Knowing where to find a reliable pharmacy can make all the difference when you are traveling or living abroad. Whether you are dealing with a sudden headache, sunburn, or a more urgent medical need, access to medication and professional advice is essential. In Ibiza Town, the pharmacy network is robust, but hours and locations can vary significantly depending on the season.
Navigating the healthcare system in a foreign country often starts with understanding the local pharmacy culture. In Spain, pharmacies (farmacias) are highly regulated and serve as the first point of contact for minor ailments. The staff are usually multilingual, especially in tourist hubs like Ibiza, making it easier to get the help you need without language barriers.
This guide is designed to help you locate the most accessible and reputable pharmacies in the capital of the island. We have focused on central locations, extended hours, and services that cater to international visitors. While many stores close for siesta, pharmacies often rotate shifts to ensure coverage.
Understanding the "Farmacia de Guardia" (on-call pharmacy) system is vital for late-night emergencies. If you need medication after standard closing times, you must locate the designated duty pharmacy. Information on which pharmacy is on duty is usually posted on the door of every closed pharmacy or available online.
Below, you will find a curated list of essential pharmacies in the heart of Ibiza Town. These establishments are known for their professional service and stock of both local and international brands. Keep this list handy on your phone so you can quickly find assistance whenever you need it.
Whether you need prescription refills, baby formula, or high-SPF sunscreen, these locations offer comprehensive solutions. It is always wise to check current operating hours before heading out, as they can shift between the summer and winter schedules. Let’s explore the most convenient options available to you.

Expensive but great products. You will probably find what you’re looking for
Shahad Al-Abbasi★☆☆☆☆
I went to buy eye drops and was told the price was 20 euros. However, when I paid with my watch, it was 28.67 euros. My husband confirmed she said 20 euros, but I became suspicious because it took her about three minutes with many clicks to get the price. So, I went to two other pharmacies on the same street, and both had eye drops for 19.99 euros. I returned to the first pharmacy and asked the same lady to return the sealed eye drops, but she refused. I explained that it wasn’t a refrigerated medicine and that pharmacies in the EU, including Germany where I live, accept returns. She still refused. I told her the other pharmacies were about 30% cheaper, but she insisted that was their price and refused to refund me. I'm really disappointed with this pharmacy 👎. People in the medical field should be trustworthy.

I give it 4 stars for the cleanliness, quick prescription refill, and quality of products however the pharmacist I dealt with was rude.

Unfriendly guy behind the counter. Doesn’t even take the time to say hello, thanks or goodbye. They charge twice the price for toothpaste compared to the regular supermarket.

I go there with a sore throat and ask for strepsils type lozenges, the women tells me to trust her strepsils do t so anything I ll be better off with a product called espididol, which I thought would be a conbination of paracetamol and a decongestant like panadol cold and flu. she insist quite strongly and sells me the espididol, which is plain and simple ibuprofen, which I CANT take and would have done absolutely nothing for my sore throat and cold. Kind of disturbing.

Prices more that twice more expensive that in the pharmacy 20 meters away from this one. A lot for things in stock absent.

Horrible. I bought some over-the-counter medication, but they gave me the wrong dose.
I realized it and went back after about three minutes.
They told me they couldn't exchange it, that by law products aren't refundable. I hadn't even opened the box...
With so many pharmacies in Ibiza, especially on that street, I don't recommend this place. I would never go back and I would tell everyone not to go there!
Bad service, zero empathy.

We received excellent medical assistance during a medical emergency. Since we don't speak Spanish, the staff called an ambulance for us and warmly cared for us in the air-conditioned interior until help arrived.

I was scammed. On Monday, August 3, 2026, I was charged €24.43 for a tube of Parodontax toothpaste and a pair of tweezers; and I wasn't given a receipt. At the time, the price seemed odd, but since they don't display prices on anything on the shelves, I had no reference point. Now, seeing what those items cost elsewhere, I've realized I was charged more than double what I should have been.
Paula Arias★☆☆☆☆
Yesterday I went to this pharmacy to buy eclipse glasses. They told me they cost €10 and that, for that item only, it wasn't possible to pay by card because, they said, it was "something external to the pharmacy." When I asked for a receipt or proof of purchase, they replied that they couldn't provide one and that "everyone was doing it this way." Given this situation, I decided not to make the purchase, as it didn't inspire the confidence I expect from a healthcare establishment. As I left, I read other customers' reviews and thought I should have checked them before going. Everyone can draw their own conclusions, but personally, I found the experience unprofessional and lacking in transparency.
Beatriz Juan★☆☆☆☆
This is completely outrageous. They're selling my father a very strong medication without the required prescription. We've already asked them not to give it to him again, but they're not doing anything about it. We're going to have to report them to the pharmacists' association.
Rober C. Álvarez★☆☆☆☆
These prices are outrageous. Then they wonder why they're losing customers. The same cream is half the price at other stores. If you can go somewhere else, go.

Dina Noussair★☆☆☆☆
I am a 20-year-old intern currently staying in Ibiza. I recently developed a severe sinus infection and was clearly unwell when I came to this pharmacy.
I had just had a video consultation with my French doctor, who issued a prescription and sent it to me by email. The email was dated the same day, less than an hour before I arrived at the pharmacy. I showed the pharmacist the prescription, my identification, and my European Health Insurance Card. I even offered to have my doctor send the prescription directly to the pharmacy’s email address if additional verification was needed.
Despite this, I was refused the medication and was told to seek another prescription locally. I found this extremely disappointing, especially given my condition and the fact that all the documentation appeared to be valid and verifiable.
What makes the experience even more frustrating is that I went to another pharmacy immediately afterwards, presented exactly the same documents, and my prescription was accepted without any issue.
I understand that pharmacists must follow regulations, but I felt that no effort was made to find a solution or verify the prescription. The lack of empathy and willingness to help a sick patient left a very negative impression.

Super friendly staff and everything spotless – even the shelves look healthier than me.
One star off because my wallet still hasn’t recovered from the “dermatologist-approved” shopping spree 🧴💸

This was a very disappointing experience. I cut open my toe, and went into this pharmacy to get some help with disinfectant and gauze. As my toe was bleeding, I asked if I could please use their bathroom to clean it - and I was told I should go to the bathroom at Burger King. What?! I understand that bathrooms might be “private” - but this woman was so disinterested in the well-being of her customers, that she seriously suggested I go disinfect my wound in a fast food restaurant.
She did though graciously sell me a bottle of water so I could clean it in the street outside… I am speechless and disappointed.

I love this pharmacy! Since the first time I entered I always go back there! This girl working over there (blond Italian, don’t remember her name) she really gives very good advice. Also did my earrings over there with Maite and she’s lovely as well and it was totally painless and clean. Did half year ago the earrings in a jewellery shop in ibiza, had to take them out because it was very infected and this woman over there didn’t even clean her hands. Maite is very professional and sweet!

They're always open, and I must mention the excellent service I received from Paula, the young woman who helped me. She was lovely and very helpful. I went back the next day to pick up what I had ordered, and there was a young man with her who was just as friendly. This pharmacy is definitely worth visiting; the service is outstanding, they have everything you need, and they're always open.

I came to buy a coccyx cushion, and trusting that it was a pharmacy, I bought what was supposed to be the best one without hesitation. 80 euros. Then I checked online, and the same cushion usually sells for 46 euros. I think they took advantage of my trust; I overpaid, and at a pharmacy, no less. A 20% or 30% markup is probably normal on the island, but 70% is outrageous. They made a sale and lost a regular customer. You should always compare prices, even at a pharmacy, or rather, especially at pharmacies, because you go in there more confidently.

This pharmacy, besides overlooking Peace Park, is very efficient. I usually buy my medications here, and while they may occasionally be out of stock, they resolve the issue within 24 hours (it rarely happens).

The service was awful. If you're going to get upset about having to serve literally two customers and you're going to speak rudely without even greeting people who come in, don't even bother serving them. It's a good thing they don't have to perform open-heart surgery, because otherwise...

They were incredibly unpleasant. I've never been treated so rudely by someone who works with the public. I hope no one buys from these ill-mannered people.

Tips for Visiting Pharmacies in Ibiza Town
To ensure a smooth experience, there are a few local customs and practicalities you should know before visiting a pharmacy in Ibiza. While the system is efficient, understanding how it works can save you time and stress, particularly during the busy summer months or late at night when options are more limited.
- Look for the Green Cross: Every pharmacy in Spain displays a glowing green cross outside. If the cross is lit, the pharmacy is currently open. This is the quickest way to spot one from a distance on a busy street.
- Check the Door for Duty Hours: If a pharmacy is closed, look at the sign on the door or window. It will list the address and hours of the nearest "Farmacia de Guardia" that is open overnight or during holidays.
- Bring Your EHIC or Insurance Details: If you are an EU citizen, bring your European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) or GHIC. For non-EU visitors, keep your travel insurance details handy, as some medications may require private payment and a receipt for reimbursement.
- Know the Generic Names: Brand names for medications often differ between countries. If you take a specific drug, write down the generic name (e.g., Ibuprofen, Paracetamol) rather than the brand name to help the pharmacist provide the correct equivalent.
- Ask for Pharmacist Advice: In Spain, pharmacists are highly trained to diagnose minor issues. Don’t hesitate to describe your symptoms; they can often provide over-the-counter solutions faster and cheaper than a visit to a private clinic for minor ailments like insect bites or mild allergies.
Having a trusted pharmacy nearby provides peace of mind, allowing you to enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of the island without worry. Whether you are staying near the marina or exploring the old town, professional help is never far away.
Remember to store medications properly, especially during the hot summer months, as heat can affect their efficacy. By planning ahead and knowing where to go, you ensure that your time in Ibiza remains healthy, safe, and enjoyable.
