Finding a great meal in Nice is rarely a challenge, but for Muslim travelers and locals who adhere to halal dietary laws, the search requires a bit more care. The French Riviera is famous for its Niçoise salads and seafood, yet the demand for authentic, permissible dining has grown exponentially in recent years.
As a result, the city now boasts a vibrant and diverse halal food scene that goes far beyond standard kebab shops. Whether you are craving a gourmet burger, traditional North African couscous, spicy South Asian curries, or even halal French tacos, Nice has something to satisfy every palate.
The culinary landscape reflects the city’s multicultural population, blending Mediterranean freshness with the rich spices of the Maghreb, the Levant, and the Indian subcontinent. This variety ensures that you do not have to compromise on quality or flavor while maintaining your dietary standards.
Navigating a new city’s food scene can be daunting, especially when you need to verify the authenticity of halal certifications. While many restaurants in Nice are fully halal, others offer halal options alongside a standard menu, so it is always wise to confirm directly with the staff.

It was a fantastic experience in every way. The menu might seem a bit pricey, but it’s well worth it. The food was served quickly, was piping hot and delicious, and the portions were very filling. The venue was clean and the waiters were wonderful – friendly, attentive and helpful.
Fatma Almansouri★☆☆☆☆
As tourists visiting from Qatar, we specifically chose this restaurant because it advertises itself as halal. We were genuinely looking forward to a great dining experience, but unfortunately, it turned out to be one of the worst restaurant experiences of our trip to France.
When we arrived, no one greeted us or even offered us a menu for around 10 minutes, despite the restaurant not being busy. From the beginning, the waitress’s attitude was cold, unfriendly, and unwelcoming.
After placing our order, we waited almost an hour for our food. Even our Coca-Cola, one of the simplest items on the order, was forgotten. It only arrived nearly an hour later after we had to remind the waitress ourselves. We had also asked for glasses with lemon slices, but they were never provided.
When the steaks finally arrived, they were extremely disappointing. We ordered them medium well, yet they were heavily burnt on the outside, dry, and cooked very unevenly. Some parts were completely charred while others were inconsistent in doneness. This is far below the standard expected from a restaurant that specializes in steak.
What made the experience even worse was what happened while we were still eating. The waitress began cleaning the table right next to us using a strong disinfectant. No guest should have to smell cleaning chemicals while trying to enjoy a meal. It was uncomfortable, inappropriate, and showed a complete lack of consideration for customers.
When we expressed our disappointment, the response was equally disappointing. We understand that mistakes can happen in any restaurant, but what truly matters is how they are handled. Unfortunately, there was no genuine apology, no empathy, and no effort to improve the situation. A kind attitude or even a simple acknowledgment of the inconvenience would have completely changed our impression, but instead we felt that our concerns were ignored.
The attached photos speak for themselves.
We chose this restaurant because of its halal reputation, but instead experienced poor hospitality, an extremely long wait, forgotten drinks, burnt and poorly cooked food, and disappointing customer service.
We cannot recommend this restaurant, especially to tourists and visitors who expect the quality and service reflected in its reputation. We left feeling disappointed and wishing we had chosen somewhere else.

A steak resteraunt that can’t cook a steak. the worst steak i’ve ever had (not hyperbole) . extremely disappointed. As soon as we received the steak we could tell it was not good from the colour. the service was reasonable and polite. saving grace was the mushroom sauce which covered the taste of the meat and the price
Youssef El Hamdaoui El Hamdaoui★★★★★
Excellent restaurant with great service. The steak was very good, the food overall was delicious, and the staff were attentive, professional, and polite throughout the meal.
The only area for improvement would be the fries, which were a little soft. Other than that, everything was excellent. Highly recommended.

Incredible food. Dynamite chicken was best I’ve ever had in my life, the mashed potatoes and red meat dishes were splendid. Only here for a few days will go back. It’s so good.

We picked up 2 dishes to eat at home for my birthday dinner and we were excited because of the great reviews. We shared some gyoza, which were nice, my boyfriend had the Pad Thai with chicken and barely had any chicken in it, so that was a bummer
My dish (Bo bun) was indeed really nice, however I found PLASTIC inside the salad which should absolutely never happen!
Nella★★★★★
Affordable food, we ordered the spicy menu 7.5€ each bowl. The spicy sauce is like Indonesian chili sauce. Personally, I don't think it's really spicy. The portion is big even though we ordered the smallest bowl (medium size). The staff is nice.
g.l.c★★★☆☆
Samaki is a neighborhood eatery where ordering is primarily done through a machine however there was no English option available, so we had to order at the counter. The portion sizes were surprisingly generous. While the taste was alright, it seemed to cater mainly to local preferences, as evidenced by the simple Japanese Fried Ramen dish. The price was acceptable for the amount of food received.
Valentijn★★★★★
Food is very simple but effective. Rice in a bowl with fried chicken bits and your choice of sauce. Yet somehow, it was a hearty and yummy experience. More importantly, the lady staff provided exceptional service. Despite having to multi-task on the headset taking calls, and despite our lack of French, her contagious positivity and friendliness deserved praise.

Visited twice during my trip to Nice. Very generous portions at a considerable affordable price. I had thr shawarma on both visits. My sister enjoyed her burger as well. As the portions were generous, my sister opted for the kid's menu the following day which filled her up nicely. Halal.

Listen, tbh the food is good but that service is so horrible. You could order but it will take an hour. Once we wait 30 min then they say cash only? So bullshit. If you want good food great come here but be prepared to wait an hour.

Very generous portions of grilled lamb and chicken, and everything was delicious. The staff was friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. It’s also one of the few restaurants that’s open late at night, so it’s a great option if you’re looking for a good meal after most places have closed.

We took the couple's menu and it really satisfied us. Very much recommended by us from Italy . And the waitress Sarah was very welcoming and veey kind. It just happened that one bathroom wasn't working well, but i still would go there to eat oftenly.

Not happy. Spent 92.00 and one of the things i ordered was a family chicken and rice meal. X2 chicken missing and all the rice so thats 25.00 of food missing. I am touring and not in area. I contacted but no response. Burgers were not nice as too sweet and bulky with too much sauce. Pasta was fine. Chicken was dry. Chips soggy. Spent a lot for not much.
Percival Montgomery★★★★★
Amazing place! The chicken was super tender, juicy, and full of flavor. Portions are generous and everything tastes fresh. The staff is really friendly and welcoming, and the service was fast even when it was busy. Great atmosphere too. Definitely one of the best spots for grilled chicken in Nice, I’ll be coming back for sure!
Travelling & Exploring★★☆☆☆
Went there with high expectations. The food came within 5 mins of ordering. The chicken was bland, no taste. Just covered in some sauce. Its not like Nandos if thats what you are expecting.

I had food from this place delivered to my house yesterday.
I've had the runs (diarrhea) all day long today!! Never again!!
Owners should take responsibility for the cleanliness and quality of their food!!! But of course, it's France!!! They are never wrong!!!

It is a nice restaurant located near the main train station and hotel area. The owner is very nice and friendly. Our original plan was just to have some tea, but er ended up having a great dinner.
We ordered Chicken Karahi with cheese naan, garlic naan, tea with butter naan, and a sweet lassi. The cheese naan tested amazing, and we ended up ordering several more nana's.
Overall, we really enjoyed the food and the friendly service. I would highly recommend this restaurant and would definitely love to visit again.
Markku★☆☆☆☆
The worst Indian food I have ever eaten. Mixed grill was some left over meats with no taste, no chutneys or dips. Korma type food also tasteless.
They also scam with the prices: we ordered a mixed grill for two and they charged for two mixed grills for two! We refused to pay and they finally took one portion off the bill, so instead of 83€ we paid 70€ including drinks, for three persons. Should have been about 58€.
I don’t usually do reviews but this place had good reviews so we chose to try it, and it turned out to be something totally different so people must be warned about this place. I have been to dozens of Indian restaurants all over the world because I love Indian food, but this place is among the worst!

Stumbled upon this gem. The owner is nice and chatty but will sell you stuff when you really don’t want to order it. The cheese naan was really good tho! If you’re coming for a taste of home- this might be not it completely it but it can get close enough

Great Indian food with jain options very homemade and fresh food with good blend of masalas .Yasir took special care for our jain dietary requirements and the cheese naan was superb

Ali from pindi was great a very nice person taking the order but other tall guy who was bossing poor Ali, around, what a looser, lacks even the basics of manners, this guy was so bad he doesn’t even know the norms of conversation. He wouldn’t even know etiquettes even if it hit them. We asked this pagal simple question is the tea made fresh to which he replied no we keep it in the fridge what a stupid person to reply so stupidly, Shane on you. Let’s talk food absolutely horrible food it’s not even worth talking about. Stay away from this dump, worst food ever.

The Vibe & Atmosphere
**Beirut Grill House** captures that perfect, It perfectly balances a casual, friendly atmosphere with exceptional, restaurant-quality service.
### 🧆 The Food
* **The Grilled Chicken Platter:**
The chicken taouk is a highlight—perfectly skewered, beautifully charred on the outside, and incredibly juicy on the inside. It’s served alongside a generous portion of fragrant vermicelli rice, an authentic, punchy garlic sauce (toum), and velvety smooth hummus. The drizzle of olive oil and a few vibrant pomegranate seeds on top add a wonderful pop of freshness and flavor.
* **The Mixed Mezze Feast:**
If you want to experience the true depth of Lebanese flavors, this is an absolute must-try. The variety and execution are phenomenal:
* **Crispy Pastries:** Golden-brown, perfectly fried savory *sambousek* and crisp, flavorful falafel.
* **Authentic Dips:** A fantastic spread including classic hummus, smoky eggplant dip (*mutabbal*), and a rich, deeply flavorful red pepper dip (*muhammara*).
* **Fresh Sides:** A brilliantly green, finely chopped *tabbouleh* salad, tender stuffed grape leaves, and savory, comforting stewed green beans
Everything is remarkably fresh, vibrant, and seasoned to perfection. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an authentic, high-quality Mediterranean meal!

I honestly never write reviews, but this place deserved one.
We walked in literally 5 minutes after they had already closed, fully expecting them to tell us they were done for the night. Instead, Alessandra and Mo welcomed us in with the biggest smiles and treated us like we were their first customers of the day. Never once did they make us feel like we were inconveniencing them.
We ordered the chicken shawarma wrap and the kebab & kefta plate… and wow. Genuinely an 11/10. Everything was ridiculously flavorful, cooked perfectly, and just one of those meals where every bite makes you stop and look at the person you’re with like, “This is insane.”
As our first meal after landing in Nice, I seriously couldn’t have asked for a better start to the trip. The food was incredible, but the hospitality is what we’ll remember the most. Alessandra and Mo made us feel so welcome, and that’s something you can’t fake.
Honestly… we might end up coming back tomorrow before we leave because it was that good.
If you’re staying in Nice and you don’t stop by Beirut Grill House, you’re honestly making a mistake. This will be one of the easiest recommendations I’ll make to anyone coming here. We’ll 100% be back.

Amazing dinner! Do not let the simple decor fool you… this is a top grade food experience. The food is prepared by a long counter, right next to the dining area, so nothing hidden. The lady owner made us feel welcome right from the start with her incredibly friendly manner. We ordered a mix of meze dishes and each one was to die for. I think we impressed her that we cleaned out every plate. At the end of the meal we were offered a plate of dessert and fruit. Also yummy! I can HIGHLY recommend this restaurant.
Serge M.★★★★★
Not sure where to start but our experience here has been more than amazing.
Brigitte, took really good care of us. We even asked her and the team about suggestions on what to order and they gave us great advice.
We had Taboulé which was phenomenal. And, we ordered different types of sandwiches which were equally tasty and most importantly came all, hot. Generous portions too.
We ended our lunch with some coffee and a very yummy plate of Lebanese sweets.
Would definitely come back whenever we’re in Nice!

Coming from NW london, I have the pick of the finest Lebanese Restaurants. I am spoilt for choice and the quality bar is very high in london……..This place broke the bar and set new standards ‘a real home-to-home experience!’

Food was very good. So many vegan options. As a vegan one of the best feelings. Starters were so good (spicy dip was so good, didn’t expect it to be that spicy but i loved it and ate all of it). Service was 10/10, very friendly. Atmosphere was very chill, music was nice and noise level was perfect to talk

The restaurant is located in the old town. It offers both indoor and outdoor seating and it’s clean. You can see the kitchen from both the street and inside. The background Bollywood music elevates the atmosphere.
We started with the samosas and onion bhajis, served on a thali with a variety of sauces. Both starters were delicious. For the mains, we ordered two chicken dishes, mixed biryani and garlic naan. While the prices are slightly on the higher side, the portion sizes are generous. Downside is that rice isn’t included with the main dishes, so you’ll need to order it separately. We especially loved the Chicken Bharta. It was rich and flavorful. The other dishes were also tasty.
The food and water were served in copper dishes, which added a lovely traditional touch. The service was friendly and attentive. The server checking in on us.

We were in here on Friday March 20th, around 7pm.
We shared a Chicken Tikka &
the wife ordered a Lamb Madras & i ordered a Lamb Vindaloo.
We had a Lemon Rice & a Garlic Naan.
I told the waitress that i Like a British Hot Vindaloo so Not to worry if they thought it would be too hot.
She brought out a range of little pots ranging in heat, all of which were flavoursome.
We also had ½ a ltr of the House Red, which was very drinkable.
All the food was Very Nice & Cooked well, the Lamb was extremely tender.
The Vindaloo wasn't as hot as a B.I.R. ( British Indian Restaurant ) curry, Which i knew before i ordered, BUT Absolutely Nothing Whatsoever was left.
The waitress was Really Nice & Very Helpful, the waiter too was a Very Happy, Smiley & polite fella.
After paying the bill i spoke to the chef & complimented him on all the food & his cooking ability, telling him that i'd been cooking B.I.R. standard food now for 3yrs.
We will 100% go back next time we are in Nice & I would 100 recommend the place, it reminded me of The Cavern in Liverpool
Sargam Jindal★★☆☆☆
The food was bad. My friend ordered butter chicken masala and I had Veg biryani.
The biryani had no flavour AT ALL. It was like no salt or spice or anything.
I had to add some coriander chutney and salt myself to make it a little edible.
The butter chicken was SWEET.
I am Indian, this is not how the Indian food should taste like.
The owner was nice. But I wouldn't recommend the place because of the food.

🤤 Delicious
I took a chicken wrap and it was really delicious to be honest.
The only downside is the service which is really confusing, they don’t really call you when the order is ready so it’s hard to understand when you’re supposed to receive your order.
P.S. Biggy sauce is so freaking delicious!

It feels like a McDonald’s-style concept but with different food options. The staff was friendly, though we had to wait almost 35 minutes for our order. The food was tasty, but portions were on the smaller side. Sandwiches are priced between €6–8.

This restaurant had really good fast food. I tried the Dynamite Naan Burger and the Beef Steak Wrap both were tasty and juicy. They also have many halal options, which is great. However, the service was a bit slow, but overall, it’s a good fast food place.

Didn’t even eat here because the service was horrible!! We got there and I politely asked for a Napkin to wipe the dirty table that hadn’t been cleaned and got a very rude “WHAT!?” Response. I clarified with her what I wanted, she gave me the napkins and me
And my partner left, very rude, don’t recommend!!!

I recently visited a O' Turkish restaurant and had a really enjoyable experience. I tried their wings platter and kunafa, and both dishes were incredibly tasty. The wings were flavorful and perfectly cooked, while the kunafa was rich, sweet, and absolutely satisfying.
The quality and quantity of the food were both very good, making it great value for money. The place itself was neat, clean, and well-maintained, which made the dining experience even more pleasant.

Safran was a fantastic discovery. With its charming location facing the old harbor, it sets the stage for an excellent dining experience. The food is impressively authentic — the kabab koobideh was tender and full of flavor, and the joojeh kabab was perfectly marinated and grilled. Traditional accompaniments added to the quality of the meal. We finished with bastani, the saffron ice cream, which made the evening unforgettable.

I really loved this restaurant.
We ordered Barg kebab, Soltani, and Koobideh, and all three were excellent.
You can truly experience the authentic taste of Iranian food here.
I highly recommend giving it a try!

An outstanding Lebanese dining experience in Nice! The food was authentic, fresh, and full of flavor. Every dish was prepared with great attention to detail, from the mezze to the grilled specialties and desserts. The ingredients were clearly of high quality, and the presentation was excellent.
What truly made the experience special was the owner. He was incredibly welcoming, attentive, and passionate about Lebanese cuisine. He took the time to greet guests personally and made everyone feel at home. His hospitality and genuine care for customers created a warm family atmosphere that is hard to find.
If you’re looking for authentic Lebanese food in Nice, this restaurant is a must-visit. Delicious food, exceptional service, and an owner who truly cares about his guests. I highly recommend it and will definitely return!

One of the best meals we had in Nice. Near our hotel, had not planned dinner yet and walked by this lovely little grill with outdoor seating. Food was excellent, staff very friendly to our poorly spoken French. Seriously one of the best Dinners on our trip. We will go again and suggest you do too while visiting Nice.

I went by myself, and was seated almost immediately. There are quite a few brunch options, both savoury and sweet. If you don’t know what you’d like, the person taking your order is very helpful and patient. I got the gourmet brunch, with eggs Benedict and French toast, that came with a cold juice and a hot beverage. Everything was delicious and well cooked. It’s also a lot of food, which I couldn’t finish 😅. The presentation of the food is also very on point. I would 100% go back on a next trip. The staff is VERY kind and friendly. Excellent brunch option.

Friendly and fast service. Food was out extremely fast and was very delicious. Perfect location right in front of the train station so it made things very easy for us while traveling around. Even with the crowds service was still fast and no waiting on anything. Definitely a recommendation if in the area or needing something close to the train station.

Visited Le Kawa with a group. They offer a great variety of dishes covering both sweet and savory cravings. However, the menu structure is confusing, and checking it on their website is a hassle because of an unoptimized layout before you can order at the counter.
The kitchen does a good job with the savory items, and the desserts are perfectly fine, though they need to make sure hot drinks are served hot, not room temperature. Service was slow during our visit, and the kitchen timing was off (dishes came out in a random order instead of together, for some the sweet dishes came first and for the rest of us the salty dishes).
The team working there is lovely and very friendly, but for the overall atmosphere and pacing, there are alternative brunch spots in town that offer a smoother experience.

Delicious fresh benedict eggs and my father also said that the eggs were very nice too.
The staff was nice as well.
I almost forgot about their pistachio latte that was also pretty tasty.
11/10 would recommend.

Very disappointing experience at Beef Grill. The steak arrived less than 5 minutes after ordering, which immediately raised concerns about freshness and quality. The meat was mostly fat, poorly prepared, and extremely overpriced for what we received.
The service was also terrible dirty dishes were piled everywhere on the counter, and the overall cleanliness and atmosphere were not acceptable.
I would absolutely not recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Nice. Avoid this place.

Amazing place with a very beautiful view and a lovely atmosphere. The food was delicious – we really enjoyed the chicken kebabs, rice, vegetables, and mojitos. Everything was incredibly tasty. The waiters were friendly and attentive, and the interior of the restaurant is absolutely beautiful. We had a wonderful experience and would definitely come back!

Don’t believe the luxurious Photos/Vibe of the “Restaurant”
They serve “Cocktails” without an Alcohol Licence so they are actually Mocktails
It took 40 minutes to be seated.
Another 45 minutes to be asked what we wanted to order, Yes 45 Minutes. This isn’t because the place was full as there were plenty of empty tables just awful service
Waiter that took our order couldn’t have been less interested & was more focused on other staff seating people in the right place
We saw 5, yes 5 different groups/couples leave once seated as the service was so so slow
The “Steaks” we ordered were overcooked and one inedible so was left after a couple of bites.
I repeat - Don’t believe the luxurious Photos/Vibe of the “Restaurant”. What a waste of an evening

So disappointed after hearing a good recommendation. Lovely atmosphere but the rib eye steaks had grizzle and very poor quality of beef. Our group was also so disappointed that there was no wine available. The side potato and vegetables were good but overall such a disappointment. While the overall ambience was lovely but the loud music was more suitable to a dance bar.

Yes, a level 8 Google foodie fell for these fake ratings. We went there a few weeks ago and hoped to enjoy a 4.7 rated restaurant. To make it short, please read all the reviews that posted more than 20 times on google maps:
I cannot agree more with all the points that others already pointed out, hence here is a summary:
Negativ:
- no bread. Other tables had bread and I had to ask them proactively after 30 min for some bread
- loud music: seriously, eating at this restaurant feels like eating at a nightclub. I really don’t understand
- beef quality: medium to this restaurant is kinda full on rare. Not only was the meat quality bad but also uneditable. Please refer to the pics.
- toilet was sooo dirty and had no toilet seats
- we waited over 1 hour for our food while the restaurant was empty.
- no alcohol license
Positiv:
-staff was friendly and tried their best. Hence no complains here.
It seems like the place for lots of good ratings so we might have ordered the wrong food. Many people ordered the burger so maybe that’s their signature dish. But honestly, I never had the feeling of leaving a restaurant so badly.
Practical Tips for Finding Halal Food in Nice
While the list above provides a fantastic starting point for your culinary exploration, understanding the local dining landscape can significantly enhance your experience. The concept of “halal” in France is well-established, but the styles of cuisine and levels of certification can vary.
Being prepared and knowing what to look for will ensure that you can dine with confidence and discover hidden gems beyond the main tourist hubs.
1). Look for the Certification: Many restaurants display a halal certificate from organizations like AVS, ARGML, or the Great Mosque of Paris. If you don’t see a sign, don’t hesitate to politely ask the staff, “Est-ce que la viande est halal?” (Is the meat halal?).
2). Explore Beyond the Tourist Trail: While the Old Town (Vieux Nice) has some excellent options, venturing into neighborhoods like Liberation or L’Ariane can lead you to authentic, family-run establishments where the prices are often lower and the flavors are more traditional.
3). Understand the “French Taco” Craze: In Nice, you will see many shops selling “French Tacos.” This is not a Mexican taco; it is a grilled flour tortilla wrap filled with halal meat (often chicken or merguez), cheese sauce, and fries. It is a must-try local fast food staple.
4). Check for Alcohol Service: In France, it is common for restaurants to serve alcohol. If you prefer a strictly dry establishment, look for signs that say “Sans Alcool” or ask before you sit down. Many dedicated halal restaurants do not serve alcohol, but some mixed ones might.
5). Timing is Everything: The French eat dinner late, usually starting around 7:30 PM or 8:00 PM. If you want to avoid crowds or ensure you get a table at a popular spot, consider arriving right when they open for dinner service or making a reservation.
The evolution of the halal food scene in Nice is a testament to the city’s growing diversity and culinary openness. You no longer have to settle for a simple sandwich or a basic plate of rice; you can indulge in gourmet experiences that respect your values. The restaurants listed here range from quick-service counters to sit-down dining rooms, offering the flexibility needed for any travel itinerary.
As you wander through the sun-drenched streets of the French Riviera, let your taste buds lead the way. Whether you are refueling after a day at the beach or sitting down for a leisurely dinner with family, these establishments offer the warmth of hospitality and the assurance of quality. Enjoy the rich tapestry of flavors that Nice has to offer, knowing that every meal meets the standards you hold dear.
