Finding a reliable pharmacy in the heart of a bustling Spanish city can feel overwhelming, especially if you are visiting and unfamiliar with local regulations or if you have a sudden headache while navigating the narrow streets of the Albaicín. Whether you need a specific prescription filled, an emergency supply of baby formula, or simply sunscreen for the Andalusian sun, knowing where to go saves you valuable time and stress.
Granada’s city centre is well-served by a dense network of farmacias, easily identifiable by their bright green crosses. However, not all pharmacies are created equal regarding stock levels, language capabilities, or proximity to the main tourist arteries like Gran Vía or Plaza Nueva.
This guide cuts through the confusion by highlighting the most accessible and reputable pharmacies in the core of Granada. We focus on locations that balance professional service with convenient hours, ensuring you get the care you need without venturing too far from the main attractions.
Below, you will find a curated list of pharmacies located in the city centre, from the bustling commercial zones near the Cathedral to the quieter corners of the Realejo district. Each option offers the standard high quality of Spanish pharmaceutical care, but their specific locations make them vital resources for different types of visitors and residents.

Lots of products and helpful staff. Thank you Isabel (who took the time to translate in English for me)

It's a nice pharmacy that has a lot of things but I wouldn't recommend it to foreigners even if you speak Spanish fluently, the staff are consistently very rude to foreigners (including Latinos) and I don't think that sort of behaviour should be rewarded. Regardless of their political views they should be able to behave in a civil manner to their customers.

Super friendly, professional pharmacy and staff! The space is always wonderfully clean and well stocked. It’s easily accessible for both tourists and locals and is in right in center of Granada.
I come here for anything I need and am always welcomed. 100 percent recommend anyone coming here👍

I visited this pharmacy hoping someone could help me with what seemed like a reaction on my feet. The pharmacist was very kind and attentive, he took the time to speak to me in order to understand how long I'd had the reaction (thankfully he spoke great English) and after looking at my feet he gave me a cream that cleared up my reaction and so far has prevented it from reappearing - thank you!!

The worst pharmacy I‘ve ever seen.
My husband kept vomiting, so I went to this pharmacy very urgently.
I’ve arrived here at 11:52, but they locked the door with the lights on.
I was waiting and knocking many times almost 10minutes
because THEIR OFFICE HOURS IS 24:00 and THEY LEFT THE LIGHTS ON.
When it turned midnight, they came out from inside(I’m sure they heard me keep knocking) and said “No”.
I’m really upset because I was waiting and they knew it but didn’t do anything.
So I review this pharmacy very bad, and here are A LOT OF BAD COMMENTS that this pharmacy is EXPENSIVE and UNFRIENDLY.
I’m just backpakers so I’ll never use here again, but this beautiful city will be remembered for their rudimentary service.

I was recently on vacation in Granada and had a medical emergency. I went from pharmacy to pharmacy to get a prescription filled getting the "run around" because the QR code wouldn't work at their pharmacy's even though my prescriptions were from a Spanish Dr. in Spain. This was THE only out of five pharmacy's that had the computer system to read the QR code and even though they didn't have the exact number of pills in stock, they made an exception and went above and beyond to fill it. I'm very grateful. They took me seriously and worked with me! Thank you!!!
Pedro Pinto★☆☆☆☆
Horrible people at the pharmacy.
Went there for a case of food poisoning at about 21:00 and kindly asked if I could use there toilet.
The immediate answer was NO and saying that they didn't have any bathroom.
Bought some medicine and left the store.
I sat down outside the store on the sidewalk to see if I could get a little better, desperate I once again entered the store and asked them if there was a toilet that I could use....once again a clear No and that I should look for some toilet in a restaurant or coffeeshop outside.
I was in Granada for a summer vacation and although I do understand a little Spanish it is clearly a hard situation to be in.
Sadly , the pharmacist is in this store only to get your money and can't care less about anything else.
A very sad human being!...I hope she never goes through the same situation of being sick at night in a country where she doesn't dominate the language and culture and been sent out into the Street.

Went there to ask for a medication that is also selled over the counter in other EU countries. Felt already self-conscious about asking for this, but the guy there in the pharmacy was super short with me and just told I need prescription, not asking any additional questions. I felt really embarrassed and left. Walked to another pharmacy, where I was heard and helped and got exactly what I asked for, no prescription needed.
Edit: never did I ask for medication the pharmacy mentioned in the review response nor was I offered any alternatives or suggestions where to find help. It is also very unprofessional to mention by name any medicine I supposedly asked for anyway.

Served (if one can use the word “service”) by a twenty something young lady, who did not smile and looked as bored as boredom itself.
I wanted 1g paracetamol and was told that it could only be delivered with a prescription (nowhere in Europe is that the case). Went to another pharmacy a few streets away and was given what I needed without any problems and with a SMILE.
Not pleasant at all. She should be pleased to have a job.
Passed in front on another occasion (but luckily I did not need to enter) and she was there literally lying on the counter whilst customers were in the establishment.
If I were the owner or manager I wouldn’t keep her on the payroll a day longer than I would have to.

A week ago I gave a certain jua, who asked me to please speak to the owners, to put a sign on the door, in case people saw it, because due to my coronary disease I live alone, with a crutch, 67 years old, today 30-4-2026, I went to buy Procten, I asked and the girls started laughing, I told them if the boss was there to talk to her and they told me it was a pharmacist who was next door, also a lie according to what she told me, I asked for it and gave it to a young lady. It seems more formal, I don't know, conclusion: THEY ARE NOTHING MORE THAN A BUNCH OF LIARS, BECAUSE THEY TOLD ME THEY HAD PLANTED IT, MORE LIES AND HYPOCRISY AND ULTRA, I HAVE NEVER KNOWN MORE IN MY LIFE, IT DOESN'T SURPRISE ME THERE ARE SUCH BAD REVIEWS, IN ADDITION TO THEM, CORDIALLY, a bunch of disgraceful people, lies have always had and still have very short legs, it's not the owners' fault, but the attention, formality, word of the employees who told me it was planted: seen by me personally, a pure and simple lie..., that must be their nature, it seems, why???????????????????????????????????????????????, who knows,
THEY ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE STAFF TO HELP ANYONE, ONLY TO SELL, THAT'S CLEAR
Pelayo★★★★★
They are very attentive and efficient, answering your questions quickly, even via WhatsApp; but best of all is how reliable they are in the lab. You leave the prescription, with the custom-made formula, they give you a date and always notify you, even earlier.
Very professional.
Ana Maria Barranco★☆☆☆☆
I'm giving it one star because I can't give it less. Cold, impersonal service, materialistic business practices with no empathy or humane treatment for seriously ill patients. Disappointed; I won't buy from them again and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.
Francis★☆☆☆☆
They're incredibly arrogant. They reject prescriptions for compounded medications signed by a doctor without offering any alternative or solution. I've been giving them this prescription regularly for over a year for the same medication without any problems, and even after looking at my medical history, they haven't bothered to accept it. According to the lab, the doctor's handwriting is unclear; he writes % instead of mg.
They think they're the cat's pajamas, but there are other pharmacies, specifically one very close by, that filled my prescription in five seconds.

Exceptional service. They recommended some hair vitamins and an electric toothbrush that's fantastic. The pharmacists were very professional and attentive. They gave me lots of samples and nutritional advice to get me ready for summer. Highly recommended.

They kept me waiting for over an hour because I bought the insulin and paid in full. They kept the barcode until it was available on my card. When I came back for the refund, they couldn't find the barcode; they've lost it, and now they can't give me a refund. They've lost over €30 of my money.
Don't trust these employees, and if you have to, keep the barcode and the receipt, even if they tell you it's not necessary, like they told me.
The manager told me that without it, "he'd have to pay for it." Unbelievable! Now I have to pay for it? One less pharmacy to go to...

I was a regular customer of this pharmacy, and despite certain aspects that I didn't like or that seemed unprofessional, such as their disregard for privacy or their tendency to make certain statements about my treatment, I continued to be a customer for convenience—a mistake. But that's where I draw the line.
Seeing that they violently threw someone out for wanting to offer information about the pharmaceutical company Teva and its funding of the Palestinian genocide is the final straw. I'm not surprised by the pharmacist's attitude. There are polite ways to decline information without creating a violent situation. I don't recommend it, and I won't be returning.
TheMehekedao★☆☆☆☆
They were incredibly rude to someone who was simply there to inform them about a boycott campaign against the pharmaceutical company Teva, which is clearly a matter of interest to any pharmacy that dispenses medication, regardless of whether they participate in the campaign or not. At the very least, it would have been helpful to understand why many patients and professionals are going to request that other brands be dispensed. For me, that alone is reason enough not to go, given the numerous options available, not only because of what their actions suggest about their stance on the matter, but above all because everyone deserves respectful treatment, regardless of their opinions or whether they are there to spend a significant amount of money.

Practical Tips for Visiting a Pharmacy in Granada
Navigating the Spanish pharmaceutical system is straightforward once you understand the local customs and rules. To ensure a smooth experience when you visit any of the locations listed above, keep the following professional advice in mind.
If you are taking regular medication, always carry a copy of your prescription or a doctor’s note, especially if you require controlled substances. While Spanish pharmacists are highly trained and often speak some English, having the generic name of the medication rather than a brand name will speed up the process significantly. For minor ailments, do not hesitate to describe your symptoms; pharmacists in Spain are empowered to diagnose and dispense treatments for common issues that might require a doctor’s visit in other countries. Finally, remember that if you arrive during the afternoon "siesta" hours and find your nearest pharmacy closed, the door will display a sign directing you to the nearest Farmacia de Guardia (duty pharmacy) that remains open 24 hours.
Granada is a city best explored on foot, and that includes taking care of your health needs. The pharmacies in the centre are deeply integrated into the historic fabric of the city, often housed in beautiful old buildings that are worth admiring even if you are just walking past.
By choosing a centrally located pharmacy, you ensure that you spend less time searching for medical supplies and more time enjoying the tapas bars, the Alhambra views, and the vibrant street life that make Granada so special. Rest assured, the standard of care in these establishments is excellent, providing a safe and reliable safety net during your stay in this magnificent city.
