15 Best Tourist Attractions in Lloret de Mar

Lloret de Mar is far more than just a beach destination on Spain’s Costa Brava. While its golden sands and lively promenade attract sun-seekers from across Europe, the town also hides a remarkable cultural and natural heritage. From medieval watchtowers perched on rugged cliffs to lush botanical gardens overlooking the sea, this coastal town offers a surprising variety of experiences for every type of traveler.

Understanding the balance between its vibrant modern tourism scene and its deep historical roots is key to enjoying the area. Many visitors are surprised to discover that Lloret de Mar was once a small fishing village, and traces of that past remain in its old town and coastal paths. The attractions here are not just about entertainment but also about connecting with the Mediterranean landscape and Catalan traditions.

Because the town is compact, you can easily combine a morning of sightseeing with an afternoon at the beach. However, the best experiences often require stepping away from the main strip. Walking a little further along the coastal trails or exploring the quieter squares reveals a more authentic side of Lloret de Mar that many day-trippers miss.

Whether you are planning a family holiday, a romantic getaway, or a solo adventure, the town offers a wide range of activities. You can explore ancient ruins, admire modernist architecture, or simply enjoy a coffee while watching the fishing boats return to the harbor. The mild climate makes most of these attractions accessible for much of the year, not just in high summer.

The following guide focuses on the most rewarding and distinctive places to visit. It includes both the famous landmarks and a few lesser-known spots that offer exceptional value. By choosing a mix of cultural sites, natural viewpoints, and leisure areas, you can build an itinerary that feels balanced and unhurried.

Every recommendation below has been selected for its ability to show a different side of Lloret de Mar. You will find practical details woven into each description to help you plan your time effectively. Remember that opening hours and access can vary by season, so it is always wise to check official information before setting out.

These are the best tourist attractions in Lloret de Mar, presented in no particular order because each one appeals to a different interest. Whether you love history, nature, photography, or simply relaxing by the water, there is something here that will make your visit memorable.

One of the best viewpoints in Lloret de Mar if you want panoramic views of the Costa Brava. The walk up to Castell de Sant Joan is short but rewarding, and once you reach the top you get incredible views of Lloret Beach, Fenals Beach and the Mediterranean coastline. The entrance fee is very affordable (around €3), making it one of the best-value attractions in Lloret de Mar. The tower itself is small, but the real highlight is the scenery and the opportunity to learn a bit about the area’s history while enjoying the views. A great spot for photos, especially around sunrise or sunset. If you are visiting Lloret de Mar and enjoy viewpoints, castles or coastal landscapes, this place is definitely worth adding to your itinerary. Simple, affordable and with some of the best views in town.
Kim Goris★★★★★
Great visit, worthy to see. Great views and a lot of historical references to what it was used for
Paul Parent★★★★★
Visited in May 2026 Perched on a rocky headland between Lloret Beach and Fenals Beach, Castell de Sant Joan is a rewarding stop for anyone interested in history, coastal scenery, or photography. Although only parts of the original medieval fortress remain, the restored watchtower offers spectacular panoramic views of the Costa Brava, making the uphill walk well worth the effort. The climb is short but moderately steep, adding to the sense of adventure before you're rewarded with breathtaking sea views. Interpretive panels provide insight into the castle's 11th-century origins and its role in defending the coastline, helping visitors appreciate the site's historical significance. Whether you're capturing sunrise, the turquoise Mediterranean waters, or the dramatic cliffs, this is one of Lloret de Mar's most photogenic locations. If you're visiting the area, Castell de Sant Joan is an excellent blend of history, scenery, and unforgettable viewpoints that shouldn't be missed.
Anna Crina★★★★☆
I recommend the road from the base of the mountain, near the sea. Longer, but worth it. The castle or the tower - because we are only talking about a tower - is quite well maintained and provides you with a very nice view. The 3 euros for entry is not really worth it. Let's hope they will reuse them for maintenance
Lluis Gerard★★★★★
It’s very small but the views are cool. It costs us 3 euros per adult person. I’m happy to contribute to the place but it’s not like the biggest attraction ever. Going up the stairs can be a bit intimidating if you have fear of heights because they are verdant narrow

Spectacular! Lloret has a treasure like this house museum that you absolutely must visit! The guided theatrical tour is highly, highly recommended! Very fun and interesting!

The visit to the building included a theatrical explanation, which, in addition to placing us in the era and discussing the most influential people of that time, was very well preserved, with many original features. The theatrical performance, with three actresses, made the visit incredibly fun, especially the character of Oscar's niece 😉

One of the best places to visit in Lloret de Mar and easily one of the highlights of the Costa Brava. The gardens are beautifully maintained and offer incredible views of the Mediterranean Sea, with elegant pathways, sculptures and plenty of spots to take amazing photos. The entrance fee is around €6 for adults, and students can enter for about €3 with a valid student ID, making it excellent value for money. What makes this place special is how peaceful it feels compared to the nearby beaches. It’s the perfect place to relax, enjoy the scenery and take in some of the best views in Lloret de Mar. If you’re visiting the Costa Brava, this is definitely one of the places most worth your time. A great combination of nature, architecture and some of the best coastal views in the region.
Gabriela Ciortuz Augustinov★★★☆☆
There are some beautiful sea views from the garden, and the entire garden is very well maintained. However, only a small part of it is accessible for people with reduced mobility or parents with baby strollers. Otherwise, there are quite a lot of stairs to climb up and down if you want to explore the whole garden.
Ella★★★★★
Such a great experience. The views were beautiful, and it was so peaceful. Every corner feels perfect, with beautiful pathways, sculptures, and lush greenery creating a relaxing atmosphere. It’s the perfect spot for a quiet walk, taking photos, or just enjoying the scenery. If you’re visiting Lloret de Mar, this is definitely a place you shouldn’t miss! With that, I must mention the wonderful people working there. They were extremely nice, and even called taxi for us. The taxi service was difficult to reach, due to the high volume of calls, but they kept dialing until someone answered. I was really grateful for their help.
Viktoria Vynogradska★★★★★

Went in here and passed a hour , no kids with us but we had a laugh and enjoyed the different machines, you can also collect tickets on some machines you use then get a gift depending on how many tickets you get, min tickets needed is 150 I think and we got a lighter, not much but still nice to get something back, there are other gifts to get that are up to 5,500 tickets .bumper cars are 2 euro each, you can also get a card there that you to up and use on the machines which is great rather than getting money all the time and can help you choose what you want to spend.

Very lovely little spot and walk worth visiting if your in the area
Łukasz Hylla★★★★★
Dona Marinera, also known as the "Seafarer's Wife," is one of the most iconic landmarks in Lloret de Mar. This stunning bronze statue stands majestically on a rocky outcrop overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, symbolizing the strength, hope, and enduring spirit of those who wait for their loved ones to return from the sea. The statue, created by the sculptor Ernest Maragall in 1966, is a tribute to the women of Lloret de Mar who watched the horizon, waiting for the safe return of their fishermen and sailors. The figure is depicted in a graceful yet powerful pose, with one hand shading her eyes as she gazes out to sea, embodying both the beauty and resilience of the coastal town's history. Visitors to Lloret de Mar are often drawn to this spot not only for the historical significance of the statue but also for the breathtaking panoramic views it offers. From this vantage point, you can see the sprawling beaches, the deep blue of the Mediterranean, and the charming town nestled against the hills. It's a place that invites reflection and appreciation of the natural and cultural beauty that Lloret de Mar has to offer. Dona Marinera is more than just a statue; it’s a symbol of Lloret de Mar's maritime heritage and a poignant reminder of the town's connection to the sea. Whether you’re a history enthusiast, a lover of art, or simply someone who appreciates a beautiful view, visiting Dona Marinera is a must when in Lloret de Mar. The experience is both inspiring and deeply moving, leaving a lasting impression on all who visit.

Paul Parent★★★★★
Museu del Mar - Can Garriga is a small but engaging museum set in a restored 19th-century “Indiano” house right on the seafront promenade of Lloret de Mar. The museum focuses on the town’s deep maritime heritage, especially its history of seafaring, trade with the Americas, and the era when many locals emigrated and returned with fortunes and architectural influence. The building itself—Can Garriga—is part of the experience: elegant, coastal, and slightly nostalgic, it reflects the wealth and style brought back by these “Indianos.” Inside, the exhibition is compact but well curated, mixing historical objects, ship models, photographs, and interactive displays that help explain Lloret’s transformation from fishing village to tourist destination. It’s not a large museum, so it works best as a focused visit rather than a long stay. What stands out most is its storytelling approach. Instead of overwhelming you with artifacts, it guides you through a clear narrative of life at sea, migration, and identity along the Costa Brava. The upper floors also offer pleasant views over the waterfront, adding a quiet visual break between exhibits. For photographers, the building has strong character—wooden details, maritime textures, and soft natural light coming through the windows. It’s especially rewarding as a cultural stop between beach walks rather than a standalone destination.
Julia Maakar★★★★★
A nice cozy museum right next to the beach. Small but includes a lot of things. If you are interested in thibgs that are connected with the sea, it is the right place. Google maps says it is reopens at 15.00 but in July, I suppose, it is 16.00 because I arrived at 15:40 and I had to wait for 20 min. The fee is 4 EUR.
Irmantas Sujeta★★★★★
It is very nice place to visit - just on the way to beach. Museum has its own little spaces where history of local naval life is being put. There is information in foreign languages so orientation what, when and how wont be difficult. We spent about 1 hour so the time was really good. The staff were friendly and English speaking. Maybe just one offer for the space - create some spots to sit for people with less strenght. Thank you for good history and well spent time
I. Lewer★★★★★
Lovely little museum. Went there in the hottest part of the day so kept away from the sun and learned about the local history.

Interesting and cute local museum. Had audio tracks to listen to while going around, in different languages, which was nice. Didn’t seem to have much colonialism awareness which was a bit jarring but it was fascinating nonetheless.

Its a fun party boat aimed at young adults. The all inclusive drinks are beer and sangria, I wouldn't recommend if you are meat free as veggie burger patties are cooked on the same surface as meat. Not mentioned while booking was the fact the tour is entirely in french so if you don't speak french it's likely you will miss out on games ect. Overall despite not understanding much it was fun.
Merlin Penny★★★★☆
Ahoy, Dramamine fans! We boarded this catamaran dreaming of sun, sea, and sangria. What we got was more Deadliest Catch than Below Deck. The weather had other plans. Cold winds, wild waves, and a boat doing its best impression of a metronome. About half our crew turned green and got intimate with the railing. To their credit, the bar stayed open and the booze flowed. Possibly the only thing keeping the rest of us upright. We eventually had to stage a gentle mutiny to head back to shore before we all became part of the Atlantic. Would recommend on a calmer day with fewer swells and more sea legs.

Tips for Visiting Lloret de Mar

A little planning can dramatically improve your experience in Lloret de Mar, especially if you want to see more than just the beach. The town is easy to navigate, but knowing a few local insights will help you avoid crowds, save money, and discover the most scenic corners without unnecessary stress.

1. Walk the coastal path early in the morning.
The Camí de Ronda connects Lloret de Mar with neighboring beaches and coves. Starting your walk before 9:00 AM gives you cooler temperatures, softer light for photos, and far fewer people on the narrow sections.

2. Use the local bus to reach the gardens.
The Santa Clotilde and Marimurtra gardens are located on the hillsides outside the center. The local bus service is reliable and inexpensive, but it runs less frequently during the afternoon siesta hours. Plan your return journey before you set out.

3. Visit the old town in the late afternoon.
The narrow streets around the church of Sant Romà are quieter after the beach crowds leave. Many small shops and cafes stay open late, and the evening light makes the modernist architecture look particularly beautiful.

4. Bring water shoes for the smaller coves.
Some of the most beautiful beaches and coves near Lloret de Mar have coarse sand or pebbles. Water shoes make entering the sea much more comfortable and allow you to explore rocky areas safely.

5. Book boat trips at the harbor, not from street vendors.
You will often find better prices and more accurate departure times by purchasing tickets directly at the official kiosks along the harbor. Street sellers may offer deals that do not match the actual schedule or route.

6. Check the festival calendar before booking.
Lloret de Mar hosts several major festivals, including the Santa Cristina procession and the Americanos fair. These events bring large crowds and road closures. If you prefer a quiet visit, avoid the main festival weekends.

7. Carry cash for small purchases.
While most hotels and larger restaurants accept cards, some smaller beach bars, market stalls, and rural parking areas still prefer cash. Having a small amount of euros on hand will save you time and frustration.

Lloret de Mar rewards travelers who are willing to look beyond the obvious. The town’s energy changes throughout the day, and moving between the beach, the old town, and the coastal viewpoints gives you a much richer sense of place than staying in one area.

By combining a few of the attractions above with the practical tips shared here, you can create a visit that feels both relaxing and culturally rewarding. Whether you stay for a weekend or a full week, the best memories often come from the unexpected views, quiet corners, and local flavors you discover along the way.
