Beautiful and peaceful park. Has benched, and picnic tables as well as grassy areas.
Audrius Bagdonas★★★☆☆
The park seemed good at first, it had beautiful plants and trees and everything was organized. However when we got farther into the park we realized that you have to pay to further explore it, there was also a stray dog running around the place that scared my dog. There were also a few houses inside of the park, not sure if anyone lives there though.
Cari No★★☆☆☆
We wanted to go there with the dog after seeing the nice pictures. The area where dogs are allowed however is not nice at all. So we left again, disappointed

The Majorcan city walls were built between the 13th and 14th centuries to protect the medieval town.
Deemed obsolete and cumbersome, they were largely demolished in the early 19th century. Remnants can still be seen on Rue Pierre Ronsard, where some houses were built directly on the former ramparts.
Martine Berthelot★★★★☆
Ramparts, a very narrow garden that follows the ramparts.

A peaceful park where it's pleasant to open a book and enjoy reading.

The park is tiny. The photos shown don't match the actual place.
The fountain was empty.
The visit lasted less than five minutes. You'd be better off walking along the seafront.

The dryness is certainly noticeable 🙂 in this small park/garden, but it's very clean and well-maintained. There's a double climbing frame where children can let off steam, as well as a play area for toddlers and a sports area for older children.

A pleasant, family-friendly neighborhood park. The city has recently made improvements to the grounds 🙂 Dogs are not allowed in the park, even on leashes, which is unfortunately sometimes ignored. The use of trash cans could also be improved. A favorite spot for children!

Excellent park in Perpignan... But unfortunately, it's not well maintained, and as a result, there's litter everywhere.
I don't recall seeing any trash cans along the park, which I find regrettable and essential.
I'm adding some photos of the park because the ones available from the Perpignan town hall and online don't do it justice at all, as they were taken before and during construction or during the winter.
Marta Leon Rios★★★★☆
We really liked it. In the middle of Perpignan you find this little oasis of calm. Very nice with a play area for children. For my taste it lacks a little more signage.
Donovan Merchez★★☆☆☆
A very beautiful place, but frequented by unsavory characters, including drugged and drunk people from 8:30 in the morning. A real shame.

Outdoor gym good be better. Water fountains are working, thats impressive!! Basketball enough, but no real net. Football field is decent. People mostly welcoming.
David Doherty★★★★★
Large pool with plenty of space for lap swimming. Also has a diving board, a separate childrens pool, a slide and and hot tub. Its a public pool and the price is affordable with free lockers.
You cant wear board shorts but need tight trunks. This is required almost everywhere in France FYI. Swim cap did not seem to be required though I wore one.

Sun 66 (Sun66)★☆☆☆☆
A very bad experience at this park in Perpignan (newly opened).
The place is actually quite nice and has a lot of potential, but the atmosphere ruins everything.
Groups of girls (around 8 to 14 years old, always the same ones…) harass other children, displaying a level of vulgarity shocking for their age (insults, a complete lack of respect). It's really disturbing, especially when you're there with young children.
Parents are present, but often just among themselves, without intervening or really monitoring what's happening. It's serious!
And the park's supervision leaves much to be desired: there's a guard, but he stays outside, making him ineffective in case of a problem.
As a result, a place that could be pleasant becomes stressful. You don't feel safe there, and you don't want to go back.
It's a real shame, because this park deserves better.

Cat Flanigan (Cat Flan)★★★☆☆
Overpriced for nocturnes.
Came for their nocturne evenings and although there are a few activities for the kids :
2 trampoline, accrobranch, ko karting... the kids had a good time.
The quest is not available in the evening and we felt charging 12 euros per kids and our adult was very Overpriced for what is available and length of time spent.

We went here today with my parents and children. The gardens were good with a puzzle in for the kids to solve. The outdoor escape game was excellent. The children (age 3 and 5) really loved it. They could help with all the games and they were really unusual quirky games. They had little water sprayers dotted around with buttons to push which would be really great in the hot sun. The lady was really friendly and welcoming and spoke good English. The cafe is closed at the moment so we had to go and find somewhere else to get lunch. We all had a great time here - something quite different to do. My daughter asked in the car after we left when we would be able to go back 😊
Priscilla Hellyer★★★★★
An amazingly creative family experience, there is fun for all ages. Both the treasure hunt and the escape game are educational, varied and a lot of fun for all. The garden itself is a very refreshing oasis, especially in the summer, with a lot of shade and some welcome mist showers. This place is a gem not to be missed! For anglophones it is a chance to practise some French (with the help of google translate 😉) and it's really worth it! Well done to the team!

Tips for Visiting Parks and Gardens in Perpignan
To make the most of your time outdoors in Perpignan, it helps to understand the local climate and culture. The Mediterranean sun can be intense, especially between June and September, so planning your visit around the weather is essential. These practical tips will help you stay comfortable, safe, and respectful of the local environment while enjoying the city’s natural beauty.
1. Visit early or late to avoid the heat. Most parks in Perpignan are at their best in the early morning or late afternoon. During the summer months, temperatures can easily exceed 30°C (86°F) by noon. Arriving before 11:00 AM or after 5:00 PM allows you to enjoy the gardens without the risk of heat exhaustion and offers better lighting for photography.
2. Carry water and sun protection. While some central squares have nearby cafes, many larger parks lack water fountains. Always bring a refillable bottle of water, wear a wide-brimmed hat, and apply sunscreen. The sun in the Pyrénées-Orientales is strong, even on partially cloudy days, so protection is non-negotiable.
3. Respect the "pelouse" (lawn) signs. You will often see signs indicating whether you can walk or sit on the grass. In France, many ornamental lawns are strictly for viewing, while others are open for picnics. Look for signs that say "Pelouse autorisée" (lawn allowed) or "Pelouse interdite" (lawn prohibited) to avoid fines or disapproving looks from locals.
4. Combine your visit with local markets. Several of Perpignan’s parks and squares host farmers’ markets or artisan fairs on specific days of the week. Checking the local market schedule can turn a simple park visit into a culinary experience. Buying fresh produce or local cheese and enjoying it on a nearby bench is a favorite pastime for residents.
5. Use the public transport and bike lanes. Parking in the historic center of Perpignan can be difficult and expensive. Most major parks are well-connected by the city’s bus network and dedicated cycling paths. Renting a bicycle is an excellent way to hop between the different gardens while reducing your carbon footprint and avoiding traffic congestion.
6. Be mindful of the Tramontane wind. Perpignan is known for the "Tramontane," a strong, dry wind that blows from the northwest. It can make a sunny day feel much cooler and can kick up dust. Bringing a light jacket or scarf, even in the summer, is a wise precaution, especially if you plan to sit still and read for an extended period.
The green spaces of Perpignan offer more than just pretty scenery; they provide a window into the daily rhythm of Catalan life. From the laughter of children in playgrounds to the quiet contemplation of retirees on shaded benches, these parks are the living rooms of the city. Taking the time to slow down and sit among the plane trees and fountains will give you a deeper appreciation for this unique corner of France.
As you explore these outdoor havens, remember that they are cherished community assets. Leaving no trace, keeping noise levels respectful, and supporting the small kiosks and cafes located within or near the parks helps preserve these spaces for future generations. Enjoy the fresh air, the scent of the pines, and the vibrant colors that make Perpignan’s gardens truly unforgettable.
