Great bar with a very friendly atmosphere.
I had a really nice conversation with the waiter, Thibault. He explained some basics about life in France, helped me a little with the language, and gave me tips on what to visit in Nice.
I really appreciated his kindness and local advice. Definitely recommend Tipsy Bar!
Carly McQuilkin★★★★★
Amazing flavoured rums they’ve infused in house! I cannot recommend the mango spicy rum enough if you like a bit of a kick

Good drinks and the bartenders are friendly. Came here on a random Wednesday and felt right at home. Grab some bourbon and settle in for a good time!

Best bar in Nice. The bartenders/owner and bouncer are the best, the vibe and music are great, the house-made rums and vodkas are dynamite, the drink prices are excellent, and all together it cannot be beaten. We went three nights in a row because one wasn’t enough. 6/5 stars

Rude bartenders. Tried to trick me to pay twice. Otherwise rude to other guests singing and laughing.

Super lively pub/bar. Lively band and karaoke were a plus. Burgers and ribs especially were amazing!!! Friendly vibs and good mixed drinks for decent prices. This one surely stands out from the rest. Highly recommend for a bar dive, quick bite or late night fun.

The drinks were great and the atmosphere was incredible! We went on Monday. There was a live band playing covers, our waitress was very kind and we had the best time.
Got a cheeseburger and fries which were meh, but everything else makes up for it.

Fantastic atmosphere, we happened to go one evening when there was an amazing band. Food and service are excellent. Very satisfied.

Very atmospheric with lots of memorabilia on display. The fish and chips were excellent. The background music suited us very well, the live music less so. We made a swift exit!

Waka Bar is perfectly located just across the road from the beach, with a rooftop terrace that offers beautiful views of the Mediterranean and the Promenade. I tried their veggie burger and nacho chips, and both were really good. The highlight for me was the burger, it came with a delicious and flavourful beetroot patty. If I ever visit Nice again, I’d definitely come back for the food and the view.

Great location on the Nice sea front. We sat on the balcony which has great views with comfy bar stools. Delicious white sangria, only €7.50. Nice and quiet midday. Air conditioned interior for those who need to cool down from the heat. Asked the waitress about when the music is, live music is Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays usually 6pm to 9pm, there is a DJ set every night starts about 10pm. We’ll be returning to enjoy a night here!
Kerira Tapene★☆☆☆☆
DJ was amazing BUT we came all the way from Aotearoa New Zealand and this bartender was super rude to us. We were trying to get drinks but her attitude made us want to leave and not feel welcome at all. She was angry and mean, we felt like we couldn’t order drinks from her. I suggest she pick up her attitude to make other New Zealanders feel welcome.

Perfect stop for cocktails with a view. Burger and chicken caesar salad was very tasty. Great service, atmosphere, and music.

Really nice spot overlooking the promenade and sea. Had a delicious Caesar salad and some homemade chips. Also really enjoyed the lemon cordial, very refreshing. Service was good.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING EXPERIENCE - we had so much fun, we were able to come in without a booking for 10 people - it was really short notice but definitely an experience we would do again. We did the karaoke and all had a round of drinks - however we would have preferred to have a jug of water rather than having the poor waiter who was manning the whole floor to refill our glasses. Overall amazing establishment, location and drinks!

I came to this bar by chance today. The owner was very nice. I ordered something I didn't like to drink. He came to ask for my opinion and directly changed a cup for me. I think I will definitely go again if I have a chance in the future.

probably my favorite bar in the world! you cannot skip this place if you’re in nice. the owners are the sweetest people on earth. in my eyes, we’re besties. we look forward to seeing them every time we’re in nice and getting the most delicious drinks. they host different events most nights which are always so much fun. highly recommend the marie madeleine and the denise. and for shots, you must try the madeleine! it tastes just like a dessert.

Great place with friendly staff and excellent music.
This appears straight away when you search for live music in Nice, and seems a popular spot attracting talented performers.
Bar staff are friendly and drinks are well priced. Door staff are friendly and helpful.
Located in the old town, it is easy to find and lots of local places to eat nearby.
Erika G★★★★★
If you are looking for a bar with good music, people 30+ a bit more alternative that’s the pace. When it is full it takes a bit longer to get a drink but the place and the music make it worth.
G it's me★★★★★
A friendly bar team..
Le Shapko opens at 22:00 all the way through to 05:30… cool jazz played alongside other genres with a jazz twist..
The audience did change from aged 30 - 70 around 01:00 to 18 plus very young adults (all who were being age checked by the door staff)

- MAKE SHAPKO GREAT AGAIN -
I’ve been going to Shapko for about fifteen years now, roughly once or twice a quarter.
What, until a few years ago, was a high-quality venue for lovers of live music is slowly but surely losing the very essence of what once made it so prestigious.
The clientele has grown younger and, frankly, deteriorated. Gone are the well-heeled forty-somethings who used to fill the place not so long ago.
As for the service, the days of the exceptional staff, who played such a key role in shaping the atmosphere, are clearly over. I ordered a beer €9, left a tip €2, yet the barman didn’t even bother to look me in the eye. Not a word, not a smile. You’re simply there to consume and pay. As for having a good evening, that’s apparently your concern, not the staff’s.
Shapko remains a venue that stands above average in the Old Town of Nice. But it seems this is now largely down to its reputation. Without a proper reset in terms of both clientele and service, it is, quite unmistakably, living on borrowed time. Please, make Shapko great again.
Nicholas T★★★★★
Fantastic live music! Service was questionable but music made up for it. I’d come here expecting to drink plain liquor or beers because they list a ton of cocktails but can only make about 1/4 of them.

An absolute staple in Nice for drinks and sunset views! Movida has an unbeatable location right along the Promenade des Anglais with breath-taking views of the sea. The cocktails are beautifully crafted, and the tapas are delicious and perfect for sharing. The staff is super friendly, energetic, and fast even during busy hours. A fantastic 5-star spot to kick back and enjoy the vibe!
Magdalena Grudzien★★★★☆
As most restaurants serving food are closed in Nice between 2 pm and 7 pm, we went in as they serve snacks. Restaurant offers a nice view to the see and the promenade. There is a balcony, so you can sit outside. We took a burger (so-so), salmon toast (ok) and a goat cheese salad (a bit sour, but the best of the three). We decided to try also some of the drinks (they have a wide variety of them): Black Mamba (not too sweet) and Edelweis (really sweet). Staff was nice and everything was served fast.
Emma★★★★★
We had a nice drink in here and watched the world go by on the promenade. It is a spot with a great view. The houmous was lovely.

Terrible experience. We had booked and paid for a mixology experience through GetYourGuide for a group of five during a weekend in Nice. The booking was confirmed, and I had even been in direct contact with the owner via WhatsApp. When we arrived at the venue, we were told that our reservation could not be found and that there was no space available for us. This is unacceptable, especially considering that we had already paid and planned part of our weekend around this experience. We received a full refund, but that does not make up for the time wasted and the great disappointment. A mistake like this reflects an extremely unprofessional approach to reservation management. I would not recommend it.
Margrét Einarsdóttir★☆☆☆☆
The service was unfortunately terrible. The waitresses were very rude and therefore the atmosphere was unfortunately not so good with our group. We were a six person group and we all were very dissatisfied with our service. Then, in the end, we were overcharged. When we spoke with the waitresses, they were fairly shocked and rude towards us. However, we did get our money for the drinks back.
Unfortunately, not a good first impression. However, after this place we did go to a couple of very fun and good places on the same street that were worth the time and money! Would recommend taking a stroll - however not to this place:(

Decent attempt at a sports pub, lacking only pumps and real ale! Great atmosphere, especially if you were sitting with R. Madrid fans. 😉

Felt so disrespected, I took a seat waiting for my group, and one guy was so sweet and asked if I had more people, the bartender was rude and said “it doesn’t matter get up”. I’ve worked as a hostess, I know you have other patrons I would have gotten up but the way the other bartender ignored me then disrespected me was insane. I ordered a drink at 10:55 (happy hour ends at 11), I was still charged the happy hour price. Customers aren’t the priority, I would give the customer a free drink considering making them get up from their seat because the whole party was not there. I’ve never felt this disrespected before.

What a great find. Tucked away in the heart of the Old Town, Coco Bar is a haven of friendly service in a snug, pistachio green room. The proprietors are charming and efficient - and are at the heart of Coco’s inclusive vibe. There’s a little bit of seating in the narrow street outside too. Come for the drinks and stay for the fun.

Happened to find this Gem in our first night in Nice. A lovely, warm, welcoming bar situated in the Old Town of Nice. Small bar really beautiful decor and exceptionally friendly staff. Happy hour is between 5pm and 7pm. But you will definitely stay longer. Nice and hidden spot with a fantastic mixologist. He is very knowledgeable as well as genuinely friendly and helpful. Dont be afraid to ask about any of the drinks, he knows whats in them and how (in theory) to make them suit your taste. (In theory because the bars selection was already fantastic and i could not have wished for more than was offered already)

We came here for a drink in late November after dinner somewhere. It is hidden behind a restaurant so we had to walk through it to find this cosy indoor bar. The bartender was very engaging and gave us many recommendations on cocktail. The atmosphere was nice. Funny wallpaper. A great place to be around the marina location.

Standard Irish pub on the continent. Can’t comment on the food. Service was good enough and staff friendly (just incredible busy). Went for the England semi final and although heartbreaking, the atmosphere was stellar. Plenty of screens and places to stand. Lots of seats outside as well. Decent enough pints

We had such a lovely meal at Ma Nolan’s in Nice! It was just what I needed — a little taste of being back home and I left very well fed! 😊
I ordered the beef burger well done and it was absolutely delicious, with yummy onion rings on the side. 🍔
A special mention has to go to Gavin, the lovely young man who served us. He made sure my burger was cooked exactly as I’d asked and looked after us so well throughout our meal. Superb, friendly service and great food.
Thank you Gavin and Ma Nolan’s — we really enjoyed it! ☘️

Great Irish pub in city center of the Nice.
We did not try food, but experience was excellent.
Really good atmosphere, music and dancing.
They have so many different beers.
Recommend.
Сергей Малолеткин★★★★☆
This pub has a long history, having been open since 2005, and it truly serves one of the best pints of Guinness I’ve had in Nice. The Kilkenny is excellent as well—fresh, perfectly poured, and of consistently high quality.
Unfortunately, the overall experience is seriously affected by hygiene issues. As soon as you walk in, there is a strong sour smell, giving the impression that the bar area is not being cleaned properly. There are small flies around the bar, and some of them were sitting directly on the cocktail straws that are later given to customers. This is unpleasant and does not meet the standard you would expect from such a well-known establishment.
I sincerely hope the owners pay more attention to cleanliness and hygiene. A thorough deep cleaning of the bar area and maintaining proper sanitation would make a huge difference. The quality of the beer is outstanding, and it would be a shame for the reputation of this legendary pub to suffer because of issues that can be fixed.

I would give a 10-star if it were possible! The drinks here are outstanding! Sal, is a master at inventing cocktails! The smoky flavor of fashioned was fabulous, and so was the matcha sour. Amazing time at this irish pub! England were playing in the euros so the bar was showing this on a big screen outside, the atmosphere was unmatched! Max the bartender/waiter was also very lovely and chatted to us! The cocktails were lovely too!

I think you will see that I review a lot and rarely do I give low scores.
I stopped by this morning to see if there was a drinks list with a view to visiting this evening. There were some QR codes on a notice board so I stepped into the shade to try and see my mobile phone screen in the bright sunshine.
Any elder gentlemen came into the same space and said bonjour, and I responded bonjour. I thought he was some local or someone who just wanted shade . That s is 6 hours before opening time. All fine so far.
The gentlemen was right next to me so I stepped out away while sorting my phone out. He then proceeded to place one of the outdoor chairs in a position to stop me going back to the notice board and shaded area. Extremely rude. I realized then that he either worked there or was the owner. There was no engagement. No asking if I needed something.
If this is the greeting you get them there are plenty of other bars. Try Ma Nolans as another Irish bar.
In the picture you can see the gentleman's reflection on the door to the right, making sure I don't step into his previous shade

went there in the evening to party, first we were asked if we are open to reserve a table or buy a bottle. We did not, but got in. A nice little bar, were you meet many french people and they play most of the time french music. It was sad that they closed at 2. The waiter were very cool. But its a little bit annoying if people are popping bottles and the waiters get there with the candles through the little dance floor.

This bar has a cool vibe. It looks like you’re in a wooden ship. The bartenders do not speak great English but they tried and were very friendly. Happy hour is buy one get one free. USB plugs all along the bar is convenient.

I went there on a Friday night with friends, and the place was crowded, and music was playing, all of that adding up to a very nice mood.
However, I asked for water at the bar, and I was told to go to the toilet for water, given the queue to get there I asked again with no success.
In order to get just a glass of water I had to wait until a friend ordered a shot to get my glass of water.
Free water on a bar in France should be a given, it wasn't, and I think this is enough for a bad grade.

It is a small cozy bar. Do not set your expectations high. They do not have zero alchohol beer but the staff is friendly.

he workers were very rude. I ordered a drink and she said yes and then she disappeared and never came back with the drinks. I tried to ask them a question and she looked me up and down and walked away. I was being very nice too. They were all extremely rude. There was a bar crawl and they were only being nice to the people participating in it. They were all wanted nothing to do with other paying customers. We ended up leaving because they were not being helpful.

Well, I would say not so friendly pub, I was stuck on my own due to flight disruptions in Nice and after looking at me for like 10 seconds the security guy said "C'est prive aujourd'hui". That was probably the most obvious I have ever heard. Never happened to me before in a pub, and I've only had 1 beer before.

You won’t find a friendlier pub in all of Nice! My fiancé and I were celebrating our engagement and stumbled upon The Sailor’s Pub, the proprietor matched our excitement and provided a wonderful experience! Drinks all around! Cheers!

There were about 3 people in the entire place and I was asked to move as I was standing where a local sits. Politely asked though 😉 Very closed off, so not one of those places where you sit and watch the tourists flow by. Could have been anywhere. Staff seemed nice. Maybe I just chose the wrong time.

Very nice venue to play darts with friends while watching sports matches on several TVs everywhere around.
Cool barmen as well

Service is terrible. We have waited about 20 minutes to take the order. First came the charcutterie with no fork, the meat was not fresh. We orderd one prosecco and one amareto sour and they came 20 minutes later. The worse i ever tasted! The waiter was not friendly at all!

Fantastic place for apéritifs. And we had an excellent bottle of Rose. The Planche Mixte was exceptional, and great service from William. Great location in the Old,Town.

Les Distilleries Idéales is a very popular pub in the Cours Salaya old town Nice.
It has very good outside seating which is must sought after for the people watching experience alone.
In the very hot weather they have a welcome mist spray that helps to make you feel more comfortable.
The indoor seating has a good atmosphere with interesting surroundings & decor.
Table service is very good.

When the summer heat in Nice got a little too real, we wandered into Les Distilleries Idéales—and we’re so glad we did. Nestled in one of the lively little alleys of Vieux-Nice, this spot was the perfect escape from the sun and bustle.
We grabbed a shady seat on the terrace and instantly felt the laid-back vibe. The staff were super friendly—chatty, funny, and totally relaxed. One of them even tossed in extra ice cubes for our drinks with a smile (honestly, that little gesture made our afternoon).
We kept things simple: just cold beers and spritzes, but that was exactly what we needed. No fuss, no pretense—just great drinks, good people-watching, and a spot to breathe. The prices were really fair too, especially during happy hour.
Inside, the decor is cool and a bit gothic, with copper tanks and painted ceilings—worth a peek if you're into that kind of character—but for us, sitting outside and soaking up the street energy was the real highlight.
If you’re wandering through the old town and need a break, we’d definitely recommend stopping here. Not fancy, just friendly and easy—our kind of place.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
– great location, good value, chilled drinks, and genuinely kind service.

Fantastic drinks and tapas are pretty solid. The Mojito, I must say, had me feeling as though the bartender had distilled Cuba into a drink. Although I know science hasn't reached the ability to do this, the bartender achieved it. GET THE MOJITO and finish it off the night with your favorite spritz. For tapas, if they improve slightly, then this place will take western Nice by storm. I recommend the butternut squash tapas - feta and almonds highlight an outstanding dish.
P.S. - they played Dababy during my time eating - loved it!

My mum and I were looking to have dinner on a Saturday night and as we haven’t made a reservation, we got there for opening at 6pm. One of the waitresses interrupted the other one when we asked if they had any tables available and said that they had a large private booking that night. This is all fine but as we walked back to our apartment after dinner at another place we saw that this place had 2 tables occupied, no private reservation was going on. Also just a heads up for anyone wanting to eat here- all other places nearby rammed and this place was pretty much empty- seems like we had a lucky escape.

As of now they’ve been open for 2.5 hours and will be open another 6 and I can make a reservation for in three minutes, yet we were standing outside with the doors closed, lights off, and all chairs stacked inside with nobody to be seen. Avoid this place and go to any other bar nearby.

Very chill, good vibes, friendly owner. Delicious but fairly weak cocktails. Ginger ale taste is too dominant.

Tips for Enjoying the Bar Scene in Nice
To make the most of your evenings in Nice, it helps to understand the local customs and logistics. While the city is welcoming to visitors, a little preparation can enhance your experience significantly. The following tips will help you navigate the scene like a local, avoid common pitfalls, and find the best value during your stay.
1). Embrace the “Apéro” Hour
The French tradition of apéro is sacred in Nice. Between 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM, bars offer discounted drinks and complimentary snacks like olives, peanuts, or pissaladière. This is the best time to try expensive wines or cocktails at a fraction of the usual price while soaking in the pre-dinner atmosphere.
2). Look Beyond the Cours Saleya
While the flower market is beautiful, the bars directly on the square often charge a premium for the view. Venture into the smaller side streets of the Old Town, such as Rue de la Préfecture or Rue Droite, where prices are lower and the crowd is more authentically Niçois.
3). Check for “Happy Hours” vs. “Late Nights”
Unlike some major cities, Nice often has a lull between 8:00 PM and 10:00 PM when locals are eating dinner. Don’t expect a packed dance floor early in the evening. The energy picks up significantly after 11:00 PM, especially in the Old Town and the Port district.
4). Utilize the Tram and Walking
Parking in the center of Nice is notoriously difficult and expensive. The city is highly walkable, and the tram system is efficient. If you plan to bar-hop between the Old Town and the Port, wear comfortable shoes and rely on public transport or rideshares to ensure a safe return.
5). Don’t Skip the Local Wines
While Provence is famous for rosé, the surrounding hills of Bellet produce excellent reds and whites that rarely leave the region. Ordering a glass of local Bellet wine is a must for any wine enthusiast and supports the local terroir.
Exploring the bar scene in Nice is about more than just the alcohol; it is about the atmosphere, the company, and the stunning backdrop of the Mediterranean. Whether you choose a historic pub or a modern mixology bar, the city’s charm is ever-present. The warmth of the service and the quality of the ingredients consistently set Nice apart from other French cities.
As you plan your evenings, remember that the best experiences often come from spontaneous discoveries. Use this list as a starting point, but don’t be afraid to wander down an unfamiliar alley or strike up a conversation with a bartender. The magic of Nice often reveals itself when you least expect it.
