15 Best Tapas Restaurants in Seville

Seville is a city that lives through its food. While flamenco and Moorish architecture often dominate the headlines, it is the humble tapa that truly dictates the rhythm of local life. Here, dining is not a race but a leisurely stroll through history, one small plate at a time. From the bustling lanes of Triana to the hidden squares of Santa Cruz, every neighborhood offers a distinct flavor of Andalusian hospitality.

The tradition of tapas in Seville is deeply rooted in social connection. It is the excuse to gather with friends after work, to stand shoulder-to-shoulder at a polished bar, and to debate passionately about which establishment serves the best salmorejo or slow-braised bull’s tail. Eating tapas is less about filling the stomach and more about feeding the soul, accompanied by a chilled glass of Manzanilla or a crisp local Cruzcampo beer.

For visitors, navigating this vibrant scene can be overwhelming. The city boasts hundreds of bars, ranging from century-old institutions with faded bullfighting photos to modern, avant-garde kitchens pushing the boundaries of Andalusian cuisine. To truly eat like a local, you must understand the rhythm: lunch is late, dinner is later, and the best bars are often the ones with the most napkins on the floor.

Quality in Seville is defined by freshness and simplicity. The finest tapas rely on exceptional local ingredients—jamón ibérico de bellota, ripe tomatoes, fresh seafood from the Atlantic coast, and olive oil from the hills of Jaén. Whether you are craving crispy fried fish (pescaíto frito) or a rich, garlicky stew, the city delivers an authenticity that is increasingly rare in modern Europe.

This guide focuses on the essential stops for any food lover. We have curated a list that balances the historic with the contemporary, ensuring you experience the full breadth of Seville’s culinary identity. Each recommendation has been chosen for its commitment to quality, atmosphere, and the authentic spirit of the Andalusian capital.

To help you navigate this delicious landscape, we have compiled a list of the 15 best tapas restaurants in Seville. These are the places where memories are made, where the sherry flows freely, and where the true essence of the city is served on a small plate.

We really enjoyed the food, we had 6 tapas, a bottle of wine and Coke Zero for € 68 total. Great veggie and meat options. Hassan and his team were really nice and delivered great service, we would definitely come back. Relax atmosphere and great vibes. Only downside was that we got bread that we didn’t order and didn’t touch but still had to pay €1 each person for it.

After a bit of online searching (if I do it on the spot I’ll be dead before I find something)I found Alcazar. It had a good rating for the food and the people and I have to say that Hassan and his team didn’t disappoint. The food was very good and I found the prices very reasonable. I had the sizzling garlic shrimp, the aubergine with goats cheese and some patatas bravas. All were amazing! The only thing missing was some music.
Cassandra Calescu★★★★★
Lovely outdoor area in a beautiful and colourful street. We ordered the tuna tataki and corvina fish - both really delicious! Also Hassan and his team were very nice and recommending dishes based on our tastes.

What a fantastic way to end our trip to Seville. We chose ALCÁZAR ANDALUSÍ TAPAS for our final meal, and it exceeded every expectation. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about providing a great dining experience. Their recommendations and service made us feel welcome from start to finish. The food was outstanding. Every tapa, main course, and dessert was beautifully presented, full of flavor, and made with high-quality ingredients. Honestly, every dish we ordered was a 5 out of 5. The atmosphere was warm, authentic, and inviting, making it the perfect place to enjoy traditional Andalusian cuisine. If you’re visiting Seville and looking for exceptional food and service, this restaurant is a must-visit. Thank you to the entire team for making our last night in Seville so memorable. Absolutely deserving of five stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

A wonderful restaurant in Seville! The tapas were delicious, and the paella was excellent. We loved everything we ordered. Special thanks to Hassan and his team for their outstanding hospitality. Hassan made us feel at home, just like we were in Turkiye. Thank you for such a warm and memorable experience. Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Spinach and chickpeas were good. Mix vegetable were okay and grilled peppers were below average But the vibes of the place were fantastic. I wish they were still more flexible in their menu orwhile taking orders. Always remember to reserve the seats because it’s very popular. Ours first experience of Spanish Tapas. I enjoyed the whole thing. Staff was very helpful and attentive

We went to El Librero Tapas y Quesos and really enjoyed it. The paella was delicious, although we would have liked the bottom to be a bit crispier. The artichokes were fresh, flavorful, and had just the right amount of acidity. The spinach with chickpeas was excellent—warm, comforting, and full of flavor. Overall, we had a great meal and would happily come back.
Paul Hammond★★★★☆
Centrally located not too far from the Real Alcazar. Visited based on suggestions for a good quality Paella and weren’t disappointed. Service was excellent, the young lady was helpful and very friendly. We visited as a party of six and ordered a variety of Paellas alongside a White Asparagus and Tortilla dish which were fantastic. Bar was very traditional and we sat in the central part of the property. It had a cosy feel, wasn’t a great amount of room in the area but added to the ambiance. I think this is more suited to an evening visit but ideal to escape the midday sun for a cooler environment as the area we sat had no windows etc.
Светлана Драгунова★★★★★
I stumbled upon this restaurant by chance at the beginning of February while walking in the very center, right next to the cathedral. I stopped by for dinner and was absolutely delighted! When I came back to Seville two weeks later, at the end of February, I didn't want to look for any other places at all — I only wanted to eat here. It was incredibly heartwarming when I returned: they recognized me right away, gave me a very warm welcome, and surrounded me with such amazing care! The atmosphere here is fantastic, the traditional dishes are delicious, and the desserts are just insane. The staff is incredibly pleasant, and a huge plus is that they speak several languages fluently: English, Italian, and French. A wonderful place that you just want to keep coming back to!

We were in the area for an appointment and the menu seemed promising, with more vegetarian options than other places in Sevilla. We don’t usually go to places close to tourist sites but were starving and didn’t want to walk all the way home to Miraflores on an empty stomach. We should have walked right back out when we noticed the musty, dank smell and saw that they had a humidifier (!!!) running in the back. The staff was rude, slamming the drinks on the table and chiding me when I reminded them for the second time that I had ordered bread with the pisto. I was also chided when I tried to get the waiter’s attention to order another caña. The pisto was overly sweet (completely unnecessary, if you use fresh, flavorful vegetables) and so was the salad, which was covered in molasses, a sign that they primarily cater to tourists. The tomatoes on the salad were barely ripe and had zero taste. Also, this was the first time I have seen a salad with iceberg lettuce in Sevilla, another sign they only cater to tourists. The tortilla was good. The bread, which finally arrived once I was done with the pisto, was terrible (the packaged kind of baguette rolls that you put in the oven to reheat). Spain has amazing bread, so this seemed just lazy and cheap. We were sitting next to a family of Spaniards who couldn’t stop laughing about the unfriendly service. When they asked the waiter about the eggplant dish, he told them, “sabe a rayos.” (Roughly translated as, “it tastes like hell.”) Then some exhaust pipe above their table started dripping on the son. As visible on the photo, it was jerry-rigged with duct tape. I’m giving this two stars, one’s for the tortilla and the other one for the honesty of the waiter (we almost ordered the eggplant dish but were glad we didn’t).

Our favorite restaurant in Seville was La Bartola. Delicious tapas, great sangria for less than 3 Euros and very friendly servers. We are still dreaming about the Iberian pork cheek stew over potato purée, the caponata, croquettes and homemade desserts. We ate there 3 times during our visit it is that good!
J Yu★★★★★
Really tasty food here! We ordered a few tapas and everything was great, especially the baby squid, swordfish roll, pig cheek, and beef. Service was fast for the first round, but a bit slower on the second. The place has a great vibe, very lively at night and can get busy. Prices are very reasonable. Overall, a great dinner spot.

We were there last Thursday for dinner and we weren't disappointed. We've eaten a meal without paying a lot of money and the atmosphere was quite nice due to the smilling staff. We've really enjoyed the food. Everything was simply amazing so - in my opinion - you should visit "La Bartola" and you won't regret for no doubt! 🤩

The best food I had in all of Seville.. stopped by this place for late dinner during my recent trip to Seville and this place did not disappoint. We ordered their roasted lamb with cous cous, garlic shrimp croquetta (that was the croquetta of the day), pork cheek stew with potato purée and the chocolate panna cotta for dessert. We also ordered their sangria and tinto de verano. Every dish we ordered was AMAZING - tasty flavorful well seasoned melt in your mouth meat bursting with flavors. We devoured every bite and it was hard to pick a favorite. Both the lamb and pork dishes were 11/10. Not just the taste but the presentation of every tapa was fantastic. Their drinks were also great. The dessert was to die for. This place is super packed during peak dinner hours and there is barely any room to stand. Since we walked in around 11pm, we got a seat and were well taken care of all thru the night. Also noticed alot of veggie options on the menu which was great. Service was awesome ambience is chic. I am certain I am going to crave their tapas once I am back home. Highly highly recommend this place when in Seville.
Husna★★★★★
We tried several things, the anchovies, cheese, sushi verdura, stuffed zucchini, tataki de salmon, thai red rice as well as eggplant salad. The thai red rice was our least favourite but everything else was delicious. There is always a line up here around dinner time but the staff are amazing and get the line moving quickly. We were impressed with our server as she was gracefully attending to a dozen tables and didn't forget any of our requests.

The espacio eslava it is a restaurant and taperia located close to plaza de San Lorenzo. The atmosphere it is an old style design. It is possible to eat and drinking in the indoor dinner room, in the bar and outdoor. The food side it is nice and well made it. The menu follow the traditional Andalusian and Spanish dishes. The food it is the most positive aspect of whole experience like their great costillas a la miel. Unfortunately the service side it is most downside. As our experience during the dinner I had a slow, careful and unfriendly service. The service based on my experience in the restaurant feels completely impersonal like to be in turistic place. Except for the service side I recommend the espacio eslava for taste their juicy and flavour dishes but I suggest to book early a table.

Outstanding service and food! We came for my brother’s birthday and we were not disappointed. Very enjoyable experience. The honey ribs were fabulous, the pate was outstanding and the octopus melted in your mouth. Our servers were wonderful and everything was well priced.
Alyson Sillett★★★★★
Delightful tapas restaurant, with extensive menu and attentive staff. Probably best to book as it’s very popular! We enjoyed it so much we came back a second time!
Alin Bacos★★★★☆
We attended the restaurant to celebrate my wife's anniversary. The atmosphere and food were very good, but even though I had mentioned during the reservation that it was a special occasion, nothing was done to acknowledge it. Unfortunately, the service did not seem to take the occasion into consideration, which was a bit disappointing for what was meant to be a special evening.
Duda Ferreira★★★★★
Our 2nd time here and is always incredible. The food keeps delivering a great experience to share, full of flavors and beautiful presentation. This place is a must when in Seville. Make reservation and ask the waiter for gluten free option if need.

This is the best tapas bar if you want to experience a truly local and convivial atmosphere. It’s always packed, though. Even though I don’t speak Spanish, other customers helped me out, and the staff were incredibly kind and welcoming. The food was delicious, the ambience was great, and I even met a gentleman who unexpectedly paid my bill, as well as the bill of a French couple sitting next to me. I didn’t understand what was happening at first, but if he ever comes across this comment, I would love to thank him properly and get in touch. The charm of Spain I would say.

we had been coming to this place everyday for our 3 days stay in Silvia. food and drinks are cheap and delicious. always packed with people so there were not many seats available, most people stand . Definitely check thus place out if you are around .
Analiza Alvarez★★★★★
A wonderful breakfast experience with an incredible view. We tried several tostadas with different spreads, and every single one was delicious. Simple ingredients done exceptionally well, full of flavor and perfectly prepared. The beautiful scenery made the meal even more enjoyable. Highly recommended for a relaxing and satisfying breakfast.

My husband and I chose this place for our very first tapas experience and OMG it was overwhelming but so much fun😂 Thank you Senor Manuel for being patient with us! He was super friendly and nice. You are the best!!!! We just went up to the bar and ordered with no problem. The serving time was super fast! We were able to grab a seat later on and made friends with people sitting around us. Everything was delicious and so much fun! Highly recommended just for the experience but food was also good. Huevas fritas was our favorite😋
Shun Iketan (Mich)★★★★★
Tapas start at just over 3 euros, which is an amazing price for a location in the heart of a major city like Seville. Plus, the food is delicious. The waitstaff are attentive, and the place is bustling with energy. It’s a tapas bar that left me feeling nothing but satisfied. There are only about four tables on the terrace. It was lucky to get a seat here?

Islamorada restorana: Our waiter, Mr. Williams came to our table and asked “okay, French, English, Spanish” we answered “عربي" and out of all the restaurants we passed by, we picked the one where a Sevillian Lebanese gentleman greeted us. We gladly put aside the menus and simply said we would like fish dishes so please your expertise. He had suggested the sword fish since it is a true Andalusian dish, and I wanted sardines so the next best thing available was anchovies, which were the star dish personally speaking and to my sister as well a lovely meal. Crispy, succulent and excellently prepared. The calamari was a bit too salty for our palates but would kindly suggest less salt next times. There was another dish, two anchovies each on a piece of long crispy bread, also this would go according to different tastes of palates, so personally speaking, I’ve tried it once and I think is enough. In total we had five dishes, grilled shrimps, two different anchovy dishes, calamari and swordfish. Star dish: Fried Anchovies (well prepared, well cleaned and excellently seasoned). Crispy, tasty, well cooked and absolutely deliciosa!!!! Maybe again: Perhaps calamari but just less salt please. Well prepared. The swordfish has a definite Andalusian twist with the sweet succulent green chalapas. Wouldn’t order again: shrimps (unfortunately not cleaned but alright in taste, and not well grilled, please know I am a true fish eater and have tasted all sorts of fish and seafood from the gulf peninsula to the Mediterranean Sea and baltics, both river and sea fish) so my choices will certainly NOT disappoint and ofcourse I will try to be as kind and fair as possible since the waiters Alberto and Williams were at the utmost respect and welcoming so deserves the visit! 🇪🇸🙌🏻💃🏼. FYI, shrimp price wasn’t on the menu, so I’m not sure how much we were charged for it, kindly ask and verify. “May Allah increase your happy travels” - H.H.H 💚

Very warm and welcoming staff which was a great start to the meal. The food was excellent and I could see why it had such a good rating already. Started with the Pareja De Gildas which were delicious little skewers. Next up were the Croquetas De La Abulea which were also excellent. Crunchy, gooey, and perfectly cheesy with jamon. Lastly the tapas version of the Carrillera Iberica En Salsa. Tender meat, tasty sauce. Highly recommend a stop here.
Eshaana S Sharma★★★★★
Quiet, warm place serving delicious authentic tapas in generous portions. We went here for dinner and were met with lovely service. Good tinto de verano and house white wines. The tortilla with ruffle is a must try!! The best thing we ordered . The patata bravas were also crispy and light and the pardon pepper were generous. We really enjoyed the pork cheeks, the sauce was rich and very flavourful. Overall an excellent meal, would love to come again.
Steph★★★★★
Lunch at this bar was the perfect way to start our stay in Sevilla! The drinks were excellent, service was quick (thank you Costin!), and the food was outstanding. The restaurant itself is beautiful with a relaxed feel. We shared a tortilla that I'll be dreaming about for months, and the salads were incredibly fresh. If you're visiting Sevilla, make this your first stop to refresh from your travels.
Iguanadjy★★★★★
The food was amazing. The best tapas I’ve ever eaten in Spain service was fast and our waiter Daniel was really nice and helpful to get the best out of their delicious and varied selection of food. Quantities are definately not a problem there. Tou can go there eyes closed.

We had a great time at this restaurant. All tapas were delicious, one better than the other. Special mention to the fantastic team members who looked after us, Gregory at the beginning of the service and Belèn towards the end of our dinning experience! We had a lovely time and we highly recommend this place to anyone. ❤️
Xiao Ruan★★★★★
We had a wonderful dining experience here. The atmosphere was beautiful and made for a very enjoyable evening. A special thank you to Belen, who was incredibly warm, friendly, and attentive. Her recommendations were absolutely spot on, and every dish she suggested was delicious. We highly recommend the Iberian ham, scallops, and foie gras. The ham was rich, silky, and beautifully flavorful. The scallops were cooked to perfection, and the creamy sauce with the accompanying garnish added wonderful depth and texture. The foie gras was surprisingly light and not greasy at all, and pairing it with the crispy toasted bread was simply perfect. To top it all off, we were treated to a complimentary sweet red wine after the meal, which was a lovely surprise and a perfect ending to an outstanding dining experience. Thank you again, Belen, for your exceptional hospitality. We would definitely come back and highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting!

We are holidaying and stumbled upon this place. Lovely vibe and decor, but the food, incredible! I am gluten free and was made to feel very so welcome! So much choice, and a completely separate menu to choose from. We had a great evening. I wanted to thank the waitress for being so attentive, knowledgeable and friendly (Dalton sisters). HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place 🖤

On our first day in Seville, we celebrated my Mum’s birthday with a meal out at El Pasage Tapas. For starters we shared patatas bravas and Chef’s croquettes. For mains we also shared the grilled cuttlefish with pumpkin in squid ink sauce and the Iberian pork cheek with a base of ratatouille and gratin aioli. We would have preferred if all the dishes had arrived at the same time as the starters would have accompanied the mains really well as sides. We did request this with the waiter but he must have misunderstood what we were asking.
Aswad Qadeer★★★★☆
Our waiter was amazing. Explained the menu to us which was a bit confusing as it was a mix of small and large plates but wasn't obvious. He recommended a lovely white wine. Was attentive throughout. The food was amazing. Beef burger perfectly cooked. Tuna dish perfect. Expensive but delightful scallops to start along with a Caprese Salad. Wonderful presentation of the food too. Would definitely recommend.

3.25/5 I might have had the best frozen strawberry daiquiri of my life here. It was icy and sweet, perfect for the Seville heat. The garlic prawn casserole we had as a starter was so delicious, that oily sauce they were in was divine and went perfectly with a piece of bread. Unfortunately, these were the highlights of our evening and everything else following was pretty average. I had the pork tenderloin, which didn’t taste very tender at all, with about 6 chips. We also tried the fried hake which was overcooked, dry and lacking and flavour. For dessert, I had the chocolate coulant/fondant and was immediately disappointed to find it was also overcooked. The chocolate did not pour out of the middle but it did make for a rich moist chocolate sponge. The service also steadily declined during our time at La Malvaloca, to the point where we were having to flag people down if we wanted any attention. For the price, I would’ve hoped for a better experience.
Carly Waller★★★★★
What a wonderful evening. The food was amazing. We had two burgers for teenagers. They rated it top on their list. I had the cod ravioli and my husband had the Iberian Pork. Great food, extremely good service. Thank you to Kamar and to Juan for looking after us

We had such a wonderful lunch at this restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious. We ordered the dry-aged steak and eggplant, and both were outstanding. The steak was rich and flavorful, and the eggplant was perfectly cooked. What really stood out was the service. The staff spoke English well, were incredibly friendly (BIG shout out for Salomon and Kaman!) and you could tell they genuinely enjoyed their work. They were attentive and thoughtful throughout our meal, which made the whole experience even better. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for great food and warm, welcoming service. We had a truly enjoyable lunch! 🥳

I got hungry around 6:00 PM and this is one of the few places that was actually still serving food at that time. The wine was amazing, and I had the pork risotto, which was very tasty. The service was great too. I was able to sit outside and enjoy the shade and the live music. Everything was amazing. It is a little bit on the pricey side, but it definitely saved my stomach at 6:00 PM in the afternoon.

Nice spot on the square almost directly below Setas de Sevilla, nice spot to watch Setas during sunset and in the dark changing colours. It gets quite busy in the evening so if you want a table outside you might wait for some time. Food is good, staff are lovely.

Exceptional service and Spanish cuisine, this was by far our best restaurant experience in Seville. No loud music, only a few tables, kind staff and delicious food. Reservation needed. We ordered several tapas, which are very well portioned and priced around 6,50€–8,50€. We actually struggled to finish everything. The patatas bravas were on point (vegetarians, be careful - there's bacon on them, which we overlooked). The risotto was very good, as was the duck confit - the meat peeled right off the bone - and the tuna tataki with couscous. The cod fritters weren't bad, but the aioli didn't have much flavour. My girlfriend loved the salmon with potato purée and sweet chili sauce. The salmon was slightly overcooked for my taste (I like mine a bit translucent in the centre), but perfect for her. In our opinion, a demi-glace or a fruity sauce would suit it better than the sweet chili. The burrata salad was good too, though a little pricey for a simple salad. Everything else was top notch, including the red wine and the delicious tinto de verano. We came to about 80€ plus a 5€ tip and enjoyed it very much, with very kind and friendly staff. Highly recommended.
Jonathan Ralph★★★★★
Absolutely stunning place. The risotto changed the way I view the dish, the flavours were so well put together. Also enjoyed the duck confit (although the jus was tiny bit too sweet if I’m really splitting hairs) For only €20, I had one of the best lunches in ages. I only had a couple of hours to kill before catching a bus, and I’m so happy I found Brunilda. Made my day. It would be even better in a group, so you can order the full menu and taste it all. Next time!
Esmay van der Wal★★★★★
Highly highly highlyyy recommend! Wow! The food is the best I’ve had so far since I’m in Sevilla. Lots of great options and great (to share) portion sizes. The vibe is great, the staff is smiling and entertaining, and like I said, the food is AMAZING. There’s a small line up at 20:15 (15 mins before opening). We didn’t make a reservation beforehand and we were lucky we were one of three couples that were able to take a seat at the bar (same menu and options apply). The restaurant was filled instantly after opening because of all the reservations at the tables - so I recommend to be there at 20:15 if you want to have a chance without reservation 🙏🏻.
ChoengWeng Tang★★★★★
Absolutely try the mushroom risotto, it was rich, full of flavor yet left a surprisingly clean after taste. The Duck Confit was a delightful combination or see red script yet juicy explosion of duck flavor, paired nicely with the creamy carrot puree. The squid in squid and chorizo and breadcrumbs, was perfectly done, preserving its delicate seafood aroma... But I didn't care much for the chorizo or even fish roe, that I felt detraxted from the seafood star of the dish. Do make reservations ahead, as so many diners who didn't, had to be turned away.

Best place we ate in in Seville and one of the best we had in our Andalusia tour. Wine and service also great. Worth queuing from 8pm to get in if you don’t have a booking and after 9.30 /10pm spaces also come available. We went twice staying at bar which is fun as can watch the kitchen and would go again if we came back.

We were actually on our way to Granada and had only planned to make a short one-hour stop in Seville. However, the city was so beautiful, vibrant, and charming that we ended up staying for almost four hours. Since we had not planned where to eat, I did a quick search online and discovered that this bar was one of the most popular and well-known places in the area.😍 We arrived about 30–40 minutes before closing time. It was easy to find, in a great location, and since it was near the end of service, it was not too crowded and we were able to get a table immediately. Now, the most important part: the food!😋😋🤩🥰😎 Honestly, these were the best croquettes I had during my entire trip to Spain. I had eaten in Granada, Toledo, and other cities, but the croquettes here were truly outstanding. We also tried Jamón Ibérico, which was delicious and of excellent quality. Even the olives were different from what we usually find—large, flavorful, and absolutely delicious.🤩🥰😎😋😋😋 The only dish my husband did not particularly enjoy was the omelette. Other than that, everything we ordered was excellent. What impressed us the most was the service. The staff were attentive, regularly checked on us, made sure we had everything we needed, and the food arrived quickly. Their friendliness and professionalism made a big difference. In total, we spent around €50 for two people. While it wasn't the cheapest meal of our trip, it was absolutely worth it considering the quality of the food and the overall experience. In fact, this was our last stop before leaving Seville, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. It left us with a wonderful memory and a perfect ending to our time in the city. If you're looking for delicious food, excellent service, and an authentic local experience in Seville, I highly recommend this place.🥰🤩

The food here was amazing, particularly the spinach and chickpea dish -the Garbanzella was the absolute highlight of the meal. The Salmón Ibérico was a little bit on the dry side, but still tasted good. As for the vibe, the atmosphere is incredibly traditional and nice, and the service is completely spot on. It is definitely on the pricier side compared to other local tapas spots in the area, but the excellent food and traditional setting make it well worth visiting for a night out.

The first tapas bar in the world, established in 1670. Great food, really friendly and helpful service which makes you feel at home immediately. The vintage interior, the iberian jamon hanging from the ceiling and then being cut in front of you, the (surprisingly low) bill written on the table with chalk - really makes the experience one of a kind. A true must-go in Seville.

e made a reservation in advance to make sure we got a table. The waiters were super nice and friendly, and they actually helped us choose what to order. They also had a few daily specials that we couldn’t resist trying. We ordered the oxtail as well, and it was absolutely amazing. Definitely recommend this place, and I strongly recommend making a reservation. Otherwise, you’ll likely have to wait in a long line to get a table.

I gave this establishment 5 stars purley for the history. This establishment is the oldest pub in Seville dating back to 1670. The history and stories this place has is unimaginable. The food and wait staff are great the servers operate the place as if it is their own. DefInetly try the pork in whiskey sauce. There are No chairs so expect to stand for your entire stay. Take in the atmosphere that centuries ago sailors and royalty would drink and eat at this little shop.

An absolute great experience at Chicuelo Bodeguita! The food was incredible. The salmorejo was so fresh, the burger was perfect, and the fries were amazing. Huge shoutout to our waiter, Jonaton, who was super friendly, attentive, and made the whole meal even better. Fantastic food and top tier service. Highly recommend stopping by if you are visiting Sevilla!

Food all tasted good especially the beef croquettes. Our server missed a few dishes and drinks we ordered multiple times however. We weren't charged for them so just seems he didn't put them in but it was confusing whether we had more food/drink coming.

We came here on our first night in Sevilla, had multiple tapas and some postres with drinks. Had an amazing time, great food across the board and enjoyed attentive service! Our favourite dishes were the salmorejo and the torrijas. Highly recommend this place!!

Unfortunately reviews are very misleading. Place is very nice. Service is poor. We had prawns and octopus cold salad which tasted good but the seafood portion was ridiculous, barely any in it. Same for the duck croquettes. Tasty but little to no duck. Then we had paella, they told us waiting time was about 30 which fine with us. When arrived was very dry and bland. Big disappointment. We ordered a sangria which never arrived and then a second bottle of water that never arrived. Waste of money unfortunately

I stopped in for an early dinner after visiting a few sites in Seville and it was a great choice. The service, food, and wine were all great and made for a relaxing break from exploring the city. As a big fan of mussels, I had to order them and they were quite tasty. Everything felt fresh and well prepared. I would definitely recommend stopping in if you’re in the area.

The food is so so good, and cheap aswell. The staff friendly, and you don't need to wait so long. We recommend the stew pork and black noodle, so good. Only one problem is restaurant quite small, and the table is suitable for 2, so if you go 3 people or more you need to wait abit. We have 2 adults and 1 child, total just €27. Unbelievable 🥰

Great spot with reasonable prices and a cool vibe. It’s very small, so you’ll probably have to wait for a table, but it’s worth it. The mushroom croquettes and roja pesto bruschetta were standout dishes. The sangria is strong, and the tinto de verano is really refreshing. Definitely recommend!

Tapas bar. You have to go up to the counter to order and get your food and drinks. Staff weren’t too friendly as it was quite busy. The croquettes were nice. However the lasagna and squid noodles were not. Maybe it was my fault for ordering this at a Spanish tapas bar. Anyways, would advise not to get them.

This was one of my favorite places in seville! Went there for lunch and just wow. Cheese and olive was good. Paella was also okay. Slow cooked pork cheek was to die for! Lasagna wasnt as good as others recommend.

Oh my goodness, you won’t believe how amazing this place is! The food is absolutely incredible, and the rustic ambiance is just perfect. It’s a small and fun place, so you can feel right at home. Trust me, don’t think about it, just go! The staff were so friendly and welcoming, they really helped to create the charm of the place. There were plenty of food options to choose from, including some free options. The drinks were also decent, and the overall vibe was just cool and inviting. It can get a bit crowded sometimes, but that’s just part of the charm, you know? We ate a lot and the prices were really reasonable for the amount we ate. Overall, it was a fantastic experience. Keep up the great work folks!

Food was nice in general as loads of options on the menu. Highly recommend the courgettes and pork in whiskey sauce. Customer service was fast and they were very friendly. Only annoying thing was that the prawns was served as a small portion despite the €16 charge!

Wow, hands down one of the best restaurants in Seville. Great prices, high-quality products, and a service that is both warm and professional. I went several times during my stay in Sevilla, and everything we ordered was phenomenal every single time. The place fills up quickly, so try to arrive early this is a testament to its quality, as many locals go there because they know it’s a great spot. 100% recommended.

The waiters were incredibly kind and attentive, creating a very relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. The ambiance was pleasant and comfortable, making it a great place to sit and enjoy a meal. The food was excellent, full of flavor, and served in very generous portions. Everything was spot on and absolutely worth recommending. The four of us ate more than enough and were completely full for 90€, which felt fair for the quality and quantity we received.

We had tapas consisting of shrimp, calamari, fish, chicken liver, cod, olives and goat cheese. We drank sangria. For dessert, we had cheesecake and an almond dessert. Everything was absolutely delicious. The service was very fast, and there was no need to wait in line. The atmosphere was beautiful. It was a fantastic Michelin restaurant. I could have dinner there every single day.

Our waiter was Jeshua, a super nice and friendly guy. While he didn’t speak english, and my spanish is non existent, we still made our way of communicating. The food was quickly served and very delicious. Definitely high quality, very tasty and fair priced. I can really recommend this place. Only one minus point: We ordered the tuna tartar (raw fish), which was accidentally delivered to the next table. It stayed there for a while, while the customers over there ate their food/ drinks and shared whatever they ordered. When the waiter came a second time they told him, that they haven’t ordered the tuna. So we got the plate. While i don’t think it is horrible, i would have appreciated a fresh plate, that didn’t sit on another table for quite a while. But in the end: i really enjoyed the taste of the tartar anyways.

Truly spectacular food. We loved every bite. All we could say was "wow". Even the plates matched the dishes. I would've gotten an autograph from the chef and gotten it tattooed if I could. Also, waiter Jeshua was the best ✨️and overall service were perfect 👌🏻 Keep this place away from the tiktok mafia.

Wow! This unassuming spot off the beaten track is a welcome surprise! The food is delicious, some typical spanish tapas with a twist. The tartar was particularly special and the eggplant too. Our server, Jesús, was very kind and accomodating, gracias!

10/10 dinning experience Spanish tapas meets Michelin cuisine. Each dish was beautifully presented and brought out both in a timely manner. Thank you so much to our waiter Luis you made our experience that more special and memorable. Found this restaurant on Reddit and it did not disappoint! We were lucky to get a table straight away for a late dinner at 9:30pm - They do not take reservations. The tapas was creative, well priced and delicious! We had the pork cheek donut, octopus potato salad and oxtail paccheri. Jesus was our waiter and he was great!

We visited La Escalona for dinner while in Seville and absolutely loved it. We definitely over-ordered, but everything we had was delicious and presented beautifully. Our waiter, Zacharias (?), was attentive and friendly, which made the experience even better. The food was excellent — my favourite was the gambas al ajillo, and the olives were possibly the best I’ve ever had. Would highly recommend if you’re visiting Seville.
Adriel John★★★☆☆
La Escalona started off as a promising dining experience with a great atmosphere and strong first impressions. The initial service was attentive, and the first few tapas we received were enjoyable and well-prepared. Unfortunately, the experience quickly declined as the restaurant became overwhelmed by 3 back-to-back food tours. As visitors coming from another country, we were excited to enjoy a memorable meal, but it quickly felt like we were overlooked. We were left waiting for an extended period, and two of the tapas we ordered never arrived.. When our waiter finally returned, the situation became even more confusing. He told us that we hadn’t ordered the last two dishes, despite us clearly remembering placing the order. This created a frustrating and awkward moment, and the overall experience felt disorganized and poorly managed. While the food we did receive was good, the lack of attention, confusion with our order, and overall disorganization took away from what should have been a great experience. In addition, it also took a while to pay while the waiter was too busy attending the food tours.

The best restaurant we’ve eaten so far in spain! The presentation and the quality of food was absolutely incredible. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Sevilla!!

Essential Tips for Enjoying Tapas in Seville

Understanding the local etiquette and timing can dramatically improve your dining experience. Eating tapas in Seville is an art form that requires a bit of strategy and a willingness to embrace the chaos. Below are practical tips to help you navigate the bars like a seasoned local rather than a confused tourist.

  1. Master the Timing: Avoid eating dinner at 7:00 PM. Most kitchens close between 4:00 PM and 8:00 PM. Lunch is typically served from 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM, while dinner begins after 8:30 PM. Arriving at 9:00 PM is perfectly acceptable and often ideal for a lively atmosphere.
  2. Stand at the Bar: While many places have tables, they often charge a small surcharge or require a full meal. To experience the true energy of Seville, stand at the bar. It is faster, more social, and allows you to point at the dishes displayed in the glass case rather than translating a menu.
  3. Order in Rounds: Do not order everything at once. Start with one or two dishes per person and a drink. This keeps the food hot and allows you to gauge the portion sizes. You can always order more, and it gives you an excuse to try a different wine on the second round.
  4. Embrace the Napkin Litter: In traditional tapas bars, throwing used napkins and toothpicks on the floor is not rude; it is a sign of a good time. If you see a floor covered in paper, you are likely in a place with excellent food. Do not look for a trash can—just drop it.
  5. Learn the Local Lingo: A "tapa" is a small portion, a "media ración" is a half portion, and a "ración" is a full plate. If you are with a group, ordering several "medias raciones" to share is the most efficient and economical way to sample the menu.

Seville’s gastronomy is a reflection of its climate and its people—warm, generous, and unpretentious. Whether you are squeezing into a crowded bar in Triana or relaxing on a terrace in El Arenal, the act of sharing food here is a celebration of life itself. The specific recipes may vary from one bar to the next, but the underlying passion for quality ingredients remains constant.

As you wander through the orange-scented streets, let your senses guide you. Look for the sound of clinking glasses, the sight of cured hams hanging from the ceiling, and the smell of garlic and olive oil drifting into the street. These are the signs that you have found something special. In Seville, the best meal is often the one you stumble upon, but with this guide, you are guaranteed to start on the right foot.
