Montmartre is one of Paris’s most magical neighborhoods, but it is also one of the hilliest. If you are traveling with children, choosing the right base can make the difference between a stressful trip and a seamless family adventure. Staying near the Sacré-Cœur Basilica places you within walking distance of charming cobbled streets, local bakeries, and some of the best views in the city.
However, not every hotel in this historic district is designed with families in mind. Many buildings are older, with narrow staircases, small elevators, or rooms that cannot comfortably accommodate more than two guests. Understanding which properties offer connecting rooms, cribs, and quiet courtyards is essential for a restful stay.
The area immediately surrounding the basilica can be lively, especially during peak tourist season. Families with light sleepers or young children may prefer accommodations on the quieter backstreets of the 18th arrondissement, just a short stroll from the main square. These locations offer a calmer atmosphere while keeping you close to the funicular and the Montmartre train.
Practical amenities matter when traveling with little ones. A hotel with a 24-hour front desk, luggage storage, and breakfast options can simplify your mornings before you head out to explore. Some properties also offer family suites with kitchenettes, which are perfect for preparing simple meals or storing snacks.
Proximity to public transport is another key consideration. The Anvers and Abbesses metro stations connect you quickly to the Louvre, the Eiffel Tower, and Disneyland Paris via the RER. Staying near these transit hubs means you can enjoy the village feel of Montmartre without sacrificing access to the rest of the city.
Safety and accessibility should never be overlooked. Many streets around the Sacré-Cœur are steep and paved with cobblestones, which can be tricky with strollers. Choosing a hotel on a flatter street or near the Montmartre funicular can save your energy for sightseeing rather than navigating difficult terrain.
Below is a curated list of family-friendly hotels near the Sacré-Cœur Basilica, selected for their spacious rooms, welcoming policies for children, and convenient locations.

We loved every minute of our stay at Hotel George. The staff were friendly and welcoming throughout! The location is fantastic and they kindly leave waters, soft drinks, juice, ample tea and coffee in the room daily. The downstairs pastry, sweet treats and snacks station is such a lovely touch and something that really sets them apart from other hotels.
It’s a short trip to Montmartre and other great spots in Paris.
No ask is too big or too small for the reception team and the room was cleaned beautifully each day.
The decor around the hotel is also fun and chic.

My family and I were very happy with our stay at this hotel. The staff were pleasant and friendly and the rooms were exactly as expected. The provided snacks in the lobby were not of the highest quality but still very much appreciated. The mini bar was stocked daily with one Pepsi, one juice, one sparkling water and two still waters. The location was excellent, with easy access to the metro and Montmarte and a nice view onto a very Parisian street!

It depends on a person’s tastes and preferences, but for a person like me who loves the energy of the Parisian people and their invaluable contributions in art, poetry, and philosophy, etc. and who wishes to join them in pursuit of Le Bonheur — in brief —I found my hotel. The hotel has assembled the coolest, nicest, most helpful and professional staff one could ever hope to encounter. Shout out to Sonia, Paul, Winston, and to Cee Cee who makes up the rooms. The rooms are well appointed: a safe, an excellent television, a little refrigerator stocked with cold water, and drinks, a comfortable bed, reading lights positioned at the head of the bed, a good shower, very good adjustable air conditioning, tall casement windows that open on to the animated streets below, and which when closed are virtually soundproof. It isn’t meant to be luxurious but practical & well considered, and eco-conscious . Situated near Rue du Martyrs, and close to the Metro to everywhere. From the hotel it is just a short hike uphill to Montmartre & Sacré Coeur. Everywhere you turn: cafes, bistros, farm-to-table markets. I could also feel the intangible presence of the great artists who the quartier inspired & nourished. I seemed to sense the soul of the workers who built this city over the centuries. As I said, it is a matter of one’s preferences, if you are the type of person who only travels in first class, or who expects to be pampered, you might find the hotel on the casual side, but for me, laid back and appreciative of any service rendered, the Hotel George, where I have so far had the pleasure of staying three times, checks all the boxes.

Very well located hotel, close to metro lines 12 and 2, close to pigalle and a lot of restaurants, bars and shops around. The reception staff is wonderful, welcoming and kind. Having stayed here several times my only comments would be that while in general the rooms are spacious for Paris, each room varies significantly in size. But always clean, functional, comfortable and including an alcohol-free mini-frige. Breakfast is decent with exception of the eggs which are either too wet, too dry, or cold.

Cool hotel with an excellent concept. You get a free minibar as well as snacks in the lobby. Also you can visit the lobby and their offering in other hotels of the chain which is excellent to explore paris. Rooms are small but good.

I travelled as a solo female to Paris and wanted a safe and nice hotel to stay at that was reasonably affordable and this ticked every box! So clean and decorated nicely. I stayed in the classic room which was spacious and comfortable for a 5 day stay. Toiletries provided and if you need more just ask and they have additional ones, ie: I forgot hair conditioner and they had it. Hotel has great amenities too, nice lounge areas and the best part was the sauna and gym ! They are in one space that is private, you book a 45 minute slot, which is great because you have it all to yourself and don’t have to share. Robes and slippers provided in there! The staff was very attentive and kind and they met every request I had with a smile. When it was raining, they provided an umbrella which was very handy as I forgot mine! Upon check out they stored my bags as I explored my last day. One other thing is it’s right next to the 95 bus, which is a fantastic bus line that runs straight to the center of Paris! Safe neighborhood too which was essential as a solo female traveler. I will definitely be staying here again.

We stayed at Hotel Barnett Paris for two nights and had a great experience. The location was excellent, making it easy to explore the city. The hotel was spotlessly clean, which is one of the most important things for me, and our room was spacious by Paris hotel standards. The reception staff were also incredibly friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and wouldn’t hesitate to book this hotel again the next time we’re in Paris. Highly recommended!

Elegant, comfortable and just one of those hotels that feels it has done everything right. About 10 mins walk to 2 subway stations, and 10 mins to the heart of Montmarte in a charming neighbourhood. The bed is so comfortable I didn’t feel like getting up each morning! Best of all, the lovely staff, all smiles and eager to recommend the best cafes and restaurants in the area. The rooms are slightly small but surprisingly well equipped. Overall an enjoyable stay and great base to explore Paris from
Florent Irakoze★★★☆☆
We stayed at Hotel Barnett Paris from 20–25 June in a Classic Double Room.
Overall, we had a pleasant stay, mainly thanks to the staff. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with a glass of sparkling wine and everyone we interacted with was friendly, professional, and helpful throughout our stay.
The hotel itself is beautifully designed. Our room and bathroom were very clean, modern, and well maintained. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the blackout curtains were excellent, making it easy to get a good night's sleep.
That said, the room was very small with very limited storage space. As a couple travelling with large suitcases, it became quite cramped very quickly. We also found it surprising that there was no mini fridge in the room.
The hotel offers parking, which is convenient, but the process is quite cumbersome. The parking garage is about 3–4 minutes away by car, not in the hotel itself. To access it, you need to collect a special key from reception, drive to the garage, and then immediately return the key to the hotel. Every time you want to access the parking, you have to repeat this process. Also, the parking spaces are very narrow, so drivers with larger cars or SUVs should keep that in mind.
Our biggest disappointment was the breakfast. For a 4-star hotel, we expected much more variety. The selection of fresh vegetables, charcuterie, and bread was very limited (especially surprising in France), and the coffee was served from large thermos flasks with only two options available. There were a few pastries and sweet items, but overall the breakfast felt quite basic. We've had much better breakfasts at other hotels in the same category.
The lobby and bar area were also underwhelming. It didn't feel like a place where you'd want to sit and have a drink, and the drinks selection was quite limited.
Finally, we think the hotel could improve its security. The lifts don't require a room key to access the guest floors, and during the evenings the receptionist was often in the back office instead of at the front desk. While nothing happened during our stay, it didn't give us the feeling of security we'd expect from a 4-star hotel.
Overall, Hotel Barnett has a lot going for it: lovely staff, comfortable beds, and beautiful interior design. However, the amenities and overall experience don't quite match what we'd expect from a 4-star hotel. With some improvements to the breakfast, parking system, bar, and security, it could be an even better place to stay.

We had a lovely stay at Hotel Barnett. We especially loved the gym and sauna which you can book once a day so that it’s private use only.
We also loved the coworking space and the breakfast was delicious. The staff were also amazing.
We had a small room but next time I would upgrade us into a slightly larger room.
The neighborhood is cute with lots of good restaurants and cafes, many of them catered to locals but people also spoke English in the area for non-French speakers like us.
We would come back to the hotel and neighbourhood in a heartbeat.

If you’re looking to be based in Montmartre, then the location works great. It is pretty far from the city center and we took an Uber when we headed into the main part of the city. The room was very spacious and had all the amenities we needed. Loved that there was a coffee machine available in the lobby 24/7 too. Laundry was a big plus!
Karin Skoog★★★★★
We stayed at Yuna Montmartre during the heatwave and enjoyed the air conditioning in both the apartment and the lobby. The location was excellent, and the hotel was very functional; it had everything we needed, including free-to-use laundry facilities for guests. The staff were very helpful, and the complimentary coffee in the lobby created a welcoming, generous atmosphere. They also helped us ship home a speaker we had left behind, at no extra cost.

These people really know what they're doing. Excellent communication. Fantastic accomodation and exceptionally clean. I think apartment hotels like this are so much better than a standard hotels for families and it would be difficult to top Yuna. The detail in everything. Even the scent in the corridors is beautiful. BTW what is it? Would love to buy for my own home! Could not recommend highly enough and will be returning.
Andrea Eadie★★★★★
Honestly this place was perfect. Super spacious and well stocked apartment with very comfortable beds - even the pull-out couch was comfy! Very family friendly with a nice baby crib for our infant. Such an amazing neighbourhood - albeit a bit far from the main tourist attractions of Paris, but worth the additional metro/bus time to get to things. My only complaint is that the floors of the apartment were a bit dirty, but otherwise the apartment was spotless. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!
Paul M★★★★★
We had the most pleasant stay in a fantastic room: well designed with taste, all equipment needed, very comfortable beds, super clean and all this perfectly located in quite street just next door to grocery shops, restaurants, few bus stops and Montmartre. Adding to this a very welcoming and responsive staff made our stay just perfect! Highly recommended!

Our room was compact but spotlessly clean. We only stayed two nights but our room was serviced and left beautiful for 2nd night. We appreciated your hospitality, close to 95 bus *you need to buy a ticket before you can travel around from a main station or online. (Gard du nord) or similar.

A nice enough hotel. Small rooms but it done the job. No air con which wouldn't have been an issue if it wasnt 35 degrees. The hotel did provide fans and we could open the windows. Breakfast was fine. Overal, a nice enough stay.
Pippa Russell★★★★☆
The room was comfortable although the bathroom part being open and the toilet unlockable makes it unsuitable for sharing the room with someone you aren't intimate with. The room was small but sufficient, if you intend it only as a sleep stop, then it works. Sound wise it wasn't the best but could have been far worse (some noisy pipes, a snoring neighbour, the occasional siren).
The breakfast was excellent and fresh ( we were there for 7:50 for a start at 7:00) although the breakfast room was very cramped, and the news channel on the tv could have maybe been avoided (not great to hear about wars while sipping coffee on a relaxing getaway).
The staff were helpful, welcoming and clear (French was not the first language of some staff but that didn't mean they weren't professional).
Overall, a convenient and qualitative address with good value.

We booked this hotel as part of a package for a cruise, the photos shown were nothing like the hotel room we got. Luckily we missed the heatwave in Paris as the room just had a crappie old fan. The elevator to the first floor was out as well. Not impressed at all, but the staff were very nice.

Everything was good, the host and receptionist was really friendly. We checked in around 23:00h. Rooms are nice and spacious, cleaned every day. You have a towels, bathing accessories... Only WC was a bit strange, because of rolling doors. Good connection to city center, area was safe at day and night. You can walk easy to Monmarte attractions. In conclusion we would probably stay here again.

The hotel has a very good location if you're exploring Montmartre. Nice cafes, bakeries are just around the corner. There is also a metro station nearby. Rooms are a lot nicer than in the pictures. The only thing I'd mention is that the walls are quite thin, so you can hear people talking in the other room. Well, that's Paris though.. just take your earplugs in case it'd bother you. I'd come back to this hotel again.

Firstly they canceled my booking because of their mistake of sending verification link on wrong email address. Then I had to rebook it for a higher rate. The staff was not welcoming or helpful. When I needed towels they told me to come down and collect it myself. Also I had an early morning flight so I informed the staff that I may need to checkout early around 5. They told me to tell them exact time. They did not even give any water and did not have any water fountain or something. They asked me to buy from the market. I was tired and exhausted and had to go and grab it. The cleanliness was bad, the towels in the room were with blood stains. Room was not clean

Well rooms are very small and walls are thin. Building must be very old but if you need a place to sleep in than this hotel is OK with its affordable proce, location and 7/24 someone at reception and they can speak very good English.

I was very pleased with my choice of hotel. It exceeded my expectations. The room was more than adequate and I found it to be clean. It was February but I was not troubled by noise. Everything worked well. I am 69 and the walk from Saint Lazare was fine. This hotel will be my first choice in future. The buffet breakfast was limited in choice but again, more than adequate. Staff at breakfast and reception were pleasant, efficient and helpful.

Had stayed previously in the sister hotel across the road, loved the area and wanted to stay again, but it was closed for refurbishment. They suggested the Saint George Lafayette and we stayed there. What a pleasant surprise. This is a new hostel and the fittings are all new. The bedrooms (dorms) are very clean and beds comfortable. Air-conditioning was great. Bathroom inside the dorms.
I have travelled extensively in hostels all over the world and this place is right up there in every quality.
The €8 breakfast was good value.
The staff were very helpful and kind.
I would recommend this place without hesitation. 5 Stars

Great Stay at The Playce Paris!
I had a wonderful experience staying here. The room setup is modern, exceptionally clean, and highly functional. The bunk beds are designed like private pods, featuring full-length privacy curtains that allow you to completely close off your space.
Inside each bed space, it is incredibly comfortable and well-equipped with personal amenities, including an individual reading light, a power socket, USB charging ports, and a couple of small wall meshes for storage. The room itself feels bright and airy, thanks to a large window that lets in plenty of natural light.
The ensuite bathroom facilities are equally clean and convenient. It includes a modern sink area, a well-maintained toilet, and a separate glass-door shower stall equipped with a reliable shower head and soap dispenser.

Warning: Do Not Stay Here!
My biggest regret was selecting this hostel. I have no idea how they got such high ratings on google. First of all, the place is filthy. The beds are fine but the carpets in the entry and stairwells and hallways are disgusting. It’s obviously a construction zone and not ready to receive guests. This should be made very clear at the time of booking.
Second, and most importantly, this is not a safe neighbourhood. There are a lot of drug users and homeless outside- it didn’t feel safe even at 10 am. I’ve been to Paris several times and it was my mistake not to check carefully the neighbourhood. All of the women I stayed with in the dorm had the same feeling of discomfort.
Finally the check in staff are very disinterested and unwelcoming, except Louise who is very kind. This place doesn’t have an uplifting vibe and for 50 euro a night go somewhere else. Go to Generator or Jo and Joe or literally any other hostel.
Photos attached.

Before checking the reviews, please consider the price for value.
Louise and her team are friendly and available at any time of the day. The room was clean, and the bathroom was pretty big and sunny. The location was super convenient for me.
Yes, they are undergoing renovations, but in the entrance and some floors. However, I was not impacted by it in any way. No noise disturbance on my side.
The popular neighbourhood might feel stressful for some. In my case, nothing to complain about.
Ellen de Buhr★☆☆☆☆
This was by far the worst hostel I've ever stayed in. The entire place is dirty, incredibly noisy, and feels more like a construction site than accommodation.
The rooms were not properly cleaned, and the bathrooms were in an even worse condition. Nothing looked like the photos, and the overall experience was extremely disappointing.
Save yourself the money and book somewhere else. I would strongly advise against staying here.

We had a wonderful stay at the Hotel Monsieur Aristide in the 18th. We stayed in a room with a terrace. The rooms are typical for quaint European hotels (small) but that’s not a problem for us. We loved to eclectic vibe. Staff was friendly and definitely would come back.

My cousin and I stayed for three nights at this lovely hotel in Montmartre. The rooms were tiny, but it didn’t matter since we were out most of the time. As it was my birthday trip, my cousin had arranged champagne and macarons to be waiting in the room on arrival, and the staff had everything perfectly set up when we checked in. They were incredibly helpful throughout our stay and also shared great local recommendations.

We had a good stay here on a long weekend in January. Staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is nicely decorated and stylish and I found the restaurant/bar area pleasant.
We had a standard room. Had everything we needed. But this is a city hotel and if you’re travelling with big suitcases you need a bigger room. Americans beware, this isn’t a Dallas metro Hilton with rooms you could play tennis in.
No issues with cleanliness or amenities as others have said. I found the bed very comfy.
No coffee in the rooms a bizarre choice. Throw us a few sticks of instant coffee why don’t you??

We had a lovely stay at this charming little hotel. The location is excellent and close to everything you need for a trip to Paris (metro, supermarket, cafés, and restaurants). It is within walking distance of both the Moulin Rouge and the Sacré-Cœur, yet on a small side street, making it pleasantly quiet at night.
The bed was super comfortable and we slept very well. Our request for two individual beds was granted without any problems. The room was naturally on the smaller side, as is common in Montmartre, but it was beautifully decorated, felt cozy, and thoughtfully designed and the AC came in handy.
The breakfast was a wonderful surprise and exceeded our expectations. There was an impressive selection of high-quality food: fresh fruit, various coffee specialties, juices, delicious cheeses and ham, smoked salmon, fresh baguettes, croissants, cereals, yogurt, egg variations and much more.
Overall, a fantastic choice for anyone looking for a comfortable and authentic stay in Paris. We would happily return.

Very nice room: Clean, organized, and comfortable. The hotel made a mistake and booked us into a single room rather than a room with two separate twin beds, however, they offered complementary breakfast as compensation and rectified the situation immediately by separating the beds the following morning. Bathrooms were very nice with strong, adjustable shower pressure and a bidet for the toilet. Good service with attentive and friendly staff. Overall very good with minor issues that were quickly and easily resolved.

Fantastic location on a quiet side street. Close to Moulin Rouge, but you'd never know for how peaceful it was! I appreciated the complimentary water in the room. Shower/bath was great with plenty of hot water. Staff were friendly and very helpful.

I highly recommend Hôtel Le Relais Montmartre, and I would definitely stay here again.
Day&Air★★☆☆☆
Extremely disappointing experience.
I booked a room through Booking.com for my girlfriend. Shortly after making the reservation, I received a message stating that my payment had been declined. Believing the reservation had failed, I immediately made the same reservation again to ensure she had a room.
When my girlfriend arrived at the hotel, the receptionist informed her that there were two reservations under her name. She immediately explained the situation, and the receptionist told her not to worry because it would be taken care of internally.
More than a month later, I discovered that I had been charged for both reservations.
I first contacted the hotel and was told they had only received one payment and that I should contact Booking.com. Booking.com then contacted the hotel on my behalf, after which I was informed that the hotel refused any refund because they claimed both reservations were valid, they had kept two rooms available, and that it was now too late to do anything.
This is completely inconsistent with what my girlfriend was told at check-in. The hotel was made aware of the mistake immediately, yet they are now denying any knowledge of it and refusing to take any responsibility.
I never intended to book two rooms for the same person on the same night. The duplicate reservation only happened because I was informed that the original payment had failed.
Very disappointing customer service and an unwillingness to help resolve what was clearly an honest mistake. I cannot recommend this hotel based on how this situation has been handled.

We spent a night at the Boronali and it was fantastic. We wanted a comfortable hotel in a good location and it delivered on both counts. We had a superior room, which didn’t cost much more than the standard rooms, and it was large, clean and had Juliet balconies with great views in the bedroom and the huge bathroom. It looks like the establishment has had a recent refurbishment. The lobby and our room were very modern and fresh. We were on the 6th floor and the classic Parisian lift isn’t for the claustrophobic. Luckily we aren’t so that wasn’t an issue.
There is free coffee, tea and sparkling water at all hours which was a bonus.
All the staff were super lovely too, and they have good recommendations for nearby places of interest and entertainment. In fact the neighbourhood has lots of wonderful bars and restaurants so you can’t go wrong anyway.
We are already planning a return visit ⭐️🇫🇷⭐️🇫🇷⭐️🇫🇷

Good location only 2 metro stops and a short walk from Paris Gard Du Nor. Lovely friendly, helpful staff, free tea and coffee in the breakfast room all day. Sacre Couer just a short walk from here and lots of local restaurants and cafés
Would definitely stay here again thank you for a good stay.

A lovely hotel. Easy to access all the tourist areas but lovely and quiet too. My overall experience with the hotel was good. The staff was always very friendly and helpful which is not always a given in Paris. I can’t say anything about the breakfast because I hadn’t booked it. But the option to book it spontaneously every day if wanted is also a big plus for the hotel.

Loved the hotel, and it was honestly the friendliest service I have every received in Paris. Stela was kind, warm and welcoming with her smile and conversation. Wonderful stay with exceptional service
Me and my friend Nadia stayed at Hôtel Eden Montmartre during our trip to Paris, and we had a truly lovely experience.
The hotel is charming, clean, and perfectly located calm, comfortable, and ideal for exploring the city. Our room was beautiful and cozy, and everything felt well taken care of.
What truly made our stay special, though, was Stella. She went above and beyond to make sure we were happy and personally ensured that we got the best room possible. Her kindness, professionalism, and warm attitude made us feel genuinely welcomed. You can tell she truly cares about the guests.
If you stay at this hotel, ask for Stella she is absolutely the best and makes all the difference.
We would 100% stay here again and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Paris. Thank you for such a wonderful stay!

DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! Absolutely terrible customer service and one of the most frustrating hotel experiences I have ever had.
I booked a 7-night stay and realized almost immediately—within about five minutes—that the reservation had been processed as non-refundable. I contacted the hotel right away, five months before the check-in date, but they refused to help at all.
What makes this even more ridiculous is that the hotel advertises “FREE cancellation up to D-1” on its own website. Only after I repeated complained did they claim that reservations longer than six nights are automatically non-refundable. This important restriction was never disclosed in the hotel’s advertised cancellation policy.
The hotel's attitude throughout the entire cancellation process was dismissive, rude and completely lacking in basic customer care. During one phone call, the staff even hung up on me.
I also formally asked the hotel to provide the name and contact details of its designated consumer mediator. Instead of answering the question, they sent me a generic French government webpage that did not identify their actual mediator.
I have dealt with many hotels and travel companies, but I have never been treated this badly by anyone in the hotel industry. The way this hotel handled a cancellation request made within five minutes—months before the stay—was unbelievably unreasonable.
To be clear, I did not stay at the property. This review is specifically about my genuine booking, cancellation and customer-service experience. Based on that experience, I would never book with Hôtel Eden Montmartre again. For anyone looking to book this hotel, be extremely careful and take screenshots of every cancellation condition before paying, and do not book unless you are prepared to lose your entire payment!!!

A lovely, welcoming hotel. Particularly appreciated the hospitality and professionalism of the owner. The hotel is a little on the small side, true, but that’s Paris, what do you expect? Had a great stay here as part of a work trip. Will definitely stay here again next time I’m in Paris.

Good hotel. Just a few mins from Pigalle and Blanche metros so you can go anywhere from here. Lots of boulangeries and super markets nearby as well. The rooms were a bit smaller than expected but that's just Paris in general.
I definitely recommend this place for the price point it's at. The rooms were clean and the service was good

Good value for money. We had a couple issues with a malfunctioning safe and a TV remote that didn’t work but other than that, we enjoyed our stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful where they could help. Great location, too, especially if you don’t necessarily need to stay in Le Marais. Quick métro ride away from Gare du Nord and easy to access Montmartre, Opéra, St Lazare, and the rest of the 9th.

A great little room with lovely views of the area.
The staff were friendly and welcoming.
Our only minor criticism was that the pillows were a bit hard.
I would definitely stay again.

We loved our stay in Hotel Apolonia. We stayed in the new rooms connected to the courtyard. The bed was very comfortable and the hotel felt safe and secure. It was odd that the entire bathroom was basically a shower, with no shower screen blocking the water from spraying onto the toilet and sink, however we grew accustomed to this and preferred it to a tiny shower cubicle!
The staff were all very friendly and accomodating.
Great location for exploring Montmartre and the rest of Paris!

My stay at Hotel Apolonia was really lovely. The team who worked there were all really nice, especially the two guys when I checked in (2pm Friday 13 March). I had a small issue with the room and they were straight on it and got it resolved super quickly with no drama. I really can't fault the service and support.
The location was perfect for me and I explored Central & Northern Paris on foot using it as a base. It's so near public transport options, but I didn't need them. I just walked up from Eurostar.
The rooms were small as people mentioned, but really reasonably priced for the location, spotlessly clean. As a solo traveller, they took the requests I made into consideration when allocating me a room, which I really appreciated. I had a little juliet balconette when I opened the windows wide and it looked onto the cute apartment block on the otherside of the road which was nice. There was a bit of noise from the street in the evening, but I always travel with earplugs so didn't bother me in the slightest. If you are going to stay fairly centrally in Montmartre near some great places to eat and drink, there is likely to be some people traffic. It also felt incredibly safe and even though I was on my own I was comfortable walking back at midnight.
I would absolutely choose the hotel again next time I return to Paris.
Also for any vegan travellers it's only minutes away from the nearest Land & Monkeys for tasty vegan patisserie and boulangerie treats.

Great location. Lots of restaurants and shops. Close to transportation. Charming neighborhood with cobblestone streets. You need to know that it gets loud at night since it’s a popular spot. Also, the rooms are extremely small but it won’t stop me from staying there again.

In spite of a mostly positive stay, unfortunately, my stay ended on a disappointing note. I requested and paid for a one-night extension of my booking. While my original reservation included breakfast, the extension did not and I was never informed of this difference despite interacting with multiple staff members, including two who asked my room number for breakfast on the final morning.
The surprise breakfast charge at checkout felt like an avoidable miscommunication and left a sour impression after an otherwise good stay, especially after the staff did not admitted it as an unsolicited or surprise sales.
I hope the hotel improves communication around booking extensions and inclusions and most importantly inform the guests if breakfast is not included when they welcome them to the breakfast area and check their room numbers to prevent similar experiences for future guests.

Very poor room cleaning service. This is our third night. The hotel insists on an environmental policy, basically they don’t clean your room unless you leave a sign. They don’t change or remove used cups, they don’t refill the coffee capsules. You leave the AC off just to return at night to a 17C room… all day on? Today we have arrived and found my night gown on the floor. Tiny rooms and poor service for a 200€/night minimum…
Tips for Choosing a Family Hotel Near the Sacré-Cœur
Selecting the right hotel involves more than just comparing prices or star ratings. The unique geography and historic architecture of Montmartre mean that families should pay close attention to practical details that might not matter in other parts of Paris. These tips will help you avoid common pitfalls and find a property that truly suits your family’s needs.
Check the elevator situation before booking. Many charming Montmartre hotels occupy historic buildings with tiny elevators or none at all. If you are traveling with a stroller or heavy luggage, confirm that the hotel has a functioning elevator large enough for your needs. Otherwise, a fourth-floor walk-up can quickly become exhausting.
Prioritize soundproofing and room location. Streets near the basilica can be noisy with tourists, street musicians, and late-night diners. Request a room facing an interior courtyard or a quiet side street. Hotels with double-glazed windows and thick walls will help your children sleep more soundly after a busy day.
Look for family rooms or connecting options. Standard Parisian hotel rooms are often compact. Before booking, verify the exact square footage and bed configuration. A family suite or two connecting rooms will give everyone space to relax and prevent the frustration of cramped quarters.
Consider access to a kitchenette or breakfast. Eating out for every meal with children can be expensive and time-consuming. A hotel that includes breakfast or offers rooms with a small refrigerator, microwave, or kitchenette gives you flexibility. You can start the day calmly and keep healthy snacks on hand.
Use the Montmartre funicular to save energy. The funicular near the base of the hill is included with standard metro tickets and is a lifesaver for families with strollers or tired legs. Staying within a short walk of the lower station means you can reach the Sacré-Cœur without climbing the steep stairs.
Book flexible rates when possible. Traveling with children often means plans change unexpectedly. Choose a hotel with a generous cancellation policy, especially if you are visiting during flu season or unpredictable weather months. This small precaution can protect your budget and reduce stress.
Finding the right family hotel near the Sacré-Cœur allows you to experience the artistic soul of Paris without sacrificing comfort or convenience. With a little planning, you can enjoy early morning walks to the basilica before the crowds arrive, then return to your hotel for a peaceful afternoon rest.
Montmartre rewards travelers who slow down and explore its hidden corners. Whether you are watching street artists at Place du Tertre, riding the carousel near the Abbesses metro, or enjoying a crêpe in a quiet square, the right accommodation makes every moment easier and more memorable.
