12 Best Shopping Areas in Torrevieja

Torrevieja’s retail landscape is far more diverse than many first-time visitors expect. While the coastline and salt lakes draw the initial attention, the city’s shopping districts offer a compelling mix of traditional Spanish commerce, modern convenience, and tourist-focused retail. Understanding where to go for specific items can save you both time and money, especially during the peak summer months when the streets are busiest.

The commercial heart of the city revolves around a few key arteries that connect the residential areas to the port. Here, you will find a blend of established Spanish brands, independent boutiques, and family-run businesses that have served the local population for decades. The atmosphere shifts noticeably between the morning rush for fresh produce and the evening paseo, when shopping becomes a social activity rather than a chore.

For those seeking fashion, accessories, and footwear, the concentration of stores is remarkably high for a city of this size. You do not need to travel to Alicante or Murcia to find current trends; Torrevieja holds its own with a mix of high-street names and unique local designers. The key is knowing which streets cater to which budgets and styles.

Beyond the clothing racks, the city excels in home goods, electronics, and specialty food items. Expats and residents from Northern Europe will find dedicated stores stocking international products, making it easy to source familiar ingredients. At the same time, traditional Spanish mercados offer the best of the Mediterranean diet, from cured ham to locally caught seafood.

The layout of Torrevieja’s shopping zones is pedestrian-friendly, though parking can be a challenge in the center. Most areas are best explored on foot, allowing you to duck into the narrow side streets where hidden gems are often located. Comfortable shoes are essential, as the distances between the main hubs are manageable but often longer than they appear on a map.

Seasonality plays a significant role in the retail experience here. During the winter, the pace is relaxed and geared toward locals, while the summer brings extended hours and a surge in demand for beachwear, souvenirs, and outdoor dining accessories. Prices in tourist-heavy zones tend to rise in July and August, so savvy shoppers often buy their summer essentials in May or June.

Whether you are a resident looking for a new weekly routine or a visitor hoping to bring home a piece of the Costa Blanca, Torrevieja’s shopping areas provide a practical and enjoyable experience. The following guide breaks down the most important districts and streets, explaining what you can expect to find in each and why they are worth your time.

We visited Habaneras as a family, with my wife and daughter, and it has become one of those shopping centres we keep coming back to when we are in Torrevieja. It is not a huge shopping centre, but that is actually part of what I like about it. It is open, spacious and mostly outdoors rather than being completely enclosed under a roof, which gives it a much more relaxed atmosphere than many traditional shopping malls. There is a surprisingly good selection for the size. You have Zara, several sports shops, and plenty of other stores, with Leroy Merlin and Carrefour right next to the centre as well. My daughter quickly found her favourite place here – the Guess store. There are also plenty of places to sit down for something to eat or drink. This is probably the weakest part of Habaneras for me. There is a lot to choose from, but in my experience the general food quality is fairly average. I would come here for the shopping first and the restaurants second. Parking is convenient, everything is fairly easy to find, and the centre has a pleasant atmosphere without feeling overwhelmingly large. A small but very cosy shopping centre with a little bit of everything. Not the biggest or most impressive shopping centre in Spain, but a very practical and enjoyable place to spend a few hours with the family.

This is a smaller shoppingcenter than La Zenia one. They have restaurants on the top floor with big screens that shows football matches. Quite children friendly judging from all the child activities available. There are signs on places that claims that the shopping centre is also pet friendly.

A very pleasant shopping experience! The mall is clean, bright, and spacious, with a layout that’s easy to navigate. We found everything we needed – from food to clothes – and even managed to keep the kids entertained (though the small play area was a bit pricey, it did the trick!). Everyone left happy, full, and with a little something new in their bags. Perfect stop for families needing a break from the sun – or each other.

Good place to go and do shopping or have a drink or lunch. It's closer to Torrevieja than La Zenia. On Sundays everything is closed so only go here on Sunday if you want to have a coffee at one of the bars and meet with friends. Lots of room to park outside the shopping center. The only downside is that if it's windy or rainy you won't be able to enjoy walking around, shopping or having a drink as the shopping centre is not enclosed. Other than that good place to come once or twice per week.
Conner Regan★★★★★
Nice shopping centre, plenty of underground parking and shops to choose from. Very top level is more for food and there is a limited choice upstairs. There is also a small park on the roof terrace for children. Toilets are spotless clean and the whole centre, I do enjoy coming here.

Good mix of services in this area, including bars & restaurants. Sometimes difficult to park because shoppers don't want to use Mercadona's underground parking. Can't think why - it's cooler and has stairs and a lift up to the shops!

I like the Haberneras because it is usually less manic and less busy than the Boulevard. There are sufficient shops and places to eat or drink. It's a pleasant place to visit and has enough shops to keep even the most ardent shopper happy!

The staff here are friendly, and the grocery prices are very reasonable. This huge store has an impressive range of products, including food, electronics, bikes, and beach chairs. It's a one-stop shop for all your needs.

My favorite shopping center after USA. Very clean and nice atmosphere. Good choice of the stores. Pretty vibe.

Very Cute outdoors shopping center good selection of shops and nice surroundings, many cafees and even some soft arm chairs for gentlemen to rest if the wifes spend long time in the shops. Entertaining some days.
Wrong Turn Legend★★★★★
Nice shopping center with a great mix of well-known stores and smaller boutiques. There’s a food court on the top floor with plenty of options, and parking is free, which is always a bonus. There’s also a good hypermarket where you can find pretty much everything you need for your household. If you’re visiting with kids, there are several play areas throughout the mall to keep them entertained while you shop. Overall, it’s a convenient place to shop, grab a bite to eat, and spend a few hours.

I like that it’s so clean except the dog pee on every pot. There is a great variety of shops. Good parking. You should put arrows on the ground so you get a better flow like on the roads because there are 2 lanes one I each direction 😄
Agnė Šulčiūtė★★★★★
A very nice place both for shopping and grabbing something to eat. The stores are well laid out with a wide variety to choose from, and there’s also a kids’ playground. The shops are arranged like a boulevard, so you can walk outside, and there are benches where you can sit down and relax.

A fantastic new space and design by the Marina... Torrevieja needed something like this... It's a pleasure to walk around with attractive vistas. Unfortunately there seems to be mainly chains of restaurants and few shops... It would be nice to see some independent outlets rather than fast food rubbish KFC... McDonald's Taco Bell... Fosters Hollywood... Great place but a disappointing variety of shops...
Ruud Oosterveen★★★★★
Beautiful new area. Very modern. Nice looks over the harbour. This is what torrevieja needed. There a still a lot of places empty. Curious who will join the place there. Most places are filled with restaurants.
Isabelle Bordier★☆☆☆☆
It looks like a parking garage and there is nothing at all to do. Only restaurants. Let’s hope it’s getting better!
Sergiu Cecoi★☆☆☆☆
Very disappointed with Mocca del Mar Italian Restaurant. We ordered a few drinks, but the staff were very rude because we didn’t order any food. We were sitting at two small tables when a staff member approached us and said they needed one of the tables because we had only ordered drinks. The staff were not friendly or welcoming at all, and the whole experience made us feel unwelcome. I would not recommend this restaurant if you’re just looking to enjoy a drink. Very unfriendly staff.

You can see a full video review on our YouTube channel by searching Torrevieja’s NEW Paseo del Mar Leisure Centre… Why Is Everyone Hating It? We visited Paseo del Mar Leisure Centre despite reading some negative reviews beforehand, and unfortunately, we came away feeling a little disappointed. At the moment, the development is still far from complete and feels very unfinished. It currently has quite a stark, concrete appearance and lacks the atmosphere we were expecting. We had hoped it would be more like La Zenia Boulevard, which is much more inviting and beautifully laid out. That said, it's clear there's still a lot of work to be done, so we're hopeful it will improve as more shops, restaurants, and landscaping are completed. We'll definitely give it another visit in a few months and hope to see it living up to its potential.

Good outlet store that usually is well stocked with good brands. If you are a bit lucky you will find something nice, in your size. Update June 2026, same as before.

Outlet El Corte Inglés has a good selection of swimwear with plenty of sizes to choose from, and the prices for these items feel fair. For other categories the prices seemed higher, so the best value is definitely in the swim section.

Great service and discounted quality items. Recommend.

This place is very unstructured. The clothes are divided into brands, but shirts, trousers and everything Else is hanging very unorganized, which makes it almost impossible to find anything. Sarah Elfie★☆☆☆☆
Nice store but baddest service ever. I asked a woman who worked there if it's several places in the store to pay for clothes. She answered: whats your problem? Its 3 persons before you in line. She laughed at me and people watched us. There was 16 persons before me, thats why I asked in the first place. I was very polite, she was NOT and shes working there. Will never go back again because of her. Hope she get fired soon. Adios
Jonathan Lundström★☆☆☆☆
I was helping my mother with her handbag to get out her wallet and card before queing up to pay. Then an employee came up and told me to leave the store because men are not allowed in the womens section. There were other men there, but I was the only younger man there. The same employee walked past several of them after I left the store without talking to them. Last time at Zara.
Oleh Rukh (R.O.M.)★☆☆☆☆
Today, April 18, around 12:30, there was a situation in Zara Habaneras Torrevieja. I took pictures of several T-shirts and sent them to my wife to decide which model to buy. Then a worker came up to me and forbade me to do it. I asked where the definition is that I can't take pictures of clothes? There was no answer. I asked her name and where is her badge? Also said that I want to mention her in the review. She was very displeased and led me to a corner of the hall where there was a sign that a video was being filmed in the store. I thing that my rights were violated, because I did not take pictures of people or product locations, but only of specific product models so that my wife could choose things for herself. The store is a public place where anyone can enter and where neither photography nor videography is prohibited. The fact that this employee did not identify herself and did not have a badge also humiliates me. I didn't come to her house to be yelled at me, I came to the community store. Talking in such a tone is unacceptable. I bought 3 items that I managed to agree with my wife, but I would have bought more: for my daughter, son and myself. The management of Zara can thank this employee, because thanks to her you lost regular customers.
T Maram★☆☆☆☆
Worst service I have ever received in any Zara store. Especially the rude abnoxious woman assistant in the dressing room, she should be sent for training!!!

Mercadillo de Torrevieja is a huge and lively market with plenty of space between the small lanes running through the many stalls, making it comfortable to explore. There’s a wide selection of fresh fruit and vegetables, and many vendors happily offer generous tastings. You’ll also find everything from clothes, shoes, electronics, ceramics, and toys – truly a bit of everything gathered in one place. There are lots of stalls serving drinks, churros, and small breakfast or lunch options, so it’s easy to take a break and soak it all in. The market has a fantastic vibe and a very cozy atmosphere, making it a pleasure to wander around, browse the stalls, and hunt for good deals. A must-visit if you’re in the area.
Olof Persson★★★★☆
This is a very big market place with everything including wine market. Hard to find a parking spot. Too many people.
Lorraine Craig★★★★★
This is a fantastic market with loads of different stalls selling everything from fruit and veg to clothing and household items. There are always numerous fruit and veg stalls to choose from, and the prices are great. There are also toilets at either end of this market and every time I have been they have been clean. There is also security present, but do not let this put you off as I have never witnessed any problems or issues here. There is lots of parking in the nearby streets, and both ends have somewhere to secure your cycle.
Orsi Horváth★★★★★
I loved it! We ate divine churros, a huge selection of fruits and vegetables. You have to try them. Clothes and accessories are also very well priced.

Beautiful and very pretty town, lots of nice shops. Check the opening hours of the shops, they are usually only open until 9:30-10:00 PM. Not much time for shopping if you only go to town at 7 PM and have to eat first. Lovely beach promenade with street vendors and lots of restaurants and bars.

Tips for Shopping in Torrevieja

Shopping in Torrevieja is generally straightforward, but a few local insights can make the experience smoother and more rewarding. From timing your visit to understanding payment preferences, these practical tips will help you shop like a local rather than a tourist.

Shop during the morning or late afternoon. Most independent stores close for siesta between roughly 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM, especially outside the summer season. Plan your shopping around these hours to avoid finding locked doors. The exception is large shopping centers and supermarkets, which typically remain open all day.

Carry some cash for smaller purchases. While credit and debit cards are widely accepted in chain stores and larger boutiques, many market stalls and smaller family-run shops prefer cash or have a minimum spend for card payments. A small amount of euros in your pocket will save you from missing out on a unique find.

Visit the weekly street markets for fresh produce and bargains. Torrevieja hosts a large outdoor market, typically on Fridays, where you can find everything from fruit and vegetables to clothing and leather goods. Arrive early to beat the heat and the crowds, and do not hesitate to haggle politely on non-food items.

Check for tax-free shopping if you are a non-EU visitor. Many larger stores offer Tax-Free forms that allow you to reclaim VAT on purchases over a certain amount. Ask at the counter before paying, as the process must be initiated at the time of purchase, not afterward.

Wear comfortable shoes and bring water in summer. The main shopping streets are paved and flat, but you will walk more than you expect. The Mediterranean sun can be intense between noon and 4:00 PM, so a bottle of water and a hat will make the experience far more pleasant.

Torrevieja’s shopping scene rewards those who take the time to explore beyond the obvious tourist stalls. The mix of old and new, Spanish and international, creates a retail environment that is both practical and full of character. Whether you are hunting for a specific item or simply enjoying the atmosphere of the city’s bustling streets, there is always something new to discover.

As the city continues to grow, its commercial offerings evolve with it, adding modern conveniences while preserving the traditional market culture that has long defined the area. With a little planning and the right approach, you can make the most of every shopping trip in this vibrant coastal city.
