Paris has long been celebrated as a capital of haute cuisine, but its pizza scene has evolved into something equally worthy of attention. Over the past decade, the city has traded its reputation for soggy tourist slices for a vibrant culture of Neapolitan craftsmanship, wood-fired ovens, and high-quality Italian imports.
Today, Parisians take their pizza as seriously as their baguettes, and visitors can find everything from authentic charred-crust pies to creative Franco-Italian hybrids. The beauty of the Parisian pizza landscape lies in its diversity.
In a single afternoon, you can move from a tiny hole-in-the-wall serving strictly DOP San Marzano tomato pies to a chic bistro where the dough is fermented for 72 hours and topped with truffle cream. The city’s Italian community, combined with a wave of young French pizzaioli trained in Naples, has raised the bar considerably.
Unlike Rome or Naples, where regional styles dominate, Paris offers a curated selection of Italy’s best regional approaches under one roof. You will find the soft, blistered crusts of Naples sitting alongside the thin, crackling Roman “pinsa” style. This variety makes the city a surprisingly compelling destination for pizza purists and casual eaters alike.
Understanding the geography of Paris is key to a successful pizza crawl. The most concentrated clusters of excellent pizzerias are found in the 11th arrondissement, the Canal Saint-Martin area, and the lively streets of South Pigalle. However, a few standout destinations in the quieter residential quarters are worth the Metro ride.
Quality is the common thread connecting the best spots. Many top addresses import their flour from small mills in Italy, use fior di latte or buffalo mozzarella, and bake in hand-built ovens that reach temperatures exceeding 450°C. The result is a pizza that is light, digestible, and deeply flavorful.
Whether you are looking for a quick lunch, a romantic dinner, or a late-night slice after exploring the Marais, this guide covers the essential stops. Here are the 15 best pizza spots in Paris that consistently deliver exceptional quality, atmosphere, and value.

One of the best pizzas I had in my life. Never thought I would find it in Paris. On par with some of the best I tried in Naples and Ischia.
But it’s not just pizza. The rest was absolutely delicious too. We ordered the Greek salad too. The portion was huge and all the ingredients were super fresh and very flavourful. The sauce for the salad was fantastic.
The service was great too. They were very accommodative and found us a nice table. And very patient as we were modifying the pizza order with add ons.
Bravo to the whole team! I can’t want to go back when next in Paris.

Really like the ambience visited for lunch loved the vegetarian 🌱 options here
I had the puissan 4 looks like margarita but it’s actual taste really good with different combinations of cheese.
It’s air conditioned so won’t be any issue as I have visited during the 35 degree Celsius outside.
I really like the design of their plates

The entire place usually has only long tables, and you have to share them with other people, so it feels very cramped, does not have space to put your bags and belonging. That night, we already saw several groups who didn’t want to sit in the middle of the long table and left.
The dishes were all great and truly excellent.

At midday on Saturday I had an impromptu lunch at this restaurant, and it was an absolute delight. The food was incredibly delicious, and the service was exceptional. The staff was incredibly quick and attentive.
The pasta was ten times better than the pizza, even though the pizza was still good. The pasta had a much more flavorful and deeper taste. It was definitely the best bolognese I’ve ever had.
The only downside was that our server didn’t inform us about the possibility of having a menu. As a result, we ordered the entree and main dish separately and ended up paying more. We discovered later that we could have gotten the menu instead for cheaper.
Despite this minor inconvenience, the food and atmosphere were so good that we’ll definitely be returning to this restaurant.
Just a heads up, even though the place is large, it can get quite crowded within a short span of 15 minutes, so it’s best to make a reservation.

I found this place through Google reviews, and as you can probably tell from the photos and ratings, it looks absolutely wild, so after a long shopping day in Paris we had to give it a shot.
We did not have a reservation, so we stood in line for about an hour to get in. Honestly, that is the only downside of the entire experience and something you should expect if you show up without booking.
From the moment you walk inside, it feels like you teleported into a completely different vibe. The open kitchen is full of hustle and chaos in the best way possible, with servers running everywhere and constant movement. Personally, I really liked the energy. It feels lively and authentic, not forced.
We were a group of four, so we ordered a mix of appetizers, pizzas, and pastas. Everything we tried was very good across the board. That said, the appetizers were clearly the star of the show. We ordered the bruschetta focaccia and the stracciatella fumé, and that combination together did not disappoint at all. Easily the highlight of the meal.
We paid around 110€ for everything, which felt like very good value for the quality and quantity of food we had, especially considering the location and overall experience.

da Michele is a chain establishment and arguably the most famous brand among Neapolitan pizzerias. They are known for baking characteristically oversized "cartwheel" pizzas, often exceeding 40 cm in diameter. Their style differs slightly from AVPN-certified Neapolitan pizza, and the company does not hold an AVPN certification number.
Although the restaurant has operated since 1870, much of its international fame comes from the 2010 film Eat, Pray, Love, starring Julia Roberts and Javier Bardem.
Before visiting the Paris branch, I had already been to the original location in Naples several times (coincidentally always during the off-season), as well as the branches in Rome and Bergamo, giving me a good baseline for comparison.
I visited da Michele Paris on two consecutive days. Overall, the experience closely mirrored my previous visits: consistently good, though not quite perfect. I found no significant difference in taste between the various da Michele branches.
They use the same core ingredients throughout the chain, including Caputo Blue flour, fior di latte (mozzarella) from Campania, and anchovies from Cetara. The dough was consistently good. Unlike many pizzerias serving the contemporary Neapolitan style ("contemporanea"), however, don't expect a particularly raised or airy cornicione. They are also generous with the toppings, and one pizza is easily enough for a full meal.
They famously use soybean oil instead of extra virgin olive oil because of its neutral flavor.
This branch uses a gas-fired oven rather than a wood-fired one. I couldn't detect any noticeable difference in taste, although some visitors may find it slightly disappointing since most pizzerias in Naples—including the original da Michele—still use wood-fired ovens.
I sat near the oven, which allowed me to watch the pizzas being prepared. On the first day, the pizzaioli repeatedly overbaked several pizzas, including mine, resulting in excessive charring. The staff attempted to shave off the burnt edges, and only one severely overcooked pizza was discarded. Unfortunately, if the bottom of the pizza is burnt, it becomes nearly impossible to enjoy regardless of how much char is removed from the crust. After I mentioned the issue, my next pizza was baked more carefully. On the second day, I warned them in advance, and my pizza came out perfectly baked. I hope they pay more attention to this...

It can be very loud and crowded but there is not a single time I was disappointed. Very few mins on foot from Bastille there is this little cute authentic pizzeria from Italy!
All the staffs and the manager herself are very friendly and let my husband improve his italian! The pizza is absolutely amazing!!! Big portions and very light to digest!!
Price is absolutely on average for Paris!

I get it, they are the quote unquote inventors of pizza. Doesn’t justify them not cutting it, making it feel & taste like a giant chapati loaded with sauce & cheese. I was so looking forward to this one, Lantica Pizzeria Da Michele disappointed me big time!

Best pizza outside of Naples! Great restaurant location. The food is incredible. The biggest pizzas but so light and delicious. Iftar was our waiter and nothing was too much trouble, he was perfect.

Incredible food! MUST have Il Crocche di Patate with whatever you order. We got the Margherita alla Fiamma pizza (which was, surprisingly to us, served on fire) and La Parmigiana for our main dishes. Absolutely delicious, definitely recommend.

We showed up for dinner without reservation, but the owner was incredibly kind and managed to seat us at the only available table for two. We ordered the Amalfi Pizza and ovoli truffle pasta, and they were absolutely stunning — even better than the ones I had in Italy. We were truly blown away. It was such a wonderful, satisfying experience overall.

Delicious pizzas here!! Dessert looked so tempting like the tiramisu but we were stuffed! Had two pizzas, the Diavolo was spicy just like we like it and the Marchesa had such velvety aubergine.

As a well traveled family with experiences of Michelin stars, 5 diamond and James Beard nominees and award winners, Arriverderci Pizzaria in the 5th arrondissement of Paris is like pizza at L'Antica Pizzeria Da Michele in Naples. Its like finding a hidden portal straight to the heart of Campania. We’ve been fortunate enough to dine at some of the world's top James Beard and Michelin-recognized restaurants, but true culinary magic is defined by doing one thing perfectly.
The pies here can stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Italy's absolute finest, including the legendary Da Michele in Naples. The execution of the wood-fired crust and the pristine quality of the ingredients are flawless. Incredible texture, vibrant flavors, and zero pretension. An absolute gem in Paris for anyone who truly knows food.
Nazar Berkimbay★★★★★
Genuinely one of the best dinner experiences that I had in Paris. You can feel the freshness of every ingridient: little sweetness from homemade tomato sauce, crunchy and light pizza dough, umami of anchovis. This translates you into an eating mode and you'll wake up realizing you just inhailed a masterpiece. And a very creamy panna cotta for desert.

If you’re craving authentic Italian comfort food in Paris, Respiro is an absolute hidden gem that completely exceeded our expectations!
We ordered their signature ham pizza, and without exaggeration, it was the absolute best pizza we had during our entire trip to Paris. The crust was perfection—light, airy, with a beautiful leopard-spotted char and a chew that only proper sourdough can deliver. Topped with high-quality, savory ham, rich melted mozzarella, and a bright tomato sauce, every bite was sheer bliss.
For our pasta, we went with the Penne Bolognese. The penne was cooked to a precise al dente, tossed in a rich, slow-simmered meat ragù that tasted deeply comforting and homemade. It held onto the thick sauce beautifully.
We finished off the meal on a sweet note with their classic Tiramisu. It was heavenly—wonderfully light, velvety mascarpone cream layered over espresso-soaked ladyfingers with just the right touch of cocoa powder. It was sweet without being cloying, offering the ultimate sweet ending to an Italian feast.
Combined with warm, friendly service and a cozy, inviting atmosphere, Respiro delivers a genuine taste of Italy right in the heart of Paris. An absolute must-visit spot for pizza and pasta lovers! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We ate here our first night as we arrived late and it was across from our hotel - it was wonderful! Best Italian food in France!!! Delicious!!! Servers are friendly and attentive!!! Highly recommend! Absolutely incredible little restaurant which fully offers the best taste of Italy in Central Paris.
The quality of the ingredients is top top and the final taste is incredible. Only the best restaurants in Italy itself can rival this. I now see why TripAdvisor has it as best pizza in Paris. So glad we made the trip it was so worth it.
Having the Mole Cola is a huge bonus for me!! Love that.
We didn't take photos of the desserts but I can happily confirm they are just as great as the mains and starters!! Will absolutely be coming back here for more incredible pizzas and salads!
This is one of those finds which will make it tough to go for pizza in Paris anywhere else now.

Delicious and very authentic Italian pizza. Tasted just like the pizza we had in Rome. You order on a tablet, which is great for building your own pie. The Flamenco pizza was amazing, not very spicy, just nice and flavorful. The table olive oil with the pepper flakes was very spicy.

We tried Peppe Pizzeria for the first time after hearing so much about it, and now we completely understand why it’s so famous.
We ordered the “Championne du Monde” pizza and it was honestly delicious. It truly deserves its reputation as one of the best pizzas. The crust was perfectly done: light, crispy on the outside, and soft inside.
The toppings tasted super fresh and high quality, and everything was perfectly balanced. Honestly, everything was perfect from start to finish. Definitely a place we would come back to!

Can’t rate this pizza highly enough - absolute perfection and live that you get a bottle of chilli oil to add your perfect amount of spice. The showstopper is this chocolate mousse however. You can find one of the best pizzas in Paris at this restaurant. The pizzas are outstanding, and the Angioletti dessert is absolutely delicious and the perfect way to end the meal. The restaurant also has a cozy, intimate atmosphere, making it a wonderful place to relax and enjoy great food.

It’s so good. This place has amazing food. My friends and I always get a burrata multicolore (pesto sauce with burrata, sun dried tomatoes, and almonds? (I think) on top) and it’s so good. The crust is also amazing. If you like crunchy crust, this isn’t the crust for you. The soft crust is so delicious; usually crust doesn’t have a genuine taste imo but this one does and it’s good. I’ve also gotten the arancini balls which were so good. Everyone here is super nice as well. Most of them speak Italian to each other so you know the pizza is good. Wish I could teleport just to get this pizza whenever 💔

A nice and high quality pizzeria. The quality of the ingredients is really noticeable. However, for someone with a car who does not live in Paris the location is very problematic because it is almost impossible to find parking. Therefore my family had to wait almost one hour for me.
Although the restaurant was very full the service staff was very friendly. Especially the waiter with long hair was very attentive and empathetic unfortunately I forgot to ask for his name.
Unfortunately my daughter became ill so we could not eat our pizzas at the restaurant and had to take them away. The disappointment was that the pizzas were burnt. All three pizzas were burnt. I could not help but think whether this was maybe because we are not from France and they thought they will not come again anyway. Because of the burnt taste I could not enjoy the pizzas.
The service staff was nice and attentive but because of this disrespect from the kitchen I can only give 3 stars.

We had the burrata multicolore pizza and it was outstanding. Such a unique combination, but it just works so well together.
The staff were incredibly warm, welcoming, and kind, and their suggestion to try the tiramisu was spot on. It was honestly insane — easily one of the best we’ve had.
Left in a happy food coma. Would go back in a heartbeat.

This little gem has amazing pizza with great quality ingredients and really friendly staff! The first time we came here it was when we were coming back from Eiffel Tower around midnight with our kids, 11 and 13. They were so tired and hungry, and so we wanted a safer dinner option for them: pizza. We looked up a pizza place opened past midnight near our hotel and we found this resto. Your first impression will be that it’s so tiny compared to other nearby places, but don’t let that turn you away. We were so impressed, it was bustling with locals showering their praise for the food (the place recently opened up shop). The pizza is fabulous!! We loved it so much we came back the next day. Also, the prices are so reasonable for the quality. I would recommend you get one pizza per person, and we also got fries and dessert there, tiramisu and panna cotta, so delicious. The owners are so sweet and provided great service. If you’re looking for great taste, quality, and good prices I would recommend this place wholeheartedly!
We’re Canadians, so to any others from the True North if you like Italian pizza I’m sure you’ll like this place.
Also great for kids, getting something late at night, or picking up pizza and heading to your hotel or a park. Super recommend!!!!

Everything tasted fresh, light, authentic and prepared with care for the order. We got the marinara and 5 cheeses pizza, both were absolutely spectacular. Crispy dough with tons of charred bubbles, chewy inside and sweet san Marzano tomatoes sauce. Highly recommend and will return.

What a fantastic experience! This place is truly a hidden gem in Paris. It’s small and intimate, but that’s exactly what makes it so special — it feels like family the moment you walk in, all thanks to Georgio. He is incredibly hospitable and makes you feel genuinely welcome and taken care of.
The pizza was absolutely great, and you can tell it’s made with care and pride. Honestly, this was our favorite experience during our trip. It wasn’t just a meal — it was a memory. We can’t wait to come back!

Georgio was such a great host! A small restaurant, however, they are so welcoming and make you feel like family! Pizza was very good and fresh with a thin cracker like crust. My son got the Lasagne and that was excellent. Highly recommend this restaurant for an authentic Italian style dining experience! Georgio the King!

We had a fun visit with the owner Georgio, and very much enjoyed a delicious heart-shaped pizza that they made for us. If you’re up for some fun with your meal, you won’t regret stopping by. Our experience was something unique that we’ll never forget, and you may not find better pizza anywhere in Paris.

Honestly I don’t even understand how this place doesn’t have a solid 5.0 rating! Absolutely the best atmosphere and boss man himself is super friendly and will go above and beyond to satisfy your craving of Italian food. I’ve been to Italy and haven’t felt this well received. And food itself was great! No wonder there are so many locals that go there. If you want a good family owned Italian restaurant experience, this is 100% the place. Pizza Maria #1.

We as dumb Americans, came in 30 mins to close and can barely speak French. However the gentleman behind the counter made us feel more than welcome, welcomed us to dine-in and made us 2 of the best pizzas we’ve had. The name is very appropriate for this place and I highly recommend anyone who is craving pizza to stop by and give this location a shot, you will not be disappointed.

Charming takeaway pizza in Le Marais! Take a taste of the Marais with you on your way to your destination -- Great, Napolitan-style pizza, good lunch special. Owner is very nice and in the neighborhood all the time. We love to support him!

This is an absolute must if you want pizza! Light thin crust with great crunch, the toppings are remarkably fresh tasting! Very good balance in flavor. Shocking for such a small spot. They will have a larger place soon enough!

We ordered the quattro stagioni pizza and thought we weren’t gonna finish it but as soon as he brought it out the oven our mouths WATERED, we cleared the whole plate no crumbs left. Crust was amazing mushrooms and other toppings were cooked to perfection, and he even gave us free drinks. 10/10 service definitely will be there again!!

It’s easily one of my top 3 favorite pizzas in Paris. I always order it on Uber Eats and love it, but this was my first time at the restaurant and it was even better. The margherita is amazing. The Cruela Devil is also really good. The restaurant is nice and so is the staff. 100% reccomend.

Warm and happy little pizza place in the heart of Paris. Fresh from the oven pizzas, tasty and perfectly baked with high quality ingredients. The service by Tom deserves a special mention on its own, always professional, kind and smiling despite the lunchtime holiday rush. Overall a quite enjoyable experience that I would recommend. Don't forget to book a table as the place is very popular -)

Amazing experience at Dalmata 2 in Paris!!!
The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel comfortable from the moment we arrived. The pizza was absolutely delicious, easily one of the best I've had. Perfect dough, great ingredients, and full of flavor. Highly recommended if you're in Paris! And try the Burrata !!!

Ordered several pizzas from Dalmata, and they were all really good!
The dough was spot on: light and tasty, and the ingredients on top were super fresh and flavorful.
The star was definitely the one with mortadella.
Highly recommend if you’re craving a quality pizza!

We recently tried takeout pizza from this delightful establishment. The ambiance in the place is extremely pleasant, and the setting creates a friendly and inviting atmosphere. The pizza itself exceeded our expectations – it was delicious and of excellent quality. The variety of flavors and the freshness of the ingredients were remarkable. Overall, a highly recommended spot for anyone seeking top-notch pizza. We'll definitely be coming back!

Would highly recommend, we came for dinner twice and lunch on our last day on our 5 day trip to paris! The staff were lovely and was fast service. Food was perfect and will definitely be back when in Paris 💛

This is an absolute find.
We tried it due to the closeness to our hotel and it ticked every box.
The food was amazing. You could easily be in Italy, which it turns out, two of the staff were from. Pompeii apparently. 🇮🇹
Staff were friendly and the atmosphere was spot on.
SeenSteef★★★★☆
Overall, I had an excellent experience. The food was delicious, with the pizza being a standout. However, the tiramisu didn't quite meet expectations as it was too light and lacked a clear mascarpone flavor, though it wasn't soggy. The prices were average, and the atmosphere was cozy. On the downside, the opening hours are limited, and seating is limited, making it hard to find a spot sometimes. The location is great, the staff is friendly, attentive, but slightly slow due to high customer volume.

Truly delicious Neapolitan pizzas. We’ve ordered takeaway several times, and the pizzas are clearly made with top-quality ingredients. They always arrive still crisp, without the soggy base that so often happens with takeaway pizzas. Special mention to the “Parmatador” pizza, it’s outstanding.

Very friendly, happy to help with translation, food was beautiful
Tips for Enjoying Pizza in Paris
Navigating the Parisian pizza scene requires a slightly different approach than dining in Italy or the United States. Parisians dine later, reservations are often essential, and the concept of “sharing” a pizza is less common than in American culture.
Understanding the local rhythm will significantly improve your experience and help you secure a table at the most sought-after addresses.
1). Book Ahead for Dinner
The most popular pizzerias in Paris are small and fiercely competitive. For any dinner service, especially Thursday through Saturday, call or book online a few days in advance. Walk-ins are sometimes accepted at the counter, but waiting an hour for a table is common at places like Peppe or Da Graziella.
2). Embrace the Early or Late Seating
Parisians typically eat dinner between 8:00 PM and 9:30 PM. If you want a quieter atmosphere or better chances of getting a table without a reservation, aim for a 7:00 PM seating or a late-night slot after 10:00 PM. Lunch service is often much calmer and sometimes offers better value formulas.
3). Respect the “No Cutlery” Norm
While some upscale spots provide cutlery, true Neapolitan pizza in Paris is meant to be eaten with your hands. Fold the slice slightly, lift it from the tip, and avoid asking for a knife unless absolutely necessary. It is a sign of authenticity and keeps the crust from getting soggy.
4). Order One Pizza Per Person
Unlike in North America, where pies are often shared, Parisian portions are sized for one person. The dough is light and the toppings are balanced, so finishing a whole pizza is expected and satisfying. Sharing is fine if you are sampling, but order at least two for the table.
5). Look for the AVPN Certification
If you want guaranteed authenticity, seek out pizzerias displaying the “Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana” (AVPN) certification. This ensures strict adherence to Neapolitan methods, including dough hydration, oven temperature, and ingredient sourcing. Several spots on this list proudly hold this distinction.
6). Pair with Italian Wine, Not Cocktails
While Paris is famous for its cocktails, pizza pairs best with a crisp Italian red like Lambrusco, a mineral-driven white like Falanghina, or a simple Peroni. Most top pizzerias curate small, affordable Italian wine lists that complement the acidity of the tomato and the richness of the cheese better than a heavy French Bordeaux.
Paris has officially joined the ranks of Europe’s great pizza cities, offering a level of craftsmanship that rivals much of Italy while adding its own distinct sense of style. The experience of sitting in a narrow Parisian dining room, watching a pizzaiolo slide a blistered pie from a roaring oven, is one of the city’s great modern culinary pleasures.
The best approach is to treat this list as a starting point for exploration. Each neighborhood has its own hidden gem, and part of the joy is wandering into a place that smells of wood smoke and fresh basil. Trust your instincts, follow the locals, and never settle for a slice that does not have a properly charred, airy crust.
