10 Halal Restaurants near the Panthéon

Finding a memorable meal in one of Paris’s most historic districts can feel overwhelming, especially when you have specific dietary requirements. The area surrounding the Panthéon is a vibrant hub of intellectual history, stunning architecture, and bustling student life, which means the dining options are vast. However, if you adhere to a Halal diet, the search for authentic, permissible cuisine requires a bit more precision. You don’t want to settle for a generic tourist trap when you could be enjoying a rich, flavorful meal that respects your values.

The 5th arrondissement, known as the Latin Quarter, is fortunately more diverse than its ancient facades might suggest. Over the years, the influx of international students and visitors has cultivated a rich tapestry of global cuisines. From the aromatic spices of the Middle East to the sizzling grills of South Asia, there is a hidden world of Halal dining waiting to be explored just steps away from the majestic dome of the Panthéon.

Whether you are a student studying at the Sorbonne, a traveler exploring the Rue Mouffetard, or a local resident looking for a new favorite spot, convenience matters. You want to know where you can grab a quick, delicious shawarma between lectures or where to sit down for a lavish dinner after a long day of sightseeing. This guide aims to bridge the gap between your dietary needs and the culinary treasures of the Left Bank.

We understand that "Halal" can mean different things to different people, and standards can vary. While some restaurants are strictly certified and alcohol-free, others offer Halal meat but serve alcohol on the premises. We have curated a list that prioritizes establishments known for their commitment to Halal sourcing, while also highlighting the atmosphere so you can choose the best fit for your comfort level and dining occasion.

Get ready to trade the standard crêpe stand for a journey through global flavors. You are about to discover that you don’t have to travel far from the Panthéon to find incredible kebabs, fragrant biryanis, and hearty North African couscous. The Latin Quarter is ready to serve you a meal that is as soul-satisfying as it is compliant.

Here are the top ten Halal-friendly restaurants located within walking distance of the Panthéon, selected for their quality, authenticity, and proximity to this iconic landmark.

★★★★★ Oulala truly lives up to its name — what a delightful experience! From the moment we walked in, the service was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The staff made us feel comfortable without being overbearing, which made the whole evening even more enjoyable. The food quality was outstanding. Every dish was beautifully presented and packed with flavour — you can really taste the care and freshness in the ingredients. It felt like authentic French dining done right. The ambience tied everything together perfectly — cozy, elegant, and relaxed. Whether for a date night or a special gathering, Oulala creates the perfect setting. Highly recommended, and we’ll definitely be back!

This was honestly one of the best meals I’ve had in Paris. The fact that it’s halal makes it even better. I had the steak and the duck and both were amazing. I’m from Texas and I’ll say it straight up this steak tasted better than anything I’ve had back home. The owner Beja was super genuine and really took care of me. It was my first time ever trying duck and he was very patient and made sure I liked it which I definitely did lol. You can tell he actually cares about the food and the people he serves. Great food great vibes and great service. I would 100 percent come back and recommend this place to anyone visiting Paris.

A nice halal rustique restaurant with a very comforting vibe. There was a lovely fire in the middle of the seating area, fast service and very nice food. The home made chips were absolutely amazing A+++ The pricing was very fair, I recommend to all who may be passing through

A fantastic spot with amazing flavor—loved the lamb and the unique Middle Eastern twist on the Caesar salad! (4.5 Stars) We stopped by Los Brothers and had an absolute treat of a meal! The grilled meats and fresh salads here really stand out from your typical fast-casual spot. The Lamb Skewers: Cooked to perfection—tender, full of rich flavor, and beautifully seasoned. If you enjoy authentic, well-spiced grilled lamb, this is a must-order. The Caesar Salad (Priya’s absolute favorite!): Usually, we find standard European or original Caesar salads a bit plain or overly heavy, but Los Brothers does an incredible Middle Eastern/spiced take on it. Packed with flavorful chicken and fresh toppings, it completely elevated the dish. It was easily the star of the table! The Bulgur Wheat: A brilliant side option instead of heavy starches—warm, comforting, and wonderfully seasoned. Minor feedback: The only real downside was the french fries, which turned out a bit too oily and soggy for our taste, so we ended up leaving most of them behind. That small point aside, everything else was a solid 4.5/5 stars. Great food, generous portions, and wonderful flavors. We will definitely be back when we want a high-protein, flavorful bite in Paris!

Avoid this place at all cost the food was absolutely appalling disgusting chips tasted like a strange flavour from the oil that I couldn't even understand. The onions tasted foul and off. The staff were so so so so rude including the guy almost sweating directly on to the food. the food speaks for itself truly truly disgusting. Avoid this at all costs go across the road. This place needs learn how to speak to customers and deliver decent food. clean your oil fry the chips smile and take the money. It smells off!! I am so angry i paid for this

We went to Los Brothers for our last dinner in Paris, and wow — what a way to end the trip. The place was absolutely buzzing. People were constantly coming and going, and it was clear this spot is popular for a reason. Even with how busy they were, the service was top notch. The staff stayed on top of everything, made sure we had what we needed, and kept things moving without ever making us feel rushed. We ordered the platter to share, and it was so good. Everything was flavorful, fresh, and perfectly cooked. It’s one of those meals where you keep saying, “You have to try this,” back and forth across the table. Every bite delivered. One of the best parts? Everything is halal, which made it an easy and comfortable choice for us. Huge thank you to the team at Los Brothers for such a great experience. Keep killing it — we’ll definitely be back next time we’re in Paris!

Loved the chicken here, it was so juicy and tender. We ordered a curry Poulet which came with two sides and the salad. It was a very generous portion and the restaurant was air conditioned (we dined during the heatwave so really helped). The menu was halal and the server was very courteous and entertained us in English.

I love this place. Their food is very delicious and every time I come to France, I drive straight out to this place to eat there. Mix plates are so full and you can even share as the portions are very big. It’s almost like a mom and Pop store so the service is very good. The place is clean and comfortable seating.

Turkish kebab spot that gives generous portions. Came here for dinner after a long day of sightseeing and we wanted to grab something to eat back in our hotel. They do have seating available. Credit cards and cash accepted. The kebabs come with fries on the side and a tasty sauce. They do have vegetarian options (falafel).

Kehribar quickly became one of those rare places you can’t stop thinking about after you leave. I went for lunch yesterday with my wife, and the food was so outstanding that we found ourselves coming back again tonight for dinner with another couple. That alone says everything. From the moment you step inside, you’re wrapped in a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. The aromas of the food immediately pull you in, and the friendliness of the staff makes you feel at home right away. The vibes flow seamlessly from outside to inside—warm, inviting, and full of character at every turn. The food is truly exceptional. The Istanbul grill for two is absolutely perfect—generous, beautifully cooked, and packed with deep, rich flavors. Every bite was memorable. The 7-variant appetizer plate is a fantastic way to explore a variety of cold mezes, each one fresh, vibrant, and full of authentic taste. The service was excellent throughout our visit, attentive without ever being intrusive. What really stood out was the chef’s genuine desire to make guests feel like family—you can feel the care and pride in every dish that comes out of the kitchen. Kehribar is more than just a meal; it’s an experience. Warm hospitality, incredible food, and an atmosphere that makes you want to stay longer and come back again. Highly, highly recommended. Best part - it’s a full halal menu!

What a great find! Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful, especially when it came to translating the menu and assisting us whenever needed. We sat at the tables in front of the main preparation area, which gave the place a lively atmosphere, but there’s also another room next door with a few additional tables if you prefer a quieter spot. We ordered the Mediterranean dish and the döner plate, and the portions were amazing. The döner dish came with a small salad, fries, and a side of rice, making it incredibly filling. The Mediterranean platter also included tzatziki, flatbread, and hummus — and every single component was exceptional. Everything was fresh, flavourful, and generously served. I honestly can’t recommend this place enough!!!

It is a must to try this restaurant especially for Muslim travellers. Amazing service, love the menu and the food! There is definitely something for everybody. Pls support this halal establishment if you are in Paris. On our recent visit there are no long lines for sure. The staff are humble and always helpful. Easy to get to on foot or by uber.

This is a short walk from Roosevelt Station, or about 15 mins walk from L’arc de Triomphe. We had dinner here, the service was decent as was the decor. The kids menus are superb, with very generous portions and will fill any child 7 or below easily. Drinks were super with great options. Lamb shank was delicious. However, the fried chicken steak and the house steak were quite dry and chewy, they were not great. That said, sides were all perfect. Gratin dauphinois was superb. The steak could have been an off-night (unlikely as we ordered two and they were the same!). Not amazing but still worth a visit as it’s not easy to get halal steak in Paris. All in all a great place to come and try.

The ambience is great..very cozy, chique vibes. Food comes out fast..ate mostly chicken. It's very rich and scrumptious. I couldn't finish all of it..but highly recommend. It's in a very trendy part of Paris. As a tourist I enjoyed it.

We were helped by Iman, and she was absolutely lovely! We arrived a little late, but she still helped us so kindly and made sure we had a great experience. She was very friendly, helpful, and professional. I would definitely come back here again. Iman is truly a top employee!

I discovered this halal restaurant online while visiting Paris, and it turned out to be quite easy to locate. I would definitely recommend booking in advance, as it can get fairly busy. The food itself was enjoyable. I had the hamburger, which was decent, while my partner ordered the chicken and rice dish, which was particularly well-prepared and full of flavour. Overall, the quality of the food and the convenient location made for a good dining experience. Unfortunately, the service did not match the standard of the food. The staff’s facial expressions and body language felt unwelcoming, which made us somewhat uncomfortable during our visit. To add to this, we were surprised when a tip was requested at the end, despite the lacklustre service. In summary, while the food and location are definite positives, the service leaves room for improvement.

Highly recommend the döner kebab, beef kofte, urfa kebab and lamb pirzola. The bulgur that comes as a side is also great. They serve complimentary turkish tea which is a nice way to end your meal. The food at this restaurant was excellent overall. We started with the chicken spring rolls, which were decent and a good way to begin the meal. For the mains, I had the ribeye steak, which was rich in flavour and cooked very well. My partner chose the lamb shank, one of their best-selling dishes, and thoroughly enjoyed it, it was tender and satisfying. What truly stood out, however, was the service. From the moment we arrived, the staff were welcoming and attentive, creating a comfortable and enjoyable dining experience. All in all, a great spot for both quality food and warm hospitality.

When searching for halal French cuisine Le Jumeyrah came up multiple times. Having visited two French establishments on my trip I would definitely recommend this one as the food definitely hit the spot with every dish being executed almost perfectly with the exception of the mashed potatoes which were just alright but not necessarily amazing. The duck which I had was perfectly cooked medium rare and accompanied by a robust soy glaze and sweet potato mash which made for an unexpected but brilliant combination. The service was also amazing with attentive waiters who made sure that our experience while at the restaurant was great. This place is a 10/10 and I would highly recommend it.

My wife and I had our first dine in Paris here for dinner and got to say, the service is friendly as well as attentive. We ordered Steak and Cheese Burger for the night and had no complaint. My only minor feedback was on the burger bun (BUT ITS JUST MY BIAS because I prefer a certain type) Overall, they were to kind but maybe was our first experience. TLDR; We're just happily satisfied with the night.
Wasim Afzal★★★★☆
Smart restaurant with upmarket decor . Trying to serve fine French cuisine. The lamb shank was amazing cooked slowly and falling off the bone. Unfortunately the Veal dish i had was poor. Really thin slices over cooked when i asked for medium and served with creamy pasta - it just didn’t go. The chicken pasty starter was nice and dessert was also good quality. Worth a visit but pick the steak or lamb

We decided to try both the Butter chicken and the Lamb biriyani and finally topped it off with some malai Kulfi. I'm actually writing this review right now while enjoying a bite of the incredibly succulent pieces of butter chicken. Honestly, what a truly remarkable dish it is! It was fine - standard Indian dishes (not very region specific) good flavour in the mains, but the rogan josh was not very hot. . The starters we had (onion bahji and veggie samosa) were a bit more mid, but that's my taste.

The food and service was excellent highly recommend. The best food in all of Paris. We were treated like kings and queens the chicken tikka massala and the okra were my all time favorite dishes. The garlic naan was perfection in every bite. The ice cream was insane so good. Wish I could re eat all the food again.

I am being generous here. Despite the other reviews, I will not be rushing back. We often stay locally and had not been here before, we didn't book just walked in, we were lucky in that they had a table. It soon filled up. Strange arrangement in that they leave a single poppadom on the table, regardless of number of people sitting, they then bring out a pickle tray, you may be able to ask for more poppadoms but we didn't see anyone do it. Now the bad bit, after using the pickle tray, they took it way, while still nearly full, and put it on another table for other guests. The food was tasty, the service was slow to poor, and when their card reader stopped working, to start with they blamed the customer, then they sent them to local ATM, which is all well and good, if you can draw money while overseas.

Tips for Finding Halal Food Near the Panthéon

Navigating the Parisian food scene requires a bit of local know-how, especially when you are looking for Halal options in a district known for its traditional French bistros. To ensure you have the best possible dining experience, keep these practical strategies in mind as you explore the area.

Look for Certification or Clear Labeling
In France, the most reliable indicator is often a visible certification logo (such as from the mosque of Paris or AVS) displayed in the window. If you do not see a sign, do not hesitate to ask the staff directly if the meat is "Halal." French restaurateurs are accustomed to this question and will usually give you a straightforward answer regarding their suppliers.

Distinguish Between "Halal" and "Middle Eastern"
Not every kebab shop or Middle Eastern restaurant serves Halal meat. While the cuisine is often associated with Muslim culture, some owners may source cheaper, non-Halal meat to cut costs. Conversely, some French or Italian restaurants in the area have begun offering Halal options to cater to the diverse student body, so don’t judge a restaurant solely by its cuisine type.

Explore the Side Streets of Rue Mouffetard
The main tourist drags often feature inflated prices and compromised quality. However, if you venture into the smaller perpendicular streets, such as Rue Daubenton or Rue de Lanneau, you will find hidden gems that cater specifically to locals and students. These establishments often rely on word-of-mouth reputation rather than foot traffic, which usually means higher quality food.

Consider the "Vegan/Vegetarian" Fallback
If you are dining with a mixed group or cannot verify the meat source, the Latin Quarter is packed with excellent vegetarian and fish restaurants. While this doesn’t satisfy a strict meat craving, Paris has elevated vegetarian cooking to an art form. This ensures you can dine safely without compromising on the quality of your meal or the ambiance of the evening.

Check for Alcohol Policies
Depending on your personal level of observance, you may want to check if a restaurant serves alcohol. Many Halal restaurants in Paris are fully "dry" (no alcohol), making them perfect for families. However, some higher-end establishments that serve Halal meat also serve wine. A quick phone call or a glance at the menu posted outside can clarify this before you sit down.

The area around the Panthéon is a living, breathing neighborhood, not just a museum piece. It is a place where the ancient and the modern collide, and this is beautifully reflected in its food. The availability of high-quality Halal dining here is a testament to the city’s evolving culinary identity, offering comfort food for those who live here and a welcoming table for those just passing through.

As you step out of the shadows of the Panthéon, let your senses guide you toward the scent of grilling meat and exotic spices. Whether you are in the mood for a quick bite on a park bench or a leisurely feast in a warmly lit dining room, you can do so with the confidence that your dietary needs are met. Bon appétit!
