angus burger and the chicken strips with BBQ sauce. Probably the best BBQ sauce I have ever tasted. I would highly recommend this spot.
Kofta Chalau (Koftachalau)★☆☆☆☆
We had a table outside, which was nice and the view was great but that's it to be honest. Ordered a steak medium but it came well done. The waiter brought a second steak which was then rare, so he rolled his eyes when I asked again for my medium steak. In the end the waiter brought me again a steak well done and burned... In the end the waiter charged us also 5 times bread but never brought us bread. He took the bread of the bill but left the over cooked steak on their. Not a great experience and wouldn't recommend the place.
Paul Eddy★★★★★
We went to see Casa de Campo without a plan as to where to eat. We went to La Taberna El Urogallo as we felt it was for us. We sat outside and enjoyed the great views, the birds, outstanding service and most importantly the food. The waiter immediately brought us a complimentary plate heaped with a salad of potatoes, tomatoes, peppers, tuna and olive oil. It was so good that we decided to add it to our menu the next time we entertain our friends. I had the Pulpito a la Parilla, the most tender, tasty octopus I have had here in our month in Madrid. My partner had the Lubina a la Espalda, very fresh and flavourful accompanied with great tasting sliced / lightly fried potatoes. The whole sea bass had been halved and the bones removed, nice touch! Thanks to Oscar and the staff for a great, memorable meal!

What a fantastic experience! The lakeside setting is absolutely beautiful, and the food matched the view. We enjoyed excellent grilled specialties, attentive service, and a relaxed atmosphere that made us want to stay for hours. If you're visiting Madrid and want a memorable meal away from the busy city center, Villa Verbena is well worth the visit. We'll definitely be back.

Fantastic spot for a relaxed lunch with family & friends! Went here for a bachelorette with my friends and it was the best idea. The food is amazing (fresh sea bass, nice steak, and grilled pulpo) The roasted pineapple w coconut ice cream was also the highlight of the meal! Enjoyed the lunch overlooking the lake of Casa de Campo 🥳

I took my mom out for her birthday while in our trip to Madrid last week . The atmosphere was sublime. The croquetas and salads were delicious, however when it came to the main dish Galician Octopus … it brought a bunch of flies!! We were in the Terrance and it wasn’t busy just two other tables, and when we told the waiter why so many flies came , he said “ well the food attracts the flies” and we proceeded to rush thru our meal so we didn’t get flies in it. Such an expensive meal to be ruined by swarming flies.
Monica Randriamialy★★★★★
Outstanding! Delicious, European dishes and creative vegetarian option. A bit pricy, but totally worth it for a romantic dining experience or a fancy brunch with friends and family.
Juan Martin Maglione★★★★☆
We visited Villa Verbena in November 2021 with my wife and had an amazing experience. We ordered a couple of very good and tasty courses. I highly recommend to order the “Tacos de Cochinilillo” and the “Albondigas de carne de caza menor”. Both were excellent! A lot of flavor and personality! Strong tasted and very well executed!

Came on a solo trip to check the lake out and get a bite. Karina, who served me is hard working and was beyond excellent. Cooked my lamb chops just how I like it. Excellent location and very good service. Will be my regular spot every time I come here. Thank you Karina and the chef!

I stopped here for a beer in the sun and it was perfect! The location is ideal for a stop when walking through the park. It has beautiful scenery, speedy service, and a tasty beer snack.
Steve Cliffe★★★★★
I had the grilled Sole here for lunch on a Sunday and it was perfectly cooked and came with a generous size salad and baked potato. The restaurant has a large outdoor seating area next to the lake.
Kamal K Sirra★★★★☆
This restaurant is situated in Casa de campo (near metro Lago). A nice outdoor place with a beautiful view of the lake and a pleasant atmosphere in summer days. The staff was attentive and friendly and the service was quiet fast. The dishes were delicious and I’d recommend the traditional Spanish dishes such as calamari, Lacón (pork), Spanish omelette and typical Galician style octopus dish as starters. For the main dish we’d rice with scarlet shrimps. For desserts we had cheese & chocolate cakes which were awesome. They served us liquor shots on the house. I’d recommend this place to all types occasions for families, friends and groups.
I-Hsuan Liu★☆☆☆☆
DON’T COME HERE. 🤬🤬The service is horrible and staffs are not attentive. We were sitting right in the middle of the terrace and they kept us waiting for more than 20 minutes; We also found that some of the other tables that came after us were being served and there were complaints of wrong orders. I’d motioned the customer staffs to come and take our order couple of times, they glanced at us and pretended they didn’t see us. If they are busy and apologetic, understandable. But, they just look annoyed that we should have waited. Overall, if you want to go home pissed, shorten your life, or basically find the right excuse to punch someone, you can give it a shot. 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡

100% does what it says. Does it well. Job done. Chicken? Thank you. Something to drink with that? Done. Room for some cheesecake? Of course. Thank you. A place to go solo, with a group, any time of day. Looks unchanged and yet unaffected. Chicken is spot on. Russian salad with fantastic. I still dream of their cheesecake.
Pablo Velasco★★★★★
The best chicken in Madrid. Great real Spanish appetizers and awesome apple cider to accompany your dish! A great and solid option if seeking a tasty Spanish meal.
Ricardo Borges de Carvalho★★★★☆
They don't take reservations so be prepared to wait between 30 minutes to one hour on the weekends. But as soon as you are seated, the food will be on your table in 5 minutes. The chicken is very good and always being cooked, so you practically don't wait to be served.
Rafael★★★★★
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Dining at Casa Mingo is a true Madrid tradition. Simple, authentic, and absolutely delicious. Their famous roast chicken is perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside, seasoned just right without needing anything extra. It’s the kind of flavor that reminds you that great food doesn’t have to be complicated to be extraordinary. And the cider? Outstanding. Fresh, cold, and poured the traditional way, it pairs beautifully with the chicken and elevates the entire experience. There’s something special about sitting in that lively, historic atmosphere with a glass of sidra in hand. The energy, the aroma of the wood-roasted chicken, the sound of glasses and conversation, Casa Mingo captures the spirit of Madrid in the most honest and delicious way. If you want authentic food, incredible cider, and a place filled with character, this is it. Classic. Unpretentious. Memorable.
Julia Vitullo-Martin★★★★☆
Casa Mingo basically only serves whole roast chicken—and it’s great. Service not so great. It gets crowded so best to go off-peak.

A very beautiful restaurant , we sat outside , the heaters were on and the temperature was very well controlled . The staff serving us , were extremely professional and helped us out with the English menu and even some recommendations. I ordered the Goat Cheese Salad , which I thoroughly enjoyed with a glass of chilled beer. After our dinner we were also served , Spanish schnapps compliments from the restaurant.

Great experience, good food and friendly staff. Special thanks to our wonderful waiter Alberto 👍 … Everything how Madrid should be 😉
Arne Pingel★★★★★
Very honest place: you get what you expected! Great food, Alberto as a waiter who tries to speak English, and the atmosphere of the local neighbourhood! Would we come again? Yes!
K K.★★★★☆
Octopus with Boiled Potato 18 € ★★★★☆ The octopus is incredibly tender—clearly boiled without salt to keep it soft. The potatoes are nicely salted, balancing the overall flavor. The olive oil has a pleasant chili kick and pairs beautifully with the bread. Rosé Wine 3.7 € ★★★★★ Refreshing and perfectly chilled. Great value for the price. It was a bit hard to communicate with the waiters in English, but they were reasonably friendly. The atmosphere inside was excellent.

I had lunch here on my second day in Madrid. While the restaurant itself was clean and had a nice atmosphere, the service left a terrible impression. Two of us ordered four dishes, and the staff automatically placed the order for the largest size for all of them, completely failing to mention that there were different sizes. We only figured out what happened after seeing the huge portions served to our table. Of course, they charged us the most expensive price for the large sizes. As for the food, it wasn’t bad, but it wasn't particularly delicious either. For a table of just two people, a proper server should have recommended smaller portions or at least explained the menu sizes. There was zero guidance. Honestly, if the service had been fine, I might have come back. But because of this dishonest and careless service, I have absolutely no desire to return. The price itself wasn't the issue, but paying that amount for this level of food and service for two people felt like a total rip-off.

Lavender Looi★☆☆☆☆
I rarely leave one-star reviews, but this experience was genuinely frustrating. The first thing that stood out was the lack of customer care. There is no table service during breakfast, so customers have to carry their own trays. While we were there, an elderly lady was clearly struggling to carry hers and nearly dropped it. Rather than helping her, a staff member continued placing more items onto her already unstable tray. In the end, our friend stepped in to help her carry her tray to her table, which was inside the restaurant just few steps away from the bar, while the staff just stood by. Watching that happen left a very poor impression. Unfortunately, our own experience wasn’t any better. I had come here specifically for the frappelatte, which is advertised on the sign outside the restaurant. At around 10:45, after waiting in a very long queue, I was told they couldn’t serve it until 12:00 because breakfast was still being served. Fair enough. I ordered a café con leche instead and sat by the lake to enjoy the view while I waited. I returned shortly after 12:00, waited in the queue all over again, and could clearly see the frappelatte machine prepared and ready to serve. However, when it was finally my turn, I was once again told that I couldn’t order one because breakfast was still in progress and that they only start serving frappelattes after 12:00. Apparently, 12:15 still counts as before 12:00. At that point, the explanation made no sense. If the drink is advertised, the machine is ready, and customers are specifically told to return after a certain time, they should be able to order it when they do exactly that. This wasn’t about not getting a drink. It was about witnessing a lack of care for customers, receiving contradictory information, waiting in two separate long queues, and ultimately being refused service without a reasonable explanation. Based on our experience, I wouldn’t return or recommend this restaurant.
mh3mh0★★★★★
What a wonderful place in Madrid! It is a lovely spot to share with friends. The food and staff service were really good, and you can also walk around near the lake. The price was fair enough.
Tom★★★★★
Very chill spot on the lake. Cold beer and good food. Relaxing atmosphere. Beautiful view. The Burgers are awesome. I love how you get chips and olives with your glass of beer.
Jevgenijs Jesilevskis★★☆☆☆
Very bad service. They forgot our fish. Waited for almost an hour, the waiters didn’t even apologize. While they clearly forgot it. Then we asked to open a parasol because the sun was very bright. The waitress made such an unhappy face and tried to tell us this is not possible, while other parasols were open. In the end, we just changed the table. And again, no apologies, nothing. It is the face expression of the waiters and the reaction to basic questions that was so disgusting. Yes, I know this is Spain, but not everyone in Spain is like this. Honestly, not often that you come across such bad service in Madrid. Just disgusting.
Grace Bian★★★★☆
The portion of food was huge. Even the food from children menu. I hate to waste food, but I have never seen that much of spaghetti in my life before. I hope the management could consider about this matter. Anyway, the waitress was very lovely, I ordered food for myself and my kids first, while my husband was still on his way to the restaurant. When my kids almost finished their starter, I ordered the steak. The waitress found her manager told me that the steak was too much for me, I then explained that the steak was for my husband. Then they said it’s ok for a man. But, the moment we saw the steak, I knew my husband couldn’t finish the whole thing. It’s big enough for two men. Overall, whole meal was quite expensive, and it’s shame we didn’t enjoyed them that much.

Great little family run gem in the centre of Campoverde. Delicious food and good wine. Very reasonable prices and brilliant for party's 🥳🍾🥂

Our favourite restaurant in Campoverde which we love coming to when visiting our parents who live here. Service, especially from Danny, is always excellent demonstrating a passion for the food served. Food is excellent home cooking and today we enjoyed an Armenian bbq sharing platter which was outstanding. The desserts are sublime! Our party of 5 plus 1 6 month old and our German Shorthaired Pointer dog were all made very welcome, comfortable and every need catered for - including serving some soft cooked vegetables for the baby. Can’t recommend highly enough!!

From the outside, the cafe, especially at night, looks very nice and modern, but when you enter, you are greeted by uncomfortable chairs and a not so modernly decorated space that is quite wide. The coffee is bad, the cakes are average and somehow artificial in taste. They have no tea at all.

Found a hair in the paella. And when I took it to the management, they denied. Fought with me for a good 5 minutes. And to top it all, they blamed me that I might have put the hair in my own food!! Imagine!! Even though the food was covered when they got it us at the outdoor seating, they said either it was US or the WIND that put the hair in the paella. Horrendous service and horrendous food. Please don't come here, there's not even a view of the rio.

Great place! The restaurant is beautifully decorated, the service is excellent, and the food is absolutely delicious. We had the spaghetti bolognese and the burger, and both were fantastic. The fries that came with the burger were incredible!!!!Seriously, how do they make them? They were one of the best fries I've ever had! Highly recommend!

Pros: Nice staff + Tasty starters Cons: We asked for well done steak and got raw steak!
Michelle Mauser★★★★☆
Food for me was 4.5 but it’s not available, the croquetas were delicious but a bit too salty. Dessert was perfect and so were the drinks, so refreshing and good price. They also include little snacks with your drinks which is always a good thing. Service was a little bit slow sometimes but also the restaurant was full that day so I think it could be normal.

The food was excellent! The meat was fantastic, tender and smooth with the right amount of spicing and temp, which we could regulate with the grill. The chops were decent too and the sides what you could expect! You can sit looking to the lake and feel the breeze of the summer air alongside the sun seeping through the leaves around the tarp. Overall, I’d say this is a 100% worth paying a visit, and the pictures of the food speak for themselves!

I went with my partner and his family and had a beautiful evening! Amazing view by the lake away from all the other busy restaurants. The food was amazing especially the cod bites. The service was great aswell, super friendly. We will be back! Gracias 😊

Terrible! DONT EAT HERE! Worst Hamburger and Worst Steak tarter I ever ate! Never try this place! But service is good!
Ángel Orosa Rodríguez★☆☆☆☆
The environment is great since you can eat outside near the lake if the temperature is good. The staff otherwise is not as nice, one of them was cool but the rest are not. The food not really good either... by the way, be aware 1l beer jar is 13 euros!!! We had to ask four times for the bill and at the end it had many errors in the drinks and in the amount of food we ordered... Not a serious place, not recommendable...
Росен Димитров★☆☆☆☆
The service was 0 stars. The waiters didn't speak a word of english and generally they were not talkative and seemed upset. They also added bread into the bill, which was on the table but we did not order it. The food was let's say ok.

Ana is such a talented chef. The food is wonderful and Menu del dia is incredible value. Previously we have had the leg of lamb (pre order 24 hours before) and it is superb, arriving with lots of veggies too. We have been several times now and we'll be back again.

This place is amazing. The food is always freshly cooked and delicious. The menu del dia is great value for money at 9€. Fresh beautiful salad served with hot bread rolls and what tastes like home made alioli. Excellent choice of starters, Main courses and deserts. The service is always good even though they can be very busy.

This restaurant was a real traditional reliable quality Spanish experience. Good starters, better to ask for meats, and delicious deserts. The service was old fashion, professional and attentive. I love the cider (and the dispenser). I trust most restaurants that show you their meats, fish and vegetables in a shop window. You can actually walk the waiters there and tell them what is what you want (like that ugly monkfish looking at us or that prime rib!). This was my second time there with my old friend Luis.
Catherine Choi★★★★★
We just dropped by and found an amazing restaurant unexpectedly. We ordered grilled cuttlefish and roasted suckling pig. The waiters were very polite and nice, and kindly helped us to share the dishes. Best cuttlefish I've ever tried. The pig had crispy skin and juicy meat. It was a pity that we were too full and unable to try their dessert. Highly recommended!

The food was very tasty, great options and Menú del Día very reasonable. The service was an experience in of itself -- friendly, fast, efficient and with added "free" appetizers and after lunch shot of liquor. Definitely worth saving as a favorite spot to eat...great location close to Principe Pio Shopping Center, next to RENFE train station 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

This was a very enjoyable and lucky find in a neighbourhood that doesn’t really attract tourists. The food is good, decently priced, and served with a smile. The clams and the monkfish were both done well.

I highly recommend this restaurant! The food was superb. We ordered the cochinillo and it was excellent, it had great flavor and it was perfectly cooked. The service was great too. The servers knew when to check in and all their recommendations from the menu were top notch. The restaurant is very clean and the ambiance is great for a nice dinner. Overall, great experience!

Tips for Dining Near Casa de Campo

Navigating the dining scene near a major park requires a bit of local insight to ensure you have the best possible experience. The area around Casa de Campo is a mix of residential calm and tourist activity, which means timing, reservations, and menu choices can significantly impact your meal. The following tips are designed to help you eat like a local, avoid common pitfalls, and make the most of the diverse culinary offerings in this western part of Madrid.

Plan around the park’s schedule. If you are dining immediately before or after a concert at the Madrid Arena or a match at the Vicente Calderón area, restaurants fill up quickly. Aim to eat slightly earlier or later than the standard Spanish rush (2:00 PM for lunch, 9:30 PM for dinner) to secure a table without a long wait.

Embrace the “Menú del Día” at lunch. Many of the traditional restaurants in the Latina and Puerta del Ángel neighborhoods offer an exceptional fixed-price lunch menu on weekdays. This is the most economical way to enjoy a three-course meal with wine and bread, often featuring the restaurant’s best home-style cooking.

Check for terrace availability. During the spring and summer months, dining outdoors is a priority for many visitors. If you want a table on a terrace, especially one with views of the park or the river, you must call ahead and specifically request an outdoor table. These seats are the first to be reserved.

Don’t overlook the bars for tapas. Some of the best food near Casa de Campo is served not in formal dining rooms but at the bar. Ordering a caña (small beer) or a glass of wine often comes with a complimentary tapa, or you can order a few media raciones (half portions) to share. This is a more casual and authentic way to sample local flavors.

Consider your post-meal transport. Casa de Campo is large, and walking back through the park after a heavy meal can be tiring. If you are dining in the northern part near Moncloa, use the Metro or a taxi to return to your accommodation rather than attempting a long, uphill walk. Planning your route in advance will make your dining experience more relaxing.

The neighborhoods surrounding Casa de Campo are a testament to Madrid’s enduring culinary identity, where family-run taverns sit alongside ambitious new kitchens. Taking the time to venture just a few blocks from the park’s edge rewards you with meals that are rich in flavor and tradition, often at a fraction of the cost you would pay in the city’s more tourist-heavy zones.

Whether you end your day with a plate of perfectly grilled seafood or a slow-braised stew, the right restaurant can turn a simple visit to the park into a full-day experience. Use this guide as your starting point, but don’t be afraid to wander down a side street and discover your own favorite spot in this dynamic part of Madrid.
